    This is how you do a remake, stay very faithful to the original whilst improving upon everything; and adding some new stuff that expands upon the original content. Amazing game, with characters and story that hit harder than the original. Also the combat system is simple, fun and engaging with a lot of tactics still at play.

Over all a good game would be a 7 out of 10 but have to drop it down to a 6 because of the combat getting boring after a while,chapter 18 being too long,some of the characters and for all the implied rape stuff and the writing really falls off a bit in the last few chapters.
    Story: Honestly aside from a few dumb moments with characters like Cloud not doing things that they really should be aka killing certain characters and pretty much everything that happens in wall market and the end of the game and with all the rape related plot stuff the story was actually pretty good but the writing in the last three chapters really ruin the game. And don't get me started on all the times they don't kill the villains. But for real how did this get rated T with all the rape plots going on.
    Game length: Tho its a somewhat long game 20+ hours, if you're able to play for multiple hours at a time then the game kinda flies by and doesn't feel as long as it actually is barring the last few chapters that feel like they go on for ever due to poor writing, combat getting dull and all the cut scenes interrupting the combat/boss fights all the time.
    Combat: Combat stays the same with almost zero changes the whole game and tho it starts off fine/some what fun at around the 18 hour mark i was getting bored of it and it doesn't help that chapter 18 around the 20 hour mark drags on for too long with it being pretty much just boring combat.
    Cloud: Cloud is too much of a pussi even Aerith is more willing to kill the people i want to kill, i mean he was willing to kill that guy earlier in the game to keep him from talking but stops Aerith from killing the people who should die, so dumb, he's very inconsistent when it comes to killing people flip flopping threw out the whole game from being willing to kill and not wanting or letting others kill very dumb and it makes him a little unlike able.
    Biggs: Honestly went into this thinking i was gonna dislike him as i then not to like male characters but shockingly hes the only character i didn't dislike anything about, not saying he's the only character i like or hes the best character (3rd best) it's just that every other character has something i don't like about them tho mostly just tiny things.
    Jessie: Easily best girl and tho for other characters there "cute" moments don't really work for me and then to be a little annoying Jessie's "cute" moments did work for me and shes easily the 2nd best character in the game.
    Tifa: Over all shes fine but her "cute" moments didn't work for me i think its mainly due to her face seeming a bit off to me same goes for all the kid characters there faces just don't seem right not really sure why.
    Aerith: Over all i did like her, her "cute" moments for the most part worked for me and i liked that she wanted to kill the people i wanted to kill even tho Cloud wouldn't let us for some F-ing reason but there are parts where her writing isn't great.
    Barret: Honestly he's super annoying there was like one thing he said in the whole game i actually liked but over all i didn't like him he does get less annoying as the game goes on.
    Johnny: Honest kinda liked him he's pretty much the best part of the wall market bit of the game aside from Aerith.
    Wedge: Like with Biggs and Johnny i shockingly liked Wedge but one thing i didn't like about him was how the game kept trying to use him as a joke if it wasn't for that i would have liked him as much as i did Biggs.
    Red Xiii: Honestly shocked i liked this character so much he's easily the best character in the game with the only thing i didn't like about him being the forced drama with Barret thankfully that drama goes away pretty quick but would've been better if it wasn't there at all.
    Villains: Only gonna talk about a few as many of them are easily forgotten 1 The bike guy whatever his name was was too much like the Joker with Cloud being his Batman and i wasn't a fan of that 2 Hojo poorly set up like pretty much all the villains tho is the 2nd best written villain in the game tho the gameplay for that bit of the game does drag on a bit and on top of that i really didn't like him mainly due to the implied raping of Aerith 3 Heidegger is the only villain i actually liked because hes a good bad guy whose actually well set up and well written unlike someone like Reno who isn't really set up, poorly written and over all just sucks 4 Don Corneo is a good bad guy whose well set up debatablely well written and easy to hate and want to kill with the implied rape 6 Rude and Reeves both come across as somewhat good people mainly Reeves so i'm not too sure how i feel about them since there some what like able 7 Leslie Really didn't like this guy even tho the game tries to change your mind on him by having him help you and by implying the rape of his fiancee by Don but that doesn't change my feelings for him and i still want to kill him as much as i do Don all it does is make me feel bad for his girl and thats all    … Expand

    Ridiculous, bland and mediocre game. The original will always be better.This is one of the most boring games of all.Graphical quality doesn't mean the game will be any real good. The classic games are authentic and don't follow a pattern.

