    A very true to the original remake that doesn't let the game shine like it could have been if it implemented new mechanics and gameplay beyond collectibles that make you do a second run on the game to unlock the original version emulated in game, a niche game for the fans of the original and its game style fanatics that likely doesn't please everyone.

    A great remake of a classic! The only thing I would warn everybody about is that it still has a few wierd bugs (although nothing game-crashing as far as I know) which make the experience a little frustrating at times. The thing that I think is the most annoying is wonky collision around certain walls and objects that can make manuvering around tighter areas a bit difficult. The overallA great remake of a classic!     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Wow. Amazing game. The new graphics gave me a new feeling bout this. 9/10 points, because the camera is crap, like in the old game. Wonderful idea from the developers that you can unlock the original game.

    A classic that's back for the clueless generation.

    Super engaging story, fun gameplay to use.

    As always, charismatic characters like only Sony can do. Recommended for all ages (as long as you don't bother with other types of beliefs.)

    And make and a Remaster of Medievil 2!!
    And why not to continue this series to Medievil 3 and more!!

    Este remake fue algo bastante raro. Es de gran calidad, como ya lo era el original... pero parece un juego de esa generación con los gráficos de esta. Es decir, no se ha adaptado a los nuevos tiempos en ciertos aspectos que se deberían haber pulido. También, el rendimiento en PS4 era bastante malo, joder.

    If you like MediEvil PS1 and Crash Bandicoot and Spyro remasters you will like MediEvil PS4.

    I finished the game platinum in 12h of Gameplay and ok, yes the camera is crap sometimes, but better than the PS1 version. One of the flaws they fixed in the PS1 version was when there was a chest with a weapon in it and you switched to the weapon in the chest, it automatically took the place    If you like MediEvil PS1 and Crash Bandicoot and Spyro remasters you will like MediEvil PS4.

    One of the flaws they fixed in the PS1 version was when there was a chest with a weapon in it and you switched to the weapon in the chest, it automatically took the place of the weapon in it. our hand, there is no longer this problem on PS4, another thing that is great being able to switch between 2 weapons of our choice just by pressing triangle.

    The downside of the game is lost souls. SPOILER, we unlock the lost souls in the Advent last table and to have them all, you have to redo all the tables a 2nd time and in a specific order, to unlock the MediEvil PS1 version. Ok great, but the game is in English too bad.

    MediEvil PS1 is a game from my childhood that I like to redo on occasion for Halloween, for nostalgia or just for fun, but with this version I'm not sure if one day I'm going to redo the PS1 version.    … Expand

    I was scared to try this one because of the critics. I am not disappointed and I can assure you that the critics are really not accurate, this is a great remake and I'm a picky gamer. Sure there were a few flaws (bad camera, lack of checkpoints and health could've been restored between each levels) but besides these minor issues, I had a blast and the platinum is pretty easy and fun to do.I was scared to try this one because of the critics. I am not disappointed and I can assure you that the critics are really not accurate, this is a great remake and I'm a picky gamer. I'd say that this remake is inferior to the crash trilogy (9/10) but better than the spyro one (7/10). Great game to pick for 15/20$.… Expand

    This is a outstanding remake of the original game. The meta score from journalist is bs! Just look at the user score.

    I grew up with this game, started with Medievil for the ps1 and it was just magical. One of the best exclusives for the ps series.     One of the best remakes I’ve ever played, the design alone is quite impressive. I loved every level of the game even the difficult elements in later levels. Sometimes can get frustrating but generally if you think about your approach to the challenge, it ends up being rewarding. Hope they remake MediEvil 2 at some point too

    The game is certainly not perfect, there is plenty of outdated mechanics the developers may have been too stubborn to update. So in their journey to make it as faithful a remake as possible, they didn't polish as much as they could have. However, other than the gorgeous graphics there is plenty small quality of life changes and details added in. Not to mention the level design is still fantastic as it was in the original in fact it's improved because it's more clear and detailed. Even with the issues this game does have its a great time to play through it even in modern day. The game also does a great job at incentivizing you to keep collecting everything. You get great awards and prizes for collecting chalices, not to mention the great final reward for completing the end game content (no spoilers). Anyways, I think this game is worthy of a bit more attention and praise than it got. It's a pretty damn good game.… Expand

    As always, ignore the critics, this is an excellent remake. Charming music and visuals. It’s hard, but fair. Getting all collectibles isn’t tedious in the slightest, which is a big plus in my book.

    Jedna z lepszych gier platformowych jakie widziałem w życiu. Motyw jak i stylistyka gry ma w sobie taką głębie, że wyśmienicie się przechodzi między poziomami tego świata. Uwielbiam w grach to, że dają wrażenie tajemniczości, przez co gracz może sobie dopowiedzieć resztę co daje niesamowite pole dla wyobraźni. Moje serce skradła również muzyka jak i efekty dźwiękowe stworów i broni. MocnoJedna z lepszych gier platformowych jakie widziałem w życiu.     More than 20 years after its released on PlayStation 1, Medievil is back from the dead on PS4. Unfortunately, it looks much more like a remastered version than a full fledged remake. It shines with colorful graphics and spooky atmosphere, but its gameplay remains too rigid, and its mechanics haven't aged well. A title reserved for fans of the license or lovers of Halloween and «The Nightmare Before Christmas».

    It's a short, but very intense adventure, with brief cinematics, compact maps without padding or copy/pasted elements. It brings a lot of variety into the world teeming with bland "sandboxes".

    If you disregard the nostalgia factor, the game is anything but extraordinary. It won’t win over new, younger players... but on the other hand they are not the target audience. [13/2019, p.78]
