Estava tentado em dar um 7 porque o jogo é um pouco repetitivo, mas apesar disso não deixa de ser divertido. O melhor aspeto é a atmosfera de New Orleans que é uma lufada de ar fresco nos jogos de open world. A jogabilidade é otima. Peca apenas por vir uns anos atrasado. De resto é bom. Nota 8 sem medo.

The protagonist is a Vietnam War veteran who's returned home, so he's got quite some skills when it comes to combat and guerrilla tactics. The developers even included full racism and the language of the era in the game's themes. Some people may be offended by the racist language, but this gives the game authenticity.

Purely judged as a game though, Mafia 3 is lackluster. It's not just the game's bugs (these have been addressed since launch) or its "unfinished graphics" (a frequent criticism). Gameplay is the problem, because it's just like every other Rockstar game. Controls are imprecise (you have the option of having aim assist on High or Medium settings or turn it off) and button layouts make little sense (why use the Triangle button for climbing, when everybody uses the X button instead?). The enemy AI is a joke, more like cannon fodder. And the mission design is both uninspired and repetitive.

All in all, Mafia 3 is a game that may appeal to those looking for a game with an interesting story or unique period setting. But be prepared for some tedious gameplay.

You have Lincoln talk to someone gives some to do list take to take over a territory by either destroying something or mowing a group of gangsters down then interrogate their group leader and either make him part of your gang or kill him. I've played this game for hours and gets no better. It also lacks realism. Something that I felt really separated this game series from the other open world games. Watch Dogs is more realistic then this. Polish? What polish? This game full of glitches. You can't actually buy a lot of things so money is often pointless. Two town in Skyrim has more content than Mafia III. The world is well designed but it feels dead and pedestrians feel equivalent to pedestrians in 3D GTA games. The graphics are so bland. In cutscenes it looks great, but outside of them it looks like this game was made in 2011. Although this game has an awesome story and good characters. But for me you need more elements than that if you're going to make a good game. Expand

Today I just fifnished the game and got some + and - for it:

    Pluses:
    - atmosphere in the game (music, all this collections stuff, the world)
    - car driving ( its really good in this game)
    - the characters (most of them made greatlly)
    - the process of shooting was good enough for me too
    - some good jokes (almost all of them from Donovan)

    Minuses:
    - not the best main story (too predictable also)
    - similar quests and missions through the whole game
    - the way of passing this missions is always the same too (going the sideback door and killing all enemys silently, or going the main entrance and shooting them)
    - bugs with the missions sometimes

So even though pluses > minuses, the minuses are more weighty for me, so the game got only 6. Of course i enjoyed playing it, but sometimes it becomes too boring. And if Mafia I and Mafia II was passed through by me for 2-3 times, i dont think that i will play Mafia III one more time

Bored, I downloaded Mafia 3 to see what it was about.

What I expected: Some bad driving mechanics, a cliché story line, a poor-mans GTAV.

What I got: A really fun GTAV rip off with a story I really loved. The settings of 1960s America, the race riots and failed war on Vietnam, the anti communism racist Americans and playing as a black veteran, made for a really interesting set up, and from the first mission, you are on an excellent revenge story, slowly turning the knife on a mob boss who owns the city which is split between a handful of varied districts.
There's a lot of duck-and-cover mechanics going on, and AI isn't the best, but it's relentlessly fun to play through. The limiting of ammo and weapons to begin with, made the first half of the game a pleasure as I was forced to grab guns from dead foes to get further in the sh1t.

As games go, it's not terribly original, it's not anything you've not seen before, but regardless, when I watched the credits go after 50hrs of playing, I looked back and thought, that was pure fun.

Don't listen to the negative reviews - if you can get this for £10 pre owned, its a fun as fook game to play through

So what I will do with these gaming reviews is I will basically write a few lines, give some verdicts on the game (some of you might just want the pros and cons at the bottom with the score for example) I just completed. This means sometimes the games might be a bit old (like this one) but at the same time I guess many of you out there are like me and buy games on sale a long time after they were actually released. I have only bought a handful of games on their release day these past years so it would honestly be impossible for me to give you reviews on brand new games haha. Anyway there you have the deal of this new part of The Metal Gamer!