    FF7R has the best gameplay combination of action rpg and ATB so far. World building is done incredibly, intriguing both veteran players and first timers. Graphics are a delight, we couldn’t expect more for a late ps4 game. Can’t wait for FFVII Rebirth.

    He de decir que yo no he jugado al Final Fantasy VII original, pero el juego me ha encantado y ha hecho que me entren ganas de jugar al original, que lo haré. Me ha parecido un juego perfecto en el apartado técnico, con 30 fps constantes pero con una calidad gráfica realmente alucinante, teniendo en cuenta que es de PS4. En el apartado artístico me parece que no han podido recrear mejorHe de decir que yo no he jugado al Final Fantasy VII original, pero el juego me ha encantado y ha hecho que me entren ganas de jugar al original, que lo haré. Me ha parecido un juego perfecto en el apartado técnico, con 30 fps constantes pero con una calidad gráfica realmente alucinante, teniendo en cuenta que es de PS4. En el apartado artístico me parece que no han podido recrear mejor Midgar, claramente superior en el remake con respecto al original. Los diálogos, la traducción son muy buenos y los efectos especiales y las cinemáticas me han dejado alucinado. La jugabilidad es extremadamente divertida e interesante, mezclando el estilo de juego por turnos con el "hack and slash", si se puede llamar así. Esto hace que los combates sean amenos y no se hagan aburridos. La única pega es que algunos bosses tienen demasiada vida, lo que va a provocar que nos demoremos un buen rato para derrotarlo. Yo no conocía la historia de este juego y la verdad que me ha enganchado mucho, tanto la trama como la evolución de los personajes. El problema es que los que no hemos jugado al original nos costará entender algunas partes. Aun así la complejidad de la historia y el lore del mundo me han encantado. Como pegas, las físicas de algunos objetos del escenario, algunas misiones secundarias que son aburridísimas e innecesarias y el diseño "pasillero" de muchos de los lugares, que se basan en una línea recta y no hacen justicia al juego. A parte, se nota que en ciertos capítulos han querido alargar mucho el juego y quizá hubiera estado mejor que se ahorrasen algunas partes de puzles y batallas un tanto repetitivas. Cabe destacar que la música es probablemente una de las mejores que hay en los videojuegos, con temas míticos que pasarán a la historia. Estoy deseando que salga la segunda parte de este remake para continuar con la historia de este juegazo. 9,1/10

If I wanted to play kingdom hearts, i'll go and play kingdom hearts, I wanted to play Final Fantasy VII with modern graphics and that's really not what this is.… Expand

    The gameplay was a little strange to me since I am not used to JRPGs. Even still, since I wanted to advance into the plot so hard, I forced myself to keep going on and eventually understood it.

    There are some negative points, like textures in some scenarios, some sections longer than they should be, and more. But since my final experience with it was so good, those points are unimportant. I super recommend it.    … Expand

    Pure magic is how I would describe this game. As a huge fan of the Og Ff7 I had a fantastic time with this. Its a shot right to my heart. My only regret is the wait time for Rebirth.

It's like when the developers were creating the amount of health each boss had, they just hit the pushed the number 9 until the data overloaded the CPU.

    Finally, the thing that really turned me off from the game was having to constantly swap between characters in real time combat. This was such a tedious process. After my 1st playthrough I thought I did something wrong because I was not enjoying the game despite everyone telling me it is a masterpiece. After my 2nd playthrough I realized I just don't like this game all that much.

