    Just bought a copy of Fallout 76 and found out I have to pay for a membership to play. Nothing was said about that on the container or in the reviews I read. I'll be taking it back to GameSpot. If this cashgrab is the way forward for Bethesda, I'm done with them. I don't care what they put out. And from what I've seen online about the game, its a waste of money and time whether you haveJust bought a copy of Fallout 76 and found out I have to pay for a membership to play.     Games trash, bethesda only cares about the shop and revenue based on the atoms in the atomic shop, they will fix minor bug issues and put useless patches in. Though they do care about the servers, trying to increase the stability on them. They provide no fun like they would in previous fallout games. The combat issues of fighting enemies that completely move past you through your character. The weapon levels being high as when you find em. The fact that everything breaks fast, even with the perks they still break fast. Theyve also added a battle royale to which they will put more emphasis and importance to it, meaning more concetration on that game mode then into the base game itself. The fact that it is in survival 24/7. Where you cant chose to get off of that. Where is they made adventure for mainly pvp. Where they couldve put survival in there or made a complete different game mode for that scenario or all. The toxic community to which they wont even allow you to talk bad on the game or address issues rather will completely insult you.     The absolute worst Bethesda/fallout game I've ever played. Between the lack of npc's, and horrendous predatory microtransactions, I wouldn't recommend this turd of game to someone that I hated. It's incredibly tragic to see this from what was my favorite studio, and franchise.

    I signed up only to write a review on this game. If I could give it a -100 rating I would. I bought the game when it first came out, last version I played was Fallout 4 and I absolutely loved it. In stark contrast, Fallout 76 is by far the worst game I have ever played and I’ve never been so disappointed by a game in my life. I went back to it for the first time today since buying it andI signed up only to write a review on this game. If I could give it a -100 rating I would. I bought the game when it first came out, last version I played was Fallout 4 and I absolutely loved it.     Best game i ever played. Todd Howard is my god now, my lord, my savior. He shall give me power in the darkest of times. I did see that mountain, and i could climb it.     I gave 76 so many trys but every time I bought and played it I returned it the same day. I would launch the game and within an hour I get kicked. I wish I could comment on the game play but I can't because I COULDNT **** PLAY IT.

The game released riddled with bugs and glitches that I would expect to see in a beta for most devs, but this being Bethesda, it was about par for the course. Which would have made it forgivable iif not for them announcing before hand that the game had 16 times the detail of FO4. I’m not sure where this detail is supposed to be found, but it is not in any part of the game I have explored in the last 100+ hours. Further more, the story is lifeless. I had an open mind with the holotape telling of the story and robots and the like...but the story itself simply lacked life, As usual with a Bethesda game now, combat is unimpressive as well. We move forward and see that the atomic shop now includes functional items, seemingly contrary to Bethesda’s original statements, but they conveniently only said the Atomic Shop would be cosmetics. Not that it would be cosmetics ONLY. I’m not sure that any of the player base caught that one prior to launch. Now instead of working on content that has been promised, begged for, and could save the game (NPCs), they have announced a 100$ a year paid subscription to private servers, something that was confirmed to be in the plans prior to launch, but never mentioning it being charged for, much less 100$ a year. Given the nature of mods (a core part of Bethesda games now), they are likely to be behind this steep pay wall as well. Given all of these facts, a 2/10 seems more than generous for a game that was released half baked and over priced, and remains so to this day.… Expand

    The game is not worth its price, and 100$ membership for 'singleplayer' mode is just a joke; but not only this, the main game is still seriously bugged, sometimes even unplayable, and now pay-to-win micro transactions. Just better spend money on The Outer Worlds.

    Don't ware your money, every time I attempt to play, It either crashes or I have to download a insanely large patch that takes ages to down, then breaks the game more anyway! I really would not recommend this to anyone.

    I waited to give it time. Let them fix it and make it better. I dont feel they have. It is still buggie and i just dont understand why they keep messing up. I feel there greed is showing and i will not buy another game from them without renting it first. If you are enjoying this game good for you but this left a bad taste for me.

    A total letdown and an unbelievable scar on a truly ponderous series. Completely broken shooting mechanics and the problems with this game is an affront to those who enjoyed the lore and individuality that came with creating your own survival. The so called leveling system is janky at best and in a few words the pinnacle of what broken promises really look like

    I bought all the original fallout games back on the pc and all the elder scrolls games. Bethesda has become a trash company like EA caring more about micro transactions than their customers.

