    This is probably the best game on the market right now. I can't put it down. It's a great game with some absolutely beautiful graphics. All I can say is 10/10

    Goodness this game is on another level.. I am stoked that this game is so challenging, not everyday you get such a polished RPG and great value for money as well. I'd recommend it, even to casual gamers like myself.. If you are prepared to die non stop that is. Well Done to the Dev!! And to naysayers stop trolling plz, your annoying us fans..

    At least PS4 has a great exclusive game! I have been waiting for long to have this game, and I **** love it, thanks From Software, and thnaks Miyazaki for doing beautifuls games like this one.

    I was truly surprised by how good this game is, albeit, I was expecting a much lesser game. The game is beautiful and the gameplay is a welcomed change from other games in the Souls series. The only issue that I have is the framerate, but it seems that From is working on an update to help this.

    It does a lot of the things the SAME, but does a whole lot more BETTER.

    Rather than running around with your shield up, you can now dodge, backstep, and roll like never before. When you get hit it highlights a portion of your life - if you can hit the enemy you start gaining that life back and if you are quick enough you don't lose it. This turns your playstyle much more aggressive. When the next Souls game comes out it *will* change the way you play.

    The landscapes and graphics are mindblowingly beautiful. The soundtrack is amazing. I'm 16 hours in and have only been through 2 and 1/2 areas, having just taken down my third boss, and I'm a 600+ hour veteran from each of the DS games (about 1800 overall). It is brutally hard, but I've yet to want to stop. I can say this - the 3 boss fights I've had so far have been a thousand times better than any of the boss fights in the souls series. They are intense, they are brutal, and they are FUN. The third boss took me about 35 tries, and I really enjoyed each one and was a little sad I beat him. I want to progress, but that says something!

    I've never played DS/DS2. That said, this game has been absolutely phenomenal so far. It took me 3 hours to get out of the alley at the very start of the game. I had no idea how unforgiving these enemies would be. Typically spending that much time dying would warrant a ps4 controller lodged into my flat screen. Regardless of the deaths I can still not get enough of this game. This gameI've never played DS/DS2. That said, this game has been absolutely phenomenal so far.     This is a really contendant for GOTY, i never playes a souls game but im really into in this one, is just simply awesome talking about gamplay and dificulty that makes us play even if we die many times.

    Bloodborne is a beautiful game, the combat and bosses make for a truly epic experience. However, the atmosphere of Bloodborne is the pinnicle of what games should strive to achieve. It is creepy and dark, and places a sense of lonliness on the player as they make their way through the gothic city. This is truly a masterpiece.

    One false move and then you're most likely about to die or get seriously injured. The combat is brutal and quick, like you won't be seeing a beast waiting in line for his turn to attack, they're all going to strike! The penalty for dying is that you would lose all of your blood echoes, which is like currency that you use to buy equipment or to level up. The only way to retrieve it back is to journey back to where you last died or kill the beast that had killed you or the one that has his or her eyes glowing white for you're blood back, but if you die a 2nd time without getting it then you had just lost it, but can still retrieve the amount that you last had.

    The only issues that I have seen were monsters glitching themselves in obstacles, nothing to game breaking. Anything else would be at your own fault..

    If you're a hardcore gamer looking for a game on the Ps4, then I would highly recommend for you to play Bloodborne!    … Expand

This is odd to me because that is one of the things that make this game unique is that it prides itself on being hard. There is no easy mode and it shouldn't have to have one. I do not play Madden and complain I cannot slam dunk, its not NBA2K. Both sport games but both very different. Fun mechanics, clever and difficult layouts to levels, fun note system (yes from Dark Souls I know), and difficult. This game is for people who want a challenge. If you want easy to learn hard to master go play Devil May Cry, COD, or any sports game, because this game is probably not for you, but do not buy this game and play it for a few hours, get pissed and give it a bad review because it was "Hard". My only wish is that the game continues to get harder and more challenging than it already has been 30 hours in. To me, it's difficulty is what makes it so very memorable. After beating the first boss, I could clearly draw you a map of the areas I went to leading up to boss, and exactly where and what creatures spawned in the area, not because the graphics were the coolest thing ever, because I died so many freaking times I learned from my mistakes and got further and further on each attempt. In short this game will be a love hate, either you will love and embrace the difficulty to the game or you will hate it.     The difficulty of the game is very high. Not recommended for initial and casual gamers .
    Veterans and old school players will love it.