    The story isn't even all the impressive either. It is basically one of those 'big evil cooperation wants to take over the world' trope. There is nothing special about it. This game does nothing spectacular and everything this game has to offer is mediocre at best.    … Expand

    An incomplete game with a combact system that is a braindead button smashing, the linear exploration is poor, the characters development are completely stereotyped, and the whole plot feels like a pudding and boring filler of the original game.
    Overall a game that doesn't have nothing of    Final Fantasy VII Remake is bad action jrpg and the worst possible kind of "remake" ever made.

    Muy buen remake en general, gráficos impresionantes aunque algunas texturas por ahi no cargaban, el gameplay es brutal me encantó el combate y el menú con el apartado de materias esta muy bien hecho, la música es increíble hay unos temas que tocan un poco y lo hacen bien y hay otros que modernizan que la verdad no fui fan, ahora lo mas importante: la historia, lo que imitan/adaptan mas loMuy buen remake en general, gráficos impresionantes aunque algunas texturas por ahi no cargaban, el gameplay es brutal me encantó el combate y el menú con el apartado de materias esta muy bien hecho, la música es increíble hay unos temas que tocan un poco y lo hacen bien y hay otros que modernizan que la verdad no fui fan, ahora lo mas importante: la historia, lo que imitan/adaptan mas lo nuevo que añaden es brutal pero lo nuevo que crearon no fui muy fan, no me encantó el final pero puede abrir puertas a una segunda parte increíble donde cambien todo para bien o para mal, solo toca esperar.… Expand

I was expecting a literal 1:1 scene remake the entire way through. The story is there, now us Millennials who enjoyed this game while young, we wanted a good remake of this story. I recently got the PS5, played Elden Ring while waiting for this game. Elden Ring was just mind blowing and PHENOMENAL! I was gobsmacked with the great graphics and great LoTR style story. Ecstatic to get FF7 Remake, playing it, realizing it's some episodic style of gameplay, Wedge is cringy as hell just hearing that voice is painful, the graphics are just OK. I was so disappointed. And NO OPEN WORLD???? Square Enix, the next one better stay faithful to the story and have an open world, or it will be a flop. The top head wigs at Square are so unbelievably out of touch. That being said, I'll still buy the FF7 Remake Part 2. I hope the guys designing this game can TAKE A HINT AND TAKE OUR REVIEWS SERIOUSLY!… Expand

Areas are beautifully crafted but not as dark as the original would’ve suggested. What really drags this game down is the audacity to rip up the foundation of what everyone came to love from the original. The original game deals with heavy terms such as identity and loss(life/death) which are ripped out of the game, everyone survives, nothing matters and apparently Aeris knows way more than she lets on. The game is acting extremely self aware and dont even to attempt to hide its disgust for the original fans by the not so subtle metaphor of the whispers. I dont even want to write about the last part of the game as it was just disrespectful.

    This game feels like someone looked at it and thought they could surpass the original, but all they did was destroying the soul of it, so they could persue their own little fanfic.

    Tl;dr Director turns FF7 into his personal fanfic and kills off the originals soul.
    (Anyone who mentions that this is a sequel should read the title of the game; Remake)

