    So dissapointing. It could be much more.. It would be much better without looter brawler and co-op. Should be just single player story based game.

    I knew going into this game it wasn’t gonna be good it just didn’t look any good but my brother wanted it for his birthday so I bought it for him (reluctantly) I played it because I really like super heroes and beat this game in about 2 days time I have no issues being wrong about things but this game I was not wrong about it was cringe, boring and repetitive as hell. I couldn’t recommend this game to a single person unless they enjoy mindless repetition a cookie cutter story. I liked Kamala but some of her lines seriously ruined cutscenes and serious deliveries of other character lines when she starts fangirling on the spot. I thought some of the voice acting in the game was kinda bad I was really disappointed in Troy Baker I thought his portrayal of Bruce was bland and his character didn’t add anything to that game. I was a little bugged by Nolan North being in the game seeing as he usually uses his Nathan Drake voice in everything but surprisingly didn’t bother too much I thought Laura Bailey did a good job with Black Widow but Captain America easily the worst acted character in the game for him speaking completely took me out of the immersion. This game is one of the worst games I’ve played throughout this console generation. Please Square Enix don’t make another.… Expand

    An absolute joke compared to the Arkham games and Spider-man on PS4. Who asked for a looting style superhero game, especially with substandard gameplay? Also, Kamala Khan is a completely lame character, just a knock off Mr. Fantastic with social justice thrown in. Granted, the writing for her character is better than the comics but next to the Avengers, she just pales in comparison. AAn absolute joke compared to the Arkham games and Spider-man on PS4.     I'm not going to say this is a bad game .. it has some potential. What i will say is that I would recommend waiting 6 months to a year before purchasing the game. It is bug ridden and after 20 hours gets very repetitive. If you buy this in its current state, you will just be frustrated (because of the amount of bugs) and bored (due to the lack of variety in missions). The campaign isn'tI'm not going to say this is a bad game .. it has some potential. What i will say is that I would recommend waiting 6 months to a year before purchasing the game. The campaign isn't terrible, i quite enjoyed it but it only last around 12 hours. The endgame is where it just falls completely flat, it almost feels like there was no quality control put into the game. Too many bugs, releasing a game in this state should be outlawed. It makes Anthem look like game of the year. The gear/loot system has no cosmetic change to the character making it basically a pointless system just thrown in for whatever reason. The game feels like a chore to play and isn't worth 60 dollars. It could be good at some point but at the moment stay far away from it.

    EDIT: As of March 2022, game remains a cash grab. It's trash sorry. Poor suckers continue to play a game that only offers overpriced cosmetics.    … Expand

    Repetitive, boring, story-line is full of BS. Playing on a game-pad is a never-stopping rumble mess.
    Nice graphics is the only good thing about this game.

Its great if you're a marvel nut, but to the hard-core gamer this is totally on The Last of Us 2 levels of fun… Expand

    I think the most frustrating part of this game is that it dangles in front of you “what it could be”. Just think if they had made this a linear game with hub areas like another Square product FFVII Remake, or say they decided to go open world like Insomniac’s Spider-Man.

    Believe it when people who played this game's beta thought the game was disappointing. The problems this game has are baked in and a full release wouldn't fix those problems. It has pretty dry combat with pretty uninspired level design wrapped in looter systems. Just imagine Anthem but with melee. It's just so hard to stay with the story, especially when signposting is not the best and the main hub is wonky. I can't speak to the multiplayer, but the game is just below average, overall. I hope Crystal Dynamics goes back to focusing on games like their Tomb Raider series, because this is maddening.… Expand

The story was a disjointed mess, the gameplay is barely functional at times and of course there's the plethora of bugs/glitches. I've never seen level design quite this basic in any game let alone a AAA game that reportedly cost $200 million to make. I can't believe the only villians were taskmaster and Modok and if we are being generous we can count abomination. Modok (this isn't a spoiler they actually show it in the game's commercials) is the only with with an actual boss fight and it glitched out on me constantly, I still have no idea how I got past it. Constant audio issues and graphical glitches as well. This game needed another 2 years of development but instead they decided to release it as a "finished" product. Not to mention the multiple battle passes - oh yea have fun grinding those just take a look at the dailes/weeklies most are over the top obnoxious to finish and you have to do it for each character. It was designed that way on purpose to annoy people into buying microtransactions.

