Fun game and immersive story. Though the game is buggy is still enjoyed my experience on the base ps4. Had laughs encountering bugs a d the crashes allowed me to take breaks after playing for 2 hours straight.
Overtime, the quality will improve with updates. And I understand I'm playing the game on base ps4. But still entertained and happy with the purchase.

I have been unusually hyped for this game since I first saw it. Now that it's here, it's heartbreaking that it isn't AMAZING but it's still a game I'm going to give 100% of my attention to in the mean time. The characters are amazing, the city is beautiful, and the story is fantastic so far. Yes, it's buggy, the game could have cooked a bit longer, but do not try and compare this game to The Witcher 3. It's a new IP and I'm absolutely in love with it and I can't wait to see how CDPR supports the game moving forward. PLEASE give this game a chance and play it. Expand

Graphically it’s really good but with some issues when driving through the street you can get popping and pedestrians are like a blob till the textures are loaded. We don’t really know what technique they are using for the render side of the game but it seems that the game is trying to load everything around the player instead of Horizon Zero Dawns approach where that only renders what the player sees, once all the issues re solved this will be a game to have.
The score we given is based on the story, side quests, fighting, shooting and things to do around the city and does not take into account the technical issues that there is. We understand that the developers are releasing a game during a pandemic where they had to work from home and understand the challenges that that brought to them as a team that usually is working in the same studio.

There are still bugs (as of 14 Dec 20, or launch plus 5 days), which is to be expected. Could this game have used some more time in dev and patching? Yes. Has my game crashed? Absolutely. It runs pretty decently on my PS4 Pro, no major glitches, slow downs or unrendered textures. I know others have derided CDPR for releasing an "unfinished" game, but this was always meant for the next gen of consoles and higher-end PCs. Plus, newly released games (of this scope) almost always have bugs on launch. Give it some time, and this will get polished. Better yet, wait until the next-gen console versions are finalized or update your PC to get that higher-end spec and judge it, then.

At the end of the day, I've put in some 30-40 hours since launch which is more than I've ever put into a new game which tells me that no matter what faults this title might currently have, it's still engaging and highly playable. Don't let the mob convince you that it's broken since it won't run on their PS4/XBone (original) or that 2012 ThinkPad. Hype went overboard on this, sure, but it's still very, very solid.

If you have the hardware, this game delivers. If you're looking for a perfect product, good luck. Hasn't been made yet, and some people will complain no matter what they're given.

Overall: 9 (-1 for, yes, bugs and bugs)

I am not sure how bad this is for others since I have experienced similar issues to a similar extent with so many other games... I assume that many upcoming next-gen consoles with old-gen counterparts are going to have the same issues and CDPR is bearing the brunt of this inevitable reality.
Either way, Kudos to CDPR for stepping up, taking responsibility, and promising substantial changes to make the game perform as best as possible for all systems.

Quest-wise there's a lot of minor stuff and the story missions. What I honestly haven't found yet and kind of was expecting was an equivalent to the witcher contracts. Like, really investing, multi step sidequests. So far, the side missions kind of just were "Go there, do this". I mean, they are fun and somewhat diverse, but yeah, no comparison to the extensive side quests of w3. The story missions so far were pretty cool and I'm looking forward to the next ones.

The open world stuff is not that important to me, to be honest. The fact that you've got not hairdressers, tattoo artists etc. might be disappointing to some, but it's just not what I spend time with in a game like that. I can see how it can seem lackluster to some to not have these features in, but as much as I love the GTA + RDR series, I don't expect every open world game to have the same scope and feel.

The performance issues and crashes have gotten better with the patches, but as I said, having played on PS4 Pro, it's not been that bad to begin with. I'd get a crash every 3 hours or so, which probably was a good thing, or I'd be dead now.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this game has not a lot of problems to deal with right now, and needs improvement in some areas. But reflecting on that I played like 60 hours or so since release, I can't really stand here and trash the game, even though it's not the quantum leap everyone expected. I think it's a good game. And I hate most open world games, RDR and GTA aside.