    Но игра появилась в PS Plus Extra и я решил попробовать.
    Делюсь впечатлением. А игра то затянула! Даже без перевода сюжет вполне можно понять, хоть я и не играл в оригинал. В игре какое то адское количество кат-сцен и шикарная анимация, так что понять не трудно. Немного    Не хотел я покупать Final Fantasy VII Remake.     И так сюжет очень хорош, для Final Fantasy конечно. Герои великолепны, особенно женщины. К ним привыкаешь, даже жалко становится в конце. Героини сексуальны, красивы. Порадовал бронеливчик Джесси. Сейчас такого особенно в евро-американских играх не увидишь!
    Игра, в отличии от Final Fantasy 15, абсолютно линейна. Никакого открытого мира нет. Ближе к концу появляется возможность вернуться в те поселения которые уже посещал. Вот и вся свобода перемещения. Но может это даже и хорошо, так же сделали например в Guardians of the Galaxy и игре это только на пользу пошло.
    Продолжительность для линейной игры достаточно большая. У меня ушло часов 25 на прохождение.
    Боевая система смешанная, похожа на таковую в Fallout 3, только от 3го лица. Можно биться самому, а можно набрать очки действия, поставить на паузу и выбрать какой нибудь супер удар, перк или вызвать монстра на подмогу, а можно просто полечиться. Как всегда мы играем за нескольких героев, во время боя можно переключаться между ними.
    Порадовали боссы. Как обычно в японской игре их много и они очень круты.
    Визуально выглядит, ну примерно как Final Fantasy 15, по крайней мере на PS4.
    Что очень радует, в игре есть хорошая атмосфера и если бы был перевод, а лучше озвучка, то Final Fantasy VII Remake вероятно стала бы одной из мох любимых игр. Но увы.
    Теперь о не очень хорошем.
    В игре действительно очень мало свободы, тебе буквально показывают где ты должен пройти, на сантиметр правее и всё, стена. Ещё меня выбесила привычка нашего протагониста ни с того не с сего переходить с бега на очень медленный шаг и ничего с этим сделать нельзя. Особенно меня "порадовал" подъём на 59 этаж небоскрёба по лестнице (из за незнания инглиша не знал, что лифт был ;'-D). И наш герой к концу передвигался уже ползком. 15 минут мы идём и ничего не происходит. Зачем? ХЗ!
    Боёвку конечно подкачали, но все равно как и в Final Fantasy 15 во время битвы иногда вообще не понятно где ты и с кем ты бьёшся.
    И так резюмирую.
    Игра очень понравилась, но как не странно, из за политики разработчиков мог бы её вообще не увидеть если бы не PS Plus. Но оценку всё равно понижу. Нет не самой игре, а Square Enix, которые зажали даже субтитры русские прикрутить. Жлобы.
    На сколько я знаю это вообще только первая часть Final Fantasy VII и скоро выйдет продолжение. К сожалению сейчас на перевод рассчитывать совсем не стоит.    … Expand

FFVIIR doesn't resemble the original in any regard what so ever: It's a new game entirely. Calling this pretty abomination a remake is an insult. F*** you, Squeenix.

    The combat system is great and the direction they are going with the story is pretty neat, but overall was highly disappointed with everything else. Felt like a chore to get through everything. Also didn't like how Linear the game is. I Guess I can't fault it because its all in Midgar, but really cannot wait until it opens up in later installments.

    I don’t even think the graphics are especially good for a PS4 title, with very repetitive NPC models. And the combat is no longer typical JRPG turn-based, but instead a rather vague and sloppy real-time affair with abysmal camera controls.

    I always felt the original was a bit overrated, but I’m stumped as to why this remake got such glowing reviews. Nostalgia is a powerful force, I guess.    … Expand

