    Combat is boring, the music is excruciating and above all, the characters are just obnoxious. The only praise I can give is that it is well produced. A very well produced Pixar turd made for children.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Combat is fun, but characters aren't as interesting as they were in the original. In the 2002 game, Ratchet was a tough guy who shot first and asked questions later in contrast to Clank. Now he's a dorky fanboy who's nice to everyone, like Clank.

    Ratchet and Clank's relationship also takes a hit, with them instantly becoming friends with no visible growth of their relationship. In the original, the two start out as allies out of convenience, and even start to dislike each other briefly in the middle of the game, but eventually Ratchet and Clank become friends. In this game, Ratchet is calling Clank 'Pal' by the third level.

    Also the scenes where the duo talk to other characters just seem stiff and bland.

    There’s a lot of firsts on my profile here, this game being no different. I never got the chance to play a Ratchet & Clank game before this remake, and for being the first dive into a well established franchise I must say I’m really happy I got into it! It’s definitely not perfect by any means, if anything it started out at a solid 9 towards the beginning and slowly lost me more as it wentThere’s a lot of firsts on my profile here, this game being no different. It’s definitely not perfect by any means, if anything it started out at a solid 9 towards the beginning and slowly lost me more as it went on. What I didn’t like, the story is the most obvious & glaring fault here. It’s not bad, it’s just.. kinda there. Things happen and you move on in record time, it honestly felt like the game has ADHD, and not able to focus on one thing for too long. That sounds mean but I could probably compare the pace of this game to something like the Rise of Skywalker, just extremely fast without taking a second to really breathe even in the “slower” moments. It just doesn’t give you a lot of time to marinate on anything that happens & it feels more like a tie-in game for the movie at times, I saw the movie a while back & I’ve completely forgotten it by now so I’m not 100% on that accusation. Also, the final level of this game introduces some annoying mechanics that weren’t present in the rest of the game up until that point & it grinded the pacing & my enjoyment to a screeching halt. Everything else is really good though! The visuals are stunning to this day, especially with the new PS5 performance update, it never slowed down on me once no matter how many bolts were on screen. The gameplay is so fun too, there’s so many weapons to play with and swapping between them on the fly to decimate big groups of enemies was always a joy, even if the sensitive control scheme made me misclick more than a few times in the heat of battle. The moment to moment gameplay made me feel strangely nostalgic too, like I said I have 0 experience with this franchise so I’m not sure how the geniuses at Insomniac managed that but they did a great job! I miss simple games like these. The humor is also pretty good too, nothing drop dead hilarious, but it doesn’t take itself too seriously and I always enjoy games like that. Played this right before Rift Apart comes out so I have super high hopes for it now! I can’t wait to see where Insomniac takes Ratchet & Clank next.… Expand

    Ratchet & Clank (2016) is a reimagining of Ratchet and Clank (2002) that removes much of the crass humour and content of the original to make way for polish and more family friendly gags.

    Although this game guts much of what there is to love about the original some choice new additions and the strong bones of this series prevent this title from becoming unpleasant.

    Ratch and clank is a remake of the game released in the ps2 era. This game is really fun. Since the ammo of the weapons is always low, it prevents you from getting bored by constantly playing with different weapons (just like in doom). Platform items are a bit short. The graphics are excellent and the story is simple.

    The game had a good gameplay that is complex and even though i played it 5 times the gameplay never gets old and the story was average the regular boy who looks up to susprberoes and wants to join them butthe gameplay was good and the game has alot of good challenge like getting the rhino overall the game is 7/10

    A short little game that I would recommend to everyone who wants about 10 hours of shooting fun. There are a lot of different and creative weapons that fit in every play style. However, there are a few critics: 1. There are a few puzzles that you need to solve to get further in the game. They are skippable, but you don't get any puzzle related trophies when you do that.     One of the worst Ratchet games. The only thing it did better than the first game that it did a remake on was the ability to level up weapons, sraffing and a few other tings. The fact that it was a remake only hold it back. They should have done a all new game insted.

