    Not much to say besides this game is PHENOMENAL! Its not a Dark Souls game but its damn near close and the new scenery is awesome.......only part that sucks is no blocking but it adds more challenge to dodging and rolling! End of rant.....worth every single penny and then some!

    Much like its spiritual predecessors, Bloodborne has the capability to occupy nearly all of your waking thoughts, whether it be through figuring out how to defeat a certain boss or further delve into its massive world. The combat is fast-paced, the level design is impressive and intricate, and the soundtrack is simply astounding.     This is a phenomenal game. Its visuals far surpass any of the souls games, as well as the gameplay. Rather than hiding behind a shield for hours on end, the combat is extremely fast-paced and dynamic. The atmosphere throughout the game says consistent even through various sceneries. Its an absolute must-buy for every ps4 owner.

    This describes Bloodborne to a T. This intricate dance of ducking, rolling, and sidestepping to slay your enemies with a well timed execution rewards you in a shower of satisfying blood.

    I'm actually surprised at just how much of a Souls game Bloodborne is, and that's a great thing in my book. I was happy to ditch shields in favor of faster paced, more reaction-based combat - and the inclusion of guns aesthetically and functionally feels right. The difficulty is still present, punishing but never unfair, and there are plenty of rewards in both loot and satisfaction to keepI'm actually surprised at just how much of a Souls game Bloodborne is, and that's a great thing in my book.     -Brilliant world in which you will get totally immersed either playing the game as you do killing or roaming around exploring.
    -Gripping story
    -Fun gameplay
    -Easier controls to master compared to the Soul's game
    -Combat is a lot better and more fluid.
    -Very challenging.
    -Excellent value for money.

    Cons.
    -Load times after dying.
    -When you look at the likes of Killzone,inFamous and Order visually it's not the best. (but don't forget the game is HUGE to make a game like this look like the order it would take 9 or 10 years.

    As an avid gamer with both and X1 and PS4 I have to say this is easily the best exclusive out there (as much as i loved Sunset Overdrive) and a real System Seller.

    Game Of the Year already!?!? I cannot stress this enough, if you do not play Bloodborne you are missing history not in the making but already made. Please find an excuse/ lie/legit reason/ to have your love ones get you this game now if you can't afford it. To the gamers with 60$ we already have it and if you don't put frozen thin sliced bologna in your PS4 and play that.

    I've been a fan of Fromsoftware since King's Field 2 ( King's Field 1 in USA) and these games never seem to disappoint. .

    I recieved Bloodborne the 20th of March and was happy that I got it early but online features weren't available so the 20 hours I spent over the weekend playing it wasn't with online features.     When i first started playing the controls seemed really bad, but that is probably becuase I was used to Dark Souls. I do not know how many times I used a blood vial by accident.

    Game is still tough. I find it a lot harder than Dark Souls series, but this could also be because it's something new. Bosses are awesome..

    One thing that did bother me about this game is the load times. In a game where you die a lot the load times are too long. I really hope they cut that down in a future patch.

    Oh and there isn't as many weapons in Bloodborne as there are in souls but I see why they did it like this.

    Enjoy everyone, it's awesome. Stop reading reviews and buy the damn game. Finally a PS exclusive that does not disappoint...    … Expand

    The first must have of this generation. An amazing game that you wont be able to put down once you start. Fast, exciting gameplay. Thrills and excitement. Think you're safe? Sorry, there's something that wants to kill you behind that box.

    Secret passageways, awesome bosses, awesome graphics, awesome gameplay. The first MUST HAVE on the ps4

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I wanted to like this game, I really really really did. The graphics were obviously downgraded from the trailers shown at events, and while the story was definitely not a major part of the game it was still very lacking. I was absolutely disgusted with the ending, it really was a cop-out with it just being all a dream. I loved that they tried making it lovecraftian, but it feels like the main idea of lovecraftian horror went right over FROM's head. The gameplay is identical to previous games in the Souls series, but much much easier. The overabundance of healing items makes the game far to easy when you consider the fact that it takes about an eighth of a second to actually heal. The easy healing makes the game much less punishing, and your healthbar essentially becomes your Healthbar+(Amount of Blood Vials * Amount healed by Blood Vials). The lack of content in the chalice dungeons is also very disappointing, and more often than not you'll find yourself walking down hallways that look and feel exactly the same over and over again, but I guess there's not really much you can do with randomly generated content.

