    Cheap gameplay with lots of options to dish out more real life money for crap skins. This is insulting. Don't give this company any money. Sick of unfinished games, that are full price, with outrageous amounts of content devoted to micro-transactions.

    This game is certainly rough in many spots. The visuals while good looking in spots, eventually I find areas of the game that look horrible. Poor texturing on some of the scenery. The combat is generic and lazy and the animations are jarringly robotic. The story seems to be the strongest part of the game, but honestly with the repetitive and lazy combat, I have no desire to see this gameThis game is certainly rough in many spots.     Beyond the game play as a whole I'm going to criticize the way this game is being advertised and monetized. With companies like Verizon and Intel having skins in the game like one big advertisement for the companies and only giving people who use these products/services the chance to get these special skins. PS4 users are also getting Spider-man locked beyond some terrible console exclusivity. Insomniac already showed how to make a proper super hero video game and now Square Enix is shoveling out this embarrassment as an easy cash grab.

    I would only recommend this game to someone who is purely looking to play it for the story, but honestly no matter how good the story is you'll be suffering through the excruciating painful combat.    … Expand

    No lorgro entender como hay gente que pone baja calificación a the last of us 2 porque no gustaron cosas precisas de la historia, y a este juego que es un desastre le pone 10. Marvels avengers si bien tiene buenos graficos, no son algo deslumbrante. Los personajes no estan bien desarrollados y ni hablar de kamala que es totalmente IRRITANTE y encima es el personaje principal.     I think most gamers already said this but i wanted to raise this again. I dont support games that are just repetetive for the same of selling in-game rewards.
    Its just a shame that a game this expensive still pushed you to spend more money. How can a brand with so many famous characters fail. A so so story and short gameplay is all this is.     Marvel's Spider-Man (and spin-off Miles Morales) on PS4 and PS5 is a marvel of a game. Marvel's Avengers is the exact opposite of a marvelous game.

    The problem is that Crystal Dynamics wanted to make a live service game without knowing how to actually make it. And because they designed it as a GaaS, there is no skill in this game's combat system, unlike the 2 games developed by    Marvel's Spider-Man (and spin-off Miles Morales) on PS4 and PS5 is a marvel of a game. Marvel's Avengers is the exact opposite of a marvelous game.

    The problem is that Crystal Dynamics wanted to make a live service game without knowing how to actually make it. And because they designed it as a GaaS, there is no skill in this game's combat system, unlike the 2 games developed by Insomniac Games. You just have to deal damage to sponges, unleash powers and ultimates, and heal yourself, just like you would if you were playing a MMO. This design decision contradicts the very nature of superheroes. Can you imagine, for example, the Hulk being kicked in the ass by puny robots one quarter his size and them not being smashed with one hit? Or Thor swinging Mjolnir into human enemies and them still being alive after the hit? That's what we see in this game.

    I managed to play just the intro (which is easily the best part of the game) and a couple early missions where I had to deal with waves of spawning and re-spawning enemies in enclosed arenas for an eternity. Then I had enough. And that little girl Kamala Khan aka Miss Marvel is actually very annoying, on top of being a forced diversity/woke/SJW BS.

    On PS4 performance is capped at 30 fps, but good luck with all the 20 fps drops when the action really heats up with dozens of enemies on screen.

    Yeah, I hate MMOs and loot-based games such as Destiny and The Division. But I'm pretty sure even people who like these genres would really dislike Marvel's Avengers. And I'm surprised we got a GaaS game by Square Enix instead of EA or Activision. I just wish Disney had allowed Sony to make an Avengers game.    … Expand

    I couldn’t finish it. I wanted to, it was sorta interesting to see where the story goes, but the gameplay... is just so.... damn.... boring! Game design is awful here, I was almost making myself play the game. Couldn’t stand it, had to delete, it brings no joy, it’s as if someone in the development team was trying to suck all the fun out of gameplay on purpose :(

    Just a oke, unpolished, average story with oke combat, boring enemy and env design and repetitive gameplay. I never thought anyone can make a loot system this boring and uninteresting, they definitely raised the bar in wrong direction.

    This game had so much potential, it's got great graphics and sound but apart from that its a mess. Please dont waste your money even if you find it in the bargain bin. I quit after the first half an hour, trust me, you will too.

    I really like Marvel movies. I didn´t expect a deep dive story like The last of us but nice Action with my favorite Heroes.
    I think the game would be great if they developed the singleplayer Campaign more and focused on an linear Action Adventure more than a Games as a Service, but MONEY.

