    So after playing Detroit Become Human all the way through for the fourth time I can say that this game is probably one of the best worst written story driven RPG's of all time. Considering that I am writing this review almost one year after the game's initial release, I hope that readers acknowledge that I have a great deal of affection and love for Detroit Become Human. The idea aboutSo after playing Detroit Become Human all the way through for the fourth time I can say that this game is probably one of the best worst written story driven RPG's of all time. Considering that I am writing this review almost one year after the game's initial release, I hope that readers acknowledge that I have a great deal of affection and love for Detroit Become Human. The idea about androids developing free will and rising up against humanity for me is awesome. With Kara and Connor (my favourite) storylines, you get to explore moral concepts like what does it mean to be a living being or can an android build real relationships with humans. The game grants you the flexibility to make your own moral choices about these issues which I very much appreciated.

    What I hate about this game is everything that follows;
    The game never addresses the legitimate concerns of Androids developing free will and attacking their creators. In almost every encounter with a deviant, you are told how they were 'forced' to murder someone with their justification ranging from acceptable to **** ridiculous. (In my first initial play-through, my Markus ends up killing a bunch of people yet somehow I still managed to have an indifferent public opinion on Androids). This gets even worse when characters you begin to care about stop acting reasonable just so that the plot can progress. (I kill the cops in my play-through with Markus and Hank still wants to stop Connor from killing him because he "was wrong about deviants"). Androids are smarter than humans, they are more powerful, more efficient, etc. These concerns never get addressed in any storyline and this drives me insane. Also, sometimes the games response to my actions do not make sense. There is one point in the story where you are Connor and you're hunting down two deviant strippers. The couple is trying to escape (and also arguably trying to kill you and Hank). The moment you gain the upper hand and take the option to kill them, you get chastised for it by Hank as if they weren't trying to drive a screwdriver into your head. There are choices in this game that are very much situational and if you step out of line from a clear consistent pattern of behaviour when making decisions, your story and the characters in them will stop making sense.

    Finally, Markus's story is just poorly written. His reason for becoming deviant is terrible (hey, this guy keeps pushing, thats not okay...rebel against humans, slavery is bad!) And when he arrives at the deviant hideout, he automatically becomes their leader. I guess maybe because he just looks like your typical protagonist. You can murder a large number of humans in his storyline and still have people love you so long as if you continue to make the pacifist decisions in regards to everything else.

    So, in the end I enjoyed Detroit Become Human. There are gaps of logical with everyone's storyline, (Kara the least, Markus the most) but all are still serviceable and can keep you entertained. I wish this game offered more in terms of quality in story writing but what you get is good enough to get you through until the end.    … Expand

    fine! very exciting, but there are boring missions, very boring .. minus point for a couple of boring missions and for not skipping scenes, which makes it difficult to knock out platinum .. and so, the lightest platinum

    If you are into the narrative story you will certainly get in this game. Your choices and decision certainly impact the end.
    However, there is not much of gameplay here. you will press buttons and will see the story develop

    Detroit is definitely worth experiencing. It has an engaging story with great performances by the cast. The game is the successful evolution of the game mechanics from Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls.

    I went into this without much expectation, turns out its one of the best Playstation Exclusive Games with a great story, very very good.

The three stories are all pretty silly and melodramatic, nothingSo corny and bad that it's good! Generic angry cops that hate their job, a crazy art collector with a burnout son and a drugged up angst-y lonely man with abusive and rape-y tenancies are some of the supporting characters you will encounter in this "game".

    Oh and when you mom told you to clean the house and wash the dishes, you didn't do it did you? You were to busy doing that exact same thing in-game by doing hadouken motions with the right stick next to trash bins, weren't you?    … Expand

    So i done this game (thanks to ps+), and what i can say its interesting story about 3 different androids.All of them have their own troubles that they must to beat. And all time what i played i empathised to characters and their adventures.     What an amazing game! I was just AMAZED at how masterful the storytelling, characters, narrative and the branching stories were! I loved Kara, Connor and Markus, especially Kara. This is more than just a game, this is our future. This is the 1st time a game that made me think about our lives, the future, the future of AI, consciousness, what makes us human and things of that nature, I'veWhat an amazing game!     The graphics are the best I've ever seen in any game, the character models are the most detailed I've ever seen in any game as well.

    So the game is amazingly beautiful, easy to play for everybody including non gamers, the story is good and the universe is complex and well crafted with a classic scifi story about futuristic IA. But it's at its    Quantic Dream is following its own way in the video game industry, trying to perfect a difficult gender: the cinematic game. And they are a league on their own with Detroit.

    So the game is amazingly beautiful, easy to play for everybody including non gamers, the story is good and the universe is complex and well crafted with a classic scifi story about futuristic IA. But it's at its core, the construction of the game, the multiple stories, the different endings, that it shines. "Live your own story", how many times we read that on video game boxes. But here promises are fulfilled: your choices will have consequences. But don't worry, every choice is ok and will lead to different outcomes: you will live a great adventure.

