The story, which is told in a very subtle fashion similar to other FROM SOFTWARE games, is deep and rich and is told through multiple methods. The world feels alive. Its as if you are trapped in the mind of Edgar Allen Poe during a nightmare of opium induced terror. The game functions a bit like survival horror in that items are limited and can become scarce while in the filed. The combat is precise and response and happens at a break neck pace. The most significant issues are the loading screen times, making the inability to succinctly fast travel a huge burden and immersion breaking. Frame rate drops happen at times and can really affect game play, particularly in online sessions of cooperative play or PvP.

If you have any interest in Bloodborne I highly recommend purchasing it.

GRAPHICS: Truly the best looking game on the PS4 to date. Incredible detail and textures, the application of cloth physics is amazing, lighting is superb and its a joy to look at.

SOUND: With only the occasional drop in audio while playing online and a few distance to reception quirks, the sound is fantastic.

SOUNDTRACK: Amazing, simply amazing. One of the best and most atmospheric soundtracks in any game.

VOICE ACTING: The voice acting is perfect, well written dialogue that is consistently delivered well.

STORY: One could play the entire game and only taste a portion of the story if they just want action or you can delve deep into the game and explore every nook and cranny for details. Told in a subtle manner with amazing side quests, the story telling is amazing. Exceptionally well written and well told without many cut scenes. This is some of the strongest story telling yet in gaming.

GAME PLAY: The game play is amazingly well crafted. The combat is tough, fair and fast with even the simplest of enemies able to exploit a mistake and capitalize on others that follow if you don't recover well. The rally mechanic, a form of limited duration regain, can make you reckless and will kill you, but if done well can make the difference between life and death. The ability to instantly store items when you are full is brilliant and allows for farming of needed items and materials when they get scarce. The refilling of needed items on death from your storage keeps you in the game and willing to take another run at the level.

GAME DESIGN: The level design is truly remarkable. Secret paths, interesting traps, interconnected and winding levels with adequate lantern (save points) sites creates a feeling of tension and urges you to explore more so you can find that next shortcut. One of the best designed games in a long time. However the choice to always require a return to the Hunters Dream Refuge (hub) and not allow fast travel between check points, coupled with unbearably long loading screens is mystifying choice. This is the only real ding I have for this game. Otherwise I find the title immensely compelling.

MULTI-PLAYER: Frame rate drops happen later in the game and particularly during online play. This and the loading screens and limited fast travel need to be addressed. Otherwise the cooperative play and PvP is really well executed and a joy to participate in.

If you weren't a fan of the Souls games, I strongly believe that this is still worth a go. The subtle changes make the game more accessible while not compromising the difficulty that old fans of the series love.
    An absolutely brilliant game.

I know the loading times are slow for most people, but if you are like me and own a different HDD with a faster RPM or just an SSD than you will load very quick...takes me about 20 seconds max and FS already said they are working on a patch.

Absolutely incredible, as a huge fan of the Souls series I can safely say that this game has definitely lived up to the hype. The visuals, sounds, music , atmosphere, everything is pretty much perfect. I have played for around 25 hours now and there is no end in sight, each area is full of secrets and little shortcuts to explore.

I was worried that the charm of the series would be lost

The visuals, sounds, music , atmosphere, everything is pretty much perfect. I have played for around 25 hours now and there is no end in sight, each area is full of secrets and little shortcuts to explore.

I was worried that the charm of the series would be lost when the director said that they were trying to open the game up to a wider audience but I am happy to say that I'm not sure what he meant by that because the difficulty and the satisfaction of beating a boss after it has wrecked you several times is still there. I find this game to be more of a challenge than Dark Souls 2, especially with the removal of the Estus Flask mechanic that regenerates at the bonfires. You now have a finite number of healing items that have to be bought or looted from enemies.

The only downsides I can see are the long loading times, they're often up to 30 seconds long. It's really not bad enough to take a point off my final score but I'm glad to hear that they're working on a patch to reduce them.

