    Jedna z lepszych gier platformowych jakie widziałem w życiu. Motyw jak i stylistyka gry ma w sobie taką głębie, że wyśmienicie się przechodzi między poziomami tego świata. Uwielbiam w grach to, że dają wrażenie tajemniczości, przez co gracz może sobie dopowiedzieć resztę co daje niesamowite pole dla wyobraźni. Moje serce skradła również muzyka jak i efekty dźwiękowe stworów i broni. MocnoJedna z lepszych gier platformowych jakie widziałem w życiu. Motyw jak i stylistyka gry ma w sobie taką głębie, że wyśmienicie się przechodzi między poziomami tego świata.     As always, ignore the critics, this is an excellent remake. Charming music and visuals. It’s hard, but fair. Getting all collectibles isn’t tedious in the slightest, which is a big plus in my book.

    Es un juego muy divertido, muy fiel al original y con una dirección artística sensacional. El problema que tiene este remake para mi es que es excesivamente difícil. Tienes una pociones que actúan como depósitos de vida. Es decir, que si te mueres, se usa la poción de vida para restaurar la vida al completo. ¿Cual es el problema? Que los enemigos son muy difíciles de derrotar (hablo de losEs un juego muy divertido, muy fiel al original y con una dirección artística sensacional. El problema que tiene este remake para mi es que es excesivamente difícil. Tienes una pociones que actúan como depósitos de vida. Es decir, que si te mueres, se usa la poción de vida para restaurar la vida al completo. ¿Cual es el problema? Que los enemigos son muy difíciles de derrotar (hablo de los enemigos normales) y claro, mantener las distancias sería lo ideal, pero tienes una espada con poca fuerza y un arco con pocas flechas y poco potente. Entonces, cuando te enfrentas cara a cara a otro enemigo normal, a veces supone perder casi la mitad de la vida si eres descuidado con las distancias y el tiempo de reacción. Tu mejor baza entonces es huir de los enemigos en vez de enfrentarte a ellos. Lo peor de todo es que las pociones de vida escasean por todo el juego. Y no solo eso. Si mueres, no reapareces en un «checkpoint». Con lo cual, ya desde el primer momento estás jugando en modo «Muy difícil», porque si tomas malas decisiones y pierdes en un nivel, vuelves hasta el principio del nivel de nuevo, y pierdes todo lo que has coleccionado (llaves, pociones, etc.) A mi esto personalmente me cabrea mucho, porque el original era así también, y en vez de cambiarlo, lo dejaron lo más fiel al original posible. A pesar de esos fallos, hay muchas cosas positivas de este juego. Los diálogos están muy bien (sobretodo si lo juegas en español, las voces imitan el castellano antiguo para darle un toque más medieval), la trama engancha y el villano tiene bastante carisma. Los niveles están muy bien diseñados y lo dicho, es muy fiel al original. Si este remake lo hubieran hecho para mejorar de paso el juego a nivel de jugabilidad, le daría un 6/10 por lo que comenté de las pociones. Pero, como se trata de un remake que quiere mantener el núcleo de la jugabilidad intacto y ser lo más parecido posible al original, en ese caso le tengo que dar un 10/10 porque lo han clavado. Y el rendimiento a nivel gráfico del juego en PS4 es bueno. Podría ser mejor, pero no es malo.… Expand

    Este remake fue algo bastante raro. Es de gran calidad, como ya lo era el original... pero parece un juego de esa generación con los gráficos de esta. Es decir, no se ha adaptado a los nuevos tiempos en ciertos aspectos que se deberían haber pulido. También, el rendimiento en PS4 era bastante malo, joder.

    I was scared to try this one because of the critics. I am not disappointed and I can assure you that the critics are really not accurate, this is a great remake and I'm a picky gamer. Sure there were a few flaws (bad camera, lack of checkpoints and health could've been restored between each levels) but besides these minor issues, I had a blast and the platinum is pretty easy and fun to do.I was scared to try this one because of the critics. I am not disappointed and I can assure you that the critics are really not accurate, this is a great remake and I'm a picky gamer.     A classic that's back for the clueless generation.

