Things have certainly come a long way. There are still bugs and glitches, but Cyberpunk has at least reached a point on the console where it is entirely playable. So while that does not make up for all the scummy things that went on behind the scenes, it does mean I have finally been able to experience the content it offers and can review the actual game itself, rather than just remarking on its technical shortcomings and CD Projekt RED's lies. A game that, while still good, is nowhere near what we were promised it was going to be.

Night City is a massive place filled with enough side-quests and odd jobs to keep you busy for hundreds of hours. Almost all of which have a level of writing comparable to that of GTA V's. The world itself is diverse, teeming with life, and is one of the best I've experienced in all my years of gaming. I often found myself forsaking driving and walking to my objectives just to take in the sights.

Unfortunately, your interactions with it are painfully limited narrative-wise. It's a good story. One filled with incredibly well-written and acted characters I grew to genuinely care about. It's just not even remotely as open-ended as they told us it was going to be. The main plot thread is very linear with each quest largely playing out the exact same way every time right up until you choose an ending. It makes multiple playthroughs kind of boring as you've basically seen everything it has to offer the first time around save for the actual different endings themselves. Yeah, you can pick another background for your avatar, but outside of the occasional dialog option this only affects which prologue you'll receive and has no real impact on the rest of the experience. Compare this to CD's earlier work The Witcher 2 where a choice you make relatively early on can take you to two entirely different areas complete with their own content and you have a noticeable and significant step back for the developer.

There are some other, more minor aspects of the game that aren't up to par as well. Like the character creation system that favors superfluous feeling cosmetic decorations over rather basic means of crafting facial structure. Did we really need the ability to select genital size in lieu of being able to shape foreheads? I think not. The shooting and driving controls are also loose, which led to a lot of tinkering in the menus before they became useable for me.

Forever marred by the dishonest and even illegal business practices of its creators and (at times VERY) rough around the edges, Cyberpunk 2077 is still worth playing for the things it does brilliantly and the myriad number of ways you can use technology to transform your body into the ultimate killing machine. In a lot of ways it was the futuristic gangster life simulator I never knew I wanted. Yet, this is far from the genre redefining RPG it was marketed as and lags behind its peers in some embarrassing ways given the talent putting it out. So when all is said and done this is merely a "good" game when it should have been the next big thing.

Terrible AI, the world is no where near as alive as promised. Would I recommend it? Maybe when it's completed in a year or two. The soundtrack bops and the story is truly incredible... I've played a lot games in my day and this is one of the most creative and innovative stories I've ever seen. I wish the romances were a little meatier; they consist of 1) do a few missions for that character 2) flirt 3) have sex 4) basically never talk again until the final mission. A lot of promises that weren't kept and shady marketing practices hurt my final score as well. CD Project Red can do better and releasing the game in its current state is simply unacceptable. It's ironic that corporate greed has damaged the image of CDPR given the subject matter of the game and their new hero of Johnny Silverhand. Something tells me Johnny would think of CDPR the same way he thinks of Arasaka. 7/10 with lots of potential. Expand

I have just finished my second playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077, my first playthrough was on PC at release, and my most recent playthrough on PS5.

Replaying this game on console, in performance mode on my TV felt a bit more immersive however there were some issues straight out of the gate as I couldn't seem to configure my controls to feel snappy and responsive, I also experience frequent crashes, none of these entirely ruined the experience as save points weren't too bad, but it's still quite jarring and frustrating, this shouldn't be happening so many years after release.

As for the game itself, CDPR clearly poured countless hours into creating the world but didn't populate it with enough side-content. There are some great side missions, but the vast majority of them are just boring cut and paste (go here, kill/steal that, leave),

Vehicle handling is frustrating, taking some corners feels like you're driving on ice with how dramatically the car spins out, and there isn't a lot of variety to the vehicles themselves. Most are terrible, once I picked up the Caliban? I didn't need to bother with any other car.

The main story is decent, the voice acting is solid and overall presentation is great. I enjoyed the gunplay and hacking mechanisms, I also enjoyed the fact I didn't have to mess around with stealth, if things go loud you don't fail the mission and run through it guns blazing if you choose.

The item upgrade system is fundamentally flawed, I was at level 47 when I finished the game and did as much side content as I could stomach but I still couldn't fully upgrade my items. If you pick up an EPIC gun early on and upgrade it, it can end up more powerful than if you pick up a legendary later.

Overall I enjoyed my second time around in this game, I expect the new DLC and rebalances will be good, the game is rough around the edges but in no way deserving of the nonsense 0/10 scores below, nor the ridiculous 10/10 scores.