    This game is genuinely pretty garbage if you look past the gunplay, which is unsurprisingly very solid. The story is infinitely worse than any other game in the franchise and the cutscenes are just cut and pasted from the film. The conversations between the two leads and the NPC's are so stilted and poorly animated it is almost unwatchable. Really disappointing overall.

    This was a great game. I wish they didn't remove loads of the settings thou like sensitivity and so on which were present even on the PS2. Not to say this game wasn't fun thou. I really enjoyed playing it and it had all the fun you would expect a ratchet and clank game to have. I felt the grind rails were a bit basic and it always slowed down when you needed to jump or hit a bomb off whichThis was a great game.     Another thing I dislike with new Ratchet and clank games is it doesn't count your completion count anymore. On Ps2 every time you completed the game it would add it to your completion count. Everything I didn't like with this game thou (Bar the completion count) has been improved upon in the new Rift apart game which I also highly recommend you should check out!    … Expand

    I'm not always a fan of the self-aware meta style of a lot of animated movies these days (which this game series clearly channels in its performances and designs), but this game looked and played great. Don't even like 3D platformer/shooters so much, but I had a good time with this one.

    The graphics is polished and the game runs smoothly.
    I'm an adult man and wasn't sure I would like a "childish" game but wow, R&C is so fun! The levels are simple but well designed, the enemies are okay, the difficulty level is well-balanced, but what makes this game great and fun are the weapons. The story is okay too, although not so    I played Ratchet & Clank on a PS4 slim in 2021.

    I thoroughly enjoyed the nostalgia trip this game gave me. Though you can play through it rather quickly, it still left its mark. Leveling up every weapon to the max was a lot more fun than expected.

    Eu nunca joguei o Ratchet & Clank original de PS2, então esse jogo para mim é uma completa novidade. Não sou muito fã da abordagem pique 'hack-and-slash' dele, em que vários inimigos vão aparecendo e você precisa derrotar todos eles para avançar, mas os gráficos, os sons e a jogabilidade (principalmente a variedade de armas) são todos muito bem feitos.

    The game was great to even pass it 3 times and acquired the platinum in the process. In addition, I liked the bosses, weapons, and the storyline. therefore, those playstation fans who have never played a ratchet and clank game before, really recommend this for a start.

    First game where 30 fps doesn't feel clunky, still 60 would be better. Game is pretty much like watching a cartoon and pressing some buttons.

This makes the experience of playing through the game highly succinct - as mentioned before, it's a fantastic 40 hours, after which you set the game down and probably never touch it again.

    If you are looking for an excellent, succinct adventure, I cannot recommend Ratchet and Clank enough. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a game that encourages multiple playthroughs, however. It is an excellent re-imagining of the first game, and will likely satisfy most people who pick it up.    … Expand

    Good 3D action-platformer. Incredible visuals. Nice cartoonish style and cutscenes. Interesting fights. Challenging enough. And entertaining enough. I don’t know how Sony makes such graphics possible on past gen. Already bought rift apart to play on ps5.

    Plot-wise this game is a mess, granted this just adapts the story from the movie. The gameplay is amazing tho, I am very interested on what Insomniac Games has in store for the future of RandC continuing from Into The Nexus.

La jugabilidad es muy divertida ya que puedes usar diversas armas y eso la hace muy variada, añadiendo un diseño de mundos muy correcto hace que la experiencia no sea aburrida en absoluto. Quizá el juego peca un poco de corto y me he quedado con ganas de más.     Ratchet & Clank disappointed me in many many ways.
    First of all, the pacing is absolutely awful; the main story gets somewhat engaging only in it's last hour, the rest of the game is completely forgettable and nothing really happens.
    The character development and interactions are non-existent, the rest of the game is an experience that doesn't have any depth and there's barely any content apart from the main story.
    The movie cutscenes are implemented in the worst ways possible, making the pacing even worse than it already is.
    The humor is surprisingly horrible for the most part, which I didn't expect at all.
    Also, the mission design, the puzzles and Clank's sections are all extremely monotonous, repetitive and boring, which negatively affect the gameplay loop of the game. As for the gameplay itself, you can finish the entire game just by holding down the attack button to kill the waves, and the aiming feels very stiff for some reason.