    I was never really a Final Fantasy fan when I was a kid but I do remember watching one of my favorite YouTubers play Final Fantasy 15 and that it looked cool but I never really thought about it after that. Then a few years later, I picked up a PS4 Pro and after hearing Final Fantasy 16 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth coming up, I decided to pick up this game to see if this game could help meI was never really a Final Fantasy fan when I was a kid but I do remember watching one of my favorite YouTubers play Final Fantasy 15 and that it looked cool but I never really thought about it after that. Then a few years later, I picked up a PS4 Pro and after hearing Final Fantasy 16 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth coming up, I decided to pick up this game to see if this game could help me understand why this franchise is as huge as it is and after about 70 hours to pick up the platinum trophy, I can definitely say this game is great albeit with some few yet MAJOR flaws. The combat is remarkable since it feels like it was trying to appeal to old fans who loved the OG's combat while also trying to convince newcomers to give it a shot and it managed to find the perfect balance so brilliantly I can't get enough of it. The enemy variety is excellent to ensure you're always on your toes, characters are instant 10/10 with all of them being unique and quirky personalities, the story's pacing is better than I thought meaning I was constantly engaged even after 55 hours of the story although the ending does feel strange since it ends on a cliffhanger and it feels like there's supposed to be more here which I suppose does make sense given how there's a whole FF7 trilogy planned and also how massive the original Final Fantasy 7 is, the game looks so visually stunning I'm kinda surprised this could run on a base PS4, there's plenty of mini-games that are admittedly whatever but they are still fun, but easily the main thing I love about this game is without a doubt the soundtrack with it how always captures the correct tone of the situation so well I was always immersed. Now unfortunately, this game has some BIG flaws like how the side quests are pretty much just filler, your character sometimes randomly stops moving even though you never took your thumb off the stick and this is especially annoying when you're trying to reposition and then an enemy gets a cheap shot at you, the AI while not stupid can do some dumb things, there's no photo mode which is straight up questionable given how good this game looks, this one trophy called "Dressed to the Nines" is one of the dumbest trophies I've had the privilege of earning since it requires you to replay 3 long chapters 3 separate times adding an unnecessary 8-10 hours of game-time and I was so exhausted by the end, but easily the biggest flaw here is that it's held back by the PS4 like some of the cutscenes were pre-rendered, load times were kinda long, pop-in was EXTREMELY aggressive, and the low-res textures. These make a MUCH bigger difference than you may think because they put a HUGE damper on your immersion and it's also strange the pop-in and the textures are this bad considering I played this on a PS4 Pro. Overall, even with it's flaws, this game is a game I won't forget anytime soon and I strongly recommend it if you're an RPG fan and even if you're not, I still think you should give it a shot for the story and characters. If you have a PS5, PC, or even a Steam Deck, pick up the Intergrade version for the improvements over this version and if you don't, this is still fine.… Expand

    I've never played the original FF7 so I went into this completely blind. I had a great time playing this game, however, you could easily cut off about 7 hours of filler from it. There's just way too many slow paced walking around sections and the side quests are very dull. The combat is fun af though. Even on normal it was a real challenge.     A great reinterpretation of midgar, is not as good as the original game but is a great one, one of the best remakes I have played. I hope that the next two parts will be better and will equal or surpass the original game´s quality. I would have liked to explore more midgar, but I am so happy with the result.

    Gameplay is really good overall with my one main complaint being the Lock On function feeling finicky and odd and likes to drop at very inopportune    Lots of additional cutscene and dialogue with the game plus re-envisioned areas. Area wise it isn't as large as you might think and sometimes there are some amazing backdrops of detail that you are only in for a very limited amount of time.

    Through the game I feel that the boss fights were really fun until the last segment of the game and then they either required a trick or ended up being long and tiring.     This is the third game I play it's a little different from the last FF game I played which is action-turn-based which I liked. The story, however, is alright because I like final fantasy x story better. Overall the game is fun to play

    Amazing Combat Systems, great character work when the characters work they are great and when they don’t it’s funny. Some classic Japanese game moments like a dance scene or a flying house boss fight. My only problem is that some of the backgrounds look like **** green screens and it was a bit long in some places.

It was never going to be a shot-for-shot remake and while the padding sometimes is a little much I really enjoyed it because it allowed me to spend more time with these characters and really fall in love with this world. Yes the ending was changed but that leads back into the name of the next part, Rebirth, implying that the game won’t stay the same because of the ending. Now that fate isn’t running the show anymore the game is free to change, and I feel that fact makes it worth 60 dollars every couple years, since it’s this long and it’s a new experience. 10/10 can’t wait to play again. also just thinking about some of the scenes in this game literally causes me to cry, or become irrationally happy, so if that helps to sell you on the game, please just buy it. to me, despite the few flaws, its my favorite.… Expand

