    I haven't bought a Madden in years. Madden 21 is just as bad as the last Madden I played. They've even removed features. Franchise mode is some how worst. The user interface even lags. Never buying Madden ever again.

    worst game i ever play. Even Ultimate Team has atrociously laggy menus that make it completely unbearable to endure. Many gameplay and AI flaws from previous titles have continued into this one as well. You can only get so much fun from such broken gameplay. Please do not give EA $60 or more for this piss poor effort. Ea just give the same crap every year on every sports game they made ,worst game i ever play.     For football fans and video gamers this is yet another disappointing Madden release. I remember waiting up until midnight to get the new editions when I was young. Now you can't tell the difference between games year to year. This year takes the cake though.     I’m surprised EA hasn’t made playing as your favorite team a micro-transaction yet. Imagine spending 60+ dollars on this “game” only to find out it’s still the same doo doo on a stick it’s been for years, but somehow even worse than that. Then picture spending even more money on micro-transactions on it that’s rendered completely useless in less than a year. Couldn’t be me.

    People say this game is the same game every year with minor graphic changes and roster changes (which is true), but the GAMEPLAY HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE for at least the past 5 editions. You have no control over players... takes a runningback several steps to make a simple cut. So stiff.

    For all those of you complaining about the abundance of bad reviews and how it’s still “a good game”, the 0.3 user rating on Metacritic doesn’t just reflect the garbage product displayed (and the fact that I already own the game in the form of Madden 20), but also the ineptitude among Electronic Arts for more than a decade now. Hope this is a wake up call for EA but it won’t be. I tried out face of the franchise which I thought was cool until I couldn’t change the difficulty and every single game was on rookie until I was drafted... so if I’m throwing 10 TDs a game why would I get benched in college?     Looks like another "Copy & Paste" this is completely unacceptable. Yesterday my cousin popped in Madden 18 and I played it with him and serioualy thought we was playing my Madden 20. We weren't! This doesn't look any different. Horrible. Im done with this game for good.

I’ve actually gone back to playing ‘20 and downloaded the updated roster because of how frustrating it is to play this game. The suction tackling is worse, the frame rate drops at the worst moments(during a kick). The DBs are over powered. The crazier thing is I would pay double the dollars for a product from 2k for a football simulation game with NFL building on what was possible in 2k5 I can imagine what’s possible in 2020. It’s a reason why in the sport of basketball games 2k has demolished the likes of NBA, they actually seem to care. I’m never buying another madden again. Madden isn’t better simply because with the exclusive rights they don’t have to be. Short term it may be good for EA but long term what they don’t understand is that consumers don’t forget.… Expand

Madden NFL 21 makes the top 10 worst games of all time, look like a gold mine. Congratulations for being worse than BIG RIGS and WORSE than LJN games. That is quite an accomplishment. Madden has taken a fall from glory ever since it’s change to the Frostbite engine, an engine used for 1st person shooters mostly, so it is very animation based. You usually always see the same animations over and over in a first person shooter, but that doesn’t matter that’s not the focus of the gameplay. But in Madden you are seeing animations that have been constantly in the game since Madden 13. Everything feels scripted, nothing feels smooth. Every cut, juke, spin move you make feels pre determined and it us just not fun to look at or play. Tackling is still another huge problem. Same animations over and over along with the same catching animations as well. Players are constantly clipping into one another. There has been no new changes to Franchise mode, the mode that used to be the glory of Madden. It has been the same for the last 3 years. You can still see banners in the game for Madden 20 and Madden 19... Garbage game, do not buy. #MaddendropEA… Expand

    People *mostly* rightfully complain about the lack of franchise mode and depth, but thats ok if there is really good gameplay... There isn't. The gameplay is super repetitive and you can see the same animations 8+ times per game, and they are the same animations from past Maddens, making it more repetitive. Your players will catch, get tackled, hurdle, get their ankles shattered, interceptPeople *mostly* rightfully complain about the lack of franchise mode and depth, but thats ok if there is really good gameplay... There isn't. The gameplay is super repetitive and you can see the same animations 8+ times per game, and they are the same animations from past Maddens, making it more repetitive. Your players will catch, get tackled, hurdle, get their ankles shattered, intercept passes, tightrope the sidelines, toe tap the sidelines, fall over, look like n64 characters on the sidelines, get stiff armed, block/block shed, and to be honest, do everything in the same exact way multiple times per game. The animations are not even close to real football, which would be ok if it was an arcade football game... It isn't. The animation based gameplay would be ok if there were many animations for certain player positions and scenarios... Not only "there aren't" but it would be super unrealistic to take the time to make all those animations. Which makes you wonder... why they decided to make the game with the Frostbite engine, with animation dependent gameplay in the first place. Another problem with the gameplay is that with it being animation based, there is no player "stick skill" or anything along those lines, because the entire game revolves around hoping you get the right animation. Jump balls are just saying "Wow I hope that corner grows 2 left feet and gets a bad animation" instead of something along the lines of "Wow I hope my 99 overall player has better hands than this 9th string JV corner". I shouldn't have to hope on animations when stick skill is a selling point. Players standing still can shake of a hit stick from a linebacker sprinting full tilt at them. The pass trajectory is awful, every pass is just a glorified bullet pass, I’m not sure why making the ball travel in a parabola is difficult, but (believe it or not) I don't design video games so I don't know. Linebackers no longer have a 9' 13" vertical when intercepting passes, which is a good change, but an unnecessary change if the pass trajectory had more of an arc instead of a laser. This poor gameplay would be ok if the depth of franchise and other modes made up for it... They don't (I’m starting to notice a trend here) EA has many ways to fix their game and either won't/can't for whatever reason, which would be ok if they told us the reason... THEY DON'T! This is just a monopoly, thats it. This monopoly would be ok if Madden was an ok game... It isn't. Its just a bad product, there is no way around that. That would be ok if Madden was a bad product if there were other potentially better simulation NFL football games on the market... (You guessed it) There aren't because of the exclusive rights. The exclusive rights also makes this NFL fans only option, and thats not ok. The yard is cool I guess, but its monetized for no reason, Face of the Franchise isn't interesting and is dull. The two positives this game has is that its the only NFL game, and that The Yard is "cool i guess". Now I’m going to go buy All Pro Football 2K8 for $5 instead of this $60 "product". I played this game for around 7-8 hours and played ESPN NFL 2K5 immediately after. I can say with 100% certainty that NFL 2K5, a game that came out 15 years ago, provides a more realistic, bug-free, & enjoyable experience. Speaking of glitches and mistakes, the player showcase loading screens are full of typos, bad photo-editing, and straight-up false information. If you want to get a realistic and fun football game, ESPN NFL 2K5, All-Pro Football 2K8, or NCAA Football 14 are all far better products than Madden has been since 2010.… Expand

Squads could be a really fun mode, but there is de-sync after de-sync. You can not call any plays that aren't Play action or Single back because then the HC becomes the QB randomly.     This is a primary example of the benefits of competition - if 2K had the licence to make an NFL game then this wouldn't have happened. It's a real shame, loyal customer for over 10 years and although each of the last few years have been disappointing, I still held out hope. This is the last straw - I won't be buying another Madden unless they show some kind of commitment to rewarding their customers.

    Was Playing Madden 21 and found a Madden 20 Logo. How lazy can EA be? I’ve been buying Madden so nice Madden 92 so I know there are ups and downs. This game is basically Madden 20 and 19.

    Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.