    Dopo anni da lancio continua a presentare bug clamorosi che non permettono il proseguimento del gioco.
    Munizioni quasi impossibili da trovare, il gioco è basato su farm e fino a qui va benissimo, ma al momento che continuano a sparire munizioni e item dall'inventario allora vuol dire che non ci siamo proprio.

You dont get to interact with a lot of NPC's and most of them are just enemies that do something. Now your only friendly interaction is with computers or only through some radio chat.     I don't like when ppl are just either 0/10 or a 10/10 but man this game is LAZY! . I'm playing with friends and still we all kinda get bored. I find the game kind of ugly with the bad lighting, there's a mod for PC to fix that but not on ps4. Really just a unwanted game and unfinished game that ask for money. Also the no NPC's is ......worst idea they could of done.

    Wish I followed the advice of the internet and not buy this game even though I experienced the beta, don't know what I was expecting to change. Not worth the investment of your time into this game. Pick up something else for 60$

    Buggy grouping system most of the time you can't team up. Old graphics, terrible FOV, boring game play, storyline that you can't feel for it except being an annoying task, expensive micro transactions that is pretty much pointless as you still need resources to craft them, immense amount of bugs. DO NOT BUY YOU WILL BE BORED TO DEATH.

    I am really sorry for the fantastic franchise but Fallout 76 is exactly what i DONT want. Where is another fantastic single player RPG Bethesa is famous for? F76 is only another not even good MMO... this is not worth to call it a bethesa game. Time is over that I will simple buy a game because Bethesa stands on the cover.

    Pros. The Music is good, as usual. Cons. No NPC's. No Story outside of notes, holotapes and exposition shouted at you by robots.     Meaningless factions that lead only to busywork repeatable quests such as 'escort this robot' and 'defend this supply cache'.

    Shoehorned factions put in simply for brand recognition, despite them making no lore sense in the setting.

    PvP that doesn't exist.

    PvE that's stupidly easy, and when it's not easy you're just fighting bullet sponges.

    The dialogue system removed entirely.

    90% of the game is inhabited by these fake ghouls called 'scorched', no enemy variety at all.

    Ridiculous micro-transactions that manage to be even worse than the creation club ($3 for a virtual door for your house, $5 for some stupid hat).

    It's still on the creation engine. Which means all the bugs that existed in Fallout 4 and even as far back as MORROWIND still persist.

    You can speedhack the game just by editing a .ini file.

    There's no data encryption. Hope you're not trying to hide your IP address from some stalker.

    At release there are many issues with the game, including but not limited to:

    - No NPC quest givers. If anyone remembers the monotonous Preston Garvey quests of Fallout 4, be prepared to re-experience this again, except being given active quests from a computer. Storytelling is done solely through the use of hollotapes and somewhat creative uses of in-game object placement.

    - An aging engine. Fallout 76 runs of the creation engine, and whilst the game can be visually stunning at times, is host to many problems. Graphical issues, technical hiccups, texture pop-ins, and consistent optimization issues on all currently released platforms.

    - Always on mic. As far as I can tell, there is no way to turn off the audio of other players you encounter in the game. A right bummer if all you can hear down your headset is a screaming child!

    - Cosmetic microtransactions. Enough said.

    - Quite honestly too many problems to list. Read up on some more in-depth reviews, or if you have the game, play it to experience these blatant issues in their full glory.

    The game is a shameless attempt at a cash grab to capitalize on the popularity of games like Rust and Ark Survival evolved, whilst also utilizing the fallout world to sell copies of the game to unsuspecting Fallout fans. Its like if Valve released Half life 3 as a battle royal game exclusively for google cardboard. You don’t do it…

    Fallout 76 is a great commentary on the modern-day gaming industry, how publishers are adhering to the wants and needs of investors over long-term fans. Companies such as Bethesda are falling out of touch with their audience, and it is clearly shown in how Fallout 76 was marketed from its initial E3 reveal. Fallout 76 was doomed to fail from the start.