Let’s start with the pros, Cyberpunk 2077 is beautiful, lush, and violent that have you wonder what will you do next in Night City as things gets more interesting after settling with your own creation of V. Night City is grand and gritty to get lost into, the three different story perspectives are engaging, and the activities and customization choices are limitless that perfectly defines how a perfect RPG game should be made. And yeah, Keanu Reeves and the killer soundtrack of this game makes you feel like a badass when completing quests or killing civies just like GTA. Cyberpunk 2077 is indeed really fun and kickass, but the poor gameplay performance made it very frustrating as bugs and constant frame rate drops makes the game unplayable on base PS4/XONE consoles, but for those that don’t mind can still try to have fun. Even though, this is the last major game for the eighth console generation, it’s honestly rather disappointing that all that hype just plummeted down like it was nothing. The PS4 and XONE still have good GPUs to run this at native 25-30fps like how Rockstar has perfected with Red Dead Redemption 2 and Naughty Dog perfected with The Last of Us Part II and Uncharted 4, but why can’t CDPR deeply optimize it like they did? And is this a proper sendoff to the eighth console generation then? Anyhow, we’re grateful that CD Projekt Red finally released the “Blade Runner” game we’ve always wanted and we already got it. It sure as hell it ain’t a masterpiece due to an unexpected disappointment regarding to poor performance on last gen consoles at launch, but the whole entire game design is by far the most prestigious piece of work I have ever played until the game’s properly patched up. So don't be fooled by the hate. The game is very much playable.
During the game I was charmed by the atmosphere and writing of the game. It is one of the best storytelling you will see in a game. Dialogues and characters are written perfectly. Every relation with NPCs in a game feels almost real. They are not just quest givers but after series of events they are becoming your friends.
The main plot may be not original but it is masterfully told with plenty of tension, relations, twists and atmosphere. All the side missions are worth doing and each arc has some unique flavor (detective work, nomadic families, houses of pleasure, braindances, netrunners).
When it comes to gameplay, I would say that, Cyberpunk 2077 is a great story, but at most decent game. Sometimes it feels like the developers fell in love with story so much that they forgot that the player should be in control. There are whole sections where it doesn't matter what you do or what dialogue option you choose. Moreover I was surprised that I didn't wanto to level up. The leveling system is so complicated and yet meaningless that I was never looking forward to gain a level. Same with random tasks in the open world - I didn't care about them. In theory each of them had some story behind them, but it was told only through a note or call log and got repetitive after a while.
But even with all these flaws I spent more than 100 hours in the game and didn't feel tired of it until the end quest. I can recommend Cyberpunk. I think that the hype did caused a lot of harm to the game. The expectation were too high.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. im currently playing on ps4 pro, digital copy of game.
patch 1.04 in place. played around 20 hrs so far, met with teke at cafe in main story.

hardest thing i found is searching for a place to give feedback on the game, to help get bugs fixed. that annoyed me to no end
however, what i have found of the game so far
    good points
story has pulled me in, and the world being built is very contagious. i can see where they have put the tabletop into place ie roll the dice, perk and skill tree etc
graphically looks amazing, and sounds so good.
music and tone is there. NPCs, random convos and background chatter is good. news and adverts are crazy but funny. hovering speech to see if ya miss is a good idea.
gun combat is fun, melee is bit crazy, dying light/dead island style. i can see ppl having a problem with this though.

    bad points
-ok, sometimes a NPC doesnt load/render properly, looks out of place but is quick to go most times.
-car driving is good so far, jackies bike can be a mess at times, other bikes so far seem fine.
-open menu, and back into game, tells me i have broken down items. every time.
    - had a bug with bugbear, if accidently dropped body, it warped to diff locations of buildings. or vanished
    - hacked a camera, and when in normal game, the camera options and normal options on screen, had to go back a few autosaves to fix. (fixed possibly with 1.04 patch)
game closed down a total of 5 times now, which aint great.

all of this though, im still playing it. i am giving it a go, as i do bloody like it. it has a lot of potential, and i think if we had a easy to find bug report location,
( i had to go to CD project red website. if i searched 'cyberpunk 2077 feedbag/bug report', went nowhere ) then i know CDPR will get on it and fix it.
looking at some of the 0 or red reviews, i find none of those helpful, except **** and griping and barely plauisble feedbacks at all.
at ACT 2, game came more alive, seemed to be more ppl in streets and more activities, so i wonder if ppl are going multiple places instead of main story, and nothing has opened up yet.
again, id feedback to block areas off a little, till a certain story mission is open, then act 2 hits, boom everyone there. but cant blame gamers for going off into the world, i tried it myself.

so far, fun to play, bugs dont overly stop play, except when that error occurs ( incidentially, same error and blue screen close happens in COD cold war, spiderman and outer worlds, games i played)
not 100 perc, but not as bad as people are saying it is.
red dead redemption had flying ppl, the witcher 3 had problems to, but then was fixed to epic proportions, the division had ubisoft stop everything for a year to fix
(plus most of ubisofts games including Valhalla) have had its problems.
again, the red reviews are a bit much in my eyes
    hope this helps you all

    Negative:
game is very crashy and very buggy. Story and world building is not on the same level as Witcher 3. Feels like too much stuff was cut out from world building it is not as vertical world as people say , and half of pasifica is unreachable no subway system.etc, feels like more than half of the main story was cut out and other stuff and just by watching trailers you can see lots of stuff that is missing, Where is trauma team and psycho squad? at least i did not encounter them except in cut scenes. World kinda looks and feels empty and this makes game less immersive. World size also feels unbalanced compared to difficulty of main storyline not enough story compared world size and side missions. after grinding side missions you can easily be too over powered at the point when you go to final segment of the game. it seems game was designed to be played trough in hurry without really going trough most of the side content. Or most of the main story was just cut out and there was no time to balance side content with main story for me many character arcs started around time just before final segment and those were harder in difficulty than the end segment feels kinda stupid.

