    Things about Watch Dogs:
    - Very nice graphics
    - A good variety of cars
    - Nice guns
    - Interesting plot
    - Chicago
    - The hacking is too easy

    Almost everything in the game is very good except the hacking. It's really too easy. The NPC is sometimes a little weird, but often it works fine.

    I will start by saying I think this game is getting an extremely harsh ride.

    Firstly, performance. My pc specs are: 2600k with mild oc Gtx580 stock speeds (3gb) 16gb ram Win 7 64 Nvidia drivers from about a year ago (long story involving mods and enb's) Watch dogs defaulted to high settings, I immediately turned textures to ultra. Played for a few hours and then maxed    I will start by saying I think this game is getting an extremely harsh ride.

    Firstly, performance. My pc specs are:

    Gtx580 stock speeds (3gb)
    16gb ram
    Win 7 64
    Nvidia drivers from about a year ago (long story involving mods and enb's)

    Watch dogs defaulted to high settings, I immediately turned textures to ultra. Played for a few hours and then maxed everything else (detail, shadows, water, reflections, ambient occlusion etc) except AA which I left on a medium setting. On the first evening (release day) it played fine, smooth 95% if not more of the time with the only exception bring a stutter fest for a second or two during some night time car chases. Last night however, I played for approx 3 hours with no issues at all whatsoever. Smooth as anything.

    I am a huge fan of immersion, and especially graphics (i mod most games I own to increase texture detail and lighting quality etc)and I think on high this game looks great, on ultra it ranges from really good to stunning, depending on location and time of day etc. I will not be Modding watch dogs graphics. There is no need at the moment.

    Bugs - usual uplay disaster with logging in on release day but I got in after a few mins of hitting retry(certainly nothing compared to far cry 2 launch day) the first time I started a game I had an issue with not being able to pick up some items (the ? Didn't change above the item) I restarted and I've not had any other issues, or that one repeated.

    Gameplay- it's a good game, it's very similar to gta.... And will probably become a bit repetative in the same way but after initially finding the controls a bit mysterious (it doesn't always tell you the buttons, and they are not listed anywhere which I found really frustrating) and the game a bit clunky, I started to get really into it. Do not turn the look sensitivity up, like I did, just get used to his geriatric turn speed. After an hour or three I feel 'at one' with the controls.

    The world- incredibly good, for me it's better than any gta game, it feels more real, more alive and more natural. I generally only play games that are first person, as I like to be immersed in the game world and especially when bearing in mind the in car camera angles like the one behind the wheel, first person view on foot would be fantastic. I wish there was a first person view, but hey ho, it is what it is.

    One slightly immersion breaking aspect is the police. They are a bit ott in general, and will often send loads of cars and start shooting for not a lot EXCEPT if you get in a boat, in which case you are as good as free, even the chopper won't follow you across a tiny lake.... dont get me wrong, AI is generally ok, It's not really bad but would benefit from a bit of subtle tweaking.

    Overall it's pretty much what I expected, it's a good game bordering on really good. The missions will no doubt get boring (like with other similar titles) but roaming the city is rewarding, with the city being the best in any game so far (car engine sounds are extremely satisfying by the way) and if decent dlc content is released then this could be a big winner.

    - Rinse and Repeat formula: You will do the same side missions over and over and over and over....forever. At least in Assassin's creed they felt fun. I got bored chasing someone who just committed a crime after the 2nd or 3rd attempt. It's just empty and emotionless filler.
    - Glitches: There are so many glitches even with the latest drivers and a high end system.
    - Characters and Story: The story is again just plain boring. Some of the side characters are quite interesting but Aiden is so detached that I actually couldn't care less half the time when he getskilled.

    The digital trip mini games are about the only thing I had fun with. One of them reminded me of Carmageddon and is actually much more fun than driving around in the game itself as the physics in that situation actually make sense.

    Don't waste your money like I did. I believed the hype. The E3 videos had me hooked since last year. The 'control the city' idea sounded unique and limitless.

    The reality on the other hand is an empty shell of a game with no soul, hugely repetitive and unfulfilling gameplay and mixed back of technical features. I've only played a few hours but can't even force myself to continue. A first in my many years of gaming!!    … Expand

    May look simple but these points mainly bothered me:

    If it wasn't for the bad performance and driving i would've given this game a 7, but unfortunately this game disappointed me after waiting for it's release since the first trailer came out..    … Expand

    Okay, first of all, don't compare watch dogs and GTA, it's doesn't make any sense. The second. This game is great, really great, eventhough there a few bugs but it's not affected to the game pretty much. Watch dogs is great, but there something of it that may annoying you:
    -Driving: I gave it 8 because of WD's driving, it's like: the driving has destroyed this game. First it's too hard    Okay, first of all, don't compare watch dogs and GTA, it's doesn't make any sense. The second.     -The graphic: Pretty good but the texture is not good enought, and the trees is awful ( but i've never seen a sandbox has a good looking at the trees, even GTA...)
    -WD doesn't contain much of mini games like billard, pocker....
    That's all, the rest of the game is great and hard and just like Ubisoft promised. This is a great game, but it's should be 45$ not 60$ :D    … Expand

    This game look like GTA:Vice city. No Physics. No reflections. The city is full of scripts - well, in fact in Gothic3 NPC were more realistic than here.

    Ok so this game should be one off the best in its kind for what i believe from crtics but in my opinion its the worst game ever in his kind.
    First off all graphics are really bad for the time we live in.
    second the mechanics of char and car driving are a hell.
    third lag lag lag even with a good grafic card
    fourth mission are stupid.
    guys plz dont buy this game its a money loss!!!

    I bought the game, on the release day things went bad.

    Uplay site was horrible to get on, lags and unable to connect. Took me 1 day to try and download "Uplay" and the download was corrupted. Then i restarted and tried again. Then finally after 5 hours i could "start up the game" but when i tried to play CRASH I had 5 crashed before i could even go further then the intro movies.    I bought the game, on the release day things went bad.

    Still no luck, this is day 3 and i still can't play this game. 2 of my friends could play it and they say it's horrible. Multi-player takes 1/2 hours before you can invade random people. Then it's broken.
    Game-play issues etc.

    for a game that got delayed for nearly 2 years you would expect them to FIX and bring a STABLE game out. where did 68 Mil $ go? how can a game that cost that much be SO horrible.

    The game is good but not perfect. There are no many games on PC like this one. GTA V were never released on PC so we should have not compare them two. We should rather compare it vs. the first trailers we saw 2 years ago. So what I noticed only as an disappointed is the Graphic - a little bit worse than presented. All the rest is the same. My score for this game is 8.

