Polished turd. I'll give it a few points just because the artwork is great. I loved AC:Black Flag, but this game is a total wreck. There are a lot of glitches that need to be patched, but I don't imagine there is any patch for the dull gameplay.

Combat and parkour have been improved dramatically to look very clean, but since we are dealing with AC, there can be issues at times. My favorite part about the melee is how challenging it is. I can say that about a lot of the new mechanics with this game. So overall, this defintely deserved higher scores by the audience. The issues really aren't all that surprising knowing Ubisoft but it is still a bit annoying with 4 years of developing this game. So from me: 9/10 Expand

I don't get all of the hate this game is receiving. There are some sporadic framerate issues. I experienced most of them near the beginning of the game and haven't had a problem since. Not even in a late game mission where they was probably a good 1000 NPCs on the screen at the same time.

I don't get all of the hate this game is receiving. There are some sporadic framerate issues. I experienced most of them near the beginning of the game and haven't had a problem since. Not even in a late game mission where they was probably a good 1000 NPCs on the screen at the same time.

I also hear a lot about Arno being dull. I like Arno. He's basically Ezio. Yet Ezio was considered not dull and in fact most peoples favourite assassin. That right there is a contradiction. You like Ezio but hate Arno even though they have the same personality? Because that makes sense.

I also hear about the story being dull. It's one of the best stories an Assassin's Creed game has put together. I feel like Arno has a place in the plot and isn't just the player's surrogate being funnelled from one historic event or person to the next in Ubisoft's attempt to say "LOOK AT HOW MUCH HISTORY RESEARCH WE DID!!!"

Character customization is great. Arno feels more like your Assassin than any Assassin before him. You can actually customize him to fit your playstyle. It's great.

Did I mention that there's a sneak button now? That's right. You can press a button and sneak. No more walking around the open without a care in the world and hoping no one spots you. You can now crouch and walk quieter and even take cover behind low objects.

People say co op is dull. I played co op for about four hours straight with my friends. We only did two or three missions. The rest of the time was spent exploring Paris and helping each other find out how to get collectibles. Probably the most fun I've had playing co op in awhile.

The game is great. People need to pull their heads out of their asses and learn to actually appreciate good games like these. Sure it has some rough spots. But pretty much every major video game release does these days. Should this be acceptable? No. But it's not like this game is as badly put together as Battlefield 4. And it has about 100 times the content of Destiny.

And oh yes. A legitimate epic boss fight. Something the franchise has been missing since the beginning.

People saying this is the worst Assassin's Creed since AC1 should probably just stop playing the Assassin's Creed games. Because this is, in my opinion, the best Assassin's Creed since AC2.

    tl;dr

Graphics, gameplay, co-op, story, customization are great. Has some rough spots that can be patched out. Don't believe the haters that need every game to be a masterpiece to enjoy it.

As a huge fan of the Assassin's Creed series, especially Black Flag I was expecting so much from this game. Wow...I was disappointed. Ubisoft has managed to mangle everything that was good about this series, and essentially cripple it. Where to begin:

    1. Ubisoft has taken many things away that were fun in previous iterations, most notably: naval combat, recruiting new assassins for the brotherhood and using them while on missions, and they completely got rid of guilds.

    2. Putting assassin skills behind a "pay wall." Who thought this was a good idea? In previous iterations, you essentially earned all your skills naturally through progression. Now you have to pay in game "creed points" to purchase things that you used to have automatically: double assassinations, ability to use ranged weapons, etc. Dumb.

    3. Horrible Control Issues. Somehow they managed to make combat and the parkour WORSE. Arno has a tendency to stick to everything, and not perform jumps properly. Compound this with the new mechanic they added to enter windows which doesn't work 90% of the time. Combat has been saddled with poor balancing. Now, instead of feeling like a dangerous assassin, you feel like target practice.

    4. Too many people on the streets. Look, I get it. You wanted to showcase the power of these systems by dumping a ton of "unique" npcs in the world. The problem is that it's a nightmare now navigating through the streets. When Arno isn't busy bumbling his way up walls and sticking to lampposts and scaffolding, he's tripping over the thousands of inhabitants of Paris. Dial it back a bit, please.

    5. Companion App CHests. Why in the heck am I expected to play a companion app to unlock things in a game I ALREADY PAID $60 FOR?

    6. MICROTRANSACTIONS - Are you serious? I'd like to find the suit that wanted this added and punch him squarely in the balls. This does not belong anywhere, much less a "Triple A" title.

    7. Technical Issues - Those graphics are beautiful...once the textures all pop-in. Oh, and the framerate is downright atrocious. Also, if you're able to connect to Ubi's servers for co-op, the lag is so bad it's almost unplayable.

    8. Boring story and characters. Arno is no Ezio or even Edward. While he's better than connor, he's still pretty bland, as are the other characters in the game. The story is the uninspired and derivative.

The bottom line here is, don't buy this game. It is not worth the money. I wouldn't even waste my time on it if it was a PS Plus Free Game. Ubisoft needs to stop trying to crap out one(now two) of these games a year. The result of their greed is this mess we got stuck with.

Assassin's Creed Unity is definitely a great game, but the bugs ruined my experience. I played the game a few hours straight, and I was finally able to play Co-Op. I can't imagine that the conversation in the office went like this:

The integration with the app is a model of perfection. Can't wait to see what the fans think. I'm really excited about it. Because

Because Unity is far from perfect, and it offers very little that is new. Having said that I like it and I haven't experienced any thing like the problems that people are moaning about. You'd think that the future of world peace was dependent on this game's release.

    Stuttering - not encountered any.
Weird combat - it's the same as it's ever been - you might have to press different buttons to do different things but hey it's a game!
Face disappearing - not yet but looking forward to this Hammer Horror moment.
Falling through the world - not encountered this.
Low frame rate - not experienced this - and big deal - I couldn't tell what frame rate this game is running at with my naked eyes. It's a pretty environment and it lives in a convincing way.
Crowd scenes - great. No problems.
Co-op play - done a bit. Not really interested in it in the long run but I haven't had any problems.
Connection to Uplay - working fine. Occassionally drops out but my world hasn't ended as a consequence.

On the whole it's a good game. Not great. Not groundbreaking. But this is Assassins Creed. How many times can you keep rehashing the same consipracy theory plot without it starting to become a bit tired. Maybe Ubisoft need to put this one to bed and do something a bit more original. Now there's a thought.

The fps dips hard and even at the maximum of 30fps it feels very sluggish. The scifi setup is stupid and ruins the immersion often, Movement glitches make sneaking almost impossible. Everybody has British accent in France, NPCs run against walls, glide everywhere and warp stupidly on objects. 1 point for trying to make co-op.

A lot of talk about combat being harder is not really true for me.. Its still the basic 'parry-counterattack'-dance , only the timing is more strict. Camera-angles are sometimes ridiculously bad , resulting in having enemies engage you from angles you cant see in 2 out of 3 fights.
The story is less chaotic than black flag to me.

The adding of health packs makes a lot more sense and had me playing AC in a different way that I'm used to do. The stealth-mode and guided descend-functions make só much sense.

An incredible amount of side-missions and network features!

You can't take people that give this game a rating under 7 serious, thats hating on the franchise.
