    Best way to play this game its youtube with 1.75x speed. Completely trash, nothing to do, just walks. Better buy Horizon Zero Dawn.

    Such a disappointment. This game is an empty world with a broken gameplay and bad A.I.

    Kojima said he invented a new genre of game.. He should just work on basics because everything is wrong with Death Stranding, except the music. But hey, it's not "music by hideo kojima" maybe that's why it's the only good thing.

    The story is interesting and engaging, the gameplay is fun and relaxing, I really enjoyed the experience and was really excited to see each turn the story provided. It's grate game.

    It has been an amazing experience so far, definitely GOTY Material. This game deserves everyone's praise for being bold and different in an otherwise unoriginal gaming year. This is a masterpiece.

    This game definitely makes it hard to like. We know this game's gonna be cutscene heavy but even then there are too many and nearly all of them are too long. The gameplay is while passable is not enough to interest you the whole way. The only reason I gave this '6' is because of the story.     Nice graphics ... Despite this constant blur. Unfortunately, this is the only quality of this game. Constantly cut by cutscenes, the gameplay, which is already not very enjoyable, is all the more redundant. The scenario is bad and tries to pass painfully for art ... To avoid!

    This game is very boring, confused and tedious, the main mechanics in the game is just walking, the combats are very simple (if you can find some combat).
    Graphically the game is really impressive and the cut scenes and landscape are beautiful, the sound as well, but the rest is a waste of time and money

    Kojima used to be a visionary that I held in high regard but his work has been going downhill since MGS4. Despite the problems with MGS4, Peace Walker and MGS5, they at least still had moments of greatness. The same can't be said for Death Stranding. Kojima's obsession with Hollywood actors has resulted in a pretty yet bland and empty open world devoid of any interesting landmarks orKojima used to be a visionary that I held in high regard but his work has been going downhill since MGS4. The incoherent story desperately wants to convince you that its deeper than it actually is. The shoehorned social elements are hardly new and end up feeling half baked. Konami are an awful company but I'm starting to think they were right about Kojima.     I love it. I reached Chapter 3 and it's so amazing. I love to deliver more and more to receive more items and more Gifts. The People who gave this Game a 0 are Xbox Players or trolls and there are saying there already beat the Game. Yeah. A Game you have to play over 50 Hours to complete it.     This is a warning don't buy it, I got caught up in the hype and preordered it. I regret that decision deeply this game is sooooo boooring. If your not sure don't buy it you got deceived by clever advertising this game is not worth any time.

It was quite clear from a while you'd be playing a role of a delivery man involved in uniting America. If you expected a different type of game, why did you even bother playing DS!?     Gameplay elements are terrible. It’s given me nothing but frustration and irritation since I started playing it.
    Just when you think it’s starting to play well you get ambushed by overwhelming creature and your controller starts crying. It’s serious tedious and rage inducing.
    It’s self-indulgent crap, 10/10 reviews are kidding themselves.

    DEATH STRANDING is absolutely wonderful, a harrowing, riveting, breath of fresh air. Fans of games like Ico or Shadow of the Colossus or Hideo Kojima games should not miss this unique experience. It will grab a hold of you (if you let it) and pull you to the other side. Take a deep breath and enjoy the ride.

    Musica impresionante, hermozo apartado grafico e historia realmente interesante.
    Pero falla en todo lo demas, la jugabilidad es tosca, repetitiva y excepto por las areas en las que encuentras EV, es aburrida.
    Recomiendo ver solo las cinematicas para conocer la historia, esto no vale como juego.

I bought this game clearly knowing it's a delivery sim and I am not disappointed. In fact, I am surprised. Like most delivery sims, they are very loopy (do a task over and over and progress to unlock things to make that task easier and more enjoyable). It has this with a bonus of beautiful cutscenes that I am always looking forward to in between. If you are a fan of simulators (Weedshop 2, Truck simulators, fishing sims) you will love this game. If call of duty is more your style or games that require constant stress and excitement, this game is probably not for you. I have read though a lot of the negative reviews and its almost like these people didn't even play the game. The way they explain the detail of the gameplay is like they basically watched a trailer and decided they didn't like it and just left a negative review despite playing the game just for spite. I wouldn't even be surprised if a certain company left a lot of negative reviews to make them not look bad (as PR for their next metal gear that will probably be **** after the Kojima departure. Just a thought. Anyways I am going to go play more and kick back and relax and enjoy my weekend helping the Death Stranding community rebuild this beautiful game world.… Expand

    es el peor y mas aburrido juego que eh jugado nunca en mi vida, como película esta muy bien y los gráficos están a otro nivel pero al parecer a kojima se le olvido lo que esto es un juego y su principal función es entretener algo que este titulo no logra hacer, un titulo solo recomendado para personas muy especiales.

    I initially have doubts with this game coz they said this game is not for all, but I bought it anyway. And thank God coz the game is for me.
    I am rating it 10 (though it doesn't really 10, 8-9 for me), just to lift it's rating coz there are lots of idiots rating it zero despite of the great content.

    -The game looks visually great. I'm only on a base PS4 and it really manages to look pre-rendered a lot of times both in gameplay and cutscenes. Both the technical features and art direction is pretty good. The landscape is just gorgeous.  -The movement system is actually pretty fun so far. The dedicated buttons for hopping    Without delving into spoilers and talking about gameplay:

    -The movement system is actually pretty fun so far. The dedicated buttons for hopping over things rapidly and balancing yourself does make out for an engaging way to make traversing through various environments an interesting experience. It really gives your character a good sense of weight without feeling like you're actively fighting the controls or animations getting in the way of responsive input.
    
    -Great music and audio work. Really gives moments a nice cozy feeling while keeping things tense. There were even moments where I thought it was actually raining outside since the directional audio sounds so good.