The frame drops and graphical glitches are the most painful because once you slow your car down and give everything a chance to render the world is stunning. The reason why my score is so high despite these technical difficulties is that the foundation of Cyberpunk is so solid. The story is compelling, the characters likable and fantastic voice acting to tie it all together. I have no doubt that in 6 months from now once the bugs are ironned out this will be a great game to pick up from scratch or go for 100% completion and explore the world. Way better than given credit, Amazing Graphics, Fun Combat and the bugs aren't even bad and most of the time don't prevent progression and can be reloaded if it does. Frame rate can drop occasionally but its not terrible and its still good. Amazing story.

Secondary missions and storylines are also very deep, with many three-dimensional characters to meet and get to know. Even the side gigs are very fun and often contain twists that make them different from one another. The city itself is stunning and full of details, with each districts having a different "vibe" and style. Overall I think that CDPR has made a very beautiful game, that sadly has been overlooked because of its "incompletion" and in a few months more and more people will get to understand how much of a fun and truly incredible RPG game Cyberpunk 2077 is.

    Played on a basic PS4

P.S. : sorry for being vague with the story side, I think that to fully enjoy it it should be played without any (even small) spoilers.

When your car is broken (for more money) you just slam the door and saying "I won't drive it anymore, give me money back"? Or you just wait until someone will repair it? I don't have any expectations with Cyberpunk, also I don't like anything aassociated with gangs and mob's but still I have some fun amd I don't even think about sending it back.

During 16 hours I got 3 crashes and probably 8-9 minor bugs that weren't so bad. Actually, they were somewhat funny. In the worst cases I was always been able to load my save and continue just when I was a minute ago.
Yes, it is buggy. But give it 0 just because of that would be completely unfair. And stupid. It is an amazing city with deeply designed visual styles from the team that tried to bring us something new. And they did!
And they are not Ubisoft who releases less buggy but still buggy AC and instead of fixing everything just adding monetization. CD Project Red at least tries to care about users. The recent patches and their roadmap confirms it.
Yeah, it lacks a lot of features from GTA but c'mon, it is not a GTA. And it is not a Witcher. But RPG elements, story, dialogues, shooting is better than in Fallout 4, for example.
So yeah, great game, really. I hope january patch will reduce the amount of crashes to zero. But it is also very playable now. If you are not a crybaby with ridiculously high expctations.

I heard this game looks pretty bad on consoles but I can't personally speak to that, though that seems pretty obvious to me given the PC system requirements)

Gameplay - 7/10 (AI can be a bit dumb and I really don't like how police just teleport behind you when you commit a crime, otherwise solid stealth/hacking/gear collecting/upgrading mechanics). Recommend playing on Hard or Very Hard to make up for the AI shortcomings.

Story - 10/10 (story is a strong point both in the main quest and the side quests. You really empathise with the characters who are realistically flawed and motivated by realistic goals/loyalties etc.)

Replayability - 7/10 (Good for 3 replays IMO. There are 3 main playstyles - gun and hack combat, stealth and hacking with the expected hybrid possibilities in between). There are 7 endings but IMO it's more like 3 endings with 2 slight variations each and the secret ending which is mainly there for a challenge). Only thing that would increase replayability is if they let you 100% custom make a character rather than play as "V" who is a character with a set goal and motivation (i.e. to become a Night City mercenary legend). However this was probably necessary to tell the story of V rather than the story of a generic player so I understand these things are always a balance.

Music/Soundtrack - 8/10 - Low key the second best aspect of the game. Perfect for setting the atmosphere of Cyberpunk. Some songs really pump you up for a mission and others make you kind of want to stop just to listen to them.

To start, Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't play like a Morrowind, Pillars of Eternity, Diablo, Fallout, or GTA, likewise it doesn't play like COD, Battlefield or any other casual FPS game. To break it down, CP2077 doesn't allow much with player choice, while the game is open world and allows the player agency to choose what to do and when, when it comes to the story that is pretty much set in stone.

