    This game have some bad things like a bad optimization and minor bugs, but Borderlands 3 still be best loot and shoot game (except Destiny 2) All the problems of this game can be solved, because of that 910 now, and 1010 after patches that will solve them

    So much fun. I mean the game has over a billion guns, and they all feel unique and useful for different scenarios. The loot system is a great design. The campaign is also alot of fun with friends.

    This game is overhyped trash. I was a huge fan of Borderlands 2, but this sequel failed hard. Skip it, and any Gearbox games.

Играю с самых первых частей - и даже если будет выпущена новая часть - обязательно возьму. Нравится мне этот дикий дикий мультяшный мир в коопе !!!!!Если честно - игра классная, сюжет (+продолжение) охотников - зачет. Есть свои нововведения, что проявило интерес.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've reached Promethea and have played a few hours there and I'm pretty disappointed in this game. I'm not thrilled with any of the Vault Hunters but am playing the Beast Hunter as you 3 pet helpers (one would have been good enough!). One thing I find is that the level up menus are ridiculously complicated as are the fast travel menus. More is not always better. Maybe its just me but I'm also having a hard time reading anything on the screen and I'm about 6 feet away from the TV. The blurb for the guns is hard to read and usually an ugly color (too much black and red lettering). You have to step back to read the whole description when going to pick it up. I haven't gotten any purple or gold guns yet either. It's hard to see what kind of gun they are, too, as the actual gun does not match the symbol for the gun (shotgun, pistol, etc.). Ammo and cash zips into your inventory and you don't even get a chance to see what it is!! Some money is yellow and some is black & white!!!??? The humor is forced and fairly stupid. I was shocked at the voice of the female villain! She sounds like a Valley Girl not an evil villain. One of my biggest disappointments is the music in Moxxxie's bar! I want that cool techno vibe and this one is playing low key mood music!! I hate it!! I've not experienced any glitches (playing on PS4 regular gold version) just disappointed in story, characters, guns, dialog boxes, colors of guns, and other cosmetic things. Additionally, there is so much color spray from enemy weapons and fireworks all over the place that makes it hard to see the enemies. Good things are - Shooting, instant ammo purchase from machines and the cars are easy to drive as in the previous games. This game is not a 10! Far from it. Borderlands 2 was much better.… Expand

    Gameplay, looting and shooting mechanics 9/10. Graphics 8/10. Story and dialogue 1/10. Optimization and technical issues 6/10. Game is a lot of fun, but the story is incredibly cringey and not even remotely as funny as BL2 was.

Triple A publishers lie to you every time they tell you that micro-transactions are necessary to fund these kinds of games. If you want a particular gun in Borderlands 3, just keep playing and having a blastFor better or worse, Borderlands 3 looks and plays like Borderlands 2.     UPDATE: Just wanted to break into my old review to talk about the multi-player and end game. Borderlands 3 is just not as popular as Borderlands 2, and matchmaking for co-op activities suffers for it. Both my friends list and matchmaking are a ghost town. End game also lacks a reason for existing. You can play harder modes for better loot but that only leads to harder modes for better loot. And most of the harder modes are just enemies spamming rocket launchers or going immune (Anointed). Worse, whenever the level increases, all that loot will be moot. The game needs better end-game activities sooner rather than later. I fear that by the time Gearbox introduces something great like a raid, there will be no one left to play it. END UPDATE

    The shooting itself feels better than classic borderlands. Some guns have more aim assist than others, but you never feel like that game is playing against you like some RPGs in the past. Shooting doesn’t feel quite as “crispy” as Destiny, but the guns in Borderlands are much more varied and fun than the guns in Destiny. The enemies are also much more varied, and different guns and strategies are a must. Much of time, its fun just to go through areas and shoot stuff.

    If loot-box free gameplay is a leftover from last gen, the graphics in Borderlands 3 are a relic. The art style is not the problem. Back in Borderlands 1, the art style was fresh. It is still fresh. Don’t believe me? Look up Borderlands cosplay. The art style also complements the visual and audio jokes in the game. But the lighting, textures, and frame rates are all subpar. I’ve played remasters that look better than this. Maybe this is the result of the long development cycle (7 years) or reliance on an outdated game engine. The game simply doesn’t look near as polished as most games that release at the end of a console cycle.