    Positive:
Game runs smoothly on ps5 until it crashes suddenly about every 2 hours but no biggie it loads game fairly fast back.. Nightcity and world looks stunning, I loved the storytelling and character arcs and story choices i can make in the game. Gameplay mechanics are fun there is many possibilities for different play styles, and all of those seemed deep enough to dedicate one playthrough. NightCity at its best feels very alive, immersive and real specially at start of the game but after about 15 hours it starts to feel generic.

This game has some same issues that ff15 had except this game is not that bad it actually it is very good but very unfinished and unbalanced and over hyped. Just give CDPR some time and they will fix this mess for sure. It is just shame to see cdpr crash and burn like this they seriously have to fix their internal problems before making next game.

The reason I revised the score is because I've now played for 70 hours and (bugs aside) it is actually a pretty good game. Yes, there is a lot of cut content that CDPR lied about, yes there are a lot of half baked ideas, yes many things are shallow or unfinished. Yes the AI is absolute trash (it almost doesn't exist at all. Really bad). But if you can get past all that (and I understand many people won't) then its a great game.

The attention to detail in the content that is there is incredible, far beyond most other games I've played in my 25 years of gaming. The characters are also some of the best of any game, as is the music. The main story is a bit meh (again, feels rushed), but the individual story beats and side stories are fantastic. Hopefully they will flesh it out more in DLC... Also, many complaints about missing missions/unfinished quests are actually not true: you can end a questline without knowing by making the wrong choices. There IS player choice, its just not in your face (no "blah will remember this") and while I wish there was more and more impactful choices, its wrong to say they aren't there. The city is also quite fun to explore. The filler content annoyed me at first, just seemed to water down the good bits, but now on my second playthrough, I'm actually having a blast playing the filler. At the time of writing this, I've played about 90 hours and I'm far from finished.

Its also worth pointing out that there is still more content here than most games (ignoring the big competitors like red dead 2) and the quality of "most" of the (non-filler) content that's here is top notch. Its just overshadowed by many many shallow, half assed or downright cut features and the CDPR exec's lies. And the bugs. Oh god the bugs.

So in summary: its a good game, with lots of cut content. CDPR hyped it up with features that don't exist (they lied, you could say) and that's not acceptable. Its also a buggy mess which is not acceptable. But beyond all of that, there is some really great content that few other games have.

MY RECOMMENDATION: If you can ignore the bugs and shortcomings, play it, its great! But for most people, I recommend waiting a few months and seeing if the bugs get fixed and what (if any) extra content they add or cut content makes it back. Its a good game, but most people should wait.

    Original review:
I'll start with the good and work to the bad:

The good: story, characters, atmosphere and overall world are great. The writing is very good.

The neutral: most gameplay is decent. Not amazing, but not bad. Eg shooting is ok, driving is ok, etc. Nothing mind blowing, but not bad. Personally, I'm not a fan of first person shooting with RPG-damage numbers. I hate when I shoot someone in the head point blank and they don't die because it only did 200 damage instead of 300. If I shoot you in the head, I expect you to die. For this kind of game, I greatly prefer third person games. I don't mind first person, but I would have preferred third person.

Now for the bad and oh boy its bad: The game is a buggy mess. Seriously, not fit for purpose. It should never have passed certification. It crashes, it glitches, it freezes, it has rendering problems, audio problems. Lots and lots of problems. Overall, besides some crashes (approx. one every 5 hours) it hasn't been "game breaking", but it is annoying. Very very annoying.
And the graphics. Oh my **** god, how did they think this is passable? When the game scales its resolution down, eg when driving, it looks much worse than GTA5 (a 7 year old game!), its super low resolution, super grainy. Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone, Detroit, Red Dead 2 -- all of these games look far, far better.

Its a good game that should never have been released for current gen consoles and needs another year of development to fix bugs. Shame on CDPR for thinking they could get away with releasing this mess.

Characters are compelling and the story keeps you engaged. Night city is incredible! You really feel that you are in the future. Unfortunately the bugs are hurting it. T-posing, stuttering, characters getting stuck, lips syncing issues, items floating and flying, game crashes, frame drops, low quality textures and models, dumb enemies, sound bugs and etc. It required at least 2 or 3 months to fix the technical issues. CD Project Red said: “Coming when it’s ready”. I very disappointed at this beloved company, who seems to have a more friendly approach to gamers, unlike Activision and EA. If you are interested in the game do not buy it write now. Wait after they have released updates and patches.

My time spent in Night City has been, in a word, stellar. Sure, the occasional crashes, bugs, and frame-rate drops grew tedious, but nothing stole from my immense enjoyment of the game. If this is but a taste of what CD Projekt Red have in store for us as a growing developer, then I think everyone had better settle down. I guarantee CD Projekt Red will tamper with this game until it's perfect. I may not agree with the developer on several philosophical notes, but they are a hard-working game studio that puts out quality content.

    Some notes:

A few game systems are completely superfluous. I never engaged the crafting system during my playthrough.

The writing was hit and miss. All the "uhms," "errs," and "uhhs" used to recreate ordinary speech patterns only highlighted the weak dialogue. It surprised me to find typos in a few shards. Over-reliance on shock to carry narratives sometimes weakened the stories. So many characters committed suicide that it quickly became melodramatic. Touchy subject matter is best given its proper due, not only to respect those with close personal experiences, but to give the material weight. This juvenile tendency also jumped out in the preponderance of sex-related humor. Granted (as relayed to us by The Exploited) the punk aesthetic nurses sex and violence, the game tried so hard to be "adult" that it veered right back into juvenile. All that said, many of the stories were well-crafted with engaging characters, and they explored gritty subject matter many games avoid. Uncovering the dirty underbelly below the neon lights is key to the cyberpunk ethos. This the writers nailed.