Holy moly did this game start of well. I honestly couldn’t stop playing this game the first couple of hours as it was so captivating and everything was so well put together. Driving felt alright (better in the other Mafia games in my opinion), controls was what you expect from a game like this and the music, God damn the music was spot on and near a perfect soundtrack to Mafia 3. Initially it had anything you want in a great Mafia game, good character, a robbery, and then a betrayal. Not only did it all go wrong for you character at that point but the game itself also lost its edge. It didn’t take long until the gameplay became repetitive and boring, I had to struggle to actually finnish the game and from what I first saw as a really great game lost its grip on me and became a tedious task to complete. A real shame that was, because Mafia 3 had all the potential in the world to become the best game in what already is a great series. New Orleans wasn’t alive enough and it feels like they lost their touch half-way through. So here I am with a bitter taste in my mouth for what the game could have been and not what it is. It is still a good game that those of you who like the series and open world games in general are sure to have some fun hours on but damn do I wish the rest of it lived up to the wicked good start…

    Pros

Mafia III is a game that proves how repetition can kill a potentially great video game. There was so much potential with its great setting and amazing characters. The 1960’s setting is done very well and is handled with great respect. The dedication to the time period is extremely refreshing. The characters are all unique and well voice acted. They all feel like they belong in the time period. But that’s where the positives end. The gameplay is mediocre with okay shooting mechanics. The driving feels weighty and accurate for the vehicles of that time period but ended up with me spinning out a lot.
What’s possibly the worst issue with the game is how boring it gets. The missions are all repetitive and follow the same formula: Go to a district, cause a certain amount of damage, deal with the local boss, repeat. I did this a total of 18 times and the only variations are the items I needed to damage/destroy.
In conclusion: the setting is great, but the missions are boring. If your interested in seeing an accurate depiction on the 1960’s then you might want to give it a try. If you’re looking for a fun gameplay experience then there are many other games to choose from.

I played it a little over a year after release so I did not experience the bugs so many early players did. With the ending credits cut scene, I was hoping for a Donovan/CIA game to be made.

The bad? Just about everything else. AI is either too stupid or too smart. A few times you can change position in combat and they may lose sight of you and still shoot at your last position. Most of the time, they can see where you go. Even though this is not the place for rating add-ons, I need to mention that they should have been released with the game. One of them makes no sense as you rebuild your dad's bar and get no income back from it. Another allows you to grow marijuana and profit a bit from it, although you have to drive across the map to harvest it. Also, you cannot activate the DLC until well into the game. Profits from the grow farm do not add up, especially with the money you put in to upgrade the farm. If you collect Trophies, you will have to replay the game yet again to easily get at least 3 trophies.

Yes a game of a motonn and in it isn't present at all almost anything about "classical" mafia. But the main plot on what keeps a game - it is and there is desire to show all as "classical" mafia died. Missions for extermination of lieutenants and a cap are unique missions, some at what are perfectly directed. The physics of motor transport is executed is unique, there is no stupid copying from the GTA series. And though in general a game reminds, it is rather a techno demo as in due time was with the first part of Assassin's Creed. It is necessary to remember how successfully there was the 2nd part of that series when have added a variety and integrated these monotonous minor missions into a plot. It will also be possible in Mafia 4, a game that was on sale not badly.
Yes this game not a masterpiece, but comes out not so much games where the setting both on time, and in the scene of action, Louisiana one of the most interesting and mysterious places of the USA is unique.

