    Ratchet and clank is and amazing game with amazing graphics! A game for both young and old and i was pleased to find it could be very challenging a times if you turn the difficulty up. The animation is so good its like you are apart of a movie.

    I never played any game of the series before, so i cannot compare this one to original's. But i liked this one very much, game looks like movie that came out same year on big screen and plays really fun.

It takes the characters that we fell in love with long ago, and sets them off on their most gorgeous quest yet. The deep and rewarding weapon system, beautiful and varied worlds, and charming-as-heck story make it an adventure that anyone with a PlayStation 4 should strap in for.

    Absolutely love this game! The graphics are stunning, the gameplay is exciting, and upgrading weapons is addictive. I found myself laughing numerous times with the great storytelling and being completely immersed in the characters and open worlds. Can't wait to give this fantastic game another run via Challenge Mode!

    An astongishgly beautifutful game that bears its lineage all the way back to spyro on the PS1. Very varied levels. Some lements of combat get a bit repeitive but ovralll good

    I have never played a Ratchet & Clank game before this and playing this makes me want to play every game in the franchise. This is by far one of my favorite games this year (2016). Story, graphics, game play, everything is on point. With all of this the one and only down side? Game length. If this game was only 1-2 hours longer I would feel satisfied.     I would give this game a 9/10 except for two things: 1) the cutscenes have a noticeable stutter and 2) the overused, cliche' faux hero voice of Captain Qwark. I noticed that game recording is paused during cut-scenes, and its possible that these scenes are from the Ratchet & Clank movie. I have not seen the movie, so I can't say for sure. If true, I hope the movie doesn't stutter like this. The voice issue might be mine alone. I just hate that kind of voice. The other characters were delightful, especially Clank.

    Gameplay was just as brilliant as I remember these types of games. I never played Ratchet & Clank or the similar sounding Jak & Daxter, but I have played games like them. There is a nice mix of platforming and shooting that feels like Mario 64 had a child with Quake. The weapons are insanely creative and fun, especially the Groovitron. Pro tip, max out the rocket launcher weapons for boss battles. Also a pro tip, max out the boost to Raritanium drops so you can upgrade guns faster. The environments also look great, with colorful, shiny, and well drawn scenery. After finishing the game, you unlock challenge mode and can unlock even more devastating upgrades. All in all, this is the kind of reboot the world deserves.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is a good reboot of the first game. It has lived up to the original with making it's own unique game. It has a story that works but unfortunately it could be more adult like which is what long term fans would really miss. And the twist where Nefarious is the villain could've been built up foreshadowing the events. It has humour within it's levels however with the weapons for example it uses and Quark's narration is amazing. Speaking of the voice cast they all deliver their lines either ranging from good to amazing except for Bella Thorne who will grate on you after a while. And the weapons are not the best we have seen in the franchise but is definitely worthy to be a good standard and the pixeliser is a weapon I hope to stay seeing. The games difficulty is very easy for any fan but it makes sense why since this is very orientated to a kid audience. The soundtrack is good but not as good as the PS2 era. The game I wish could've been longer and maybe instead of merging planets it could've made them separate with their own unique twists. Not only this, although the graphics are drop dead amazing still to this day one of the best looking PS4 games it could've made more of it with huge space fights. Overall this game is a blast from start to finish but could've used a bit more maturity within it, although it isn't good as the PS3 trilogy it is still a fun adventure to play through… Expand

    Graficamente muy bonito, un juego que desmuestra el potencial de ps4 y que no hacen falta graficos realistas para que un juego se vea impresionante. Parece una pelicula de Pixar. Tiene todo lo que nos dio esta saga en ps2 y mejorado, incluyendo cosas nuevas, muy recomendado.

Und das alles in einer makellosen audiovisuellen Umsetzung mit flüssigen Übergängen zwischen Spiel- und Filmsequenzen. Schade ist allerdings, dass bei der Rückbesinnung auf auch an Rätseln gespart wurde, die Abschnitte meist linear und überschaubar gestaltet wurden und die Flugsteuerung etwas zu sensibel reagiert. Doch selbst wenn Veteranen abseits der neuen Bosse kaum überrascht werden, ist das eine sehr gute PS4-Premiere. Aufgrund der eher unrühmlichen Premiere von Knack und spärlicher Konkurrenz ist Ratchet & Clank zudem der beste Plattformer dieser Konsolengeneration.… Expand

    I sold my Xbox One for a PlayStation 4 just for this game. It did not disappoint . This is a great action platforming game even if it's based on a mediocre movie.