    My first 8 hours of playing this game... it was dead it seamed. it was as if i was playing Fallout 4 after the main mission. I was able to get a power armor frame. and a massive plethora of pipe pistols. that i can only seam to sell for 1-2 bottle caps or deconstruct into one or 2 screws. depending on item condition. and after about 8 of those hours, compiling materials and a few quests. i still couldnt build a full on house (4 walls and a roof). So after i gave up on the building aspect of the game. i then got board of doing the same kind of quests over and over again. ether fetch, baby sit, kill something, or read an entire essay worth of hidden quest paths. I have been around the block a few times with these holotape and such story systems. Fallout 1 and especially Fallout 2 had them already. It wasnt new.

    My next few hours. from hour 8 to about 12 i found one of my friends in game. And we didnt go on some massive adventure our the like. i was helping him get his quests done and the like he was helping with some of mine. We still couldnt really build much. And he got tired of just doing the same kind of quests as well.
    From about hour 12 to 13 we just talked and tried to figure out the leveling system, some crafting, and where to go and do next. so from hour 13 to about 16 we went to the edge of the maps. We tried to find the largest landmarks. and we ended up getting frustrated as we kept running out of ammo, and getting chased down by a gang of 4 other players wanting to PvP.
    My friend left on hour 16 and i went back to where i like to set up my shop. trying to work with the crafting system in some way. seeing what i could or couldnt do.
    Then followed by me Alt-Tabing out of the game to see how to start looking for nuclear launch codes... to no real prevail.

    My Review of this game is a 2/10. its boring. its empty. theres nothing at those cool looking locations. the story didnt hook me or my friend. the quests are generic MMO quests. its still buggy. and as i have seen from previous BGS games, they will remain buggy to the end of their life.
    The Engine is too old for this stuff they expect it to do.
    The players ruined my experience. but it was alright when i was playing with just my friend. the no push-to-talk system is cancerous.
    There is no amusement to about 80% of these locations.
    There is no random special encounters with lets say as happens in Fallout 3 or new vegas.
    Its arsenal is lack luster. it will be an E.A. like system where i have to play some 100+h before i get to end game equipment. that i might not even have the level to use. I already got power armor frame and a minigun though. Ammo is harder to come across.
    The survival aspect of this game is a joke. you dont get hungry or thirst too often at all. Softcore survival just means that you are to not have too harsh of a penalty on death... not have it become a massive chore when you actually need to drink or eat.
    The game is alright for exploring and some time with friends. But thats all that is here. wide as an Ocean, deep as a puddle. ill give it points for the looks and the environment. but everything else? No.

    Out of this entire experience, i came out feeling ripped off. I payed $65 pre-order... i get home to open my PHYSICAL CD case. to find that where the CD is, its a cardboard disk... THERE IS NO PHYSICAL COPY OF FALLOUT 76. and it was STILL a FULL PRICED game. Not only that but the pre-order from Gamesstop; Their special pre-order item? was a Fallout Sticker to put in your car window.

    I have no idea what Bethesda is doing. idk if this is Todd's idea. but if this is a joke. it went right over all of our heads.

    This isnt Fallout anymore just an online mod for Fallout 4 which isnt even finished and well made, Sad :/. Playing with friends makes this game significantly better but it doesnt change the fact of overall experience regarding this game in comparison of whole genre.

    As a die hard Fallout fan, i came out very disappointed. Graphics are not up to par, buggy quest requires me to redo it after wasting numerous bullets and lastly doesn't feel like a fallout game. Save your money folks and go elsewhere.

Fallout 76 and Fallout 4 have been so bad and this game made me realize how far Bethesda has driven the franchise from the original ones.     I've been waiting 20 minutes on the loading screen to connect to the server. After I connect because of desync and replication issues with the server, I get killed. Have to wait another 5 minutes on the loading screen to respawn. I go into a building and get stuck on a pile of trash so I need to fast travel somewhere...     Yawwwn was how 76 left me feeling. Could not help thinking it felt like a multiplayer expansion of F4 but with no NPC's it just didn't feel like Fallout to me. I think half the trouble was that the map was too big and at times felt so sparse with the lack of interaction and the quests were soo boring. Shame, looks like we will have to wait for F5, will play through NV and F4 again in the meantime.

