    If you're a fan of the series you will absolutely love this! It's everything you'd expect, with small little tweaks here and there to improve some of the downsides of the old games. As for framerate drops, just change the performance on visuals to prefer FPS, then it's smooth as butter!

    Don't trust all these low review scores on metacritic, and that's coming from someone who ran into the "multiplayer bug" where I can't advance my story in my campaign (10 hours lost) because the matchmaking mission (which was ahead of my story) reamined after I left matchmaking. This is a solid game, with notable flaws. This is a solid game, with notable flaws. It's more borderlands, its a lot of shooting, looting, and farming. Kill stuff, orange (legendary) items or bust, this game really in a nutshell. The story was underwhelming, and I found this game was not as funny as 2, and the supporting cast was weak and uninteresting, I also found myself killing so much stuff in the campaign, I always get confused after the explosions... like ok i just killed 50 bad guys, what was the objective again? I also ran into 7-8 bugs during my 30 hour playthrough of this game, all required a restart and one completely loss my playthrough, not cool. I know this is part of the game genre, but exploration does not really reward you, you're better off farming bosses and locations, just an fyi to newcomers of this series. Now all the negatives are out of the way here are the pros.
    Pros:
    -that legendary drop
    -easy, but fun, diverse bosses
    - weapon/items drop keeps game fresh
    -solid gunplay, excellent overall gameplay
    -tons of content, and that doesn't include the lengthy campaign

    It's more borderlands, but this game and genre needs to evolve. Right now this game is meant for people who like grinding for the legendary weapon or item. If the keywords rng, farming, looting, shooting,addicting, and killing is your thing..go ahead. If your keywords are story, multiplayer, innovation and graphics, pass on this game.    … Expand

    It would be easy to say the story does not match up to the heights of Borderlands 2, however Gearbox has perfected the gameplay mechanics of the game making this one of the best shooters on the market. I feel this game would have got a 9 out of 10 from me if the menu's did not lag consistently on the Playstation Pro. But they are overlooked issues    Great game, well rounded package.

    If you love borderlands, then you will love 3 even more. Don't listen to all the people that are negative because of performance issues, or having a hissy fit that its not on steam. (gearbox is a company, they may have passion for video games, but money is what creates better ones)

    The gun play is amazing. (sounds are amazing, alt fire modes, even more wacky loot) The music is    If you love borderlands, then you will love 3 even more.     A fun and intense game with a lot of fun elements. the game suffers from many small flaws and did not feel quite clear when it arrived. The gameplay system is fun but it is far too easy to farm legendary weapons which milk the unique feel of the game. However, it is a very fun game that is developing fast. After seventy hours of playing time and platinum, I can't say anything but it stillA fun and intense game with a lot of fun elements. the game suffers from many small flaws and did not feel quite clear when it arrived.     I personaly gave it a 10/10 to counter very negative reviews but in reality this game is a 8 out of 10 to me. The game is really enjoyable aside few bugs here and there, the story is okeish I guess and the Kalipso twin are a slightly above avarage type of villains (handsome Jack was way better imho).     The best borderlands game in the saga, we have all of what we expected, lot of explosion, loot, lore everything. Don't listen to people that vote 0, all the fps problem can be patched

    I haven't tried the co-op so can't comment on that, but don't let this low user score fool you. The solo campaign is absolutely superb, and not that I think it really matters if a game has a couple of glitches on release day, but I haven't even encountered any glitches. And man, the open world environment is just beautiful to behold. The very first area and the first weapons you pick up might be a little bit meh, but that's kind of par for the course with a game like this.....it starts out basic, but its not long before you start to open up some great areas and weapons.

    Each new environment you unlock is better than the last, and the weapons along with them. The gameplay is incredibly fun and satisfying, and also gets better and better as you figure out which weapons and perks you like. And ultimately what makes a game like this good.....crafting a character around your play style, fun side missions and compelling areas to explore.....this game has in spades. 10 out of 10 for me, no question. Easily as good, if not better, than Borderlands 2, and a big improvement on the last one. As far as I can tell, pretty much all these negative reviews relate to the co-op mode and associated glitches, so if you plan to solo this game, ignore them because they're not relevant. The only drawback of this game is that you look at the clock at 10am then when you look again what seems like 5 minutes later, its 10 O'clock at night. If anything this game is too good.    … Expand

    It's the best loot shooter right now, with some light technical issues. Bungie can cancel their shadowkeep, because nothing can top B3.
    And not a single microtransaction in 2019, that is an achievement by itself!

