I randomly checked 10 profiles of reviewers who gave Fallout 4 zero ranting and, surprise surprise, 8 out of them have not reviewed anything else than Fallout 4 ever. It is not only Fallout's problem, as lots of games get this kind of treatment, but Fallout is one of those games, who especially don't deserve that. So, since this is not a perfect, but still one of the best games I've ever played, I'm bloating my score to 10. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is definitely going to be game of the year with a large open world, a large variety of perks, weapons, armor, and so much more.

A Dead Land: The game excels when it comes to its open world. Lots of enemies, new ways explore the world, and it's been reported that Fallout 4's map size is 11 minutes long vertically. And trust me it's large. The game looks gorgeous with a new creation engine. Some people say it isn't graphically up to date but you have to admit, it is a giant leap from Fallout New Vegas (2010). Plus with lots of new radio stations and lots of side quests in which other companions could possibly react towards the actions of these side missions and some may interest you. You can also create your own settlement that you have to keep resourced, defended, and a simple place to let settlers rest and go on with their business.

200-Life Crysis: The game takes place a few minutes or hours "depending how long you create your character" before the bombs have dropped. So you soon enter Vault 111 where a freak experiment goes horribly wrong. Since your 200 year cryogenic stasis, takes you deep into the future in where you have to find your son Shaun who has been kidnapped by the institute a isis like group who kidnaps survivors of the commonwealth. So it is your job to take him back.

Guns n' more bullets: Shooting is more playable. V.A.T.S. is still a thing in this Fallout installment but shooting a gun feels more shooty than your average Fallout game. Your guns no longer break so you can shoot with letting it break but it looses a more survival focused aspect but I didn't like survival focused aspects anyway. You can also customize your amazing little guy into a F***ing beast, with re-naming it, adding new weapon mods that are available to all weapons. Legendary enemies drop legendary loot and it is either amazing or surprising. You can also choose when you want to get a critical strike on an enemy or not. It you get enough hits on enemies, you will build up a bar that will fill up and create an execution command and vats no longer pause the game it will slow it down the game leaving vulnerable to an easy but cheap death, so act fast.

The Uglies returned: Enemies look more disgusting and more terrifying than ever before. With new ones such as bloodbugs and synths. Oh and if you hate deathclaws they're back and deadlier than ever. Enemies with a star next to them represent Legendary enemies. Enemies featured with a skull next to them, f***ing run. You can guess who is the first is to encounter.

Packin' a punch: The amount of base perks built in to the game are over 70 but go a little deeper and you will find over 200 perks. How, they are counted a mini perks to a perk. Let that sync in to your head before moving on. Bobbleheads make a return but a little more impactful than Fallout 3. A little hint the perception bobblehead is the first to be found usually.

The game runs at 1080p, 30fps or so I've heard. Smooth for the most part but sometimes dips but no where below 20fps. Lowest: 26fps that I have seen. Also mods are on PlayStation 4 now. WOOHOO!

Environments: Fallout 4 has the best environmental detail of any video game as of today. Hundreds of incredibly detailed locations can be found, Any person who says this game is unfinished or lacking a lot of content are autistic and deserve to stay off this website. This is not a perfect game but it is very very close. Maybe updates or DLC will add the features i was looking forward to this game but this game deserves a solid 10/10. Its quite buggy frame dropping and the loading screen between buildings is so weird (what happened there guys? is it the lights? I believe is the lights) But still in the same advance level as the Witcher (where you can truly stop playing...) This is a great game.

Realistically it prob deserves an 8 or 9 but i rated it higher to compensate for all the ridiculously low scores the haters are giving

I see this game as almost like an rpg/fps hybrid. If you enjoy both you will prob enjoy this game. But if you are super hardcore about your rpgs then you may not enjoy it as much as some of the other fallout games. Ive always played games more for the adventure and exploration then for story and characters. If you want quality writing, story and characters read GOT. If you want to have fun shooting up baddies while exploring a beautiful exciting world then play fallout 4.

I don't care if you're saving up for something else - you NEED this game. This review isn't even required, but I'm going to do it for the uninformed. Let's look into things a little more closely, shall we?

