    Releasing a game in the state Fallout 76 is in, can be expected from a Indie developer.
    Not from a AAA-publisher that asks full price for this.
    Expect your typical Bethesda open-world issues. A generation behind in graphics/visuals Bugs/glitches/crashes that let you think that they don't have any type of QC there Nagging about Cross-play to PlayStation, but when Sony allows it they    Releasing a game in the state Fallout 76 is in, can be expected from a Indie developer.
    Not from a AAA-publisher that asks full price for this.

    Just seems like a shell of a game. No NPCs, quests are boring, and everything seems meaningless...and that's all when the game is actually working.

    All the people who are giving this game a score above 4 are lying. this is a mess. what a big failure. Todd and bethesda are the new hello games plus the new EA. and you know what bothers me? theyre working and theyre the ones who will release the new doom games and that worries me. not going to trust Todd howard again. Why everything that goes mainstream dies or gets destroyed? justAll the people who are giving this game a score above 4 are lying. this is a mess. what a big failure. Todd and bethesda are the new hello games plus the new EA. and you know what bothers me? theyre working and theyre the ones who will release the new doom games and that worries me. not going to trust Todd howard again.     I knew that this game wasn't gonna be mind blowing by any account but my friend and I had planned to both get it to play it together. I thought at the very least it'll be enjoyable playing with them.. I didn't think i'd end up falling asleep whilst it playing with them. I went into this game expecting it to be average but average would be a compliment. Fallout 76 feels like a small gradeI knew that this game wasn't gonna be mind blowing by any account but my friend and I had planned to both get it to play it together. I went into this game expecting it to be average but average would be a compliment. Fallout 76 feels like a small grade up from those asset flip **** games that people would put on steam. As consumers for Bethesda games we expect bugs on launch... but I got this a month after launch (cheap thankfully) and it's one of the buggiest games I've ever seen. There's no story, no NPCs to talk to and no sense of wonder as youre exploring the map. Buildings and places are just shamelessly reused from other fallout games and pasted.

    It's just a mess and I wish I could sell this game but I'd feel guilty putting the pain of the game onto another living person. This game has broken my faith in Bethesda and I have lost my excitement for Elder scrolls 6 because of it.    … Expand

    Do not support games like this one. If you do then you will support:
    - Pure money-driven developement,
    - monetization everywhere in RPG games,
    - old Bugthesda games assets and mechanics re-usage. Also old bugs ;)

    I've been a fan since day 1 of Bethesda. I do totally enjoy Conan Exiles (which people yell at it is unfinished and buggy as well), BUT Bethesda can do more. This feels like a early mod. Yes the world is huge, and while reading some information here and there it sadly is the only way of storytelling. This in addition to an aged engine and even more bugs than usual.     I wanted this game to be good. I was one of the people fighting for this game. When this game came out I saw how bad it was I thought it can't be that bad. Then I got the game for Christmas and played it.

This game is very boring with the most uninspired bare bones quests that I have ever done. One event quest is literally just escorting a robot through a city filled with like ten gouls. This is not fun this not how you do quest especially fallout quests.
    Fallout 76s world is huge. But a huge world is useless when there is nothing fun to do in it. The world comes off as very empty there are some places to scavenge and enemies to fight but it is still so barren.
    The biggest crime 76 commits are the attom shop. It is broken with fake sales and way overpriced skins. I can deal with overpriced skin in games like fortnite but that game is free to play. 76 is a 60$ game. It just comes off a soo greedy. Truthfully I had some fun in 76 but it was very few and far between.    … Expand

    Cons: +Character Doesn't Speak +No Humans to interact +Lazy copypasta +Gun Play is either 2 or 4 shots kill everything +Music is even more phoned in than in fallout 4...     Okay, where to begin? I pre-ordered this game (last time I will do that). I should have seen it in the BETA, but I gave Bethesda a chance, hoping they would fix some of the problems. I am a Fallout fan, played all games multiple times. But this is not Fallout. I dont mind that it is multiplayer, its a big map and its not often you see other players.     Graphics: Everything in the background look like it has haze/fog, all the time. The graphics on FO4 is better.when looking at objects in the distance.