    Repetitive an buggy, this game has been nothing but a dissapointment for a teu Marvel fan!!! Spent 5 hours trying to play the game and have just now requested a refund of my money over Steam. Not worth the play as rhe mechanics are terrible!

After the first 3-4 hours, coming back to play this would be such a chore. Doesnt matter if you;re IronMan, Thor, Widow or Hulk, you have to smash!

The only moments that were interesting where the scenes which literally copied the MCU. It gets repetitive due to constantly fighting robots that are damage sponges. Игра просто ужас, модельки будто из fuse взяты и сверху текстуры просто натянуты, боевая система такая что можно тыкать на удар и не смотреть в монитор, все ровно выиграешь а уровни все до ужаса одинаковые. Персонажи ужасные, никакой отзывчивости в управлении и все это с кучей транзакцийВпервые ставлю оценку!     The game is surprisingly good and the story is really good too (and its also original). However, i dont think the looting system is that satisfying overall, and it feels kinda frustrating, when you constantly have to switch out different kinds og gear at all time. Gameplay is fun and can be a bit challenging at times.

    Destiny/Anthem/Ghost Recon/ Warframe again why is every game a loot shooter trying to make more money on people? This has so much potential, but has so many flaws. Wish Crystal Dynamics just stuck to Tomb Raider.

You get a 5 hour campaign, where you do nothing but fight generic robots. Its bland and boring. Square had the entire catalogue of Marvel characters at it's disposal and they thought it was a good idea to make 4 out of the 7 boss fights just be against generic robots that might as well have been regular enemies? That doesn't make any sense...it makes so little sense that I'm actually offended that they tried to pass it off as quality content.

    On top of that, you only get to really play as 4 of the 6 members of The Avengers, as two of the team isn't unlocked until the campaign is almost completed. The foundation for a decent game is here, but at launch this is NOT worth the price. Marvel fans should wait a year until they pick this game up. As by then they'll hopefully be an actual game worth playing.

    Currently the game is bland, colorless, and boring - it is cinematic to a fault which means that realism was given priority over "fun."    … Expand

The multiplayer aspect of the game finds itself getting in the way of the single player experience. The story itself isn't necessarily a bad one. The game just gets in its own way its pretty hardMixed emotions on the game. The story starts off pretty fast & interesting but quickly finds itself sinking and it struggles to pick itself back up tho it does manage to at least try a few times. The multiplayer aspect of the game finds itself getting in the way of the single player experience. The story itself isn't necessarily a bad one. The game just gets in its own way its pretty hard to feel connected to the story tho I do love the direction they took with Ms Marvel. The whole gear & loot stuff is pretty dull and beyond pointless & can somewhat get confusing as to wtf its purpose is. The live service doesn't do the game any justice what so ever. I dont think the game is bad but I do feel like its a game that would of definitely benefited from keeping the single player aspect of the game separated from the multiplayer aspect… Expand

    - The war table missions are tedious, repetitive and offer no real sense of achievement after you’ve smashed through waves of the same mindless AIM robots.
    - Base/Standard costumes are locked away after the first story mission. How the developers dared to release this title under the condition it is in and represent Marvel like this is beyond me. Either they don’t care or they are deluded to the point they think that what they have produced is worthy enough to carry a powerhouse name such as The Avengers.    … Expand

    Graphic glitches, messed up physic, Bad Sound, Time wasting mechanics, repetitive Gameplay, messed up camera and General Bugs and this Spiderman only playable on PS nonsense.
    That pretty sums up the experience with this game.

    No thanks. Worst of 2020 so far.

    - Predictable story
    - Frame rate issues
    - General bugs and glitches (quite a few)
    - Boring gameplay - Unrewarding - Short story
    Pros:
    -good final mission - can play with friends

    This isn't even a game, it's a glorified casino. If you want to get the entire game, DLC, mictrotransactions, pre-order bonuses, etc. You'll be looking at well over 1000 dollars. Save your money for a real game that's not so greedy.

    This isn’t a review inasmuch as a thanks to the numerous people who own the game have rated it and made me make my decision in whether or not purchase. I won’t be buying it. I love the MCU, I love the movies, but simply put this isn’t good enough. Too many negatives and I won’t be investing so it’s a no from me. The fact the a lot of the main critic reviews aren’t out either.