    Pros:
    + Beautiful visuals
    + Varied combat system
    + Impressive weapon variety

    Cons:
    - Major pacing issues
    - Completely unmemorable main questline
    - Absent character development and interactions, and unfunny humor
    - Lacks depth and content
    - Movie cutscenes
    - Dull gameplay loop

    Best game of the franchise. It's better than Rift Apart, because the weapons are better designed, and the gunplay and gunfield feels pretty inmersive. The kinesthetic is perfect, and the enemies put a lot of pressure on you every time on the most difficult settings. There's a lot of variety of planets. It's like something between Ratchet and Clank 1 and Ratchet and Clank Up your Arsenal.

    I am a massive fan of the original Ratchet & Clank. This is my first R&C since the PS2 era and thought it would be best compared to these games as this has obviously taken inspiration from the original with the guns, maps, and in some aspects, gameplay.

    The graphics, guns, animations are all amazing. It's exactly what I thought the original game looked like when I was a kid. Such smooth gameplay (in what is needed with a game like this trying to dodge bullets.)

    Fighting in your ship however is no where near as satisfying as the original. It's very tedious and repetitive and they completely missed the mark with that one.

    A massive downside of this game is the 'hacking device' which is the 'Tresspasser'. I played the game on hard and the challenges for this do change depending on the difficulty you're playing on and for someone who loves puzzle games like Portal I have to say what a terrible mini-game this is. I had to look up the solutions because the challenge isn't figuring out how to complete it, it's literally 'randomly spin these different circles and hope I complete it' compared to the previous R&C games where some skill was involved. A frustrating part of the game which took off a full rating point because it's not an enjoyable mini-game...

    The weapon upgrade system is much improved which different varients available after finishing the game and playing on NG+. There's many upgrade nodes for each gun and for each time you level the gun up, the more appear.

    Overal if you enjoyed the original R&C's you would still like this game, just maybe not as much.    … Expand

    The story is incredibly boring, it's the most basic and uninteresting story that tries to be something bigger but ultimately falls flat by the very choppy pacing, and what the hell is wrong with these cutscenes that were taken from the movie, they are so out of place and very abrupt, it's like they don't even belong in the game.

    The planets look great but there's not much to do in them, there are some mini games and I did enjoy few of them but I never felt motivated to genuinely explore and get lost, it's a very linear experience.

    The best thing about the game is the environment and the graphics, the game looks really good for most of the time like an animated movie for children, but that's the only thing that truly impressed me.

    As for the puzzles... uhhh well, nope, I didn't really enjoy them, fortunately there aren't many of them, it's just that they could've been shorter because they slow down the action.

    Also I just wanna point out that I didn't even laugh a single time throughout the entirety of the game, in fact I forgot I was supposed to laugh, the jokes don't land at all, they're embarrassing and very cringe.

    It's barely a mediocre game in my opinion, it's right below average with few redeeming qualities, but it could have been significantly better. It's just not fun for me, and I can't help but feel unsatisfied, granted I do think that some people might enjoy it more than I did, because I was left severely disappointed.

    I went into this with high expectations. My first PlayStation was a PS5 and this was my first ratchet and clank. I played this game in 2023 and honestly I thought it was just alright. The story is lackluster, the movement is clunky, the exploration pretty linear, and the boss fights pretty rinse and repeat. I also found the save points to be pretty bad.     The guns are cool and funny, but that is the extent of how interesting the combat is. Movement feels bad which surprises me for an insomniac game.

    Maybe it was just me but it also seemed like the animations in the cutscenes dropped in quality massively by the end of the game.

