I thought that all the reviews were being harsh for no reason and decided to give the game a chance as I was a huge fan of Fallout 3 and 4. The reviews were correct. This is not a fallout game. it is missing all that makes a game a Fallout game except for the wasteland. This could be the game that destroys the fallout series and makes me worry about the upcoming Elder Scrolls. First, this game is so bad that the positive reviews it gets from the critics just shows me which critics take money for reviews. This game is bad across the board.

I think a lot of people have covered why the game is bad, so I'm not gonna rehash the combat, story, interactions, bugs, and general lack luster game play. But I just wanted to touch on why they didn't release it on steam:

But I just wanted to touch on why they didn't release it on steam: Because they knew steams return policy would destroy them. Plain and simple, they knew it was going to be a flop from internal testing and beyond, and they decided to just cash grab and not waste anymore resources on it. This garbage is the result of that. I regret buying it, and I may touch back on it in a few months to see if they have decided to make a new game between now and then, but for now, I'll be spending my time playing better games. Or watching paint dry. Both are more fun.

Unlike what I read, I find this game very nice and interesting, for lovers of fallout and beyond. Bugs are seen on every game, you just have to give it some time and you will see that this game will resume

Gave them a pass on Fallout 4, I felt like they deserved it. But this? Nope, the unfair launch I got as a consumer to then see 50% discounts within 10 days is why this gets a 0. Pretty sure everyone else has pointed out the more legitimate gaming reasons that I don't need to mention again.

Fallout 76 is an insult to the franchise and fans. All the negatives outweighs the good, I’ll get straight to the point, at its current state it’s not worth your money. A Fallout game is meant to immerse you through its dangerous world and lore but that’s not possible here thanks to the game being far too easy and the fact that there’s no NPC’s to give you quest with a unique story behind it. Even with friends it can get boring very fast when you realise there’s nothing but repetitive quest from terminals/robots/holotapes. Bethesda was always known for their buggy games and at times they were funny, however here with the game itself being a mess, the bugs/glitches are much more and they really standout. The graphics looks like they came from 2008 and that’s because they still use the out-dated game engine which in today’s high standards is unacceptable. There are also the other problems like carry capacity limited but I think I’ve said enough for today. Expand

This game is an atrocious mess of bugs and problems.

Firstly, the game is not at all fun. Quests, which should be enjoyable feel more like work. Like come on cooking a steak, and testing a water sample. I was bored after 30 minutes and could not bring myself to play more. I wasted C$109.99 on this game, it one of the worst decisions I have EVER MADE. I expected way more from a AAA

I wasted C$109.99 on this game, it one of the worst decisions I have EVER MADE.

I expected way more from a AAA publisher like Bethesda.

I would ask for a refund but I know I would not get one because of some excuse made to make as much money as possible, even if it means losing a loyal fan base they ripped off. Fallout 4 was great Fallout NV was one of the best games I have ever played, but this? Fallout 76 is what I would expect from a small indie developer, not Bethesda.

From the lies told at the E3 event to the manipulative “B.E.T.A.” this is a mess.

I honestly feel used like many others. This is a sad excuse for a Fallout game, I was so excited, now I want a refund.

The Fallout franchise was one of prestige in the gaming community, with this release it has turned into the laughing stalk of games in 2018.

I URGE YOU to spend your hard earned cash on an amazing game like Red Dead Redemption 2, my personal favorite of the year. If you are look for a good Fallout experience this is not that.

This game was flawed from its conception, and with be known as the game that ruined the reputation of one of the best game studios of all time.

    Would NOT recommend.