    Doing this game represents an incredible amount of work for the studio and it pays. This game is a 10/10, the best of its kind.    … Expand

    Artificial intelligence is one of my favorite subjects so a huge plus for this game in terms of my opinion. However a awesome job done by QD should be recognized by all - amazing graphics and vast storyline, plus beautiful BGM. Yes storyline can do better under a higher standard, I look forward to more games like this.

    If you’re a gamer, like if you need a gameplay this is not your game, but if you’re more movie person this game is exactly for you, movie and game mix together i loved that it’s visual experience and gamemakers did their job carefully creating one of the best emotional story in game history, I enjoyed the game

    Not quite sure why this game got some hate. I found the game very enjoyable. The plot was really nice to get into and the decision trees show how many different scenarios there are for the overall story. The graphics are also very good. I first fell in love with aqua tic Dream games when Heavy Rain was released and didn’t imagine that any of their games could top Heavy Rain, but Detroit: Become Human surpassed Heavy Rain in every possible way. The storyline following all characters is so beautifullyDetroit: Become Human is 100% my favorite game that I have ever experienced. And this game is just that... an EXPERIENCE. I first fell in love with aqua tic Dream games when Heavy Rain was released and didn’t imagine that any of their games could top Heavy Rain, but Detroit: Become Human surpassed Heavy Rain in every possible way. The storyline following all characters is so beautifully played out, the graphics are phenomenal, and it really does give you all of the feels. I got goosebumps multiple times throughout the game, I laughed, and I cried. I finished my first play through in one day and it took me about 10.5 hours, but I didn't aim to find all possible choices to choose from, so I’d say it can probably be a longer game if you do.     I've played this after 13 Sentinels which is masterpiece in visual storytelling. Playing this afterwards just made all the storytelling flaws more apparent. I didn't explore all possible outcomes - after playing it once and getting mostly positive ending I've was fed up with how silly the game was. It has very naive writing but takes itself too seriously. It prefaces everything saying it'sI've played this after 13 Sentinels which is masterpiece in visual storytelling. It has very naive writing but takes itself too seriously. It prefaces everything saying it's not just a story - it's our future. If it was just some wild fantasy that doesn't really take itself too seriously it would be easier to swallow.

    They haven't change anything about gameplay since Heavy Rain. You still trigger actions when trying to look around with camera, because the same stick is used to look around. And sometimes you want to activate an action and instead move the camera. You still get random prompts to press buttons at random times, which in theory try to emulate what the character is doing, but it never gets some understandable gameplay language. Sometimes the same action will require different buttons, sometimes it won't require any presses at all. For example there is one mechanic I really liked where androids can pre-calculate set of actions and then perform them perfectly. But in one instance you still get button prompts afterwards.

    I know games can get strong emotional response from me, but unfortunately Detroit managed to get slight one from me only once, near the end of Kara's story.

    I really liked the inclusion of flowchart, but it could be less stingy with checkpoints. You cannot save the game normally, you cannot skip dialogues, you cannot fastforward already seen scenes in any way, so exploring other paths is really boring and slow - you have to relive the same scenes almost fully just to get some minor change at one point.

    As a good point, this game had a lot less inconsistencies than Heavy Rain.    … Expand

If u want to enjoy a game that makes u to fell nice after playing, a game that u never forget about, this game is the what game that u actually need to play. I think this game deserves 10/10

    The Game was very fun to play, and the game really makes you think about what choices you need to make to keep everyone alive. I loved the playstyle of the game and how you see the perspective of 3 different androids. I also liked how you can interact with the Android on the main menu. Overall the game was really fun and is like to see more games like this.

    Detroit: Become Human absolutely floored me. I was unprepared for the emotional impact of helping a host of charismatic androids achieve their freedom. I woke up to find Detroit was free on PS4. I started playing around 6 am, and I continued playing well till about 10 pm. There's so much to say about this game but I'll be brief.

    Let yourself believe. Follow the story of these androids as their destinies unfold. It is dramatic and unspeakably heart-wrenching to experience so vividly the lives of others of another time and place. I truly felt for these characters. I was moved by their desires, their experiences, their determination. I was humbled by their hope and was devastated by their sufferings.

    Detriot: Become Human might have unknowingly bridged the gap between cinema, game, and novel. The reviews critiquing the game's writing are thorough and also examine elements that are largely unexpected of a game. The writing, the acting, and the pacing are phenomenal. There are many iconic moments in this game. From Markus' relationship with Carl, from him finding love, from Connor breaking free of his programming, from Kara, Alice, and Luther becoming a family, to the countless other possible endings. I recommend playing your first playthrough as how you believe the character would behave or react. You could also play how you believe you would act. A combination of both is also possible. Either way, be honest and focused on the story Don't eat while your playing, don't be half paying attention scrolling through Twitter, no. Treat this story the way you would treat a movie at a theater that you were dying to go see. Treat this like the first read-through of your favorite book. Treat this like the paintings and photographs hung in galleries. Be focused and attentive. Detroit: Become Human will take care of the rest.

