    This game is a great continuation of the series. The developers managed to leave the old Borderlands and at the same time create something new. This is what I understand. Great sequel. I don’t understand why people are indignant, but I really hope that such a hard start will pay off in full. The stars must shine

    I am playing on a PRO (really glad I got one at this point because so many games need it) and I want to start of by saying I really love this game but I am upset with Gearbox for screwing up the couch co op. Now, I don't even PLAY couch co op but a lot of people do and it's universally called out for being practically unplayable. The fact that someone at gearbox didn't point out that most TVs are rectangularly shaped and maybe a horizontal split screen is a dumb idea is kind of mind blowing. How they didn't play test it is beyond me and they really botched the launch of this game for a lot of people. That sucks and I feel bad for all the people who were let down. They aren't salty, they are rightfully mad for the bad co op and frame rate drops.

    Now, for me, I love the game. It's amazing. There ARE minor frame rate drops when I open the menu and and a drop or two in battle after 6 hours of gameplay but nothing that can't be fixed. Where it matters the game is fantastic. They improved and polished the shooting and looting mechanics to a ridiculous level, which is impressive giving that this area was already so amazing in BL2.

    The gun play, sliding and mantling all feel stellar as well and the graphics are just fantastic. I play on performance mode because there is little difference to the eye from HD to 4k. I really am loving this game beyond what I had hoped.

    Having said that Gearbox needs to fix the issues STAT because they may have already ruined this launch for many people especially after the PR nightmare they had all the way up to the lead up release    … Expand

    Very fun game. Playing it single player and having a great time so far. Lots of explosions and guns with tons of monsters and amazing graphics on PC. Also, the humor is great and it's a really funny game. The game is really colorful and full of life.

    finally borderlands after presequel has finally gotten what it deserve . This game feel more advance and modern and yet so similar with the others . Graphics are clearly improved , gun play itnow feels like other good shooters like Titanfall or doom , not so clunky that the old games was . Also it features enchanted menus , maps and inventories and of course a more advanced skill tree andfinally borderlands after presequel has finally gotten what it deserve .     Please do not listen to all the negative reviews and get yourselves a copy of this game! It's brilliant, I could say 100 things that have changed from bl2. The people that are writing bad reviews are the same people that support company's like EA every year and buy cod and FIFA every year that changes one thing and asks for £50? The game is bloody brilliant and hilarious.

I play the game on my PS4 Pro and it runs beautifully. 60 fps on performance mode (with maybe a dip to 50-55 fps in areas with a TON, and I emphasize on TON, of effects). Loving the game so far.     Anyone who gave this less than a 7 did not play it or is grading it on a PC curve. This game is a graphical improvement over 2 and has multiple quality of life improvements from 2. I have been playing for almost 8 hours and I have not had any issues on my PS4. The PC fanboys are just review bombing this game because they don't like how it currently plays on PC.     Super fun to play and great changes ... there are some bugs here and there and some frame drops when I open the menu but I think this will be fixed in a few days..

    MUST PLAY!

Gun play feels great, the guns each look unique and finding new loot is always a blast. The humor is borderlands level humor, so prepare for dank memes, dick jokes, and sexual innuendos. I find it funny, but some people(No I haven't been paid by gearbox or 2K, just my opinion) So, my friends and I have ben playing looter shooters for years, and I can safely say this is our sanctuary now.     There is one problem I have faced, driving controls. Holy moly, they've not gotten any better and are much worse here. Other than that, not really had any problems. Occasional pop in, but you know I'm willing to sacrifice that, mainly cause i'm on a default PS4.

Never have I seen so many idiots **** for us being given EXACTLY what the majority of the true fans asked for! Same loving formula with brand new characters,locations and quality of life improvements. Ignore the haters. Its great!

    I'm not far into the game, only beat the 2nd boss and completed a bunch of side missions, game is really fun so far. Same tight gunplay and cool abilities the franchise is known for, but with even cooler guns. If you weren't a fan before, just skip this. Game runs perfectly fine on my ps4 slim, I'm assuming all the 0-2 scores and from the salty PC fanboys who keep crying about the Epic launcher.

    I don't understand all the hate for this game. It plays smooth, I'm about 10 - 12 hours in and I feel like I'm just getting started. The guns and gear feel great, the new skill tree system is a needed improvement on the past 2 games in the franchise. The story is fine. All in all it's more borderlands for people who enjoy borderlands.