    A:Music/Sounds

The music and sounds in a fallout game never disappoints. It really brings back the old classic songs that everyone loves, while mixing in stunning and beautiful background music. The sounds of swinging a baseball bat, hitting something in the environment - heck, even footsteps are great to hear in this game. They did not disappoint in this aspect. The music is not as good as some games that I have seen and I really didn't notice it much, but that is probably because of just how well it mixes in with the gameplay.

9/10 WITH my Thumbs Up of Approval

    B: Graphics

I don't care what anyone else says about the graphics. Don't let their slander sway your opinion on this game. The graphics are superb, have you even taken one good look at the environment? Seriously, the improvement in this game from Fallout 3 and New Vegas is incredible. Sure, there was a 7 year gap between the two but who cares? Who cares if Dogmeat has flat textures on his body? His face doesn't! There are so many things in this game that you can really take in and appreciate. Graphics, are definitely one of them. When the Lone Wanderer interacts with his Pip-Boy, you can really see the dirt in his thumbs. Fantastic graphics, in my opinion.

    9/10

    C: Gameplay

If I was to say everything about the gameplay in this one review, it would take literally hours of our time. So I'm going to skip ahead to the major parts. Running around and exploring is great in this game. Seeing all of the different sights, landmarks and cities are a major highlight of the game. You'll be walking around peacefully for one second, then BOOM! You get attacked by raiders. You might look up in the sky and think of the amazing weather then BOOM! Some weird radiation storm occurs and then you need to get into shelter to shield yourself. The gunfights in this game are great, and you enjoy having them. Watching people get knocked back from your baseball bat blows is satisfying, and you can just sit back and watch the enemies TRY to hurt you while you're listening to the radio in your power armour. One of the newest and greatest additions to this game is making your own settlement. Find a good plot of land, scrap the random pieces of land around and then build with your materials. You can build huge bases, turrets, stores, farms, skyscrapers and even have people join you. In Fallout 3, I had trouble finding a town that had everything that I needed to survive. In Fallout 4, you BUILD the town that has everything for you to survive. As you build and your land becomes more valuable, Raiders will come and attack you. So, you need to set up Guard Towers, Turrets and Traps to survive. This feature of the game is so incredibly fun, and I have poured 7 hours into building ALONE. The freedom in this game is massive. You find someone who you believe is nice to be around, but has a nice gun? Kill him if you want. Become friends with him if you want. Rob him if you want. Marry him if you want. Become enemies with him if you want. I haven't gone into a lot of aspects of gameplay in this game, but trust me. You won't be disappointed with this. People complain about FPS drops on the PS4 version and frequent crashes, but with my brother and I's combined playtime of around 18 hours, we have not experienced one crash. There are FPS drops, but not as bad as everyone else puts them at. Trust me, you'll love it.

10/10 WITH my Thumbs Up of Approval

    D: Story

What story? You make up your own story in this game. That is what makes it so great. Alright, there is a main plot, so I guess I'll tell you that without going into spoiler territory. A Nuclear War has turned the world into a barren wasteland, but you start the game before this happens. You start out as a veteran in the war, and because of this - you have been preselected to enter a vault that will protect you, your wife and your child when this happens. Nuclear bombs start being dropped where you live, so you enter the vault. When you enter the vault, you get frozen for 200 whole years - you then emerge as the lone survivor of Vault 111, in search of your infant child who was kidnapped. Not going to go any further than that. From that point onwards, you make your own story (And if you want, follow the main story) You can become a hero, raider, outlaw, serial killer, thief, mayor, lone wanderer, explorer or a trader. There's more than that, but I can't get into them right now.

10/10 WITH my Thumbs Up of Approval

Okay, now for the final verdict. I can't get into any more than this at risk of hitting the character limit. So, my final verdict for Fallout 4 is...

the game mechanics has been improved along with the perks and leveling up ,without changing a lot of the main core that we loved.
i am not going to discuss the graphics cause it is perfect for this game , the only downsides are you canny have more than one companion ( like dog meat and another person) and glitches.
in a few words my review is : more of the same you loved but with great improvements

(Will probably edit when having played a more but this is what i have to say after about a few hours in.)

