I am only in Act 2 while writing this review, but I think i have a good idea of what this game has to offer.

Combat: leveling up is quite rewarding, it gives you opportunities to fight your enemies with different weapons and moves. This means you get the choice to face your enemies or sneak up to them. Until now, I enjoy every confrontation I have had. Story: nothing revolutionary.

Story: nothing revolutionary. It is a nice story about honor, which you can expect from a samurai story. Dividing it up into different acts makes it interesting as you seem to work towards an achievable goal.

Open world: the world in GoT is beautiful, some parts are breathtaking. The only negative is that there aren't much recognizable parts like in other open world games. It does create some spectacular settings though, especially for special combat scenes that are very cinematic.

Overall, this is a very enjoyable game that lets you fight interesting battles in a beautiful feudal Japanese setting. Well worth the purchase.

The first one is how meaningless every choice you do in the game is, the game seems like is going somewhere with the dialogue that it gives you and you expect it to have some weight in the overall story but i doesnt, making it totally pointless .
The second one is how repetitive the game is. Have u played any recent open world game like horizon zero dawn or far cry games ? Well this is the same, free outpost climb this kill this this guys etc , this is nothing new and there very little freedom in regards to missions structure you either go in guns blazing or you sneaky beaky like , this could be fun if not for the dumb AI and the very limited abilities you have to do so. Even the hook seems totally pointless and underused it's only used for climbing when it had potential to be used has a weapon scorpion any one ?
And last for not least why is the game dubbed in Japanese it should be its original language its just weird when u see Japanese people not speaking Japanese.
Now that the bad things are out of the way let's talk about the good things, I don't cry easily in games but this one made do it 3 times its not a happy story but it sure is a good one.
The combat in the game is phenomenal i just wish it had a bit more of limb cutting cause some of the blows the main character does seems like it would cut a man in half but all u see on the enemy is some blood stains and every so often u see him chopping heads and arms i just wish these happens more frequently because they were really satisfying.
The sound OMFG THE SOUND, from the wind blowing and dragging the leafs scraping them floor to the sound your Katana does wen putting it back in the sheath it really sounds phenomenal and the music feats the game aesthetic and the aesthetic of this game is beautiful.

It really is a fantastic game. Graphics, gameplay, story! Its all incredible. Sometimes feels a little repetitive and the story is a tiny bit predictable but overall I would easily say one of the better single player campaigns to come out in a while.

Very beautiful, lots of fun, but repetative. Every mission basically boils down to "go here, kill everyone". And the random fights you get into are like random battles in an RPG.

Luckily the combat is pretty good, and the game is fun to play.

Expand

Ещё там можно смахнуть кровь с катаны и убрать в ножны. У неё есть свои минусы. Но я их не замечаю. Спасибо за игру!Наиграл только 4 часа. Но уже рад тому, что сделал предзаказ. I gave it an 8 for two reasons; The first being that the character models during any interaction are often very lifeless. I would've liked a little more emotional/reactive facial expressions from the characters, especially the main protagonist; and two, a large number of the side quests are just.. go here and kill X. All of that aside though, which I am completely able to look past, I really loved it and looked forward to finishing all the collecting and exploration. Expand

Visually stunning with a great soundtrack. The AI are kind of retarded and stealth doesn't work the way it's supposed to. The combat gets repetetive quickly and the story drags a little by the end. Not very difficult overall even on the hardest setting so casual gamers can enjoy it to it's fullest. It's a solid game though for some light entertainment. 8/10

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. You'll see this adjective a lot when reading the reviews: Beautiful. This game takes full advantage of high-def screens to provide you with a vibrant backdrop as you explore feudal Tsushima, an island between the Southeast Asian coast and mainland Japan. The Mongols have invaded and annihilated all but a handful of its samurai. You are Jin Sakai, a high-born noble who survives the onslaught thanks to a thief named Yuna. You begin on a quest to save your liege lord (and uncle) from the Mongols, but you must often turn from the samurai code of honor in order to effectively deal with the horde that has overrun your home.

The game play is fluid. There is a bit of a learning curve with the combat, but once you learn all of the stances and how to best utilize your resolve, it becomes almost a joy (played on normal difficulty). There are some issues in a super-tight melee with attacking in a different direction than you point with your stick (and sometimes moving around with your back to the target...like how did that even happen...and how do I turn around?), but a practical healing mechanic (take notes, Jedi: Fallen Order) more than offsets that. Respawn and fast-travel times are blessedly quick, and Sucker Punch, as they did with their "Infamous" series (which I really enjoyed), thoroughly make use of the center touchpad.

Taking part in the epic battles that abound in Act II is exhilarating. It feels like a free for all and you never know exactly when the waves of enemies will end. Little tidbits like "End Suffering" for a fallen enemy that's not quite dead is also wonderfully appropriate.