    Super engaging story, fun gameplay to use.

    As always, charismatic characters like only Sony can do. Recommended for all ages (as long as you don't bother with other types of beliefs.)

    The game is certainly not perfect, there is plenty of outdated mechanics the developers may have been too stubborn to update. So in their journey to make it as faithful a remake as possible, they didn't polish as much as they could have. However, other than the gorgeous graphics there is plenty small quality of life changes and details added in. Even with the issues this game does have its a great time to play through it even in modern day. The game also does a great job at incentivizing you to keep collecting everything. You get great awards and prizes for collecting chalices, not to mention the great final reward for completing the end game content (no spoilers). Anyways, I think this game is worthy of a bit more attention and praise than it got. It's a pretty damn good game.… Expand

    I had a lot of goofy fun with this. Near the end I defintely started to lose my patience with the game. But, overall, I had a really lovely time with Medievil. I really hope we get a remake for the sequel or just a straight up 3rd Medievil game. Love the premise and presentation. Want more adventures with Sir Dan tbh

    A gem of a gem with that brilliant soundtrack we all love. I loved MediEvil 1 & 2 back on the PS1 and it was a treat to re-experience the original MediEvil with todays visual glory and smoothed out controls. Other Ocean Emeryville did a terrific job with the music and visuals and kept the atmosphere and humour of the original game. I really hope we'll see MediEvil 2.

    If you like MediEvil PS1 and Crash Bandicoot and Spyro remasters you will like MediEvil PS4.

    I finished the game platinum in 12h of Gameplay and ok, yes the camera is crap sometimes, but better than the PS1 version. One of the flaws they fixed in the PS1 version was when there was a chest with a weapon in it and you switched to the weapon in the chest, it automatically took the place    If you like MediEvil PS1 and Crash Bandicoot and Spyro remasters you will like MediEvil PS4.

    One of the flaws they fixed in the PS1 version was when there was a chest with a weapon in it and you switched to the weapon in the chest, it automatically took the place of the weapon in it. our hand, there is no longer this problem on PS4, another thing that is great being able to switch between 2 weapons of our choice just by pressing triangle.

    The downside of the game is lost souls. SPOILER, we unlock the lost souls in the Advent last table and to have them all, you have to redo all the tables a 2nd time and in a specific order, to unlock the MediEvil PS1 version. Ok great, but the game is in English too bad.

    MediEvil PS1 is a game from my childhood that I like to redo on occasion for Halloween, for nostalgia or just for fun, but with this version I'm not sure if one day I'm going to redo the PS1 version.    … Expand

    One of the best remakes I’ve ever played, the design alone is quite impressive. I loved every level of the game even the difficult elements in later levels. Sometimes can get frustrating but generally if you think about your approach to the challenge, it ends up being rewarding. Hope they remake MediEvil 2 at some point too

    I grew up with this game, started with Medievil for the ps1 and it was just magical. One of the best exclusives for the ps series.     I am so thankful for this remake. I never got the chance to play the full game when I was growing up, I only had the demo, which I loved. I didn't have the money for it and opportunity passed... Until I saw the promotions for this faithful remake. This game oozes charm and personality, I have played this game the past couple October's and it couldn't hit the spot anymore.     io ci sto giocando e con tutti i suoi problemi me lo sto godendo. la grafica è stata migliorata completamente. inoltre sono state risolte delle meccaniche di gioco assieme a delle imperfezioni grafiche

    Man, of all the games to get a remake I can assure you this was the least expected but I am so glad it happened because it is absolutely incredible. Updated visuals and quality of life improvements were added that make it great but literally everything else is intact from the original sound files to complete layouts. The base game is all here.     Medieval is a true definition of classic gaming. Critics doesn't give this game the credit it deserves. If you've played the original and loved it, this will make your heart melt to see you t childhood game and hero in HD. They fixed any issues the original had and added more convenient shortcuts. The story is original and holds well to the franchise. Hoping for a Medieval 2 remake in the future!

