Buenos gráficos, excelentes jefes finales, buen diseño de arte y adecuada duración. Ingenioso aunque se hace repetitivo y la historia no esta bien contada. La jugabilidad es cumplidora.

First and foremost, it is one of the best shooters I have played in my life. The game-play mechanics are amazing. Everything seems to flow well when it comes down to the shooter aspects. Even though the game-play mechanics are amazing, the game lacks in story and content.

Quite frankly my favourite game of all time. Love everything about it. Never get's boring, and just when you think you might be tired of it something new comes along, and the multi-player strikes are endlessly entertaining.

With the multiplayer, it's a good game but really the fact that you need PSN to play offline is just pure stupidity, especially with the random pointless updates.

Also, the missions are repetitive the same thing happens but in a different background. You need to kill some aliens (whatever the hell the enemies in the game are.) and get to a ship and that's it. The story is ok I

The story is ok I suppose but barely.

    The presentation is also ok.

This game still has positives though,

    +Like the online obviously

    +The character customization

    +Some nice cutscenes

    +Interesting backgrounds.

But the game still disappoints for a game that uses 'Next generation first person shooter' as a slogan.

Destiny is hands down the worst game I've ever played. I deleted the game off my PS4 within a couple weeks of purchase and sent an email to Activision demanding my money back (they never responded). I was so outraged by being scammed by the marketing of this game I genuinely wanted to drive over to Blizzard/Activision offices and throw a rock through their window. The reason for all of this is simple. I paid $60 for a game that I beat in 9 hours and was left with nothing to do end game except running the same boring quests over and over again or jumping into PVP. PVP was extremely lopsided in favor of particular classes and particular weapons with no genuine healing class. The game was marketed as a sci-fi World Of Warcraft shooter with an "immersive" world to explore and rich story lines. In the year running up to the release of the game numerous articles and advertisements bombarded the pages of Game Informer and other PC gaming mags telling consumers how incredible this game was going to be. What a lie. Learned an important lesson from Destiny "Buyer Beware!" Expand

This is a awful game. don't play it. it has barely any substance and the RNG ( random number generator ) is terrible. you have to grind for days to get the equipment you want and the there should be better matchmaking, especially for MMO's like this. the entire game is horrible garbage. don't buy it. EVER!

Where humans discovered a powerful entity and used its technology giving humans the ability to perform interplanetary travel. This dream was short lived and the solar system was met with a catastrophic event. Enter the guardians set to protect what's left. The whole idea of visiting other planets in our solar system was an awesome concept and for its time the graphics picturing how these worlds would look were very detailed. But that is how far Destiny travels. The game's story line is weak and repetitive. End game is a major short fall. One of the biggest issues with the game is lack of matchmaking, a huge problem in a game that requires multiple players to beat certain missions. In one year the developers announced a sequel which really flattens the idea of this game being classed as a true MMORPG. The multiplayer is average, not great but really not that bad. Overall the game was a disappointment and even with recent patches and DLC's Destiny constantly comes undone with the lack of end game content. For the trophy hunters, the game is relatively easy to platinum with the exception of one trophy "Flawless Raider". This trophy requires a group of highly skilled players to not die a single time in a raid. Although there are guides available dependent on your own skill and abilities where you can obtain this trophy by yourself. Expand

Destiny was hyped up to be the next great thing in the gaming world. It disappointed on almost every front. First off I will say that the idea and direction they were going in was great in my opinion. The whole concept of the plot was new and invigorating, however the game simply did not deliver the world to gamers in a great way. The opening intro gets you very excited for the possibilities in the game, but then a few hours into it you realize there is hardly a story to the game. Rather there is just an overall goal: Protect the "city" that you never actually go to, but just get to see from the top of the game's social hub "The Tower." You don't even understand what your are truly protecting, and the story offers no interesting elements or twists to spice the game up. The good news is that you quickly learn it isn't the story that you play the game for. The game while advertised as a shared open world shooter and an RPG, is also in many ways an MMO, as it includes large, comprehensive raids and strikes. You can only do them once a week if you hope to get a reward however, leaving players waiting until the Tuesday "weekly reset" to do anything productive. The base game is very dry and has no depth whatsoever. The only good aspect of it is the only raid offered in the game pre add on: The Vault of Glass. It is incredibly fun, and difficult, and requires great teamwork to complete. The rest of the game however lacks in enjoyment. The multiplayer is fun if you are a Hunter with an exotic hand cannon, as Bungie has a hard time creating any balance at all without making all the weapons completely terrible. Same goes for the class specific "supers" as hunters dominated the scene with their offensive oriented supers. The DLCs have plenty of content, however that comes with a high price and little of the content in the first expansion Crota's End" was any good. The raid was a significant downgrade, as most of it could be BSed and was not complex or unique in any way. The House of Wolves brought in Prison of Elders where you fought hordes of enemies at a time plus a boss in the end in an effort to obtain terrible looking armor and useless weapons. The Trials of Osiris however were absolutely great. Every weekend this incredibly fun, challenging multiplayer mode allowed for a great competitive feature that rewarded great play with beautiful weapons and armor that you could actually use. The game is based around grinding out certain modes to obtain weapons in a random drop reward system. Meaning you do the same thing over and over every week to get a pistol. You put a lot of hours into this game, and when your character finally is a maxed out super soldier Bungie decides to release a DLC called The Taken King which makes all the things you've obtained absolutely worthless and makes everyone start from scratch. Now after this I stopped playing out of frustration so I cannot give an educated review of King's Fall. However I would caution people from playing this game as it is simply repetitive, shallow, storyless, and vanilla and offers no value, not even the graphics are impressive. Expand

After 2 years of playing I've decided to review this game. Broke it down to different parts to make it easier.

