    The failures from Bioware just keep stacking up. Big shame for what used to be such a great developer. As someone who enjoyed 1, 2 and even 3(in some extend), this is a disgrace to the franchise. I was willing to over look bugs and animation problems and other issues as every game has them, but this is just unacceptable!     As some one who actually liked both Mass Effect 1 and 2 and even 3 other than the ending, I have to say this is a direct slap in the face. Same goes for everything released after dragon age: origins in that series as well. Just utter unplayable trash with horrid facial animations, soulless ugly looking human characters, terrible writing and performances, waaaaaay too much busyAs some one who actually liked both Mass Effect 1 and 2 and even 3 other than the ending, I have to say this is a direct slap in the face.     As a old Bioware fan, this game doensn't bring the feels of a great adventure, but a repetitive game, with characters who has to show his sexuality without asking and a bad animation

    Некрасивые женьщины, синий хованский. Очень смешная анимация, она веселит но атмосфеу убивает. Совершенно ублюдские бои в сочетании с отсутсвием сейвов - ад и содомия. Закрытая от модов система. Средненький сюжет. Надеюсь студию распустят после этого провала.    Ужасная оптимизация. Ужасно скучно.

    Well i was so disappointed about this game, so i had to create an account here to just warn those guys who want to buy and play this "game". There is nothing familiar with mass effect universe except may be music. Animation in dialogues is disgusting, story line is so bad you don't wanna wait for the end. Garbage. Do not waste your money. Bioware is dead.

    I'm just so angry of this **** game and SJWare. The facial animation and female characters are just ridiculous and ugly af. I still cannot believe that SJWare spent FIVE years and 40 million$ on this game. They are so rude and unrespectful to the fans and Mass Effect comunity by making such a disgusting game. I'm so angry right now typing this and the game should be named MESS Effect instead.

    It's just bad. The major studios are so out of touch. Thankfully we have studios who listen to their player base and take the time to do QC before releasing (CD Projekt Red). Glitches, bugs, awful face models, bad textures, limited options, poorly written story line. And on top of all this they shoe-horn in their political agendas.     It panders to the SJW community quite thoroughly. Word to the wise- if you do play the game, and decide to play as a female character- make your own model. Do not use the presets or you will see you will loose your immersion into the game because you cant keep a straight face. =D

    -- Glitches. A lot of them. Characters flash in and out of frame, objectives will never resolve, and plenty of movement related bugs.
    -- The new aliens are just.. Boring and uninspired. Absolutely no sense of wonder and discovery with them, and the alien races brought with you are just rehashed stereotypes of whats already been established in the previous games.

    Bioware brought this flop on its self, and the consequences from it will be well deserved. Don't bother getting this unless you find it in a discount bin, and want a good laugh.    … Expand

    1) Do you want to play an actual RPG, with an engaging storyline? Take the Witcher 3. 2)Do you want to play an open world game with different things to do in it? Take GTA 5. So far, ME:A shows very little innovation in it's actual gameplay. It is the same schtick again: Go explore and then go full shooting gallery with a cover based system. Oh    There are only two things I can say:

    1) Do you want to play an actual RPG, with an engaging storyline? Take the Witcher 3.
    2)Do you want to play an open world game with different things to do in it? Take GTA 5.

    So far, ME:A shows very little innovation in it's actual gameplay. It is the same schtick again: Go explore and then go full shooting gallery with a cover based system. Oh okay, now you can also slide/rocket jump into and out of cover, but essentially it is the same. The gun is still the meat and bones of this title and with a budget of 40.000.000 dollars this shouldn't be the case. Another bugbear of this is the ever slow retardation of the dialogue system. There's the wheel, which now uses even less words and instead uses little symbols and keywords.

    This used to be one of the best rpgs, with epic story, characters that you would actual care about and their plots. In mass effect andromeda, there is nothing there.

There is absolutely no investment into characters or the role that you are supposed to play. I cared more about a single person in other games than I did about the 10,000 people onboard the ship. I could get over the animations, but the game play is so damn rough that it is not even enjoyable. I just recently finished Breath of the Wild and Horizon: Zero Dawn. Both of those games engaged you from the start and had excellent tight game play throughout. In this filth bucket, IThis is my first review on this site and I made an account just for this. This game is an unfinished mess. I could get over the animations, but the game play is so damn rough that it is not even enjoyable. I just recently finished Breath of the Wild and Horizon: Zero Dawn. Both of those games engaged you from the start and had excellent tight game play throughout. In this filth bucket, I felt like I was playing a game from 2003 on the PS2 that was published by THQ. This is not a BioWare game, it’s a cash-in of a past good series. I usually finish my games regardless and the last time I stopped mid-game from pure disappointment and anger was Sonic 06. After 2 hours of this game, I refuse to put more hours in it anymore. The story sucks, the conversations are so sale, the menu system is an absolute nightmare, and the control of the character is just terrible. I was duped into dropping full price on this and will just trade it in with a loss. Those reviews are read by critics are biased. At least Mafia III was playable and had its moments. The only moment this game will have is being thrown in the trash.… Expand