As a long time fan of the Mafia series, I will admit I was disappointed when I first heard that Mafia 3 was steering away from the Italian mob. Now that I have played it for 20 hours or so, I'm fine with the protagonist change. I think this games story touches on some very controversial topics, but I admire it for that. Mafia 2 is still my favorite game in the series, and I often go back to play it just because I am so in love with the "NYC" during Christmastime setting in the first half of the game. Back to Mafia 3, I believe that the game is a lot less narratively focused than it's predecessors, and because of that it can start to feel repetitive after a while. I find myself playing the game in 2 hours bursts, after which I switch to a different game for variety. I much preferred the story driven missions in Mafia 1 and especially 2. With all this being said, Mafia 3 is still a good game, and I don't regret my time spent playing it. Just be aware that it is basically a sandbox game, punctuated by excellent cutscenes. You gather info on a bad guy, disrupt the bad guys business, take down said bad guy, then move on to the next bad guy and repeat the process. If you are a fan of open world sandbox games, you will most likely enjoy this game. I must also mention that the soundtrack is excellent if you like music from the 60's. There are only 3 radio stations, and there is less commercials and spoken word tracks than I would like, but the music is a good background to the action on screen. All in all, a good, but far from perfect game. Expand

Recomendación: NO LO COMPRES, o juégalo prestado. Me lo agradecerías el no tirar tu dinero.

After playing the saga of Grand Theft Auto, from the first game to the V, through the great San Andreas and Vice City, I get fully into the Mafia saga. I felt at ease for the first two installments, which have immersed me in the world of Cosa Nostra, one of the most legendary mafia eras. With details that were taken care of in the least, from the graphic detail, physical, AI, to the concept of the game, very well taken, and that caused a brutal immersion. Now I find Mafia 3, a title with an even more interesting story, since the mafia has diversified, and set in a post-war period in Vietnam, where there was still a lot of racial segregation. A very attractive character like Lincoln Clay, and a very well made argument, telling us a story of revenge.
It has opted for the open world, a concept that has been used in lots of games, but here, it is very badly applied. Map and world completely dead, practically all missions are the same, do the same thing one and another, and another, and another, and again. Bored to say enough, pure monotony in the fighting, in the "exploration", come, like a FF XIII, but instead of having a corridor, we have a dead world, without the great variety that the previous deliveries had. A game that at 2 or 3 hours, you do not want to play anymore, how boring and monotonous it is. A very bad concept. And this is talking about the game itself.
If we talk about the technical section ... I will contain myself to at least write this review, which hurts itself (but someone has to do it): Bugs of all colors and flavors (revolving doors, the famous "doll mode", crasheos, unbalances in cycles of time, lighting failures, AI that has nothing intelligent, lack of animations, or terrible animations). All the details that in the previous Mafia were as cared for as a baby, here they do not exist. If PC performance is painful, in PS4 it is much worse. I had not played such a big crap since No Man's Sky (and that game was junk), because I do not explain in any other way the 5 crashes I had on PS4.
That is, the game itself sinks. And in what does not sink on the one hand, it sinks on the other, in the form of the repetitiveness that the game has. I am fortunate that they lent it to me, because if I came to buy it, I would have shot myself in the head.
Recommendation: DO NOT BUY IT, or borrow it. You would thank me for not throwing away your money.

The graphics seem to come apart at times, the character in-game look like a cardboard cut-out sometimes and the cars all float LOL. The driving is horrible and the car you drive slides all over the place unless you enter ''slow''-mode. There is no excuse for the crappy driving mechanics because you spend a lot of time on the road in this game and driving should be fun and smooth.

That being said, the takedowns are brutal, the stealth is fun at times and I like the story and some characters.

The price has dropped significantly now and I purchased my copy for 12 pounds. If you don't mind a lot of bugs and want to try this game out for yourself, now is a good time, in my opinion, but my advice would be to just skip this one.

It's not that bad, actually. Just don't expect this to be a masterpiece of a script. Mafia 3 is the type of games, which is overpriced at a full price, but plays really well when bought on sale. This game can bring some great hours of gameplay, first 2-3 hours of introduction is aboslutely great. Overall, this game is not so bad.

I died a lot which was pretty annoying. Obviously if you like a challenge that's fine but I found I had to rely on stealth to get through missions which wasn't always my favorite approach. Loading screens can be very long too. All in all i wouldn't recommend playing it but watching a let's play could be fun if you're curious about the story.