Overall if you are a fan of Demon's and Dark Souls then this is simply a must buy, you cannot miss this game.

Good news are that this game lives up to it's hype and the good critic reviews. Controls, opponent design, character customization and development are really good. Some may not like the art-style of this game (like me), while others will probably love the dark, creepy graphics style. However this doesn't matter a lot in terms of the fun you definitely will have with this game.

I personally like this game's mechanics a lot more than the ones of the Dark Souls series as this game is more fast paced. Nonetheless it is still as punishing as it's predecessor, which is a good thing since I am absolutely fed up with games that you just spend hours over hours with to grind for materials or to steam roll through the levels without ever having faced a single challenge. Just be aware of the fact that this game is tough as nails! But this also is why this game feels so rewarding and satisfying ... you have to be on your toes at all times since even the weakest mob can kill you within 3 seconds at the beginning of the game. But once you made it to the next save spot ... boy you will feel a relief and you will know you really earned the credits to upgrade your gear with.

If you disregard some of this game's technical flaws, such as loading times of 25 seconds with a SSHD (which might be fixed with a future patch) as well as significant fps drops, the game easily can be rated as a 9. I am glad to have picked up this game and I can't wait for spending more time with it in the upcoming evening!

I never played the Dark Souls games which everyone seems to compare this to, because I never owned a PS3 or Xbox system. The last console I purchased besides the Wii U was the Playstation 2. Yeah I'm dating myself, I know. Enormous gothic castles, extremely dark overtones, creaky gates, the lumbering footsteps and heavy breathing of an enormous beast you can't see, and oh god don't you wish you knew where it was. it's just absolutely amazing and beautiful. What a way to start off my experience with the PS4. A+++

The only complaint I could possibly have is the loading times. I die, a lot. Having to look at that loading screen on a regular basis and fiddle with my phone until its over does detract from the experience a bit. I heard they're trying to patch that issue, and when that happens this game will legitimately be flawless.

It has action, adventure, swordplay, shooting mechanics, dungeon crawling genre mixed in, and that old school game flavor of "skill required" to beat (or like demon souls and dark souls to make it easy to understand if you never played Contra and Ninja Gaiden). If you are a fan of Demon's Souls or Dark Souls, you will love this game. The combat is much faster than Dark Souls, but is really more rewarding, because you can't just sit back and block every enemy attack with a shield. The Regain system works wonderfully, basically if you take damage from an enemy, and strike them back quickly you have a chance of gaining some of your health back, however it is the definition of high risk high reward as you leave yourself vulnerable to the enemies attacks in the process. The game is beautiful, and there is a lot of content in the game, and you will most likely miss a good chunk of it on your first playthrough, encouraging a NG+ playthrough. Have you ever have come across something in your life that you have seen once but knew instantly it was genuine? This is one of those games. Have played all 3 souls game and like most I didn't care for the latest. The more I saw of this game the more surprised I started getting until i had the chance to try it out. If you are familiar with the series then you will notice the intricate changes in the system and the game and in some ways it takes a few things away but offer so much much more. There is a reason everyone is keeping some of things they saw vague as they too understand how amazingly well this game was crafted. I didn't expect it... not by a mile. This isn't something you might realize you like until you try it.

That being said, there is no way that one game can satisfy everybody's needs. So don't be stupid and get carried away by someone elses enthusiasm, do your research.. play the others and see if you got a taste for it, because it sure as hell isn't for everyone. Punishing Challenging is the best word to associate these games with and as such if you are looking to relax this might not be for you. Don't be a sheep and pay for something you eventually know is not for you and in turn blame the game.

This is the hardest game I've ever played - but also one of the most artistically stunning games I've ever played. The gameplay, the atmosphere, the customization, the sense of not knowing what's going to be around the next corner - definitely an exciting experience. Don't miss out on this masterpiece!