There's a variety of ways to finish certain chapters that can effect the relationship of characters and the way the story goes, which makes you want to play it more than once. My one problem with this game is that the public opinion doesn't really matter. Even if the public opinion is good, no human would protest with the androids. It goes with an "android good, human bad" message rather than "humans can agree with their machines". It would have had a stronger impact on the ending if the police shot at the crowd and red blood was spilled.… Expand

    Eu gostei muito do estilo jogo, muitas escolhas diferentes e isso deixa o jogadores muito pensativos e curioso, eu estou zerando pela 4x e estou gostando cada vez mais. o menu do Detroit é muito bonito e inteligente e os extras sao legais como as pesquisas que sao mt real. Minha Nota para o Detroit é de 10,0e tudo os graficos sao muito lindos, o jogo é nota 10.

    Sometimes games come along where you just can not put down the controller. This is one of those games. I was hooked from the off by the gripping storyline and the characters were created so well that you feel every emotion they are going through. Some of my favourite past games have been similar in content to Detroit. The games that have you dying to know whats going to happen next.     Wooooo! What a ride! If there was a way of exceeding the 10 scale, this game is one of the few to deserve a 15. Pack tissues and have a pillow near by to punch because this is an emotional roller coaster. I don’t think i have it in me to go through the game to explore all that it has to offer. This game triggered me really bad in a way i could not see coming. I love the characters. IWooooo! What a ride!     So, word out there curious about this “game”, choose wisely. You can always come back and redo the choices if you’re not satisfied but you can not take back the emotions once you mess up. It sticks with you. I got mostly happy...ish endings on my characters except one. That one wasn’t satisfying either. I’m in the process of redoing it but then i’ve gotta go through the endings again and i’m not looking forward to all the emotions flooding back. The first wave was enough without the tsunami. Definitely worth paying full price or at least $30. I got it free and i feel guilty that i got it free. Thanks playstation plus, but i really should’ve paid for this out of pocket instead of part of my yearly subscription.    … Expand

    One playthrough, you can successfully save the Androids from extinction through peaceful means and all the main characters and their friends survive.

    In the next playthrough, you can decide to do the exact opposite, and stop the Android rebellion from saving the imprisoned Androids through their murderous ways, which results in everyone up to that point on the Deviant leader's side to die.    … Expand

This game literally astounded me with its story telling at certain points. At the beginning I was pulled in by the characters for their stories and what was going on with them, Connor, the top of the line android built to hunt his own kind, slowly turning to those he meant to hunt, Kara, an android that became a mother to a child, but most powerful of all, Markus l, someone who's story at the beginning seemed relatively small, but them you realise that this is the man to change the world.     Great game. It has a fantastic story to it, as it shows the story of Connor, Kara, and Markus becoming human, even though they were created as an android. I wish I had this game on my Xbox, however, as I messed up many of the controls with my PlayStation controller.

    However, there is one part of the story that I must complain about, as it has made me incredibly angry. When Kara, Alice, and possibly Luther get to the bus station towards the end of the game, I was searching around for tickets and found the dark walkway to the parking lot, where I met up with Rose and Adam. They took me to head across the river, but what makes me angry is that the game did not give me the option to go back, because when I crossed the river, both Kara and Luther died, leaving Alice on her own. That alone pisses me off, and both because of that and it being exclusive to PlayStation, I give it a 9/10.    … Expand

    I bought a PlayStation just for this game, I definitely ain’t rich either; that’s just how much I was invested in playing it after seeing a few youtubers playing it - Detroit become human is simply marvellous, something I’ll never forget playing & I can’t wait to see more of games like this in the future!

    For the game it is trying to be, im giving it a 9.5 out of 10. The graphics is phenomenal, the story and narrative is as good as a hollywood blockbuster movie. All of the characters are very relatable charming beautiful and in character. It is one of the most memorable games. I love this. Why not 10? Well its concepy is relatively simple. If you havent played this game it is highly recommended

    A nearly perfect game. Unless you're looking for a game with more twitch reflex action of couch co-op sort of stuff, this is the best PlayStation exclusive you can buy for the system, hands down. The story is griping, the characters believable, and the game's extremely replayable with how many different story avenues you can go down. Would love to see this world explored again in a sequel.

    I bought this game back in 2018 and only now decided to jump in it and wow, absolutely loved it. Really interesting Story and all characters are interesting and engaging. I got hooked immediately. It is not a fast paced game and it is indeed kind of playing a film more than a classic game, yet, I highly recommend it.