My best description of where the game lies is in between a hardcore open world RPG & a linear story based FPS. It's taking the FPS stylings of a Fallout game, updating it with more modern takes on dodging, double jumping & overall maneuverability while keeping to the statistical background & importance of a classic RPG where your character build defines how well your character works & what they're good at.

Aside from differences in genre styles & character agency, the world works pretty differently as well. While considered an open world RPG and being one of the biggest and busiest open worlds to date I have found that the world, while appealing & visually gripping lacks a bit of the randomness of true open world. When you've beaten the game, done all of the side quests, APBs & gigs and you are left looking at what to do in the post game you find that there isn't much to do or very well any incentive to grind out for better equipment or for money (unless you want the Autojock trophy for owning all of the cars). For this particular issue I ended up fixing this by simply exploring the map.

The world that CDPR has made from the resources of 2020, RED and Pondsmith himself working with them they have been able to create an enormous megalopolis comparable to Mega-city One from the Judge Dredd comic series. The city layered with breathtaking individualistic aesthetic and panache gives off really well done visual storytelling. One can almost see the lore of how the city's districts were formed without needing to read about it, BUT just in case you wanted to read about it you will be absolutely enthralled with the various amounts of data shards filled with Night city and overall Cyberpunk lore to ingest. In some cases the map of Night city is an almost perfect copy/design of the Cyberpunk RED map which takes place in 2045 but if you look back to 2020 you'll see very little that remains similar, but this generally makes sense.

Pondsmith didn't necessarily want you to be a world saving badass, but instead have you be a pretty normal guy (of course this is for the TTRPG, whether that sentiment converted into the development of V is a whole other story) & to me personally the way the story of V is told in the game is done beautifully. You start out no matter what background as a basic nobody & from that point onward you are essentially just trying to make a name for yourself & make it to the big leagues. How V interacts with the supporting cast is voice acted & written naturally & fluidly with what I'd consider to be perfectly rational reactions considering the circumstances. Johnny Silverhand & V's relationship is an integral part of the story & depending on how the player chooses to rush through the game, take their time or just mess around every now & then can change the pace of that relationship. I personally layered the story telling into sections, I'd play a bit of the story then chill & do gigs & side quests & then go back to the story - by doing this the way their relationship played out felt a lot more natural, as if as time went on they had become closer. I could also see someone blitzing through the story & feeling like it was forced & didn't make sense, on this I'd say it's more of a player's choice to how that will feel BUT CDPR may have done a little bit better to allow the more casual players to feel that natural progression come about.

Away from this the story telling of the relationship/friendship quests, side quests & gigs all came with pretty well done voice acting & writing. Without spoiling anything I'd just suggest to fully invest in the Panam, Kerry & Judy quests.

We're now on patch 1.06, all I can say on this is that on the PS4 slim the bugs were basic stuff that you'd see in really any open world RPG and some you STILL see in Skyrim, nothing truly game breaking...that said there are a few side quest bugs that are annoying and won't allow you to either start them, do them or turn them in. Luckily as they are side quests this isn't super important. As for crashes, since the new update I have experience a crash maybe once every 4 hours - being an experienced open world RPG gamer across consoles and PC, I learnt from this years ago and have implemented a multiple manual save system as well as an obsessive quick save system.

Overall having finished the game all the way through in each ending, exploring afterwards, deep diving into the lore, trying to find cut content & pushing the game to it's limits I'd have to give the game on the PS4 slim an overall 8.5/10 or an 85.

The game is a buggy mess, and it is obvious it needed to be delayed for another 4-5 months. I honestly feel corporate was scared to push the game to the fiscal year, and overestimated their developers could pushout during the pandemic. I play on a base PS4 yet I'm lucky that I have two bugs, pop-in (not a deal breaker for me) and crashes(highly annoying especially the moment after defeating the final boss of the game).