    First Person Shooter Aspect

Can't complain, it was done well. Coming from a series that spawned Halo, you know that the shooter aspect was going to be good. The controls are really responsive and give you the option to tweak the aiming speed etc. The balancing of weapons, well its a double edge sword because people will have different opinions and complaints on why their favourite gun has been nerfed and the gun they use least is OP. All I can say that it's a plus that Bungie have regular updates and monitor the usage of each gun and make changes if need be.

    RPG Aspect

Character creation is meh. 3 different species Human, Robot or Ascended Human. No difference between them apart from the type of dance emote they do. Could of gave them species perks to adapt to the players playstyle Eg. Elder Scrolls. The classes IMO are good, adopting the Hunter (ThiefRogue/DPS), Titan (Tank/Defence Support) and Warlock (Mage/Heals/Support). After the Taken King they employed another Class type to interchange them especially giving the Hunter a much needed support special.

After the Taken King Expansion, they've finally got the levelling correct. Getting good gear is still a big, long grind. The rewards on Crucible are still pathetic where 1st gets the **** gear compared to last. My friends joke around saying to play well but not come first to get good loot.

    Replayability

I'm still playing it whenever a new update comes in. A lot of players gave up on it, which I can understand. But I have a close knit of gamer friends who play just for fun as the Co Op in this game especially the Raids are second to none...apart from guess what?...the loot drops : ( (endless grinding!!!). Don't have any friends to game with? Look around for Clans, there are lots to choose from and most are very helpful.

Overall, a 6 praising the shooter component, the gear (even though its a grind to collect), Co Op and PvP. regular updates and events (the Sparrow Racing Event was a good change). I don't really play it anymore, but will jump on when my friends are on. That 10 year plan they have for this game...I don't think so.

    - 1 To most story missions that have been recycled over and over
    - 1 To the endless grind of loot (they should take pointers from Division and Borderlands)
    - 2 To the reward system on Crucible (PvP)

The constant use and abuse of the games player base by Bungie and Activision is frankly distressing to see, and I hope this does not become the standard for video games in the future. DLC and Expansions effectively invalidating existing weaponry (which has been altered with a lazy fix) and content as well as a stream of new content that adds little in the way of story or gameplay development makes Destiny an experience that is not only overwhelmingly tedious, but also puts a major dent in your wallet if you wish to continue playing the game. Questlines are repetitive and dull, whilst weapons feel like fairly generic Bungie sci-fi fare. Nothing in this game offers anything in the way of inventive design.

Whilst multiplayer combat is somewhat engaging, narrow game mode options and raids that feel all to similar prevent this game being something one can return to or put a great many hours into unless those you play with are particularly fun or interesting to be around, and if they are, for gods sake do them a favor and stop them from buying this game.

Destiny seems to make an effort to squirrel away it's lore on an external website, which is a shame because it may well be interesting enough to add some level of depth to what ultimately feels like a very 'surface-level' experience, which is to say the game evolves little beyond what you could pick up on immediately whilst watching another play. That said, the game is very pretty to look at, and the graphical quality is certainly something worth praising, despite the fact it dresses up a fairly poor game.

This graphical prowess is ill-utilised by bland, poorly structured cutscenes and environments that have better sky-boxes than they do contents. In raids you can enjoy a series of drab grey corridors and generic sci-fi industrial structures that the game tries to divert attention away from using brightly colored lasers and enemies which, unfortunately, are as unintriguing in design as they are overused. Bosses feel like larger stronger versions of base enemies. Despite efforts to improve this in recent DLCs, enemies still feel dull. It is worth mentioning, however, that the soundtrack, whilst standard Bungie fare by this point, is actually quite compelling and well written, helping to create some sense of mood which the world unfortunately fails to generate or compliment.

Combine these issues with a community comprised mainly of pre-teen to early-teenage boys who are quick to hurl insult and you end up with an uniteresting, vapid experience. Teenage fanboys are quick to jump to the games defense and label people haters, but this ultimately shows the indefensibility of the game, you cannot rebut many of the criticisms hurled at this game because they are, more often than not, accurate.

All in all, Destiny is an unintelligent, repetitive mess of a game, with solid shooting and pretty graphics being the only redeeming features of this shallow exercise in boredom. Over-hyped but ultimately sub-standard, steer clear if you value your time.

What a shame, you should only ever review a game when you have actually finished it. And that means beating the Vault of glass. The raid is very fun, and Destiny is a great cooperative experience. Unfortunately, at launch it wasn't available yet, much like today's hottest game, the Division. The reason this game only gets an 8 is the lack of story, and the long wait times recently between meaningful content. I find it unfortunate the old raids are currently fazed out. Post-update, the looting system is much more generous than it was, and that feeling when you find a legendary weapon or piece of armour is something you will want to experience.

However, the content in this release of Destiny is laughable, and the fact that Bungie and Activision will try to justify this with a season pass is a very worrying aspect for future big releases. Horrendous voice acting by that one from Game of Thrones does not help this game's cause either, even he sounds bored.

This could have been an even lower score if the Vault of Glass wasn't so enjoyable, but the fact that you can't matchmake for it and MUST gather a group of 6 is quite bizarre. 5 is an average and disappointing score, for an average and disappointing game.