Don't get affected by metascores and reviews, this is a game you have to experiment if you are a fan!
New players might not understand the world, the quests, the characters, the gameplay or the graphics.
I say this, if you are not a fan of fallout, go and play something else, this game isn't for you.
It's based of old school ideas and mechanics brought by the devs that accompany this incredible universe.
It is dedicated to the old school players fan of the series.
If you are indeed a true fallout and Bethesda fan. By this game now!

I was so excited and scared. Now i can safely say i am at peace.
This game brought all i hoped for and even greater elements i didn't expect.
I personally haven't gotten one bug, you could argue npc stutter and character animations are not that great. But this is a compromise Bethesda makes, because no game, to this day, can beat the freedom of choice, exploration, character advancement and customization quite like Bethesda does.
They have not bowed down too public opinion. They have proudly stood for their name and i support it 100%.

The game looks beautiful, the world looks amazingly well handcrafted. Different weather and atmospheres changes ( You have epic fallout storms, getting irradiated from them). The overall feel gives you the chills of the wasteland. Viusally a much closer adaptations of the old school fallout and even the soundtrack is spot on. Really captures the vibe.

The crafting is a superb element, adding countless hours of sandboxing in the game, and even almost feeling like a trus survival wasteland game. Watching your radiation, building shelter.. Scraping and crafting. It's excellent.
Charater and creatures animations are much smother, feel real and present. (Deathclaws, supermutants, ghouls, all freaky as hell!!)
    sound effect are then ever.
And my god, that voice acting!! (Major improvement from past titles!!)

For me, as a fallout fanatic. A long time Bethesda regular, i give this game a 10/10.
Of course if you are new and not familiar with Bethesda, you will probably not agree with this rating...

But you fans out there, TODD HOWARD DID IT AGAIN!!

The combat is improved, smooth and a lot of fun. Those who keep comparing FO4 to Witcher 3 seem off base. I put a tremendous amount of time into W3 and, while that game is beautiful, cinematic, great story and great fun to play, the character movement is wonky and the combat is too loose, imprecise and clunky... love that game but just sayin'...

Highly recommend FO4, there is indeed BANG for your bucks. While not absolutely perfect, it is close enough to warrant a 9.5 score. I'm scoring it a 10 to mitigate the loser lying trolls. Happy gaming!

The story was about as sound as any previous Bethesda game in the last decade, and their changes to dialogue didn't seem to make it worse for wear. The leveling system has improved drastically, as their is no level cap and the perk system has a new style. In the older games, weapon customization wasn't exactly a huge part of the game, but in Fallout 4, that is one of the main components. The crafting system is easy to use and gives you a sense of individuality when you name your own weapon and make it your own. Building settlements is really fun, but sometimes it can be a little buggy. As for the mood and atmosphere, it replicates Fallout 3's and makes this game have the same classic Bethesda style. With a Bethesda game, bugs are to be expected, but in this game, I have encountered little to none other than some speech glitches and one weird glitch where I launched into the sky and died. What I think could have been done better is what everyone else has already mentioned: the main story. There is nothing ground breaking about it, nor is it delivered in such a way that you want to relate to or even help the main character. But that's not even one of the main draws of this game. The best part of this game is the main reason everyone should have bought it for. The exploration. That's why Bethesda markets their product as an open world rpg. If it was marketed as a deep story driven emotional experience then yes, everyone should be mad. But don't complain that it doesn't have the story quality of say Chrono Trigger, or Metal Gear.

As for the people saying it's just an updated version of fallout 3. What were you expecting? Fallout is Fallout is Fallout. You knew what you were paying for when you did.

Special is way better and the perk tree is top notch. There is FPS drop sometimes (I've yet to have it last longer that 1-2 seconds at a time). The graphics are great for PS4. If you can't take the graphics, why are you even playing a console? Get a computer. It will ALWAYS be the best graphical version. You don't have to go to town after every instance to repair your guns and armor...I can't even believe people are griping about that. Yes, there is building in this game. It's not vital as far as I can tell...just something a little extra. I heard someone complain the wasteland doesn't feel ALIVE. Ummm..it's a freaking wasteland? What are you expecting?

Anyway, so since everyone is playing the game (just check twitch and see the numbers for yourself) it leaves the salty trolls here on Metacritic all by themselves. This was a triple A release and look how many people have taken the time to even rate it on here. The community is dying and only you are left...ironically killing it faster.