Don't let the bad reviews scare you: This is a quality game, and if you can stomach Bethesda's buggy titles, this one will easily blow you away. As of now, it's a 7 due to the myriad technical issues plaguing the last-gen console version.

The performance trouble and the bugs are really immersion breaking. Every few minutes something happened that reminded me I was playing a game and not actually a smuggling nomad mercenary. I was so ready to become immersed in night city and what I managed to see I really like. The characters and design are superb. The soundtrack is immense and gameplay seems great when it works.

I hope that cdpr is still going to give a free upgrade to the ps5 version otherwise I've wasted £50.

But I must say that the ps4 version is very badly optimized: in closed spaces the graphics are fine but when you leave the apartment you realize that you are playing a ps3 level game since if you move away from an object at 50 meters it disappears. There are tons of graphic glyphs like disappearing npc and characters walking through the walls and freezing animations. After that the NPCs are few and the vehicles as well (this point gives a lot of night city atmosphere) but when you start hitting a group of NPCs the frame rate goes from 30 and drops down to 2 fps. Yea there is issues but those aside I love the Story, the Characters, the FPS and the side quests, I love night city and just how gorgeous it looks especially at night. I love the customization of the main character and able to full change anything about your character like adding new eyes for different skills or new arms. The crafting is pretty basic but I enjoy it and the skill tree again is basic but I like it.

Only reason it gets a 3/5 is because the game does need to be fixed, also the world isn't as interactive as I would have liked. Yeah theres buying cars but theres no "games" in the world. Nothing like Gwent that's for sure. In a game like this you except to have some side activities like pool, bowling, fishing, whatever so its not just a matter of jumping from mission to mission. I sort of expect CDPR to put that in the Free DLC coming but that should have been apart of the game overall, not an added feature.

Overall I do like the game and it runs fairly good on my ps4 but even I admit the game needs to be patched

Graphics - A little bit better upon the update but still,  this is not what expected and hopefully, they can solve this in the future updates.

Gameplay - During my 4+ hours of gameplay after the version 1.04 update, I haven't had any error or crashes, some bugs and glitches are still there (this game still needs a major fix and update) regardless, I still enjoy playing the game the even though I am not FPP type of gamer I have enjoyed the combat which is a great experience. Hacking is the one that I like the most and stealth is the least. I spent a lot of hours in this game and the majority of it is looting variety of types of weapons, junks. Character customization, felt like they could have done better than this since it is a massive RPG world they could've at least included a barbershop to customize your hair.

The great thing about this game is the story, specifically " the choices" is what literally makes it more exciting, fun, and enthralling.

For those who are planning to buy this on PS4 please keep it on hold, give it a few months to let CDPR fixes the problem via update/patches like they did to Witcher 3.

It's a 7/10 for me currently i was expecting that this game will be groundbreaking but it was the opposite though i am still hopeful that CDPR can turn this game around like they did to Wicher 3.

Just finished the game after playing 55 hours of content. I played as a male V and chose to finish the game with Panam Palmer.

***This sentence is a spoiler skip to the next paragraph if you want to avoid*** After looking up all the endings... I wish there was an actual happy ending.

As for the game itself, it's extremely fun, the story is interesting, the characters were great, and tons of side missions. However, there are a ton of bugs. I've crashed maybe 15-20 times from start to finish. The graphics look great but due to the world being so large, the graphics will look blocky and take a few seconds to load when entering a new location. Overall, I gave it a 7.2.

    How I graded the game:

10 points total: 1 point for graphics/lighting/models, 1 point for story/believability/flow, 1 point for gameplay, 1 point for characters/development, 1 point for music, 1 point for customizations, 1 point for time for completion/world, 1 point for content, 1 point for UI/fluidity, 1 point for emotional impact.

Misc Points: Can either drop or add up to one point.

    Graphics: .7
Due to some glitches, some pitch-black rooms, and blocky models that needed time to render when entering a new area. Overall, the game is pretty cool to look at.

    Story: .8
Very interesting characters, very dark story, and it's pretty believable. The flow of the game is controlled by the player. The only thing that bugged me are the endings. I won't go into details about it due to spoilers. Also, there was nothing in the game that blew my mind. There were many cool parts but nothing that made me say that's unforgettable.

    Gameplay: 1
Absolutely awesome! The game gives you many options on how to attack your opponents, handle situations, and how to progress in the game. The feel of the game is similar to that of Dying Light and COD put together. The gameplay is pretty smooth and pretty simple to learn.

    Characters: 1
There are so many characters that are likable and those that'll make you angry. All kinds of characters in this game. Very believable and the voice actors did a good job as well.

    Music: .6
Honestly, the only song I remember is the main menu theme. However, in-game, the songs seem to fit the feel of what the game is trying to present.

    Customization: 1
So much here. So much freedom to killing enemies or knocking them out to guns blazing or assassination. Item upgrades, character skill upgrades, weapons, etc. There's a ton here.

    Time of Completion: 1
I usually play my first run with some side quests and there are limitless amounts of side quests. The open-world map is huge as well. You'll be putting a lot of hours playing this game.