    Finally, the multi-player is a mixed bag. Like in earlier Borderlands games, you can “party up” with 3 other players and roll through content together. No need for special strikes or raids. You simply join up and increase the difficulty at your desire. Loot can also be shared equally so everybody wins. It’s fun to join up with friends and take down bosses for legendary loot. Joining up with random players is not so fun. 9 of 10 matchmaking sessions end with getting kicked by the host player. I think most players don’t realize that other players can join them. I don’t mind if someone jumps in my game and helps me fight bosses. But I guess I’m not most people. Peer-to-peer is an issue. Bungie abrogated peer-to-peer in Destiny by making Bungie the host for its matchmake game types. Hear, there is the ever present danger of a host kicking you before the loot explosion. This yet another example of the last gen game design in a world dominated by dedicated services.

    All-in-all, Borderlands 3 is a fun game to play and I recommend it. The game is especially nice for anyone tired of the business model of modern day games. I don’t just mean the battle royals scene. Games-as-a-service games are exhausting. It’s nice to enjoy playing a game for the sake of playing it.    … Expand

    I loved BL2. I mostly play with my wife on co-op splitscreen and we have completed the story twice already, playing through a third time now on True Vault Hunter Mode.

    The good: - Gameplay - It's really great, the battles can get so crazy to the point you can't even see what you're shooting but it's somehow really, really fun to play. - Future Updates - Gearbox updated and added so    I loved BL2.     The bad:
    - The story - It's not entertaining at all, it's slow in places and really badly written.
    - Technical issues - on PS4 splitscreen you basically freeze when you open any menu.It is so annoying and frankly it should be fixed by now. The game crashes frequently. I played in single player and it wasn't so bad but if you want to play co-op wait until the game is fixed.
    -End-game - At the moment it consists of replaying wave defense type scenarios and once you've done that, you increase the difficulty and do it again for more loot. It is fun but it does get repetitive.    … Expand

Then you realize that half the game is bugged, half the skills are not functional, the patches are ridiculous and ruining the game, an entire character is unplayable, mayhem mode makes no sense and it's better to just save + quit until you get good modifiers (because the modifier system right now is dumb as hell. -50% dmg to all guns! +50% dmgThe game is enjoyable until you hit level 50. It is a decent game, more borderlands but a lot of the Cameo characters feel like they were thrown in last min, some missions get stuck or glitch and require closing the game and opening it up again. Had some lag issues and also a weird glitch that makes my name and my group members names fly around the screen constantly which is not only distracting and annoying. I also feel that they killed off characters just to kill them off with characters making some very dumb decision that i felt was really forced. Endgame is already boring me and my friends who have already hit LVL 50 and gotten all the legendaries they want im currently LVL 47 with my other friend being 49 and it just feels like a chore to us to play the game to gather legendaries and match making takes a longtime as well, if anyone thinks its my internet i got 300 mbs download and 50 mbs upload speeds. But in conclusion it is more borderlands not a bad thing but it just feels like it could have been more.… Expand

    I liked B1, loved B2 and TPS was okay but B3s is just MEH, the writing is terrible all characters are either total DUDE-BRO DOUCHE BAGS or utterly forgettable, the new character (the kid) is just a whiny irritating boring nobody who added nothing to the game that others could not have done better, then there was the framerate issues and all    DISSAPPOINTING boring and coop is total garbage.

    i love borderland games, although i did not like the bosses in this game and the way it ended but was still super fun to play. needs a lot of DLC to make it a fantastic game.... like tiny tinas adventure... that was awesome. i didn't like the arena things though where you just in one spot and those flying turds are hard to kill - they are way to fast, hard to hit, and they can kill you ini love borderland games, although i did not like the bosses in this game and the way it ended but was still super fun to play. needs a lot of DLC to make it a fantastic game.... like tiny tinas adventure... that was awesome. i didn't like the arena things though where you just in one spot and those flying turds are hard to kill - they are way to fast, hard to hit, and they can kill you in one hit. took a group of 4 just to kill one that took 20 min. but overall i still liked the game… Expand

    I have played borderlands almost nonstop since the original came out. As in, a new game comes out, I play it, beat it, back to borderlands. I've played with friends, solo, online, and I always loved the experience. Blds 1 and 2, are absolute must plays in my book.     Now, I'm about halfway through BL3 and I have to say... getting similar vibes to the pre-sequel. You might argue that Im not fit to give a critique having not beat it, but right now... Im not sure I WILL beat it. Granted, they really improved on sound, added maybe a little more variety on weapons (though some of the new weapon sub-types are completely worthless) but overall, it feels very same-y.