But i write this review saying that you shouldn't give up hope. Destiny can be a great game and a game worth investing in. I realize alot of people have lost interest, but i would suggest to new players, give it a chance at the next DLC and to old players who left i would say. At the very least pick up destiny 2.
    Pros-
    Its a fun multiplayer experience
    Awesome Sci Fi shooter
    Awesome co-op shooter
Great story...(dont hurt me... its there... just not in the game)
    Cons-
    Limited activities to do
    Scarce DLC
    Soundeffects could use work
broken mechanics (some subclasses are just blatently more broken)
    binding functionality
Just to elaborate on 2 of those
Pro- Great Story- A lot of people would give me a lot of hate for saying this but i have to disagree because I think it goes deeper than that. Sure, if you play through the game the story is pretty bad, but i see potential in it. For what it was going to be as well as what it could be. I'm more trying to convince you that this game has potential for the future than quality now.
Con- Binding Functionality- The end game content of destiny are called raids for the newbies out there. In these raids you're probably at some point going to use LFG to find our fill slots in your raid team. Whether these people accept you or not is entirely dependent on whether or not you have certain guns that aren't truly necessary but make the raid easier. This is my personal least favorite con, not just because elitism is bunk, but because they're a little right, the guns are not just the best option, they're almost the only option. I just wish the raids let you be your own kind of guardian. I just want to carry a trusty shotgun everywhere.
That is all i hope I have instilled a little hope in the probably no one who will read this.

This game has been destroyed from it's original concept into a weak grind-fest for unrewarding nerfed weapons in a multiplayer that inherently cannot ever be balanced into a competitive scene. Which would be fine except they keep ruining the game to try and force the multiplayer to be competitive and balanced. There is almost no content in this game. You will replay the same 6 hours of missions until you want to vomit. At every single turn the game halts your progress with artificial gameplay extensions like limits on money, incredibly low drop rates for everything, and requiring ridiculously high amounts of resources for upgrades. This game takes many MMO RPG elements and puts them in a 1st person shooter, but doesn't even do the bare minimum of the required small things like, party finder, raid groups control, a competent way to pick where to start when people have started on the raid already, and the same goes for strikes also. There is no real teamwork besides don't die, there are no clever mechanics besides shoot the damage sponge, (unless you do the raid but like I said good luck even getting 5 other players that are at your skill level), level design is just wave defense non-stop. There are no real customization or re-customization options. No trading, no real path to earning specific gear it's all random, outdated engine, connection issues, no story, full of microtransactions, not to mention they ripped content out of the game to sell it back to us for twice the price so a game that was at one point complete and full was $60 and now is chopped up and nonsensical and costs $120. What a shame for a game that I hoped would be amazing but now is deleted off my hard drive. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let me preface this all by saying I love the grind and generally don't care for FPS games as I'm only decent, not stellar at them.
For people that are on the fence and thinking about getting into this game as I was a month ago do not waste the money but more importantly the time. This is my first review I've ever written and I'm 29, thats how strongly I felt about this game. The amount of time required to get any of the good stuff in the game is truly prodigious. Its the same stuff over and over and even with the fix of the massive loot drop system problems, which seemed either amateur-ish or ill intended, you get the same terrible things over and over and over. Rare engrams drop a common item 98% of the time, which really drives home the point that I'm wasting my time playing.
DO NOT LISTEN TO ANYBODY who tells you its possible to beat this game and its various challenges, or raids without a strike-team of 6, which do not provide matchmaking. I got to a light level of 291 and I still wasn't able to beat a mission that had a light level requirement of 260 that not even a friend of mine with a light level 305 and I put together could beat. All that effort would be for 5 motes of light, an item you get in lieu of xp at certain level cap, hooray.
Theres a tacked on collectibles sidequest component during strike and raid missions so being a jerk and running off is a requirement in this game, thumbs down.
The behavioral RNG thing is a factor here as well. Translation, this game requires an addictive personality to enjoy and continue playing. That's not a good thing.

People who say the graphics are great must require glasses. The lighting effects and amount of things moving around in the environment are the only thing remotely next-gen about this game. The clouds are ridiculously off theme and seems like they don't belong. Otherwise lots of loading between areas, wow; tons and tons of clipping(I have a ps4, which has the good frame rate of the systems), but sound is nice...
The derth of content means you realize the game's limitations in one hour of play. Running around and shooting stuff in the head is awesome and fun for a few days but since theres not much of a story at all with a ton of questions and lots and lots of things vaguely referenced and never fleshed out, the compulsive addicting aspect becomes requisite almost immediately.
PVP is also a requirement of the game of the game to get decent gear, no matter what I'm not ever gonna beat the 12 year olds who don't do sports or activities and thus have a ton of free time. My 30 some year old friend has played countless hours and again, has a light level only 15 or so above my own.
All in all this is completely in my humble opinion of course. What do I know but what I like and what I absolutely abhor. Obviously Destiny and all of its terrible offspring are in the latter category and should be drowned in public to the worldwide cheers of spectators that have tuned in for the demise and eventual fading of the memory of Destiny

Witcher 1-3, Mass Effects, Bioshocks, Dragon Age, Elder Scrolls, Monkey Island series, Grim Fandango, Last of Us, Uncharted etc have been my type of games. Then I tried Destiny which came with my PS4 bundle. At first I felt that it was underwhelming and incoherent as I was expecting a single player type epic story with tight narrative. I gave up on it but went back to it couple months after completing all my backlog games. And 2nd time round, i gave it a chance and made sure i committed a good number of hrs to it. And boy did i have FUN! This game is perfect for me, a working married adult with limited time for extended game sessions. This game made me reminisce of those childhood days where i gamed for fun! The last few games i finished felt like a chore, like a checklist of things to complete. It's refreshing to play a game and not having to keep up with an epic storyline and just de-stress and shoot some stuff. I mean i love games with great plot, characters and direction, but i guess ive been playing too much of those games and sometimes after a long day of work, i just wanna relax and unwind.