    Overall I'd give the game a 5/10. It's a step back from its predecessors, and while it touches upon some interesting concepts the fundamentals of those concepts went right over FROMs head.    … Expand

    Nothing comes close to this.
    A Master Piece and a reference for all developers for all future Projects.
    Highly Recommended and the ONLY game that justifies the purchase of a PS4.
    Even if you're not in the Souls Series game, you owe it to yourself to experience Bloodborne.

    A must buy for any souls fan out there. the game is amazing in every aspect. and as usual for a from software game it has a great replay value. is not surprise that this is the best game on ps4. i give it a 9/10 and it not reaches the 10 just for the frame drop and the loading time. im just having the best fun playing this game, something that didnt happen in all 2014.

    If your a Souls player then you definitely need to play this game, i recommend it and if you dont have a PS4 go out and buy one cuz your missing out on alot!

    Bloodborne is amazing and as close to perfection as you can get. Clearly the 0 reviews on this site are designed to bring the game score down. No game is worthy unless it's completely broken. Don't believe the hate and pick this up if you have a PS4!

    This is easily one of my favorite games of all time and the best of the soul series being a souls veteran my self with over 1500 on dark souls 500 on demon souls and 300 onn dark souls 2 i think that this one is my favorite from all the "souls" games

    Always was afraid to try hard games like Dark Souls and such. But with Bloodborne I found myself suck in to the world. It is hard, but it does give you a chance with its fast attack mechanics in all. Gave it a 8 and not a 9 because of some minor glitches, think they should of gone more in depth with the origins and story but overall great game.

    This game is just amazing. The atmosphere the action part, soundtrack i cant find anything that could be bad i played 10 hours with the 1.0.1 and the loading time is around 10-17 sec that is not that much. Look forward to see the covenants.

    Already died 20 times and 5 of them with the first boss; cursing at him for all the health i loos when I try to to change blood for silver bullets and fail to recover that blood. Loving this game.

    Do you like the Souls games? Buy this immediately. If you don't know the Souls series then ask yourself, do you fancy the idea of being ravaged by a pack of tomahawk-wielding silverback gorillas? If so, buy this game.

Everything you need to know can be found in game with a good sense of exploration and a little bit of critical thinking. This is by no means a casual game. You'll definitely need to utilize every bit of your smarts, reflexes, and persistence in order to make it through this game. Bloodborne is truly a work of art in every form.     I couldn't sleep for days. I wasn't sure about Bloodborne after The Order 1886's disappointment. But I gave Bloodborne and Sony last chance to keep my PS4 in the gaming room and it saved me. This game, Bloodborne, is money worth and an exclusive of high quality gameplay. Arigatou gozaimasu

    - Nothing was learned of the improvements in Dark Souls 2: no respecs, can't use more than 1 item at a time, dual wielding, etc.
    - Miyazaki still does not know how to design stats at all. Arcane is only effective in PvE and Bloodtinge is worthless.
    - NPCs are as shallow as they were in Dark Souls 2, they literally have no stories at all.
    - Chalice dungeons are needlessly grindy and will be what causes this game to have DLC.
    - All this creativity went into weapon design, but you still riposte with your fist.
    - Other minor **** that bugged me: stair ripostes are still impossible and your character can't be left-handed.

    Hopefully this is a helpful review for anyone considering purchasing this game.    … Expand

    So satisfying and rewarding, totally recommended to anyone, regardless of whether you like Dark Souls or not, in fact if you didn't like Dark Souls for the combat then this negates that with it being faster and more aggressive so even non-DS fans might love it.

If you enjoyed any of the demons' Souls/Dark Souls games then you owe yourself a favor in picking this one up!

    Combat is a blast and the rest of the guy just    I've only played a few hours but so far it's blatantly obvious that this is a very high quality game. The sounds are creepy, the enemies are very creepy, and the atmosphere blows any other "survival horror" game out of the water. If you enjoyed any of the demons' Souls/Dark Souls games then you owe yourself a favor in picking this one up!