Bloodborne is another incredible chapter in the Dark Souls lineage by FromSoftware. Although not a Dark Souls game, its design and tone are of a similar vein. Although not a Dark Souls game, its design and tone are of a similar vein. Its sprawling gothic environments transport you to the hopeless, plague ridden town of Yarhnam, where as a lone hunter you will navigate its harrowing perils and unforgiving enemies, dangling on a single thread between life and death. The artfully dark character design is much improved from its predecessors on the next gen console, hair in particular seems to have a real life of its own as it billows and moves like ripples of water. The graphics themselves are not game changing however they are effective enough to breathe real life and character into the game, setting just the right tone. The AI is also much improved, movements are smooth and exaggerated giving you a real sense of the supernatural strength behind your enemies attacks. Although the enemies do become predictable to a sense it doesn't make them less dangerous or the game less challenging, their attacks vary often, and a single mistake can cost you dearly.

The game does have a few drawbacks however but not enough in my opinion to write it off completely. Unfortunately Bloodborne has inherited the age old struggle of Dark Souls titles, the dreaded crazed camera syndrome. This is especially frustrating when facing bosses, as if you didn't have enough on your plate, it doesn't however make these encounters impossible, it just throws that extra proverbial wrench into an already challenging situation, I suppose this makes the victory all the more sweeter?

Another disappointment for me was the pretty non-existent story. Now to be fair FromSoftware has never been known for having rich, detailed plots lined with rewarding character arc's so in that sense this is not much of a surprise. Still this seems like a huge wasted opportunity, especially with such an incredible backdrop, you would think even a sliver of a plot, no matter how simplistic would enhance an already incredible game. Sadly this is missing entirely. Perhaps FromSoftware was doing us a favor, "keep it simple stupid" is a moniker most games seem to avoid at their peril these days with plot lines often becoming so convoluted that you need an advanced degree in calculous to figure out what the **** is going on. Bloodborne is no "Last of Us" but its immersive game play and great overall design pickup the slack where the story falters.

The real highlight of this game however is found in its incredibly haunting sound design, everything from footsteps, to the musical score lends itself well to the creepy, hopeless, gothic atmosphere of Yarhnam, creating moments of sheer terror, enhanced by the already adrenaline pumping game mechanics. Bloodborne is easily one of the best titles to be released in the action genre for PS4 thus far and sets the stage for an exciting future full of tantalizing possibilities. Turn off the lights, turn up the volume and enjoy the ride.

The loading time is a little (sometimes 15-20sec) long but it's worth waiting:) Even though the attacking style is different from previous souls games, it is a lot of fun~ Last but not least, PRAISE THE SUN!!! Dark Souls 1 is among my favorite games ever, it's punishing difficulty, it's RPG elements, it's bits and pieces of strategy, it's lore and memes, etc. Bloodborne not so much. It's completely downgraded it's RPG elements and has become more of your typical hack and slash instead of an action RPG. There's nothing necessarily wrong with hack and slash games, but if you're going to label your game an RPG and claim it's a spiritual predecessor to Dark Souls. It should not feel so shallow.

However, as a hack and slash it brings nothing new to the table aside from difficulty and feels genuinely boring most of the time.

Here are just a couple gripes I had with Bloodborne:

Ai is a crapshoot. Bosses attacking walls, pathing is poor, enemies blindly run at you. I can forgive this, other games have this problem. What I can't forgive is how similar the ENPC's are. Chances the best way to kill them is just bum rushing them and the stunlocking them straight to hell. this was not entirely the case with past souls ENPCS.

There's a lack of variety and choice.
    - I have found 15 weapons, supposedly there are 24 total with a handful of weapons that switch, yet that stills leaves only around 30 weapons, 30 rather similar fucntioning weapons. Chances are you're just going to upgrade your starting weapons and use those from beginning to finish without really having to try anything else.
    -There's no magic.
-No tanky builds, heavier armor will just get you hit more often and it barely reduces damage at all. There's one shield in the entire game and it's not viable. You're better off building lite and regenerating health by striking the boss back.
-Basically everyone is building a "dexterity" character: a quick, high damage, glass-cannon designed to output high amounts of damage and dodge damage in general. This is only mechanically viable way to play game.
-The entire essence of choice is very, very limited. Both in actuality and mechanically.