Long story short, is this game the best thing since sliced bread? Not even. Why would you even be looking for that kind of thing in a video game? Is it a great game? Yes.

This game has been out for about 26 hours now. This is a game that has over 400 hours of content. The only people who have actually had a chance to play the game enough to write a credible review are the critics.

I would like to address the "complaints" in most reviews.

    1. "This is a simplified, dumbed down version of Fallout 3". Oh really? I wasn't aware that Fallout 3 had incredibly deep weapon crafting systems, scavenging, house building, farming, and settlements. It has everything Fallout 3 had and MUCH more.

    2. "The graphics are bad". Nope, the faces look bad. That's it. The world, environments, and atmosphere are absolutely breathtaking. The fact that they made such a large world have so much detail is an incredible accomplishment. It should also be noted that Bethesda started working on this game in 2009. The faces are 5/10. The rest of the graphics are 9/10.

3."This isn't an RPG". Really? That's weird. I've never seen a game with multiple individual item characteristics such as damage, damage resistance, weight, rate of fire and whatnot that also includes a deep leveling system with tons of perks, no level cap, and HUNDREDS of quests that WASN'T AN RPG. Absolutely absurd.

I've played this game for about 4 hours and I absolutely love it so far. These complaints are ridiculous. I will review again when I am deeper into it.

For now, this 10/10 is a small attempt at offsetting some of the unnecessarily bad reviews.

Your choices have impact on the story, crafting, weapon modification, the armor system .. all this is way better than before (there are more improvements but i dont want to turn this into a novel). 9.5/10

Forgot Final Fantasy VII and The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, this is the greatest game ever made. The graphics are amazingly beautiful, the story and quests are fantastic and the gameplay is perfect. No game will ever be better than this one. This is the pinnacle of video games.

Sure, the facial animations are last-gen, the dialogue mechanism is stilted/annoying, but who cares… game-play is engrossing, environment is consistent and above all beautiful… I keep discovering new stuff.

Having a set character with a voice is really an improvement for the FPS versions of Fallout. Now there is a sense of purpose and ego. The main quest is kind of dry but it is interesting to say the least. All in all, this is a great game... It is a masterpiece. The side/ miscellaneous quests have been interesting so far and the game DOES contain RPG elements, they are just more subtle in this game than they were in fallout 3. The settlement builder is very vast (I think there are upwards of thirty locations you can build, that heard about so far, forgive me if I'm wrong) however if that is something that you don't like then you don't have to do it at all. If you are a fan of the series then you should love this game (unless you actively go out looking for problems with the game/ nitpick). I haven't faced on serious glitches or frame rate issues so I can't comment on that unfortunately. The game is as good if not better than the witcher 3 as Fallout 4 has a game that focuses more on player freedom and exploration, whereas the Witcher 3 focuses on character relationships (which Fallout 4 has improved upon massively as well) and a more story focused RPG. However unlike the Witcher 3 I think I'll be replaying Fallout 4 for many years to come and it's only going to get better as the developers will only making the experience better with free updates and dlc that will be worth paying for, unlike many dlc that is available nowadays. FO4 tells its story(ies) in a different manner and if you can't appreciate it or right out can't get it, you should not play it. The cinema in your head is always required in FO4 so you can make up the story the environment tells you and this is exactly what I personally are looking for. I'm over saturated with Hollywood style staging ala Bioware and want my own thought to roam free as my character does in a sandbox. The other point is regarding the graphic issues some report or the right out "ugliness"... I think you just got spoiled by Skyrim's modding community which enhanced it so much its probably looking 10 times better then FO4 right now on some systems, however to have a clear view on it and its improvements, please install it in vanilla state and check it out again (same goes for FO3/FO NV) and you will see that there were much improvements. And for the people stating the game is not running smoothly, my system is not high end by any means anymore (it was 5 years ago) FO automatically set it to ultra settings and its running smoother then my modded Skyrim (250+ mods). before spreading hate, please check if you fulfil the minimum/recommended requirements and also make sure you are running latest drivers/FW on your system. An SSD would also help great times probably.