    This game is a really the best graphics on the market yet, and yes, i felt like it looked bad on the livestreams, but that was just the haters making it look so bad, but the game is actually looking really good, i was actually sometimes (even at morning) strolling around for looking at the game - it looks really good on Ultra and high, and i can agree with people saying that this game is only for rich gamers, or something playing on maxed out (as i do), but that doesn´t really care, because the game looks great too on High.

    The game has a really an addicting gameplay. I was playing 10 hours straight, and i couldn´t even stop. People saying that this game is boring after 2 hours, have some ****ing problems. The game has too some kind of soul in the game, fx: When you´re walking on the streets, you´re seeing alot of people, but none of them looks the same (As cough GTA cough..), and some of them are actually doing stuff that makes you stop up, and look. The game comes sometimes with a random mission saying like "CRIME DETECTED! CLICK X FOR Destination!" Which makes the game not boring at-all; Sometimes, i was a bit stressed in the game because you really want to complete the crime, and you really want to try the Gang Hideout (Which shows the good stealth in this game), and sometimes you really want to try criminal convoy (Which is a tactical gameplay) And the criminal convoy, is exactly what that makes the game REALLY, and yes, REALLY gets the game to look look a ****ing badass movie! It works like that there´s 3 (sometimes 4) Trying to get the money/hash/armory away from the city (You´ll meet russians lol), which makes it extremely hard to complete, because people needs to be saved (like in the E3 Gameplay 2012), but TRUST me, it doesn´t work trying to **** around, even on medium they´re trolling, you, and just to say: THE. NPCS. ARE. NOT. DUMB. And why are they not dumb? Well because: 1st: They´re calling reinforcements, which makes you ****ed sometimes, because they´re coming from behind, and the front of you. 2nd: They´re not just YOLO'ing in this game. They´re going to immediatly find cover, and they´re running behind you, to **** you up. 3rd: When they´re driving, the (secret) guards will dodge your shots that you´re shooting, and try to drive as near, as possible, and they will drive behind you, to get your ass pwned 7 times in a row. 4th: If you´re in a shop, and there´s a TV Screen, and there´s coming news about you, the owner will react in 2 different ways 1st. He´s going to warn ctOS with an alarm under the desk. 2nd: He will say to you, if he knows that you´re a good guy "Hey, dont bring me in trouble. Get out of here!" Then he will hide under the desk, and not warn the police.

    The skill tree in this game is extremely helpful to survive in this game, and it has a lot of different skills to upgrade, the one im upgrading most, is combat, and hacking (which is a bit important in this game). And i really love the skill tree, and a lot more than far cry 3 Showed us.

    The first time driving in this game is really special for you when you start, but i learned it faster than i could count to 20. It´s really easy to drive in this game, and it feels like a driving game, because you will feel the difference when you´re driving in this game, in any other game, like this: Muscle cars is the most difficult to drive, and they have a handling like a leopard have. The normal racer cars, and performance cars will sometimes have a really badass driving, and handling, when the normal cars will just feel uninteresting to drive in.

    FINAL VERDICT: The game has some bugs, which all game has, and it´s not like "OMG TOO MANY BUGS KILLING MYSELF" It has like some strange bugs, which only with trying to make a glitch, or trying to **** it up. I must say, that i dont understand people that have rated this game, they should really be tortured for saying something so bad, even gamefront was stupid enough to jump on the train. Many will think, when im giving it a rate on 10: "Lol, ya dont mean it, right?" And yes, i do. This game lived COMPLETELY up to its hype, but it seems like it was only GTA Idiots that reviewed this game, and GTA, cant ****ing beat this game, at all. The history is full of surprises too: ((SPOILER)) BadBoy17 in this game will be Clara Lille, which is a really big surprise for me.

    This game deserves with a golden badge 9/10: Addicting Gameplay, extremely perfect design, AND AI/Tech too!    … Expand

It took me entire day to download, only after coming back from work, I spent 3 hours trying to figure out how to launch without it constantly crashing. Then, just gave up. Next morning, it launched, but the game was nothing like e3 2012 with everything ultra. My system is decent enough to handle it:

    Frames would go single digits when you drive too fast, stutters, graphical glitches, everything didn't seem fluid, I can go on. It is the most horrible port you can bring, I don't think ubisoft knows the word optimzation and many of the problems can be found first hand testing as the vast majority are getting them. Really, Ubisoft simply just ported the PS4 version and pushed to PC in a day, that is the only logical explanation.

    With the gaming using Gameworks of nvidia, which uses horrific practices of reducing performance or further improvements from competitors of nvidia, is a further slap in the face for non nvidia gpu owners.

    Last ubisoft game I am buying, with no laws for piracy where I live, will pirate them only.    … Expand

All of their games have bugs and glitches when they come out, but that doesn't make the game bad. That makes it buggy. Also - the game requires a lot of machine power.     Anyway - onto the actual review.

    I've not completed the game yet but so far the game has been very fun, there is lots to do and very little things holding you back from just doing what ever you feel like. I have to say the things such as destroying criminal convoys are completely out of the story life, but really fun with a 40,000 dollar grenade launcher. The main story, personally, is very good. Before I bought the game BETA critics were complaining that it's an over-reaction (the whole storyline) but I think that it really fits.

    The gameplay its self is also pretty damn awesome, the driving mechanics are a bit ... crazy. BUT are really fun to mess around with. The graphics in the game are amazing (I play on ultra). The game could do with a few more open buildings though to make the world even more open.

    The AI aren't the brightest bunch, I'll give you that. From reading 'sowingsadness's' review it seems that this person must of been previously playing minecraft and having some sort of finger increment. 'NPC' that's a non-player character. AI are the civis and soldiers that shoot at you, including the police. 'Woods cars' seems legit. The car's are a lot more sturdy than real life, but that doesn't really make a huge difference. etc... etc..

    The texture pop ins - which are on purpose just annoy you. You cant even experience the world slowly without having crap ramped into your face ( i hated max payne for this ). You want to hide in a car after running someone over? NOPE useless. we will put annoying yellow circles in 3 seconds you have our hard to lose cops on your tail for 10 minutes which mind you, catch up to you regardless of how fast you go. The only way to lose cops is to GO TO HIGHWAYS!! YES HIGHWAYS, you cant lose cops the ordinary way ( the hacks dont work ) this engine does not recognise distance, only speed.

    It would have been so much better if it was slower paced - less crap crammed into your face, and MORE SIMPLER. Games have a reputation for coming out clunky, overly complicated and boring.