    The sense of getting new and better loot consistently has kinda disappeared, and only seems to happen on occasion. It feels like there are way fewer sidequests and areas to discover, even if some might argue its the biggest of all the games. The story is pretty garbage (like always).

    To ME, the biggest problem is the new skill system. Each character has three trees as always, but from the few chars I've looked at, the trees dont always have a synergy between them. And some of the skills are just plain pointless. Ive been using the Siren so far, and Im currently deciding which of the second trees for me to choose is the least garbage.

    I could nitpick for a while, given my past love for the series, but in the end, I have to say its an OK addition, but one I would have probably waited for a sale if I was able to play a little beforehand.    … Expand

    Gameplay is amazing but Co Op is BROKEN. I am playing on a PS4 Pro and every time I try to play either locally or online with friends, the lag and FPS drops make the game UNPLAYABLE. Wait until after the patches to get this game.

The new engine, the gameplay, the look, all are worthy of the franchise. But the writing is absolutely terrible.     Borderlands 3 improved in every ways (except for the villans) from Borderlands 2.

    However, Borderlands 2 deserved GOTY back then, but Borderlands 3 is being received badly because of the times have changed.

    Gamers not only want more, but they want different.

    Borderlands 3 failed to deliver (different) part.

    But if you have enjoyed Borderlands 2 like me, you will love this game.

It's story is pretty average an forgettable which is fine I guess for a Borderlands game. Buts it's end game content blows. Mayhem is just a bunch of random modifiers that might or might not destroy your build. If you find a cool playstyle mayhem is guaranteed to destroy it. 140 legendaries are world drops. So if you want a certain legendary rather than having a source to farm it from you have to farm one boss over and over until you maybe get it. Even then it might have a crappy annointment or no annointment at all. And the game doesn't run that great on all platfors. The menus are laggy and borderline unusable. The game is really just a bunch of negatives compared to bl2.… Expand

    I love borderlands series and have spent countless hours on the games. My partner and I love couch co-op games, so this is a big disappointment. How can they release such laggy game? My game crashed twice within 2 hours, the menu freezes a lot, loading time is slow, and I have to wear glasses to be able to read the text! Please fix this asap!

    Bought this game for the splitscreen Coop. Horizontal splitscreen is basically unplayable. Very disappointed that there is no vertical splitscreen option. Have played once for 30 mins, given up and not touched again.

    UI is completely innavigable and gives no instructions to users. I just want to play the damn game. Idk what happened to all the UX people, but any change shows in this product. Outside of gameplay, this game is complete hassle.

    So disappointed in this game, I played it for about 5 hours with friends and decided to sell it. Absolute trash story line and character development, very laggy menus and dissatisfying gun combat, will stay away from borderlands games in the future.

    The graphics are okay. The guns all look ridiculous, though.     The graphics are okay. The guns all look ridiculous, though. Now every gun except for the easily identifiable rocket launchers and Jakob's shotguns look like these weird alien guns.

    The gameplay is annoying. The enemies blend into the environments and the shooting is unsatisfying.

    None of the 4 playable characters clicked with me, like several did in every other game. None of the characters are fun at all for me, so it feels kind of hollow when I play.

    Guns. They suck. Any decent weapon requires a ridiculous amount of farming, or luck. Legendary guns drop like blues dropped in previous Borderlands installments. That is not an exaggeration. Also, guns have anoints. Now, you can't just farm a gun with some good parts. You need a gun with the right anoint, which doesn't always drop. These anointed guns can do more than double the damage of the original, essentially forcing you to just use what you get instead of what you want.

    Oh yeah, the story sucks. Lilith is essentially Roland, except that Roland was always weirdly calm and leader-like, that was his character. It was interesting. Lilith is just monotonous and annoying. She lost all personality in favor of constantly calling over the player to talk to her.    … Expand

    As this game sits now it’s a 6/10, this game is plagued with horrible frame rate issues on PC,PS4 and Xbox one, which is sad because the game is actually a lot of fun, the writing and voice acting is superb and it’s quite funny, the gun play is smooth and fluid, the guns all feel amazing and look amazing too.

    Don't listen to all the hate. Amazing game, beautiful visuals, great mechanics and characters that can be played in so many ways. If you like looter shooters this is a must have in your game library. I've played through all 3 and they just keep getting better.

    If you liked borderlands 2 you will love this game. They basically improved on everything. Graphics are noticeabley better, I recomend playing on performance. Movement, climbing, sliding is awesome. Looting is quicker, you don't have to spam the loot button. Guns feel great. And it still has that great borderlands charm.