Fallout 4 falls (tee-hee) in line perfectly with Fallout 3 and New Vegas. It offers a deep, deep world filled with interesting characters to meet and buildings to explore.

The people comparing Fallout 4 to Witcher 3 know exactly zero about game design or what it takes to make a world this in-depth. NO ONE makes RPG's like Bethesda, for better or worse. There are literally thousands of items littered throughout the world that you can pick up and interact with. And nearly every single one of those items matter since you can craft weapons, bases, and armor. Bethesda's engine maybe old and broken, but it's kind of incredible that it can keep track of all the intricate things your character can do. Want to collect all the lunchbox's and dead bodies strewn about the waste and store them in your house? You can! Why? Heck if I know! It's just something that's weirdly possible in Fallout/Elder Scroll games.

It's impossible to compare Fallout 4 to other open world RPG's since Fallout (and by extension all of Bethesda's RPG's) is all about exploration. It's about letting you interact with the smallest of objects and experiencing dozens of interesting random encounters. So of course games like the Witcher 3 (which is laser focused) is going to look and run better.

HOWEVER! All that said, I still find it inexcusable to release a game this buggy. Yes, yes I know that we should be used to Bethesda's games being this bad on release, but frankly that's a load of crap. They claim this game was in development for over 4 years...how the hell is it possible to STILL release a game this broken after so many years?!

Finally, I want to address the people that say New Vegas was better and that they wished Obsidian developed this instead. Obsidian is one of my favorite game developers bar-none. They are experts at taking existing properties and just making them BETTER! But you got to take off the rose tinted glasses my friends. Obsidian has always released broken games. Am I the only person here that remembers the release of KotoR II and New Vegas? NV was damn near unplayable on release. It crashed constantly and required multiple patches. And the combat in NV was so much worse. What we're all remembering about New Vegas is the story and the characters. These are the things Obsidian excel at. To say Obsidian could have made a better Fallout 4 is asinine.

After about 50 hours played, and Jeebus knows how many more to go, I think it's safe to say this is my favorite Fallout game. I LOVE the combat, weapon modding, and companions you meet (companions are actually useful for the first time). Still...I wouldn't blame you if you waited a few months for patches to iron out the bugs.

I haven't had a single game breaking bug crop up yet in 15 hours of play and aside from a rad scorpion getting tossed into the sky 15 ft when trying to pop out of the ground nothing else too wonky has happened.

Everyone whining about graphics is doing just that they are a big improvement over the other fallout titles and while it might not be "next gen" I'm happy with it. I'd rather have the huge open world that I'm currently playing in then have it look "next gen".

Story hasn't been the biggest draw for me yet but that's cause I'm all kinds of ADD over the side quests. And while I will get on with the story I'm having way too much fun exploring the wastes at this time.

Also the shooting I love the improvements they made to the system using look down sights is standard for any FPS now a days but I feel they implemented it well and it adds a great amount of "Oh hell, oh hell!" as your starting down a tactical sight shooting at Blood bugs trying to drink your blood.

While my score is is personal preference I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys this type of game. And I've had a chance to speak to several co workers who have played and they have been having a blast as well.

The settlement building alone is deserving of a very high score its a lot of fun and I personally have lost probably 15 hours just building and enjoyed every second of it!!!!!! The gun play is also exceptional and very smooth. I prefer the new V.A.T.S system over the old. The loot is well rewarding and the modifications you can make to your guns and armor are very in depth. The power armor is also great. It allows you to fight creatures like behemoths or death claws that might be to hard for you at your specific level and kill them to reap the rewards. I honestly think this game made some great improvements over fallout 3 and new Vegas and I think it is worthy of a 9/10 easy. I also think it is a serious goty contender. And the answer to that question is a big fat yes. Fallout 4 delivers serves to deliver the same experience as fallout 3- and that is 100% fine.

COD delivers the same general game with a few updates yearly. Assassins creed, madden, GTA, Farcry, Halo, and all other major franchises do the same thing. They find a formula and they stick to it. Bethesda has simply done that with Fallout 4.

That being said the upgrades are nice. The combat is miles ahead of older entries, the base building is fun and unique, the world is a bit smaller but with much more to do, the weapons and armors are better than ever, the power armor is sick, the new core systems work well, and the end of weapon condition is great too. Besides those things it is the same Fallout we love and to all the complainers- go play COD.... It is where you belong.