    Lootbox: its stupid with the 400 limit, its way to low. Fallout is a game where you should loot and collect for building and crafting. With this limit it destroys the fun of the game, because you have to use way to much time to handle inventory.

    Framerate drop: I have noticed heavy framerate drop in scrapping menu, nearly to the point that the game becomes unresponsive if you have many items.
    The same happens when you enter areas with many enemies or players. Also there is a lag from when you enter VATS until you can shoot. Not fun when the game throws many enemies at you. Its better to stay away from VATS in those situations.

    Enemies and spawn: Its kind of stupid that enemies spawn at an area you have cleared right away. Its frustrating, and takes away some of the fun. Like, if I clear that area, leave to dump some items at my camp (that is placed just outside the area I cleared), I have to start all over when I return to same area a few minutes later.
    The same if you die. I was clearing out a big area with high level Super Mutants, nearly at the end I died ( because of lag and unresponsive game). Then I could spawn outside the area, but I had to clear out everything one more time. I turned of the game instead. This is not my idea of fun gameplay.
    No contact with server? Same result. I was thrown out of the server when clearing out many enemies, came to the last one and game froze, no contact with server, resulting in logging in again, spawned just outside said place and had to start all over again. (now with less ammo and food/stimpacks). This makes progress feel useless and boring/frustrating.This is not fun Bethesda,

    Many times enemies float on the ground when they move, it kind of looks like they are on a hooverboard instead of running/walking. Enemies that you cant kill, enemies that just stand there. The AI in this game is rubbish.

    VATS/Shooting: When targeting and shooting enemies in VATS it is a frustrating lag (as said before). From pressing button for entering VATS I have to wait a second before shooting. If I shoot right away the first bullet will miss as VATS uses around 1-2 seconds to lock on target. This is frustrating as you sometimes have to act fast when the game throws way to many enemies at you at once.
    When in VATS its not possible to bash enemies with gun, this can be frustrating if your enemies are to close and VATS uses said time to lock.(communicate with server).

    No NPC makes the game boring, with a very thin story. I really like and enjoy the Fallout universe, but this game dont belong in this universe. Shame on you Bethesda    … Expand

    Did the game cause me to experience some odd emotional breakthrough?

    This game is a joke. as a Fallout fan i must say that i am so dissapointed. i nearly got to level 15 and it is just boring as hell. there is no real story and just bunch of holotapes to listen to, the enemies AI is a total garbage and i couldnt find a single enemy that act or attack without a bug or a glitch. hell one time i had to escort a mr handy to a location in an event, then suddenlyThis game is a joke. as a Fallout fan i must say that i am so dissapointed. i nearly got to level 15 and it is just boring as hell. there is no real story and just bunch of holotapes to listen to, the enemies AI is a total garbage and i couldnt find a single enemy that act or attack without a bug or a glitch. hell one time i had to escort a mr handy to a location in an event, then suddenly the stupid robot got stuck in a tree and the whole mission got to hell. i never had a problems with bugs in Fallout3 and 4 or even slyrim or oblivion. but this game... this game is a glitch itself. the graphics are horrible and dont mke me start about the frame rates, all the guns, armors and items are ported from fallout 4 without any diffrence. the only good part about the game is looting and crafting but thanks to bethesda even this part feel like a torture with the items weights. level up system and the perk cards are kinda cool, but thats it, there is no other good points abut this game. i want to interact with NPCs and barter with them or even hear their opinions. just like the whiterun guards who said "i was an adventurer like you..." hell i want these kind of interaction not with some stupid robots that only say hello or goodday sir and finally the price of the items are a complete joke. i can sell a pistol for 2 or 3 caps and buy the same pistol for 80 caps. what the hell. the game is so boring and so empty. this not a brand new fallout, this is a 20 dollars online dlc for fallout4. shame on you bethesda. not only you didnt fix any problem from your previous games, you add like hundreds more in to this game. i kinda feel worried about elder scrolls 6.… Expand

    What good is a online game if no body wants to play it ? I bought Fallout 76 because I thought it would be fun to play with a friend . He wanted to buy it but after playing for my self , I told him to come over and test it out first. One hour later he was done. He left me with a question as a fan of past fallout game I’m still ask my self, “ Is this post to be fun?”