    Load times are what really chap my butt. After playing every souls game, this is the worst load times by far. It's also a bit too easy for me. Not a 9/10, but a solid 6/10

    Awesome game, graphics are spectacular music is atmospheric. Brutally difficult with intricate level designs. Load times take nearly 20 seconds, which isn't terrible, co-op is tricky to get working. All in all, this is an amazing game that will contend for GoTY.

    I'm not far into the game yet but I can already tell it will at least be an equal to the rest of the Souls. Just a few hrs. in and already my heart has nearly burst with adrenaline a dozen times. No games can do this quite like the Souls games. Long live From Software.

    Great game, really enjoying it so far! It has some elements that souls players have come to love but I find it a little more foregiving for new players (lots of blood vials left on enemies for instance) and with the addition of health regeneration per hit.

    Bloodborne is an AMAZING successor to the 'Souls' series. Building on what makes the SOULS series great, Bloodborne expands it's machanics, gameplay, atmosphere, and story to deliver a great experience! Bloodborne will feel familiar to any fan of the SOULS series, and offer a true "next gen" experience. If you played the game for more than 30 minutes, you'd know that the weapon system, enemy AI, graphics, story, writing, and overall polish of the game has been improved upon from the previous titles. It's worth noting that I have encountered exactly ZERO bugs or glitches in this title so far.

    If you're a true fan of ANY of the games in the SOULS series, you will not be disappointing with this game. If you're a newcomer, be prepared for a challenge and realize that, that's a good thing. Don't get discouraged, and step up to the plate.     It's just another dark souls game with better graphics. Sony pay reviewers for these high marks? I doubt it but makes me question these critics on a whole new level. Other people's opinions and humans are bias.

    This game is for people who enjoy challenges. This is not a title you can pick up and roll through with your eyes closed. You will sweat, you will cuss, and you will hate this game until you finally beat the part you've been stuck on for hours. When you finally do there is not another game that can match the sense of accomplishment and joy of getting over that hurtle.

    The graphics are great. They are not shiny and polished, which for some reason are the only style a lot of people consider "good". It's murky, gothic, and extremely detailed. The sounds and visuals keep you guessing to what may be around the corner. The graphics do a great job of creating a unique atmosphere which this world resides.

    As far as story goes, Fromsoft does things differently than other developers. You are given a small taste of what is going on in the short intro, then it is up to you to search around and discover everything else. If you mash through it only to try and get to the end expecting it all to be explained then, you will be disappointed. This game may only be 40 hours long if you rush it, however if you search around every nook and cranny to discover what is really going on, along with some great hidden treasure and bosses, only then will you have truly completed this game.

    The barrier of entry is high as it always has been with this series. You are given a brief over view of controls and that's it. Nothing else is handed to you. You must discover everything on your own. While it's easy to look online to have other people tell you what to do, that method ruins what the game is about. While choosing this method will make the game much easier it also drains a lot of what makes his game fun.... Mystery.

    Co-op is not made easy either. You have a limited item that allows you to call for help. There is a reason for this. This game is balanced around you vs the world. When you get stuck it allows for you to get help and it makes beating a boss SO much easier. This is why when that boss is beaten your co-op partner is returned to their own world. When I say limited, you can easily call on a friend to help you with every single boss if you wanted to, but the items you get to do this are very rare early on.

    This game has a few flaws, but for being the day after release this game is light years beyond how games are normally released ( barely functional, riddled with bugs, takes 3-4 patches to get the games running smoothly ). I've experienced a handful of frame rate drops that were never in high tense moments. I had a aggressive NPC bug out on a ladder. Other than that this game functions exceptionally well.

    So if you own a ps4, you enjoy a good challenge, and you don't like your hand being held in games then this is worth your time.    … Expand

    I'll start off by saying I've never played a souls game before. I started by underestimating the game thinking: ''Hey it cannot be THAT hard''. I was really wrong. I died numerous times but you really feel like you get better every time and that's mainly what brings me back to the game even though I did rage quit a couple of times.