I really don't understand why this game is getting so much hate. Fallout 4 is, by far, the best Fallout! Bethesda is one of the best at making open-world games and this shows in this post-apocalyptic world. So many mechanics have been changed for the better that really make this game amazing and I want to tell you why I love this game.

    Gameplay:
Before I say anything else about this game, I want to talk about the improved shooting mechanics because they make this game amazing! I found it really hard to get immersed into older Fallout games because the only way to hit you're target was with VATS! I find it astonishing that people are angry about this new addition. This was a problem that was holding back Fallout and I'm happy that it's finally been changed. Don't listen to the people saying that this makes Fallout less of an RPG because if anything, it takes a bold step in a direction that most RPG's haven't taken.

The dialogue system in Fallout 4 is nothing to write home about. You only get four options and most of them are pointless. I was really expecting more from Bethesda on this front as it was so heavily advertised. This is one of the only parts of the game I wished was like earlier Fallout's. I really wanted to be my own character and I didn't really feel that with the dialogue mechanics here. They in no way make the game less fun to play but they are quite a disappointment and Bethesda is capable of more.

Now my favourite part of the entire game, the base building. I can't even explain how many hours I've spent making my own bases. The only reason I take every mission I can is so I can loot everyones body and steal everything I find. Finding useless junk now is more of a reward than a hinderance! There is no lacking of features when creating your own home. I was able to create a four story home, complete with a windmill, defensive structures and even a mancave! There are some mechanics that need to be changed but they are not gamebraking. On the topic of customization, customizing power armour, weapons and armour is amazing. It's so deep and complex you will be amazed by it! You will probably spend lots of time debating what attachments to pick out of the big barrel of choices. To go even deeper into this, you can pick certain perks to have the ability to go deeper into customization. There is no lacking of customization here and I'm hoping to see this in every open world game.

    Perk System:
This should be in gameplay but the perk system needs it's own paragraph. I'll keep it short but just know that the perk system is better than almost any other RPG game I've played! It just feels right. You have the option between you're S.P.E.C.I.A.L perks (Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, Luck) or other perks that unlock based on how many points you poured into each S.P.E.C.I.A.L category. When you pick a perk, it has a noticeable difference right away which makes the entire system very rewarding. In conclusion, it's an awesome system!

    Graphics:
While the graphics aren't Last of Us quality they are pretty good for such an expansive game. I don't understand why the game is getting so much flak for something that isn't a big deal. The game looks amazing though, not in it's graphics, but in everything from colour palette, the skybox and even the choice of how buildings and debris look. I now know why I found it so hard to enjoy other Fallout games and it's defiantly the graphics. Instead of being surrounded by grey and brown and having a brown sky, you instead have a beautiful blue sky when you emerge from the vault. It was defiantly a good choice and I hope it stays this way.

    Pros:
    Base Building
    Armour, Weapon, Power Armour Customization
    Gunplay Mechanics
    Aesthetic
    Perk System

    Cons:
    Dialogue Mechanic
    Graphics

    Conclusion:
There is no reason to not buy this game. This is the Fallout game we have all been waiting for. You will spend so much time delving into this expansive open world. Definitely Game of the Year material!

And the music is amazing! Search up "Fallout 4 Main Theme" on YouTube!

Personally, I found this game amazing. Currently have around 30 hours since release day on November 10th, and I can't be more satisfied. Game continues the motif that war never changes in a good way.

The vast majority of complaints I see here are about graphics, or the dialogue system, or how it is a step backward for the Fallout series, or even performance or bugs. I actually believe this game to be beyond beautiful in terms of substance and graphics.
-The graphics themselves are fine, with good quality textures and a nice theme. I think people like to say the graphics are bad because they see a lot of gray, but in reality that is just a feature that defines the wasteland. For those that feel that the graphics are previous gen, go back and look at Skyrim's and then reassess your life. Besides, if you're playing a game for the graphics, you aren't playing the game for the right reason.
-The dialogue system has at times been annoying, but any complaints I have with it or trivial. For the most part it does its job just as well as the old system Bethesda used in the old Fallout's and Skyrim.
-As for performance related issues and bugs, I don't see where all the hate is coming from. My experience has been great, with my game maintaining a consistent 30 fps in the most intense fire fights. I have noticed minor split second freezes after returning to the Commonwealth from a building or some odd, but never from just wandering the wasteland. From what I've read up on, updating your PS4 system could potentially help with this, or it could be a problem more rooted in the specific model of PS4 you own. As far as bugs go, honestly what did you expect? It's a Bethesda game and it's so massive that its bound to have kinks in it's pipes. Bethesda will have these fixed in no time. (I should note that most of the bugs I have encountered have been small graphical glitches; nothing gamebreaking)