The lore is lacking, not as interesting as Dark Souls or Demon Souls. While the setting is nice and grimdark, it simply lacks the lore that added to Dark Souls in a positive way. Silly ending too. The lack of Friendly NPC's in this game also detracts from its quality. Though, I won't hold this against BB in my score.

Bloodborne is just a darker Dark Souls with downgraded RPG elements that made the souls series good in the first place. By all means, Bloodborne should feel free to be different, but at least add something new whenever you take something old away. Miyazaki was obviously trying to make a more combat oriented game, with less emphasis on choice and exploration and more on swift and brutal fights. It's just your typical hack and slash, more comparable to Bayonetta and The Batman Arkham series than it's predecessors. Overrated.

    2. Loading screens can get annoying.
    3. Camera controls + lock on (big monsters are hard to deal with in small areas [due to camera] while the lock on can be lost by just dodging the wrong direction or the mob going behind a small wall)
    4. Outfit selection (Outfits basically look the same)
    5. Loot (Mobs don't drop loot like they use to, now they only drop misc items. Part of the fun was getting that cool armor this mob had on or getting their weapon etc.)
    6. Co-op (is a pain to get into at least at the start, used my only insight and never got someone to join me within a 30 minute period)

I like the idea of the atmosphere. It feels a bit like Alice: Madness returns but it seriously lacks the character from that title. I have a feeling this will drop in price quickly. You see this motive even in the story, it seems like an timeless and endless dream. ...and in spite of this the action itself is very fast and wild. A perfect contrast!

The game is unforgiving. I died a lot, but I learned from every death.
There are not many games that have to be explored step by step so carefully. But step by step you master the games secrets. Every little success feels like a great victory - there is more adrenalin and satisfaction in this game than in most games of the last years.
A brilliant Gothic setting, marvelous atmosphere, very good graphics und sound.
The only small flaw I saw: There are a few (a very few) camera problems. Sometimes (seldom) the camera rotates into a box or behind a wall. But than again: you can correct it in a blink of an eye manually. So I give a 10 because there is no 9.8...
Thank you, From Software, for this masterpiece!

Not only this, but you'll be doing it 50 times in a row just to defeat a boss to progress. I understand that it makes the game rewarding when you finally nail the boss, but surely they could have made something differ along the way.

Possibly the most over hyped game of this gen?

Pro's: Beautifully designed, this is a stunning piece of art brought to life to awesome effect. Scary, dark and it draws you in completely. As a long time PC gamer I didn't expect too much from my PS4 but wow can it deliver some stunning visuals. Challenging, if you like your hand held and don't like dying this game will frustrate and generally infuriate you. Souls vet's know what to expect here and relish in it even. Great combat that still rewards skillful timing and approach. This is perhaps the single biggest draw to the game as beating a boss with skill is extremely rewarding. I love this aspect of the game. Finally, sound design deserves a mention here. The roars, screeches and thumps are genuinely frightening and immerse you even deeper into this twisted world.

Con's: I was really hoping we were done with framerate issues after DS 1 and 2, but it's back and worse then ever. The framerate can drop to single digits at times. This is no fun to anyone and I really hope they can patch the game to alleviate some of these issues. Loooong load times. It seems next-generation games generally take much longer to load. This is unfortunate especially considering how you have to warp back to the hub, wait for it to load, then warp somewhere else and again wait for it to load. A strange oversight from a developer known to pay attention to detail and it must be fixed.

Neutral: As with DS 1 and 2 the game is convoluted both in terms of story and on how you should build your character. I both dislike and like this as it adds mystery to the world but at the same time I don't like putting my points into a stat only to find out later on I wasted them and the game didn't tell me this was possible. Be very careful. Also, the game is too similar to Dark Souls which may or may not appeal to you. Me personally, I would have liked Bloodborne to be more different but as I love the Souls games I can't say I'm not satisfied.