    Game is buggy is it game breaking? No
    Is it a sub 5 star game? Pfft no don't be a whiny scrub.
    The story is great the side missions are fun it's a return to its roots of a great loot and shoot.
    Everyone is entitled to an opinion but also stupidity is usually louder than logic. So get the game it's big it's expansive it's fun.

    Although I would recommend to wait for an update to fix the performance issues (that really tarnish the game and the great work the devs put in their game), I managed to get past these and I have enjoyed the game just fine. But I know that most won't tolerate some of the framerate drops I've witnessed (really bad sometimes). It's up to you, but great game anyway !! Congrats on the devs, the game is loads of fun.

    Tremendous game with smooth gameplay mechanics and a great story couldve used the last quarter of 2019 to polish up the game a little more and stuck with a 2020 release but who am i to judge these things other than that i thuroughly enjoyed

    Borderlands 3 is an absolutely great addition to the series. Everything that made the series fantastic in previous installments has either been brought back or improved upon. There may be a few small issues, like the frame rate during split-screen, but those small issues can easily be fixed in patches. A fantastic game that will get even greater as cross play and expansions are released.

    Игра отличная, все говорят что в ней есть баги или лагает на ps4pro, у меня к примеру нету ни одного бага и не разу не багануло, говорят что когда достаёшь прицел теряется фпс, тоже самое праверил я и ничего не потерял, так что советую всем эту игру купить в ней переработанная графика, новоя стрельба из оружия и многое другое.     All of those 0 reviews are a load of crap. This game is perfectly playable. I’ve been playing on a PS4 pro and seem to be doing just fine. There were 2 times in the 20+ hours where the menu lagged (maybe 1/2 a second). The frame rate does drop sometimes but not to an unplayable level and it doesn’t seem to happen often.     I really like the looter shotter genre. I recently played over 300 hours of The Division 2. I didn't feel the framerates drop even while playing on normal PS4 (not PRO). I recommend this game to all lovers of the genre. Fantastic! :)

I understand the complaints about the performance but for me the game is fun enough to ignore them until they get fixed. Which they will.     I bought the super deluxe edition online for the original ps4, and here’s what I found. The game has minor issues that can become big problems, guns and items falling through the floor, restarts needed when NPCs don’t do what they’re meant to, screen pop ups getting stuck on the screen, minor AI glitches. Why the score though? The game stays true to the original games we fell in love with,I bought the super deluxe edition online for the original ps4, and here’s what I found. I play on PC and have had nothing but amazing frames, quality and it is exactly what I expected.nany people state that it doesn't feel like a borderlands game because they want another borderlands 1 or 2. I am happy with the approach they took with borderlands 3. It feels fresh and new. The ending of the story feels somewhat weak and incomplete, but overall very fun.… Expand

    The games is currently unplayable in local co-op. This was the sole reason I purchased the super deluxe version of this game. I was incredibly excited for BL3 as I had poured hours and a hours into previous titles buying more than one copy of the handsome collection, 1 for xbox one and 1 for ps4. There is no vertical splitscreen available currently. The horizontal split is unbearable andThe games is currently unplayable in local co-op.     As a HC Borderlands fan this is 7 years of waiting fulfilled. Gameplay and humor is still there. So far no bugs or major fps drops on PS4Pro. I’ve proceeded too fast and now it’s too hard cause I’m fighting enemies 3-4lvl above me and getting gear that is over my lvl, but that is my own fault.
    I'm lovin' it!

    I'm playing on a PS4 Pro and it is exactly what I wanted. More and refined Borderlands, it's Excellent! Frame drops in huge battles doesn't bother me as much and hopefully we get a patch for that.

    If you are into BL2 this game does not disappoint. Everything you expect and more. The only negative is that there are some enemies one shot you and are extremely hard to best even tough you are several levels more than the quest level. But it does not matter in the big picture!, awesome game!

    I’ve have never been so amazed by a borderlands game. Everything feels so good the combat the guns the characters the story. Aside from bugs and frame rate problems this game is ever better then it’s previous titles.