    Content: 1
There are so many things you can do. Side quests, random encounters, main story, collecting cars, crafting weapons, a lot of side characters, etc. There's a lot here.

    UI: .6
Honestly, the UI was confusing at first, and took some time to remember where everything is. Also, the UI load times can vary. Sometimes it's fast, sometimes it's slow, and sometimes it'll glitch. As for the setup, it fits the game though. The color scheme fits the feel of the game.

    Impact: .5
It's not going to wow you. Everything is pretty predictable if you pay attention. Nothing really hit me. There's a lot of cool factor in this game but that was about it. Some urgency here and there, some dark stuff, some perverted stuff, but not too many memorable parts. If I had to be honest, my favorite part of the game was really the beginning when you're with Jackie.

    Total so far: 8.2

    Misc. Points: -1
The game has a lot of flaws. Glitches, crashes, slow loads, blocky models that needed time to render, etc.

    Total: 7.2

On paper, it's the perfect game for me, combining different elements from a few of my favorites. It has an amazing open world that is on par with the likes of GTA V and RDR2, as well as the in-depth skill trees and intensive character creation similar to Skyrim. But there are just too many flaws in this game that prevent it from earning that 10/10 score. Lets start with the bad stuff and get that out of the way.

The bugs and crashes are the biggest thing. I think we all know this by now. Granted, I did get to play this on PS5, so I didn't notice too many bugs and the performance was a lot better than some of the videos I've seen on social media (I haven't seen a single T-pose in 75+ hours). However, the game probably crashed on me about once per hour on average, which is absolutely ridiculous.

The graphics were another low point for me. They were just pretty good, and in 2021, pretty good = terrible. I was hoping for much better graphics and AI for a PS5 title, but it just felt like an old generation game, and when I say old generation, I mean PS3, not PS4. When I started, I had just finished Spider-Man: Miles Morales, in which the graphics were absolutely amazing. So for this to be such a step-down was that much more disappointing.

Ok enough complaining, lets talk about some of the things I liked (loved).

The setting and scope of this game are unreal. I know I just got done trashing the graphics, but some of the sights in Night City were in fact breathtaking. The design of the city and its aesthetic are some of the best I've seen in any video game ever. It's sometimes nice to just stop and listen to the sounds of city, it's definitely when the game feels most immersive. Credit to CD Projekt Red, the vision they had for this game was incredibly ambitious, and in a lot of ways, it paid off.

Next, the gameplay. I had a lot fun taking the "hacker" role and building my character's skills and attributes around that. Cyberpunk gives you a lot of freedom as to how to approach each mission, so I found endless ways to hack into enemy cameras, cyberware, and even their minds in order to defeat them. No matter which play-style you choose, there are more than enough obtainable skills and mods to enhance your character as you continue through the story, and with the completion of enough side missions, it's very possible to be an absolutely unstoppable super-soldier by the time you reach the final mission.

Lastly, I'd like to give some praise to the story that is told in Cyberpunk 2077. The main plot is engaging throughout, and it is very evident that the decisions you make affect the narrative (so quicksave often!). Many of the side missions hold their own agency within the story as well, so be careful who you befriend and who you don't! Overall, it tells an effective and enjoyable story that certainly holds its own against other games.

All in all, at times I love this game and at times I hate it. I will say that even though I've finished the story and i'm 75+ hours in, I am not done playing by any means. I still have A LOT of stuff to do in Night City, and I'm looking forward to it!

    Overall Score: 7.3/10

Wish people didn't see CDPR as some god tier development studio because they put out one great game, which also had many issues at launch. Played on PS5 and it ran well, but crashed a lot and had quest bugs. The story itself is pretty good and does some unique things.