I never once had a fun time, there is nothing in this game, nothing makes you feel immersed. You’ll start off by running from one dead town to another dead town to listen to a tape. This is 90% of the time you’ll spend in the game if it’s not organizing your inventory of 10 slots. This game was a good idea, never once was it executed. Not bad as old man Pete would say at the Last Plank in Far harbour. However, it's not the Super Mutant's that bring me out in a cold sweat, nor is it the Scorched, not even the anti-human bots, nope it's the bug's !
Rad roaches nibbling my ankles is one thing but 'full on, boot you out of the game' Rad Bethesda bugs that always strike when you are low on ammo having got cornered by a posse of bad guys is the stuff of nightmares. You got it after painstakingly rebooting the game all you're dead enemies are... well, no longer dead - but you're ammo count definitely is.
In order to build a decent future for yourself, you will need stuff. But you're store capacity is severely restricted, don't worry though, 'cause you have trader bots - that only have 200 caps - no matter where you shop on the map, it seems like they have a central banking plan - no cash so tough doo-doo.
They buy for peanuts and sell for over inflated prices, the money you spend with them then suddenly disappears into the ether.
The all singing and dancing build anywhere C.A.M.P is just a hotel for hobbo's unless you are lucky enough to find the schematics to build something from corrugated steel. You cannot build anything if so much as a beautifully rendered stone or twig is in your way, you cannot build near other buildings, you cannot build anywhere near you're team mates, you cannot build on bumpy ground, but there is little to no flat ground anywhere - the world got blowed up da!
So anyway getting back to my level 49, T-60 Cammo power armour... I AM STUCK IN IT, I mean like totally stuck in it, I cannot therefore cook or boil water, I cannot craft anything only scrap everything. Bethesda said kill yourself!! wtf, no, not in real life. in the game dummy, but dat dont cure de problemo needa. It must have upset some other high level gamer's because they began nuking maps and then server hopping to do the same, unfortunately I was caught in the explosion on three consecutive maps, died and lost all my stuff including my house (Hobbo Hilton).
So I started a new character and got myself up to level 24 only to be hit by a rather amorous ghoul who knocked me straight through the join in a wall - I found myself floating under the map for a moment before the game crashed again (tenth time in 48 hours) I rebooted only to find that I had lost all my stash, no little paper bag awaited me, and I just turned the game off and became a member of metacritic, this is my first post.

Fun at first, but so many broken elements to the game kills it for me. High-level areas have bullet sponge enemies that can take an armor penetrating round to the head (no armor) without dying. So many things broken in this game, I don't know where to start. Worst insult to this franchise I've ever seen. Save your money and get Fallout 3, New Vegas, or even Fallout 4.

I finished all of the main, side and misc quests before hitting level 50, firing a nuke is too easy (I set my first one off two days after release) - I hoped this would be difficult and rare since it's more of an "end game" thing and even going into a blast zone is a flop as it's just pure radiated wasteland and/or repetitive enemies that you see in a normal zone, hitting a regular fissure site I saw absolutely nothing, I saw more enemies in a random part of the map blast! Then hitting a prime fissure, you get the "scorched earth" event which seems impossible on PS4 because the frame rate pretty much drops to 1 FPS.

I'm currently playing the game to get a platinum trophy as I'm a big trophy hunter and some of the easy trophies are bugged and will not pop. The game has endless bugs and feels like an alpha rather than a beta.
Very unrewarding experience to say the least.

This game is definitely not suitable for hardcore gamers, if you're a casual then you might enjoy it because the content will drag out but if you're a grinder like myself then you'll have done everything in a week.

Of all the things that disappoint me about Fallout 76, the Bethesda apologists have to be the worst part. Anyone making a claim that any and every bad review of this game is coming from someone who hasn't played it is making a massive generalization and huge logical fallacy. But nothing they do can amount to the mistake Bethesda made when they decided to make this game.

Its graphics are basically as bad as Skyrim on release. Bethesda is known for its buggy games but its like they know that we bought the game to try it out and they have most likely made all their money back with all the effort they did copy pasting grass models and terrain models. the big picture is everybody is dead and NPC's are nonexistant as far as the millions of Mr. Hand robots are concerned. my only positive experience is that it feels enough like skyrim to say i had a nostalgia moment at the beginning and it all sunk in when i realized that the game itself is pretty empty when i play alone. its mostly not what i was hoping for. dont make promises of grand graphics and shove off the sonic 06 of fallout games at $60. not worth the price of dissapointment Expand

Got the game for £12 in May which i thought was a decent price, regardless of the criticisms i'd heard. Stopped playing in June as I was hoping to wait for patches and updates, including the Wastelanders update, to play the game in a better finished state.

