    I appreciate death stranding being unique. But I think people just don’t have the time for something such as a walking simulator. That’s exactly what this game is unfortunately.

    The best part of these game was the development. It was a mystery. And now, we have all lies on a surrface. Every feature that we were promised, works only in cut scenes. Every MGS had a lot of problems< but they had a gameplay. and now we only have a problems. #KonamiGenius ****

    I spent an hour playing the game an I really enjoy it. Its very engaging as of right now I wish i was at home still playing it. But i had to go to work. Just try the game first for yourself before saying its terrible which it is not 9/10 is my rating of Death Stranding.

    It is strange that a genius did not understand that in the open world there should be a bandage to study it, the world should not be empty and there must be exciting gameplay otherwise boredom and walking, and I can watch videos in YouTube, well, it’s clearly not worth the money !! !

    This game is an ego driven project thats left unchecked, who actually play tested this and not find it extremely repetitive and boring? The only glue holding this game are the story and graphics and not much else. I love Kojima, but he's due for a dud and this game is it, save your money on something else or heck replay TPP you'll have a better time than going through this slog of a game.

    Fantastic game, not for those who favour action and explosions and this game is also not for those who just place FIFA titles, this game requires investment, time, planning and most of all, attention.     If people can rate a game poorly based off 2 hours of gameplay and influence others not to play it, then I can rate it amazingly for the simple fact that it is a piece of art that not everyone will understand. It's not for casual gamers, it's not for people who dislike anything that's not a AAA released game or people who don't have a common understanding of anything horror-esque..     Its a really great game. Been playing all day. It's clear that some people are giving it a low score or 0 even though they have not played the game yet. I'm not saying all negative reviews are fake, some are just peoples opinion and that's fine. I'm just saying some people just like to trash a games review for some weird reason. What if this game was made by a small group of people that nobody has heard of. Bet most of the reviews would be positive. The game would be praised by most of the same people here giving the game a bad score. The very same people would also praise the developers for trying something completely new that hasn't ever been done before. All in all, this is a really great game. It requires lots of planning before embarking on a new mission and patience. The game's mechanics are really solid. It's just an overall brilliant game to play.… Expand

    Death Stranding is if not the most groundbreaking game I have ever played in life, The Gameplay itself is really fun and I understand how it is divisive for most people as majority expected a lot more "Typical Action" from this, Instead, we have a storyline like none other and the "Action" in this game is really awesome!     This game will not be for everyone, I think the negative feedback is from people not looking to try something new but the same cookie cutter type game as every other developer. I'm 12 hours in and love it. If you're after an experience then it's the right game for you.

    Nonetheless, the many hours I have spent with the game has been great. It’s gorgeous, the story is mysterious and the setting disturbing. Is it a game based on fast paced, adrenaline spiking action? No. Is it methodically paced, creepy and downright atmospheric? Yes. This game isn’t for those who are hooked receiving copious amounts of instant gratification nor those who simply want to tea bag other players online. You will require patience and the willingness to accept a perfect blend of story telling and gameplay. Basically, you’ll enjoy the game if you’re not a bland, bottom feeding meat head. But there are accusations of it being a ‘walking simulator’ and repetitive. I can’t argue too much here because there is lots of walking but this is evenly split up by the narrative and combat more than enough to keep the progression flowing. But the game is gorgeous and there’s plenty of challenges traversing the terrain where you almost always decide what route to take. I do however feel that the reports of ‘repetitive gameplay’ need to fall on deaf ears because it’s no where near as repetitive as sports sim games like Madden, Fifa, Football manager or shooters like Fortnite, CoD, Overwatch and numerous other games where you rinse and repeat the same maps, same game modes and same objectives. Hell, people have been performing the same old quests on WoW and other MMO’s for over a decade and racing around the same tracks in racing sims for just as long. Ultimately, I would compare this game to a great book that you’d invest your time in rather than a TV series you’ll binge watch in one day. It definitely hooks you in and has a very compelling backstory that you’ll be itching to uncover as you play. It’s not for everyone and it’s not meant to be but we do love in a culture where people want more, faster and to be rewarded for less effort. And you will need to put effort into this game. In the end, the haunting yet calming feeling of walking through the mountains alone becomes addictive in the best sense of the word. Combine that with indescribable creatures, perfectly blended horror tones throughout alongside a truly unique setting and aesthetic, then you’ve got yourself a masterpiece. My only gripe would be the desire to visit other climates but that is a minor concern on what is an overall fantastic game.    … Expand

I'm a pony for life but kojima is an overhyped joke. Imagine a film review "the film is terribly boring with a lackluster story but the director has a great pair of **** 10/10” ridiculous!