However, I believe that the game has the potential to be one of the best masterpieces in a long time. I really appreciate the narrative of the game. I understand many are displeased with it, but again I am testifying to my own experience with the game. From the choices and dialogue choices I made, the story of the game ensnared me into its narrative web. I feel the characters are well written with their own motivations that might not make since to the other characters, but I can see why they act the way they do. I appreciate the relationships that the game forms. The one I appreciate the most is V's and Johnny Silverhand's. How I personally played the game their is so much growth between these two characters, and I actually thought Keanu Reeves did a good job playing Johnny. Depending on what games come out this year I do actually believe that Keanu and the voice actors that played Rogue and Male V could be nominated for game of the year awards.

Gameplay is what comes next for me. I really do like the combat of the game. You start off awkward and clunky. This is slowly overcome as you progress through the game. As you level up throughout the game the skills will feel more natural. Driving is the same way. The first vehicles are awful, and it is easy to blame poor game design for this. However, it driving gets much better as you attain better vehicles. Also an important thing to remember is that not to mash down on the acceleration. Of course you aren't going to make a 90 degree turn going over 120 mph. The Ai of the game is pretty hit or miss for me. I have ridden with npc that have demolished other cars and run over pedestrians that didn't get out the way. During combat, some enemies are incredibly dumb and just stand there. However, some will actually take cover. And once every blue moon, I will be surprised as an enemy runs around a block or into a build only to come from behind to flush me out of where I'm camping. Or even just straight up rush me to force me out of my cover.

Overall, I give the game an 8/10 for a strong narrative, amazing characters, and engaging gameplay. I can't give the game a 10/10 because of the bugs that can interfere and detract from the game. I feel that future dlc's and patches will further improve the game, and at that time, I will be happily give the game a higher score. Again this my own opinion of the game I encourage y'all to play the game and form your own.

Disclaimer: Played on PS5 in PS4 compatibility mode

While there is no doubt the game is unplayable on a 2013 PS4 and therefore doesn't deserve a higher rating for this platform, I would like to rate the Game as it is playable.

First, even on PS5, there are numerous bugs which for me wasn't game breaking, but annoying after some time. Subtitles hanging on screen, random explosions and a very dumb AI throw you out of this dark future America. However, if you ignore the Bugs the Game is stunning beautiful. You will find yourself intrigued by most areas and smaller details, like a tree build inside a building or a parade accompanied by colourful holograms. The story is, despite being short in its parts where your choices really matter, very well written with interesting characters and brushes deep and important questions. Side Quests and job are also interesting, but your choices there are almost irrelevant. But the diverse characters compensate for that weakness. References to Pop culture are a bit excessive for me, but this depends on your taste.

The Gameplay is okay, but nothing great. While your choices how to tackle a level are vast, neither the leveling mechanic nor the items/inventar or the item build mechanic are of great importance. You have to be careful not to waste countless hours in your inventory to sort the countless items you get. You will only use let's say up tp 6 weapons the entire game, don't waste your time, choose early and then sell everything else. Supply of Healing Items is excessive, hope it will be patched, because after 100 hours you will have approximately 400 healing items left which heal your wounds instantly. Makes this game except a special boss fight very easy. But even this Boss fight was buggy for me, so after some time it was stuck on a pixel and i was able to just stand and shot. There is much unused potential for CD Projekt Red here.

And yes, you can customize your genitals in this game. Though, you will only see them in your inventory screen. Your sexual partners aren't commenting on them, you will not see them one time in a sex scene and you can not drive a motorcycle naked and be stopped by the police, because you will always wear an underwear. This makes it so useless and deprives the players of so many funny possibilities that I'm not sure why they bothered animating this.

Comment on the police: They will find you. In this game they pop out of nowhere when you shoot people considered civilians, even though they should not know where you are. Their AI is as bad as for the cars: they aren't able to drive around your parked cars, even if only two pixels protrude to the street. But I'm sure they will fix all the issues in the future. At least I hope. In a time, where the hotfixes don't need other hotfixes.

But despite all those flaws, this game was fun for me. But I can't deny all the unused potential here. My advice: Wait for a PS5/ Extended Version. At least wait 6 months to a year and see if they progressed. Then you will find a funny and well build game.

    Point fort :

I really enjoyed this game on PS4 Pro. Patch 1.1 fixed most issues for me. Will replay the game later this year when additional patches come out.