    Prostredie, postavy, dabing aj soundtrack sú fakt top a súbojový system funguje perfektne (hrám na normal a každý súboj som si fakt užil), preskúmavam každý kút mapy a mám splnené všetky vedľajšie questy (síce nie su jedny z najoriginálnejších ale na druhú stranu nie su ani zlé a dokážu tiež dosť zabaviť)
    Hlavného hrdinu Clouda som si obľúbil už v deme takže som s ním nemal problém a fakt mi sadol
    Ale nechcem sa tu ale moc rozpisovať kvôli spoilerom (a písanie recenzií mi moc nejde) tak to skrátim:

    Na to že je to hra do ktorej som šiel ''naslepo'' tak sa parádne bavím

    Your favorite Final Fantasy blown up to ridiculous proportions by way of Michael Bay and injected with a bunch of fluff and anime treacle. Still a mind-blowing experience for anyone who was a fanboy for the original. I didn't really mind the gofer quests that much and I can't wait to see what they do with the series.

Thanks to the fact this is a remake, the characters and humor from the old game are present here, too. And the soundtrack is still largely made up of the same tracks, and the new additions are brilliant as well.

    However, despite all that, the rot and utter degeneration of this once-great video game developer is blatantly evident.

    For one, their decision to split the game into 3 parts for monetary reasons means the pacing here is utterly atrocious. It shows in the combat, which ends up being marathon tussles with bosses who have an obnoxious amount of HP. But pacing is most detrimental to the story...

    ...And God, how badly has the story been butchered? This has to go down as one of the worst stories ever told in the gaming medium. And considering that FF7 had one of the best opening acts of any video game, this has to be in the running for the worst remake ever, purely as a result of this fact.

    Tetsuya Nomura does not understand ANYTHING about what makes a plot good. The changes in the plot would have been bad enough on their own (since the plot now literally makes no sense), but he had to add in the time traveling ghosts that appear whenever a major story point is changed, to further slow the pacing. To make matters worse, the whole thing seems to be some metanarrative about the fans and other square enix employees who dared to want Nomura to make this remake be a... remake, and not a new story.

    Talk about narcissism.

    But apparently Square Enix's fanboys are swallowing this trash right up. So I guess good graphics and stylish gameplay is all you really need. Who needs a story to make common sense?