Overall Rockstar is yet to be dethroned when it comes to open worlds due to Night City feeling empty and the NPCs sharing one brain cell among them with perhaps 6 lines repeated over and over again when I press "talk". I also hold a firm belief that most of the marketing and night city videos lied to us and although I own a PS5 there was shady practices conducted on the older consoles especially with console footage not being allowed in reviews. To start this is the ps4 version on ps5 that im playing .. ive encountered quite a few bugs but nothing particularly game breaking BUT the constant crashes on ps5 is ridiculous it without fail crashes every few hours which is very disappointing .... i expected bugs but the crashes can annoy me ..NOW for the game itself hmm where to start ... the good ...night city and the badlands etc are amazing to see and play though sooo much stuff to do ( so many side quests ) etc its mind bending i really enjoy the game play weapons are great and its great to try different builds ..BUT sadly thats where the the good ends everything else is mediocre at best or bad ... where to start driving yeah its not bad car and bike physics can seem a little off ( but are we using gta as the benchmark ) factions lol what factions they meant absolutely nothing ! the police well they were nothing they either spawned from every where and destroyed you or your got in a car and lost them in 10 meters down the road ... it truly feels that simple fundamentals that gta 5 have got right have been poorly exacuted here or just left out on all together ..1. car customizing 2. saving a stolen car at the very least 3. character in game customizing doesnt exist at all ( diff if there a set character but with being able to make V you should be able to customize in game ) 4. with such a huge amount of loot with diff outfits to be made there should have been a way to make your fav outfit legendary though upgrading/ crafting even to the point that some of the guns while being the same have different colours which would match you outfit but sadly there common or greens its bad... now on the story ( some spoliers ) while all the characters were well voiced and portrayed johnny silverhand annoyed the hell out of me towards the end the im a voice in your head got so old and annoying it the end that i picked the which i now belive to be the best ending in the game ( i will get to that soon ) the storyline was great interesting and loveable side characters that helped and it was well written to a degree BUT some things felt un finished or halve arsed like one character just seemed to die of camera which was very stupid being as he was part of the big picture.... now for the ending of which ive personally played though 3 different endings and have seen on you tube all 7 the first one i choose was the blow my fn brains out purely because the game couldnt give me a clear answer for a happy ending its funny because there all fn grim its stupid ..there is truly no good ending in the game its ridiculous ... so i stand by my first choice of ending it as the best choice.. i do not expect not unlike life to have every ending a happy ending BUT i play games to feel like ive accomplished something for my character .. and in cyberpunk i dont it feels like a waste of effort at the end of the game what ever choice !! in conclusion i rate this as a poor 7 out of 10 its got some charms and some truly amazing parts but it feels like cd red just bit off far to much to make this a master piece ... i truly feel sorry for last gen console owners that are having so many issues i must admit though its ;like trying to play any game made in the last 2 years on a ps3 or 360 its not going to work as it should and cd red should have made the call next gen and pc only..MY suggestion is to wait on this game cd red will fix the bugs and sort this ive got faith in that and at some point a bit of give and take needs to be given as they got death threats for pushing back the release now getting burnt for bugs CANT HAVE BOTH !!! The quest designs, the characters and people. Hell I've even fallen for the gunplay. But this game as we all know has a very big problem Its very bad on the base ps4 and judging from some screenshots. It's not that good on the ps5 either, atleast visually. From frame rate drops, to blurry visuals, to crashes and people floating here and there, this game basically has it all. However, there is room for improvement since CD project red, gave an 18 gb update just a day after launch that significantly made the game better. I for one, had no crashes, and just a little frame rate issues when I was driving but certainly not as bad as before. Due to the update, I'm confident, that this game will be patched in the coming future and will be more than playable. On pc, the game is simply a masterpiece. And it's important to mention, that regardless of the bugs, crashes, fps drops, and visuals, I am in love with this game and I haven't been able to put it down. The game is a 6 to 7 in my humble opinion on the older gen, but itl soon be 9 with the updates. As far as the pc is concerned, 11/10. The side quests, the main quests, absolutely brilliant. The characters are more than memorable, they feel like actual people with personalities. The only thing two things I have a problem with is, 1) the driving is pretty meh and 2) there is unnecessary nudity and sexual content ( which I'm sure alot of u wont mind lol) nevertheless. Yes, it's a bit glitchy still... most likely when you arrive at a destination too quickly.
Simply chill out a few moments, everything loads, then you're good-to-go. The game notwithstanding is great! (easily a 9 without the glitches n' problems). So many choices, so many paths to take. Great immersion. Great story. Loved V (male),

I have concerns only about optimization and resolution. its acceptable to play on PS4, but around the V`s home and in City Center - FPS is unstable.

Really, CDPR was pressured by investors, executives, and yes even its FANS to put out an unfinished game. This doesn't free them from their responsibility or errors, but what do you expect when everyone continues to push push push for a AAA game to be put out immediately. The main storyline of this game isn't super long but the game itself is EXPANSIVE. The details in the city, the options, the sidequests, the gigs, etc. I think that the story of the game is great, the voice acting is great, the graphics on the PS5 are great. Once the bugs are worked out and CDPR has a chance to actually FINISH it I think this would be an award winning game and probably a 9 or 10 in my mind. So its sad that its history will forever be marred by the messed up launch.

So if you have a PS5 or are on a PC I think the game is pretty solid and I have enjoyed it a ton. Playing the game is actually a blast when you get through a stretch with no bugs. I've went through 2 endings already and I'm starting a fresh play through with a different character background and the story is already very different then the one I started. So the potential is there to put hundreds of hours into this game.

So I very much look forward to CDPR polishing this up, providing some free DLC to make up for their mistakes, and putting out an updated PS5 version in 2021

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is a 8.5 to me. Because of the poor performance, underwhelming graphics and bugs on this console version, I can unfortunately not rate it more than a 7, not yet at least. This game is really something. The lows are of the game a rather obvious once you've played it. Having played RPGS like FFVIIR or Ghost of Tsushima this year I think the lesson is that a modern RPG has to follow a simple rule to shine, the rule is "meaningfull mechanics". Take FFVIIR for example, six weapons for each character, take Ghost of Tsushima with just one single transport mechanic. This games biggest problem it's that I gloated, overlooting weapons make them have little significance, I would have rather be given one single copy of each weapon, maybe just 2 or 3 for missable purposes, and have a level system with each weapon or a progression line with each one through crafting. It would make a single weapon more meaningful, instead I spent a total of probably hours looting and throwing away weapons I was really never going to use. FFVIIR has a weapon system where every single one has an explicit purpose, each weapon has its own tactical advantages and it's own progression. Ghost of Tsushima has one weapon, and it's progression is meaningfull and fitting to the setting, in many cases less is more, it is the case here. With transport they didn't do a bad job, yet it's simply not original. Find cars, buy them , you'll use one you like, period. Yet for example oT has one single transport, and it's incredibly meaningful within the story. The Devs of Cyberpunk fell into the trap of staying within the confines of classic open world RPG, just fill it up no matter the cost. The other heavy criticism I have is choices, CDPR is obviously famous for their dialogue choice mechanics, take the Witcher, this game has them too, but it does not expand in the concept. It seems to be that it is this way by design, to make the game more Accessible to non RPG gamers, so people that expect a cyberpunk GTA don't find themselves playing a cyberpunk Witcher, yet this is the only place in the game where it seems they made that compromise, therefore I cannot praise it.