Every choice that you make in this game has a huge impact on everything, i’m serious, this game is so f**king amazing. The story is so great and the characters are great as well... Rating

    An amazing game with lots of choices. The storyline depends on your way of thinking and takes a lot of turns. The main characters are very interesting in their own way and let you think about our own world with our technology and AI. A really cool experience.

Between three main characters game offers great episodes variety: there areDo yourself a favor and play this game if you like interactive-movies genre like Telltale games, Life is Strange, Heavy Rain, LA Noire etc. You wouldn't be disappointed. Visuals and music are stunning, production level is through the roof on par with best TV shows, story is engaging, atmosphere is very strong. Between three main characters game offers great episodes variety: there are crime investigation scenes, action packed, slice of life, even few horror ones! And unlike Tellatale games you choices can actually impact the story.

    Obviously there are some pacing issues and plot holes but I don't know the game in the genre that delivered better result as the whole package. Both me and my wife have a blast with the game and unlocked significantly different endings. I can't wait to replay some scenes to see different story options. And the game looks beautiful on 4K HDR screen, one of the best HDR usage I ever see.

    As for the so called "professional" critics some of them seems to be blinded by personal agendas, petty grievances and inflated egos to do the job properly. Luckily people can decide for themselves what is good and what is bad. User score of 8.7, especially for such niche genre, is proving that the game is great. At least for people who can still enjoy games for what they are.

    I also recommend Until Dawn, another interactive movie game trashed by pretentious "journalists" but universally loved by real people. It is far less ambitious than Detroit but still is very enjoyable.    … Expand

    Начну с хорошего.
    Сюжет. Здесь сюжетов, скажем так, три, они идут параллельно и в конце сливаются. Структура канвы тут как во многих играх данного жанра, можно начать гробить всех героев в первые три часа игры, а можно аккуратно прожить с ними и все 35 часов. Все зависит от игрока.
    Скажу также повествование в игре очень эмоциональное.
    Герои мне очень понравились, им начинаешь сопереживать, а это главное в кино. Поэтому совсем не хочется, кого то из них терять. Мне лично больше понравилось играть за детектива Коннора. Так же уровни, даже их части, можно пройти несколько раз, выбрать понравившийся вариант и оставить его как основной.
    Кстати о кино. Из игры получился бы неплохой фильм, тем более что все роли в игре исполняют реальные актёры.
    В игре неплохая графика, а также лицевая анимация выше всех похвал (когда же Bethesda научится в своих рпг так делать).
    Теперь о грустном. В игре просто ужасная камера, будто из какого то Devil May Cryя 2001 года. Иногда просто не понятно, куда идёт персонаж, приходится всё время камеру корректировать с помощью "сканера", крайне не удобно. По той же причине персонаж то и дело затыкается, о какие то невидимые камушки или бугорки, что очень бесит особенно в уровнях на время.
    Так же мне не очень понравилась информативность вариантов ответа персонажей. Иногда персонаж говорит не то, что ты понимаешь под выбранной фразой. Благо можно перепройти уровень.
    К тому же моя консоль так разогрелась, думал что взлетит. Шум заглушал звук телевизора. Но вероятно это только у меня:).

    Im absolutely blown away by this game.I entered detroit with a sour taste in my mouth from the previous david cage games,I was preparing to trash every piece of it but found myself hooked for an entire night to finish the game.

    I'm honestly stunned at the amount of hate this game is getting because its from david cage or because of the "its not a game,its a movie" mentality. I didn't like any of the previous games david cage did, but I still feel like detroit: become human got judged depending on what came before it instead of whats in it.
    and to those saying that the "gameplay sucks" maybe you should look into a game from a genre that actually focuses on gameplay instead of its narrative    … Expand

    Menos mal que con Detroit, la cosa cambia y menos mal. Me ha recordado mucho a Heavy Rain, en muchas localizaciones, argumentos y aspectos...     I had trouble with the previous games of David Cage, but this one is a master piece to me. All the QTE are still a pain and I had to restart several chapters* but the story was very engaging and emotional to me.

    So for the story/overall experience: 10/10, the QTE: -1 = 9/10 (* I defined my own rules: don't look anything up, just play and decide like I would decide, but if the outcome    I had trouble with the previous games of David Cage, but this one is a master piece to me.     Detroit: Become Human delivers a story with a ton of possible choices, and a lot of questions for a player to bear afterward. If you like it when games make you think about them after you play them, this is the game for you. Stunning visuals and music score, make you forget about some weaker points of the game. But all in all, it is an enjoyable experience you should not miss.

While it’s commendable that Quantic Dream tried to cover hot-button issues in a big-budget video game, it works better when focused on the personal character moments than the bigger themes that don’t dig deep enough to make a meaningful impact.