    I play every major FPS title on PS4 and this is among the best feeling shooters of all time. I did notice the aforementioned frame rate issues immediately and changed my game settings to performance rather than resolution and it plays wayyyy smoother (seemingly locked 25-30 fps) and looks virtually the same. If this option wasn’t available I probably would have trashed this game and BL3 isI play every major FPS title on PS4 and this is among the best feeling shooters of all time. If this option wasn’t available I probably would have trashed this game and BL3 is nothing revolutionary but I have to give it a 9 to offset you plebs that are playing on split screen and think you can ruin someone’s hard work because you are a bum girlfriend/boyfriend who can’t buy a used 50 dollar PS4 and a 100 dollar 40 inch 4k tv. I did not play 1 or 2 but this is a wonderful video game. It’s pure fun, and it knows what it is and what it isn’t. It’s not going to steal my life like destiny, but it may well steal a month or so and is going to leave me with some great memories. This is the only game out there that has the tight controls of a major title like COD, or battlefield etc, but also has the fun factor, pace, and mind numbing visuals of an arcade shooter. I guess you could say it plays like destiny meets doom and looks like destiny meets Fortnite, but really it’s just the same

If you just want to play more borderlands, then thats what you have. If you are someone whos played enormous amounts of hours of borderlands, maybe you will have something way too familiar on your hands here. Overall im really having fun with the game and am surprised of all the problems everyone is having with the game and the reviews that are being given. Looking forward to see how the endgame plays out after i finish the campaign but im sure it will be fine and the DLCs will deliver as well!… Expand

    I do not believe that people have problems with optimization. The text in the settings can be done more. I have a PS4 Slim Gran Turismo Limited Edition fps drops very rarely and it is mainly in the inventory menu. I had already completed this game and I liked everything. No wonder I waited 7 years. I think the negative reviews are related to the release of the game in EGS

    Two more, less impactful bugs I encountered were a bit annoying. A lot must be happening in the menu's because it lags like **** It's so annoying to navigate because of the lag, but that's an XB1 issue, I'm not sure how it compares to other systems. But I seriously don't like customizing my weapons because the amount of time it is to re-customize every weapon is too long

    Another one that has always been present is that enemies will sometimes glitch under the floor, not allowing you to progress.

    Anyway how's the game.

    Humour:
    It's funny, and not just a string of jokes like BLTPS was. This game brings back those weird and great characters that are funny from their existence. Working off other characters to great consistent enjoyable and funny dialogue. And it's actually used really well. One moment is a hard-hitting cutscene...it's all intense...it's so moody then 30 seconds later you're laughing about that same situation because it's been re-contextualized, or it's that same scene has been made fun off. Or that scene is poking fun at the storey events, you won't always laugh, but you'll always smile with this game. Also the number of self-references hit just right and is great, laughing at yourself so you can laugh with the players.

    Fixes:
    If you've played the other Borderlands games you'll know of the annoying things like not being able to access skills in vehicles. But this game fixes it. Generally, there's so much more, a PROPER sequel to Borderlands. You can customize weapons with skins (In-game currency don't worry) If you play FL4K or Zane you'll have some interesting skill choices to make (You can have two skills on Zane, and you choose between a pet on FL4K) Better hub and environments, and the gun manufacturers. Holy **** they fixed the guns. Assualt rifles are worth using now. Each manufacturer is so much more unique, their designs are more clearly designed, and the abilities of your guns have more variety, Every loot drop is more exciting than ever.

    The gameplay is great, music and environment and outstanding, the writing is on par from what you expect from a great Borderlands game (BL2 & TftB) there's so much new great things, amazing things, i haven't had so much fun playing Borderlands since 2012 with my first BL2 playthrough, if you're a Borderlands fan, pick this up. If you're not a Borderlands fan, keep this on your "to get" list. It's great, the only things bad about this game is the bugs, my experience has been mostly clean, but others has been awful, having their data wiped and you should definitely do a little research on the bugs of this game to make sure you don't get ****ed over

    The negative reviews are from bugs, bugs oh so bugs, they shouldn't be ignored, a game with bugs is just as bad as a game with bad gameplay, but you should know the score is only so low because of reviews with the bugs, it might honestly be worth checking up on the updates and waiting until this game gets patched.    … Expand

    So I have played Boarderlands 1 2 and the pre-sequel. This game has added alot of small changes as well as new macanics and story that works well. there may be a few glitches and drops in framerate but it is a large game with obly being out 2 days it is not a problem. the only glitches are visual glitches and the franerate drop both should get fixed by updates soon but the game is stillSo I have played Boarderlands 1 2 and the pre-sequel.     I think is the best game to play together. Maybe playing only single it's not interesting, and a bit boring, but it's really cool game to play with friends, and of course the best game in Borderlands series.