    Game is beautiful, hard and fun.

    I´ve been playing games since the Atari era, and played through all the generations, but this is my first review in here. This game combines perfectly two of the best games I´ve ever played: Demon´s Souls (obvious) and Castlevia: Sotn. Yes, it is that good, and it´s as addictive as Dark Souls 1, you just can´t spot thinking of the game when you´re not playing it. An easy 10/10

    If you have been on the fence about getting a PlayStation 4, now you have a reason. I never though have it handed to me time and time again would be so fun. Once you learn the combat mechanics you will not be able to put this game down.

    The first real, serious, "you must play this game" on a next-gen console (when do we start calling this current-gen?). Sure, there have been plenty of worthwhile games so far, but this one is one of those rare, not-to-be-missed titles along the lines of Bioshock Infinite, The Last of Us, etc. Do not miss this game.

    I've only just started playing this game, and I'm so-so impressed. Having not played the Dark Souls series, I'm new to them and have found this instantly challenging

    However - I'm rating this 10 to boost its overall rating against the idiots that come on metacritic and rate ZERO for a AAA title, most of whom have not reviewed any other games, or have evidentially a Wii and Xbox    I've only just started playing this game, and I'm so-so impressed.     I was gutted to see Evolve so badly rated by reviewers on here giving ZERO. No game that gives you at least 40hrs game play (£1 an hour is reasonable) a zero. These idiots need looking into, or at very least people over-rating to compensate their stupidity - but ultimately this ruins reviews for everyone.

    but if you can pull through you will really enjoy this.

    This is an amazing game that will draw you into it's eerie world and not let go. It is extremely challenging and will require your complete focus for even the simplest of foes. The imagery and soundtrack do great job setting the atmosphere. You won't be disappointed with this game.

Key word there is 'inspired' - this isn't a carbon copy Souls experience, as it has a life and character of its' own.

    It's graphically above average, but not next gen mind-blowing stuff - but it's the art style that impresses, and that's more important than graphical fidelity. It has a few minor hiccups in frame rate, but they are sporadic.

    And in terms of issues with the game, that's it. Everything else is more or less flawless.

    I am LOVING this game so far!! 12 hours of gameplay in and 3 bosses down =) this game is pretty difficult, but very rewarding! The guns are amazing, balanced, and not too hard to upgrade.     Extreme overyhype. Graphics engine is hardly improved since Dark Souls. Mechanics are not improved since Dark Souls, they are the same. And of course, the first monster you meet is unkillable without dying first and gaining who knows what esoteric knowledge to beat it. Typical FROM. I liked them better when they were making games like Enchanted Arms.

    This game is a true masterpiece. I am a die hard fan of the souls series been playing it since 2009 Demons Souls, and this is truly Demons Souls caliber of difficulty.
    Love it and would recommend to all, the load times arent that bad, 10seconds for my brother on his PS4 (SSHD 1TB) and my PS4 6seconds on SSD 1TB.
    So just upgrade your hard drive and stop crying ya.

    This is my ideal succesor of the soul game. The immersion really great, the control really responsive, the multiplayer fun and exciting. Eventhough it coined as successor of soul series, the gameplay style itself feel really fresh. Being an agresive player is more rewarded.

Bloodborne does have its strengths but it fails to be a game offering the full package presented in a no fuss and accessible way.
    Bloodborne has some of the most imaginative characters,environments and enemies seen in a video game and has next gen graphics features such as reflective surfaces,more particle effects and higher overall polygon count which do these aspects some justice. However this does not look like a true next gen game but a PS3 game with some next gen features slapped on which does look good but nothing spectacular and no graphical show-piece for the PS4.
    As far as the combat goes its rather wooden, you have to time your slashes and gunshots, and it all feels rather dated, it feels like a step backwards when compared to the destructive ballet found in god of war's combat. With practice it does get better but the whole process felt like a chore right from the very beginning, the saying ''easy to learn but hard to master'' is not in from softwares vocabulary.
    The whole premise of the game somewhat mirrors the combat in the sense of how tedious it can be, you have these interesting looking environments with enemies that all feel the same minus the bosses, after a few hours with this game you feel like you have taken in all it has to offer.
    So to sum up this review basically bloodborne is a game that feels that it started life last gen with poor combat,animation, frame rate and pacing issues and overall a very tedious game. After watching and reading other reviews they really cant take there own biased opinion out of it and really think how the rest of the gaming landscape is and how niche this style of game is. Bloodborne is a niche game like demon and dark souls before it and it seems the majority of reviewers are part of this niche which is not a true representation on the quality of this game.