Despite the game being not bad or good it is riddled with microtransactions and what is basically a loot box and many currencies. It's not a kid family game due to the heavy handed extras. I'm rarely, over my 20+ years of gaming, having ever run into bugs, and that includes games from Bethesda. I'm rarely, over my 20+ years of gaming, having ever run into bugs, and that includes games from Bethesda. I, in fact, openly admit I would be a horrible game tester because of how often I seem to have no problems while others run into a surplus. This game, however, is polluted with bugs, I truly wonder who (if anyone) was hired to do any sort of alpha, beta or bug testing before this games' release. Audio bugs, cosmetic bugs, combat bugs, the game crashing at random moments. You name it, the game'll have a bug affecting how enjoyable that aspect is.

    The combat, for all its positives have an equal amount of negatives; It's *too* chaotic and at the best of times, simply unfair, and that's not even including how awful your AI partners are. When you've got 2 of them off in a completely different zone running around in circles (literally) and one of them just staring off into space, meanwhile you have to fend off 20 machines that all spawn at once, some of them being gigantic damage-sponges, even without the 10000-damage shields some of them come equipped with, needless to say, you're pretty screwed and you're going to have to die to reset the AI so they do what they're supposed to. That's the tip of the iceberg with the combat. Never mind the off-screen turrets of which there is a surplus is every level, flying enemies with ranged weapons with bullets all traveling at varying speeds, so the attack indicators on them do you absolutely no good. Then you have enemies with incredibly broken mechanics, featuring god-levels of tracking on their attacks, stun locks that last a good 2 seconds, then they proceed to 2-shot or 1-shot your character, even playing as the Hulk. Again...not even the tip of the iceberg with combat....

    The story thus far, granted I haven't finished it, has many parts where it simply feels very disjointed. Events happen that you are not privy to and you're just left wondering, "how exactly did that character accomplish this?" The world may never know because the devs designed a contrived, cheesy, cliché, and half-assed story that, amid all the time they had, and still feels like it's missing a lot of parts and context.

    It needs so much work still that again, I'm brought back to my original point and question of why it was released in its current state. Maybe down the line, after the team has had a LOT of time to work out these bugs, fine-tune the experience, add more characters, maybe fix the story by adding in some necessary cut-scenes? Truly, I don't envy the team with how much more work needs to go into the game - I just regret buying it on release.    … Expand

    This game is a disaster. Bugs everywhere that crashed my PS4 pro and glitches that made me have to restart missions. Loot is garbage and worthless. Monetized to hell and back.

Numerous functional issues including local save only (cannot Steam cloud save), complete inability to replay the campaign so then locked into 'end game' multi-player, disappearing inventory and collectible items, incomplete/inaccurate animations and cut scenes, subtitles which outright do not match dialogue, and extensive bugs and crashes... EvenAs it stands, I cannot recommend this game.     Overall, kind of disappointing. Plus Microtransactions SUCK in this. While it was great to see AIM finally given some screentime, theres a lot of flaws here that are hard to overlook. Combat is VERY repetitive, hero abilities are ... uninspired. Would not play again, and would not buy again.

    What a lackluster mediocre attempt at making a game. If I could describe this game in one word it would be generic. The characters are generic. The enemies are generic. The quests and world are generic. The story is literally your generic super hero story. The combat? You guessed it.....generic. So disappointed. Haven't companies learned that the "games as a live service model" is just plain ass?

    The amount of greed in a superhero game with children as it's main audience is disgusting. The combat is very average and sometimes clunky and broken. The level design is laughable and not made for any of the heroes you play as. Hard skip this one

    The game looks really good but the gameplay gets really boring and on controller are some heroes like Iron Man unplayable. The idea of playing the heroes that everyone knows and everyone likes yourself in a video game gets completely destroyed from the fact that non of the characters feel special.

Repetitive combat might be forgiven if the level design wasn't also reused shamelessly. They clearly can't handle telling epic stories for all six heroes.     Awful UI , inconsistent mechanics , horrendous explanation of abilities and customization. Laughable bugs after a 6 month delay. Constantly having to restart encounters due to bugs. The only saving grace is the graphics. This game is a joke and a rip off