    ~11 hours. Starting off can be a little difficult, but take your time, explore, and the game will open up nicely. Currently beat 5 bosses so far, they were some epic battles. Feels great not being able to turtle, you're forced to play aggressive. Enemies do huge damage to your character, but you can gain almost all your health back    Been playing the game since midnight launch.

    Currently beat 5 bosses so far, they were some epic battles. Feels great not being able to turtle, you're forced to play aggressive.

    Enemies do huge damage to your character, but you can gain almost all your health back with counter attacks thanks to the regain system. A very fun system indeed. My tip: your health regenerates proportional to your damage, so a high damage weapon with a quick lead time is the ideal weapon to exploit regain.

    Another tip: if you're frustrated with a boss fight, or keep dying in an area, go somewhere else. The world is large, and you may have just taken a wrong turn :)

    I am having an absolute blast with this game... although, not sure WTF is going on with the story. Not that it matters, it's all about the gameplay baby!

It's the fact that FromSoftware managed to build up a game with many, many new ideas without forgetting its roots. Bloodborne feels like one of the Souls Games in many ways but still manages to bring fresh ideas to the mix.     The combat offers a great risk & reward system due to it's lack of defensive options like heavy shields or armor and even though this feels pretty strange in the beginning, you get use to it pretty fast. And when you face one of the first two bosses you realize, that you have to go with the now combat flow - and that it's awesome! Rushing around the battlefield, poking and dodging your enemy feels pretty rewarding and makes a lot of fun.

    Graphics are great and really atmospheric, some minor framedrops sometimes annoy a bit, but besides that everything is fine.

    There are not as many weapons but the "few" you've got are absolutely great. Every weapon has two modes which you can choose and which give them another feel to it but the weapons itself are pretty creative and different and offer a lot of different playstyles.

    There is so much more I could say, since I'm playing it since Saturday, but only that much: Bloodborne is the first game of this gen, that doesn't only fulfill it's promises, it even surpasses them. Besides the rare framedrops and the long loading times (up to 30-40secs, sometimes) there is not much bad to say about Bloodborne. The first GOTY candidate and definately worth a look, at least.    … Expand

I've spent the whole day playing this and IT SURPASSES DEMON SOULSS!! harder than demon souls, and with more content, better dialogues, better story, better atmosphere, better soundtrack, better boss fights, there are some bosses that you will never forget in your life.

    Before I start with my small review, first I have to say, LOL the xbox fanboys so buthurt and salty.     It's faster ,harder , darker, more gothic than the other souls game ,The Van Helsing type game is just awesome ,the Gameplay feels like any other souls game and i enjoy this game. PS4 sure as hell needed this after the disgrace known as The Order 18-something.

    Bloodborne is the best Game on the PS4. The atmosphere is incredible and the combat system makes a lot of fun. Fans of the "Souls" series will love this game.

    Great music and scenery! This is the best game of From Software so far. Awesome mastepiece. You have to dodge all the time which is great fun. Highly recommend this game to any newcomers, and souls fans.

    This is my ideal succesor of the soul game. The immersion really great, the control really responsive, the multiplayer fun and exciting. Eventhough it coined as successor of soul series, the gameplay style itself feel really fresh. Being an agresive player is more rewarded.

    Not been able to find any faults with it and the loading times drama is way overblown. Gameplay 10/10 Story    This is my ideal succesor of the soul game.     First time playing a From Software game. I have to say this game is freaking amazing! Once I'm done with this which I'm sure it will not be for a while I'm gonna give the Dark Souls games a shot. I just love that feeling of accomplishment with this very difficult but addicting game.

    when given a whole body blow , a large amount of adrenaline secreted.

    Utterly engrossing. Miyazaki is back on top form with this gruesome, gothic romp through the cavernous streets of Yarnham. The gameplay is frenetic yet precise, the atmosphere is dark and heavy and the sound design ... oh the sound design. Overall: truly spectacular and a must own.

    Beautiful game, coming by From Software, I waited so long for something like that.
    It's extremely immersive , it's kind of dream or nightmare , the graphics are amazing.

    It has Great Soundtrack and Scenery, Immersion and everything good can define this game, for sure a must buy.