    Everything bad you have heard and more are true. I honestly think all the good reviews are written by staff members and share holders. Don't waste $60 on this game please. I wasted $120 because I bought it on PS4 and Xbox1 because oh yeah, you can't play with friends across platforms either. And another $59.99 to renew my PS4 Online pass, so I'm $180 in the hole for this abomination. If you really think you want to try this game just wait a few more weeks and you can buy !0,000 copies of it used at Gamestop in a few weeks for $2.99 because everyone is going to try to get whatever money they can back before it"s too late to sell it.

    If this game had been released as a disk based title with no way to update it online like games used to be made, there would be riots in stores with people demanding their money back! How can a "game studio" release such an epic title in such horrible condition? Yes, we all want the newest version of the games we love but WTF were they thinking they could cram this down our throats and we would just eat it? Don't give me the "this is a beta" or "it's only opening week" BS!!! Bethesda thinks they are going to reboot, repackage, copy and paste another title with a new map and rob their customers and fans of million of dollars!

    I'm sure hundreds of people worked their asses off to get this game "ready" for release but SERIOUSLY?!?!?! You knew this game wasn't even close to being ready and you pushed it out anyway. Now they are saying they are getting review bombed. Well guess what? I wouldn't have time to write this review if YOU HADN'T DROPPED THIS FLAMING PILE OF SH!T ON ME!!!! I would be spending countless hours enjoying a game I loved, playing online with my friends like you told us we could. But i'm not, cause when we get a group together, we keep getting dropped cause the servers keep crashing and reloading.

    I should really be thanking Bethesda for curing me of this addiction to Fallout. If this game had been half as good as previous versions I would have spent thousands of hours playing online instead of spending time with my wife and kid. But after 20 hours of ignoring them and TRYING to like this game, I just can't do it. I would rather sit with my wife and watch The Bachelor or some other God Awful show on the Oprah network.

    The game play, bugs and glitches and graphics issues aside is just horrible. The card system is pretty cool but you get random cards and have no way to "build a character" like you usually do in a fallout game. Imagine leveling up in Fallout 4 and just spinning a wheel to see what perk you get next. Oh WOW i just looted an awesome weapon, too bad I have to be level 30 to equip it. I'll just save it for later but oh wait, my stash is already full cause I can't craft anything useful till I find some plans for a GD weapon that I already looted 400 times and broke down for parts! I guess I'll just go kill another 10,000 scorched that keep re-spawning in my face every ten seconds and hope one of them drops something useful. NOPE just another A-D block, that's f-ing useful if Shawn was still a kid not a senior citizen. Building your own camp is kinda cool, till the server resets and you lose everything you built and have to start over. Taking a settlement for resources is great, till you logout and lose your progress. Or you invest tons of resources into it and some massive mob attacks it while your trying to complete a timed quest and destroys everything and you can't rebuild cause I'm out of junk!

    This game should have never been released in this condition. It can't be fixed with patches that are bigger than the original version of the game. It is flawed from the ground up and needed years more of work to make it playable. Bethesda has lost all credibility and I will never give them another dime. How they thought they could fool hardcore gamers is beyond me.

    PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

    - Game runs at low FPS
    - Loot de-spawns occasionally when picked up
    - Workshop mode is complicated and has the same mechanics as Fallout 4
    - Enemies have superhuman accuracy
    - World sometimes becomes a colorful, glitchy mess
    - Cannot play if you have no internet capabilities (Xbox Live or PSN)

    There was a time when Bethesda's name carried the same weight as Rockstar and Naughty Dog. As a bethesda fan I gave this game despite the bad comments a chance and played it at least 10 hours alone and further 20 hours with friends to make my own opinion. And i'm totally disappointed by bethesda, it was a waste of time to play Fallout 76. Never thought that I would say that about a Fallout game.