    Pros:
    - Unique and varied weapons
    - Levels are the perfect length
    - Great aesthetic
    - Unquestionably a return to form

    Cons:
    - Bosses are boring
    - Story is a mess due to the movie cutscenes
    - Clank does not do much
    - Gunplay feels a little sloppy at first
    - Some sidequests are simply not fun

    Most definitely not a 10/10 game. I would say this game ranks below several others in its own series.

    That being said, this game is very fun to play so long as you know what to expect going into it. The game does not offer too much more than its predecessors but that is not its intention. It succeeds in being faithful to the light hearted nature of the rest of the series' installments, which is for me half of the reason I enjoy these games so much, the other half being the customization and adaptive opportunity of choosing the right customized weapon at the right moment to win in the easiest way (this game succeeds at this as well, perhaps better than some of its most recent predecessors).

    The look of the game itself is stunning, and certainly contributes to the playing experience, as all the colorful atmospheres and interesting variations in level design make it one of those game that are truly enjoyable to play through. I enjoyed especially the task of trying to find the golden bolts and the occasional frustration that came with that. When going back through already accomplished levels I didn't feel so much a sense of repetition as I did a sense of success, being able to stomp on familiar territory with a more prestigious purpose. And the settings are so bedazzling that exploration is really an almost calming pastime.

    That being said, this game might come up short to players who are not already in love with Ratchet and Clank or who are too much in love with the original Ratchet and Clank. To players new to the series, the game might feel somewhat boring in its simplicity. To players who loved the original with all their heart, the game will suffer a similar feeling of being dumbed down. The old Ratchet and Clank games always threw in some risqué jokes intended for a more mature audience and always managed to maintain an adult undertone, despite all appearances to the contrary. This game loses that aspect of it since it is trying to accommodate its devolution into a children's movie. To a degree, both criticisms are justified. The game is certainly simpler than its original titles.

    But that being said, I think part of its simplicity is derived from the ease of its playability. This game's controls might be the most perfected out of the whole series.

    Taken into a full perspective, this game succeeds at bringing Ratchet and Clank to the new console and perfecting the atmosphere and controls of the series. It provides an entertaining experience with the same customization opportunities had in the previous entries, along with giving players several new innovations. The game manages to keep its charm even if it loses some of its wit. Certainly not the best in the series, but deserving of an 8/10.    … Expand

    A really nice jump n run adventure which makes a lot of fun, looks beautiful and has a cinematic story. On PS5 it runs at 60 fps thanks to an update. All in all a must-have for Playstation fans.

    Great game for both existing and new fans of the series. Visuals are stunning, gameplay flows very nicely, with a good set of weapons available, along with a nice story based on the original game. My only downside is I wish the story was longer, however I still got a great amount of playtime with my value for money and with the challenge mode I can come back to it and start over with myGreat game for both existing and new fans of the series.     A masterpiece. Much better than God of War and Uncharted series. Highly recommend this game. It's like Spyro, but improved. Best PS4 exclusive i played.

    Combat is boatloads of fun: visceral, diverse, and exciting. Hearing enemies chatter to each other and call out Ratchet’s weapons is also a great joy that was absent in the first game.
    So what’s the horrible flaw, the wrench in the gear? That’s Ratchet himself. The biggest flaw with this game is Ratchet’s characterization. While this may seem petty, I cannot understate how much this marred my experience.
    This new Ratchet seems like he was written to be palatable to three year olds. He is friendly and good natured…but otherwise completely flat. What really gets me, he never expresses any significant fear or frustration, which can really kill the sense of visceral excitement the game otherwise generates. When I am fighting for my life against hordes of blarg, with only 20% health, and hear my gun click, the perfect thing to kill the mood is hearing Ratchet say a very non-chalant “Oh boy, out of ammo!”
    If Ratchet were an experienced super-hero, this subdued attitude might have worked, but as it is, it totally kills the sense of desperation I feel as a rookie hero blasting through an army of Blarg against the odds.    … Expand

Originally I bought it for my younger brother so that he had something to play on my console but funnily enough I ended up loving the game more than him.     good a remake can be when its rebuilt from the ground up for new hardware. It’s a must play for the fans and a great entry point for newcomers as well.

    Ratchet & Clank looks and plays as well as it ever has. Fans will enjoy the nostalgic journey through familiar planets, while newcomers will appreciate the chaotic and creative weaponry. But for the ninth game in a franchise that built its name on unique weapons, it’s a shame that the arsenal just coasts on fan-favorites. Insomniac played it safe.

    Insomniac Games did not just remake this classic platformer. They boldly bombarded it with ideas and then rebuilt it pixel by pixel using methods unknown 13 years ago. The result is magnificent. [06/2016, p.50]