1.Suzhet: went to fight, returned another person. Close people were killed - went to take revenge, along the way to carry and killing half of the city. About character, behavior, charisma, intellect of the main character, I generally keep quiet, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

    2. Horrible monotonous missions, which bring only boredom. All the tasks from the section "come there-then - kill that". And nothing more. Already after three hours the game is terribly annoying. From the present mafia, there is nothing left. It's more like a godfather.

    3. Feels that the game is damp. The number of bugs is just off scale. And the hero now and then gets stuck in the textures. A car with ammunition in general has the property to stop anywhere, whether it be at least the middle of the road.

    4. Perhaps the most important disadvantage is a mediocre schedule. No, I'm not at all a person who only plays games with perfect graphics and all the time comes to the stones in games and digs, saying "Why so few pixels?". Simply, the very fact that the schedule has remained unchanged since the days of Mafia 2 leads me into true discontent. And in places it became even worse. Yes, in that game it was smart and even now looks very pretty, but for such a long time the developers had to create something amazing. Games about Drake and Lara Croft simply erase Lincoln Clay in powder.

    5. Artificial intelligence. Guys in the yard in 2016, in the end. It is very embarrassing for such a misunderstanding. Lincoln, crouching, goes immediately to several victims, and being literally a meter away from them, in three seconds manages to kill them all, and they did not even understand what happened. Well, is that it? And there is still the police, which often do not care if you violate traffic rules or not.

    6. The management of the car was spoiled by the addition of a navigator. So, for example, I do not want to go by arrows, but I like to make a route myself, as I wish.

    7. But this is already a claim to our legalizers. The most terrible subtitles. Not only do they have a small font, they are also shown as a solid block several frames before. It is replaced by 4 or 5 pictures, and the subtitles do not change. I personally would like the information to flow as the words are pronounced by the characters. Yes, they even did not translate the news on the radio, so the simplest thing, well

    8. I'll just say that a lot of chips licked with GTA, Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs.

    9. A small menu settings, corrupted brutality and charisma Vito, a feeling that it's not him, but his clone and much, much more. All the minuses can not be listed. And everywhere scattered money, even on the toilet bowl, except tears of laughter do not cause anything.

I could close my eyes to many blunders, if in the game at least something was done perfectly. But alas. Is that the atmosphere of the game, and even then it is some kind of holey. To play, of course, the game is possible, but the pleasure, as from the previous parts obviously will not. So just kill time and that's it. I recommend it only out of respect for the very line of games. Mafia 3 should definitely be nominated for "The Disappointment of the Year". I was waiting for this game most of all, I liked the mafia first and even more, I was just delighted, the mafia 2. I expected an excellent continuation of the history of Vito and Joe, but got this ... I'm very disappointed, the developers just killed me in the fan .

The final score from me is 3.5 / 10. A terrible mediocrity and disappointment for all the fans of the cult of the mafia.

Very story driven, as were the previous two Mafia releases.

I've yet to really find any issues with this game, Issues that are only specific to this game, none.

Most all games have bugs, but this game, I've come across maybe 2 or 3.

Speaking on the "repetitive" missions, if this game is considered repetitive, so is nearly every other game in existence, as all games are basically, go to X location, clear enemies at X location, retrieve package at X location, meet at X location.

I am just happy to see the involvement of the Black Panthers in here, as well as the rare opportunity to play as a Black man, which is as rare as a blue moon these days.

Which is why I understand all of the negative reviews are just from racist people.

Game play is repetitive; just go to one place and kill some bad dudes and then to an other followed by cut scene and repeat allover again And Side quests are all fetch which don't matter at all.

Mafia 3 is one of the buggiest game i have played, enemies disappear and reappear during gun battle, in some fetch quests the vehicle you are driving will suddenly disappear and you will be standing on the road looking like an ass, Missions will not appear unless you completely quit the game and then restart it, game can also go into bullet mode (very slow) as i experienced it some where close to the end of the game. You can get stuck inside the building and door's wont open etc.

There are also some dumb things like if you hit a bush with a car it is like hitting a wall, if vehicle flip over press exit and character will magically appear out side the car, amount of ammo you can carry is pathetic, stamina level is even more pathetic & Every thing is further spiked up with Miserable lighting effects.