    Spent almost an hour doing the perfect character. Opened overseer's terminal to get quest. Disconnected from game. Reconnected. Back from zero. Fck that, I'm not playing this FO4 reskin anymore.

    FU Bethesda. Sell Fallout franchise to another company and stop digging the grave even deeper. This is first game in Fallout world i never buy. We don't need fallout online. We need interesting story, many good quests, tons of exploring places.

    Having put some time into Fallout 76, I can say that it is not an enjoyable experience, for me at least. There are a number of reasons for why I don't enjoy this game, so I suppose I'll start with the lesser reasons and move on from there.

I have put 168 hours into Fallout 4, which was by the way my first Fallout game, and loved every second of time    Having put some time into Fallout 76, I can say that it is not an enjoyable experience, for me at least. There are a number of reasons for why I don't enjoy this game, so I suppose I'll start with the lesser reasons and move on from there.

    Fallout 76 doesn't feel like Fallout. I have put 168 hours into Fallout 4, which was by the way my first Fallout game, and loved every second of time I put into that. I came into Fallout 76 expecting a similar game, but one that had enough differences that it would feel new and fresh. Sadly I was left disappointed. The world feels recycled, the quests feel meaningless and the gameplay feels generally boring and more of a chore than a fun time.

    I'll start with explaining how quests work. Basically, you're gonna be getting quests through a few different means, be it through a robot, a holotape or a note left by a long diseased character. But the reason I kept coming back to Fallout 4 and Skyrim is because of what the quest has to offer and how the quest offers it. Quests felt good to complete because they made it feel like you were helping someone, or having an effect on the world. Unfortunately, because there simply isn't any NPC human in this game, it feels like you are just running errands for robots or long gone characters, and it feels as if it has no effect on the world at all.

    Next, the world itself. Fallout 76 feels like a recycled version of Fallout 4, with some multiplayer sprinkled in for something "new". Every location I have visited in Fallout 76 felt like it had already been seen in Fallout 4. Even the distinct different parts of the map felt as if I had seen it before. Basically, Fallout 76's world just feels like Fallout 4, with real players rather than NPC's.

    Finally, the gameplay. Fallout 76 has nothing new to offer in the sense of gameplay other than the fact you can play with friends. Everything I have done in Fallout 76 felt boring. Exploring felt boring. Doing quests felt boring. Building a base was a bit or fun for a while but eventually felt boring. I did get a chance to play it for about an hour with a mate, and even that still felt repetitive and boring. The only way I can see anyone enjoying this game is through setting yourself your own goals, which is what games like this exist for. But when you feel as if the only way you can enjoy this game is by doing your own thing and ignoring the story/ side quests, the gameplay gets repetitive and boring really really quickly.

    Fallout 76 feels more like a chore to play. The only reason I have given it a 4/10 is because I did have some good fun in the first 4-ish hours I played it, but after that it just felt like I'd seen everything. I wanted to like this game, I really did, but it has let me down.

    I've played every Fallout PC game since the begging (1/2/tactics/3/NV/4), and I don't regret a minute of those hundreds and hundreds of hours of play. FO76 pros: being in the familiar world, similar controls/crafting mechanics, plenty of room to roam and mob variety/scaling. Cons: bugs, server disconnects, paying caps to fast travel, CAMPs being demolished 2 hours after build, and theI've played every Fallout PC game since the begging (1/2/tactics/3/NV/4), and I don't regret a minute of those hundreds and hundreds of hours of play. FO76 pros: being in the familiar world, similar controls/crafting mechanics, plenty of room to roam and mob variety/scaling. Cons: bugs, server disconnects, paying caps to fast travel, CAMPs being demolished 2 hours after build, and the ridiculous nuke system. When a non-PVP lv10 player gets instakilled by the nuke, and you take a full HP bar of rads in 5-10 seconds, you have no way to get back your loot drop or even survive (if you paid to fast travel in, and the FT icon was outside the blast zone, but instantly die from rads). C'mon Bethesda, expand the blast zone on the map to where it really stops. I wanted to like this game but it's really crap, and I'm out 40 bucks and 50GB data for a horrible experience.… Expand

