    First thing is first, ignore the "critic" reviews they have no idea what they are bungling on about.

    I have fond memories of Medievil on the PSX so when I heard it would be getting a remaster I was delighted. In exactly the same way the devs for the Resident Evil 2 remaster cared the devs for the Medievil remaster have recreated Medievil with loving attention from the presentation to    First thing is first, ignore the "critic" reviews they have no idea what they are bungling on about.

In exactly the same way the devs for the Resident Evil 2 remaster cared the devs for the Medievil remaster have recreated Medievil with loving attention from the presentation to attention to details both visually and in cut scenes and general animations, voiceovers are also masterfully done this is exactly the Medievil you remember but remade from the ground up in modern times.

    Everything just fits together beautifully in this game and it is not sullied with any microtransactions of any kind it is good old fashioned fun presented in a not unfamiliar Disney-like way, but the old Disney, not the new one. Dialog is entertaining with many funny moments and gameplay that can be both fun and challenging with a hidden element of strategy that may not always be immediately obvious.

    Every bit as perfect of a remake as the Resident Evil 2 remake.    … Expand

    Absolutely adored game 20 years ago with its clunky controls and bad camera. Now, the same, but prettier. :D And atmosphere is great too.

    Magnífico. Sencillamente magnífico.

    Tiene excepciones como leves frapeos en ciertos momentos del juego, los libros a veces no se puede leer y son los mismos diálogos que el original (que esto personalmente me encanta, las voces de las gárgolas... Que recuerdos. Pero bueno, cada uno tiene su gusto ) El caso es que no es un juego para todos los públicos, los que hemos disfrutado del juego    Magnífico. Sencillamente magnífico.

Os lo aconsejo a todos los Sonyer de psx. A los demás... Solo si os gustan los hack and slash bastante facilitos jajaja Solo decir que disfrutéis de vuestros juegos... Y ojalá Sasel disfrute este juego, y, aunque no lo diga, espero que lo disfrute.

    It's a remake every fan was waiting for. It's really amazing and challenging, because it reminds the classic ones but with new and enforced graphics. A must have for ps4

    Let me start this by saying I am so happy that even with the beautiful modern update that they did to this game graphics wise that they didn't go out of their way to modernize the gameplay. I played the original in anticipation for this HD release and I am happy to say that the gameplay is the same. Modern gamers are spoiled. enjoy a game for what it is Snowflakes. if you need yourLet me start this by saying I am so happy that even with the beautiful modern update that they did to this game graphics wise that they didn't go out of their way to modernize the gameplay. I played the original in anticipation for this HD release and I am happy to say that the gameplay is the same. Modern gamers are spoiled. enjoy a game for what it is Snowflakes. if you need your handheld then play something else. I have been gaming since 1970 and while I love the advancements I still love the old school. This game nails the best of both worlds. It was a masterpiece when it came out and this version only confirms that. Great job on the upgrade of an an amazing game.… Expand

    The best remake I played so far, it's exactly like the PS1 classic, but with better music and better graphics, with high attention to details, 1:1 gameplay as the original.
    No messed up physics as the Nsane Trilogy and no poor global redesign as Spyro's one, we need more remakes like this one.

    It was a blessing to be able to return to Medievil and experience it again with beautiful visuals. New version captured the original charm perfectly and i had blast playing through every level. Suprisingly the gameplay was still a lot of fun and i enjoyed remembering how to solve some of the puzzles. Only one negative was at certain levels atrocious performance. I can only hope we will getIt was a blessing to be able to return to Medievil and experience it again with beautiful visuals.     When u liked the Game as a Kid 1998 u do not a mistake If u buy this game . Its overall a well improved Classic game. I Had fun playing this game again after so many years and got also my Platin trophy already :). Models, Sound and also graphics are Well improved and the lvls it self are Like in the Original game.

    Es un juego muy divertido, muy fiel al original y con una dirección artística sensacional. El problema que tiene este remake para mi es que es excesivamente difícil. Tienes una pociones que actúan como depósitos de vida. Es decir, que si te mueres, se usa la poción de vida para restaurar la vida al completo. ¿Cual es el problema? Que los enemigos son muy difíciles de derrotar (hablo de losEs un juego muy divertido, muy fiel al original y con una dirección artística sensacional. El problema que tiene este remake para mi es que es excesivamente difícil. Tienes una pociones que actúan como depósitos de vida. Es decir, que si te mueres, se usa la poción de vida para restaurar la vida al completo. ¿Cual es el problema? Que los enemigos son muy difíciles de derrotar (hablo de los enemigos normales) y claro, mantener las distancias sería lo ideal, pero tienes una espada con poca fuerza y un arco con pocas flechas y poco potente. Entonces, cuando te enfrentas cara a cara a otro enemigo normal, a veces supone perder casi la mitad de la vida si eres descuidado con las distancias y el tiempo de reacción. Tu mejor baza entonces es huir de los enemigos en vez de enfrentarte a ellos. Lo peor de todo es que las pociones de vida escasean por todo el juego. Y no solo eso. Si mueres, no reapareces en un «checkpoint». Con lo cual, ya desde el primer momento estás jugando en modo «Muy difícil», porque si tomas malas decisiones y pierdes en un nivel, vuelves hasta el principio del nivel de nuevo, y pierdes todo lo que has coleccionado (llaves, pociones, etc.) A mi esto personalmente me cabrea mucho, porque el original era así también, y en vez de cambiarlo, lo dejaron lo más fiel al original posible. A pesar de esos fallos, hay muchas cosas positivas de este juego. Los diálogos están muy bien (sobretodo si lo juegas en español, las voces imitan el castellano antiguo para darle un toque más medieval), la trama engancha y el villano tiene bastante carisma. Los niveles están muy bien diseñados y lo dicho, es muy fiel al original. Si este remake lo hubieran hecho para mejorar de paso el juego a nivel de jugabilidad, le daría un 6/10 por lo que comenté de las pociones. Pero, como se trata de un remake que quiere mantener el núcleo de la jugabilidad intacto y ser lo más parecido posible al original, en ese caso le tengo que dar un 10/10 porque lo han clavado. Y el rendimiento a nivel gráfico del juego en PS4 es bueno. Podría ser mejor, pero no es malo.… Expand