    I was also unable to use a few graphics options due to bugs such as flickering lights, and motion blur not properly working. I am now able to turn all settings up to Ultra and run the game without issues.

    The problem with frames dropping in areas with lots of dynamic lighting has also been cleared up. I think that same issue was what was causing the difficulties with driving the cars.

    At any rate, the game is much better than it was in my initial review. It's not as good as GTA V by any stretch, but there are a lot of fun elements.

    Hacking should be more involved than it is. I get one button for quick hacking options, but the hacking minigame for unlocking the areas could have been used more for some of the more stationary hacking situations, like ATMs and such.

    Graphically it's very pretty, the shooting isn't bad. Again, it's not GTA V, but it took a few cues from that game and it works.

    It's shorter than it should be. For an open world game the campaign is painfully short. There isn't a ton to do in the city, but it'll keep you busy for a week or so if you do everything. Again, it's not GTA V. The graphics are technically better GTA V, but the setting isn't as dynamic. Chicago isn't extremely colorful and diverse, it's got the same issue as GTA IV as the colors are rather bland and the neighborhoods look largely the same. It's realistic, but not visually all that appealing. Details are nice and it looks great on ultra, but the bland urban setting keeps it from being as interesting as GTA V.

    The soundtrack isn't bad, but it's not great. I don't usually turn the tunes off, but rarely pay attention to them.

    Don't expect a GTA clone. It looks a lot like one, and has taken some inspiration from GTA V in the interface and controls. I compared it visually, and yes you can steal cars and create havoc, but this is much more like Infamous meets Assassin's Creed. You're not nearly as nimble as either of those games, but mission structure, story, and the types of activities you'll be doing are more similar to those games than GTA.

    This doesn't live up to the massive hype but, it's still a good game. Things have improved since it was released a great deal, just make sure you have the latest drivers for your GPU.

    I recommend waiting for a Steam sale or a pretty good sized discount before picking it up. It's an ambitious title with a lot of neat elements. Using the environment through hacking is a lot of fun. This is essentially a superhero game, but your super power is your phone's ability to interact with the environment and NPCs rather than energy blasts. The morality system isn't the best I've seen, but it's not the worst either. It's no worse than the one in Infamous and works pretty much the same way. Your choices are essentially be Batman, or be the Punisher. I suppose you could go for all out murderous evil, but the game isn't really intended to be played that way. You can, but the mission structure is pretty much laid out for either Batman, or the Punisher, or some medium between the two. As with most morality type games, you're expected to go with one or the other for the most part.

    Skill upgrades keep things interesting and work similarly to Infamous, though there are no purely good or evil powers that I'm aware of. It's more a case of picking what matches your playstyle the most, and then getting the rest just for the hell of it.

    The game isn't near as bad as many of the current reviews make it sound. At present, the bulk of them are from the pre patch release. They are perfectly justified as the game should not have been released in the state it was in, but since then the issues have largely been resolved and the game has become a decent superhero game.

    I recommend it, but I recommend a rent or picking it up on sale. It's a lot of fun, but not really worth paying full price for due to the length and bland setting. It's a cool idea and when it works it works well, definitely worth giving it a go when the price drops for sure.    … Expand

    A lot of people have been giving this game very poor reviews based on launch reactions. As a result a lot of people colorfully added things such as "nothing to do in the city" which I might add is an outright lie and people saying things such as NPC's are lacking in intelligence, which is also a lie.     Before I get into a review of the game itself, let me just say that PC version of the game is buggy to being outright unplayable right now (that should change at the end of the week or sometime next week when a patch comes out) as well as poor optimisation issues. Once this changes I will go ahead and amend this portion to let people know how well the game runs. So if you're looking to get the game, I would recommend waiting till they patch the game.

    Now for the content, after playing about 6 hours I just got done with the main starter mission and just entering Act 1 (which took only about 15-25 minutes getting through btw) I spent most of my time actually using ctOS system to hack away at people's account's, profiling people to see what they've done and what their footprint is, stopping randomly generated crimes and hunting down people who just decided to cause a public altercation. The wealth of this content kept me quite busy when I finally realised I was playing way for over 4 hours before I decided to do one of the Digital Trips.

    The one I did was about the Spider Tank and I can tell you it is as fun as it sounds. You control a Spider Tank and wreck havoc on the city itself. It is so fun causing chaos and destruction I had to force myself to get away from it when I realized I hadn't eaten for 8 hours. When there comes a time I have to force myself to stop playing in order to eat because I hadn't had anything in the last 8 hours, to me that is a great first impression.

    Now about the hacking, a lot of people complain that the hacking is one button contextual notions and has nothing to do with real hacking. To those of you have similar criticisms or to those of you have seen them and agreed, might want to understand how script hacking works because most people need to understand one obvious thing, in a central computing system where the security is overarching and the same, such one button exploits are not only possible, they're inevitable. This is coming from someone who actually frequents hacker forums where these kinds of discussions are almost routine among the political forums.

    So how is the hacking you might ask? It's fun as **** I can't tell you how much I began to laugh my ass off when I started a traffic jam by screwing with the freeway lighting system, which systematically ended up turning into a riot after a few people started punching each other after arguing for about five minutes about who's fault it is. It was a natural chain reaction that felt totally emergent and it literally made my insides hurt.

    With the profiling there is a bit of satirization that makes me just laugh my ass off. One person I profiled had an internet footprint of actually purchasing a crap load of hentai... I'm not making this up, I literally died laughing when I saw it, it had an almost GTA style parody feel to it which made it all the more interesting.

    Car's handle like **** not much to say, but then again with the keyboard and mouse I tend to hear car's don't work well together. Will give a better detailed impression once I try it with a gamepad, but suffice to say, the car's handle like they should, but just not optimized for keyboard and mouse.

    Now just to let people know I have given this game a 7 simply for the fact that I have not played that much of the content so far (even though I get the feeling I'm going to be playing the game for the next 6 months and not get tired of it) but I will amend my score based on more gameplay and will probably rewrite this review as time goes by. As a result, the score will also change. But I have a feeling that this game will probably get a perfect 10 if not a 9 from me.    … Expand

With a 3770k and gtx 780 (overclocked) I am now able to actually play at decent fps with only slight dips here and there on Ultra, tweaking a few things down has made it completely playable. And to address some of the 0's talking about playability.. There is a leaked copy that has a Altcoin miner attached (alternative to bitcoin) sooooooo yeah, take that for what it is worth.

    Nowwww onto the actual gameplay.