    BL3 is **** epic and it's ZERO BUGS . ZERO GLITCHES and 10 hours in. Works flawlessly, **** of new features and content, new storyline, etc. BL3 is awesome.     Awesome game. Havent had any of the tech issues that others have been experiencing and so far I am having a blast playing it.
    The skill points and how to use em are a little convoluted but just picking up the sticks and shooting is a breeze.

    I dont knoe why people giving this game 0-2. It really is a awesome game. Yes it is just like BL2, but just more. I play on the standaard PS4 and got no lag at all. Playing with a friend and already lvl 29. The game is a blast cant stop playing.

The graphics are what you’ve come to expect from a Borderlands title with a bit of enhancement from previous games.     Borderlands at its finest. The story, the combat, the bosses ( oh how i love the boss fights) I literally cannot stop playing. The game is being review bombed for couch co-op issues do not listen to them it's an issue that isn't my issue, but I'm sure if this problem exists gearbox will resolve it quickly.

    I tried the game last night, I enomely played 2 and I find that this opus just brings the new features that are missing from 2. The graphics are very nice and more detailed than in the 2 which was already beautiful, and the gameplay is more dynamic.

    i didnt like BORDERLANDS3 on EpicStore so bought it on PS4 , the game is great and as a old fan i must say i wanted more borderlands and borderlands 3 is what i wanted , i dont get why people gave low scores , some of them said this is borderlands 2 !!     The game uses a updated version of the Unreal engine and the game looks gorgeous. The graphical fidelity is at its best with good attention to detail.
    The game looks modern but still has that classic borderlands flavour that we all love.
    The sound design is great. Explosions have a nice deep bass and the character voices sound crisp and Cristal clear, I definitely would recommend to play the game with good headphones.
    Most of the characters from the old games are back with the exceptions of a few new ones and the new villains. If you have not played the first 3 games don’t worry , you won’t have any problem enjoying the story. Talking about the story line , it is not as good as Borderlands 2 but it’s better than Borderlands 1 . The Humor is still the same , claptrap is still an arrogant robot , and no one in this Universe takes anything seriously, which is a good thing. Player moovement is greatly improved, it feels faster , more responsive and fluid compared to older titles. The Gunplay has seen some improvement as well .
    The In game menu UI is a little confusing but it’s not hard to get used to .
    The new guns are great , every single one feels different and suites / encourages a different playstyle. The enemy’s are good, not the best AI but still challenging the more you progress. The bosses have some interesting mechanics and are engaging.
    Performance wise, well it’s a 2019 AAA game . I would not say it’s very demanding but on the PC side a GTX 750ti won’t handle it with more than 35 frames per second . On the console side a PS4 Pro or a XBOXONE X is recommended .
    My laptop has a i7 8750h 6 Core processor paired with 16 GB of 2666 MHz DDR4 Ram running in dual channel ( 2x8 ) and a GTX 1060 6GB.
    The game runs on 1080p averaging 80 FPS on medium settings. On High with fog set to off solid 60 Frames per second. My advice would be to leave the game in DX11, as DX12 is still messy for the time being. The game is a blast to play and can be played solo without a problem even tho at its core it’s meant to be played in co-op. Still the best looter shooter on the market.
    The Epic games store lacks a lot of essential features but it launches the game without a problem so at least that’s good. If you are a fan of the franchise you will love the Game as it feels like Borderlands 2 , but more modern with a lot of quality of life improvements.
    I would say get it and play it . Trailers and let‘s plays don’t do this game justice. I apologise for any type mistakes, English is not my first language :)    … Expand

    For everyone posting negative reviews. Did you not read or watch a single preview for the game? Which is odd if you preordered or bought the game on day one. It’s exactly what everyone said it was more BL with a few tweaks which is absolutely fine by me. It’s fun and seems to work fine on my regular PS 4.

    Gameplay wise, the last instalment in the borderlands series is over the top blast. They polished and upgraded everything, shooting and looting is better than ever. Only bad thing about this game is optimalization for couch coop,but hopefuly this will get better in future updates. Must buy for all longtime borderlands fans out there.

    This game is amazing, I've played over 20+ hours already and love it.
    I am playing on the PS4 Slim and have not experienced any frame drops, glitches or any controller delay.
    My console is fairly new as I bought it for Spider-man so I have a feeling all of the issues that are being reported are down to the console being old, damaged or because the console is overheating.

