The first and only fallout game I have played (sadly) and I had a lot of fun looking back at it. I plan to play other titles thanks to Gamepass so my opinion on this game could change, but for now it’s a solid 7. I would say it’s pretty good but doesn’t excel at anything.

It's a good game if you love the Fallout series. The bad reviews are mostly about the price, which has dropped in the meantime and the Creation Club of Bethesda. I do not like the CC move either, you don't have to use it. If you're new to Fallout 4 I recommend to take a look at Nexusmods.

although i did enjoy my time with the game i cannot overlook its issues. the dialogue in this game is AWFUL, the characters are one dimensional, the bugs and lag on the console version are annoying as balls, the overall feeling of the sensitivity when aiming with a gun feels off, although i dont really care about graphics in video games this game definitely was lacking in that category, although i did enjoy my time with the game i cannot overlook its issues. the dialogue in this game is AWFUL, the characters are one dimensional, the bugs and lag on the console version are annoying as balls, the overall feeling of the sensitivity when aiming with a gun feels off, although i dont really care about graphics in video games this game definitely was lacking in that category, the world was uninteresting the story was bad i dont even remember what i liked about this game lol but i did enjoy it quite a bit 5/10 Expand

I first played this in 2018 and it instantly became one of my favourite games of the generation! I couldn't believe how immersed I became in the building aspect and aside from that, the world and lore in this game is amazing.

I recently decided to try and play through it again, but this time with mods. Some of the mods improved the gameplay in a huge way, but unfortunately in some areas

I recently decided to try and play through it again, but this time with mods. Some of the mods improved the gameplay in a huge way, but unfortunately in some areas the game also crashes very much... Especially in the DLC. So I decided to not finish it this time... It is overall a great game and has made me a permanent fan, but be careful if you use mods.

My first real experience in a role playing game and i fell in love with the different characters you could play as throughout the campaign. Looking back now , there wasn't an abundance of choice but the game does give you this freedom to roam free with your imagine despite in game additions.

The story in this game is decent, but not anything to run home about. there's literally no roleplay elements in this game which is where the biggest fault in this game lies. Some characters are cool and there are some badass weapons in the game and the factions are pretty awesome in this game. The commonwealth map is pretty fun to explore and I fairly enjoy the dlc. Fallout 4 is fun, sure. But Bethesda refuses to update its engine and, thus, Fallout 4 looks outdated.

This is a bit of a bugbear of mine, too many games play fast and loose with their main narrative drive and saddle you up with irrelevant sidequests as you go, and it's a serious conflict that ends up undermining their fiction.

This is a bit of a bugbear of mine, too many games play fast and loose with their main narrative drive and saddle you up with irrelevant sidequests as you go, and it's a serious conflict that ends up undermining their fiction.

Basically, it's quite common practice for RPG developers to write a strong main plot, typically with dire personal stakes, but then also bolt on a large sandbox around it. On the one hand, this has the benefit of fleshing their world out, making it feel like it's an autonomous, functioning space, but it also has the risk of introducing severe narrative dissonance. An excellent example of this problem is Fallout 4 (though most open-world titles are guilty of it), where you're theoretically on a desperate quest to find Shaun, but in practice you keep taking detours to help some **** dirt farmer with his bloatfly problem.

Ideally, when making a plot-driven RPG, you'd want to pace your story progression with natural downtime periods, when maybe you're chasing leads that might further your urgent goals or you're trying to earn your keep while you're waiting for a previously-concluded thread to bear fruit, thus introducing both the opportunity and excuse to engage with side-content.

When people say they want choices, they want meaningful choices. All the choices and solutions to quests in Fallout 3 are absolute meaningless, with no affect on anything whatsoever. Not to mention a lot of the solutions are overly simplistic and too easy to achieve.

Also, Fallout 3 didn't translate jack and **** from the first two games. It's like someone parading around in your favorite series's clothes, telling you that it's totally part of your favorite series. But it's not. It's a cobbled together pretender that uses recognizable iconography and some RPG systems from the series to make people think it's an actual Fallout game.

Ottimo gioco, storia intrigante, missioni secondarie divertenti anche se simili tra loro, ma soprattutto contenuti aggiuntivi a pagamento molto buoni e con un costo poco elevato davvero consigliato.

The game had a few problems, which translated into a lot of damage. These problems, moving away from the roots of RPG and the imbalance between RPG and shooter, made it not become a top Bethesda game.
The problem of the dialogue system and the character not being silent and the very few choices of this game was very good overall game

This game is just A pathetic excuse for entertainment. The story is just a reversed version of the previous games story with A pointless plot twist and forgettable characters.

Why Bethesda, why? What could have been a great adventure is pulled down by stupid mechanic of base building, that dont make sence and it works and look terrible. Why you spend time on this **** mechanic instead of properly testing the game.

Answer: 75 characters is between 10 words and 19 words with spaces included in the character count. If spaces are not included in the character count, then 75 characters is between 12 words and 25 words.

You seem to spend too much time picking over the scenery looking for junk for the over-complicated crafting system and getting killed by random baddies who have nothing to do with the ongoing story, which actually discourages exploration. Not a bad game certainly, but the likes of Horizon: Zero Dawn have surpassed it in pretty much every department. Expand

Feral Ghoul ugly in many ways, but beneath its iffy exterior beats the heart of one helluva great RPG. Get past the graphics deficiency, and the sheer thrill of Fallout 4’s combat, crafting options, and exploring will hold your attention for months. [January 2015, p64]

Fallout 4 leans to the Shooting side of things. It strips down the gameplay from the actual RPG elements and offers a meta-nuclaer shooting gallery which of course keep its charm and gameplay wealth but also feels a little too friendly for the new comers. The Base builder mode is unnecessary, boring and irritating. Unfortunately, overall, there are no steps forward for this Nuclear Holocaust Behemoth of the video games industry. Only steps sideways.