    This game is like the insectoid alien from Men in Black who killed the farmer at the beginning of the movie and wore his skin as a "human suit".     This game is a BIG SHAME! It's a broken game and a shadow of Mass Effect. The characters are ugly and it's a will of the developpers according to a "Social Justice Warrior" point of view... The universe is boring and empty with a lot of Fedex secondary quest... All    As a lot of reviewers i'm a big Mass Effect Lover. I love the universe, the roleplay and the charismatic Shepard Team.

    I've played this game for over 20 hrs now and it annoys the **** out of me. Bland dialogue, bland quests, bland stories. Ugly females. I don't mind the technical glitches. WTF is EA/Bioware trying to do? Kill themselves?

    This is a bioware game, just as Dragon age: Inquisition, and Dragon Age 2 was. If this was the same studio that did Dragon age: origins, I'd be all over this game. But it isn't. It's horribly written, terribly paced, and ugly to boot. They recycled animations from previous games to use in their new engine and it's painfully obvious if you're a fan of the franchises. Where Mass Effect 2 had interesting characters and amazing dialogue, this game falls flat on it's face. The characters are annoying, they look horrible, they can't lip sync EVER, and the lines are cringy tumblr tags given form. "I'm sorry, my face is tired." WHAT? That's literally a tumblr tag, and it's not how people talk. Wow. There isn't an ounce of quality control in the game, as evidenced by rapidly changing directions makes your character walk while squatting, the lack of a white preset character (You can still be a white default ryder, but there are no white preset characters). The quality control for this studio is non-existant. The facial animations for all the characters are extremely creepy. If that was all that was wrong with the game, then it'd be fine! Because I play games to play them, generally, and not to hear a narrative. See, that'd be great, except I ruined my entire playthrough because a dialogue gets me stuck every time so I can't advance the story fifteen hours in. Great game! Won't bother restarting so put another 15 hours into this drivel. If this was an indie game, it'd be judged by different standards and people could see past the awful everything. But this is Mass Effect. This is a beloved franchise, and it's backed by one of the largest publishers in the world, EA. I'm not sure how bioware doesn't dissolve after this, and I also don't know how EA will recover their image after pouring their budget into the destruction of such a loved franchise.

    I can't help but think this game was created so that EA can shut down Bioware without public outcry.
    I think this was made badly, on purpose. How else could they show trailers with the guns backwards? Backwards as in, the pistol facing their own faces? Like, hello?    … Expand

    Completely rushed, and it showed beyond belief. I'm glad they gave us a free trial. I was able to save my wallet from purchasing this poorly made game. Such a shame the series had to come to this.

    Above all else i just find Andromeda disappointing, i loved the original mass effect trilogy and really wanted Andromeda to be good but after 15 + hours of trying i just can't play anymore.

    Also the critic score average being so much higher than the user score average is something of a red flag.

    Firstly, Id like to get the reason I scored it extremely low out of the way. In terms of the game content and quality I'd rate Andromeda around the 4 maybe even 5 out of 10, you can see glimpses of a good game hidden    I don't usually write reviews but I've been a mass effect fan all the way since the first one and I feel that this latest iteration of my beloved franchise deserves one.

    Firstly, Id like to get the reason I scored it extremely low out of the way. In terms of the game content and quality I'd rate Andromeda around the 4 maybe even 5 out of 10, you can see glimpses of a good game hidden here. So why the zero score? To be honest its to counteract the biased scores that hardcore fans have been giving this game. I totally understand where their coming from, no one likes people trashing on stuff they like its natural. However I hope as true fans of the series you can see that this franchise deserves so much more and that scoring Andromeda anything beyond a 6 is an exaggeration and only serves to downplay the franchise and present to people that mass effect fans have low standards.

    Bluntly put as consumers we deserved so much more then an unfinished and unpolished game riddled with bugs and technical issues (I've crashed quite a number of times) of which unfortunately is the group Andromeda is in. With that out of the way let me address the cons of this game so new comers and old fans that haven't pre-order yet can know what exactly their jumping into.

    Right of the bat you're treated to some of the most horrendous character designs and animations that make u paused and wonder if they transferred this particular part of the game creation to some shady third party. The contrast in quality between your characters and the level is striking with emotionless faces being the norm in almost every conversation, not a soothing thought when mass effect highly prides itself in conversations and character buildup. Speaking of character buildup its very weak, at least in comparison to previous mass effects. Everyone seems too willing to be your pawn and despite bioware clear attempt to introduce varied personalities, none of them brought a sense of companionship instead feeling very artificial and forced.