    Un gran juego, devuelve la alegría de lo que eran los juegos de antaño, sin preocuparse por grandes gráficos, simplemente diversión. Sin embargo no está excento de algunos bugs que pueden ser muy frustantes.

    Gorgeous game. I'm a MediEvil fan and played the original version on PS1. I was very pleased with the remake.

Очень атмосферная, и хардкорная игра, прямиком из детства, как мне нравится Атмосфера Хэллоуина в этой игре, мистика, существа из легенд и сказок, все это присутствует в игре!     لعبة ميد إيفل نزلت أول مرة في سنة 1998 على جهاز البليستيشن 1 خلال فترة الهالووين ورجعت بعد تقريبا (21) سنة بنفس الفترة على جهاز البليستيشن 4 كريميك للعبة الأصلية. اللعبة كما يذكرونها عشاقها ولاعبينها في سنة 1998، ما تغيرت أبدا ولا تغير محتواها ولا انضاف لها أي زيادة باستثناء سر واحد بعد ما تنهي اللعبة. بكل اختصار اللعبة نفس ما كانت مع تحسينات كبيرة وضخمة. قصة اللعبة بسيطة وما فيها اي عمقلعبة ميد إيفل نزلت أول مرة في سنة 1998 على جهاز البليستيشن 1 خلال فترة الهالووين ورجعت بعد تقريبا (21) سنة بنفس الفترة على جهاز البليستيشن 4 كريميك للعبة الأصلية. اللعبة كما يذكرونها عشاقها ولاعبينها في سنة 1998، ما تغيرت أبدا ولا تغير محتواها ولا انضاف لها أي زيادة باستثناء سر واحد بعد ما تنهي اللعبة. بكل اختصار اللعبة نفس ما كانت مع تحسينات كبيرة وضخمة. قصة اللعبة بسيطة وما فيها اي عمق وتقدر تقول أنها لعبة وناسة وليست لعبة جدية من ناحية القصة. طريقة اللعب سلسة وفيها تنوع بالأسلحة. نظام اللعبة إنها تصير نوعا ما صعبة مع التقدم في المراحل وتقدر تقول إن هذا نظام الألعاب القديمة اللي يزيد فيها التحدي في بعض المراحل/المواقف. تصوير اللعبة بعد التحسينات أصبح قوي وفيه تفاصيل وتأثيرات جميلة تعطي اللاعب انطباع العصور الوسطى. من ناحية الأصوات والمؤثرات الصوتية فموسيقى اللعبة ممتعة وهادية وتعيش اللاعب جو الهالووين والرعب ونفس ما ذكرت سابقا أن اللعبة نزلت في هذي الفترة (فترة الهالووين) والمطورين مستهدفين هذا الشي للعبتهم. بالنهاية وبشكل عام اللعبة ممتعة وفريدة من نوعها وليست مكررة مثل هذا النوع من الألعاب. أنصحكم فيها إذا تبون تغيرون جو وتلعبون لعبة مختلفة عن ألعابكم المعتادة. اللعبة متوفرة على البليستيشن فقط وحاليا عليها خصم وسعرها جدا مناسب.

    من الآخر:

    1- اللعبة فيها تحسينات ضخمة وكبيرة مقارنة بالنسخة الأصلية بدون أي إضافات أو تغييرات تذكر على محتواها باستثناء سر واحد انضاف بعد إنهاء اللعبة.
    2- طريقة اللعب سلسلة وفيها تنوع بالأسلحة.

    A real classic game. Fun to play for the whole family and it's Riddle and trophy hunting is a real joy a must play for all who did it on ps1 and it's has some new content and for the new comers it will be a breath of fresh air from the past

    Jogo traz uma nostalgia que poucos remakes foram capazes. Me senti de volta ao PS1, jogando e entendendo aquele mundo extremamente bem desenhado, com uma direção de arte diferente e que é muito bonita. Depois de pegar alguns colecionáveis, é possivel jogar a versão do PS1, daí é possível comparar perfeitamente o carinho e a atenção do remake ao original. Vale muito a pena!