Where does this game shine tho?, Because it shines, it seriously shines. Action is the rule of the game, be it stealth or hacking or shooting or melee. Therefore you get used to the mechanics fast, it doesn't impact too much, except for bosses. But the slow parts of the game are unforgettable. Having a conversation with a joytoy programmed to suit your personal psyche through a psychological interface. Romancing an incredible character that vibrates with life and is a part of this **** up world. Dealing with a consciousness that's implanted in your brain which kills you little by little, making you doubt him, the situation you are in, and yourself. Finding characters and realising their trajectory in life won't be an idealised action game life, but a cruel and gruesome experience that may take them through the worst a human pain can create, ending their willingness to live at all. The technological and historical significance of the events in this game, portraying the direction of modern culture and it's relationship with technology, describing the fall of empires, societies and humanity, while portraying the birth of literal godship and death bending power. The moment the game makes you realise what faith really means when you meet an actor playing Christ. The moment you realise the red pill can only mean death. This game makes you realise that life is nothing without gut, and that indecision and hesitation are your worst enemies. This game will make you laugh, it will make you think, it will scare you to death, it will make you fear yourself. Its shown me in a ver blunt way, that only by taking on life on your own terms you'll be able to accept it.

It's an amazing game, and it is this good with its immense flaws. If I had to make a conclusion about this game it would be very simple. It just wasn't ready. I will replay again once the next gen versions and DLCs and such come out, if you haven't played this yet and you're reading this, play it, trust me. You'll see the problems and you won't care, you'll keep playing until you either beat all og it or die inside. It's really **** good. I cried with the devil ending btw.

I give a 5 only because the story really did catch me. But the game crashes every time I play it. FPS drops happen too often, technically it’s a mess. CD Projekt RED I wish you the best, but this game right now doesn’t deserve any better...

This game is a mess of bugs I haven't had any major bugs as of yet the most I have gotten is the game loading the area in 10 seconds or less before I can't clearly see the NPC or buildings and vehicles, now before I get attacked by others who are playing this game on BASE ps4 I myself am also playing on a semi base ps4 non-shiny top (the one between the base and the slim) and the reasonThis game is a mess of bugs I haven't had any major bugs as of yet the most I have gotten is the game loading the area in 10 seconds or less before I can't clearly see the NPC or buildings and vehicles, now before I get attacked by others who are playing this game on BASE ps4 I myself am also playing on a semi base ps4 non-shiny top (the one between the base and the slim) and the reason for the high score is basically for the amazing story and how it makes you actually care what happens to most NPC's including yourself (V aka Vincent). If it wasn't for the bugs, glitches and crashing it would have gotten a 9 or 10 from me. So I'm not trying to defend the game by all means you vote as you vote but at least give the game the benefit of doubt and actually (try) to play it and immerse yourself in the storytelling of the game. После патча 1.05 дела на PS4 Pro улучшились. Далеко не идеально, но уже играбельно. Оценку поднимаю и жду (хотя осадок все равно останется) дальнейших изменений.

You really cannot play. Waiting for this game since 2012 and I'll wait for it to be repaired. Gameplay and scenario is great, technically it's a mess.

Cyberpunk 2077 na ps4 wygląda jak GTA V na ps3. Jestem przekonany, że CD projekt Red mógłby znacznie poprawić grafikę i optymalizacje.

I played for about 5 hours and I really like it. But the game has big problems on the technical side. I play on PS5 and the game crashes a lot. In addition, there is not a native version, but backward compatibility from PS4 with poor graphic settings.

I recommend waiting for patches and native versions for next generation consoles.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I’m playing it on ps4 pro, it has so many bugs and blurry in distance and often you should wait around 15 seconds to game render things around you but this game is fantastic despite all that.
Story is amazing and gig(side quests) are even better.dialogue system is amazing although it doesn’t impact the storyline or environment but it’s still so much fun to experience.
I don’t recommend it on ps4 and ps4 pro but i know after some patches and updates it will look amazing to play on next gen consoles.
This game is awesome but we don’t have the right tool to play it on, if you want to feel how incredible it is on next gen just go to badlands on current gen, because it’s the only location that runs smoothly on ps4 and ps4 pro but night city itself is so messed up right now, meanwhile i really enjoy it despite all bugs and problems.
Let’s not insult a developer who intends to push open world gaming to a higher level and encourage them to fix problems with upcoming patches. Show this diligent crew some respect

An amazing story-driven immersive RPG with amazing characters, incredible world design, atmosphere and art style.
My personal experience played on base PS4 slim version (1.02 & 1.04) -Technical
For me the frame-rate is the worst thing about this console launch. This affects driving and combat ofcourse, which makes the gameplay feel clunky at times. I've experienced 7 game crashes,

For me the frame-rate is the worst thing about this console launch. This affects driving and combat ofcourse, which makes the gameplay feel clunky at times. I've experienced 7 game crashes, plenty major visual bugs out of which only one sort-of game braking. Another dozen of minor visual bugs like tips message box remaining on screen even after a game restart, certain clothing clipping and obscuring my field of view, bad textures that never pop. I've never experienced any T-poses or any of those infamous horrifying NPCs that look like they're on ps1. Mostly my experience so far was ok and I don't really relate with all those problems other people are having. On a technical aspect I am satisfied with the number of cars and NPCs. even if they do repeat the models.