    Gameplay wise Andromeda gun fights are fun despite the AI occasional suicidal nature. Its clear from the start though that Bioware focused more on the shooter elements then the RPG side. The game is much more fast pace and hectic then previous iterations and this might put some old time fans off. The removal of locking you to a class is a good improvement and helps more people experience different classes as opposed to starting all over, you can also mix skills between classes.

    In conclusion, I really can't recommend this game to anyone. Sure the fights can be fun, the levels can look amazing. However the cons makes this a game worth passing. If you're a sci-fi junkie or/and mass effect fan like me, then I'd suggest you wait till bioware comes and fix the glaring issues plaguing the game. Ultimately this score reflects my opinion that a game should never be released in this state.    … Expand

The animation bugs only added to my sense of dread as I fired up the game, and the fact that the pupils of the characters are so **** massive only creeped me out the longer I played up until I uninstalled and asked for my refund. Like, how did those massive eye voids even make it past Q&A? How did the game make it past Q&A? Did Bioware employ no **** playtesters or something? This is such a huge disappointment if the game can't even hook Mass Effect veterans despite it being the "next generation of Mass Effect games."     Wanted so bad to like this one, but ultimately it fell flat. It never was going to live up to the trilogy, but as an RPG it couldn't hold its own. Bad cc, combat watered down with loss of squad tactics, awful animations and technical performance, backward writing and interactions, etc.

    Just no, even ME3 is better than this sad excuse for an Mass Effect game. It looses almost everything that is Mass Effect while keeping almost all the bad parts. Combat is silly at best, controls are buggy, animations are wonky at best. Storytelling lackluster, customization and squadies are not interesting. This could have been great, had it not fell flat on it's stomach.

The dialouge and animations are retardet, I'm not dissagreeing with you guys, but it's not worth calling the game unplayable and throwing the game out the window because of that. The story is great so far, it's mysteries and I constantly wanna know what comes next.

    There's a lot to take in when you jump into the game. There's a lot of story and new things you have to try to understand. But you catch on quick. The combat is fun and there's manay options to choose from when choosing your prefered combat style.

    This is my first review ever and I really don't know what to write.... Please don't listne to these idiots giving 1-2 score. The game is definently worth buying and playing. These people expected a sequel and the impossible. Anyone thinking that Andromeda would live up to the hype are obviously idiots... I'm just happy that we got another Mass Effect game at all, you ungreatfull morons.

    Just terrible, worst thing about this game for me is that I spent $70 for the deluxe edition... Bugs galore, ugly ugly disgusting looking characters, pushing some weird SJW agenda, terrible voice acting and snorefest story. The game play is nothing new and is reminiscent of ME1 but its okay passable, however ME is supposed to be character and story driven which is where this game failed.

I have played every inch of the original Mass Effect trilogy and admired how much detail and heart Bioware gave to this new science fiction franchise.

    For MEA, I ignored the early impressions by reviewers and media personalities. I ignored the obvious red flags in relation to the facial animations as well. Because I WANT THIS GAME TO BE GOOD. It was wishful thinking.

    The biggest failure of this game is not the technical issues such as the pop up textures, the creepy faces or even the lack of customization for the characters. It is THE WRITING. Yes, a Bioware game which has horrendous, amateurish writing. All characters, including the aliens, are written as if they were high school teenagers on a vacation to some exotic island. If this is not titled Mass Effect, you might be led to think that this is somehow a fanfiction of The OC set in space.

    And this style of amateurish writing is not a sign of incompetence neither. I firmly believe that this was a DELIBERATE CHOICE. Gone are the subtleties of intergalactic species relationship and conflict, replaced by efforts to make everyone (including the ALIENS) relatable to casual fans who do not care about the lore at all.

    The most jarring of all is your encounter with the Angara (not a spoiler since it was shown in the trailers). Within 2 minutes of encountering the Angara, the Pathfinder can not only understand everything the aliens FROM ANOTHER GALAXY are saying but also understand their basic motivations. The fact that both the player and the Pathfinder can immediately recognize concepts within the Angaran society (even basic ideas such as helping, eating, trust, honesty) is a testament to the effort which Bioware and EA has undertaken to trivialize all "minute detail" of the story.

    There are countless other examples. Peebee, the asarian companion, commenting that she only needs a toothbrush and a bed to come onboard the tempest as if she were a human being. Drack the Krogan having a completely human granddaughter and grandfather relationship with 0 comment on the fact that the survival rate of Krogan children is below 5% because of the genophage.

    I cannot continue with this game anymore. I can excuse the technical and framerate issues. Hell, I would play this game with characters made out of polygons if the writing were excellent. But with EA and the new Bioware decision makers at the helm, all we can hope for going forward is a desperate cash grab with flashy objects, cheap romances with clunky AI characters and a plot catered for 12 year old.