I don’t give a... I don’t care about cheat codes and broken builds people complain about - I don’t use them and don’t understand why people do, ruining game for themselves and complaining afterwards. I suddenly got a second unique sniper rifle as a quest reward - I don’t even care how it happened, I just sold it and went on. Game did crash once for me on PS4 - oh well, big deal, as if someone ever saw perfect software. There is no such thing.
    I love this game. I suck at it, I get killed on normal all the time, I am not going to farm legendaries, I am 30 hours in and being real bad at it don’t think I am anywhere near the end - but I laugh out loud constantly, and I can see myself replaying it for the story itself in the years to come. The game looks good and is still as fun to play as its predecessors. The writing is good with excellent voice acting to back it up and dialogue tends to be funny and makes a lot of sidequests fun to play, even if it is a fetch quest. Alternate fire modes and other gimmicks have been added to most guns as well, which is always fun.

    Unfortunately, as good as the game is...it kind of falls apart at times in the main story. Your character and their actions...kind of feel useless. I don't think I've seen the character I've played appear in ANY cutscenes. Speaking of cutscenes, it feels like everything I've done in the game doesn't matter because the baddies achieve their goals during the cutscenes anyway.

    Honestly, in the end, it feels like this game wasn't meant for ANY of the Vault Hunters. Instead, it was meant for a side character named Ava. Maya's apprentice and her Scrappy Doo-like replacement when she is killed by Troy because Ava didn't listen to her. (Of course, she takes her grief and anger out on Lilith and never apoogizes or admits she's wrong later, which just made me hate her more.)

    In the end, she gets Maya's Siren powers from Troy and gets to lead the Crimson Raiders FOR SOME REASON when Lilith goes to save Pandora. I only "kind of" felt like a hero and a bad-ass at the end because of what BALEX says at the end.

    I liked most of the other side characters and feel like they needed more of a spotlight, especially Typhon DeLeon. First Vault Hunter AND father of the Calypso Twins? If you didn't bother to collect his Echo Logs at every location, this dude would've just seemed like some rando. Feels like they should've focused on him a lot more.

    Same for Troy. A male Siren who can leech the powers from others and is slowly steps out of his sister's shadow over the game? Seems like he wouldve made for a more interesting villain than his sister who just "wants to be a God."

    Honestly, it seems like I only have negative things to say about this story but i did really love it. Combat is fun, running, jumping or driving around feels good and I really loved most of the stories, sidequests and side-characters. Still, certain plot points, the ending and Ava left a sour taste in my mouth. I will probably go through this game again with a different Vault Hunter and try the DLC, however. Because that's how much I enjoyed the game.    … Expand

    If you love everything about Borderlands 1, 2, Pre-Sequel and Tales, you WILL, without a doubt, love Borderlands 3. To me, it is THE best Borderlands    I bought the Super Deluxe Edition on PS4 on Day One and have been playing since. I'm level 23 right now and having a blast playing the campaign SOLO. I did not try local splitscreen co-op nor online co-op. Here's my take so far.

    If you love everything about Borderlands 1, 2, Pre-Sequel and Tales, you WILL, without a doubt, love Borderlands 3. To me, it is THE best Borderlands experience. It improves so much from the previous games.

    1. Fast travel
    Previous games had me backtracking so much! It became so frustrating to undertake a quest, complete it and finding myself having to trek back across the map to another location. I would just quit the game and restart to get back to a fast travel point. In BL3, you can fast travel anytime, anywhere. Just open the map, and BOOM! Fast travel anywhere. This is a game changer for me.

    2. Exploration
    This time, it's more rewarding to explore the full map, uncovering every inch of it. BL1 & 2 felt empty, where the rewards for exploring were just Echo Logs and Vault Symbols etc. This time, you're rewarded not just with Echo Logs, but Collectibles/Crew Challenges that give you useful loot! Plus the game is so gorgeous and the diverse landscapes made exploration enjoyable.

    3. Characters
    Admittedly, so far, the antagonist twins aren't as compelling as Handsome Jack but they're passable. However, I am more attached to characters from previous games like Lilith & Co. So for me, I am enjoying the main campaign just because I'm finding out more about what happened to them since the last games, what's going on right now and what will happen to them. You are also rewarded with a lot of dialog when you keep prompting each NPC. The previous games usually had 1-2 lines of dialog per prompt, but BL3 definitely put in the effort in fleshing out NPCs more.