    Already played 20 hours of time in the game, considering that only 3 days have passed since the release. I can say that it was not in vain that we waited 5 years for this part. She's awesome. Unless you can complain about it, it's for poor optimization both on the Slim version and on the Pro. ECHO is very lagging on the slime.

    Don't listen to the review bombers. This game is fantastic. If you're a veteran or new to the series, you should absolutely pick it up. Sure, it's got a couple of hiccups. For example, sometimes the menus lag, but it's nothing gamebreaking and will probably fixed with a patch soon. This game is an absolute blast

    The character are awesome and the game looks great too. Tons of Loot attached to meaty ass gunplay. Story still feels a little choppy at times but giving a perfect score to counteract the review bombing.

My thoughts on the game follow.

    Borderlands 3 is just borderlands 2 but more of it, and for this game, that is fine. The jokes are mostly the same as they were before: Porta Potty prisons that turn into poop rockets with people trapped inside, people acting very serious and killing each other over mundane things like coffee, annoying robots etc. The gameplay and story beats are mostly the same as well. Find new guns, kill a bunch of stuff, old playable vault hunter characters showing up just like in the last one.
    For me, none of that is an issue. All I wanted was more borderlnds and that is what I got. I am enjoying the game. The online co-op works well, the character classes are interesting and fun to play.

    As to all the other critiques about lag, I really wish I could confirm them for you, but I can't. I have no idea what kind of set ups these are are running on. The game doesn't lag for me on PS4 Pro. It runs very smooth. There is some lag, on occasion, in the skill menu. It does a whole shiny animation for you characters skill trees that has slowed down the menu for me on more than one occasion, but only right when you open the menu, and it is hardly an issue at all. Certainly not gamebreaking lag.

    Overall, Im giving this game a 9 out of 10 so far. It has minor issues and doesnt reinvent the wheel but from what I've played its more borderlands. It does what its supposed to and it does it well, and that is what I wanted.    … Expand

    This games criticism so far i believe has been unfair. If this was the first entry in the series we would be seeing 9 to 10's all across the board. Its getting bashed only because the game is exactly what we expected it would be. But the thing is, it does everything better then the previous 3 games.     I just wanted to say this is extremely fun I’m 9 hours in and I’m loving it not sure what all these zero reviews are for I’m so confused no way this is any less then a 7 It’s probably about a 9 but I’m giving it a 10 to offset some of those ridiculous reviews yes is more of the same but that’s not a bad thing at all but this game you won’t regret it !

    The corporate-loyalist mob, driven to anger by vapid social media figures, is precisely what the game sets out to satirize. I'm playing on a PS4 Pro in performance mode, and it runs beautifully. The across-the-board mechanical improvements over BL2 are astounding, and the game is an absolute blast to play.

    Loving it so far. Borderlands 2 was the first game my wife and I really played together (I made her start and now it's one of her favorite series) it's more borderlands with better movement exactly what I was hoping for.

The game isn't perfect, I did have a glitch moment that launched me into the sky and out of the map, resulting in a swift death. There's also a small bit of lag in the menus, presumably from loading the character model, but I expect these will be patched out relatively soon. Other than that, I have had no problems and absolutely no regrets about getting this game. It only gets a 10 instead of a 9 to help bump it up from the bombers and boycotters.… Expand

    The villains don't hold a candle to Jack. He was probably one of if not the best villain of any game I've played. They are formidable but much of their dialogue is just annoying. Writing is a bit lacking compared to BL2 but it's definitely had its moments and isn't bad by any means.