And the Ending is even more messed up.

The customization options available to the player in this game are very limited, because the car customization is very basic, the weapons are not customizable, and there are only a few outfits for you to choose from.

In terms of gameplay, you will probably experience some of the game's gunfights, which are, in my opinion are pretty decent and satisfying, and alltough the stealth is pretty mediocre, you will probably have fun taking out the enemies.

Now, its a fun game and all, but its not worthy of the 60$ it costs. Why?
Because after taking over the first district, you will have to do the same exact procedure for about 20 times, and it gets boring. I'd expect from the developer to add some interest to those awefully repetivite missions, but they are just the same.

The open world in this game, aside from its being so awefully repetitive, is just empty and boring.
AI is stupid and not interesting, and there is nothing to do except the main campaign.

And as for the driving -
    Well,
    it sucks.
    really sucks.

And again, if it wasnt that super repetitive, it was actually a pretty good game. Not GTAV or MGSV,
but still a pretty good game. And i think you shouldn't buy it for more than 10 bucks, because Mafia 3 is just one of those third person shooters.

There is just nothing special in it.
in Watch Dogs its the live city, in GTAV its the amazing characters, in MGSV its the gameplay, but Mafia 3 does not excell in any of those things.

i mean sure, the setting is cool but the main character is so heavily focused on its revenge so the player cant really enjoy exploring the vibe of the city.

Oh boy. The first hour of the game was extremely strong. And the story is actually really good. The Combat omg is terrible and the missions are horrible. It is clearly seen that this is a first time developer with the sky box looking like a NG64 game.

First things first. This is a good game, but not quite a Mafia successor. The guys from hangar 13 did hell of a job on the main story, great voice acting, perfectly done animations and overall an interesting storyline. However, I think, the transformation to an open world hurt this game a lot. It's like they tried to make something from this game which is not and never has been. That beingFirst things first. However, I think, the transformation to an open world hurt this game a lot. It's like they tried to make something from this game which is not and never has been. That being said very inflicts my final rating.

Next is the combat. Oh boy, how I like the combat system in this one, AI reacts to where you shoot them, they even have dialogs like "He's reloading, kill him." which is nice and they act very human-like.

Now we move to the driving. It's not that great, however, when you set it on simulation, it's quite enjoyable, at least for me.

The last thing before I'll say my final verdict, is the graphics... I don't quite understand where all the hate comes from, I can't say anything bad about the graphics, it just looks right, even though there are still some graphical glitches present such as bad lightning when day time and rain or shadows looking very weird, but I hope, they will fix that soon, still it must be said, they should've repaired it before release.

My Final verdict for this game. Although I'm a very huge fan of Mafia I and I somewhat enjoyed the second one I must say this is a good game, it's not amazing but it still builds up the story and gameplay better than Mafia II, which I'm glad it does. 7.5/10

    UPDATE:

After finishing the game I found myself confused, what to think of this entry to the series. First of all, the story is top notch all the way to the end, that didn't change, however to get to the main story missions you have to do these repetitive racket bullcraps where you just start to think you won't be able to finish the game and that's the main problem of this game. I can't believe how someone could make these great and memorable main story missions where you go and kill the sidekicks and underbosses of Sal Marcano and right next to it these shallow, boring and repetitive racket "missions" and to top it all of, just implement them as "main story missions". I just lost it there. So, because of this, I have to lower my initial score and I'm very sorry to do that, because the main story is soo great. 6.8/10

not a good entry into the series. They replaces realism with arcadey style of play. Vehicles moves much less realistically unlike its predecessors which was the whole appeal of Mafia. Mafia 3 is probably one of the hardest games to review. It's very niche in it's appeal.

1st things first - bad aspects. This game is: Repetitive, samey, spartan and probably overlong - and I bloody love it! This game is a sandbox/open world job, but it is NOT GTA or anything similar. What this game actually is, is an extension of Scarface on the PS2. The reason I love this game so much?