    Hacking - Fun at first but kinda wish there was more to it than just press and hold a button. I can see it for straight video cameras but eh, its a nice feature that could've used some tweaking. It is however fun to use as far as the stealth aspects; be it checking all security cameras to plan out your route, distracting gaurds, or even blowing them up with their said explosives.

    Driving - Personally i wasn't expecting Forza, GT, or anything else. Does it feel kinda an afterthought, and put on the back burner? Yes. Does it break the game? No. After i switched from KB/M to Xbox 360 controller i found it a lot easier to get around, and love cruising around on a motorcycle. The damage to the car is hyper-non-realistic but meh, not a game breaker for me.

    Story - As someone else said a bit cliche' but it has heart, and makes you feel for what is going on, has happened and what is going to happen. Does it pull you in bioshock-esque? negative.. Did I want to skip it or run through it with no regard? No. It has heart, and is pretty well written and acted.

    Gameplay - So much to do can be a bit overwhelming, but you can choose to what you want to do, and there is a variety of stuff to do outside of main campaign and sometimes ill hop on the game just to do some of the side quest stuff (AR Mini games, hunt down criminals, etc) and ill have fun doing so.

    Graphics - While i don't feel the graphics are truly "next-gen" but if anyone remembers when 360/ps3 came out, they weren't leagues apart either. It takes time to catch up. Having said that, the water, rain, and textures are amazing. Just don't expect the Ultimate OMG Best GFX EVERRR and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Don't believe the hype and don't believe the debydowners. It is a nice middle ground.

    Fun - Simply put, the game is fun, and for that, Ubisoft gets my vote and my money!

    Wrap-up: Could it have used a couple more months of polish, definitely but they had that. I am glad they delayed the game because i could only imagine had they not. I am sure after a patch or two some of the optimization quirks will be had and i can go back to Ultra @ 1440p. But for me, the game is fun, immersive and a good time, quirks be damned.    … Expand

For a company that has released pretty great titles; AC, Ghost Recon, and Splinter Cell - I was hoping for something epic from this new IP. Keep in mind I am comparing it to all games. When you tote "next gen", you best deliver it and not fall behind on things. Here are my issues I saw with WD on PC.

    Graphics/Physics

    1. Reflections are fake
    2. No water ripples if you shoot at water. (bad physics)
    3. Car and world damage detail lacking/unrealistic
    4. Driving had a large learning curve.
    5. Pedestrians are oak trees. You can't move them from their positions
    6. Graphics are not next-gen in comparison to many new AAA titles launched this year on PC. Looks good for consoles but that is what they're expecting in comparison to what they're used to previously. FWIW, my modded GTA: IV ( A damn PC port from 5 years ago!) on PC still looked more amazing than WD did.
    7. Dynamic shadows are piss poor.

    There are videos outlining the differences in GTA: iv and WD if you search for it on YouTube.

    So yes, the game looks "prettier" because it takes advantage of new graphic technology and power, but as you can see, UBI developers were slacking off when it came to details.

    Gameplay.

    1. Hacking is a cool approach. I like that. Thumbs up for that.
    2. Hacking got repetitive and old after 1-2 hours of game play. The inability to hack a laptop or other electronic devices found in the usual world is just out of place for this techno thriller.
    3. I like the fact I can go guns blazing or be stealthy. But my stealth tools are again limited for something this powerful. Why can't i just stop a car with my cool special phone? Why can't I lower my wanted level by sending misinformation to police cars? Why can't i send cops to that Gang area and have the cops deal with them or be a distraction?
    4. the amount of activities you can do vs other similar titles is far less.
    5. Missions are engaging. Side quests are not. It's just Aiden narrating and you go do it. Most Side quests are repetitive.
    6. AI isn't that smart.
    7. If someone calls the cops on you, cops "magically" know your location even you're hiding. Yet, you're unidentifiable from CTOS and any camera hooked up to it....

    I've played all of UBISOFT'S big name titles. This game has the reused driving mechanics of Driver, the reused animations from Assassin's Creed, stealth mechanics from Splinter Cell, with hardly any originality. I just feel UBI was lazy in this IP. Saving cost of development to dump masses of it into marketing (which they did very well). Thus you have a poor product. For gamers like me, you'll notice the difference. For everyone else, you'll fine a decent title to enjoy - especially those who only play console. PC gamers... save your hard earned cash. UBI didn't work hard enough to earn it. This game has potential, but they need to put more work into it to make it "Next Gen" as they're claiming it should be. Sorry UBI, you've fell short on that in too many places in this game.

Make sure you aren't pushing your rig too hard and getting some artifacting. To Teratron1, sorry, but it doesn't sound like you know too much about gaming rigs. I haven't even messed with multiplayer yet, but so far I think it is a pretty solid game that will only get better with time. Many people who are downing this game are comparing it to GTA4, and insist the latter is way better. I, for one, was not that big a fan of GTA4 or 5, but am so far enjoying this game. Not groundbreaking, but solid. I'm really not sure why people are giving this game 4's and below. Remember, when Crysis came out, it ate top end computers for lunch for a year or two before the hardware was cheap enough for everyone to play on ultra!… Expand

I am not kidding. Anybody who worked on this game and isn't ashamed is either brain-dead or corrupt. More time and money when into making the E3 trailer two years ago than actually developing the game since then. I am ashamed that I even had to watch a friend play this game. The only reason I give this game a 1 is because if you can possibly get past the glaringly obvious issues, the broken physics, and the blindingly terrible graphics, it actually functions like a game.

    Why both to buy this? Can't even be played at ultra high settings on a high end pc gaming rig. 8GB of ram are recommended but 6 is needed just to run it. Not as expected, expected a little more fun and the driving feels like crap (its not the lag).

    Whoever pre ordered this and then found out they don't even have enough specs to run it and not as expected should feel bad.

Crossfire is not supported, and from what I've read, AMD cards just gets screwed for even trying to run the game. Even on lowest settings, the game stutters horribly. NPC conversations are repetitive. You can walk down the street and hear the same repetitive conversations, the cars don't take any sort of crumple damage, you know, something that GTA 3 (you know, that game that came out over a decade ago?) could do.

    There are a few cool parts, like the Spidertank, but even that gets bland quickly. Not worth the money, and I'm going to be asking for a refund.    … Expand

    But as we all know, driving is half of what makes a sandbox game fun. This is where Watch Dogs hits the ground and smashes its face hard.

    While driving, you will be frustrated to the point that you will prefer walking or even turning the game off. Every mission that has driving as a major component will be an excruciating experience that will leave your fingers hovering over "Alt+F4". Thankfully, a lot of these missions aren't compulsory, so you can avoid them.

