    The most overhyped piece of trash I've ever played. Every Call of Duty game has been identical since 2007. The developers make very little effort to make the games exciting and this is no exception. If you already have MW2 or any other COD game for that matter, you certainly don't need this. There's absolutely nothing new on offer. Avoid like the plague.

    Its the same game as modern warfare 4. I cant believe the developers are actually charging full price for this garbage. It would have made sense to maybe make this a 30 dollar expansion,Being that the campaign is only 4-5 hours long, and the muti-player is simply a few tweaks here and there. Do your self a favor and put your money into something else

    HOW TO BRING DOWN A JUGGERNAUT------>i haven't played this game all that much (i did get to the second prestige), but it's the last call of duty i will ever have anything to do with. i have bought every call of duty since COD2 at xbox 360 launch and i will never buy another. it's got some to do with the fact that this game is very derivative of its predecessors, but it also has to do withHOW TO BRING DOWN A JUGGERNAUT------>i haven't played this game all that much (i did get to the second prestige), but it's the last call of duty i will ever have anything to do with. i have bought every call of duty since COD2 at xbox 360 launch and i will never buy another. it's got some to do with the fact that this game is very derivative of its predecessors, but it also has to do with the fact that somehow the COD formula has gotten boring. the way this game is set up, you get a concentration of all things bad about the COD franchise; incessant camping and snipers, unimaginative maps, and horrible lag. the real reason that i will from now on pass on any future COD title, however, is the way the game's producers have handled this elite premium debacle. like anyone else who has kept up with the series, i was aware of the agreement activision had with microsoft, and was familiar with the practice of xbox getting the maps first. however, COD representatives (even when pressed about this very issue) were, at best, evasive in answering questions about how that exclusivity would affect the release of maps for MW3. this caused me (who owns a 360 and a ps3 but prefers the ps3) to buy the ps3 version of the game because i felt i no longer had to consider the time difference for the dlc. i would have just got the xbox version had i known clearly that the microsoft/activision agreement remained. not only that, but activision found it to be a good idea to blame the fans for the confusion and continues to say nothing to the myriad angry fans. essentially, MW3 is an average game, there are much better online shooters out there, but the treatment fans (who have paid extra and even waited for midnight release because they were so fervent in appreciating activision's product) have received from activision as a result of this awful situation has me unable to buy any further COD iterations just on principle alone. i don't think i'm alone. i'd say the market is ripe for more fan-oriented shooters to eat into COD's bottom line, and the fact is that many of us will not be sorry to see this franchise's disrespectful actions result in the end of its dominant popularity.… Expand

    I wasn't even going to give a review (because it's all been said here many times already) until I saw the tweet from one of the dev's asking for us to give mw3 a positive review. I think the current user score is pretty much spot on. I got sucked in by the hype and paid for elite. Feeling like a bit of a chump now.     Look at my 360 review, they are basically the same. Continue critizing this trash people. Maybe someday Activision will get it and actually produce something new and fresh, we can only hope.

    I don't understand why I keep buying COD games. They're all the same unimaginative, reused junk. It's not fun any longer. Back to BF3. Never buying another COD game, they're all the same and have been for years.

    The story has not changed much from former Call of duty series, going down a hallway, and shooting people. Some hallways are larger and some are smaller. And the multiplayer is generally not much different, dont waste your money this time around.

    No but seriously, it's a Michael Bay movie with great effects with a **** story and the gameplay sucks, did I mention that? // Not trolling just cba to think up and write a proper review as it wont make a difference, kids who think they're pro and guys who think the game is good cause of the effects will love it and you'll pretty much be standing there looking them straight in the eyes giving them a sci face to how much fail they are, and the sad part is they won't ever realize how much this game sucks. I mean, not even Activisions President realizes how ****ty it's ****tyness is.

    Dear Activision, stop publishing the same games, you made one good game, Call of Duty 4, a game that deserves every fame it has, but after that don't just make the same game, we want something new. Final thought:

    Modern Warfare 3 is the laggyist piece of **** I've ever played. 50ms room, everyone has 4 bars, shoot a guy in the head 4 times with nary a hit marker, he turns around and shoots you once in the foot and miraculously you die. God forbid something explodes anywhere on the map or air support is up.     Simply the worst game that ever came out. The dev guy asked on twitter for people to rate it up and for that alone it deserves to be downrated to hell.
    Story is bad, gameplay is same as in other ones, this could have been DLC to mw1.

    It's pathetic how they can churn out this game year after year, doing nothing but add some guns, textures and a new story.
    I believe "trolls" are entirely justified calling it things like "Modern Warfare 1.3" or "Modern Warfare 2.5" - it is little more than a map pack and it bemuses me how every year people can go out and buy it for £40.

    you love only money activision, and dont power up this old graphics, check bf3 for a seriuos 2011 graphics, Half of the sounds, equipment, perks, guns, and only one new attachment are in the game. 80% of the killstreaks are the same. modern warfare 3 just feels old already

    This game uses the same engine as Modern Warfare 2, doesn't show us anything new, the campaign is patethic, boring and way too easy, the multiplayer is more of the same (as I said already). Also, there will be alot of DLCs. Incredible, this game is probably the worst ever.

This game brings *nothing* new, fun or interesting to the industry, it just perpetuates the boring respawnfest that is allowing real innovation to happen. I genuinely played it looking for reasons why it's any different from the last 3 identical titles. I honestly couldn't say I found a thing.     A disappointment on all levels. Same as MW2. Nothing new will be added to this series. The developers are mediocre at best. There is no more creativity from these people.

    This game is rubbish, they (Activison) have been shipping the same exact game for years now and I am sick of it. I am ashamed to have put this money grab in my disc tray. Goodbye Call of Duty

    Just a complete joke. I can't believe this actually got released. It's just like a DLC patch for MW2... Battlefield 3 is way better. They actually made a good game.

    This game is just another death knell of the FPS genre. Activision is riding previous success by releasing yet another clone that adds nothing progressive to the series. It's unfortunate that the massive amount of money they make is not being used to create something new.     The first CoD: Modern Warfare was a great game, all the others are just expensive map packs. There's absolutely no innovation, that's the sad truth; Activision destroyed this franchise. Don't ever waste your money on it.

    not only does this game suck, but the people playing it suck as well. You have your typical 5 y/o, the 1337 quickscoper, the 5 y/o quickscoper, the clan of 5 y/olds, campers and the one who complains about lag. Upon that, these CoD fanboys will defend MW3 rigorously if you say Battlefield 3 is better, they reply to every argument like an atheist giving reasons why god cannot exist to a theist

    this is just MW2.1... 5 hour campain, same multiplayer, this game should have been a $20 expansion.......................................................................generic and not worth it, wait until a price drop

    It's just one big over priced map pack. Overhyped! No quality. Just gimmicks by Activision to get our money! The developers are obviously trying to duplicate Modern Warfare 2 sales by giving us more of the same. Where is the innovation?

    There's a tangible insistence from gamers that this series needs to evolve, but it seems unwarranted when it still leads the FPS class. The engine's definitely in need of an overhaul, but when it comes to thumping set-pieces and addictive multiplayer design, Modern Warfare 3 is still in a league of its own.