    1. The Beta should have showed them that this release was going to be horrible.
    2. There are all kinds of bugs with the GUI and the spawning of enemies and items. 3. I can't even break down and craft items because the entire menu system freezes. 4.     4. Enemies spawn at different levels and you can have enemies that are below you in level kill you with no problems. Or they spawn enemies that are so high above you that you can't even run away.
    5. They implemented a store for microtransactions that works better than the rest of the game. That tells you how much they cared about the main game.
    6. They tried to pull a Final Fantasy 14 or Street Fighter V by releasing a game that is not even finished.
    7. The VATS system doesn't work when zoomed.

At least I only bought it on Black Friday special as a gamble. Offered 2 free days trail of their Plus, whoopee. Dunno if can be played by sub accounts. But fallout 76 is bad, just bad. i played till end. everyone who give good critics lie. i give this game a real chance. it crashes many many times, it lags, bad grapics, no npc, no story. pvp is crap. crafting is a pain. After i made it to the end i cannot start the nulear missile because of a bug, i had to do this stupid dungeon with endless respawning robots again. no, just no! why bethesta?i delete it immediatly. ET on Atari is a better game than this. you should forced to play this game as a punishment. you rob the people, and deserve the ****… Expand

    Bethesda should shame alot for this. I will never buy a game made or published by bethesda anymore!

    Having played every iteration of Fallout from the start (including having a stash of Nuka-cola caps somewhere in my bedside table), and a long history with MMORPGs, I should have been the perfect target audience for an open world Fallout game. However, the reality is that Bethesda rushed a half-baked game that stripped the charm of Fallout series from the game, while failing to implementHaving played every iteration of Fallout from the start (including having a stash of Nuka-cola caps somewhere in my bedside table), and a long history with MMORPGs, I should have been the perfect target audience for an open world Fallout game. However, the reality is that Bethesda rushed a half-baked game that stripped the charm of Fallout series from the game, while failing to implement basic aspects of the MMO genre that have evolved over the last decade into standby's of the genre. Gone are the compelling Fallout stories, characters, quests and emotional ties to factions and companions. Gone is the humour and quirkiness, or surprising bits of lore that were embedded into the very fabric of the post-nuka landscape. Effectively, the Fallout world was reduced to another post-apocalytic wasteland with echoes of what drew people to Fallout over the past 15-years. Combine this with failing to implement any form of zoning mechanics, a total lack of instancing, terribly buggy re-spawn, woeful inventory mechanics, recurring and frequent bugs with C.A.M.P. spawning/placement, and totally non-intuitive levelling, and you have an MMO that learned NOTHING from WoW or other pioneers of the MMO space. From vanilla WoW through to Cataclysm, WoW always had a strong storyline and quest-givers that kept you involved - Bethesda could have taken this approach and not rushed the game to market and thereby would have kept the feel of the Fallout world, but alas, they chose not to.
    Overall, after playing Fallout76 for a couple months, giving it more that a fare share of playtime, I can't rate this game more than a 2/10.    … Expand

It doesn't even look nice. Bad gameplay, completely lazy story design, I honestly can't think of one thing they did right here. Многие жалуются, что с творческой точки зрения все написано не очень по-художественному,но данный текст писали обычные люди которые либо просто пережили атомную войну, и теперь ищут возможности для выживания в этом мире, либо жители довоенных Аппалачей.     I have started playing the game because of the trial period announced on E3. The battle-royale mode (Nuclear Winter) is nice. The main game remembers a lot Fallout 4. I don't miss of NPC's. The other players haven't force PvP battles. It's a nice online game. It's not perfect, but the Bethesda has been worked a lot improving the game. I believe the game will be cool in the future.