    GTA IV should be taken as the standard for a driving mechanic with games such as this. It simulated realistic handling and car physics, which might have made it a little challenging for someone inexperienced with racing games or actual driving, but after a while anyone with half a brain mastered it and enjoyed driving even after the game's conclusion.
    In Watch Dogs, you will spend the whole game trying to keep the driving time to the absolute minimum so as to avoid tossing the DVD out of the window.

    I applaud anyone who can go from A to B in Watch Dogs without either
    - smashing their face into the keyboard
    - bouncing around like a rubber ball
    - crashing into pedestrians (which is especially annoying as it lowers your reputation which leads to constantly getting chased by the police and killing more pedestrians in the process)
    - crashing into a car or thirty (not really a problem as cars in Watch Dogs are made of kryptonite)
    - spinning the car out as you try to take off
    - choking on the Watch Dogs DVD

    Riding a motorcycle is especially amusing as they seem to superglue Aiden's butt to the seat every time he gets on one.

    All in all, the driving mechanic completely destroys this otherwise alright game. As I've said before, driving is half the game and receives a 0/5 from me, the rest of it I'd give a 3/5 based on the predictable story and oppressive and unimaginative but otherwise OK gameplay.    … Expand

    The game was fun, it wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but still fun. The AI can be dumb at times and a few graphic glitches here and there(not to mention issues with UPlay), but still worth the money.

    There is very little bad about this game, and you feel like a badass while playing. People are just stupid sometimes. This game is worth your money, unlike Battlefield Four. How    Okay.

Most of the missions provide no excitement. The story starts off great with the first mission but then it just runs off a cliff.     -gameplay elements that we've all seen in other open-world tomfoolery sandboxes.

    The game's biggest fault however is that it tries to be something it's not. There is a sort of cognitive dissonance going on between gameplay-story-premise. The game really tries to convince you that you're some kind of hero, with even a reputation system tracking how much of a c*nt you are. But it fails entirely because the only way to make money is by stealing it, and being an A-hole, despite the reputation system, has no consequence whatsoever. You can kill thousands of innocent people, cause billions worth of damage, and still be the "hero" at the end of the day. These types of game have always been about running around doing crazy things. And while others, like GTA and Saint's Row, wear it on their sleeves, this game tries to pretend the whole way through that it's a "Good little boy". And that kind of thing just sticks out like a 50 year old man pretending to be a hip and cool guy.

    Aside from that, the game is generally solid. The mechanics that are there are good enough, there are plenty of things to do, and hacking, while incredibly easy and using only a single button for everything, is generally fun.

    The fun however can be severely interrupted by some serious framerate issues. The optimization for this game is terrible. So are the controls. The whole game was designed with the console in mind, and they couldn't be bothered to make a decent PC port. Don't buy this for PC. I mean it. Stay the hell away from the PC version. If you're desperate then but it for PS4, otherwise wait till Ubisoft or some modder fixes the optimization.    … Expand

    This game is great! Game play is fun and extremely interactive. Can't wait for the patches to smooth things out. That is why I give this game a 9 and not a 10, is because of the technical sloppiness.

    Ubisoft just gave the middle finger to 40% of the PC community who use AMD Radeon cards like myself. I won't blame Nvidia for ruining the industry with their proprietary crap and closed environment. I'm blaming Ubisoft for ignoring us. I'll update my review once the game gets patched, and if not I'll be requesting a refund.

    The story... I have no idea what is going on to be honest, just got up to the bit where you meet up with badboy17, and so far... Aiden was at a baseball game... he escapes and causes a blackout, he goes home and sleeps, he goes to a birthday party of a kid with no friends, he kills a pervert, then he meets badboy17. I have no idea what I'm doing here, what I'm fighting for, why am I breaking the law? Perhaps the story develops throughout the game, but at the moment it's really not sunk me into it at all.

    The AI is among the worst I've ever seen. To the point that I'm starting to think it's some kind of optimization problem. The AI somehow knows when you stealthtakedown an enemy NPC in a hidden spot, they know you took him down and they know exactly where you are at all times. Every AI members heads straight to your location on melee takedown and as of that moment you can no longer hack wthout being taken out. The best thing to do is find a bottleneck doorway that they will have to enter thorugh to get ot you and proceed to blast each NPC that enters until they are all dead in a pile of 30 men in the doorway, then step over the bodies and walk through the rest of the mission completely uninhibited and completely bored. I seriously think perhaps my copy is bugged or something, but I tried verifying files etc and it's still the same. This CAN'T be the actual AI of a 2014 game, surely!

    The shooting with mouse and keyboard is bad, the controller is worse! It just feels laggy all the time, I wondered if perhaps it was too much for my PC (Core i7 4770k, gtx 770, 16gb ram) but on fraps I'm getting 50-60FPS at all times using nvidias recomended settings for the game, so I guess this is just how it plays?

    The game just does not feel right to me at all, it doesnt feel fluid, running is like wading through a tar pit and driving is like sliding around on a bar of soap in a bathtub. I really like the concept, but between the so far unremarkable story and just poor core mechanics of the game, I actually don't feel any drive to keep on playing.

    I hope that it is all just an optimization issue, I could handle the poor story if the game was a joy to play, but as it stands at the minute it's buyer's remoarse 101 for me.

    I'll see how this game looks in a while after updates and then I'll update my score and opinion when the game's condition (hopefully) has improved.    … Expand

If you are one of the large amount of gameplayers who have noticed the decline of quality with ubisoft titles(happening since Chaos Theory & GRAW, when Ghost Recon was tactical and the Tom Clancy name meant something), your concerns are warranted. Ubisoft ONLY make nice videos of products they can only dream of making. Stop being burned by this company

    Tully amazing game! I've played it all day and am constantly impressed with the diversity, imagination and attention to detail. Worth every penny I paid. The best thing about this game is the immersion.

    So, i bought PC verison of Watch Dogs, but i barely able to launch it on high-end spec - uplay connection issues, multiple crashes to desktop within first 10 minutes of play, weird tooltip symbols while using localization - that game simply is not worth it.