The resolution for me was a surprise to say the least. 720p ~ 900p..?? but after I spend some more time I realized that this might have been a compromise for the graphics. I am very pleased with what CDPR pulled off with the visual aspect of the game, it is a beautiful game that showcases one last time what this last generation is capable of. And I am ok with a visual effects compromising resolution!

    -Game Design
    It's just a video game.
My early expectations of the game might have been too high but as the game approached release I started chiseling those expectations by comparing them with what is found in The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt. I expected Cyberpunk 2077 to be a revolution regarding open-world games, a topic that for me Witcher 3 didn't check either. The world is incredibly immersive and the cyberpunk atmosphere and aesthetic is all there but I expected Cyberpunk to be more of a Bethesda game than a Witcher game which is unfair. This comparison is due to the fact that the civilian NPCs are basically random and feel like a staging not like a simulation, they feel like cutout cardboard people in a theatre play instead of actors. This is effect is due to the fact that the same NPC model is present in the same scene more than once and in some rare instances more than that. I found that the interaction with these random civilian NPCs is very shallow, they have only one or two brief uninteresting and often hostile lines of monologue. I honestly anticipated CDPR to treat these NPCs this way because I knew how they designed their games and it's ok.

I love the call/messaging system that reminds me of GTA 4 and 5. I feel like this is mandatory in any story driven open world in a modern city setting. I think they also nailed the economy system.

The choice and consequence system is great but it isn't a big improvement from what we saw with Witcher 3 doesn't really live up to the scale and branching I expected.

I also expected a great story, side quests and characters. And I am happy to say that I am more than pleased with this aspect than expected. The writing is great and I would advise to read all those notes, little stories and desktop emails you find scattered all over the world because it gives more context and depth to the world and some minor NPCs. My only critique story wise is how V is pretty much very scripted if that makes sense. But then again that is a design choice and might help cohesiveness.

I really expected more from them on the RPG mechanics side, they feel shallow sometimes. And I would've liked the attribute system to be more meaningful. It's not bad by any means but I am personally not satisfied, maybe it'll grow on me.

    -Conclusion
Aside form all the bugs and performance issues, I really love this game for everything it is, the setting, the stories, the characters and despite of a lot more missed opportunities that I didn't mention. No game is perfect, there always has to be a compromise somewhere.

As a gag, I consider Cyberpunk 2077 to be the child of GTA5, The Witcher 3 and Fallout 4.

Well, if the game was playable that rating would br much higher. The game looks like absolute rubbish on PS4, if you played a game with ultra low graphic mode on your old pc you will understand what I am saying. Edit: The game looks so much better at 1.05 and I finished main story/ most of the side quests. The game is good, It's not a RDR2 but it is a really good game except being a short game.

I had a mixed feeling at the very first glance but after the fix 1.04 it is playable and I am having much fun with it. One should not expect that the latest title will run smoothly on what to say very old hardware. For me, it is fine enough.

Let’s get this straight: the story is very, very good and it is really the only thing that keeps me from deleting this game for good. However... the absolute shambles state the game is in right now renders it near enough unplayable at times. Makes you wonder why they kept delaying it and this must be the reason. They said they’ll release it when it’s ready but clearly the game isn’t polished as they’d like it to be. Hopefully future patches improve these problems but I doubt it will entirely be fixed until they release the next-gen versions sometime in the future. Overall, good game, being let down by the state it is in right now. Expand

Cyberpunk is honestly not bad, in terms of story, environment, and gunplay, it's awesome, but in the technical side of things, we have alot of issues, just as everyone, I encountered bugs and glitches along the way but they were short and not gamebreaking, btw I played it on a ps4 pro and it runs alright, my biggest problem in Cyberpunk is how empty it felt, I didnt see much people and theCyberpunk is honestly not bad, in terms of story, environment, and gunplay, it's awesome, but in the technical side of things, we have alot of issues, just as everyone, I encountered bugs and glitches along the way but they were short and not gamebreaking, btw I played it on a ps4 pro and it runs alright, my biggest problem in Cyberpunk is how empty it felt, I didnt see much people and the world felt a little short from what they promised.
Graphics look ok, nothing spectacular. I would've given this game a 10 or a 9 if it weren't for the bugs, although they were minor, they got in the way alot. So yeah, not bad, 7/10

I launched Cyberpunk 2077 on my PS4 Slim several weeks after the release and most of the bugs were fixed, so I was able to play the game from start to finish. However, the quality of textures was painfully low, I usually had only 20-22 frames per second while driving around the city (with dips below 20), and some objects tended to disappear. The technical state and graphics of the PS4 version are awful, which is a shame, because the game itself has one of the best stories I have ever encountered, its gunplay is really good, and Night City is very impressive. Cyberpunk 2077 is a game brimming with potential, and it damn near reaches it on so many occasions, but the pitfalls of its development ultimately drag it down. There's still a lot to like here for RPG fans and lovers of the genre, but it's far from the generation-defining masterwork that the world was waiting for.