    The Xbox fanboys and PC fanboys are trying their best to speak negative in the user score of this game :/ This game is one of the best games of the year! It easily exceeded my expectations :) Monsters leave their mark on you, co-op is amazing, and the weapons are really cool :D Honestly, I think this is definitely worth the purchase and easily the best game to come out so far for PS4 this year :D

The difficulty of the game comes from subverting a players expectations when booting a game up. There are so many titles that aim to place the player in a position of power, one wherein the perceived danger is just enough to cyclically communicate small accomplishments at a rapid pace, pushing the player further. Bloodborne isn't as interested in patting players on the back and offering a gold star for participation.

    Bloodborne offers an oppressive world that is never unfair. It communicates clearly what it expects from you and punishes you in kind for not following the rules that it lays out. If you learn. If you endure. Every victory will bring genuine fulfillment.

    The graphics are some of the best available to the current generation of games, with the occasional framerate hiccup. These performance issues may detract for some people, but they have not compromised my ability to play the game in the slightest. They do, however, momentarily break immersion during intense fights. Hopefully this is something that can be patched. The load times are also frustrating - partly because of their actual length, but also because I just want to get back to the game.

    I'll return to this review as I experience more and will flesh it out to include specific gameplay mechanics.     Bloodborne keeps everything that made the Souls games great and finds way to make it better. The combat is faster and more exciting and the whole game is infused with a haunting Lovecraft-style atmosphere, but the satisfying challenge is still there. From Software knocks another one out of the park; it's still early, but Bloodborne is a definite contender for game of the year.

    It's everything Dark Souls was, cranked up to 11. This is the best non-remake game on new gen yet. (The Last of Us was one of my favorite games of all time, however).

    This is a system seller if there ever was one. Hard, but not in stupid ways. It challenges you to be better and you will, or you will die repeatedly.

    An absolute monster of a game. Dark, brutal but still their is beauty in all this darkness. The art direction is impeccable and the fighting system is incredibly rewarding and fun. Absolute must buy and the first real system seller for PS4!

    I dont want to write a very long and complexity review cuz i dont have time for dat, ( need to go back and shut my life with da game, know wat im sayin XD !!?? ) So i will just simply tell you the Pros & Cons:

    PROs:
    + The best looking FROM Software game thus far! Also, Running on native 1080p 30fps.
    + Story wise is not the core of the game, but its indeed well constructed.
    +. Very challenging, even to vetetan Demon/Dark-Soul players cuz the game mechanic is faster and more aggressive than previous titles. If you play passively like you did in DS, then you are gonna get rekt-ed.
    + The soundtracks. Played and you will understand of how beautiful it real'y is ;).
    + Chalice Dungeon, an online mode dat is unique to Demon Souls, Dark Souls. It will give you re-playable value sky rocketed, I guarantee!
    + Combats & Weaponry are excellent! Unlike dark souls 2 where we have tons of weapons but most of them are pretty much useless at some point and have no real identity in it. Bloodborne is opposite to dat, its chose the Path of Quality over Quantity. Since each weapon will give you different moves, different builds, different effects, powers, buffs, etc. Every single weapon is important & Unique, It is very diversity in its own way.
    + Boss fights. If you think Dark Souls 2 boss fight was great ? Think again cuz Bloodborne just delivered this awesomeness to a whole new scale, its much more scarier, its much more graphically improvement and its indeed way more HARDER. (especially those in Chalice Dungeon.)

    Now is the sad part about the game, the Cons....
    CONs:
    - Framerate would drop at around 24-26 fps when you are in boss fight, very rare tho.
    - buggy & loading screen, i have only met twice so far, but it is indeed in the game.

    However, since these cons are very unessential and a little buggy with a framerate drops can be found in any game you can list of, not to mention i played the game BEFORE the launch XD!. Im sure when the game released, then It will be perfect :).

    If you are a fan of the series you'll love this game. The faster pace is a refreshing change to the already amazing game play formula. This game may not be for everyone (especially the obvious trolls giving it a 0 thinking they are accomplishing something) but for those who do enjoy it, they will enjoy it allot.

    The game is awesome, it's definitely the best ps4 games so far (excluding tlou remastered). It's not without its fault too( long loading time) but I still give this a 10 because some trolls decided that 0 is an acceptable score to this game( or any games for that matter). Overall, a real gem.