I like games with long storylines and the GTA series has always got this right with the quickest person to complete it getting it done in around 24 hours which is pretty impressive.
    -The dialogue is bad, I mean it is ridden with clichés and you don't feel attached to characters, in particular Ray and Aiden the title character. You literally spend 4 missions going from a bar fight to Ray moving in with you and joining your team. Clara is also boring and I really just don't feel any emotion or attachment to any characters. Aiden was marketed as a hero and vigilante but the only real way to make money is to hack into innocent peoples bank accounts.
    -It ends up in the later missions just becoming bloodbaths while at first yes you can hack and sneak around and use security cameras, which was pretty cool, it ended up just being a few circuit boards that you can blow up and that's about it, and I found myself using my Assault Rifle more than anything else.
    -The game is unfinished, while yes the core game is there, I noticed a whole host of things were missing from the game or unused; vehicle horns are there but you're the only person who actually uses them, you are the only person capable of driving motorbikes and as no factions can use boats, you can escape from virtually any chase in a boat. Until you get to later missions and snipers shooting the boat a few time causes it to explode, or often when you crash into another boat it just disappears and you are left to swim.
    -The hacking offers little freedom, the hacking opportunities become scripted events where you `ride cameras` to get to a destination and there is no freedom involved here as there is a set path that you have to take and then hack into and then you're done.

    The positives were as follows:
    -The first mission, well the first few, were really cool and set a tone for the game that the rest failed to keep up to. For about an hour we had some fun cool missions and it actually seemed that we were going to get emotional development between the characters but we only met Nicky once before she was kidnapped and any chance to give us relate-able characters were all destroyed.
    -The graphics for the most part were solid, but were about the same as Grand Theft Auto's graphics so don't expect any game changers like we were promised.
    -The missions while they lasted while challenging were generally enjoyable and while they did tend to be shoot-outs, that was still a very fun experience, although is astray from what Montreal were originally intending I'm sure.
    -Car crashed are really realistic, by far the best sounding and looking in a game so far, although then they are ruined by the fact that no one ever gets injured or killed in car crashes and when cars go upside down you or an NPC just teleports out of it which breaks immersion in things that otherwise look pretty cool.    … Expand

    Let me start by saying I wanted to love this game, I really did.

    If there were no other problems with this game I would recommend it. Sure, the hacking mechanics that were supposed to set it apart from other GTA-esque games were rather lacking and some strange design features such as other players being able to intrude on your single player session were incorporated. But at the end of the day this is a solid game with a decent story and interesting characters. However the thing that makes me not reccommend this game are the frustrating and clunky controls, constant crashes, poor optimization for PC, and game breaking bugs that occur constantly.

    As soon as I started playing it was evident how clunky the controls in this game felt. Mouse acceleration makes aiming difficult and slow. It is a constant fight with the game to make Aiden use the right object as cover. No, I do not want to crouch on the side of the vending machine as cover, I want to crouch behind it. The UI in this game was clearly designed for controllers, everything from the inventory wheel to Aiden's smartphone interface is very clunky to use with a mouse and keyboard. There is also a gamebreaking bug that when more than one directional key such as 'A' and 'W' are pressed when aiming at a target with your weapon, your character will not stop moving in that direction after you stop aiming which results in a retarded looking jog into walls and enemies resulting in a death. This bug occurs constantly in combat.

    Watchdogs also suffers from extremely poor GPU optimization. My machine is getting old but with 2xHD6950's and an i5 2500k I expected at least smooth performance on medium-high. Instead on medium-high settings at 1080p resolution the game stutters along sub-30 fps in outside environments. When driving there are also extremely annoying instances where the fps will spike down to 10 or so every few seconds. In addition, Watchdogs randomly crashes to desktop every so often.

    If it wasn't for these extremely frustrating control issues, optimzation issues, and random crashes I would have recommended Watchdogs, but because these exist: please please please do not buy this game until these issues are sorted out. It will only result in hours of frustration.

    Without bugs and Issues: 7/10

AI is just plainly and simply completely down syndrome ridden, even on hard, and the NSA-esque digital prying becomes irking and never gets any funnier than stupid allusions to NPCs' sexual preferences. The only mildly entertaining character here was the azn with the funny hair, and even he wears thin quickly. Textures pop in and out constantly, yet this is merely a tidbit of what I've been hearing about the more common technical difficulties my brethren have been experiencing (RANDOM CRASHING; need I say more?).

    And the worst aspect of it all: even on Ultra with every setting cranked up to the max, the game looks NOTHING like the E3 2012 tech demo that we've been salivating over for 2 years. We were brokered a fairy tale by snake oil salesmen, yet again. When will we learn?    … Expand

    -1...Also there's absolutely no resemblence (graphics-wise) to the 2012 "gameplay" trailer..even at ultra-settings, so here's your bit of false advertisement...

    -1...Gameplay-wise it controls sluggish as all hell...the first time you point a gun (in the "tutorial") it felt like having to move your arm with 10 bricks strapped to it (upping the mouse sensitivity only helps marginally) and that pretty much affects the driving-controls as well...only THEY are MUCH worse, you accelerate as if you're sitting in a rocket and afterwards it feels like driving on ice...in the end, it takes a bit to get used to (if you force yourself, you can get used to everything after all) but it just doesn't "feel good" (it's like you're constantly thinking: "okay, can this stop now?...please, let this stop")
    All of this indicates that the controls are pretty much meant for controllers (which, again, is a horrible testament of inaptitude to make a proper pc-port) but even when playing with a controler, it has a very heavy, sluggish feel to it...it's just uncomfortable to play...

    0...The Story is basically a typical run of the mill revenge-thriller story mixed with open-world gameplay...Assassins Creed had that already and it's really nothing excitingly new, even the side-missions feel very much like a "been there, done that" kinda deal and the whole hacking-shtick doesn't offer enough variety to to make it stand out of the utter mediocrity that is the main-game...it's not "bad" but also not particularly "good"

    -3...and at the very end, probably the most offensive thing a game can do...it's plain boring...from the intro-sequence it pretty much goes downhill to an unnecessarily drawn out plot (all the things that are supposed to make us "feel" something for Aiden just didn't do anything but waste everyone's time...judging by his blank stare and monotone voice, even Aiden doesn't seem to give a sh*t) with a completely dull main-character and a city that does anyhing but "live and breathe" (it's pretty much a static chicago with a few people strewn about here and there, which you can sometimes hack and get some randomised unnecessary bit of useless information...or money) it's utterly boring and tedious to play

    My advice? if you want a fun open-world game with lots of things to do and a somewhat passable story (let's be honest, in most cases the stories are rather similar anyways, but it's interesting, engaging characters that make a seemingly generic story "special") then go get the likes of Sleeping Dogs, GTA V or Saints Row 3...if you just want an open world to f*** around in, buy Just Cause 2 or Saints Row 4...but for a pricetag of 60-70 bucks and the massive overhype this game had before release, Watch Dogs seriously doesn't deliver and just feels like no one actually put any effort into making or giving this game something, anything special....overhyped mediocrity at its best...