Destiny's shooting is perfect for consoles. Never did i feel like i wish i had a mouse and keyboard which was my main gripe with playing FPS on console (just switched to PS4 from a gaming laptop which died on me). Each weapon type feels distinct and has advantages in different situations. I love the weapon designs and just collecting Exotics and Legendaries. Looting is fun (Diablo 1-3 took up 20% of my life!) but the shooting and completing challenging missions are the essence of the Destiny experience. Especially when u play co-op with either auto matchmaking or finding people on forums to team up with. To me the Exotic or Legendary loot i get at the end is just a bonus. The euphoria of overcoming a particular tough challenge with a bunch of pple is intoxicating. And i like it that we dont have to chat or type to communicate, just some random 'dance' or 'wave' character movements. That was what put me off MMOs like world of warcraft where u have to be really involved socially. This feels bery balanced where i get to play with pple but not have to socialize beyond the occassional psn messages. Although the King's Fall raids do require more detailed communication via microphones, and thats the only thng i've yet to complete.

Story could be done much better of course and i do believe they will do a better job in the sequel. The grimoire cards (basically game lore) were annoying at first cos i thought they could be accessed in-game. But once i downloaded the Destiny app and a PDF on google for the complete grimoire collection, i realized there was a lot more to the game lore than explained in the game. This kinda impressed me and pulled me in even more. So on my 2nd character play through, I went way slower (i blazed though my first playthrough as a hunter so had no idea what the heck was going on) and listened to every dialogue, background conversation and read up every quest description. That gave the game more meat in terms of story and plot, especially after reading the complete grimoire beforehand. I wish Bungie will release a lore book in future, like Dragon Age's World of Thedas. I'd buy that.

Anyway, this is the most fun i've had in a game in a long time. And that's not been one of my benchmarks for judging a game. It used to be graphics, story/plot, or characterization that decided for me if a game was great. Destiny just blew my mind how much fun i was having and it's very refreshing. I highly recommend this to those who enjoy FPS, looking for something fun and "mindless" to squeeze in under an hour or 30min per session, and love looting. Sign me up for Destiny 2, COLLECTORS EDITION! Keep it up Bungie, have not played a Bungie game since the original Halo 1 & 2 on the original Xbox (gave up waiting on Halo series to come on PC), so this was bloody impressive!

Whether it be The Dark Below, The House of Wolves, or The Taken King, Destiny has always been struggling to find new ways to keep their players in the game and playing the game.

The mechanics of Destiny are amazing, and what keeps people playing and coming back to the game, with the best first person shooting in a game, in a very long time. However, the content itself gets very stale after repeated attempts to get the gear that you want, as the RNG system is not very forgiving, and having your actual levels based on this is horrible.

The story in Destiny has always been a topic of discussion because, there really is not one, and even recent attempts have improved it, but never brought it to the level that it needed. The real stories came from the players themselves, whether it be from accomplishments, or frustration, the community banded together and pushed the game forward, trying to make the most of it.

Was Destiny a success? Financially, of course, but as a game, it is debatable. There were great moments, and very bad ones, and overall it was more the people that made the game rather than the game. Destiny deserves a 7 if not lower, but the only thing holding it up is the mechanics. We all hope that the next Destiny will be full of more substantial content, but only time will tell.

Regarding the post story mode content, that is where the game really performs and I think this was their main focus when creating this game, because the story is so vague that you need to view these "grimoirs" on a separate site to read more into the lore. When I first bought Destiny it was shortly after the first DLC, "The Dark Below". I knew the game had flaws, but the visuals were, and still are great. The shooting mechanics are also really well thought out and because it's a slot machine style game with so many things to collect, upgrade and be rewarded, I kept playing it for for such a long time. However, the novalty soon wore off and I stopped playing it all together until the most recent DLC, The Taken King, game out (but again, I stopped playing after about a week). So far there has been 3 DLCs with the 3rd being the first DLC to add significant content to this game, including a new campaign. What Destiny is now is what it should've been back when it first came out in 2014. What is most disappointing is that this game now costs less than £40 brand new in GAME including all the expansions, when the base game alone cost more than this when I first purchased it. Only now is Destiny a complete game and that's why I'm giving it a 6/10. If you enjoy hours upon hours of grinding, micro transactions for emotes and repeating the same quests over and over, than this is the game for you. Expand

Simply put, there is no game on the market that comes anywhere close to what Destiny does. As a game design enthusiast, I feel they just got so much right in this title.

    - The three weapon load out is a golden triangle. Switching between primary, secondary and heavy weapons in pitched battles feels clutch. You have options, but not too many. The power level for each feels highly appropriate. The available combinations to experiment with are numerous. They pioneered this tight + controlled weapon loadout concept in the original Halo and the design language remains strong in Destiny.

    - To continue with the point above, the gameplay and pace for an FPS feels perfect to me. Having the gunfighting component complimented with melee, grenades, and super we see that another golden triangle emerges. Tying stats to these skills was smart. Most all of they make your guardian truly feel *powerful* and unique. The RPG component of this game really has merit and doesn't detract from the FPS elements in the slightest. The skill trees remain fairly balanced between and among classes.

    - While the story was definitely...lacking in plot and exposition, the level + world design has been consistently spot on. Every area feels textured, detailed and respectively thought out. So many beautiful vistas. Travelling through the world on your sparrow can be a pure joy - providing a welcome break from the fettered pace of combat. Another beautiful and under-appreciated design feature.

    - The sound design in this game is the best I've ever come across. No title matches Destiny my honest, humble opinion when it comes to sound effects. Certain exotics are just sound addictive. Sparrows sound amazing. The hugely varied enemies all have amazing triggered sounds upon death and it compliments the FPS mechanics perfectly. You just want to keep popping off enemies.