    TL;DR - 2 hours of gameplay stretched to 1000s because of repeating the same content over and over, worst level design in existence, horrible monetization schemes and scams. Utterly pathetic this is the best they could do.    … Expand

    Was so excited, then the demo came out and I said ehh. Now I've had the game for 3 days now... What's the point of this game? It seems like a cluster of button mashing. All you do is guard areas and survive waves of enemy's gets oils within hours. A polished hollow game. I'd take my money back and wipe my ass before buying again

    This game will not make you feel like an Avenger. It's combat system is cluttered while the story and characters just feel cheap. It gets even worse with its repetitive missions/AI's and its cynical in-game microtransactions. I tried liking the game, but it was too passionless.

    Marvels Avengers is a mess of a game. On one side we got a great story with great characters, on the other we have boring and repetitive gameplay. The rpg mechanics of this game doesnt work. They could have done so much with the Avengers IP but instead they did this buggy, incoherent mess.

    Fundamentally, this game has some half decent extras, solid character performances on an OK story, but the game is boring. It's a looter shooter of the most basic kind. You have six slots for gear that upgrade 4 stats. The few stats mean that you have no opportunity for builds, no varied strategies, and linear level design mean you are just brute forcing your way through the entire game. The gear system is just to create busy work in levels, to find chests. If they removed it entirely and you just got stronger as you levelled it would be just as effective but remove tedious menuing. They constantly bug you to upgrade and drops are very common, meaning an alarmingly large amount of the game is spent in menus.

    The robots you fight are at exactly the wrong level. Too tough to get any cathartic sense of fighting through waves of fodder (you know, how it should feel to play the Hulk), too weak and lacking enough variety to be tactically interesting. You fight the same robots in the same environments, mission after mission, any pleasure quickly fades. The one highlight is fighting bosses, but these are few and far between.

    There is a half decent sorry here, Kamala khan is a likeable enough audience POV character, and you can get engaged in the story, simple though it is. But it is not enough to make up for the pain of playing it.

    Everything that is wrong with this game is a failure of game design. They allowed commercial pressures to come before a fun experience and it shows that no one cares about the end product. This is not a good idea executed badly; I can forgive that, often there is still something to be proud of. This was a set of unoriginal ideas executed to the bare minimum to meet a need for a revenue generator. I doubt anyone involved in this is proud of it.    … Expand

    A decent story that will keep you invested enough your first time playing, however the gameplay is SO repetitive and dull that you'll struggle to find the desire to play it again more than once. Also expereinced a few bugs on top of that as well.

    Honestly for a AAA game based upon the biggest movie franchise going this is a massive dissapointment. Avoid unless you can get it dirt cheap.

    this game is like made for kids, feel like playing extended part of Future Fight :v. Tons of hilarious non-sense details in this game. Also i feel this game has almost no creativity, it's boring, idiot while im sure that the developers could have done far better.     The game play is somewhat fun but the thing that is a big letdown is the lack of equipment customization you character doesn't show any changes instead they pull and anthem were you can just buy a skin that is just a lazy way to do thing, also after a while it is just repetitive if you are a fan this is for you but if not well there are probably better options out there or coming soon.

    Sad that square enix can't seem to make a decent game anymore, that isn't a obvious cash grab. Only reason Im giving it a 3 is because to campaign story is actually really good, too bad its only about 10 hours, the rest is grinding, tedious, repetitive missions to be the best fan boy i guess.

    Hi, my experience with avengers is poor.
    Lots of bugy mechanics, not much to do after campaign. Its worst then Marvel Future Fight and that is a free mobile game.
    Don’t understand why they went in this direction with Marvel title.
    I was hoping it is going to be a lots of fun, though that turned out to be a lot of... frustration! Hope they will change some of the mechanics and abilities- boring!

Along with more bugs in it than Antmans underpants, it gets old, boring and frustrating real fast.

    So, played a little more, and it's still so terribly clunky. and if you put a foot (or hand) wrong you have a longer than reasonable loading screen before you can get back into it. This kills any flow you might have and really it just feels like a poorly polished knockoff of so many other games. The camera and movement is still skittish and laggy. It just doesn't feel great. The environment design is nice, but that's about it. Deleted it in the end. Rare that i don't at least get through a campaign, but i think i was spoiled by Tsushima and The Last of us 2 , which are infinitely more polished.    … Expand

    I couldn’t finish it. I wanted to, it was sorta interesting to see where the story goes, but the gameplay... is just so.... damn.... boring! Game design is awful here, I was almost making myself play the game. Couldn’t stand it, had to delete, it brings no joy, it’s as if someone in the development team was trying to suck all the fun out of gameplay on purpose :(

    This game should be SOOOOO much better but falls flat in almost every way. Ironman flies like a tank, hulk is nerfed, same with Thor. Black Widow, and Cap are good. The worst is this is just another money grabbing cash cow that fell flat.