    If you like demon or dark souls you will probably like this to, if you like games like GTA,COD,SPORTS, AND EVEN FALLOUT I doubt this game will appeal to you    … Expand

    This game is amazing, great atmosphere and mechanics. Haven't had this much fun with an rpg since Oblivion. The high difficulty is very noticeable right from the start, this game is brutal and it won't hold back. The sense of accomplishment is greater than anything i've played since the souls series.

    This is, to make it short, Souls perfected. The graphics and music is amazing and creates the most immersive atmosphere I've ever experienced in a videogame. The gameplay is the same as the Souls games, but more refined. It's simpler in many ways. They really managed to trim of the fat without losing the important parts, as well as adding some nice features that I won't spoil. As for theThis is, to make it short, Souls perfected.     It's a good kind of frustration, knowing that each enemy can be your death. I have spent the last 13 hours trying to progress further into the beast infested town. Heartache and gratification is all I feel while playing in this awesome world! This is my first game by from software and I will never let it go. Deserves to be a game of the year contender for 2015.

    Pros: Game play is superb, difficulty is masterable, and soundtrack is stunningly crisp and filled with excitement!

    Cons: Collision physics sometimes trap you in weird spots, but a game exit thru the menu and reload fix it. After entering old yarnham sometimes the game will studder briefly, sound scratches and a frame or two skip is all.    … Expand

    From someone who has had no experience with the Souls games, or fighting/RPG games for that matter, this game is truly incredible. I've never enjoyed a game that I sucked at as much as I am enjoying Bloodborne. The gameplay is truly innovative (to me at least since I have not had these previous experiences) and the graphics and atmosphere make the game super immerse. GOTY contender,From someone who has had no experience with the Souls games, or fighting/RPG games for that matter, this game is truly incredible.     This is a really well done game! The world is incredibly intriguing, the combat is solid, and the sound effects are strong! Not only that, but the game is quite the challenge and really gives a run for your money in terms of skill. Though, there are issues of a not always stable frame rate during intense moments, at times wonky camera, and load times that are not so great (Though, it'sThis is a really well done game!     Gameplay was improved, the game looks gorgeous, the difficulty which is Souls' trademark is still there and to be quite honest so far it's been harder than any other Souls' game I've played. This game is this generation's masterpiece so    I just made an account just to let people know that this game is the best Souls' game so far.

    This game is bloody awesome.Its a lot better than i thought it would be.It has good weapons and combat, epic classes and a draw dropping world to explore.It is a must buy to anyone who owns a PS4

    I really enjoyed the game. Artwork. Thank you for the excellent work and dedication to this game so wonderful and beautiful. Well done Sony. I'm cheering when that Unchart 4 among other much better. Even The 1866 order not pleasing to many, I liked it.

    Coming demon souls, dark souls 1 and 2, it's just a fun experience!!! Would recommend it to everyone that like this genre. I just like the graphics and the gameplay that much. I'm sure I play it for more than 50 hours like I did for the other souls games.

    Best game on current gen systems so far. From software in partnership with Sony Japan Studios have once again delivered a great experience like never seen since Demon´s Souls.

    This game has amazing graphics,it is a beautiful game,coming by From Software.This game has new weapons,new town,called the ancient Yharnam town and the gameplay and the mechanics of this game are extremely amazing.It is the best exclusive ps4 game.Congratulation to From Software for their amazing job.

    As I said there are many but one of the most prevailing and annoying is that it feels like you are playing a lazy copy-paste of Dark Souls.