    - They finally added meaningful multiplayer to an FPS. Competitive PvP is great and all, but what really makes Destiny sweet is the strikes and raids. These are the bread and butter of Destiny and really what make it stand apart from other games on the market. I've been a huge proponent of cooperative gameplay ever since Halo 1 truly pioneered split-screen play. Playing with other humans against AI just makes it so much more involving and fun, it's hard to put a finger on it. The loot from these activities is a huge draw that keeps you coming back for more, reminds me very much of Diablo 2. Completing your first raid feels like a huge accomplishment in teamwork. The feeling is really only matched by a handful of MMORPGs. Bungie deserves all the credit in the world for bringing this not only to FPS players, but to console users as well.

    - The lore is captivating and the entire premise of the world is highly alluring. I love how this is a science fiction title based in our own solar system, not some randomly named star-system we could care less about. The combination of familiarity and wonder really comes together for a backdrop that is truly unmatched for the vast majority of game titles. This is a game I willingly invest myself in because it's just so damn cool. Coolest game I've played in the last decade. This is obviously a highly subjective opinion but I just had to say it.

If you can forgive the very uninspired art style and level design, graphics and gameplay are good but everything else is completely lacking. FFIV is a better MMO, Borderlines a better Co-Op game, and they're countless better SP and competitive MP FPS games out there. It feels as if Bungie was completely insecure in everything except the graphics and Halo-esq gameplay.

Being Bungie I expected an epic story but it's not. It's very bland with horrible voice acting. Word of advice to devs thinking of using very well-known actors with iconic TV/movie characters as voice actors in games is a good idea. It's not. When trying to create a new character don't use someone who constantly reminds me of someone else. All I hear is a completely bored Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister). (Same goes for you MGS - it sounds like the actors try and take the character seriously...but they can't)

Destiny tries to be several games in one but In the end Destiny is a pretty bad MMO, a horrible Single Player experience due to the bland story, level design and lack of set pieces or otherwise inspired graphics, and an average co-op game. Also, competitive MP can be had better elsewhere.

It tries to be the jack of all trades and excels at none. And given the content, level design, and scope of the game it hard to imagine that the majority of the 500 million budget went towards making the game and not to marketing.

The way I see it Destiny sells you 4 games for $70 (in Canada), but MMO's are free, the SP isn't worth anything, the CO-OP and Competitive MP are probably worth $29.99 each but neither game can compete with their better peers in each respective genre. All I picture when I play this game is that meme with the dog in a lab coat and glasses with the caption, "I have no idea what I'm doing", especially in terms of the the MMO and story elements.. That comes across here. They would have been better off making a Borderlands clone but with a great story... This game was not made with confidence, gameplay aside.

If your playing alone don't even bother with this game and don't expect to make any friends as it's impossible to communicate with people. If you have TWO buddies it can be fun, but guaranteed someone is going to get bored with the repetitive nature and stop playing

This game is one of the highest quality FPS games I have ever played. The multiplayer matches are great and could be enough to keep you having all the fun you need. Activision succeeds in making this game comparable to the Call of Duty series in quality of multiplayer online PvP.

The gameplay mechanics and graphics are great! I never felt wonky or that I didn't have total control of what actions I wanted my character to do. Feels very smooth and is just a seamless shooter of the quality of any of the Halo games.

The story is the major issue. There isn't one, at least not one that's very accessible. Grimoire is where the story is unlocked, but for the normal person you won't want to go read dozens of cards to see more about the story, but there seems to be a rich world, very much so hidden.

The MMO portion also is something to get by. If you don't mind having to pay for DLC every few months in order to stay up to date with the game then this won't bother you at all, but if you don't keep up, or try to jump in late, then this will feel overwhelming.

The game has gone through many changes and upgrades, and seems to be improving in the places it was failing, but overall this is an amazing game.

The leveling system, the simple rehashing of enemies, the lack of a system to find other people for "raids," and simply doing the same "missions" over and over again became tiresome. In a MMORPG the most important thing, (imo) is content and community which Destiny failes to deliver, It is alot of grinding:
    *Run here
    *Defend this
    *Kill that
*If someone dies run away and wait for respawn.

So instead of dunping your money in this game go play Warframe, cause it's the same thing but better and free.

Not playing it any more. Would rather chuck on BF4 for my shooter fix.

Destiny overall is an amazing game! I will admit that the story line is not the best thing the video game world has seen. The thing that makes Destiny such a great game is the community. The streams, Youtube videos, and Podcasts really adds a whole new level to the game. For the new players who are just now beginning Destiny I recommend get active in the community.

The Crucible is fun, but with literally two types of game modes (Also add into the fact that if you don't have Taken King, you aren't going to be playing the cooler stuff) And Strikes don't hold your attention for very long. The content given at base value, the original 60 dollars is pathetic. So why is it a six? Because....I, did have fun with it. And that's something I can't deny about the game. I had a lot of fun with it for a lot of reasons. So, Destiny gets by with me with barely passing marks. A slightly above average FPS with MMO elements. Expand

PVP can be fantastic at times but its all down to luck in the matchmaking system and the weapons your opponents are using. PvE does have a lot going for it but only after you've made it through the almost non-existent story and obtained enough gear to get you up to 34 (the level cap after expansion II) there is a lot of variety of activities to try but you will need 2-5 other friends to play with you, the game relys on friends playing the game which can be a problem at times. Items can be SO hard to obtain often as its all luck, not skill, but the sense of achievement when you finally get them is great. The active community is often highly friendly but the game is rage inducing at times and sometimes end game activities can take up to 3 hours. DLC is stingy priced unfortunately, but if you have friends playing Destiny I recommend it, if not its probably not the best. Expand

What really hurt Destiny was Activision's greed. In order to make more money, Bungie was forced to gut the game and remove a significant amount of content to be sold as future DLC. What's left logically feels incomplete. The story barely makes sense, and many plot points are never resolved. Every single character is shallow and underdeveloped. What's their story? What is their goal? The game never tells you.But it's okay, pay $50 more and you may get a continuation of the story in the latest 'Taken King' DLC. I'm sure you'll love it, especially if you're like me and you already spent over $100 on the base game (I pre-ordered the Guardian Edition, which came with the first two DLCs for "free").