    Overall, kind of disappointing. Plus Microtransactions SUCK in this. While it was great to see AIM finally given some screentime, theres a lot of flaws here that are hard to overlook. Combat is VERY repetitive, hero abilities are ... uninspired. Would not play again, and would not buy again.

    This game had so much potential, it's got great graphics and sound but apart from that its a mess. Please dont waste your money even if you find it in the bargain bin. I quit after the first half an hour, trust me, you will too.

Only the first 2 hours with Kamala Khan are good, because it´s story focused like The Last of Us, Tomb Raide or Nier. After Kamala and Hulk trying to find the members it´s ALWAYS the same. Select mission > Wait for random people > Infiltrate a small base of aim > kill robots > look for unnecessary information ..... Why can´t I kill as Hulk a small Robot?     I think the game would be great if they developed the singleplayer Campaign more and focused on an linear Action Adventure more than a Games as a Service, but MONEY.

    I know this is a GaaS, but the base game really needs to be able to stand on its own in order to justify both the initial price, and its extensive marketing campaign...which does indeed advertise Avenger's as a complete gaming experience.

    Here is the deal, there are only 3 supervillains in this game. That is it...just three. The rest are just generic looking robots. You get a 5 hour    I know this is a GaaS, but the base game really needs to be able to stand on its own in order to justify both the initial price, and its extensive marketing campaign...which does indeed advertise Avenger's as a complete gaming experience.

    Here is the deal, there are only 3 supervillains in this game. That is it...just three. The rest are just generic looking robots. You get a 5 hour campaign, where you do nothing but fight generic robots. Its bland and boring. Square had the entire catalogue of Marvel characters at it's disposal and they thought it was a good idea to make 4 out of the 7 boss fights just be against generic robots that might as well have been regular enemies? That doesn't make any sense...it makes so little sense that I'm actually offended that they tried to pass it off as quality content.

    On top of that, you only get to really play as 4 of the 6 members of The Avengers, as two of the team isn't unlocked until the campaign is almost completed. The foundation for a decent game is here, but at launch this is NOT worth the price. Marvel fans should wait a year until they pick this game up. As by then they'll hopefully be an actual game worth playing.

    The amount of greed in a superhero game with children as it's main audience is disgusting. The combat is very average and sometimes clunky and broken. The level design is laughable and not made for any of the heroes you play as. Hard skip this one

    No lorgro entender como hay gente que pone baja calificación a the last of us 2 porque no gustaron cosas precisas de la historia, y a este juego que es un desastre le pone 10. Marvels avengers si bien tiene buenos graficos, no son algo deslumbrante. Los personajes no estan bien desarrollados y ni hablar de kamala que es totalmente IRRITANTE y encima es el personaje principal.     Awful UI , inconsistent mechanics , horrendous explanation of abilities and customization. Laughable bugs after a 6 month delay. Constantly having to restart encounters due to bugs. The only saving grace is the graphics. This game is a joke and a rip off

    It could’ve been a great single player title. The publisher chose to go down the game as a service path though, and those who prefer to play solo need to tackle run-of-the-mill co-op missions. The multiplayer on the other hand is messy, chaotic and in the long run boring. When the developers manage to fix the most pressing bugs and find a way to bring more variety to co-op, this might become a solid game. Right now, I can only recommend it to the biggest fans of the Avengers. [11/2020, p.26]

    This is the perfect example of "Games as a Service" done right. Marvel's Avengers offers up a superb campaign story to play through that is promised to be expanded on in the future. The gameplay may be repetitive, but it includes just enough to keep players interested and invested in the endgame content that is available now to keep this game going until the next step in its roadmap. The possibilities and potential in the future here are hugely exciting.

    There have been plenty of moments during my time with Marvel's Avengers where I’ve genuinely had a great time. But this game keeps finding ways to drag itself down- at times it almost feels like it goes out of its way to do so. There’s just so much here that I can’t overlook, no matter how hard I may try. An unnecessary and broken loot system, a litany of horrible technical issues, uninspired and one-note mission design, and a story that fails just as much as it succeeds- it doesn’t matter how mindlessly fun the combat is, it isn't enough to overcome such a heavy list of problems.
