    Best FPS singleplayer shooter ever made...Most optimized open world game since "The Witcher 3".

    Towns with npcs activity's makes the world feel much more alive than fallout 4 and a constant stream of power flowing towards your player every hour. The player character gets more a more ridiculous power making it a dream to fly around on the flying motorcycles looking for goodies. If    Best FPS singleplayer shooter ever made...Most optimized open world game since "The Witcher 3".

    If this game gets rated less than fallout 4 there is a problem...It does everything that game does but better. Without base building. Writing...combat...locations...npcs...towns...driving...driving flying vehicles...and it still runs better.

    It locks it framerate on intel with so little variation its impressive.

    Flying a motorcycle threw a dense jungle at 200mph and fight 30 people with constant explorations
    the game never dropped below 100 fps on my 1070.

    If you have a high refresh rate monitor and a good pc, this is the best optimized open world game i have ever played...and I 100% complete The Witcher 3...3 times.    … Expand

    Rage 2 is..........fine. I haven't come across anything that was done terribly wrong, but it only does one thing very well. I know people are kind of mixed on it but I thought the shooting felt great. So much so that it is really the only reason I kept playing. I liked all the different vehicles ok but I found myself liking the boots on the ground gameplay MUCH better. It was nice toRage 2 is..........fine. I haven't come across anything that was done terribly wrong, but it only does one thing very well. I know people are kind of mixed on it but I thought the shooting felt great. So much so that it is really the only reason I kept playing. I liked all the different vehicles ok but I found myself liking the boots on the ground gameplay MUCH better. It was nice to have something get me around the map faster though. Like I said, it's fine. If you like first person shooters you cant go wrong.     In the year 2019 you simply can't release a forced 1st person game anymore. People don't like forced 1st person games. So don't do it. You always, ALWAYS add an optional 3rd person view option in any game. Because if you don't, your game will not get far. Just don't do it. Hope devs learn and especially CDPR too.

    If you're looking for a master class in story telling, go watch Game of Thrones.     Great game. The gameplay is amazing, but if you are planning on buying this game for the story or driving, buy something else. Those aspects are not the selling point of the game and probably not it's strong points either.

    After only a couple hours in, I was enjoying the hell out of Rage 2, the gameplay is enjoyable with awesome special moves and weapons. It's combat, for me, is fast paced and I can bounce around a bandit camp punching, shooting and launching enemies in all directions. The story is about as complex as its predecessor, nothing spectacular but a good enough excuse to bash in heads and throwAfter only a couple hours in, I was enjoying the hell out of Rage 2, the gameplay is enjoyable with awesome special moves and weapons. It's combat, for me, is fast paced and I can bounce around a bandit camp punching, shooting and launching enemies in all directions. The story is about as complex as its predecessor, nothing spectacular but a good enough excuse to bash in heads and throw bodies off of buildings. I'm now around three quarters of the way through this game and while it is repetitive with the activities, the way I can go about them is plentiful enough to keep my interest. This game feels like Mad Max's younger and more immature sibling, and I don't think I'd have enjoyed this as much if it took itself as seriously as Mad Max. The title is accurate, I can go around releasing pent-up aggression by being overpowering on random baddies. There are plenty of games that are story-driven, miserable, woe-is-me tales so it is a breath of fresh air to have a single player game that's just a bit of a laugh. I've enjoyed this game so much that I've made an account just to review it. I feel this game has a bad rep because it isn't aiming for the drama and political conflict in games like The Last Of Us but if we look to movies, the best ones aren't necessarily the best reviewed, Rage 2 is a little gem that I will keep playing to the end. P. S. I've never had to set foot in the microtransactions in the game.… Expand

    Story wise, there is absolutely no story that is interesting. The introduction of the game is just wierd and you have no clue who you are or why the hell you are doing what your're doing. The overall acting of the characters is extremely bad, including the voice-overs. The graphics are so bad on pc, you don't believe the first time you start playing. I literally, went back to the settings menu, thinking I forgot to save my video-settings, but I was all activated.

    Driving your car is horribly, even after upgrading the care a bit. The missions are boring as hell, and i mean the main missions. It all comes down to go their and kill everything in a world that is empty as hell! This is just DOOM in a sandbox with additional skills like a double jump and more of that stuff. I'm glad I've not yet finished days gone, because I refunded this game.

    Taking hints from Doom 2016 and The madmax game this game truly deserves your attention.

    Rage 2 it’s a fun game in the combat but it isn’t Rage 1. The story is very generic followed by 70+ years after Rage 1. Rage 2 is a colourful neon mess if your on LSD as it makes the textures way to blurry and visual bugs. And yes micro transactions are skins sadly .