Final Thoughts: I am very pleased with most aspects of Bloodborne and I will be sinking a-lot of time into this game without question. If you have not played Dark Souls and are going in blind with Bloodborne just remember to give it some time. At first you will be frustrated but as you learn the game you will discover the beauty and challenge to be rewarding. Long time Souls vets, this is an easy buy and you already know that. Cheers!

Maybe the game is not your type of game, but that doesn't make it a bad game. Like I for example don't like Minecraft but I definitely think it is a great game in it's own right. Normally I would give this title a 9.6, but this is not possible here, so it has to be a 10/10. This game was the main reason for buying my ps4 and hell I don't regret it! :) This is probably my game of the year 2015, because I can't imagine a game that would beat this in 2015. If this is not your type of game just don't play it but if you like good rpgs with focus on skill and gameplay (story not so much), this is as good as it gets!! For me on par with DemonSouls and DarkSouls (or even slightly better, time will tell) and better than DarkSouls2. Expand

Load times are 15 seconds at MOST with my SDD. Frame rate can still be a little spotty, but it's never too much of a problem because the game runs at 30FPS anyway (which looks really slow to me). The game is legitimately scary in its atmosphere and well spaced jump scares. The weapons are all fun as hell, but it doesn't seem to have too many weapons. It's fine though, because all the weapons are unique and vastly different than one another. Playing with the threaded cane (which is massively overpowered by the way) is completely different than playing with the saw cleaver. 97/100, so basically a 10/10, it's a mastahpiece Expand

The level design it's perfect, multiple ways all interconnected, a lot of creepy places and monsters that will give you nightmares, a fast paced combat, that is close, but feels very very different from the rest of the souls series... Imagine a world filled with oppression , punishment , horrifying sights and sounds . Mixed within is a strange beauty . Make no mistake bloodborne is beautiful . This world entices you and sucks you in completely . The combat at first seemed unsatisfying but once you get the hang of it is fantastic . Enemies in this game are some of the best designed I have ever seen . From the attacks they perform to the sheer variety .

Bloodborne will not hold your hand and will teach you very little . It pretty much leaves you to your own devices . In the early hours it helps to grind a little bit and level up your chrachter . I've encounterd three bosses so far . When you fell these bosses you feel a sense of both accomplishment and relief . There is no question that bloodborne is for the hardcore gamer . You pretty much aren't safe anywhere except locations marked by lanterns which transport you to hunters dream ( similar to souls bonfires ) .

Is this better than dark souls ?. I do not know and those who claim to know are fools . Is the influence of Dark Souls present absolutely . However albeit with an entirely different ambience and setting . Parts of bloodborne will unsettle you . It is my opinion the game should come with a warning label as it features plenty of tense moments .

This is a difficult game . It was designed that way and from knows their audience very well . The art design and sound are fantastic . There are a wealth of options when creating your chrachter . Tons of weapons to equip and side quests . When you encounter a friendly npc who wishes to help you it can be an awe inspiring and memorable moment .

This game is packed to the brim with content and features a new game plus option as well . The influence of some of the best games ever are felt here and bloodborne seeks to go beyond them . How you approach many situations is up to you . There is a whole lot to explore here .

One can't help but think of The Divine Comedy when playing bloodborne . The tone , the sights , the atmosphere it's all very unsettling . Yet oddly beautiful . The architecture and how it all connects is absolutely some of the best level design I have ever seen . Much like The Divine Comedy bloodborne will be considered a masterpiece . A tapestry of excellence interwoven with an outstanding about of effort and it shows . Bloodborne a macabre masterpiece a truly harrowing achievement . In my humble opinion it is the crown jewel of the from software collection . While writing this review all I could think of was playing again an extremely rare occurrence from me .

If you have the will , the fortitude and a ps4 you need to pick this up . As it truly is one of those sprawling epic pieces of art that only appear once in a blue moon . Bloodborne is both a love letter to survival horror and the RPG . When you combine those two things with the talent at from you get bloodborne and man am I glad I got it .

