    Much worse than previous game, boring world, boring story, boring visuals(forest,swmps,fields).

    Just go and play Odyssey, it is so much better in every way possible.

    Questing and map is done far worse than in previous assassins creed games. Story is boring, the only fun after 10 hours of playing was first introduction cinematic, the further in the game the worse. Odyssey was doing everything better. I like vikings but this one is not so good... I lost my money, gonna sell this game, dont even wanna finish main story.

    Ubisoft, Ubisoft never changes. I gate that level of hypocrisy, when they release the game without all additional payments, and later add it, after all reviews, metascores and game awards are finished..

    Honestly it looks and plays great my only complaint is the Uplay + option for some reason all games on this platform close after 20 mins of play on the dot. Submitted a support ticket and got a automated response 5 days later. This was first happening on Watch Dog Legions and now this game.     I started playing AC Valhalla on the launch day despite me knowing that Ubisoft hasn't released a bug free game in years.
    I played the main story until you could free roam and that I did. I finished most of the side quests and collectibles in the first area and then I went to progress in the main story. I couldn't progress in the main story it is bugged.     As for the gameplay:
    They removed quality of life things like filtering of photos on the world map. I don't want my world map to be cluttered with pictures I haven't looked at.
    The second thing that they negatively changed is the duration of the enemy highlighting after using eagle sense. Previously the enemies were highlighted until you left the area, but now you have to use eagle sense every 30 seconds and they made it a skill to "highlight all nearby enemies when you are crouched and undetected". I guess they ran out of skills and just said: "Let's take away a skill they had forever and give it back, but this time make it so that they have to spend skill points"
    You don't the full skill tree, but only parts that you are adjacent to, so you can't plan your character development ahead , which is for me one the stupidest things they could have done in an action RPG game.

    The free climbing mechanics are still wonky as they ever have been.
    The sounds seems to be off sometimes. I played the female, but it felt like the soundfiles for the male character were played instead of the female.

I love assassin's creed but a reskin would have been better than a broken combat system. It's like for honor the game you suffer from and ai that penalizes you for ubisheet at its finest. 60 was a highway robbery.

Once you hit all but one loot cache you get a one shot and loose your progress. That's fine right except when you glitch in close quarter combat. Patches should not constitute for ubisoft lack of effort. Patches are meant to fix parts not an entire wwe2k20 glitches. Shame on you ubisoft you failed this time. Good thing it's is free for ps5 if you own it on 4. Sarcastic this should make whoever approved the release to have 7 years of diarrhea with no toilet paper.    … Expand

The parkour feels clunky and the horse and boat travel is frustrating as hell. Absolutely riddled with bugs (quests disappearing until restart, graphical glitches, game crashes.) The gear system was unrewarding in that you're almost forced to commit to one armor set for the entire game and punished heavily for wanting to use new weapons or armor. Not worth buying, and at the very least wait for the DLC and more stability patches.… Expand

    Call this anything but a game. A good game at it's core, should have you not wanting to put the control down -- have you canceling plans so that you can stay in and eagerly lose track of time. There is NO game play here. All the focus is in creating some half ass movie. If you can press B to skip, then your game isn't worthy to begin with. Let that set in developer.

    - There isn't any real gameplay here; it's like a two year old board game, except checkers is more fun
    - The challenges are tedious and BORING and just a worthless grind
    - The fighting is awkward
    - There are glitches galore
    - The Parkour is like slow mountain climbing

    I am a four days into playing and going to put it on Ebay. So glad I got the CD version of this so that I can sell it. Let's see what Cyberpunk brings to the table.

There are constant game breaking bugs and I have been stuck, unable to continue the main story quests since right after launch. Recent patch had no fix. At this point, I give up. What a waste of money. Not buying another Ubisoft game for a loooooong time.     It's a good looking game, however it has nothing to do with Assassin's Creed. It's main focus is on farming. Poor stealth system. A point for a nice graphics and soundtrack.