    4. Loot
    OMG, the loot!!! It is the bread and butter of this game! Gunplay and gameplay is so so so satisfying. I'm playing as Moze, having played Sirens in the previous games, and oh man am I enjoying myself. I cannot wait to max out Moze and then try out Fl4k, Zane and Amara in other playthroughs. I usually don't care for the other character besides my main, but BL3 made me intrigued. You also get rewarded for using guns from each manufacturer. So if your favorite type of gun is from Maliwan or Jakobs, these companies will send you special loot for being a loyal customer! It's just so rewarding, and the pace that I get new loot before I got bored with what I currently have is perfect.

    5. Music
    The music is excellent. Very chill and relaxing. The Sanctuary3 music somehow reminded me of The Matrix.

    6. Customization
    There's a huge variety of cosmetics and customization you make on your charater, guns and vehicles. I especially love the gun skins and trinkets which is something new, cos you see your weapon 100% of the time so being able to customize them is cool! Also, I do not see any intrusive microtransactions in game whatsoever, unlike games like AC Odyssey, Origins, Battlefield, Destiny, COD, etc. It feels like an old school looter shooter to the core!

    7. Bosses
    Man some of the bosses so far are pretty cool! And kinda tough for a normal difficulty. I cannot wait for True Vault Hunter Mode.

    8. Stability
    On single player campaign playing on SOLO on my original PS4, the game has been super smooth with no crashes and bugs since Day 1. 30fps gameplay is good enough for this generation. I wasn't expecting 60fps so I was fine with the gameplay.

    So yeah, having played about 30+ hours so far and not nearing the end yet, it has been an awesome experience. If you love the Borderlands series and play solo, this is a MUST BUY!

    EDIT (Oct 26): I just beat the campaign at Level 44 with most side quests completed and some collectibles left. What a game! So much content, so much fun! I'm finishing up the remaining side quests, Circles of Slaughters, Proving Grounds and finding all collectibles. I'm also playing at a new difficulty level called Mayhem mode. Mayhem1 is tough and makes the game so much more challenging and forces me to change my approach. I tried the highest tier, Mayhem3, just for fun, and it is NOT fun. Bordering on impossible. I find myself now finding better gear to challenge myself at Mayhem3. If you're familiar with Torment levels in Diablo3, Mayhem mode is similar. Mayhem mode also has modifiers that affect your current game session, things like more SMG, shotgun damage, less crit, pistol damage etc.

    I haven't even started a 2nd playthrough on True Vault Hunter Mode. I'm guessing TVHM at Mayhem3 will be the Bloodborne of shooter looters!

    Feeling very excited to improve my Moze into the ultimate badass. This almost feels like Goku training at 100x gravity.

    Awesome game, one of my favorite gaming experiences of the year, along with Control.

    Oh, not to mention the current free Halloween content, Bloody Harvest! I'm having a ball of a time, even after 100+ hrs of gameplay.    … Expand

At first I really didn't like this installment in the Borderlands franchise but the solid core gameplay grew on me until now I'm firmly hooked. The bedrock loop of the game, 'shooting an insane arsenal of fun guns and collecting loot' is undeniably dialed in. The guns are cool, they have great little animated features, and there is something for everyone. Also, unlike many loot shooters, when you find a gun you really like you can actually use it for a good chunk of hours instead of it immediately being obsolete.
    The graphics seem dated to me, and some of the design choices are just bad, like the way they use an actual actress for the sirens' voices in your head.
    The enemy variety is really impressive, especially in side quests, where you might encounter a unique boss monster at the end of a seemingly mundane quest chain. Just when I thought I had seen everything the game had for me to shoot at, they would introduce something new.
    I loved the postgame difficulty sliders, which let you adjust the perfect sweet spot for mopping up side quests and other activities. This is a genius idea and I wish more games implemented it. The new mayhem modes are fun and I do get way better loot out of them.
    The Circle of Slaughter mode is one of my favorites and can be extremely challenging. Some of them can take upwards of two hours, and it's CONSTANT fighting action. Also some have very cool unique bosses not seen in the regular story mode, so it's worth it to play through them all!
    The biggest downside of the game for me is the comedy. It's bad. So bad. And I say that not only as a fan of comedy, but as a professional comedy writer. So many of the jokes are dated it makes me cringe. I remember Claptrap fondly from BL1 and 2 but he was immediately grating in this game. His schtick has worn very thin. Also there are multiple characters doing a terrible Deadpool impression, the chief offender being Vaughn, who might be my most-hated character in any game. If there was paid DLC that was simply, 'Murder Vaughn', I would buy it. If there were expensive microtransactions that let me delete him from the game, I would happily pay for them. He sucks. That said, the comedy beats eventually turn into white noise as you keep playing, and there are a few clever jokes in there. I especially like the enemies' dying words.
    Other gripes are the loading screen before the titles are even finished, the unskippable cutscenes (in 2019?) and the insane lag issues with pulling up your Echo screen. Changing your loadout in the midst of battle is basically a guaranteed death, and that sucks.
    Still, if you want a loot shooter with an insane variety of enemies and a ton of postgame content, this is a great game.    … Expand