However with the launch of Fallout 1st premium subscription, I have to conclude that actually our lives have become the latest Fallout game and we're currently living within a Vault-Tec social experiment. Surely Bethesda are now doing this **** on purpose? There's no other reason they would continually treat the people who play their games like garbage (i softened from the word 'fans' because I'm just not sure this nomenclature works anymore).

The game had one of the most controversial launches from a AAA developer, with one of the most well-considered gaming title, with staunch, passionate players, that I can remember, and even in June 2019 I felt it best to put the game down to wait for them to do more 'recovery' on what should have launched as a fully-fledged product. Let's not forget, if a CD, DVD, App or other product, launched and was so poorly built it was unusable, we would be expecting refunds left right and centre. Stock would be pulled from stores or recalled to make appropriate fixes. Now clearly in the video game development world, it's fairly common place that games will launch less than perfect and try to fix with a Day 1 patch (erm, but why is that itself even okay???). But almost a year later, and having tried to join a session today, I received the same error regarding server access and my leveled character is still showing a 'Level 1' character on my name badge - a very small feature, one that I don't need, and one that doesn't work.

Yet in spite of this, and a number of failings regarding making promises to limit microtransactions to cosmetic-only, I was hopeful that things would ultimately get better. Then they announced Fallout 1st. Now, i'm actually not interested in the features behind the paywall - I play alone, but online and just ignore other player characters - fine by me.

But for £11.99 a month/£99 a year, Bethesda want to provide private(are they though?) servers, unlimited stash which allegedly plays child-catcher with your junk (...), a bunch of Atoms (to use on game advantage features...) and a few other things I've already forgotten about.

Are we serious? Is Bethesda okay? That price is more than a Netflix subscription giving you access to thousands of hours of quality products (none of which stall, stutter, bug-out, boot you from the service). it's more than a Boomerang video game rental which would give you a new game to play every month. Hell, it's more than my PlayStation Plus annual membership which i brought for £37. These guys must be joking. If they think the subscription benefits are worth the subscription pricing, they need a new financial/marketing team.

Ultimately - this game is a disappointment. I was hopeful and intending to play (i still will but. y'know, in umbrage) as I enjoy experiencing the Fallout worlds. But I just can't be hopeful for this game's future - unless Bethesda have access to market data or user research indicating we secretly enjoy being lied to, playing buggy games, and buying in-game items for game play advantage, that no one else is aware of - I don't see how they're going to keep, let alone increase, the player base and engagement in this game. Without doing so, I can't imagine it will be long before either something drastic changes at Bethesda, something drastically changes with the way they manage Fallout 76, or they decide it's not worth the return on investment and close access to vault 76 for good.

Absolutely horrible. Worst pre-order i ever wasted my money on. Ark was in better shape during its Alpha days than this game ever will be with how Bethesda has “managed” it.

I like to retry games like this every once in a while to see if i can ever get my monies worth, but I’m more likely to return to the void that is Anthem before i waste my time trying Fallout 76 yet again.

Optimisation is a term unfamiliar with the team(s) that handled this title, full of the same bugs and glitches that were prominent or actually patched in other Creation Engine entities. I find it very hard that this game was nothing less than a basic cash grab whilst they focus their main assets on the next Elder Scrolls title and their new Upcoming IP Starfield. I was hoping that if it was going to be this bad, that at least it would be entertaining. It's not remotely fun to read missions from terminals and listen to them on holotapes. To top it off, you just get fetch quests from the terminals and the holotapes. The VATS is severely flawed and doesn't work 25% of the time, switching weapons is harder than it needs to be and almost impossible to do during a fight when you need to switch quickly since the game doesn't slow down, the NPCs that they finally put in the game are uninteresting, and the server has crashed twice in the small amount of time I've been playing. I didn't mind paying full price for previous Fallout games, but I paid $5 for this one and feel like I got ripped off. Won't be buying Bethesda games unless they're God tier but I seriously doubt Bethesda will be making anything like that any time soon. Used to be a customer, not anymore.