1st things first - bad aspects. This game is: Repetitive, samey, spartan and probably overlong - and I bloody love it! This game is a sandbox/open world job, but it is NOT GTA or anything similar. What this game actually is, is an extension of Scarface on the PS2. The reason I love this game so much? Empire building/management. I totally, 100% get, all the arguments about this game being boring, samey and repetitive - the people saying this are NOT wrong. It's just that I LOVE these elements. I would spend hours on Scarface managing my properties, fending off attacks and colleting cash. This is the first game since then that is anywhere close to the same experience.
Whether you enjoy this game will come down to how much you like managing/expanding a criminal empire through performing very samey, reptitive missions. If you don't, then this game will basically be a boring reptitive suckfest, and I'd amend the rating to maybe 4out of 10 at best. My reasons here being: the graphics are nice enough, and the soundtrack is ace, and the story is pretty good - combined with reasonably competent shooting I'd say that makes it at least below average as a game, even if you hate everything else, hence 4/10.
Personally? I say 9/10, but I am hugely, HUGELY biased. I can literally not be objective about this game. The reasons are - theme, mechanics & atomsphere. I love Vietnam era history, I love the empire building and I love the story in this game, as well as the "feel". This game just nails Vietnam era America (at least in a "pop culture" sense). I have given it an 8 because a) I have to give some rating to wwrite a review, an I would rather that it be flagged as a positive, and b) because for me, it is a great game. However my tastes are not necessarily common, hence the caveats above.
As Lincoln Clay, you essentially complete a variety of very samey missions to weaken, and utimately take over, a diverse array of criminal business fronts. However, much of this is winndow dressing (and I say this as someone who loves the game). Why? Simply put, because whether you are helping a boxer being pressured into throwing a fight by dismantiling an illegal gambling front, wiping out a loathsome underground human trafficking operation by a white supremacist organisation, or smashing a PCP ring, everything you do in this game boils down to: Go Here, and either kill this guy, or destroy this thing. at the most fundamental this is literally the entire game. No, seriously. Compared to the likes of GTA or Saints Row, you can forget entertaining and wacky sideline stuff. There is no parachuting out of planes, taxi jobs, taking photos (outside of the share/snapshot feature on PS4) etc.
Let me be clear, the entirety of this game is basically all about a very angry, revenge obsessed man, doing much the same thing over and over again until he has the financial muscle and support to take out the people he wishes to destroy. Your enjoyment of the game is based on same, and how much you enjoy the empire building aspect of the game.
The story is great, Hangar 13 have absolutely nailed the setting and atmosphere and the soundtrack is sublime. I think that the majority of people, however, wll get bored long before theey finish this game, and I am not sure the above good points are enough to outweigh the lack of variety and things to do for the majorty of gamers. Certainly, this is not a sanbox game you can boot up and enjoy titting about in and having a chaotic free roam experience a la Gta. The variety just isn't there, In this regard even GTA 3 thru San Andreas are better prospects.
If all this sounds negative, it should. For the record, I LOVE this game. However I recognise that many (most, even?) people won't. In many ways, this game was made for people like me. I can forgo the lack of thngs to actually do, and the repetitive, ultimately boring mission structure. I can even overlook the fact that 3 hours or so into the game, you have seen pretty much all it has to offer, because I personally dig the taking and slowly building up my criminal fronts.
Running out of space so summary time
    BAD STUFF:
    Repetitive
    Glitchy
Niche (if the setting does nothing for you, disregard this game right now)
Narrow - There are basically 3 things to do in the entire game - Story missions, Loyalty/Busywork Missions where you upgrade your fronts (which in themselves are mechanically similar to story missions), and a few races where you can get cash and add ons for your cars.
Redundancy - if you like GTA and any of the "busywork" stuff mentiond above leaves you cold, then there is literally no reason to own this.

    GOOD:
Setting- 60's era new Orleans-alike drips atmosphere
Story - Well written (imo) and engaging - I cared about the characters to the extent I can overlook failings.
Buy if you love Sacrface, look elsewhere for GTA syle sandbox fun (i.e. GTA V)

Mafie III - A great game... with a lot of problems

I was honestly surprised by how many negative reviews this game got. I understand why, but I personally think that the pros out weigh the cons by a lot.