    It's more Borderlands with some quality of life enhancements. Graphics are pretty sharp, story is nothing outstanding but still reminiscent of the Borderlands universe, loot shooter gameplay loop is still fun, and co-op play is where you get most of the enjoyment. No reason not to like this game if you liked the first two & the Pre-Sequel.

    There are games out there that are not fun... you either have to pay to win, or you can't complete the game unless you have certain gear or weapons, basically glitches in the game. Those are the games where you say "Why can't they just make this game fun?" Borderlands 3 (all of them really) is just fun.

    Fun gameplay and a great game overall. Pros: gunplay is good, guns sound great, music is awesome and the addition of mayhem Mode was a cool idea. Vault hunters play very differently overall, collecting all the little things such as claptrap parts or typhon logs etc are actually fun rather than annoying, weapon dmg is balanced very well. Cons: main story is good but not as good as borderlands 2, Menu is laggy, The characters aren't really balanced well (FL4K is op af and Zane is litteral trash for example) and mayhem Mode does nerf your own dmg output instead of tweaking enemy mechanics which isn't really the best way to make it harder.    … Expand

    Awesome sequel to borderlands series but is completely riddled with bugs just like every new game to come out. Crashes ALOT, lost progress, guns that disappear from your inventory. If you want story and fun you got it, if you want to 100% keep everything you've worked for this ain't it

    Just FYI, everyone complaining about this game is playing split screen on a standard machine. Apparently making an old machine render two next-gen games simultaneously doesn't produce great results. Lol... People are silly. The game is amazing. Don't listen to the trolls. Play online like a real gamer or buy a second machine. #couchcoopislame

    + Динамика боев, за счет паркура и подкатов, выше стала и подкаты интересней чем в Destiny.
    + Игра в CO-OP! Мой друг 5, я 50 и при этом что я, что он получаем удовольствие от игры, получая вызов и FUN от совместной игры, а не так что он скучает пока я все уничтожаю у него и где он постоянно падает, играя у меня.

    Минусы субъективны и от меня все же:
    - За счет огромных карт, проседает порой динамика стрельбы, ибо на противников надо еще наткнуться.
    - Моуз как перснаж, проседает в сравнению с другими, потому что анимация та же раз за разом (садится в меху), меняется только оружие, в отличие от других, где ты видишь разную анимацию.    … Expand

Да, технические проблемы имеют место быть, но все не так страшно, и легко исправляется патчами(думаю через месяц технических проблем не останется). С оптимизацией тоже все нормально, требования как у многих игр 2019 года, не ниже, ни выше. ЯЖдал игру довольно долго и ожидания были большие.     So much fun. I mean the game has over a billion guns, and they all feel unique and useful for different scenarios. The loot system is a great design. The campaign is also alot of fun with friends.