    This is definitely a revamped version of Assassin's Creed. I wouldn't compare it with GTA 5 at all.

    The only thing I am not very used ot (yet) is the driving: very hard to turn with the keyboard. Probably with a controller might be easier?

    Great game, amazing graphics (shadows / reflections / the rain - umbrellas - water ponds is quite cool).

Games that look the same and run at half the framerate? Are any competent programmers even left in this industry?

    Soundtrack: Too short and uninteresting. No variety. Music for people who don't really like music, they just have it playing like noise in the background.

    Gameplay: Soul crushingly limited compared to what people expected and were led to believe. Profiling is random phrase generator placed on top of random face generator. Hacking is press Q when prompted and something cool happens. Driving is bad and hard to explain, cars slide at random times but still manage to feel like trucks somehow. No damage model. Shooting is generic 3rd person shooting, guns sound absolutely abysmal like peashooters, and all weapons that I've noticed 1 hit enemies on head which is really easy to do, so variety is pointless.

    Story is uninteresting and the protagonist is supposedly driven by personal tragedy and trauma but doesn't really show it. Missions brought back nightmarish flashbacks of all the AC4 "FOLLOW" and "STAY CLOSE" missions that everyone hated, because they ARE basically the same missions. Stealth system is forced on you because of those terrible missions, no reason that I've noticed to not kill people at every opportunity. UI is broken, cursor disappears randomly at certain screens and moves at triple the speed at others.

    I will stop here because I could write a book about this game. I just stop and think "Is there a single element of the game that was as good as I expected?", and the answer is no. Every single thing about it ranges from bad to meh. Huge disappointment.    … Expand

    Let me start by saying that I’m writing this review on the second day after the game has been launched, so there are many issues that may be improved in the future, however my score and the review is based on the current state of game.     I was really impressed when I started playing. The first mission gave a hint of what possibilities a player has and there are lots of them when we are talking about all the interactions except driving, which I will cover later. Blackouts, raising road blocks, messing with street lights, hacking into people’s phones, robbing their bank accounts, listening to private conversations - this is something that has never been available in any other game so far on that scale. The variability of all the tasks/missions you can take up is amazing. Shooting is decent. You can sneak your way in knocking enemies out or shooting them with a silenced pistol or you can shoot your way in with carbines, shotguns, grenades and many other. You can also use a range of many useful gadgets or hack into various devices to blow them up or just to distract enemies. This is all Fun with a capital F.

    Now let’s look at some drawbacks. The game is quite difficult so you will repeat a lot of sequences. It’s only a matter of time when you will get irritated because of the fact that you cannot skip cut-scenes. You can neither save your game whenever you like, since there is only auto-save option. Driving is far from comfortable. Perhaps if you have an Xbox controller (as this is the only supported controller in PC version) things are better, but using a mouse and a keyboard will probably give you a headache. I would say car handling is somewhere between GTA and Saints Row IV - not so bad, but not good enough. Car damage is totally unrealistic. Drive straight into a wall with maximum speed - not only will you survive but your headlights will still be intact. Since this is game that promotes stealth it’s kind of puzzling why it is not possible to shoot lights - the only way to turn them off is to use a blackout gadget or blow a power transformer. The story is dull like Bold and Beautiful TV series. It all revolves around revenge - a motive old and exploited from all possible angles in entertainment. There is no humor. The main character is hard to be liked. The choice of clothes he can wear consists of changing colors mainly. You cannot reject a phone call. You have to get out of a car to start a mission. The reflections in shop windows are not real and look funny. The subtitles are shown in such a way that the last word of a sentence appears in the second line while the first line is already gone, which makes it hard to read. You cannot travel by taxi. You cannot store your vehicles although you can call for any vehicle you have unlocked. The radio resets every time you leave and enter a car. Some may say these are minor drawbacks and it may be true, but there is one that must be stated. You cannot shoot from a car! You may say it’s not a big deal until you have to do a mission, where you have to stop a guy. He has a car, you have a bike. Try to stop a car with a bike with no weapons, driving on a highway where there are no traps, road blocks you can use to your advantage and at the same time 4 other cars are trying to push you out of the road and are shooting with whatever they got. That’s where I got stuck in the game. I cannot abandon the mission, I cannot load a savegame from before, so the only option for me is to try until I succeed (I have tried about 20 times already) or wait for the developers to kindly enable shooting while driving.

    All in all, I strongly advice that you wait for the game to be fixed before you buy it, unless you don’t mind all the things mentioned earlier. I haven’t brought up the online issues, because I believe they will be fixed soon.    … Expand

    I have installed the game via Uplay, I cannot play it a whole day. I got crashes, VCRedist errors, than crash to desktop, everything.

Although U(don't)play wasn't working last night it didn't stop me loading the game in offline mode.     OK, you make this game playable, try these tips:-

    -Use a controller, I'm using a 360 USB PC controller
    -Use the -disablepagefilecheck method of launching the game
    -Set your PC GFX like this to help stop FPS problems:- (Thanks to whoever wrote this)

    Refresh, Aspect Ration, and VSync are grayed out because...
    Window Mode: Borderless. This helps with FPS
    GPU Max Buffered Frames: 1. I read that nVidia cards work better with 1, so I just set it like that
    Textures: High
    Anti-Aliasing: Off
    Widescreen Letterbox: Off
    Graphics Quality
    Level of Detail: High
    Shadows: Medium
    Reflections: Medium
    Ambient Occlusion: HBAO+ Low
    Motion Blur: Off
    Depth of Field: Off
    Water: Medium
    Shader: Medium

    With these tips the game becomes playable at least, the driving still needs attention but the games not too bad.

Movement, combat and usage of the phone feels solid and well developed. Driving however is woefully undeveloped and can't even stand in the shade of GTA or Saints' Row. The driving aspect of this game in reality needs to a rework and deserves to be patched asap.

    The city feels ok. People are less extreme than they are in GTA but in my opinion they reflect reality better than GTA pulls that off. To continue with the obvious comparison to GTA, story progression is similar with different " acts", each with a set of missions. WD offers missions along the side like its competition. Do jobs for fixers, prevent crimes etc and do mini-games. The mini-games are hit or miss. You like them or never look at them. The side jobs feel fine, have bearing to what the main character us doing and preventing crimis does feel rewarding.

    There's a lot of complaints about performance. On my AMD Athlon 3Ghz, ATI HD7770 and 8Gb Ram setup the game runs flawlessly on medium settings. I haven't tried running it higher but considering my system is quite outdated I was pleasantly surprised by the game's performance.