So many were excited for this game and were excited to experience FF7 all over again except with a modern version of the game. I myself was excited although there existed a problem I was an Xbox and Nintendo owner I didn't have a PlayStation. So the game came out and I didn't get to play it at launch time passed and in 2021 I finally got my hands on a PlayStation 5 it was time to finally try it. One thing I should mention Final fantasy 7 remake is only part one of the remake there will be 2 more parts released later on. And when I went to play the game it was magical not only was it everything I wanted it to be, not only was it breathtaking, it was everything I ever wanted in a Remake of Final fantasy 7 and even more. The game in my eyes has surpassed the high expectations I had for it. Let's start by talking about the big thing the story. Final fantasy 7 Remake for the most part is the original story but with differences that make the story engaging and fresh even for people that have already played the original game. I really liked the added context for story and the expansion of Midgar it was absolutely phenomenal and it's amazing. Gonna talk spoilers rq towards the end of the game a decent amount of stuff happens that was not at all in the original game. Many out there dislike this and think it completely ruins the story and game. How do I feel about it you ask? I for one love the changes made it makes sense when you remember this is Final fantasy 7 Remade for modern times it never was gonna be 1:1 to the original. The story is the same it's just being told slightly differently and I absolutely love it so far everything that has happened I'm completely on board for it has me theorizing what's next and it has my absolutely excited for the future games and man if part 1 was this good I bet part 2 and 3 will be amazing too. I wanna touch on the topic of characters all of them have received amazing Voice acting and it matches the characters from the original game really well. I'm only gonna talk about 1 character for time's sake I'm gonna talk about my fav character of all time Aerith. In this game Aerith was treated with such respect that it just felt like FF7 Aerith in everyway but better in some ways and I love it. every scene with her made me really happy and to see her be done with Justice it's really touching I love the care that went into preserving what made Aerith great in the original game. As she was then she's adorable and absolutely funny while also being emotionally touching. I love everything they did with her I could go on and on but I'll move on. Let's talk gameplay the original Final fantasy 7 was a turn based RPG. For those in the know you probably noticed my last sentence was false which good eye. Final fantasy 7 the original uses an atb system which basically means enemies can attack you if you are too slow you do you gotta learn to be fast in it. In Remake they went for an action approach and let me just say. This is my favorite combat system in any video game what they have done here makes me really happy. Blocking attacks is important for defense and in a good amount of encounters helps defeat enemies with insane offensive abilities. After landing a lot of hits or waiting you get atb charges which in this game let you cast a magic or use an ability which uses the atb charge and these can help you turn the tide of battles. Materia also is here and let's you customize and make your own builds which adds to replayability and it's just an amazing system. The ability to switch characters at anytime makes it so you can have full control of the battle and just is so fun to perform. There's even more but I'll leave it at that. Music in this game is some of the best music I've ever heard one of my favorite soundtracks of all time easily. If it wasn't apparent from all the praise you just read Final fantasy 7 Remake is one of my favorite games of all time as of writing this I would probably put the original and remake as my 2nd fav of all time it just clicks with me and does things I personally adore in gaming. A Remake of perhaps my most beloved game that really accomplished what I believe it set out to do and I am very exceded to see where Square goes with this. Though it is more of a sequel reboot than a remake, I actually prefer it that way. Myself, and I feel a lot of other people, have wished they could forget about a game so they could experience it for the very first time all over again, and the remake trilogy will be the closest we ff7 fans will get to that operatunity (aside from anyone who might get amnesia). I heard a conspiracy theory before that the entire original game of ff7 was a vision in Aerith’s head; the fact that we see her face in the beginning and at the end could be used as evidence for this, but that seems a little weak. Though the remake seems to indicate that that could be true!
    The only real criticisms I have with this game is that the expanded content wasn’t entirely perfect. The only chapter I felt to have been kind of unnecessary and drawn out was the revisit to the sewers in chapter 14 (it would have actually made a good side quest tho). It also would have been good if there were some side quests on top of the plate where I would like to have spent more time. A lot of the side quests they did have were a little tedious, but a few were a really nice touch and I also think the side content will likely be better in part two, as that game will probably cover more of the story and be able to more easily fit in new stuff due to the new timeline. I also didn't like it when the characters only survived because of fate, but fate is dead now, so that will be fixed in part 2 as well.
    Ultimately, I cannot say I disliked or felt bored during any part of the game. I loved this game and everything else from the music, to the battle system, to the characters, to 95% of the story was perfect. Let's just hope they don't screw it up in part 2, but I've loved what they've done so far so I put my faith in them, for now anyway.    … Expand

    I wish this remake would never end! Although my most favourite entry in the series is Final Fantasy IX, I enjoy Clouds charm a lot. Please Squire remake Final Fantasy IX! I solute to Vivi, Zadine, Stainer. To all lovers of the 7 I commend you on o play 9th. I swear you wold cry just as much at the end if not more!

    Ended up to create an incomplete cinematic game, with a bad gameplay, and a corridor simulator game.

A lot of the dialog feels weird    The original Final Fantasy 7 was the whole reason why I even bought a Sony Playstation to begin with.     So, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, where do I begin..? Well, it's not what I expected. A lot of the dialog feels weird or off. Characters will say things that seem incredibly awkward or misplaced. Barrett seems like they changed him in to a full blown psychopath Greenpeace terrorist. And I get it, Avalanche were basically terrorists at the time, but Barret just seems so over the top it isn't funny.
    Then I remember that this first installment of the game only goes up until the point you actually leave Midgar. The developers said they wanted to tell a bigger, wider story. I don't know if I feel inclined to believe that. The slums in Midgar are just terrible mazes of hallways with little pockets of open spaces, all of the environments in this area all look the same and it gets to the point traveling without the mini map is actually almost impossible.