Have gotten stuck in the game world several times, forcing me to reload my gave instance. The building of camps in the game is a joke. And now, 76 instead of bringing that unforgettable storytelling (which is a trademark of the series) does something completely different, worse!, something the COMMUNITY does not want.

    Fallout is not a coop game, sorry. It's not a multiplayer game, with daily/weekly events, with pvp shenanigans, trying to be a half baked mmo. It's about an individual journey, getting lost in a believable world and hooked by an incredible story.

A big empty boring world, as your copy of the world is instanced and only contains a handful of people. Nothing you do is persistent or has any impact. Players would do the character creation, follow the story from emerging from the vault and then get dropped into a menu (or GTA open world) where they could join quick matches. QM's like Fortnite or PUGB would drop your characters off andHere's what I THOUGHT Fallout 76 would be.     They haven't given 2 **** about updating their A.I. since Oblivion, and I pray to God if he is still somehow alive that they never release another title with this horrible system.

    Like seriously, the A.I. in offline mode Recruit difficulty has more competence than these A.I.

    They are milking this franchise till it dies, and I will be surprised if they don't just quit.

    Finally, for some reason, I fear to touch this game now.

    The Fallout New Vegas Multiplayer guy made a more effective mod that people would have probably actually payed money for, not whatever this is.

    And for those of you who are like...

    I wish I could, but similar to escape from tarkov, I was only told the implications of what I was buying once I bought the game, and wasn't told how hard of a dicking I was recieving for pre ordering the game.

    Battlefield 2 looks like a passion project compared to what I was given with this.

    I will say **** You' for all of the people who had faith and didn't buy Red Dead Redemption 2 because they wanted to play the new Fallout.

Enemies are coming in such big numbers, that you basically die every few minutes. You have to collect and produce stuff all the time - otherwise you'll die. It's just stressing you out. I think I will delete the game and replay Fallout 4 with some mods and additional DLCs. That's way more fun.    … Expand

    Sorry i thought this was the released game not the BETA perhaps i am confused? So you get the game day 1 you then have to download an update that is the whole game. even with my 600m connection still took nearly 2 hours due I think to server loading. Then you have to do this again less than 5 days later at least this time it was only an hour.     If this is not bad enough then your faced with multiplayer and with no warning you have lost everything you have spent 2 days collecting, then 2 days later you die and game craps out and you lose it all again. Some instructions or tutorial for the multiplayer would have helped.

    Nel 2018 mancana il supporto ai monitor 21:9 e relative risoluzioni, il FOV non e' regolabile se non smanettando con i cfg cosi' come l'FXAA ed il framerate e' bloccato a 63. Non acquistatelo prima che correggano queste cose fondamentali per chi ,come me, gioca su PC

    if you have friends or love all thing Fallout then this game will probably be a 5 to 7 out of 10. If you're like me and your friends aren't interested in playing FO76 so you'll be playing SOLO and you like the Fallout series but aren't obsessed with it it'll probably be a 3 to 6 out of 10 experience. Anybody whose played online games for more then a day knows the gamble it can be to playif you have friends or love all thing Fallout then this game will probably be a 5 to 7 out of 10. If you're like me and your friends aren't interested in playing FO76 so you'll be playing SOLO and you like the Fallout series but aren't obsessed with it it'll probably be a 3 to 6 out of 10 experience. Anybody whose played online games for more then a day knows the gamble it can be to play with rando's online. Ironically the measures in FO76 to stop griefing or trolling makes the inclusion of PvP extremely dull if not almost absent The world is beautiful but empty. IMO it's worth it to hold off buying until it becomes clear how much Bethesda plans to invest in the online experience or if the activity will have a significant drop shorty after release. As of now I don't see this games' activity lasting and I predict a steep decline within 90 days of release. If the online activity holds and Bethesda invests with patches for bugs, added content, and not going down the micros-transaction road this game could be a 7. Not yet though.… Expand

Last time I checked, raiders don't have to ask for consent to shoot and kill you. The shooting mechanics are about has clunky as they could be. Instead of striving to make things fair and balanced in PVP, they just made something that is clunky and painful to play, and doesn't attract FPS players at all. At least other survival games know they have to rely on PVP mechanics, DayZ's was more fluid and balanced than this game.