I don’t understand why people are indignant, but I really hope that such a hard start will pay off in full. The stars must shine

    Why are is vertical split screen not an option? I honestly feel offended that gear box over looked this feature. Borderlands was one of the only games you could literally sit down next to your friends (In Person not online) and play a Good Co-op game, please don’t ruin this for us. My wife is heart broken.

    I am playing on a PRO (really glad I got one at this point because so many games need it) and I want to start of by saying I really love this game but I am upset with Gearbox for screwing up the couch co op. How they didn't play test it is beyond me and they really botched the launch of this game for a lot of people. That sucks and I feel bad for all the people who were let down. They aren't salty, they are rightfully mad for the bad co op and frame rate drops.

    Now, for me, I love the game. It's amazing. There ARE minor frame rate drops when I open the menu and and a drop or two in battle after 6 hours of gameplay but nothing that can't be fixed. Where it matters the game is fantastic. They improved and polished the shooting and looting mechanics to a ridiculous level, which is impressive giving that this area was already so amazing in BL2.

    The gun play, sliding and mantling all feel stellar as well and the graphics are just fantastic. I play on performance mode because there is little difference to the eye from HD to 4k. I really am loving this game beyond what I had hoped.

    Having said that Gearbox needs to fix the issues STAT because they may have already ruined this launch for many people especially after the PR nightmare they had all the way up to the lead up release    … Expand

    Very fun game. Playing it single player and having a great time so far. Lots of explosions and guns with tons of monsters and amazing graphics on PC. Also, the humor is great and it's a really funny game. The game is really colorful and full of life.

The people that are writing bad reviews are the same people that support company's like EA every year and buy cod and FIFA every year that changes one thing and asks for £50?     What a weird and poor choice from the developers! They only gave the review edition for PC Players, because the PS4 Pro version runs extremely bad! On performance mode you get mostly 45FPS and Resolution it’s clearly above 30FPS! 5 years of waiting to get this disappointed. Sad choice from the developers. Hope this gets a patched!

    I'm not far into the game, only beat the 2nd boss and completed a bunch of side missions, game is really fun so far. Same tight gunplay and cool abilities the franchise is known for, but with even cooler guns. If you weren't a fan before, just skip this. Game runs perfectly fine on my ps4 slim, I'm assuming all the 0-2 scores and from the salty PC fanboys who keep crying about the Epic launcher.

    I don't understand all the hate for this game. It plays smooth, I'm about 10 - 12 hours in and I feel like I'm just getting started. The guns and gear feel great, the new skill tree system is a needed improvement on the past 2 games in the franchise. The story is fine. All in all it's more borderlands for people who enjoy borderlands.

I did not play 1 or 2 but this is a wonderful video game. It’s pure fun, and it knows what it is and what it isn’t. It’s not going to steal my life like destiny, but it may well steal a month or so and is going to leave me with some great memories. This is the only game out there that has the tight controls of a major title like COD, or battlefield etc, but also has the fun factor, pace, and mind numbing visuals of an arcade shooter. I guess you could say it plays like destiny meets doom and looks like destiny meets Fortnite, but really it’s just the same

    I do not believe that people have problems with optimization. The text in the settings can be done more. I have a PS4 Slim Gran Turismo Limited Edition fps drops very rarely and it is mainly in the inventory menu. I had already completed this game and I liked everything. No wonder I waited 7 years. I think the negative reviews are related to the release of the game in EGS

    Two more, less impactful bugs I encountered were a bit annoying. A lot must be happening in the menu's because it lags like **** It's so annoying to navigate because of the lag, but that's an XB1 issue, I'm not sure how it compares to other systems. But I seriously don't like customizing my weapons because the amount of time it is to re-customize every weapon is too long

    Another one that has always been present is that enemies will sometimes glitch under the floor, not allowing you to progress.

    Anyway how's the game.

    Humour:
    It's funny, and not just a string of jokes like BLTPS was. This game brings back those weird and great characters that are funny from their existence. Working off other characters to great consistent enjoyable and funny dialogue. And it's actually used really well. One moment is a hard-hitting cutscene...it's all intense...it's so moody then 30 seconds later you're laughing about that same situation because it's been re-contextualized, or it's that same scene has been made fun off. Or that scene is poking fun at the storey events, you won't always laugh, but you'll always smile with this game. Also the number of self-references hit just right and is great, laughing at yourself so you can laugh with the players.