    This remake of the 1998 classic is faithful to a fault. Other than the gorgeous new graphics, the game is basically the same. That translates to the controls feeling kind of outdated for today’s standards but, as a fan of the classic, this was a nostalgic dream.

    Medievil is a fantastic remake that manages to improve on the original in almost everyway. The only thing I could knock it on is that in some aspects I don't like how the art style is translated from the original ps1 game. Loosing a lot of its Tim Burton feel in translation. The game it self has some issues the combat defiantly feels like a ps1 game in the sense that they weren't fully sure how 3d games worked. So there is some jank to it. And while early on I wasn't to impressed by the end I fell in love with the games writing humor and pretty much every other aspect of it. And the completion bonus you can get later in the game which is unlocking the original game on the ps1. is one of the best I've seen in games and it gives me a whole lot more appreciation for the remake after being able to go back and directly compare it to the original. It's not a perfect game but it's defiantly an interesting game and you get a good amount of content for what's it's worth. And if you've played the original there's no reason to not try it out.… Expand

    A wonderfully done remake with some small gameplay improvements done here and there (mostly pertaining to the weapons and platforming, while the camerawork suffers slightly) to bring a Tim Burton-esque PS1 adventure game to modern consoles. Absolutely worth an investment and a playthrough, even a year after release. 9/10

    first "Crash" then "Spyro" and now "Medievil" all PS1 Classics that finally got revived with amazing well-deserved remakes. i grow-up with the original PlayStation and i loved Medievil and it's sequel, two excellent hack n' slash platformers that was clearly inspired by tim burton art style with the gothic vibe and dark tone with some comedy, the music itself can be compared to tim burton's collaborator danny elfman as well.

    it's a shame this franchise died too early, the decent PS2 title "Ghosthunter" from 2003 is somewhat of an unofficial spin-off, a 2005 lackluster remake for the PSP and the main protagonist sir daniel fortesque had a guest appearances in few other games.

    the team at "Other Ocean Emeryville" studios did an amazing job with this title, despite being developed by a different studio, they handled this remake much better then what original studio did with the 2005 PSP remake.

    from the PS4 game alone it took me few minutes to get used to the new control scheme, different narrator, and slightly different musical score, but i'm amazed they kept most of the original recording from 1998 in the remake with better audio, excellent graphics, giving this series a proper HD look, and you can tell the team had a lot of passion, love and respect to the franchise, changing very little of the level design (mostly adding more then the original game), the music is great!, updating the original tracks with a new code of paint. being creepy, atmospheric, haunting and even scary sometimes, but what made this game so special they kept the darker tone from the original game. they also add the behind the shoulder camera which i didn't used much other the close combat, it's nice addition but unnecessary. the critics and user score is surprisingly divisive, if you're a fan of this franchise or an old-school gamer or just someone who wants some hack 'n slash fun, buy it! you will not regret it. this is probably on my top 10 best PS4 games ever!!! i will forever love the original classic, but this is an excellent remake if not one of best i have ever played.    … Expand

    I absolutely loved playing this game on PS1 when I was a kid so it may have made this review a little biased but I really enjoyed this remake! It still has the humour and charm of the original game but with graphics updated to modern standards and a nice little set of side quests to extend the gameplay if you want to.     Pretty much same game as 30 years ago :D When you complete it you can play actual original from ps1 thats cool. If you have nostalgia for Medievil this is best way to repaly it

    This remastered version is quite good in general. It clearly improves the controls in comparison with those of the classic game, and the graphics and mechanics are evidently more polished. It is curious that some bugs still occur (I got stuck in a part of the Ghost Ship setting and had to reset the level), but it is very nice overall. Tiene algunos fallos de renderización en ciertas partes de la historia, también pareciera que cambiaron la hitbox de los enemigos, pues aun que estés a una distancia prudente del enemigo a veces igual logra acertarte con su ataque lo que perjudica a quien quiera intentar pasar por un lugar con poca vida y tenga q enfrentarse a algún monstruo.