    Fallout 76 was an ambitious project that strives to hit every niche, yet suffers horribly from an identify crisis and fails to even hit one of them. It does not appeal to my love for survival games because it fails at being one, it doesn't appeal to my love of role playing because I can't even role play as the one thing I'd want to be, and it doesn't appeal to my love for shooting games because it's clunky and horribly balanced. This game is an abomination.

    Bethesda, listen to your consumers and stop acting like fools, it doesn't "just work" any more. Hopefully this game's reception will be enough of an eye opener.    … Expand

    TODD HOWARD strikes again, with a buggy mess, an online game nobody wanted, and made in a 2 decade old gamebryo engine. God of War and Rdr2 are much prettier, perform better, and are worth every cent in quantity and quality. BGS is dead to me, and I've lost faith on starfield and tes6.

    One of the best multiplayers this year. Nothing can compare to the fun i've had playing this game and with friends makes it a thousand times better (unlike most toxic fallout fans). This is a true fallout game and i've been playing fallout since the 1998, yes it might be different but what's the fun in playing the same thing over and over again, grow up.

    First, you can`t launch a broken/unfinished game anymore. It is unacceptable.     Spend over 100 hours in this game already and my char is level 109 now and I have finished all "main" quests. So far I can really say I have seen probably more than 50% of the game and can give a real and honest critic about Fallout 76.
    If you loved Fallout 4 or 3 you will feel at home with Fallout 76. It is like a Fallout 4.5 with Multiplayer mode only.

    Let's Directly start with the most horrendous aspect of this game. Let me directly state that a company of the size of Bethesda have no excuses delivering us a game of this quality. In my approx. 20 houres of playtime with fallout 76 i encountered numerous crashes, glitches, freezes, FPS drops, pop ins etc.. Out of previous games of Bethesda we know we can expect a certain amount of bugs and glitches, but fallout 76 gives me the overall feeling the game was not ready for a full release.

    Comparing to new release this year, the graphics also feel a bit outdated, although i could put this in context if the earlier mentioned problems wouldn't be present. I truly hope for this aspect of the game Bethesda do tremendous efforts to fix it. Weirdly this game has a potential to become a gem, but at this time from a technical point of view it is a raw uncut gem.

    Story:

    Many people state that fallout 76 consists of an ill, bad story. Comparing to previous entries in the series you could say the serie misses out one of its bigges strenghts of the series... The dialogue. Althought after delving deeper in the underlaying story of Fallout 76, it truly captivates me on what just happended to the local residents who resided in the wasteland after the bombs dropped. The main difference with previous entries is, that in fallout 76 alot of the stories is written down in documents, terminals and holotapes. This way you have to do more effort and actually read stuff to understand the bigger picture of the story.

    Game-play: Fallout 76 has the core game-play elements of fallout 4. Exploring the wasteland is still one of it's biggest strenghts. indirectly the absence of NPC's plays a bit of a negative role in this. While you scour trough the wasteland looking for answers, sometimes it feels like you are just killing without any significance to the world around you. the weight limit and stash limit also have indirectly a big influence on your playtime. It truly is frustrating to return you your camp every five minutes to scrap and reduce your weight. Also the use of foods and drinks in the game is unbalanced. It drains to fast and totally takes the pace out of the game. Simple gameplay tweaks concerning food& drinks, weight & stash limits wil increase the fun in-game significantly.

    Sound: This may be one of the only aspects of the game i can't critsize about. The sound, going from ambient sounds, dialogue, soundtrack is top notch. I truly enjoy putting on the radio and hear ghostrides in the sky blasting out. In this aspect Bethesda did a tremendous job again.