    To those crying over microtransactions. M. BORDERLANDS HAS ALWAYS HAD THAT YA DUMMIES! It's nothing "pay to win" and It's purely cosmetic so I don't understand the issue. TLDR: if you enjoyed BL1 or BL2 you will absolutely love this and must buy. If you were unsure of those games or didn't enjoy them it won't convert you.    … Expand

    Review bombing is a joke. The game has its flaws but you can tell Gearbox put a lot of work into this game and it isn't the slightest bit of a letdown to me. Yes Randy Pitchford is a douche. Don't let that, or the fact that it is an epic game exclusive, ruin it for you.

    There are a few Bugs, but nothing they can't Fix. A Worthy successor of Borderlands 2.

    Из минусов могу отметить только небольшие геймплейные подтормаживания (я играю на пс4 про в режиме производительности, лол) и меню выбора способностей открывается со скоростью открытия порносайтов под VPN, то есть секунд 15-20.
    Я уверен, что в течение ближайших недель выйдут лечебные патчи, так что сильно за технические недоработки оценку не снижаю.
    Подводя итог, эта борда чудесным образом зашла мне первой из 4ёх (пойду проходить тейлсы, так как оттуда добрая часть персонажей) частей, так что вполне возможно что вам эта игра тоже зайдёт.    … Expand

    On base PS4 this game performs about the same as bloodborne for me. People are blowing the performance issues way out of proportion. The game is great and has awesome characters, gunplay and setpieces. The music is also crazy good.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the game, and I personally plan to play much more, I do have to vent my grievances with this installment.

    The Good:

    Combat has been greatly improved, and I cannot stress it enough. They've added a large variety of enemies, especially the Maliwan troops, which have unique ways to change combat and each have their own special ways to deal with them. For example, there are these large flamethrower enemies that come in different elements, and they have an element pack on their back. If you kill the enemy by shooting their head, eventually their element pack will roll on the ground and explode damaging you. However, if you destroy the pack on their back while they are alive, it will instantly kill them and cause it to detonate much earlier.

    Weapons actually have weight to them now, and makes me imagine how great Borderlands 2 would have been with these shooting mechanics. On top of this movement feels much better, with the ability to ground slam, slide, and mantle. Although these aren't new ideas for first person shooters, it definitely is a welcome addition to Borderlands to cut down on how clunky the previous installments felt.

    Most weapons have also been given new identities. Assault rifles are actually good again, and many weapons have been given alternate fire modes that can be as simple a select fire or changing elements, to giving your weapon an extra barrel, or having tasers and under-barrel rockets. On top of this, the game is filled with new and returning legendaries that feel even more unique than the thousands of randomly generated weapons which you'll discover. Although I feel the game gives some of these legendaries away too easily, as main quest rewards, it doesn't really change much as Borderlands 2 had blue unique weapons that were vastly greater and worse than the legendary lineup. Due to the alternative fire modes of many weapons, some of the new legendaries are not just unique in comparison to the rest of the guns in this game, but in any looter-shooter that I've played.

    Character skill trees are varied, unique, and viable. Anyone who played Borderlands 2 after the level cap increases knows how many characters were forced into the most effective skill tree to kill any of the raid bosses, if they were viable at all. Axton was one of my favorite characters who struggled deeply in the late game due to so much of his power coming from kill skills which are difficult to trigger fighting raid bosses. They added skills or class mods that give players the chance of triggering kill skills while shooting bosses, which seems like a small change but can mean the world of a difference.

    The Bad:

    Dear god the story is horrendous. To be fair its not the worst story on paper, but it is told terrible. The two antagonist don't have much of a personality besides obnoxious teenagers, but even after big events happen they don't seem to react at all. They're static the entire time, and I don't expect them to live up to the behemoth that was Handsome Jack, I wish they would try to make the antagonist more than a generic baddie that you have to kill. The other issue I struggled with is that the charm and humor that the other games were known for felt off. I noticed a prevalence of poop jokes, and lack of serious characters to balance out how wacky everyone else acts. In Borderlands 2, you had Lilith, Roland, and Mordecai as your anchors to reality while Brick and Claptrap were trying to be funny. In Borderlands 3, it seems Lilith is the only character who consistently tries to keep the dialogue bearable. There are some good jokes, usually by Hammerlock or Wainwright, but they're only prevalent on the Eden-6 arc of the story. I can go back and replay Borderlands 2 and still laugh at the jokes because 90% of them still hit, but so many of Borderlands 3's jokes miss the mark. I really hope they tone down the silliness in the DLC's or the next installment.