One if the fun parts of fallout was always to collect stuff. But in fallout 76 they still haven't figured out how to implement more storage space. You can just store 800g in your storage.
When you want more storage place you have to pay 100€ extra per year or you can throw stuff away.

I leveled myself to 77 when this first came out and then stopped playing completely for the last couple of years. I 'thought' given the amount of time it's been, they should of had enough time to address many of the issues that made me quit in the first place. And of course, creating a fresh character makes me run into the same issues that have pissed me off with every Bethesda iteration. In this case, I talking specifically about the button mapping issues that has persisted for decades now. And every time, I need to go back and reset to the default button layout so that I can see where the button's' that don't work, get mapped to. As the engine has a terrible time showing and correctly mapping buttons. I am a pc gamer - I map my "Active/Activate" button to the letter 'G' - but in FO76 - the letter G only rotates items when you try and build sometime and does not allow you to actually place the item. So again...I have to reset buttons to default, see that the default is 'E' - reroute this to another button that doesn't 'rotate' items when in build mode.
I'm so tired of this...I've experienced some form of frustration around the button layout in virtually every single Bethesda game I've played for the last 15-20 years. Why is this so hard to address?!?

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have gotten to level 40, so My opinion is backed by a lot of gameplay. The crafting is a good addition, i dare say an improvement over Fallout 4's. though that is pretty much the only part of the game I enjoyed.

I fortunately did not experience constant crashing and glitching like others did, but it allows me to further look into the gameplay, which does not hold up. combat is lacking. The gunplay is bad as always, though its worsened by the fact that the starting guns are slow, weak, and awkward. Normally I would not care about the "weak" part, but seeing as how I can walk around with a board and kill most things in just 2 hits, its an issue. Enemies can of course still block your sledgehammer with knives, though it does not seem to be as bad as it is in FO4. Weapon variety is sadly lacking. It has been 10 years since FO3, I am not trying to sound like an ass, but its time for some new stuff. Aside from the black powder weapons and a tesla rifle I found it was more of the same. Also, why can we still not use a shield, or dual wield, or use a pistol or SOMETHING with our free hand when using one handed weapons? there is no reason to not use the one handed stuff unless it just happens to deal a **** ton of damage or if you can be dark souls parry king with it.

the story is lacking. Everything coming from holotapes and computer records takes out all the engagement and interest. there are in fact NPCs in the game: but they are on dimensional robots that only exist to trade or give you fetch quests. The scorched are basically mindless zombies, but unlike those of say the walking dead, they pose little to no threat, both due to simply being weak and due to poor AI programming. (had some simply stand there and let me kill them) the only interesting enemy among the scorched are the scorch beasts. this gets to my last point

lack of enemy variety. I was looking forward to seeing no super mutants as they do not come around until FO1, but lo and behold, we see em prowling the wastes, because " vault-tec poisoned the water" but thats ok, we should not see deathclaws very much either because at this point they are rare? nope, one can still find quite a few deathclaws around. It sums up the issue of the game itself: the game recycles so many assets and so much content from the previous games: its basically Fallout 4, but with no story, interesting characters, or anything meaningful in the world. We do have a few new enemies like the grafton monster and the windego, but they are so rare that i can hardly bring myself to count them, and because of the lack of story driven NPCs, we cannot have any new factions to spice things up. To sum it up, the game is empty and boring. And with the recent controversies surrounding the game my trust in Bethesda is decreasing. If you want to play a good Fallout game just pick up New Vegas or Fallout 3. Sure the graphics are literal **** but they have an interesting story, and memorable character, and new vegas in particular has great roleplay. &6 has none of these things. Maybe it will improve with updates, but as of now it is a failure.

The bad: Build limit, stash limit, lag, quests, no npcs, items, crashes, etc.
    The good: cinematic.
This game needs more work. They should have hired voice actors and added NPCs. The programming on the stash/inventory/vendors just causes lag outs. Either this is intentional Lag, or horrible/lazy programming. Inventory that isn't even rendered graphically should not lag the system.