Everyone knows about the performance issues so I won't go deep into those. All I can say is that I played on the base PS4 and the issues and bugs I came across were not an issue for me but I do have high tolerance for such things. I had no crashes. This doesn't excuse the quality issues though.

But the story is just great. I absolutely loved it! Albeit a bit short. Night City is just calls you back and there is a lot to do and discover.

Scoring the game is difficult because bugs can be fixed and what you will be left with is an interesting world and amazing story. So I think I will lean to the positive side with my rating. I won't easily forget the journey I went on with Johnny Silverhand.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

Watch Dogs.

Bugs and crashes were annoying, but I still enjoyed the game enough to collect the Platinum Trophy. I logged over 100 hours of enjoyable gameplay and the game still stands out as one of my favorites. Would have been a 10 for me if not for the technical issues.

This is a review for the PS4 Pro version of the game.
Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most anticipated games for quite a while. Some people were upset with the game's performance on the base version of the consoles, but what about me on the PS4 Pro? Well, I expected much worse to be honest, but still, it doesn't run as it should.

One of the best parts of Cyberpunk 2077 is the story, which is very interesting despite being shorter than it should've been in my opinion.
The characters are great overall; I liked V (Female), Johnny and Panam more than I expected. Some characters like River and Kerry could benefit from more screentime, but they were good nonetheless.
The gameplay is pretty enjoyable, albeit buggy at times.
The world is really good! Night City is probably one of my favorite places in a videogame, and most of the quests are wonderful, just like in The Witcher.
The visuals are very beautiful most of the time and the music is absolutely fantastic!
Unfortunately for the game though, there are technical problems. From texture pop up, to FPS drops, audiovisual issues, glitches and even some crashes.
Also, the RPG elements are quite underwhelming (dialogue options & side-activities) and lastly, the A.I. is flawed and the wanting system is almost absent.

    Pros:
    + Engrossing story
    + Fun and varied gameplay
    + Compelling and likable characters
    + Superb quest design
    + Night City is spectacular

    Cons:
    - Short plot
    - Technical/audiovisual issues
    - Underwhelming RPG elements
    - A.I. & wanting system

    Narrative: 8/10
    Gameplay: 8/10
    Content: 8/10
    Characters: 8/10
    Music: 10/10
    Graphics/Audio: 8/10

    Final Rating: 8.5/10
    - Really Great -
Despite the unfortunate launch, flaws and some broken promises, with Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red proved to me once again that they are at the top of their game when it comes to engaging storytelling and characters in an Open World game.

    Do I recommend it?:
Well, I know that it's playable on most platforms, but I don't know if it's worth getting it on the base versions of the consoles for now. I'd recommend it for PC or PS4 Pro/Xbox One/PS5/Xbox Series X owners though.

The worst case of this was when Jackie pulled a pistol out of his head and inserted it into mine. I played on PS4, and the game was not that broken for me. CDPR is best known for their excellent storytelling, and on this, they delivered more than I expected. I was excited for this game, and I felt as if I got more than I expected, while others felt the opposite. I do understand why people are disappointed, but if you are willing to look past some glitches, there is a well-written story underneath. Expand