    On the positive though: cool guns, pretty graphics over all, the worlds are cool, art style is awesome, and the game is really well polished.

    Recently I started playing the older games after this one which I played a few years ago, which immediately brings me to the music. I know this review is wonky, so I'll get to the point.

    I like this game it's a 10/10 in every aspect, graphics gameplay, character visuals, story, and even the music, but that's why I'm doing this. I did some very expert research and it turns out the PS2 soundtrack is better than the new one for this game, so I was gonna give this game 10 but some elements of the PS2 game, very small elements make this game Incomplete, and close to perfect.

    Oh and also on the performance side Ratchet and Clank did break my PS4 on 2 occasions, so I'll factor that in as well in the rating.

    9/10, a Superb game for any new or existing player to get into the Ratchet and Clank universe.

    This review is late and most probably won't help anyone, but it's just for History's sake, to Gratify Insomniac for their Efforts on games recently, and In the past.    … Expand

    This sim is a quality and fun ratchet, graphics are perfect, gameplay is perfect up and the sound design is so good that I went crazy.
    This game simply has no downsides.

    Third person platform game that's very reminiscent of the host of 3D platformers that proliferated on the Nintendo 64, particularly Jet Force Gemini. With a far more powerful platform it's a much more polished and playable affair complete with a Pixar style backstory.

    Fantastic video game! Super fun as exciting and, above all, fascinating.
    Kudos to the developers for hunting this pearl in an increasingly barren market. Well done!

I like the game a lot but I'm stuck in one spot and I'm very annoyed because now I have to start the game over again because the spot that it keeps bringing to me to is a dead end and I can't jump nowhere or go anywhere but jump off the edge and die and then it brings me right back to the same spot again even when I get out of the game and start it over the next day to continue thinking it's going to bring me back to my ship No it brings me right back to that same spot again and it's a dead end so I can't jump anywhere or go anywhere or go back to my ship it brings me right back there and I have to die because it's not allowing me to go back to anywhere else so I wish they would fix this because I don't think it's fair that I'm so far in the game and now I have to start it all over again because I'm stuck in that spot...… Expand

    As my first Ratchet and Clank title, I was consistently impressed and engaged by the colorful visuals, vast array of fun weapons, and scale of each planet with their collectibles and simple puzzles. This game maintains satisfying pacing without much filler while never overstaying its welcome. There are also few boss battles, yet what is here is of great quality, especially the final boss.As my first Ratchet and Clank title, I was consistently impressed and engaged by the colorful visuals, vast array of fun weapons, and scale of each planet with their collectibles and simple puzzles. This game maintains satisfying pacing without much filler while never overstaying its welcome. There are also few boss battles, yet what is here is of great quality, especially the final boss.     No miento me pase este juego 7 veces consecutivas, no dura mucho en realidad pero es buenísimo, en ningún momento me aburrí, me enganche como loco a esta joya, sus gráficos son buenísimos, tiene unas armas grandiosas, cada planeta tiene una personalidad única y muy bien diseñada, me encantó

    It's so funny and I enjoyed playing this game. However, I would modify some things. I didn't like tha camera when Ratchet was flying with the jetpack, it's seems you couldn't manage. Despite this small problem, graphics and dubbing is perfect. In conclusion, it's a nice remake. GOOD JOB!!

    This game is one of the best gun games for me. It is full of ideas. I enjoyed it and it has a rating of 9.2 out of 10 and I want to finish it again on a hard level.

    The game was actually pretty good but I think it doesn't have the replayment materials that I prefer in games It totally deserve a 7/10

    Ratchet & Clank looks and plays as well as it ever has. Fans will enjoy the nostalgic journey through familiar planets, while newcomers will appreciate the chaotic and creative weaponry. But for the ninth game in a franchise that built its name on unique weapons, it’s a shame that the arsenal just coasts on fan-favorites. Insomniac played it safe.