The programming on the stash/inventory/vendors just causes lag outs. Either this is intentional Lag, or horrible/lazy programming. Inventory that isn't even rendered graphically should not lag the system. They could have easily separated it more into pages so that only 10 or 20 items load in at once. There is appears to be an issue with over processing of the inventory.

And if "ARK" can handle better builds than Fallout 76, that's pretty bad.

It feels like no thought went into this game.

It's unbalanced. Enemies are either extremely easy or next to impossible.
One quest even says "recommended 8 players". That's just horrible. You would have to get groups from some obscure gaming website to be able to do that. There is not a group-up mechanism in game. And the levels of players on server are to varied. A level 4 is not going up against scorch beasts. You're lucky if you get two people in the same area, let alone 8.

This game should not have been sold. Waste of money. And this is coming from a guy that has skyrim tattoos. I love Bethesda. But this game is horrible. The only reason I keep playing it is so I get my money's worth and drudge through the npc Void story.

This game is absolutely not worth buying - and Bethesda won't refund me for a game that is basically an early access. The PVP is broken and the griefing is out of control. The NPCs don't make sense and are bugged more often than not. The quests glitch and cannot be completed. Power armor is bugged to the point of non-use.

At the core - it's similar graphics to fallout New Vegas with online connectivity worse than playstation 2 games.

I had very much fun exploring the map but it came to an end because all the bugs. It looks crap because textures are not loading in. The combat is usually only at a couple of frames per second on my PS4 Pro. Animations don´t work. Invisible walls and ruble. Loot disappears in objects. Enemy´s don´t fight back. Enemy´s spawn in beside you. Enemy´s get stuck inside objects. Path finding is awful, enemy´s are running against walls. Settlement building is bugged. VATS is broken, accuracy can shift between 100 and 0 for no reason. And much much more, even bugs from fallout 4 is still there, mainly power armor bugs. The final nail in the coffin was that my character takes damage all the time without any reason where ever i am, what ever i do. This is the first Bethesda game i played for less than 100 hours.. Lack of story, buggy unfinished mess. All of the bugs would be tolerable if the world actually had human NPS instead of boring fetch quests. The "story" is just go listen to holotapes, read terminals and notes. Awful story, I can't stress how much this game is in the need for the implementation of Human NPS.

It has some of the look and feel of a Fallout game but it doesn't deserve to be part of the series. They should have never released this mediocre attempt just to produce an online experience. Instead Bethesda should have realized what they are good at: deep single player RPG's, and improve on that.

This game is borderline unplayable at times. They released a game that wasn't ready and what seems to be on a server that can't handle the type of gameplay. Game has a ton of lag, bugs and glitches. I'd spend your money elsewhere.

Bethesda really messed this one up. This new installment in the Fallout series is an experimental one, where Bethesda tried a whole new multiplayer experience by copy-pasting 90% of Fallout 4 assets.

I played for a little bit more than 76 hours, I've reached lvl 80 and in the process completed several innumerable quests, fought in pvp and took part of events. I really wanted to like this game because it feels so comfy just walking around the Appalachia exploring, and discovering the over 100 different locations in it but simply this game just doesn't work.

The story. Honestly, I stopped caring about the story at some point. Listening to monologues on holotapes all the time is boring, specially when the game doesn't stop (because of it's online feature) and you're always hearing noises, enemies and random people talking on their microphones. It's just a really weird way of replacing NPC's and dialogues that doesn't work pretty well. Sometimes I would find myself venturing into a random building, hacking into terminals and reading the mails and information to learn more about the lore but most of the time I wouldn't find anything interesting. In general it just sucks that everyone is already dead when you get out of the vault.

The enemies. Ghouls and scorched are spread everywhere so you're going to see A LOT of them and killing them gets way too repetitive after a couple of hours. The AI is way too primitive, enemies get stuck everywhere or sometimes it seems like they can't see you at all. You're gonna spend the first hours of the game admiring the flying Scorchbeasts flying above you and once you're strong enough to take one down with your friends you're in for a huge disappointment as these boss-like enemies don't drop any notable loot and they're just a waste of ammo, because trust me they usually take a lot of ammo to kill. You know when you're playing a game and after hours of farming and grinding you kill a specific enemy or boss and you feel so much pride of what you just accomplished? Well, you're not gonna get that feeling here.