    Conclusion
    It's not as huge or polished as GTA V, but Watch_Dogs is a good game in it's own right. It does al sorts of stuff very, very well but is held back by the underdeveloped driving aspect and simplistic approach to hacking, both in terms of gameplay as in terms of ethical considerations.    … Expand

    Tris game is broken. Is not normal with a pc gamer with hi specs the FPS goes 15 on ultra. Many people with 780Ti with 6gb vram watch dogs runs 20 FPS.

    Very bad optimization. The last game that I buy from Ubilol. Never again.

    Now the bad stuff, brace yourselves: Execution of the story is simply childish and feels like bull#hit (ubisoft does not evolve in story telling since AC2, on the contrary, it degrades). It's a good story but the way it's told and the way events happen in the game feel anything but realistic. Especially police chases. The Enemy AI is veeeeeeeery poorly written and does inhuman things from time to time. For ex: a sniper in a helicopter, who gives you headshots with 100% precision while the helicopter is flying with great speed. Plus it's almost every time one guy vs 20-30 in open combat. That. is. not. real. Ubisoft, get it already. On such serious idea of story telling and serious character the childish one man army idea does not fit. He's a hacker, not Chuck Norris. And then you find yourself not needing the hacking skills because you have to shoot the guys. And the hacking itself is as stupid as it gets. Now it would be fine if they just invented it that way, but they bragged that they'd talked with famous programmers and they do the hacking as realistic as possible - bull#hit again!

    Verdict: 6.5 . Have to give 7 here because there is no 6.5. The idea of a god-like hacker in the city went to sh#t because Ubisoft clearly doesn't know how to execute such idea in a realistic and honest way. In the end you simply play as a headhunter who is pointed towards his targets buy other hackers. Just another assassin's creed.     Storyline is bland and boring, nothing at all like how it was advertised during the E3 promos and recent storyline trailers, but the side missions and additional stuff is on par with GTA V, which is not what can be said for the driving. The cars drive like they are made of unresponsive clay with lubricant on the tyres, and seem to pivot rather than drive like any open world game cars I have played with. The motorbike is great though, which I use whenever possible. It feels like it's designed to not drive at full speed around the city, and instead drive like an old lady, following all the lights and signs etc.

    The UI is good, feeling clean and slick, giving little bits of information about everything around you as you approach it, and often giving you a chuckle as you find out what people have been searching for online, or buying alot of, or taking part in, via the little pop up vignettes that show on any NPC in the game.

    Good points:
    - City is huge (not compared to GTA V but big enough)
    - Graphics are lovely after you find your sweet spot
    - Side missions and free roaming is great fun
    - Multiplayer is really original, and alot of fun to play

    Bad points:
    - uPlay (forced DRM, online reliance for the good features)
    - Day 1 DLC (big bad move for any company to do this)
    - Storyline feels boring and empty, characters have no personality
    - Car driving is absolutely awful (really really bad)
    - Hacking, while intended to be simple, feels over simplified
    - Game is barely anything like the one that was advertised
    - Price is ridiculous, I got it for free and still feel a little ripped off
    - If GTA V was out on PC, this game wouldn't get a second look from anyone

    Overall, I am enjoying it, performance issues aside, but only really for the stealthy part of the gameplay and the secondary quests, as the main storyline is boring. Would recommend, if you can pick it up cheap on Kinguin or similar.    … Expand

    I love this game. They have done such a great job. The attention to detail is phenominal. Do not listen to people complaining about poor performance connection issues. I have had no issues with this game. I think people need to understand their hardware and their capabilities before reviewing a game.

    El juego es una broma de mal gusto, con un i7 4930k y una radeon 295x2 no puedo jugar en ultra porque el juego pega bajones a 20 fps sin sentido alguno.

    Ubi se ha lucido con esta basura de optimizacion, voy a pedir el reembolso del juego, retraso del juego par esta porqueria de rendimiento.

    I'm about 10 hours in with 14% completion. Only 3 out of like 40 (I think) story missions done, and still several types of missions that I haven't started yet, as well as several more of each type I have tried.

    There is a lot to do, some stealthy, some shooty, some trippy, some hacky, some goofy, some serious... sersiouly a lot to do in Watch_Dogs.     I continue to have a blast just wondering around hacking people for money, listening to their phone calls, reading their texts, peeping into their homes and apartments. lol.

    I see a lot of complaints about the driving, but I think that's just because it "feels" different than GTA or Saints Row, so you kind of have to re-learn how to play. I guess people hate that. Learning.

    But I love the WAY it works, hacking streetlights so it takes out an armored convoy that didn't even know I was there. Or slamming on the brakes and firing a barricade so my chasers fly by me and slam into it. Raising a bridge with juuuust the right timing so that I can jump over but they cannot follow. Time it just right and you get an awesome slow down so you can admire your hacking (timing) skills.

    It's fast, its dynamic, you always have options over the GTA/Saints Row staple of "drive fast" and I love it.

    Tried some of the Multiplayer, it's interesting, kinda like AC but you are trying to stay in range without getting spotted, or trying to spot who is after you. The matchmaking system is kind of a bummer, because you are locked out of a lot of activities while you are queued in the MP system but its another thing to do in the world and it (and all the other activities) is better than ALL of those "things" to do in GTA.

    The game continues to run great for me, no lag, no stutter, no crashes, no memory leaks, no bugs aside from a tiny bit of open world funk here and there, I haven't had to get new drivers or anything, just install and play.

    Really hoping the buzz on this game turns around a bit.

    Yes it sounds like AMD users are having more trouble. Yes it sounds like there is some weird FPS issue with PCs that should completely overpower this game's engine. Yes Uplay was down for a while today a couple of times causing some trouble for some people to download the game.

    But that's no reason for people to give 1 or 2 star reviews. Or even to not recommend it to others.

    That said Watch_Dogs might not appeal to every single GTA/Saints Row/AC fan out there... but I liked those games a lot... and I can't wait to have some free time tomorrow to play more.    … Expand

    Ubisoft's flagship title has a really, really repulsive protagonist. The entire storyline feels like it was cranked out of a automated story generator. On the positive side, Watch Dogs looks really good on PC, especially after modding the graphics to match the visual splendor of the early E3 demos. [Aug 2014]

    Nothing could have realistically lived up to the immense level of hype that Ubisoft stirred up for this game, and while I value strong narratives and envelope-pushing technological advancements, I place just as much importance in the ability to enjoy the gameplay that's being offered to me. Watch Dogs is one of the more exciting sandbox games of the last few years, and if this is to become Ubisoft's next big franchise, I'm excited to see where they take it.