    Everything you love about the fallout franchise is killed in this game. This is the most frustrating game I have ever tried: the survival part is annoying and keeps you interrupting the few fun moments of the game and it gets even worse if you are in a party: "sorry I have to drink", "sorry I have to eat", "sorry I have to unload all my junk in my camp". The map is huge but withoutEverything you love about the fallout franchise is killed in this game. This is the most frustrating game I have ever tried: the survival part is annoying and keeps you interrupting the few fun moments of the game and it gets even worse if you are in a party: "sorry I have to drink", "sorry I have to eat", "sorry I have to unload all my junk in my camp". The map is huge but without content, loot is also a joke becouse you find only junk, no matter where you are. Paid fast travel is the definitive insult to all the players becouse they basically stretched the few ideas they had on a huge low resolution and heavily bugged environment. Questing is also a nightmare becouse mobs are on random levels all around the map, so even if you follow the "story" (read on terminal/find stuff/try to figure out why the markers are pointing on random positions/repeat) you'll find yourself stuck in areas with mobs killing you way too fast.

    The huge download for this game was an inconvenience, but not really a deal breaker. Unfortunately, that is the smallest of my complaints about this game. Fallout is a great franchise that they have simply broken with their insistence on making this a multiplayer game. Oh and by the way, they can open doors to your base. the VATS sytem is useless because it cannot slow time, and switching to another weapon in a firefight with with multiple enemies when you run out of ammo is comedy gold. I never got past these things to find out more because i was so frustrated. Did I mention the lag or the 5 second screen freeze during fights? F you, Bethesda, you made a great SPG into a sh** MMO.… Expand

    Save your money. I played it solo so that is what i will speak to. A Rare mix of boredom and frustration.. I played 2,3, Vegas and 4 and this has nothing to do with this not being 5. No adhesives anywhere and you have to use them to repair, you can’t upgrade anything. Played to level 10 which is 9 too long. Wish I had bought the disk so I could throw it in the ocean.     I have forced myself to play this game for a couple of hours due to the fact that i paid good money for it. It is that bad. I have a build computer with a 4k monitor and run the graphics at ULTRA. Even with this, the graphics are not that good. I don't know if it is the fact that i had the 4k texture pack with the last fallout and i was expecting but nevertheless they are poor. Power armor is designed to be used most all of the time however the sound is annoying after a while and the blocked field of view sucks. I understand people were upset with the bugs and glitches during the beta and think that the low reviews due to bugs BEFORE the game was released are uncalled for as it was a beta however I did not start playing it until it came out (actually about a week after it came out) and it still had bugs. Nothing like random crashing of a server or glitches making things fly. Maybe i was just hoping for something better. The final negative thing is the music! I'm not joking when i say that my daughter listens to fallout 4 music on google play all of the time and when she realized i had the new game she was soooo excited. When we turned on the radio, it was the same songs as fallout 4! Seriously!… Expand

I mean whose idea was it to take out npcs and leaving up to other players to make an experience and the holotapes dont even get me started. Given that all the previous editions were single-player games, I think Bethesda should spell that out. For those of us who long for a game and story as well-told as Fallout New Vegas, let's hope that Bethesda learns from this mistake. It's also up to us to vote with our dollars -- don't buy this if you're on the fence! All that said, I did think the graphics were well done, and I liked the idea of a prequel. I think you could have some amazing NPC characters in that world!… Expand

    Unplayable on PC, Game does not support freesync and graphics are broken and glitch. No NPCs and so dark you cant see anything at night. Even worse, it is release week and the game just went 33%.. off so yeah, why did I preorder at full price, wheres our discount?

    So utterly disappointing and flawed in every possible way… The first few hours, most of it can be ignored, and occasionally the flaws can be forgotten, but only briefly before they come storming back to the forefront. An awful, boring, empty, pointless experience. There is, however, a glimmer of hope. It's worth mentioning that there has already been a Bethesda title that was equally as unimpressive: The Elder Scrolls Online - but looking at it now, it has transformed into one of the best MMOs out there. There's always the hope the Fallout 76 develops the same way and becomes something special, but for now, that seems impossible. It's a world away from that.

    Fallout 76 isn't your typical fallout experience. You don't have NPCs or dialogue, but instead get real players that should fill this void - that ultimately fails to do so. It does some things right, but as of now I cannot recommend getting this game as long as it stays a broken and boring mess that it is right now.

    Fallout 76 is the series’ Freshman introduction into the world of online, multiplayer games. As a result, we are experiencing all of the awkwardness and clumsiness associated with that season of life. It is imperfect and a bit uncomfortable, but I see opportunity for Fallout 76 to be more than it presently it - to be a truly great, rich Fallout experience.