    This is ID software at their best since 1993 Doom. The combat is excellent with tons of guns and abilities. As usual ID software delivers the best graphics in the industry both technically and artistically with tons of bright and vibrant colors. The car controls and combat while not perfect are still a nice diversion from shooting. Rage 2’s most surprising aspect is the story. It blendsThis is ID software at their best since 1993 Doom.     Great game for gun play wanted more of a story with it but all around ok game. Still thank Mad Max was better. Cars feel slow and frame rate drop happened a few time. But this is my review hope it helps making your choose.

    Rage 2 has been a blast for me thus far. The gun play, skills, and general craziness of combat are some of the best I've experienced this generation. The game thus far on my PS4 Pro has ran 1080p 60 fps with no drops and the visuals are great. The world is huge and the different environments are really cool. The story has been fun thus far and I like how goofy this game can be. My biggestRage 2 has been a blast for me thus far. The gun play, skills, and general craziness of combat are some of the best I've experienced this generation.     Just the shooting mechanics alone make this game solid. The music is legit. Missions and story aren't great, but if you are playing an ID game looking for a riveting story line, you might have mental issues.

    ITS's AWESOME!, PURE ADRENALINE!
    Everything about the game just feels right in my opinion.
    If you liked the 2016 Doom Reboot, don't wait, and get RAGE 2 for the platform of your choice.

    I've played Rage 2 only 4 hours so far, but i have enjoyed every moment. I'm a BIG Borderlands fan and this has very similar crazy vibes. Story seems very lame but this game is all for action and excitement.
    I don't understand the complains about graphics or fps drops. I got PS4 pro and got nothing to complain. Not a 10/10 game but this does not deserve a single 0 either.

    First off, rage 2 is probably more like an 8.5/10, but I had to try and balance out all the crazy hate being spread about it. Go watch ACG review it on YouTube for some great detailed points. I would agree that it's a little odd for a game in 2019 to not have 4K at least as an option (So many games let you choose "resolution" or "performance" in the options).     Moving on, the gameplay is so much fun and is clearly the star of this game! The guns, equipment and abilities allow for so many ways to destroy your enemies. I found myself always chasing the next upgrade or power. There is SO MUCH to upgrade here it can be overwhelming at first, but once you decide on your favorites you can pretty quickly become an ultimate killing machine. The game knows you want to be powerful and it doesn't stop you from getting there however you want. When you do die, it's simple to rethink your approach and use a completely different set of guns and powers to correct your mistake.
    One thing I loved, and maybe not everybody will, is that you can carry everything at all times! You don't have to worry about what should I equip and what should I leave at a base, it's ALL with you ALL the time and is easy to switch between.
    I didn't expect a ground breaking story (it definitely is not one), but that's not why I wanted Rage 2. This game is about the freedom to play how you want and is great whether you pick it up for a 5 minute fix or a 5 hour session.
    Don't listen to the negativity about Rage 2, it's a blast to play and my only gripe this far is that I wish they had given me the option to experience it all in 4K on my PS4 Pro.
    Again, I say 8.5/10, losing a bit for the lack of 4K in a generation where it has become standard.    … Expand

    Avalanche Studios haven’t failed to develop yet another pile of crap, Rage 2 is only slightly better then Just Cause 4, everything is bad from horrible graphics to some of the worst voice acting in history, it’s meant to run at 60 FPS haha, on the PS4 Pro, if you play it everyday for a week, then tally it up, it might add up to 60, just terrible.     Not sure why the bad reviews. Max Max by Avalanche received the same reception for no reason. And that in my personnel opinion was one of my favorite games of this generation. This game is not deep is story but its not meant to be an RPG and Fallout it is not. Its a beautiful open world and set out to be what its meant to be.     Story and Voice acting is really low standards for a single player game. The combat in the game is close to another generic shooter game and it feels really boring or lacking in many ways.

    Unfortunately some reviewers here on Metacritic are like the media, one news caster makes a comment then all the others talking heads repeat it. I myself usually don’t give many reviews but all the fake reviews and trolls are destroying this site. A give it a Solid 9. They delivered on what we were told and more. The location go from beautiful to creepy but I love the fact most have containers and such to find( some get tricky to find but it adds to exploration) The characters are over the top and most make you laugh. ( in a good way) This is a FPS at heart and that is top of the mountain, guns are fast ,tight, reactive and feel awesome stopping power. If you enjoy shooting, exploration, looting and kicking butt Rage 2 is it. Again a solid 9 , I read and laugh at reviews and what they thought it should be not what we were told and is. The story good for a bloody crazy shooter I knew before going as much, Last of Us this is not the writing fits the world of Rage 2 very well.… Expand

    So my info on this:

    - Yes there is a 30 fps lock on base consoles, but its stable 30 fps which nowhere hinders the game experience.
    - Input lag ? No there is no input lag, what this user must have experienced is known as AUTOAIM, nothing more nothing less, or he cant shoot, maybe..
    - Blurry Image ? It is reported that on consoles it looks a little bit washed out, but not even close to a ps3 game, typical stupid answer from people who dont know what to say.
    - Graphics from first rage. Should I even say anything about this ? If you compare both games than they are night and day, maybe some people should get their eyes checked.