There's plenty of missions, but they're all very repetitive and boring. Collect a certain number of items, kill some enemies, protect your little A.I. companion... and that's about it, really. If you ever hope to get any better gear, you'll be repeating these missions over and over and over again until you're absolutely sick of them. The endless grind doesn't feel rewarding or even remotely fun - and this is coming from a person who's spent the past 10 years playing World of Warcraft.

As far as multiplayer goes, you can do the boring missions in a group of three players. But really, why would you even bother? There are also drop-in/drop-out public events. You're in the middle of one of your boring missions when suddenly a massive tank appears from the sky, and you and any other player nearby need to work together to destroy it.

Then there are 3-player strikes (it's like WoW's dungeons), and these are actually quite fun. There's a handy player finder tool, so if none of your friends play Destiny, the game will hook you up with two more players. Some of them are pretty bad, though, and more than once did I have a player tagging along doing nothing or simply sitting in a corner, while the remaining two of us did all the hard work. You can report these slackers, but there seems to be no penalty for this behavior whatsoever.

Destiny also has raids, which are basically strikes with larger fireteams and tougher enemies. Unfortunately, there is no player finder for these. You are forced to go to various websites and find your raid team there. It's inconvenient, and the number one reason why I've never done any raids. They're supposed to be fun, but I'll never know unless Bungie adds a player finder.

PvP was Destiny's biggest selling point, and it seems to be the focus of its developers, seeing how pretty much every single event they've introduced since launch was all about PvP (the only exception was The Queen's Wrath). If you're like me and prefer PvE over PvP, you'll find this rather disappointing. If you love PvP, add 2 more points to my rating. Bungie is constantly tweaking weapons and trying to make PvP more balanced, so that's good, I suppose.

And that's Destiny - the game that promised to be the next Halo, but bigger and better in every way. It could've been good if Bungie was allowed to do their work without Activision's interference. As it is now, it just feels like a desperate money grab. Despite all this, Destiny seems to boast an active fan base (if the official Destiny Facebook page is anything to go by), so the game obviously isn't all that bad. Just really, really flawed.

If you're interested and you'd like to give it a shot, I recommend you wait for a few months until the game gets cheaper, or ideally wait for some sort of an "ultimate" edition, which will inevitably come out and which will contain all the DLCs for a few bucks.

The core game play is good. It has the top quality gun play that only exists in Halo / CoD series, and tried to fit it in a pseudo MMO setting. The 6 classes felt different enough for me to be invested in all of them almost evenly.

The amount of content wasn't there compared to your typical MMO endgame, but as long as you are playing to 'get better', it won't feel like a mindless grind for gears. It would be a lot better if the developers focused a bit more on PVP, made it more rewarding to perform well, balanced guns more, from the very beginning. By the time they got around to that, I had already moved on.

Looking back at the 600 something hours I've spent in the game, I feel like the game did more things right than wrong, especially with the frequent patches, the developers are really trying to make the game great.
The Vault of Glass is still one of the best multiplayer experiences I've had.

I gave this game one hell of a chance. I've played it from January 2015 till last Friday and now I give up. I give up on trying to convince myself and others that this game is as good as i wanted it to be. It's not. It just isn't that good at all.

The story takes the concept of repetition to a whole new level. Referring to it as a story is also being pretty generous. The npc's are flatter than a run-over hedgehog, the story is given little to no depth, it really is "go there, shoot those dudes. Then go there and shoot those dudes, wash, rinse, repeat."

PVP was entertaining but didn't really stand out among other PVP shooters.

When i think back over the hours i spent on this game, i find myself regretful. But what really makes the regret sting is that i spent money on DLC that brought so much promise but delivered so little. House of Wolves really only offered a new wave game (prison of elders) and some semi entertaining bounties and Dark Below did similar but with a new raid (Crota's End).
It struck me as very odd that there was matchmaking for certain strikes but not the raids. This meant having to try and gather friends or convince random players to do the raids with you.
The social side of things was rather weak. You could only really chat to people once they'd agreed to join you in a fire team.

The most crushing disappointment with regards this game was that a few months after shelling out £30 for both dlcs, Bungie brought out update 2.0, a prelude to the release of their new DLC, Taken King.

This update removed all but one strike level, took away easily 50% of the story content (paid DLC content included) 2 major parts of PVP and the ability to select which pvp game types you play.

Basically, they took my money, and i can go f*** myself. Nothing in the news about the coming update mentioned the loss of content. The destiny youtube community that had been given a taster of Taken King had mentioned nothing of the loss of content. I only found out the moment the update had finished (about 12 hours after it had started!).

I can only assume this was meant to make me hungry for Taken King but it's had the opposite effect. It's made me sick of it.

Bungie and Activision took a tandem dump on me. I've learnt my lesson, don't buy their **** anymore. I hope you don't either.

    Be well folks.