    Conclusion: If you like a game with alot of underlying contect, fallout 76 will be your thing. The world itself is of huge proportions and is a joy for exploring if you dont mind the technical problems the game is having right now. With the right care and fixes this game would be one I advise to my friends to play. But at this very moment I would advise people to wait for patches to start rolling out.

    Sidenote: I truly don't understand why bethesta didn't entrust a multiplayer version of fallout to Zenimax. For me Zenimax did a tremendous job with Elder Scrolls Online. Something which Bethesda has failed to do with Fallout 76. The only hope i have is that Bethesda takes the example of Zenimax and have the same devotion to keep rolling out game fixing patches after launch like Zenimax dit with ESO.

    For now i give this game a 6/10. A generous score for a game with alot of problems in it's current build.    … Expand

    Fallout 76 is a quick cash grab and that's it. I couldn't even start to explain how terribly made this game is and i shouldn't have to. i'm about 15-20 hours in and every session i feel like im forcing myself through it just because i love fallout and i don't remember enjoying and SINGLE thing.

    Honestly, it feels almost like a regression from Fallout 4. They scrapped several mechanics throughout and there just wasn't anything to replace them with. The fact that there is just nobody around in the game NPC wise makes it feel incredibly lonely.

    If I could return the Beta and game I would. I have hundreds of hours into Fallout games and I can't get past an hour before this game just sucks. You walk around, get killed, re-spawn, walk around, get killed, re-spawn.

    I think a blank screen would be better.

    But worst of all is Bethesda's complete lack of any sort of apology for making us pay £50-60 for a completely broken game. This trend towards release now, fix later in AAA games is absolutely unacceptable.

    Lacks in so many areas. Not enough was done between Beta and Release day. Maybe that will change when private servers are implemented. And perhaps if they had thought to have PVP servers and PVE servers seperate it would have helped too.

    Im getting off topic though, back to 76.
    Now with 76 we have... Nothing. A decent co-op time for sure, but no NPC's, no reason to explore, no uniqueness left in the game whatsoever. The enemy designs are among the best the series has ever had-- I'll give it that. Thats the most I can say, though. Its fallout 4 but with even LESS to do, less content, a larger, more barren map, and a restricted highly limited building system compared to 4's.
    This would also be a good time to mention I have ~70 hours in 76, I have played the game extensively since launch. And I understand all the hate. Look at a game like Fallout 3, over a decade old, and holds up better than Fallout 4 or 76 ever will. The game had an actual WORLD. Vivid and practically alive locations and residents, each person was an actual individual, there was something to do at every location and town. 76 is so lifeless its embarrassing Bethesda even /thought/ of this game.

    Fallout 76 has next to nothing to offer outside of some fun co-op moments with friends. The entire game is a bland, lifeless experience, and is hardly worth playing. Bethesda is a ghost of who they once were and I doubt they'll ever be back to their golden days. Each game they pump out s just mediocrity after mediocrity. Bethesda is dead.    … Expand

    So utterly disappointing and flawed in every possible way… The first few hours, most of it can be ignored, and occasionally the flaws can be forgotten, but only briefly before they come storming back to the forefront. An awful, boring, empty, pointless experience. There is, however, a glimmer of hope. It's worth mentioning that there has already been a Bethesda title that was equally as unimpressive: The Elder Scrolls Online - but looking at it now, it has transformed into one of the best MMOs out there. There's always the hope the Fallout 76 develops the same way and becomes something special, but for now, that seems impossible. It's a world away from that.

    Fallout 76 isn't your typical fallout experience. You don't have NPCs or dialogue, but instead get real players that should fill this void - that ultimately fails to do so. It does some things right, but as of now I cannot recommend getting this game as long as it stays a broken and boring mess that it is right now.

    Fallout 76 is the series’ Freshman introduction into the world of online, multiplayer games. As a result, we are experiencing all of the awkwardness and clumsiness associated with that season of life. It is imperfect and a bit uncomfortable, but I see opportunity for Fallout 76 to be more than it presently it - to be a truly great, rich Fallout experience.