    -The story itself is pretty amazing, with some hiccups here and there.    … Expand

    Well, actually the ideas are just "kind of" original in the intentions (but not revolutionary) and they aren't properly integrated; plus the story is pretentious and dumb many many many times.

    I would rate it 3 or maybe 4 considering the graphics and music but it was so hyped up and imho does not deserve the hype at all. Critics who give this game above 65-70 are delusional. Probably same guys who gave Joker 3 out of 10. In any case it's a disappointment. Will finish on Youtube with fast forward of gameplay just for the story.

    This is not a game. It’s a walking simulator with a pretentious story thrown in. Kojima has made some great games in the past, but everyone makes mistakes. Death Stranding is his mistake. I want to play games that are fun. If it’s not fun why bother? And this game isn’t fun in the slightest. So I won’t bother, and I suggest you don’t either.

    El tema del juego es bastante interesante. Me recuerda la pelicula de The Postman de Kevin Costner, pero con un twist muy mejorado. Las cinematicas son brutales de bellas. La musica es excelente. Los escenarios (para ser un periodo post apocaliptico) estan bien bellos, poca vida, pero muy buen diseño; en especial el agua.     No le di un 9 o mas por lo siguiente: se supone que este jugando un videojuego. El tiempo que le di me senti que estaba viendo una serie de Netflix. Las cinematicas son muy largas, y el tiempo de gameplay es muy corto. Puedes recostarte en el sofa, soltar el control y cualquiera que te ve dira: esta viendo TV o alguna serie. Eso es lo que parece. Al menos en otros juegos, dentro de la cinematica te mandaban a presionar ciertos botones para ver la siguiente accion cinematica. O sea, interactuabas. Este no lo tiene. Es ver lo que ponen y ya. La jugabilidad es muy corta y repetitiva. Entonces recomiendan evadir los combates, por algo que sucede en el juego (no dare spoilers de que es lo que pasa). O sea, que la unica accion que veré de mi parte es caminar del punto A al punto B. Si quiero mas accion tendre que esperar a otra cinematica o que me chupen al dark side para enfrentarme al perro negro gigante. Para mi, es un big fail. Zelda BotW era amplio y vacio, pero dentro de ese vacio interactuabas con cosas, enemigos, etc. habia accion. Aqui no te recomiendan que tengas ese tipo de accion. Por que? Juegalo y sabras lo que digo.

     

    Dicen que despues de las 20 hrs es que se pone Bueno… yo digo: por que esperar tanto cuando lo puedes hacer desde el minuto 1? Acaso la explicacion de toda la historia son 20 hrs y el resto es: ahora sal y has lo que quieras? Definitivamente este no es un juego para todo el mundo. Antes de tirarte de pecho a comprarlo porque “es Kojima” o “tiene buenas graficas”… ve mejor varios gameplays para ver si el ritmo del juego te va a mantener jugandolo. Ladders and climbing ropes are the start, but the magic in the gameplay is when you begin collaborating with faceless and nearly anonymous 'other players' to create networks of paths, bridges, routes, and warnings that will make a once tedious journey into an effortless one.

    I love Kojima for Metal Gear, but this game just shows that you can't let him do a game if the gameplay doesn't carry his weird ideas.
    The Story might be good and some will play to see it unfold, but everything in between is boring and tedious. You get new stuff to make the deliverys easier and better, but its not enough to make this walking simulator fun.

    Overall i would say this game also shows perfectly the sad state of game journalism. Giving highscores even when the review didn't read perfect at all or they say that the walking is not fun and boring.
    I would say try it yourself if you really want to play the new Kojima game and are a fan of him, but overall the game has just the weakest gameplay of this generation.    … Expand

    Do not believe any reviews at this current stage. It is all blasphemy. The game has been out for less than 24 hours and has a 40 hour average completion time. The people reviewing have not played or have not completed it.

Game looks great, trippy cut scenes but If Im supposed to do this for next 40 hours then this is by far the worst gameplay idea for a game. I liked Kojimas previous work all the way from Snatcher and Policenauts but Im disappointed in the gaming journalism that they had no guts to say what they really thought of the game. 10/10 forWell after 8 hours....all I do is walk and fetch quests.     This is definitively an OVNI. Graphics are great, story is strange but gameplay is terrible. For 5 or 10$ this is something to try but NOT at full price. I don't recommend it. Wait for discounted price.

    Best looking game I've seen. I like narrative driven game and, well, it's narrative driven alright. Fascinating, new concept and I must say, relaxing as well. True, not for everyone BUT everyone should try it at least once, like sky diving...erm..ok ..maybe not skydiving..

    Es mucho mejor de lo que esperaba, sin duda. Pero obviamente no es para casuals.

    Si eres casual, le pondrás mala nota a este juego, o si tu nicho son los FIFA, por muy bueno que sea el God of War, no te va a gustar. Esto es la misma historia de siempre.

    No me gusta nada FIFA, y no voy a ponerle un 1, por que simplemente no me guste.

    The story is an absolute mess. The story might have you intrigued with strange concepts but half way you will find out they are just that concepts with no connection to the rest of the story. Dialogue in DS is partly average and sometimes so off you wonder if this was written by a french man and    Spoiler free.

    Why is there only one animation for each interaction and you have to watch it. If you drink a Monster(tm) it always plays the same animation this goes for everything adding only to the repetitive game-play.
    Who thought crying baby sounds are what a game needs? And the electric bike sounds will make you mute the game.
    Why make such a great environment when I just follow a line on the ground.

    TL;DR
    There were some really talented people working on this game but it all got degraded by hideous game-play and a general lack of overall direction. For a game so story heavy the story is heavily lacking.    … Expand

It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