Ubisoft has given itself and all the gamers out there a major shot in the foot with this one. They have unsuccessfully tried to bring to the AC world things that worked brilliantly in other titles (such as the fishing and hunting missions, so good at RDR2, but soI went through the trouble of creating an account at Metacritic, just so I could leave this review, that's how bad this game is. Ubisoft has given itself and all the gamers out there a major shot in the foot with this one. They have unsuccessfully tried to bring to the AC world things that worked brilliantly in other titles (such as the fishing and hunting missions, so good at RDR2, but so terrible here). The open world is probably one of the worst I have seen in any AC game before, the new combat mode is too bad to put into words, and the story is dull and unoriginal to say the least. But to top it all off, it's possibly one of the worst games I have ever played when it comes to bugs. It is so very bad, that at this point I am not even able to go through with the story because there was a major issue with the latest patch released for the game, where you are unable to advance in the story from the moment you start the mission "A Seer's Solace". Starting this mission will mean that your game will stop working, as the so-very-terrible-to-begin-with open world becomes even worst (it turns into raw unfinished shapes), and the character simply starts falling from the map, not giving out any possibility to keep playing. For the lucky ones who purchased a physical version, I heard it is possible to reinstall, and not updating to the latest patch seems to be a poor man's workaround for the issue, but for the unlucky ones like me who have purchased the digital version, there is no way at all to keep playing. I never thought in my wildest dreams that Ubisoft would be able to screw up this bad. I used to be a fan of the AC franchise, but this game seems to have managed to completely ruin it for me. I don't think I'll ever buy another AC game, and I am avidly expecting that Sony reimburses me for this absolutely terrible purchase, as I don't believe there are enough patches in the world that will be able to salvage it.… Expand

    After playing for i encountered multiple bugs that made the game unplayable. Still waiting on ubisoft to release a patch to fix it. Reported the bug over a month ago and I still cannot play the game.

    I don't care how good of a game you make. When you introduce minigames where you stack rocks for 3 hours & relies on pixel perfect placement of 3D objects, you've made a bad game.

    This would be a good game without the game breaking bugs. This game keeps crashing all the time. Sometimes I can play an hour without crashing and sometimes few minutes. But everytime I play it crashes at some point.

Quests are buggy, only when to unstuck is to reset the game. I am very serious. This has countless bugs. I encounter more than one every time that I play. I have been so disappointed by this game that I am seriously thinking to stop buying AC again. IThis is probably the worst AC game after Unity. The bugs are countless.     Barely had anything to do with assassins. So if you're looking for an assassins creed game? You might as well just play the previous titles (excluding Odyssey)

    Its incredibly bloated and by the third or even by the second act you just want it to end. Stealth is pretty much not an option, ever, since enemies can spot you with their backs turned from a mile away.

    Odyssey was good and you can learn about history about greek and Sparta. But Valhalla about Viking?
    I have no idea why they choose Viking and there is nothing to learn. Extremely boring is Bonus~~~~

    The only good thing another this game is the that the combat is marginally better than odyssey. Apart from that the world is empty and bland. The main story quests are repetitive and boring. The hidden ones/Assassins are hardly in the story. Also the fantasy elements have no place in a series based on some level of believability.

    Queria falar que como fã da saga Assassins Creed estou muito decepcionado com a Ubisoft, por levar uma saga que começou como um jogo de 3º pessoa AAA, num RPG genérico, eu gosto de RPG porém uma coisa não tem nada haver com outra, quando comprei o Valhala, praticamente foi uma copia do Origins e o Odyssea, jogo com gráfico ruim (joguei no ps4 slim), a jogabilidade a mesma coisa que osQueria falar que como fã da saga Assassins Creed estou muito decepcionado com a Ubisoft, por levar uma saga que começou como um jogo de 3º pessoa AAA, num RPG genérico, eu gosto de RPG porém uma coisa não tem nada haver com outra, quando comprei o Valhala, praticamente foi uma copia do Origins e o Odyssea, jogo com gráfico ruim (joguei no ps4 slim), a jogabilidade a mesma coisa que os outros dois passados, modo de escalar paredes muito genérico também, modo de furtividade que era uma referência no jogo também não existe mais como antes. E além da jogabilidade que me chamava atenção na saga, era o enredo também, ate que a história é boa, porém poderia ser melhor, parece que a empresa está mais focada em fazer genéricos e ganhar dinheiro de modo rápido e fácil do que a focar e fazer obras primas que nem era a Triologia Ezio Auditore foi, o Unity também ficou perfeito aquele jogo, única coisa que comprometeu o jogo foi a quantidade de bug que teve, porém foram corrigidos com um tempo e hoje em dia o jogo está jogável, e considero um dos melhores também, sem falar no modo combate do jogo também, era legal ver os movimentos de revidar, aquilo valorizava muito o jogo, e oque colocaram novamente nesse jogo foi o bloqueio e logo em seguida atacar novamente, algo que todo fã também sabe do que estou falando. Em fim, quem era fã da saga desde a saga do Altair, acho que entende meu ponto de vista e sabe como a saga tinha que continuar tomando seu rumo. A empresa realmente poderia parar de ser mercenária e voltar o legado da franquia.… Expand