    The other issue I had with the main game is that it felt just a little bit too easy. The most difficult boss in my experience is before the halfway point, and the final boss is a complete and utter joke. The Warrior wasn't the most difficult boss in gaming, but at least it was a spectacle. Borderlands 3's final boss feels like a throwaway boss you create for filler in the beginning. This also leads to my issue with bosses having invincible stages where you have to wait while they buff. It brings the combat to a holt while you wait for your battle to continue. Other bosses that have buff animations usually have damage mitigation while they buff, so that you still feel like you are doing something.

    The Verdict:

    If you enjoyed the gameplay of Borderlands 2, you're going to love Borderlands 3. Just don't expect a good story or good jokes    … Expand

    i made this account for one reason only. im really tired of all those people who are having problems with randy pitchford, the publishers, and the epic exclusivity ( and i cant say i dissagree with the players point of view) BUT to give a very good game a review that it doesnt deserve because of that is just pure internet dictaroship imo.if someone enjoyed bl2 ( and i spent more thani made this account for one reason only. im really tired of all those people who are having problems with randy pitchford, the publishers, and the epic exclusivity ( and i cant say i dissagree with the players point of view) BUT to give a very good game a review that it doesnt deserve because of that is just pure internet dictaroship imo.if someone enjoyed bl2 ( and i spent more than 2k hrs on it, and thousands more with the rest of the series ofc, my favorite series of all time) theres no way they wont enjoy bl3.after the first hr (cause ive been playing bl2 for 7 years and i needed time to adjust to the small but many changes) everything is really enjoyable. the battles are so fun after you start finding cool guns. im playing on ps4 og and after 5-10 hrs i havent any frame rate issue. i play solo for now.what i dont understand is why people have issues with framerate drops on ps4 pro when my very old ps4 og plays perfect. i dont really care ab crispy graphics but it looks amazing.it plays smooth and im sure il have great time with it for years to come....… Expand

    I've had an absolute blast so far playing this game with friends. For me, the laggyness is apparent when you are in the maps or the menus. It is quite laggy but it is not game breaking for me. The gun play is incredibly fluid. I am sure that the menus issue can be patched.

    18 hours in and so far an amazing sequel. Aside from a few bugs we've noticed in multiplayer settings it plays really smooth. It's pretty much exactly how advertised. if you love borderlands and want more of that then this is the game for you. Gameplay wise the shooting feels amazing and is q complete upgrade from the previous title. Graphics are fantastic for cell shading and if the bugs18 hours in and so far an amazing sequel. Aside from a few bugs we've noticed in multiplayer settings it plays really smooth.     I really cant understand all the 0 reviews. Borderlands 3 sticks to the old Borderlands Formula and brings nice little twists to the table (like changing Fire Mode or salvaging Vehicle Parts for Ellie) I‘m glad they didnt try to do something entirely new; I mean look at AAA Games these Days.. If you had fun with Borderlands 2 you will definitely enjoy Borderlands 3 (I‘m Not havingI really cant understand all the 0 reviews.     Really, like a 7.5. I never really played the borderlands series before, but I'm enjoying this on PS4. It is by no means perfect. The writing is pretty "meh" and the controls feel a little mushy/unresponsive, but I've adjusted. Overall, I've had fun with it and that is all that really matters. Not perfect, but fun and silly.

    More great borderlands! Dunno where all this hates coming from. Its brillant so far with zero issues for me. Its bigger and better. Loving it !!!

    if you like boarderlands 2 you will love boarderlands 3. a lot of the same but different in a good way with quality of graphics, fighting and dialogue. unfortunately we need a patch asap to fix a handful of bugs. this is my favorite 1st person shooter of all time.

    More guns, more planets, more skills, more… more. If you liked the previous ones, this gives you plenty of the same to enjoy. Borderlands 3 is the very definition of the bigger and better sequel. [Issue#168, p.76]

    Factor in the graphical glitches, rampant texture pop-in and generally asthmatic performance levels, even when running on a PS4 Pro with settings optimised to favour smooth running, and there really is no end of reasons not to love Borderlands 3 (and don’t even think about Googling developers Gearbox Games’ litany of employee relations history)...And yet... love it, I do. Guilty as charged.