    Adding to that is the fact there are areas you just can't go to. They are either literally locked off, or the game will simply force you to turn around and tell you to get bent. There's a ton of optional quests that are either fetch quests or combat quests. And they are placed so far apart they have you running to opposite fringes of the slums to complete them. The developers must have realized that their design of the slums were awful, because they added options to automatically go back to a quest giver after you complete your tasks.

    So far none of these quests feel meaningful in any capacity. Go kill some rats, go find my cats, go talk to this NPC. These quests and the characters that are involved with them are almost instantly forgotten by me. This doesn't feel like it's expanding the story or the world in a thoughtful way. This feels like padding tacked on as an excuse not to present the whole story in a single installment.

    I sometimes wonder if it's because Final Fantasy 7 came on so many disks that the developers felt inclined to drag the entire story out or if it was sheer greed motivating them, stretching the series out as far as they could to milk it as long as possible. I feel inclined to believe it's the later. People need to remember Final Fantasy 7 wasn't actually all that long, the extra disks that came with the original game were there mostly to hold all the CGI elements, not the major contents of the game itself.     he combat system is what it is. It feels clunky and oddly paced to me. They included a optional mode called classic mode that makes an attempt at emulating the classic combat feeling of the original game while still using their own combat system, almost as if the developers realized people weren't going to like their new combat system.

    Bottom line is this, the game feels badly paced, a lot of the additional story telling feels forgettable, the dialog is weird and the combat is clunky. After waiting so long for a remake of Final Fantasy, this isn't what I was expecting and it's not really what I wanted.

    I never played the original game but I absolutely adored this remake. The characters for me are some of the best. The chemistry between Aerith, Tifa and Cloud is like none other and along with Barret's quick wit create one of the best experiences i have had with a game. The story is incredible the game play is fun and I cannot wait for part 2.

    i already loved the original game on PC back than (ps graphic was a pain in the *** at this time) and i had to buy the remake of course. wtf. they took a masterpiece and made it even better. you juste dive into this wonderful world and get lost doing all the quests, listen to the dialogs and watching this huge world with these lovely characters unfold in front of you. it makes you forgeti already loved the original game on PC back than (ps graphic was a pain in the *** at this time) and i had to buy the remake of course. wtf. they took a masterpiece and made it even better. you juste dive into this wonderful world and get lost doing all the quests, listen to the dialogs and watching this huge world with these lovely characters unfold in front of you. it makes you forget about time and so it happens that you wont feel how fast 5 hours can pass... Many things that are a little annoying in some other games ( like grinding for lvl up or doing repetitive sh** just to fill your time) are not really present here. i also like the minigames/challenges which are just fun and not too challenging. The only thing i had to get used to, and that is maybe a little bit of a turn off, is the too obvious design of the lvl-perimeter and the missing „jump“ button.… Expand

What I want to say is that there is a lot of content even though it's not the complete FF7 experience.     Final Fantasy VII Remake is the game we've been waiting for from Square Enix for so long. Atmospheric, interesting and exciting all your attention modern jRPG with an interesting story and spectacular battles. To achieve the ideal, the project only needs more even graphics and all the content from the original release. If you were waiting for a turn-based classic with new graphics you will most likely be disappointed, since the game has changed a lot. Everyone else is happy with the release of the first really powerful single-player release from the internal Square Enix studio for many years. Especially after the failure of Final Fantasy XV.

    What matters is still intact, and that’s the heart and soul of one of the greatest stories in video game history. It’s a return to form that has felt a long time in coming, and what’s even better is that there’s still at least two more games of this quality to come...They can’t mess this up, can they?