    Fixes:
    If you've played the other Borderlands games you'll know of the annoying things like not being able to access skills in vehicles. But this game fixes it. Generally, there's so much more, a PROPER sequel to Borderlands. You can customize weapons with skins (In-game currency don't worry) If you play FL4K or Zane you'll have some interesting skill choices to make (You can have two skills on Zane, and you choose between a pet on FL4K) Better hub and environments, and the gun manufacturers. Holy **** they fixed the guns. Assualt rifles are worth using now. Each manufacturer is so much more unique, their designs are more clearly designed, and the abilities of your guns have more variety, Every loot drop is more exciting than ever.

    The gameplay is great, music and environment and outstanding, the writing is on par from what you expect from a great Borderlands game (BL2 & TftB) there's so much new great things, amazing things, i haven't had so much fun playing Borderlands since 2012 with my first BL2 playthrough, if you're a Borderlands fan, pick this up. If you're not a Borderlands fan, keep this on your "to get" list. It's great, the only things bad about this game is the bugs, my experience has been mostly clean, but others has been awful, having their data wiped and you should definitely do a little research on the bugs of this game to make sure you don't get ****ed over

    The negative reviews are from bugs, bugs oh so bugs, they shouldn't be ignored, a game with bugs is just as bad as a game with bad gameplay, but you should know the score is only so low because of reviews with the bugs, it might honestly be worth checking up on the updates and waiting until this game gets patched.    … Expand

    Already played 20 hours of time in the game, considering that only 3 days have passed since the release. I can say that it was not in vain that we waited 5 years for this part. She's awesome. Unless you can complain about it, it's for poor optimization both on the Slim version and on the Pro. ECHO is very lagging on the slime.

For example, sometimes the menus lag, but it's nothing gamebreaking and will probably fixed with a patch soon. This game is an absolute blast

    The character are awesome and the game looks great too. Tons of Loot attached to meaty ass gunplay. Story still feels a little choppy at times but giving a perfect score to counteract the review bombing.

    I have to write this review as a contrast to the complaints I am seeing in other users posts, but I will agree with them in one aspect: Split screen co-op in this game sucks way harder than it did in borderland 2, and that is disappointing. The text shows up far too small, and at the bottom of *both* players screens which is useless, because youre playing on one TV. The game doesn't seem to recognize that. It is far more laggy in split screen as well, so I do agree with a lot of the reviews in that the split screen co-op in this game is largely unplayable, which is a big disappointment as my roommate and I were looking forward to this, because we played that way in BL2. My thoughts on the game follow.

    Borderlands 3 is just borderlands 2 but more of it, and for this game, that is fine. The jokes are mostly the same as they were before: Porta Potty prisons that turn into poop rockets with people trapped inside, people acting very serious and killing each other over mundane things like coffee, annoying robots etc. The gameplay and story beats are mostly the same as well. Find new guns, kill a bunch of stuff, old playable vault hunter characters showing up just like in the last one.
    For me, none of that is an issue. All I wanted was more borderlnds and that is what I got. I am enjoying the game. The online co-op works well, the character classes are interesting and fun to play.

    As to all the other critiques about lag, I really wish I could confirm them for you, but I can't. I have no idea what kind of set ups these are are running on. The game doesn't lag for me on PS4 Pro. It runs very smooth. There is some lag, on occasion, in the skill menu. It does a whole shiny animation for you characters skill trees that has slowed down the menu for me on more than one occasion, but only right when you open the menu, and it is hardly an issue at all. Certainly not gamebreaking lag.

    Overall, Im giving this game a 9 out of 10 so far. It has minor issues and doesnt reinvent the wheel but from what I've played its more borderlands. It does what its supposed to and it does it well, and that is what I wanted.    … Expand

    This games criticism so far i believe has been unfair. If this was the first entry in the series we would be seeing 9 to 10's all across the board. Its getting bashed only because the game is exactly what we expected it would be. But the thing is, it does everything better then the previous 3 games.     No split screen in PC, buggy unplayable mess otherwise. Pick up on sale at best after a lot of patching, even if most ardent vetran.

    More guns, more planets, more skills, more… more. If you liked the previous ones, this gives you plenty of the same to enjoy. Borderlands 3 is the very definition of the bigger and better sequel. [Issue#168, p.76]

    Factor in the graphical glitches, rampant texture pop-in and generally asthmatic performance levels, even when running on a PS4 Pro with settings optimised to favour smooth running, and there really is no end of reasons not to love Borderlands 3 (and don’t even think about Googling developers Gearbox Games’ litany of employee relations history)...And yet... love it, I do. Guilty as charged.