After awhile the game began to become VERY repetitive with the same stale mechanics. Shoot this guy, shoot that guy, go here, shoot that specific guy for a minute or so... The boss battles were stale and didn't require you to strategize and exploit a weakness, it's quite literally just shoot at the head or torso area for the entire encounter. It got boring, very quickly. It felt as if I was playing another Call of Duty story mission, nothing new, nothing good. I expected everything and the only motive for playing was to acquire a specific rare item which I found to be VERY frustrating! The leveling system is crap, even after patches I still find it tedious to upgrade weapons and armor especially the most important weapons and armor. (ie. pre-HoW patch exotic weapons and gear) Furthermore, all gains regarding weapons and armor inevitably get nullified through future DLC's. Only a select few exotics are able to be carried through the cycle of the game. Whereas I can understand why legendary weapons get held back, I find it unnecessary for armor pieces to have no way of ascending. (post-TTK release) Finally, some weapons receive unnecessary nerfs or damage reductions such as the Auto Rifles (pre-TTK) and fusion rifles (post-DB yes they are still meh-ish). To summarize, if you are bored and want a new experience, destiny is NOT that game, at first it feels fun and refreshing but after awhile the game will is piss you off. Lastly, it is also worth mentioning they have an entertaining Multiplayer, player vs player mode. If you enjoy and are GOOD at PvP or Multiplayer then the game will buy you an extra few hours of enjoyment, however some of the weapons that dominate PvP are acquired through very lengthy grind sessions of story mode or campaign, and sometimes you may very well never get that sought after weapon because 99% of the game revolves around RNG. (items are completely randomly selected regardless of game performance and what level you are) Destiny is a love/hate experience, again, I do not recommend this game, Destiny is a carrot on the stick game and should be avoided. Pros- Very well tuned gun mechanics and skill trees, fantastic soundtrack, beautiful aesthetics (locations sky boxes), decent multiplayer.

Cons- Poor customization, lack of gun models, repetitive game play (both missions and strikes are very repetitive with little variation), very short main story line, very little lore/backstory/explanation for why anything has happened or is happening (at the end of the main story line I still have next to no idea what or who the main antagonist of the game is supposed to be, why the enemy factions are here, who several characters were, what happened to different locations before my arrival, etc.), jump ships literally appear only in cut scenes and loading screens, the high pricing of DLC that was likely content that was cut from the original game.

While there are a few good things about Destiny that make it very playable such as the great combat mechanics, aesthetics and soundtrack, the game falls flat because of it's tiny storyline that will last you a few hours, the repetitive nature of missions that revolve around the "go here, kill those, scan this, kill the boss/waves of enemies" formula for literally every mission, and a complete lack of coherent story telling. Shortly after the beginning of the game, an NPC literally says that he could explain significant events or useful story the player, but decides not to. There's just been no effort to help the player understand the world we're in which totally kills any immersion, constantly reminding the player that they're playing a game. A lot of pre release footage would indicate that the world used to be a lot more open but significant changes (likely due to Activision holding up the contract) occurred before release that make it seem like the game was heavily re designed a few months before release.

It make me think that somebody hired a fantastic development team to built a beautiful world, but then assigned a creative director that just wrote a first draft filled with ideas that sound cool, but then never improved on them, leaving a game that looks great on the outside but is filled with plot holes and half thought out ideas.

It seems that you can play the entire base game from a freely available demo which will save your character for if you ever buy the retail version, so if you want to play Destiny, just download the demo because you can get everything you want out of it for free and without having to pay for any overpriced DLC packs.

Sound: Recycled weapon sounds, wasted voice talent for 2 lines that repeat every 3-5 seconds.
Enemies: Uninspired enemies that you have already seen countless times before. Covenant and Flood just reskinned.

Graphics: You have seen these graphics before years ago on the pc.

Multiplayer: The SAME NETCODE FROM 2004, Halo 2.

Ever wonder why Activision did not allow anyone to have an early review of the game? All those pre-order sales would have plummeted.
Ever wonder why Bungie has never released true player numbers?

A separate game was programmed for the beta to keep the hype train going. All of the development money was spent on having big name Hollywood actors voice 3-4 lines.

I haven't been this addicted to a game since World of Warcraft released in 2004.

I would fair much better, and enjoy PvP much more, if I could use my keyboard and mouse to **** on people.

    - LFG is great, but lacks in some areas. Please, Bungie, please... just make every strike and raid fall under matchmaking. You get all these folks out there that defend Nightfall, VoG, and Crota's End for not falling under matchmaking, because somehow it would make the game easier if it were? I'm sorry, but not having a job and a family to take care of doesn't make you "hard core" or make the game any more challenging to you. Matchmaking is essential for me, and many others, because I just don't have the time (or the amount of personal online friends) to start my own group or wait to join one. You don't hurt anyone by making all content LFG. Just do it.

Other than these two issues, this is the best game on current-gen consoles and is one of the best games I have ever played, period.

Luckily i didnt buy digital so i could sell the game when i realised around level 20 that there is nothing to do!

If you think 'oh she got to level 20, it cant be that bad' It is that bad. And levelling is very quick in Destiny.

The thing I like most is that instead of rushing out a new game every year like most other popular FPS games, Bungie instead continuously evolves the vanilla game to a point where the original game is no longer recognisable and is practically an entirely new game. Expect a long life and religious update and DLC schedule to keep this game a heavy hitter a long time after its original release. First time I have ever played a FPS on a daily basis for a year without getting bored due to the amazing DLC. The only shortfall is that the DLC is rather expensive however you are getting much more than just a few swerve map packs since each DLC adds an entirely new section to the game, on par with games like World of Warcraft. This is a game where you will need friends to enjoy the best features of the game so if you only ever play solo it is difficult to really see what this game has to offer since playing raids with randoms may be a little shakey. This game has made me several friends from opposite sides of the globe that I know play with daily. My all time game of the year. Expand

It is very rarely that I leave a game early or do not finish and I left this game within a week

Mechanics, graphics were good and gameplay were really good, but it became really really repetitive within a matter of days. Missions became a blur of the same followed by the same, go to a location, kill, obtain an item, repeat...