The PVP aspect. When you shoot someone first you barely deal any damage so you gotta wait until the other player shoots you back in order to begin a "duel", unless they have a bounty on them. The most fun I've had so far was finding two players (bounty on them) attacking someone else's camp and taking them both down with my .50 cal. machine gun from behind, later accepting one of the player's challenge to kill each other. The worst experience I had with pvp was getting killed by a player wielding a knife and sporting a jet pack, this guy hit me and flew onto a building rooftop, of course I couldn't follow since I don't have a jet pack yet. He eventually killed me, I came back for revenge only to realize he was glitched so no matter what weapon I used I wasn't dealing any damage. This is a common issue, by the way.

The copy-pasting. Basically, what Bethesda did here was recycling most assets from Fallout 4, like weapons, armors, automated turrets, buildings and enemies, without providing with more content, which is what most fans expect from a new game. We have this whole new map to explore only to find the same power armors (except for the new Ultracite PA), the same guns and the same enemies from Fallout 4. Charging fans $60 for a multiplayer Fallout 4 experience complete with the same glitches it had 3 years ago is totally unacceptable. We deserved a whole new game, not a recycled one with a few add-ons.

The collector's edition. I just want to say I'm really disappointed with this, I care very little about the bag not being canvas although Bethesda failed to delivered something that was already promised but the T-51 power armor helmet's quality is outrageous, we paid $200 for it and it has glue everywhere, it feels cheap as hell and I feel like I'm gonna break it if I touch it too much. I also own the Titanfall 2 Vanguard's Edition helmet and the quality is 100x better even thought the price was around $150 I think.

Overall the whole game is broken, every day people find new bugs and Bethesda fails to keep up the pace fixing things. A huge disappointment.

I have played around 50 hours of this game, and I can say that if you're expecting a nuanced and detailed story like previous Fallouts, you will be disappointed. InI have played around 50 hours of this game, and I can say that if you're expecting a nuanced and detailed story like previous Fallouts, you will be disappointed. Fallout 76 strips you of interesting sidequests and storylines that made previous Fallout games. There's no factions or reputation system, There are no companions or NPCs that have interesting backgrounds or stories to tell. In fact, I can hardly say there is a "story" with this game at all, as it just involves running quest marker to quest marker, quest marker to quest marker. The quests are given out by holotapes and voice recordings and the main protagonist just decides to follow them ad nauseam. Fallout 76 completely takes away any semblance of player choice that made Fallout such a good franchise in the first place, you can not choose who to side with to finish the main story, as you are forced to work with different "factions" that consist of only dead people and robots.

All of this is to be expected of an online Fallout, though, right? What about the gameplay? The gunplay and shooting mechanics are serviceable, to the game's credit. I don't think there have been this many guns in a Fallout game, so you will always pick up new varieties of guns to shoot and play with, which was a big positive. You can mod the guns by scrapping old weapons and learning mod schematics, which I thought was pretty interesting. Power Armor is back as well, being as cool and tanky as ever. Scavenging for junk to build and mod your armor and weapons is time-consuming, but I thought looting and shooting was the most enjoyable part of the game. Some of the guns and armor I picked up though are locked behind level caps, such as the experimental mirv I found being only available past level 45. I know this is to balance the game's "PVP", but they mess that up terribly. The PVP system was the main thing I was looking forward to in the game, being able to snipe and kill people from long range, blow them up, etc. The PVP, however, is very underwhelming. If you attack someone, or they attack you, the damage dealt is reduced by about 90%. This "damage" is more equivalent to being hit with a pool noodle. There was one point where a level 50 came up to me, a level 10, and hit me with a super sledge around 10 times and only took off about a quarter of my health. You can literally choose to play the game without other people bothering you at all! If the person attacked fights back, however, you both do regular damage to each other. This system leads to people getting shot at, then going into their pipboy and taking all of their chems and just barrel stuffing their attacker with a shotgun. This system is unlike any I have ever seen, it just doesn't work properly. Without a properly working PVP, the game turns into a subpar shoot and loot. The game pretty much devolves down into go here, kill these guys, come back. Go there, kill these nameless enemies, come back. Though I did find myself enjoying exploring the numerous dungeons and areas, the enemies were always the same. It's just scorched, ghouls, mole miners, and super mutants, over and over again. This is unfortunate as some of the areas have super interesting backgrounds, and they're completely glossed over for just killing the same nameless enemies again and again.

