The only reason this game is so well received is the current lack of new games in general. Gameplay resembles Odyssey but loot and ability systems are dumbed down. Theres a lot of gameplay without any innovation. It will bore you down after 1/3 of campaign (approx 20 in game hours).

If you're looking out for something to kill time, this one is for you, but you won't find anything

Very brutal and bloody game, specially for Assassin's Creed game. This is some next level stuff. Don't get me wrong, Unity was brutal and bloody too, but one is even more. Not that i care that much, but it's cool that fighting feels more brutal again, Odyssey felt a bit cartoony.

I'm also happy that one-shot assassination is back, something that should have always been there, i have no idea why it was even taken out, it makes no sense. Anyway it's back and works just like in older games. Map is huge, specially England, Norway is big enough too. Everything is not absolutely perfect obviously, but i wasn't expecting it to be, specially in year like 2020. What i mean by that, some bugs. But overall it's very good AC game. Here's a question for everyone who give score between 0 and 3, are you banned from youtube? Is it so difficult to watch some gameplay, before you buy it? I actually strongly doubt they even have it.

There really haven't been epic open world games like this in 2020, so now i have something to play until 2020 ends. Other than some bugs (not a lot), it's been nice.

So far everything is like promised, you can raid, you can go in stealth, you can wear hood, you have hidden blade, story is solid, i'm enjoying it.

For me the game is simply in the middle between bad and good. For every aspect that I like there is something I don‘t like. Also there is nothing that‘s extremily bad or good. So a solit 5/10. If it on sale i would buy it. Have a good day :)

It's absolute shame that everyone can just make account on this site and spread misinformation, lies and hate without buying / playing the game. Steam is so much better in that regard and Steam user scores (while not perfect either) are way more accurate.
For example Far Cry 5 has very low user score on metacritic based on 1700 reviews, while literally same game on steam has over 67 000

For example Far Cry 5 has very low user score on metacritic based on 1700 reviews, while literally same game on steam has over 67 000 reviews and 76% of them are positive. That just shows that random bots can't make accounts on steam and write fake reviews, but on this site, they can and they always have. This 6.8 score in reality should be more like 7.6-8.1 but thanks to bots who give this game endless 0's, this score is lower. This usually only happens with extremely popular games and Assassin's Creed Valhalla indeed is extremely popular game. Another good comparison is RDR2 PC version score here and on steam, night and day difference and there's so many more like that.

Been Ubisoft fan since 2006 when they released "Heroes of Might and Magic V", they have had hits and misses over the years, but overall very consistent company. Graphically they have always stood out, good examples from their early days would be "Cold Fear" (2005), Heroes of Might and Magic V" (2006) and "Lost: Via Domus" (2008). While i agree that they got really lazy in 2019 and i'm notBeen Ubisoft fan since 2006 when they released "Heroes of Might and Magic V", they have had hits and misses over the years, but overall very consistent company. Very fun game. I tried Odyssey before, but leveling took way too long and it just didn't click with me, but Valhalla is different and better. Leveling is actually fast, you get 2 skill points instead of 1 and you get them very often so you can build your power level rather quickly. Nothing stops you moving on with story anymore. World is also designed better than Odyssey.

Game is unfinished and has multiple bugs. Got 10 hours into the game and now all my data is corrupted. Ubisoft released a work around for the corrupted data that doesn't even work. Now I have a new game I can't even play.

Lacks creativity, Ubisoft killed the franchise.
The missions are not much intresting ,the combat is quite similar, matter of fact previous ac combat was fun felt like we are a trained Assassin.
    The charm is lost.

One word - WEAK. Weak characters, weak combat mechanics, weak story, weak plot, weak weapon variety, weak voiceovers and weak game-play - plus incredibly BUGGY. Weakest AOC to date. I wouldn't even recommend to buy half price. I give it 4 points for the graphics and music but this should be given for today's standards.

It has the potential to be a fantastic title, but with the PS4 build currently riddled with bugs that soft lock players into not being able to continue the main story. I cannot reccomend this Assassin's Creed currently.

Don’t let any of the critics fool you, this is just another bloated boring assassins creed game that feels incredibly half baked yet again. Ubisoft is lazy and it shows. I highly recommend you watch SkillUp’s YouTube review if you are even considering this game.

I'm usually critical with games, specially new ones, but i can't think of anything from AC Valhalla that stood out to me as "horrible or extremely bad". I actually have so much fun with it. There's always something to do or somewhere to go and i love it. I bet people who want games to over quickly will hate that, but they should already know what assassin's creed it. Digging this game's tone way more than i did with Odyssey. Odyssey was little bit too similar in all places. Everything was bright and colorful. Valhalla is very different in that regard. It has so many different areas and layers, nothing feels same. Even Norway and England look very different, but England in itself has very different looking areas. Game is good so far.

Classic AC elements like hidden blade / Hood are back and i'm very happy for that, finally.
Story is from average to actually pretty good. Depends on what quests you do and what choices you make. There's lots of different weapons and hoods.

There are far fewer cookie-cutter outposts than in previous AC’s, and most sidequests now offer an interesting story, sometimes even with a less-than-obvious solution. While some anti-grind measures have backfired, Ubisoft is on the right track. [Issue#250, page 56]

Assassins Creed Valhalla is a wonderful addition to the AC franchise. It manages to avoid the tropes that became overplayed and focuses on a small well structured story. The fighting mechanics are enjoyable and offer many choices to fit different playing styles. There are a significant amount of bugs and the AI is underwhelming at times. But it's still another step in the right direction for Ubisoft.

When Valhalla is at its best, it evolves series mechanics. And when you’re cruising down river, about to blow your raiding horn, there’s nothing quite like it. [Issue#183, p.71]
