    I have been playing this game for my entire life and unfortunately I can honestly say that I have been playing the exact same buggy, glitchy, and non functional game for my entire life. I got an interception while playing and instead of the game giving my a 1st and 10 (like in regular football), I was put in a situation where it was 2nd and -4 (yes, negative four).     Solid game, feels new in the game play. UI may be the same but it just feels better to play. The yard is an awesome addition. Just remember that they are probably working on the PS5 versions to be great and that's why most of the UI and game are generally the same.

Whatever 5 year old you hired to edit New jerseys onto players needs to be fired and the game actually needs to see improvement.     Literally the worst NFL game ever made. I could’ve stuck with Madden ‘10 and enjoyed it 5 times as much as this heaping pile of trash. Steer clear of this mess. Don’t waste your money. Matter of fact, if you get the inclination to buy it, just send me the money... you’d still get nothing, at least you’ll get the “sense of pride and accomplishment” for helping me pay my bills.

In some cinematic scenes, my player would appear with different cleats in both of his feet. The “Face of the Franchise” mode itself is kinda boring with a poor built story. Instead it’s exactly the same. The relocation teams have actually been the same for the last 5 Maddens and that’s something literally everyone complains about but EA just doesn’t care. They added nothing new to the drafts or the off-season process. they didn’t fix trading and free agency. The career mode still doesn’t compare at all to 2k’s and is extremely boring and easy. The Franchise mode overall is still way worse than NCAA 14’s, that was released 7 years before this game. There are a few new animations but still none of them actually feel natural. They add 3 new tackle animations every year and after two weeks of playing you basically know what it’s going to look like when your guy gets tackled. Same thing for catches, broken tackles, sacks, jukes, stiff arms, hit sticks, etc.The game has boiled down to being able to control way less than you’re actually just watching when you play Madden. And it’s because it’s all built on the frostbite engine which is specifically made to produce first person shooters and not football games. however because it’s cheaper than designing your own engine, EA uses Frostbite. NFL 2K5 and All Pro Football 2K8 designed engines specifically for simulation football games and they both look and feel way better/smoother. I was initially excited for the yard because I thought EA was finally going to replicate NBA 2K’s extremely popular Park mode. Instead it’s another arcade mini game very similar to the superstar mode. You can fully upgrade your character in a week and then at that point you catch every ball with one hand no matter how covered you are. The only reason I even gave them 1/10 is because i’m grateful they’ve finally made a game so bad that the NFL is going to have to drop EA and we’ll finally get what we want, a real simulation football game that doesn’t spend all their effort on finding ways to add micro transactions.… Expand

In my honest opinion I think the mut squads online head to head is as bad as madden 1, actually it’s a lot worse. The amount of tine and incorporation it took to make this piece of dog **** compares to the amount of tine it takes me to drop a deuce in the toilet. Even the yard their “all new” mode literally looks like it was made by like 4 people who had to do a school project and had to pull an all nighter and even that would look better than this. My final thoughts is that whoever wants to play a football game just wait for 2k’s version because this is not worth anyone’s time and money I say this as a consumer since I played this game a lot even before it’s preorder launch with the 10 hour trial. And for those who did buy this game like me then may god have mercy on your soul! BTW I marked it as a spoiler alert since this game will spoil any happiness you have period!

Madden should just go the direction of NFL Blitz and make a true arcade game... Leave making simulation football to someone else

    Don’t expect anything new from this game. Obviously 90% of every sports game is a reskin, but this isn’t a reskin. They made the game worse. This isn’t simulation football. This is NBA Live 14 in football form. If EA is still making football games at this quality in 5 years, NFL games will be dead.

    The simulation football modes are the exact same and hasn't been touched. In other words, the 60 dollars you paid for the offline experience is no different than Madden 20, 19, 18 and 17. Franchise hasn't been touched in almost a decade. Madden is now an arcade game built upon micro transactions.

    I play franchise 98% with the occasional online game... this game is no different than madden 16. A few minor tweaks to the gameplay that’s about it. Same menu, same intro, same layout in franchise, same interactions. Just over it

    got the 100$ version for my little brothers birthday just to realize it’s madden 20 in a madden 21 case. same graphics, legit nothing changed. very sad and bummed out

    Well at least I still have NFL 2k5, Madden 04&06 and NCAA 06 & 14 to get my football fix. Wish I. 2020 I wouldn't have to go back a 15 years for decent NFL game and 7 years for football in general

    I want to move a player to the right... he plants, backs up, spins and then runs left instead. I keep buying it every year and every year I get more disappointed.

    I’ve lost count on the amount of years that Franchise mode has virtually gone untouched. Absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention, Face of the Franchise’s storyline is corny as hell and so obviously thrown together at the last minute. EA does not care about putting together a quality product and hasn’t for years.

    It is almost the same exact game as madden 20. The only difference I see is that stretch run plays only get you a 20+ yard run about 33% of the time instead of 80% of the time. Nobody asked for more arcade modes. The only reason they added them is to point users to their new store.

    I deleted the game after only playing for an hour. The game runs horribly on the PS4 Pro with constant frame dips. This is surprising since Madden 20 ran at a stable 60fps despite looking practically the same graphics wise. I’ve encountered a bunch of game breaking bugs and glitches which shows to me that they didn’t put care or effort into this game. It was just a cash grab for their MUTI deleted the game after only playing for an hour. The game runs horribly on the PS4 Pro with constant frame dips. This year they set a whole new benchmark for how truly unprofessional and lackadaisical EA is. Do not waste your money I beg you, it will only encourage more of this dastardly behavior.     This one is personal. Maddens been the same game since 2015 and I have mostly disliked them even though football is my favorite sport. I’ve had problems with the series but not as much to wear I never buy any of them. But since I watched a video on madden 08 and seven I am pissed off at what a cash grab this series of became .     This is the laziest iteration of Madden they have ever done. Please give this up and let a company that truly loves football take over. I miss playing innovative and refreshing football games. I miss playing fun football games.

    Literally no change yet they still say “ Innovative Gameplay” I don't understand why NFL hasn't dropped electronic arts yet. There are so many video gam developers that would make great football games.

    I know I’m in a very small minority but due to where I live, I can only game offline. 4 of the 6 modes in this game require internet to even access. You can do the story mode for some reason. Also the new “The Yard” mode is online only so you can’t even mess around and make a uniform or do couch co op.     I was really hoping for something new. But aside from remaining the same it also feels like it's regressing. I feel bombarded with all the additional payments, I just want to play a good football game.

    It’s another step backwards, Madden has been downhill ever since they got an exclusive license. 2k5 is still the best football game ever. I work at a game store and we can barely give this game away.

    If you love Franchise Mode you are better off porting a roster for Madden 20 and playing that this cycle. Not a single new feature this year. The jokes are always, “it’s the same game every year nothing changes.” Well, this year Madden 21 is literally a copy and paste job. The paper is still warm from the photocopier.

    I pre ordered madden 21 and was incredibly disappointed. I don’t know if this is because the my had setbacks due to COVID, but the game is not fun. The only part of the game even remotely fun is the yard. It feels like a copy and paste of madden 20 with some very very small improvements. However the game seems rushed, and looks like it was made lazily. The lack of work on franchise is alsoI pre ordered madden 21 and was incredibly disappointed.     Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.

    For NFL diehards, there remains hundreds of gaming hours at your disposal in Madden 21. These same diehards – much like players of EA’s NHL and Sony’s The Show – will be left with the impression they’ve played this game before, however.