    If you want to split hairs you could say that some (and only a few) of the secondary character designs could have been a little better, a little "cuter", but it really doesn't matter in the end because it truly is a great game overall.     MediEvil. What a special game, and a curious decade for it to be around. A decade in which gaming has taken a sharp turn into "cinematic" approaches for better or worse, often times forgetting that games are also supposed to be fun, weird, and interesting. A decade when the best and the worst of modern gaming has graced our consoles and PCs. A decade or many, MANY reboots, remakes, and re-releases. I'll be fair, MediEvil for the PS4 is pretty much a ground up remake, but it's retained many of the charms its original counterpart had... more or less.

    Gameplay is loosened up and fined tuned to be a bit more frantic, giving enemies with familliar patterns new tricks along with the old, and Dan himself a better combat personality that more suites his character (such as swinging a sword wildly like he has no idea what he's doing if you continuously hammer the attack button). Platforming is made MUCH easier so insta-death pitfalls aren't so frequent, and weapons themselves have been tweaked to have more pronounced strengths and weaknesses. A welcome change is the inclusion of weapon switching the Medievil 2 introduced, adding alot more playtime and decreasing menu time, and fixing a certain irritation that the original PS1 games had for a very specific weapons. The camera is alright. A bit better from the original.

    Visuals are... jaw dropping (lol). While it lost a little bit of its angular, Tim Burton-esque flair that the first game touted with pride, locations in the remake are absolutely gorgeous and give the game its own distinct dark fantasy vibe. Forests are lush, towns are hauntingly amiss and derelict, graveyards stink with necromancy and rot... the whole game just looks exactly like it absolutely should. Dan himself looks delightfully goofy, Zarok looks and behaves menacing, and the Gargoyles are out and out perfect in their new designs with their bright eyes and sarcastic smirks.

    Audio is perfect. The original composers return to deliver the game's score with the best way possible, while also re-introducing some previous songs for specific situations for a spice of variety. Actions sound like they have punch and weight to them. Voice acting is lifted directly from the original game and given an HD upgrade (with some surprise exceptions). Also, the narrator is a joy, and delightfully sarcastic in all the right places.

    It has a little bit of endgame content, which can be hit or miss depending on the player, but the last secret the game has after fully completing a certain side-quest is one hell of a treat for longtime fans.

    The downside is that, aside from the new side-quest and it's reward, and a few new tricks enemies have and certain upgrades to the game overall, there aren't many other changes. No previously deleted levels remade to be played for the curious as side-stages or DLC. No new enemies or bosses to fight. No secrets that aren't already available in the original game. You're more or less getting the Spyro treatment here, except it's just one game rather than three. Also, the camera, while improved, has its issues...

    All in all, a very fun remake, and one i'm glad I picked up when I did. I'm proud to have this game in my collection, and hope to play it for years to come just like I have the previous games. Here's hoping for a MediEvil 2 remake, or perhaps... MediEvil 3?    … Expand

    Here youll be playing as Sir Daniel Fortesque as he sets out to stop the evil zarok raising the dead and tainting the souls. This is a hack and slash action adventure game where each level youll be slaying enemies, discovering secrets, and taking down bosses on your journey to take down zarok and prove yourself in the hall of heroes… each level has a percentage of souls needed to fill a chalice, this gives you the urge to ctually want to engage in combat despite how frustrating it proves to be… as collecting this chalice and then making it to the end of the level rewards you with the possibility of a new weapon, each increasingly becoming more powerful and useful… its this exploration and mystery that keep medieval from becoming too much.. every level here feels fresh and verried from start to finish.. no two levels feels the same, many will even surprise you and all this is necessary because of the old school nature of medievil, beause though the graphics have been brought up to date, the gameplay has not… every level plays by perma death rules, meaning there are no save or checkpoints.. if you die in a level no matter how far you get, you have to start the level from the very beginning with what you enter this level with.. which can prove challenging as you aren’t replenished health at the beginning of these levels.. though there is a way to cheese this by returning to dans crypt over and over before a new level.. I feel as though the player shouldn’t have to do this though.. filling my lives before a level should just be standard… to add to the difficulty, though the platforming feels a bit more modern.. it still has that old school cheap I have no control feel, leading to many cheap deths and game overs as falling doesn’t just take say 50 to 100 damage, it takes an entire life from you… which of course leads to many frustrating moments and a few frustrating levels where the platforming is just awful and nothing is below to catch you… on top of all of this, there is little to no indication of you taking damage, no sense of enemy range… taking the hack and slash genre a little too literall.. youll find yourself button mashing your way through levels if you don’t care to stick to range attacks..needless to say there will be a handful of levels youll be replaying.. when you can get past all of this frustration though, medievil proves to be a great and satisfying adventure, one that encourages exploration, combat and challenge, Altering the mechanics and systems to todays standards could make this an even more enjoyable experience, but sometimes we all need a little old school frustration