This game is absolutely, one of the best FPS i have ever played. That being said, there are some pretty consisent shortcomings that everyone should be aware of.

The campaign is repetitive. Sometimes you'll have to travel through loading screens to turn in bounties. Your gear will suck until you hit level 20. It could feel grindy at times. Navigation is pretty difficult for

Bungie makes the MMO-RPG very difficult to communicate and find groups.

How can I possibly give a game 9/10 when the the story is boring? Everything ELSE in the game is amazing. Destiny is extremely polished and the core mechanics and graphics are great. Weapons upgrades, gear requirements, multiplayer and raids make this game what it is.

Once I started to accumulate gear, i was hooked.

Destiny is an MMO FPS, which could be the first of its kind. This game was not only the most expensive video game ever made, but the most expensive entertainment product made, at a whopping $500,000,000 budget. The game had lots of pre-orders and a lot of hype, even more than games like WATCH_DOGS and the PC port of Grand Theft Auto V. However, Destiny is not only the most disappointing game of 2014, but maybe even the most disappointing game of the decade. There is so much things you can't do in Destiny that should of been there. For example, why can't I trade items? Why is the RNG so bad and extremely Unfair? Why are there so many One Shot Kill weapons in PvP? This makes we wonder if they were actually using all of it for this or if they decided to use more than half of it for another game? However, Destiny isn't a great game, so anybody who gives this game above an 8/10 is crazy. However, anybody who gives this game lower than a 4/10 is crazy. I would recommend renting the game or wait for a price drop of at least $19.99. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As you can tell from the score, Destiny wins the award for "Big Poo Sandwich" for worst game of 2014. The game is very bland. The formula never changes from "go here, shoot these things for some reason." The story was an abhorrence to the entire game, and it rather brought the whole game down for me. The story didn't really exist. It was just an excuse for people to shoot things. Even Tyrion Lannister could not save this game from being a bland shooter. The only thing the game to do to mix things up is put it in another brown and gray environment, which gets boring after the first million aliens. This game lasted as long in my house than Pixels did when the Oscars were considering whether or not to nominate it, and I'm guessing it lasted as long on the shelf at the store than Larry King has ever breathed. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game while I think is great in many ways just falls short of what it was trying to be. This game tries to be a FPSMMO. While I think the gun play and mechanics are amazing for a shooter. This game falls short terribly on the MMO portion. The backstory and story itself is completely non existent. Some of the story you can get to by going outside the game itself to read on Bungie's website. The exotic weapons all have a story outside of the game where you can read about the weapons and stories with them. Why not include that in game to add to the immersion and excitement of getting a weapon. Playing through the campaign is saddening. It's the same exact thing over and over again. Deploy your ghost and defend him from the countless waves of enemies. In the story itself you feel no connection at all to the guardian you are playing or the city and Traveler you are defending. There are not enough cinematic story telling cut scenes either to keep you awed throughout your experience in game. Even in the raids in this game you don't feel as if a story is being told while you are progressing through the raid itself. There is no in game match making or in game chat besides randomly messaging people on PSN that you see in game but with typical MMO ethics that is not a good practice to do. In order to find a group for something you must once again leave the game and go to either Destinytracker, PlanetDestiny, or Reddit to find groups for raids and other end game activities. PvP is the only thing that is keeping this game alive for me. But even that has its drawbacks with the constant one shot barrage of ranged shotguns out there. Expand

If Destiny did not come with my playstation 4, i would have returned it the same day i bought it, beat it in one 4 hour sitting. I was apalled at how little content is included with the base game, they expect us to shell out roughly 100$ a year for DLC to remain competitive, or be able to participate in online activitys, stag away from this failure of a game. If you enjoy grinding the same 3-4 levels for a few hundred hours then this is the game for you, if you have common sense, STAY AWAY. Expand

On the first i found Destiny to be fun and well worth the price, but after 5-6 hours it becomes really repetetive and boring.Every mission is the same, only environments change, and enemy's are the 80% same. Mediocre shooter with interesting RPG concept.

Destiny shouldn't just come up with random DLCs and slap a $20 price tag on it. And I for one have some friends or family I would LOVE to play Destiny with. So why not, while Bungie has the time to kick back and relax, they add splitscreen and make it so us gamers don't have to purchase a membership to Xbox or Playstation to actually make parties. I don't want to buy a $50 membership just to play in the Crucible, nobody does! Borderlands tripled their campaign with $3 DLCs adding a variety of content, and at its launch they had splitscreen for console users as well as making it so we could have parties of up to 4 people. Bungie, is it so hard to just add a split screen, or make the Crucible free for everyone? I have hope for Destiny and with these things, it could become a legendary game! So...Bungie, I implore you to make a new update with the split screen, a free crucible, as well as adding the DLC missions (HoW, tDB, and TK) to the normal game. Bungie, if you want to squeeze money out of millions of wallets, follow this advice, and instead of a few buyers, you will probably get every console user out there. Expand

What is most amazing of all is that despite its litany of weird little problems, Destiny is fantastic, its combat up there with the very best, the thrilling rhythm of its battles still not fading the 30th time through, and it has no single systemic problem that is not fixable. [Dec 2014, p.106]

Destiny is a flawed but still extremely fun first person shooter. While the Destiny universe itself seems intriguing, the storyline is told in such an incoherent manner that it's hard not to be turned off by all the technobabble. Fortunately the co-op shooter mechanics are absolutely perfect. The loot system can be maddening, but in a way it adds to the game's addictiveness. [Oct 2014]