    This is a really good game, dont read the press reviews, faithful remake running at 60fps.
    Talking about the game it has good humour, platforms, the camera is so much better than the original, the music is one of the best in videogames.
    The design is really good with so much variety in the levels and bosses, characters are top

    Um jogo de PS1 com gráficos modernos. Ou seja, perfeito. Quando os jogos modernos falham é necessário resgatar os clássicos do passado. Por isso que a maioria dos jogos indie são bem mais divertidos que a maioria dos jogos modernos.

    The best remake that played in years what this game got and what makes me feel when the game is incredible makes me teleport to the original game as a child. Super faithful in every way and with the original dubbing, the only thing that changes now is graphically wonderful to be able to play it like this.     Um remake com gosto de infancia, ainda estou jogando mas ja tinha jogado a demo, o jogo esta muito bom igual foram os remakes de Crash e Spyro, agora o trio do PS1 esta completo em meu console, esta muito melhor do que foi aquele desastre do reboot no PSP, graficos boms, jogabilidade fiel, unico ponto que posso falar que não foi perfeito é o remix de algumas musicas que não gostei masUm remake com gosto de infancia, ainda estou jogando mas ja tinha jogado a demo, o jogo esta muito bom igual foram os remakes de Crash e Spyro, agora o trio do PS1 esta completo em meu console, esta muito melhor do que foi aquele desastre do reboot no PSP, graficos boms, jogabilidade fiel, unico ponto que posso falar que não foi perfeito é o remix de algumas musicas que não gostei mas isso é toque pessoal.

    This game is really good but a bit clunky they basically took old game and updated with new Graphics the gameplay is still the same as the original. I hope they remake the sequel.

    This game is a 10 for a number of reasons. It stayed true to the original game. So little was changed it was refreshing to see a new coat of paint put over it. The music is this game is just something else, draws you in and if you played it before brings you back.     Absolutamente incrivel a ignorancia de alguns criticos profissionais que nem devia ser nascidos quando saiu o original que demonstram uma ignorancia absurda sobre a qualidade e carinho depositado neste remake. Absolutamente obrigatorio e nao liguem a ignorantes que nada percebem disto.

    Excelente video juego 10/10 cumple con todo su contenido y más aun varias cosas adicionales a diferencia del Clásico retomando como un especie de Renovación Total! , Entretenido y además te hace recordar tu pasado con los personajes, su ambientación es muy buena, la música totalmente mejorada (Arrange Version) una verdadera Obra Maestra para los Jugadores de la Vieja Escuela

    It plays identically to the original game, and most of the dialogue sounds as if it was ripped straight from the PlayStation 1 classic.

    They took the original music and had it composed once again by the original composers who have done an incredible job, bringing even more life into the already amazing and unforgettable soundtrack.

    I was worried when I heard Other Ocean would be doing the remake, simply because MediEvil is my favorite game, and I wanted a studio I already trusted, but they have completely outdone themselves, and totally earned my respect as developers. They have seriously done some excellent work here and I cannot thank them enough.

    This game is must have and for $30.00 there's no reason not to add it to your library and give it a play, Sony needs to know that we care deeply for these old classic games.

    Una absoluta maravilla que me ha hecho revivir 20 años después la misma experiencia y sensaciones que tuve en 1998. Un calco del juego original mejorado gráfica, musical y jugablemente. No entiendo tanta crítica negativa hacia este juego, en mi opinión injustamente valorado por la prensa y algunos jugadores.

    Este remake es justo el remake que yo quería y esperaba. Cuando un juego ha sido bueno en el pasado también lo es en el presente por mucho que sus mecánicas esten anticuadas y este medievil no es la excepción, si disfrutaste del original con este lo vas a gozar. Los análisis de la prensa cada vez son menos fiables.

    Thankyou so much for this remake, I used to be terrified of this on the ps1 at the age of 5 and my dad would have to switch it off when I was home. It's great to revisit galowmere all these years later, the Game is charming as ever. I look forward to a new medevil game in the future and I'm loving this! If you've never Played before it's a quirky title that's definitely worth a visit.

    Es una adaptación 100 x 100 fiel al original . Me encanto y totalmente recomendable. Especialmente si lo jugaste en ps1 y si no fue así, es una gran oportunidad

    I love the original story. The remake feels faithful. There are the charm of Medievil game back in 90's. Awesome game for old school gamers and fans.

    More than 20 years after its released on PlayStation 1, Medievil is back from the dead on PS4. Unfortunately, it looks much more like a remastered version than a full fledged remake. It shines with colorful graphics and spooky atmosphere, but its gameplay remains too rigid, and its mechanics haven't aged well. A title reserved for fans of the license or lovers of Halloween and «The Nightmare Before Christmas».

    It's a short, but very intense adventure, with brief cinematics, compact maps without padding or copy/pasted elements. It brings a lot of variety into the world teeming with bland "sandboxes".

    If you disregard the nostalgia factor, the game is anything but extraordinary. It won’t win over new, younger players... but on the other hand they are not the target audience. [13/2019, p.78]