The "RPG" mechanics as Fallout is known for are minimal. Your character never seems to get any interesting skills, and most, if not all of the perk cards are things like "10% damage boost with rifles" or "Junk items weigh 25% less". Gone are the days of interesting perks that can change the way the game is played. The perk cards serve their purpose, but for the sake of "balance", any interesting builds and perks from even Fallout 4 are scrapped.

All of this to mention that the game, technically, is similar, if not WORSE to any other Bethesda game. I had my game crash around 20(!) times in my playthrough of Fallout 76. I also had numerous occasions of bugged quest markers and glitched quests that I literally had to close my game numerous times to get the quests to actually work. The game runs like absolute crap on PS4, with frame drops and lag spikes very, very common. There were points in the game when I was in buildings in the wasteland where I was getting around 5(!) frames per second. This wasn't spikes in frames either, no. There were certain buildings where if you visited them this would be CONSISTENT until you left. Games in this state should NOT be released, especially for 60(!!!!!) dollars as a "AAA" experience.

Fallout 76 feels like a game without identity, straddling the line between PVP and PVE, while not committing totally to one or the other. It's too scared to fully embrace the PVP, yet it relies on being multiplayer too much to have any interesting RPG elements, NPCs, Factions, or side quests. Bethesda should have just fully committed to one or the other, and not give us this mediocre "run here, shoot this" type of game.

I'm lvl 45 now and consider to quit gaming this piece of ***** cause i get upset every single time i play it cause of: server crashs, missing (unlocatable) quest-items, disappearing items from my inventory, **** pvp-mechanics, stucking inside of map-objects and so on... (just a few examples).

Also the decision to NOT put ANY human NPC-Charakters (for storytelling) in this game was IMHO the badest decision they could made. Would the moron's at Bethesda really think that we like to READ the entire story from countless terminal screens and some fcking paper-notes which laying arround everywhere? **** NO! - I would rather buy a book if i like to read.

Meanwhile i've started to play "Stalker - Shadow of Chernobyl" again which is - even it's from 2007 - a thousand times better than this ****.

If i could get Bethesda an advice i would take all the remaining copys of Fallout 76, throw them on a pile, dig a big hole somwhere in the desert and bury them there like Atari does with E.T. back in 1983 - But please... burn down the pile before you bury it.

If you don't own this game and consider buying it... Let it be.
You'll regret sooner or later - i'll promise.

    Kind regards

So utterly disappointing and flawed in every possible way… The first few hours, most of it can be ignored, and occasionally the flaws can be forgotten, but only briefly before they come storming back to the forefront. An awful, boring, empty, pointless experience. There is, however, a glimmer of hope. It's worth mentioning that there has already been a Bethesda title that was equally as unimpressive: The Elder Scrolls Online - but looking at it now, it has transformed into one of the best MMOs out there. There's always the hope the Fallout 76 develops the same way and becomes something special, but for now, that seems impossible. It's a world away from that.

Fallout 76 isn't your typical fallout experience. You don't have NPCs or dialogue, but instead get real players that should fill this void - that ultimately fails to do so. It does some things right, but as of now I cannot recommend getting this game as long as it stays a broken and boring mess that it is right now.

Fallout 76 is the series’ Freshman introduction into the world of online, multiplayer games. As a result, we are experiencing all of the awkwardness and clumsiness associated with that season of life. It is imperfect and a bit uncomfortable, but I see opportunity for Fallout 76 to be more than it presently it - to be a truly great, rich Fallout experience.