    "There is no objective reason to buy this game on base consoles
    it's unplayable" - I also play on base ps4 and Im already at least 12 hours or more in, its more than playable and I didnt even had any framedrops.

    Also beside this:
    + Pretty good gameplay itself ( wheter it be the core gun play with all the perks or it be the racing part especially when killing convois )
    + Cool open world with distinct biomes
    + Overall a pretty cool game where you can tell that id had some part on it especially with some enemies and the guns themself.    … Expand

    it seems the game takes more hatred than it actually deserve possibly because of micro-transactions and all that staff . i am not a fan of transactions neither though i think that still this shouldn't have so low score .     Genuinely not a big fan of MOST recent open world games because they all feel exactly the same but after playing this game for a good amount of time I realize how hyperbolic alot of the unjustified toxicity and pseudo-criticism is for this game. Shouldn't be too long before it drops to the $30-40 range....They really want to push it being an LMFAO Id game, but its not Id exists in name only now and this was clearly developed more by Avalanche..Days Gone was worth $60 this game is only worth $40 at best....Anyone claiming its a 10 and or better than Days Gone is clearly a troll Xbot or PC fanboy account, hence why so many seem to have 1 or 2 reviews and they happen to be 0s and they're for PS games....… Expand

    Like the first, Rage 2 is a sleeper hit. Great FPS gameplay and post apocalyptic setting. Like most Id shooters, the setting is great but the story is barebones. Some audio bugs and less than perfect performance bring it down a notch. But, overall a great open world shooter.

On PS4 Pro you can play at 60 fps and even though it's locked at 1080p, the world looks cool and it incentivizes the player to explore. Vehicles feel a little clunky at first but as you get the upgrades, handling improves.The gameplay is amazing, it has a huge skill tree, narrative-wise better than most single-player shooters this gen.     So far the best action shooter I've ever played in my life. I had big hope for this game and Im truly happy to not be disappointed my expectations we're high and so the game is exactly even better than my expectations

    I heard the game was short well I got 6h of gameplay and im still at the very first area of the map when you play the last level of difficulty you got a solid challenge AI is great they come to you trow grenade everytime forces you to use your skills when you're shoot you must be faster cuz it takes like 2 second they shoot you. The skills are balanced you have a very good amount of satisfying skills each skills can be level up and upgraded 4-5 times. You got other skills you unlock when you meet characters in story mission. Eight gun upgradable 4-5 times with different perks AND you can upgrade your véhicule too and you got plenty of véhicule. Shooting mecanic are on top of the game the gore system is impressive you can cut head or leg of your ennemy with yiur wingstick oh and you can upgrade that too and so your grenade. There's approximately more than 100 things upgradable in this game. Bullet impact wow only problem controller vibration is to weak and unfortunately we can't change that anywere. For a shooter like that a hood feeling on the controller is a must I hope they will make an upgrade for that.

    Content mission exploration you got differenr ennemy camp " arche " " sentinelle " sorry don't know the word in english and many other place you can explore. Im not far in the game right now butI do hope we gonna have a better ennemy variety cuz for now its always the same.

    Driving is fun really but could have been better ...

    Story look better than the first thatus great even if I didn't expected a great story im not disappointed by it.

    Graphic are great some things like tree are disgusting but by example ennemy at the beginning of the game those monster were very impressive texture were very good and more beautiful than any game in 2019 right now some aspect are top notch other like by example trees are ugly overall its beautiful.

    Overall its a very good game that i have a fun like i never had for a long time for an action shooter. Im.ok with reviewers most of the time not everytime but most of the time but 76 its weak it deserves at least a 85. Despite is flaws every game have flaws the action is very near perfection graphic are good overall exploration could be a little bit better but still good upgrading skills weapons etc is near perfection so this game should had a 85. My personnal score its 90 because it was suppose to be an huge action shooter in an open world and they deliver it the best way they could have done. I rated a 10 just to try to level up the note cuz troll putting 0 because because of input lag ( nothing close to have an input lag ) graphic of the first rage ? Goddamn it its a mile better new generations new engine first rage look like **** compared to this so troll puting ridiculous reviews get offf the internet please.