To wrap this up, I would like to mention some things that I found exceptional. Particularly, the atmosphere of the wasteland and how amazing it is. I won't elaborate on it too much as I would encourage you to try it for yourself while just walking around in game, but I can say it does a great job. Finally, the other thing, is that the map size is every bit as big as other titles, such as Skyrim. It may not look large, but it is, and it has every bit as much detail put into it as Skyrim, if not more.

Conclusion: Amazing game. Would recommend to anyone who is willing to sit down and take in a story that requires more than the memory of some less creature to understand.
Result: Proud retainer of said game and will spend many, many, many more hours in it.

I don't know why everybody is disappointed in this game. This was an AMAZING game, and nobody expected it to be THAT good. I also like the way they know your name when you create one!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. There are a lot of trolls in this page, the game is great and catches perfectly well the atmosphere of the Fallout universe. People think this is a call of duty and other people think it's a witcher, but no is a Fallout. There are things that I would change but it's a great game. I rate it a 8,7 or 9, but I put a 10 because it's unfair the 0 of some ratings.

These negative reviews are literally armies of trolls from rival RPG fanbases. There's a whole developing story about it. Don't believe them for a second. They've probably never even played the game.

The graphics are FAR better than any other Elder Scrolls/Fallout game, don't even try to argue that. The faces don't look great, but it's easy to look past.

This is a fantastic, deep RPG. Ignore the fake troll reviews. IGN doesn't just hand out 9.5's like candy. Go read the IGN review. It actually has depth and makes sense.

    Play this game. It's amazing.

I only use one method to judge a game. It has never failed me. I ask myself two questions.

    1. Do I stay up too late playing the game? 2. Did I want to call work and say I was sick to stay home and play the game? If the answer is yes to both then it is a success. I don't really fancy rating systems so I'll give it a 10. I don't see how people are disappointed in the graphics.

I don't see how people are disappointed in the graphics. I don't compare Fallout games to other games, I just compare them to their predecessors. The graphics are much better then previous versions. The character creation had far more options and I was happy with the way my toon turned out. As a gamer who's first "console" was an Atari 800, minor bugs, fps, that kind of stuff doesn't factor in when I judge a game.

Basically if you liked Fallout and spent hundreds of hours on the previous versions then buy this game, it's definitely worth the purchase even if it doesn't add much of anything new. For me a new place to play in the Wastelands was worth the 80.00.

I hope you all know that the gaphics in fallout 4 are NOT supposed to be top noch as everyone expects. It is supposed to embrace the 50's esc layout of the games previous predecessors. It takes a true fallout fan to recognize what an unbelievable game this is. Fallout 4 brings to the table a whole new era of next gen open world gaming. Perfect 10/10

A strong return for the franchise, boasting incredible customisation, a fascinating world and brutal yet brainy shooting, slightly tarnished by lacklustre AI and tedious inventory management. [Christmas 2015, p.88]

Feral Ghoul ugly in many ways, but beneath its iffy exterior beats the heart of one helluva great RPG. Get past the graphics deficiency, and the sheer thrill of Fallout 4’s combat, crafting options, and exploring will hold your attention for months. [January 2015, p64]

Fallout 4 leans to the Shooting side of things. It strips down the gameplay from the actual RPG elements and offers a meta-nuclaer shooting gallery which of course keep its charm and gameplay wealth but also feels a little too friendly for the new comers. The Base builder mode is unnecessary, boring and irritating. Unfortunately, overall, there are no steps forward for this Nuclear Holocaust Behemoth of the video games industry. Only steps sideways.