This game has one of the best settings we have seen in a long time. An open world game set in the 1960s in the south during the civil rights movement. So it's very neat to drive around the beautiful open world. Great licensed soundtracks while driving, in cutscenes, and gameplay. Plus, the game's soundtracks are great as well; giving a classic southern gangster feel as you shootout enemies. The voice actors give a great performance in every cutscene in this game. Very likable characters, whether they are antagonist or protagonist. Now, this part I am very confused with. So many people have criticized the gameplay. The driving feels very good, plus the cars are sweet. The gunplay is really good. It is very graphic and satisfying whenever you shoot up the enemies. The stealth is simple, but solid. The melee attacks are prob the best part. You can run up to an enemy and bash their face in and perform a brutal takedown by shooting them in the mouth, gut or head. The violence is very graphic and even disturbing, but that is what makes the gunplay so satisfying.

Now.. this game also has a lot of problems. If I am being biased, I believe that the cons are not too big of a deal. The main flaw with this game that turned everybody off was the repetitive missions. Although it is fun to take the city district by district like a mafia would do, it is very repetitive. Personally this did not bother me much, but it is the main flaw that makes this game from reaching its full potential. Although this is an open world game there are too many glitches. Occasionally the lighting will freak out whenever you enter a building and the mirrors barely even work in this game. Some times it takes a while for the world to load all its details while driving. The AI is not too bad, but it has its moments. Enemies will occasionally see you even if your completely hidden. Police will occasionally get on to you even if you're a mile away from them.

+ Very neat setting, with a beautiful world
    + Fantastic characters and cutscenes
    + Gruesome and satisfying gameplay
+ Classic cars that drive very smoothly
    + Fun boss levels
    + Sweet weapons
+ Fun collectables (more fun if you're a pervert)

+- Graphics are decent for its time
+- AI is not bad, but will break at moments
+- Get great deals from Mafia gangs, but it's not a challenge to earn the deals

    - Repetitive missions, which can potentially lose the appeal to the entire game
    - Too many unacceptable glitches, but at least it's nothing game breaking though
    - Game has no real challenge, has almost the same level of difficulty throughout
    - No fast traveling, which can occasionally be a pain

This game can be very enjoyable for the right person. If you enjoy very mature stories with unique settings, this game is for you. If you don't mind repetitive missions because you're a fan of uncomplicated violent gameplay, this game is for you. Basically saying that if you wished that Quentin Tarantino made video games.. this game is for you. If looking for a game like GTA.. then never get this game. If you can stand it when games are repetitive, then do not get this game.

This is not a great game, but it can be very enjoyable if played by the right person.

The other element that I felt very strongly about was the fact that all Mafia games gave law enforcement a real brain! You hit a car they chase you ! You drive in the oncoming lane they chase you! Speeding ? the same ! The best was the fact you could get away with a fine not a car chase systematically !
This feature disappearing took away one of the only specifities of the series and it's a real shame ! Bring it back !

    Driving was not exceptional otherwise.

Visually it's very unbalanced sometimes great especially at dawn sometimes just bad with too much flare.

Its stealth is too repetitive, its gunfights too familiar, and its driving too boring to support anything else that’s going on. Despite how clever it manages to be in portraying the conquest and control of a criminal enterprise, the nuts-and-bolts missions feel like busywork, and it never fully explores the most interesting aspects of its setting. It’s better than Mafia II, but that’s damning it with faint praise.

This is a game whose best moments are diluted by a torrent of filler, whose beauty is obscured by its technical shortcomings, and whose obvious potential is squandered by a lack of polish. That weird orange sky is, alas, the least of its problems. [Christmas 2016, p.110]

It could have been a really great sandbox for one evening. It’s a shame the developers decided to extend it by over a dozen completely redundant hours, because they had fresh ideas for around one fifth of the campaign and made the rest of the game repetitive as hell. [12/2016, p.48]