I can see people who rarely play video games of this genre struggling with this game so maybe not entirely the casual players taste. BUT for those who have taken so many tries to beat a boss....kinda sad. I've managed to beat the first boss (cleric beast) on 2nd try and Father Gascoigne on 1st attempt. Challenging, yes, but manageable, of course. It does not take long to notice patterns in enemies and find quick methods to dispatch them. Advice: Dodge until you grow accustomed to these patterns.

Anyways, game is definitely worth the money IF you appreciate the genre and gothic brutal-ness of storytelling. Cons: Framerate is not great for the faster paced fighting. Long load times, but I find this more of a reason not to die haha. And kind of a thin variety of gear early on so far.

The mechanic is the simplest of button mashing with a particularly slow and unresponsive avatar, if you guys remember Another World and the first Prince of Persia then remove the puzzle elements and make it 3D then this is what you're looking at. Don't expect God Of War fluidity here.

Visually I'm not sure if everyone else is experiencing a different game to me, but the enemies are both repetitive and unimaginative, and while the world textures and shaders are OK the geometry is decidedly last generation, this is not a game to wow your PC gamer friends with, heck it's not even a game to wow your PS3 owning friends with.

On the mechanics, well there's no real sense of satisfaction with this game despite what most reviewers claimed. You kill all the enemies in an area either piecemeal or simply run around and avoid them, and you're just greeted with more of the same. There's not even much of a challenge if you're patient and take your time, it's just kinda dull, and once you've defeated a boss you really don't feel anything other than "oh, ok".

There's nothing visceral about the operation either, the weapons feel floaty and disconnected, there's no satisfying sound effect or visual effect when you hit your mark, the motion just carries on through and you know that you did your job because the little bar above them goes down. Guns are really only there to distract/attract and separate enemies from the pack, you can also use them for riposte and to stagger an enemy in the middle of their attack, but as a weapon they do next to no damage.

You will have a hard time finding reason to carry on playing beyond a few hours simply because there's no real reward for continuation. There's scant little narrative and even fewer characters, the world and it's geometry is even more repetitive than the first Infamous city, you will see the same geometry endlessly so there's little visual reward for exploring, the single mechanic of fighting is not exactly a strong point either. Mostly you'll carry on because you invested however much money and you'll be damned if you're not going to get your moneys worth out of it one way or another!

I gather they built this with a very small team, so I guess you can forgive it's lack of story, visual, UI and mechanical flaws, it's basically a more expensive indie title, and for that it's decent enough. It comes up for free with Playstation Plus then it would definitely be worth downloading as there's at least a decent play length. But it's not worth spending more than perhaps $15 on. It might make a decent IOS game too, in fact that's probably the ideal platform, gameplay and graphics wouldn't suffer at all, the only trouble would be the lack of pause/save, otherwise this could even be a port from an IOS hack & slash game.

Skip, wait for the next half finished cookie cutter Japanese monster hunting game to make it to the shelves, it will be the same but have attractive girls weilding giant swords and more imaginative scenery.

    2) When I fired up the game, the character creation screen uses a very low res model. It's not a big deal but the rest of the game is so gorgeous that it was jarring.
    3) It bothers me a little bit that other developers get flack for rehashing the same formula time and again while From Software gets a pass. The formula is starting to feel repetitive to me.

An absolute gem and a standard at which future games should be held to.

Graphics: The graphics are beautiful and the frame rate is consistently smooth. I've been playing this game not stop since it's release and have no complaints here at all. They're not the best graphics I have ever seen, but Bloodborne really takes advantage of the ps4's hardware without sacrificing gameplay.

Gameplay: From Software is known for difficult gameplay that relies more on skill than what gear you have. That's not to say that there's a lack of items, because there's not, but it's refreshing to progress in game because you are getting better not because you're numbers are getting bigger (although bigger numbers do help).