In almost every way Valhalla is a paired down version of the previous entry and the assassin part of the game is almost an afterthought at this point. Ghosts of Tsushima really set the bar higher for this genre recently and in comparisons ubisoft's new entry feels like a poorI'm about halfway through but already the game feels unpolished despite the visuals being the usual from ubisoft. In almost every way Valhalla is a paired down version of the previous entry and the assassin part of the game is almost an afterthought at this point. Ghosts of Tsushima really set the bar higher for this genre recently and in comparisons ubisoft's new entry feels like a poor man's version of what suckerpunch managed to craft.

    It's a shame too because the setting was ripe for something new... and all those claiming it takes fresh new directions must be smoking some good **** because AC Valhalla is about as generic as it gets.    … Expand

At this point, playing Valhalla is like beating my head against a wall. A way to pass the time yet utterly pointless and incredibly boring. The story has taken a turn into the realm of, “I don’t care about any of these people, why am I stillAt 100 hours in, I’m done. I can’t play this anymore. The first and only reason it held me this long is for my love of Norse history and mythology. At this point, playing Valhalla is like beating my head against a wall.     Many faults. No internet connection. No hot fixes. Broken NPCs that do not allow the storyline to pass. Inability to cancel the quest! And this is in the game in the 21st century! Greatest hack on the part of a developer. Odyssey is a million times better than this squalor.

    Avoid this game like the plauge, stick with Odyssey where they don't try to force microtransactions on you at every turn and you can get a tonne of awesome gear just by looting treasure chests and doing quests . You can't even change your look without paying in Valhalla, what a joke

    With all the microtransactions this should be a free to play game. I knew far cry new dawn was a sign of more microtransactions being forced (if you want to enjoy the game) instead of optional

    Ubisoft game now just seem to create problems that can be solved only using microtransactions so they can go to hell. Far Cry, Assassin's Creed and Watchdogs were my favourite game series and I am not interested in buying or playing any of their new games now. Now the ubisoft customer is just a whale to them or they don't want you as a customer if all you give them is $99 for the base game. $99 is not enough for Ubisoft, they want more and more    … Expand

    There was so much potential for this game. The graphics are excellent but sadly there is nothing of substance in the gameplay. Combat is repetitive(button mash) and the story is repetitive(befriend clans and raid with them). In a viking game, there is nearly no loot when all vikings did was loot. There is also no stealth opportunities whatsoever. Assassinating is completely gone from the game.

    I dont know why its called Assassin's Creed at this point. Every aspect of a true AC js Just an afterthought. The Parkour is generic at best. The facial animations are really not up to date. For an AC game I have never seen a game focusing on Open-combat so much. You are literally playing a Warrior. Remember, this is called Assassin's Creed. Of course IT should be reviewed that way.

If you want good viking stories just go finish all the Skellige side quest inthe Witcher 3.     The zero rating is to counter the exaggerated/fake 10s. A mediocre overall game, repetitive, bad acting, uninteresting story+characters, decent world to explore. I give it 5/10

    The worst game of Ubisoft {Bugysoft} The game is simply AC Origins version 3.0 However, it has lots bug which makes it TRASH. They’re releasing the game even without checking it, I simply hated it and I hate Ubisoft too. Ubisoft and Valhalla are TRASH< TRASH TRASH!!!

    this is the worst assassins creed i've ever played, this saga is getting more boring by every game they drop, you can't play it more than 2 hours after you get bored, the graphics are disapointing and the story is the worst of everything

    I can't understand why include all Asia players in Japanese censorship.
    Players in Taiwan need the version without censoring.

    The graphics in PS4 are so bad comparing to the previous AC games, especially Origins and Odyssey. Also the new weapons and gears system is so rigid and badly designed that it makes the looting so boring

    Assassins Creed Valhalla is a wonderful addition to the AC franchise. It manages to avoid the tropes that became overplayed and focuses on a small well structured story. The fighting mechanics are enjoyable and offer many choices to fit different playing styles. There are a significant amount of bugs and the AI is underwhelming at times. But it's still another step in the right direction for Ubisoft.