    Incredible... in terms of bugs. I am on the anthill mission and a bug appears that does not allow me to advance in the campaign. I have tried to load older files of the game and all the backup copies are from the same day at similar times ... result: I cannot advance in the campaign because of the bug ... incredible how they have been able to launch a video game like that with such aIncredible... in terms of bugs. В игре ужасная оптимизация, куча ненужных спецэффектов, которые могут вызвать припадок. В моей квартире два компьютера: современный и чуть поДобрый день. На компьютере по старее - кроме вышесказанного ещё фризил геймлпей, фризили ролики, которые иногда были черно-белые. Поэтому для меня главной проблемой этой игры является - оптимизация. Но могу так же добавить спорную механику вещей. Большая куча мусорных вещей, которая просто дает какую-то призрачную мощь. Ноль влияния на облик, ноль влияния на тип анимации скилов, сетовых эффектов - просто призрачная мощь...серьезно? Боевые пропуски в покупной игре? Интересный ход. Ну допустим вы будете "качественно" поддерживать игру долгие годы и это будет ваша плата, но подождите, вы даже вложенные 2000 руб. за покупку не оправдали. Какие боевые пропуски? Ребята, исправьте оптимизацию, уберите кучу ненужных эффектов (или сделайте так, что бы они не уничтожали ПК) - оправдайте, вложенные 2000 руб. и тогда, можно будет в это играть, тогда можно будет задуматься о боевых пропусках. На данный момент вы выпустили сырой, багованный до чертиков проект, которые требует не один патч. 4/10 с с призрачной надеждой, что вы всё это исправите. Иначе вы заслуживаете просто 0/10, так как нормально в этот проект мне поиграть не удалось.

    P.S.: Ах да, плевок в сторону людей, которые играют на ПК эксклюзивом ТОЛЬКО ДЛЯ SONY - вы только ухудшили к себе отношение.    … Expand

    The story is pretty poorly written, but considering Marvel comics haven’t been the paragons of good writing recently it wasn’t surprising. Ms. Marvel is the merriest of Mary Sues, she is instantly loved by all the main cast, is caring, confident, intelligent, wise, powerful, and competent from the very beginning, when she is a child. Her story arch is summed up with the phrase, “Good isn’t something you are, it’s something you do”. It’s ironic because she isn’t a good character. The rest of the story is inoffensively predictable, nothing will surprise you.

    The game as whole is a glitchy mess, the default camera angle make combat unbearable as your camera gets dragged into the ground. Use the wide combat camera in the settings. If you want to know more about how the game plays, go play some destiny and that should give you a good idea. I refuse to put more effort describing this games combat than the developers put into it.

    Micro transactions are atrocious. $20 for a single skin is insane for a game I just spent $60 on. Remove them.

    I’m sure this game will be awesome in a year, maybe we will have another battlefront 2 on our hands. Let’s hope because right now it’s not worth the money.    … Expand

    You can have fun playing the game but the expressions are nothing natural, the game is so repetitive, just missions that requires you to go from the point A to point B.

    Play the beta and was underwhelmed. Haven't been able to play the full version as it crashes my PS4 pro within minutes

I had pre-ordered this game on the back of Crystal Dynamics proven talent with previous titles like Tomb Raider and to get early access to the beta. This was a gentle reminder not to ever pre-order something you haven't at least played in some form before. One of the most disappointing games I've played in a long-time and I wasn't even expecting anything super-amazing.....just average. This game is so dull and boring in its gameplay I can't comprehend how they failed this miserably.… Expand

    an absurd price for such a bad game. The game has many failed mistakes, not to mention the horrible sound effects that often fail.

    It could’ve been a great single player title. The publisher chose to go down the game as a service path though, and those who prefer to play solo need to tackle run-of-the-mill co-op missions. The multiplayer on the other hand is messy, chaotic and in the long run boring. When the developers manage to fix the most pressing bugs and find a way to bring more variety to co-op, this might become a solid game. Right now, I can only recommend it to the biggest fans of the Avengers. [11/2020, p.26]

    This is the perfect example of "Games as a Service" done right. Marvel's Avengers offers up a superb campaign story to play through that is promised to be expanded on in the future. The gameplay may be repetitive, but it includes just enough to keep players interested and invested in the endgame content that is available now to keep this game going until the next step in its roadmap. The possibilities and potential in the future here are hugely exciting.

    There have been plenty of moments during my time with Marvel's Avengers where I’ve genuinely had a great time. But this game keeps finding ways to drag itself down- at times it almost feels like it goes out of its way to do so. There’s just so much here that I can’t overlook, no matter how hard I may try. An unnecessary and broken loot system, a litany of horrible technical issues, uninspired and one-note mission design, and a story that fails just as much as it succeeds- it doesn’t matter how mindlessly fun the combat is, it isn't enough to overcome such a heavy list of problems.