Combat: The fighting is fast and fluid. The starting weapons I chose were the pistol and sawcleaver (a transforming weapon). In one form my melee was a fast swinging, arching, short range saw, the other form was a long reaching cleaver. While I wielded this weapon in my right hand, I had my pistol in the left. I soon realized this particular pistol was best used defensively. If you time your shot just right you can stun an attacking enemy leaving it open for a deadly riposte ; if you time your shot wrong you'll take some damage off as your target proceeds to eat your face. The firearms serve more purposes, that's just how I choose to use mine. Going shield-less (and you will for a while) keeps you on your guard as you rely on dogging and counter attacks. Any enemy can be beaten; any enemy can destroy you. If you take damage you have a brief amount of time to gain that health back by attacking. Quicksilver bullets can be found or purchased, but the ones you fuse from your own blood do more damage. I could write an essay on the combat alone, but I'll stop here.

Multiplayer: Summoning other players to die with you is great. Setting a summoning password making it easier to play with friends is fantastic. The problem is that ringing the summoning bell costs an insight point. When it's answered, and another player enters your world, it's worth it. When you spend a point and no one is summoned, it makes you never want to ring that bell again. Points are rewarded through various means, but they can be used for a purpose other than summoning. (I'm not going to spoil that)

Stability: I'm pretty far into the game and I have encountered only two bugs. I once got stuck in a cart mid roll and a I knocked a mini boss off of a tower and his items fell to an area I couldn't reach. Both of those bugs were fixed by exiting and reloading the game (the items were on the tower when I reloaded).

Story: From Software has a unique approach to story telling that some love and some hate. You start the game with very little information, but learn more as you progress through the game. The story is a mystery and is up to you to piece it together. To some this adds a sense of curiosity and discovery that makes exploration very engaging. To others they may feel like they're just mindlessly killing things for no reason.

    Cons:
*Starting with no real information makes stat allocation difficult. You don't really know if you'll want to focus on strength or dexterity (named skill in BB). You have no real idea what arcane is for and if you'll even enjoy the play-style it strengthens. My suggestion is putting points into vitality and endurance while you're figure that stuff out as you'll want health and stamina regardless of your build.

*I play online because I pity the fool who dares invade my game, but I wish I could turn off messages. Players being able to write messages on the ground warning or advising is a cool idea, but if there's a giant monster that's about to crash through the wall and try to put me in his belly I'd rather that be a surprise. Even if I don't read the messages, seeing 10 messages and 20 bloodstains (bloodstains allow you to see how another player died in that location) in one area is pretty telling.

*Summoning costing insight even if the summon doesn't work needs to be changed to costing a point only if someone is summoned.

*Because many items are hidden behind breakable objects, you'll find yourself rolling through everything breakable which breaks immersion a little bit.

Summary: In my opinion Bloodborne is the best game to release this console generation and deserves every bit of praise it has been receiving. While it's a smart move by Sony to keep this game exclusive, it's really too bad because this is such a unique masterpiece that should be enjoyed by everyone.

Advice: Do not read guides; this game is much more enjoyable going in blind.

Game is exclusive to PS4 and can barely handle 30 fps, it constantly chops into the low 20's. From a technical standpoint this is crap. Game is just like Dark Souls 2 which I love but there is no excuse especially for a game that requires you to be on your A game at all times.

Great game. Fantastic level design. Immersive dark gory world. Just as hard as the souls games, if not harder. It's rare to see such an underground, hard-core title get so much hype, but this definitely deserves it. The one glaring flaw is the painfully long load the screen that you have to suffer through every time you die, which is a lot. You die a lot in this game, but theGreat game. Fantastic level design. Not a big fan of the Soul series but i seem to love this game. Fights are smooth and connected. Level design is spot on. Weapons although not many, is fun and engaging. Storyline follows the footsteps of the Soul series, being vague, mysterious and dark.

Visually striking, nerve-shredding and a fascinating streamlining of the Souls formula. Bloodborne is an exclusive jewel in the PS4 crown and you need to own it. [June 2015, p71]