    This game is a 10 for a number of reasons. It stayed true to the original game. So little was changed it was refreshing to see a new coat of paint put over it. The music is this game is just something else, draws you in and if you played it before brings you back.     Um dos melhores remakes do ps4, inclusive superior à trilogia crash. O jogo tem uma estética muito atrativa, além de possuir uma dificuldade um tanto elevada durante a primeira gameplay (e antes de conseguir as armas mais poderosas, o que se faz coletando os cálices de cada nível). Realmente trata-se de um jogo casual muito divertido.

    A very true to the original remake that doesn't let the game shine like it could have been if it implemented new mechanics and gameplay beyond collectibles that make you do a second run on the game to unlock the original version emulated in game, a niche game for the fans of the original and its game style fanatics that likely doesn't please everyone.

    Those critics man... Why are there game reviewers ? :D Nowadays critic writers just a burned out 40 years old 'tards. Do not listen to them. This game has a nostalgic factor, a great game play, masterpiece voice acting and the music man... Totally worth that 30 eur for this game! **** those critic writers :D

    Just like the original game. I loved it. Maybe they could have fixed some bugs and the combat style but the atmosphere was the same of the original. I really hope they will remake the second chapter too

    A pretty simple, but fun game. The atmosphere is something you rarely see in videogames, and it is done really well. Absolutely the best thing this game has to offer.

    I played this game non stop on the PS1 demo disc when I was a child, never got to own the game. Visually the game is great. Game play takes some adapting as it is a bit quirky, but once you get used to it, it doesn't feel so bad. Still has some bugs like in the previous generation.     When u liked the Game as a Kid 1998 u do not a mistake If u buy this game . Its overall a well improved Classic game. I Had fun playing this game again after so many years and got also my Platin trophy already :). Models, Sound and also graphics are Well improved and the lvls it self are Like in the Original game.

    Great revision of an already great game. The visuals and audio were spot on. Dan felt great to control, and the combat felt much more fluid than in the original, it felt like you were actually hitting an enemy.

    Un capolavoro. Il gioco originale riportato fedelmente, ogni cosa è dove si trovava nel gioco del ‘98. Fa tornare bambini. Aggiungo che perfino la mia fidanzata lo ha giocato fino alla fine, senza aver giocato l’originale, e adesso non riesco più a staccarla dalla console. Penso che anche i nuovi utenti possano apprezzarlo. 10/10

    More than 20 years after its released on PlayStation 1, Medievil is back from the dead on PS4. Unfortunately, it looks much more like a remastered version than a full fledged remake. It shines with colorful graphics and spooky atmosphere, but its gameplay remains too rigid, and its mechanics haven't aged well. A title reserved for fans of the license or lovers of Halloween and «The Nightmare Before Christmas».

    It's a short, but very intense adventure, with brief cinematics, compact maps without padding or copy/pasted elements. It brings a lot of variety into the world teeming with bland "sandboxes".

    If you disregard the nostalgia factor, the game is anything but extraordinary. It won’t win over new, younger players... but on the other hand they are not the target audience. [13/2019, p.78]