When I played it on version 1.02, I would have given it a 4/10. Now however, I give it a 8. Now however, I give it a 8. Cyberpunk's marketing deceived many gamers into thinking it's scifi gta, a marketing that promised it as the second coming of christ, to a game that is basically scifi witcher. Witcher 3 IS my favorite game of all time, yet it's a flawed masterpiece with many, if not most of cyberpunk's flaws being present as well in the witcher 3. Cyberpunk's AI is braindead, but it was copypasted from the same braindead AI on witcher 3. But since marketing promised the second coming of christ, people expected the company that before witcher 3 was an indie to make a groundbreaking AI that would rival gta5 or rdr2. If marketing was more honest, and just promised what basically is scifi witcher 3 and not the next big thing that would fix all your problems and make your crush fall in love with you, then gamers wouldn't be as angry about this game. I'm not taking count on the broken, almost UNPLAYABLE launch that thankfully is significantly better as of 1.3. The main story is great, with amazing characters and great WRITING, which is CDPR's BIGGEST strength. Many people may complain about the shorter main story compared to witcher 3, but that is preferable to a bloated ubisoft mess. However, the thing cyberpunk's content will be remembered best is the Amazing yet completely missable side content. The AMAZING writing involved with Panam, Judy, Kerry, Rogue, Jefferson Peralez, Lizzy Wizzy, Us cracks, River, Johnny, even a sentient soda machine and a mad homeless guy is what shows CDPR's biggest strengths and imo SAVES cyberpunk from being a forgivable experience. Cyberpunk, along with The last of us part 2, will be among the most DIVISIVE games in the coming decade, with many as myself loving it besides the flaws, and others hating it as it killed their mothers, I think time will be nice to Cyberpunk 2077, But CDPR should get all flak for launching in a unacceptable state while at the same time praising the strengths in this game. Metacritic will never be nice to this game, but on a sale, you should try it it out for 40-60hrs of good eurojank that is basically a scifi witcher game Expand

Storia: a me è piaciuta molto, immersiva e profonda.
However, I can't give this game 10/10 - despite playing on an SSD-equipped PS4 Pro (the SSD eliminates most of if not all the asset pop-in), there are still some technical issues that make the game somewhat less enjoyable.

FPS drops are a common occurrence while driving through the city. This can make driving feel very sluggish and difficult to control.
There aren't very many bugs any more, however in my two full playthroughs I found two annoying bugs: one bug in an ending mission which caused to mission to fail automatically and repeatedly (forcing me to load a previous save) and one bug where my sandevistan does not work sometimes during combat for some reason.

These technical problems I experienced being my only real issues with the game, I feel that 8/10 is fully deserved, and I absolutely love this game!

I was quite looking forward to this game before it released but held out as I had a couple of other games to play so it was a narrow escape from the abysmal launch. I picked it up a week ago on sale and must say I'm really glad I did.

The details in the world seem all very nicely thought out, people of all shapes and sizes walk around at different paces and although that doesn't seem like much it certainly feels more like a world rather than every npc having the same build and animations just with different skins.

Gameplay wise it's a lot of fun. Combat feels good with punchy weapons and plenty of options to adjust your approach which helps with your decision on how to build your character with their skills. Driving controls are responsive and make it fun to whip around the incredibly designed city with all its many side streets and interwoven paths

I enjoyed being stealthy and taking out enemies one by one with rear grapples, I enjoyed sneaking behind them with a high powered pistol and watching a gaping hole form in their head, I also thoroughly enjoyed blasting them all to bits with a high powered machine gun and various other methods so yeah there's enough there to keep you yearning for that next fight.

I'm not usually bothered about story as much as I used to but this game got me listening to the dialogue and investing a bit in the characters and so far it's been very rewarding.

There are still bugs - I've had a friendly npc talking to me then to carry on the story he walked right through my car and me but so far nothing game breaking. It can be amusing at times but it can break your immersion.

Overall I'd highly recommend getting into the game now. If you're looking for an open fps rpg with character building, weapon loot/crafting/levelling where you can also go full GTA and steal cars and cause mayhem in an amazing looking city with a killer soundtrack then go for it - definitely happy I bought this now.

I launched Cyberpunk 2077 on my PS4 Slim several weeks after the release and most of the bugs were fixed, so I was able to play the game from start to finish. However, the quality of textures was painfully low, I usually had only 20-22 frames per second while driving around the city (with dips below 20), and some objects tended to disappear. The technical state and graphics of the PS4 version are awful, which is a shame, because the game itself has one of the best stories I have ever encountered, its gunplay is really good, and Night City is very impressive. Cyberpunk 2077 is a game brimming with potential, and it damn near reaches it on so many occasions, but the pitfalls of its development ultimately drag it down. There's still a lot to like here for RPG fans and lovers of the genre, but it's far from the generation-defining masterwork that the world was waiting for.