    And for people who talking about blurry image im sad for you as for myself I had absolutely NOTHING like that. Graphic 70% on what the console can do thats a little bit severe its not the most beautiful game so far but it is beautiful for a recent game and more beautiful than many AAA game especially the ennemies and boss very impressive.

    This is what you get on base ps4:
    •30 fps lock
    •significant input lag (due to fps lock & inability to disable v-synk) which makes it hard to aim
    •blurry image like its an early ps3 game
    •graphics from first rage
    There is no objective reason to buy this game on base consoles
    it's unplayable
    ps4 pro version is fine though

    • Great amount of customization, upgrades, abilities, opportunities and skills in game. This game takes all the experiences from the best single-player shooters and does one of the best experiences for last years. I really enjoy both opening and using new abilities. Unique feeling of how "you were" and how you are now after a couple of enhancements- just gives you very satisfying feeling. It makes you research and rethink your own gameplay style, reinventing it over and over again until it comes to your ideal style.

    • Really satisfying and cozy art-direction, and vision of post-apocalyptic madness. At the same time some levels and company moments of the game are having pretty serious atmosphere, which also feels good. Plot is basic but it's actually what such games need. Characters are simple, but have unique charisma each.

    • Driving options aren't really variable, but generally took the best from Avalanche's Mad Max Experience and is a good addition to dilute infantry shooting with some death-race elements or just to effectively destroy enemies in bases, which is fun according to how unique is each machine unit by shooting, driving and abilities criterias + deep customization. Don't wait for it to become the main mechanics. It's just very satisfying addition.

    • Good controls over the hero, intuitive interface, stylish glitch effects, okay-plot that absolutely fits games aims. This game is about gameplay-fun, mad-max-like vibe and good art-direction.

    • Design of the world is also understandable. Some people believe if you made Open World - it has to be about adventure, exploring, RPG and life simulation. Well, I love this way but there's another concept. RAGE2 didn't even ever try to pretend to be like RPG-open world about exploration. Open World here plays a role of an option for you to replace load times between company missions on activities, so you could have even more shooting and driving fun, collect resources, find upgrades and do side-quests. Just to have some free-time fun still based on same shooting/driving experience. No more, no less. And if you understand open world the way it's meant to be understood - you won't really complain about it. It achieves it's aims.

    I love taking over bases, find and open stuff which increases my hours of core game experience. A very good time spending between main story lines. So don't wait from open world stuff it didn't aim and promise to achieve. It's an opportunity to have some more fun for you IF YOU WISH (because no one makes you grind the world, it's optional). Maybe if you give this game a chance - sequel could potentially enhance it's open world concept into something you actually wait for. With personal quests, research, exploration and life simulation. Yet - suggested concept perfectly fits game's design.

    For me Rage2 successfully achieved all goals devs actually wanted to achieve. Don't judge games for stuff it doesn't even has as a target to bring anyone

    Minuses:

    • Why didn't you give console versions more manual control options? I mean, it's 2019 year, it's time to take console shooting a bit more serious with giving more opportunities to player. Deadzone, responsive curve, acceleration etc. These options should be available for shooter-core games.

    • Game really lacks like sandbox sabotage mechanics, to wreak some chaos from the shadows. Kinda stealth but not necessary in a primitive orthodox meaning. At least something very basic. It just kinda feels generic: entering battles one way over and over again, while you can always take at least couple of enemies without warning. I don't ask for deep-stealth experience, cuz game is about different rhythm. But at least to have detection mechanics, so until being detected I could play a bit with stuff to enter the battle with prepared actions or by neutralizing key enemies, leaving secondaries around to fight traditional way.

    • IDK why so bad optimization on base PS4. I personally play on PS4 Pro. But you know, ps4 pro, xone x and cross-gen in general shouldn't even exist and your primary priority should be the base console performance. Although, effects, art and physics in the game are very good - overal graphics visually don't even try to use even 70% of base PS4 powers... At least I have 60fps on Pro... My friends have 30fps, blurry image, v-sync etc. Please, polish the game while you have time.

    I want this masterpiece franchise to become popular and have sequels. And I really wish you to fix some issues AFAIK, because some people might not want to get the game because of it    … Expand

For some background i am typically a fan of most fps games like far cry as well as doom and Wolfenstein. It feels just like the previous rage but better in every way which is exactly what i was hoping for.     Rage 2’s nonsensical story is unbearable, and the unskippable exploration parts are mostly irritating and boring. Luckily, the shooting gameplay is so amazing that it’s easy to forgive these flaws. And while encounters can become repetitive, new weapons and abilities make sure there’s always some fun to be had.