Some of the collectables are a neat addition (I really enjoyed the bamboo strikes and the haiku compositions), but there were far too many Inari shrines (fox dens). The charm system is a neat power-up idea, but it needed to be a bit more manageable. You get a LOT of charms throughout the game, some of which do the same thing. The Shinto Shrine climbs were also kind of meh. On a related note, the rope swing physics are a bit unnatural, but at least they're consistent and you get the "hang" of when to actually release.

The story, unfortunately, is tropey and largely predictable, which made it a little grindy for me, particularly after Act I (there are 3 acts). The side quests, especially those featuring the supporting characters (Masako, Ishikawa, Norio, Yuna, and Kenji) were more compelling than the main throughline. The rest of this paragraph contains spoilers...I mean, sort of. Can we stop with the "man has no friends" device entering the third act? Or at least end the "must reluctantly fight my father figure at the end?" At least Ryuzo wasn't Jin's brother... ffs. Khotun Khan was easily the most interesting character.

This game, though, truly shines in its art direction. I've already covered the vivid color palette The kabuki-esque intros to the Mythic Tales with ink and shadow were master strokes. A lot of praise has been heaped "Kurasawa Mode," which is neat to try during a duel and/or a couple of missions, but the black-and-white schema also applies to incoming attacks, whether they're unblockable (red) or parryable (blue). That's kind of a useful thing to know.

The voice acting is hit and miss on the English side. My first playthrough, I did Japanese audio with English subtitles and enjoyed it far more than my all-English New Game + playthrough.

Overall, Ghost of Tsushima is a worthy farewell to Sony's PS4 exclusives. For those on the fence about it, either ask for it for Christmas or wait until it hits the $19.99 rack. That should push you over.

This game was made by a team that seemed dedicated to providing those who played it with a remarkably smooth, seamless and overall engaging experience. And while it is not a perfect masterpiece by any means, so much of it works perfectly even as the game apes tired tropes from similar games.

Ghost of Tsushima's story is consistently engaging, hard-hitting and nuanced. Without spoiling the game, the most that can be said about it is that it is both memorable and filled with tried, tested and true standards for storytelling - this does not lead it to be filled with cliché story beats, however. In the most praiseworthy way possible, it avoids many tired, overdone tropes without being avant-garde, making it a gripping and powerful tale that does the rest of the game's quality justice.

While the story is fantastic on its own, the game's mechanical stability (its remarkably short load times are particularly impressive), its open world, its fine-tuned, hair-raising combat and its sense of progression are all strengths that this game puts on display at every turn. The allure of some new means of increasing Jin Sakai's strength or adding to his vast array of costume choices draws players to exploring the island of Tsushima - while that kind of bait is interesting enough on its own, the astonishingly beautiful environments beg to be explored in and of themselves.

For all the praise this game has rightfully earned, however, Ghost of Tsushima suffers from what could be called "Naughty Dog Syndrome." The Uncharted-style cliff-climbing occasionally found in this game is so rote and by-the-numbers that it is painful. In a game that thrives upon allowing players to explore feudal Japan as a skilled samurai, this highly restrictive and forced approach to exploration feels like a slap in the face, especially when considering the impact Breath of the Wild recently had on open-world exploration.

A final (minor) nitpick about Ghost of Tsushima worth mentioning is that the game's replay value feels limited. Once Tsushima has been fully explored and the game has been beaten, the only remaining thing that might be worth would be to slay roaming bands of enemies that linger after completion of the main campaign. And despite the game's remarkable combat system, fighting enemies alone (without the felt sense of progression that is accrued via filling out the skill tree) cannot prevent this game from feeling either short or lacking. Having said that, the 40-or-so hours you might derive from Ghost of Tsushima will be thoroughly enjoyable - so little of this game felt like a drag, which, again, speaks to its remarkable quality - a testament to the effort put in by its developers.

Despite the most recent criticisms I have levelled against Ghost of Tsushima, this game is remarkable. It is readily accessible, reasonably challenging without being off-putting, entirely compelling and fascinatingly engaging. Any slight against it is easily countered by a bevy of standout positive qualities, and it is an easy recommendation to just about anyone who enjoys playing video games. It may not have the lasting appeal of some other open-world games (i.e. Skyrim), but it will grip you tightly and unrelentingly all throughout its main campaign, and perhaps even a little longer.

Ghost of Tsushima is a flawed, but fun, game. While the gameplay itself was solid, and the story was decent, I definitely expected a lot more from Sony’s final PlayStation 4 exclusive. It had enough to keep me hooked, but lacked the polish we’ve all grown to love from a Sony first party game.

Ultimately, it feels like the game could have benefited from a smaller scope or a more linear structure. Focus on the duels could have created a more engrossing product, especially if it honed in on the narrative for a more concise and cinematic experience. But as it stands, Ghost of Tsushima is another AAA open world title and doesn’t seek to define itself as anything other than that.