    You really have to force yourself to keep interested in this game,

    It also looks like Bioware went out of there way to make the female characters unattractive, not sure what they were trying to accomplish.

    Just rent it before you buy it.

    Game really bad in today's standards. Very repetitive missions, boring main story, childish new alien races, full of bugs and glitches. The animations, especially face are terrible, what were they thinking? Only kids who only played Call of Duty before would mark this 10/10. We are tired to be EA game-testers.

    I wanted to like this game, I really did, but there are just too many problems, too many bugs and glitches that shouldn't have gotten past the dev phase, and definitely shouldn't be in the finished product.

    It's horrible. You can check out on Youtube how bad facial animations are. There's also tons of bugs with characters missing or running away from the dialogue screen during talking. Helmets magically disappear during cutscenes (even in highly hazardous environments) to further emphasize how badly faces are made, and reappear when the cutscene ends.

    Also, the game likes to **** itself and drop from 60 FPS anywhere to 10 FPS during dialogues and cutscenes with close-ups on faces.
    Oh, and the best part? I can't play the game with subtitles in its spoken language due to Origin restrictions on GAME KEYS, not accounts. Apparently, if I wanted to have english subtitles available, I should've bought the game from a retailer in a country where english is native. Good to know now!

You can even "fix" the exiles with medicine to make them less "violent" and rejecting of the "rightful authorities."

    The game is a travesty. Bioware is filled with SJW's, people unqualified for their jobs, and are more concerned with creating liberal/leftist propaganda than art.

    RPG's are my thing. I've played near every one that has ever come out, from single player to multiplayer to MMO; WoW, FF14, ESO, Everquest, SWG, LoTR Online, Elder Scrolls, and so on and so forth.

    But the reason this is a piece of **** game is because of how much it just rapes the best part of Mass Effect, which was (emphasis on *was*) detailed and carefully written characters and plots. Most of the time, I didn't know if I was playing mass effect or reading tumblr. Every **** strong character is a woman. Not to disparage women, but not all of them are great, and making it appear so is just bad and lazy and ****ty writing.     Would give it a 4/10, but -4 because I feel used and scammed. BARELY playable (I can't load save games without restarting the whole game for example), and even when it is playable it's average at best.

    Worst animations ever seen in a vid game.Not only that all female characters were 'uglyfied' just to please freaking feminism, also all human characters have dead eyes, dead emotions, bad textures, bad animation in walking running or whatever.Even without the endless bugs and glitches everywhere it would be horrible because of the characters behavior that kill every joyable aspect of the game.

    It's terrible game, very boring quests which repeats all the time. This damned scanning every time and everything Terrible dialogs and story line. Ugly characters. I don't now , list with minuses is very big, but most disappointing thing is that i don't see pluses.
    . Very sad that i can't get money back.
    It's not triple A game. it's not ME game which i loved.

    It's impressive that beauty of the galaxy is incorporated, but beauty of creatures and species is not. Why force me to be a hideous, awkward af squeeb face, no matter how much I tweak in character creation? Surely beauty of the face must still exist in the future. Or at least give me some in-game backstory or reason as to why every human looks like a troglodyte, grease baboon with antithetical emotional responses. In each dialogue interaction, I'm either laughing or just creeped the **** out. How is it that with more money, resources, and time, the characters are worse than 10 years ago? No one on the team cross-referenced and said "Oh **** it was better before..."?

    I am only human after all. God I hate this one. I am a huge Mass Effect fan and playing Andromeda was hell of experience. Don't even bother waiting for pirated copy, get familiar with the original trilogy and let ME franchise leave positive emotions. Andromeda is a complete disgrace period. Spectre out.

    BW needs to hire competent people to make their games in the future. this is not good. i miss the good old games like Kotor, Jade Empire, Dragon Age: Origins. back then the company had a passion for making great games with a fantastic story. now the company has been infested with sick people who focus more on pushing their twisted political and social agenda rather than making good games.

    After the triumphant success of previous Mass Effect games, I think many people wanted this game to be another excellent addition to the series. The fact is that it falls way, way short. This game deserves a low rating, and we can hope that low ratings sends a signal to BioWare that quality is what gamers want, not content that satisfies certain fringe political extremists.

    What a disappointment. This game is a DISGRACE. The Story and Characters are **** I'm typically too lazy to actually rate games but this one is such a terrible disappointment I feel compelled to actually say so. I LOVE the original three games and this game dishonors everything that Mass Effect was.

    It might be the biggest, most complex and action packed game in the franchise, but Mass Effect: Andromeda is also the least convincing one. The dated facial animations, the inconsistent writing quality and the regularly occurring bugs take you out of the experience too often. On top of that, BioWare has not used the concept of a whole new universe to its full potential, which often makes it feel like Mass Effect: Andromeda has not left our Milky Way at all.