    I really am curious how many of the zero ratings have actually played the game. I can't even think of a game that I would honestly rate a 0 out if 10. It's a shame people with no lives feel the need to completely **** on someone's work. "0 out of ten" because I play x box and read " walking simulator" online. Sad sad sad

    In today’s day an age where everyone is shifting to live service and being Far Cry clones it’s really nice to see a game with no micro transactions and that is trying something different.
    Maybe not for everyone but if you enjoy a slow pace very thought provoking story and some relaxing gameplay with a beautiful soundtrack and amazing graphical detail then this may be a game    No Spoilers.
    In today’s day an age where everyone is shifting to live service and being Far Cry clones it’s really nice to see a game with no micro transactions and that is trying something different.

    I like the new game style “genre”. I am enjoying the game for real. The soundtracks are amazing. I was shocked when I just watched the first cutscene. The game has a deep idea to be delivered to the people. The gameplay is pretty good for now.

    This is excellent, new, rewarding, and entertaining. It's not for a casual player, or someone with short attention spans, and is not going to be enjoyed by all. The gameplay is purposeful, and the mechanics are very hardened and feel real. I love all the dialogue and learning more about the world, as well the idea of connecting the entire world and the points on the map.

    De ritmo tranquilo, tiene momentos memorables gracias al buen apartado gráfico y musical, la historia transmite un mensaje, la acción es pausada más dirigida a crear tensión en algunos puntos y pensar detenidamente, la interacción online le aporta mucho por la cooperación, peca en la repetición de algunos tramos y misiones de relleno, juego muy detallado pero tedioso en ciertos puntos.

    Bardzo dobra gra. Fabuła jak na razie zawiłością postaciami wyróżnia się na ogromny plus z pośród innych gier. Cały czas chce się sprawdzić co będzie dalej. Graficznie i muzycznie to jest najlepsza gra obecnej generacji. Gameplay 9/10

    I have not found the game-play boring in any way. I enjoy the hiking. It is the closest thing I have ever played to hiking in real life. I look at the beautiful environment, decide how I would cross it in real life, and the game does an amazing job of actually matching what I imagine in my mind.     A complete masterpiece, many people don't get it or like their games similar to what everybody else is playing, Death Stranding is a game that illustrates the need to have variety in the videogame industry, the themes it uses for its story provide an insight as to how current society is and how we can become better people by connecting to others. A game a true gamer should not ignore.

How anyone could give this game a "0" after it only being out for 12 hrs is beyond me, pretty sure they haven't even played it yet...     A game with a great atmosphere, great soundtrack and cool graphics. Relaxing to spend time in it is a complete pleasure. The plot is also good, although sometimes they explain it a lot.

    I kid you not this game is hours of cutscenes, and the gameplay is just walk to deliver something with horrible controls. Rinse and repeat. Where is this game? Where is the fun? This is the worst game Kojima has released, which makes me wonder if he really was behind the success of MGS or if he was surrounded by talented people to reign his crazy ass in.

    Interesting story bits here and there....but not a good game... Nobody bats 1.000 and this is a big whiff for me. Walking simulator to deliver to a hologram, cut scene, then do it again. If this game was on steam for 60$ by an indie developer, it would have nothing but negative reviews.

    Addictive and all encompasing, Death Stranding is a whole different level of addictive and innovative. It's atmosphere grabs you and never lets go. Some may day it's just delivery sim but it is beyond that in every single way. It's deeper and more emersive than any of us realized and I cant wait to finish it.

    Nothing is worse than a game, that does not respect the players time. This is some of the most boring gameplay, i've played in many years. Repetitive quests and and while the graphics are decent, the world just feels empty and bland.

    Totally refreshing game in a landscape of cookie cutter games pressed out year after year. Very slow burn with this experience amazing cut scenes and camera work. If you spend the time and were interested in the trailers you will love this game and what it does

    Personaly I love Kojima games, and DS is his best yet. The story is cohesive, interesting, and each cutscene is masterfully directed and looks like a movie, The gameplay can get stale, but the core gameplay loop is addicting and the game throws enough new gadgets and tools to make things interesting. Combat and BT encounters are meaning full and stressful, and you never feel OP. You feel like a dude trying his hardest to connect America again.

    In the end, this game is about the moral of its story, and how the gameplay can connect people even across the greatest divides which is what it does the best!    … Expand

    Beautiful, ORIGINAL game. Doesn't hold your hand. Allows you to play and figure things out yourself. Problems can be tackled in numerous ways. There is no right or wrong way to do things. Awesome.

It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