    UPDATE: Just wanted to break into my old review to talk about the multi-player and end game. Borderlands 3 is just not as popular as Borderlands 2, and matchmaking for co-op activities suffers for it. Both my friends list and matchmaking are a ghost town. End game also lacks a reason for existing. You can play harder modes for better loot but that only leads to harder modes for better loot. And most of the harder modes are just enemies spamming rocket launchers or going immune (Anointed). Worse, whenever the level increases, all that loot will be moot. The game needs better end-game activities sooner rather than later. I fear that by the time Gearbox introduces something great like a raid, there will be no one left to play it. END UPDATE

    The shooting itself feels better than classic borderlands. Some guns have more aim assist than others, but you never feel like that game is playing against you like some RPGs in the past. Shooting doesn’t feel quite as “crispy” as Destiny, but the guns in Borderlands are much more varied and fun than the guns in Destiny. The enemies are also much more varied, and different guns and strategies are a must. Much of time, its fun just to go through areas and shoot stuff.

    If loot-box free gameplay is a leftover from last gen, the graphics in Borderlands 3 are a relic. The art style is not the problem. Back in Borderlands 1, the art style was fresh. It is still fresh. Don’t believe me? Look up Borderlands cosplay. The art style also complements the visual and audio jokes in the game. But the lighting, textures, and frame rates are all subpar. I’ve played remasters that look better than this. Maybe this is the result of the long development cycle (7 years) or reliance on an outdated game engine. The game simply doesn’t look near as polished as most games that release at the end of a console cycle.

    Finally, the multi-player is a mixed bag. Like in earlier Borderlands games, you can “party up” with 3 other players and roll through content together. No need for special strikes or raids. You simply join up and increase the difficulty at your desire. Loot can also be shared equally so everybody wins. It’s fun to join up with friends and take down bosses for legendary loot. Joining up with random players is not so fun. 9 of 10 matchmaking sessions end with getting kicked by the host player. I think most players don’t realize that other players can join them. I don’t mind if someone jumps in my game and helps me fight bosses. But I guess I’m not most people. Peer-to-peer is an issue. Bungie abrogated peer-to-peer in Destiny by making Bungie the host for its matchmake game types. Hear, there is the ever present danger of a host kicking you before the loot explosion. This yet another example of the last gen game design in a world dominated by dedicated services.

    All-in-all, Borderlands 3 is a fun game to play and I recommend it. The game is especially nice for anyone tired of the business model of modern day games. I don’t just mean the battle royals scene. Games-as-a-service games are exhausting. It’s nice to enjoy playing a game for the sake of playing it.    … Expand

    i love borderland games, although i did not like the bosses in this game and the way it ended but was still super fun to play. needs a lot of DLC to make it a fantastic game.... like tiny tinas adventure... that was awesome. i didn't like the arena things though where you just in one spot and those flying turds are hard to kill - they are way to fast, hard to hit, and they can kill you ini love borderland games, although i did not like the bosses in this game and the way it ended but was still super fun to play. needs a lot of DLC to make it a fantastic game.... like tiny tinas adventure... that was awesome. i didn't like the arena things though where you just in one spot and those flying turds are hard to kill - they are way to fast, hard to hit, and they can kill you in one hit. took a group of 4 just to kill one that took 20 min. but overall i still liked the game… Expand

    Borderlands 3 improved in every ways (except for the villans) from Borderlands 2.

    However, Borderlands 2 deserved GOTY back then, but Borderlands 3 is being received badly because of the times have changed.

    Gamers not only want more, but they want different.

    Borderlands 3 failed to deliver (different) part.

    But if you have enjoyed Borderlands 2 like me, you will love this game.

I'm 99% sure most of these bad reviews are from people upset with the "Epic" mess on PC. I think this is not cool at all bc a lot of people (like me) go to metacritic to see what people have to say about a game beforeI absolutely don't understand the bad reviews.     Don't listen to all the hate. Amazing game, beautiful visuals, great mechanics and characters that can be played in so many ways. If you like looter shooters this is a must have in your game library. I've played through all 3 and they just keep getting better.

    If you liked borderlands 2 you will love this game. They basically improved on everything. Graphics are noticeabley better, I recomend playing on performance. Movement, climbing, sliding is awesome. Looting is quicker, you don't have to spam the loot button. Guns feel great. And it still has that great borderlands charm.

    Factor in the graphical glitches, rampant texture pop-in and generally asthmatic performance levels, even when running on a PS4 Pro with settings optimised to favour smooth running, and there really is no end of reasons not to love Borderlands 3 (and don’t even think about Googling developers Gearbox Games’ litany of employee relations history)...And yet... love it, I do. Guilty as charged.
