Compared to most other open-world games (GTA series, Saints Row series, etc), the control layout (on a 360 pad) in this game is very natural and comfortable. Being unable to shoot without aiming means that the right trigger can be used for sprinting, instead of the typical awkward left shoulder button. Being unable to jump at will frees up the A button. Not being able to shoot while driving eliminates even more awkward contortions. These are all compromises that didn't sound appealing to me going in, but after spending time with the game I find it to be a superior setup.

In terms of gameplay, the main storyline is of adequate length and although there aren't as many side activities as there are in some rival games, there is always something to get into in Watch_Dogs' gritty Chicago landscape. The game world is bustling with people and a variety of traffic that (perhaps because of the diversity of vehicles compared to other games) feels very organic. Add in the hacking gimmicks and the amazing paranoia that the drop-in-at-any-time multiplayer spies and hackers inspire, and the result is probably the best open-world game available on PC behind Skyrim.

When you first find a match with 6 or more people without hackers it can be really fun. Back to singleplayer. A lot of people didn't like the side missions, but I adored them. :)

First of all let me say that I cannnot for the life of me understand why people are flaming this game so much. Maybe the expectations were too high, or people are just expecting something that is not really their genre, but I honestly don't understand it.

I also have no performance issues whatsoever, and I am playing on a QuadCore Q9400 @ 2.66 GHz, 8 GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 650 1 GB.

I also have no performance issues whatsoever, and I am playing on a QuadCore Q9400 @ 2.66 GHz, 8 GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 650 1 GB. Sure, not at the highest resolution and on medium to low settings, but that still makes the game look better than GTA IV. Frame rate is consistent and ultimately that is all that matters. I guess I'm also from a generation that played games before terms like "anti aliasing", "shaders" and "HD" were even terms used, so my expectation might be different. Each and every single GTA game was a benchmark for its time, and I'm sure GTA V will be doing the same upon release for the PC. So why should Watch_Dogs be different?

As far as the game is concerned, I find it absoutely addictive, similar to the GTA games. To me it feels like a combination out of GTA, Batman Arkham City, Assassin's Creed and Max Payne. You can argue about the cliches, but that is part of most computer games. I find it ridiculous that most reviews appear to be based on day one performance of a game. When has there ever been a game that was bug free on day one? How many games have required patching in the past and are now absolute classics with an excellent replay value?

I expected a GTA style game from Watch_Dogs, with some added, different features and for once not a mob, or gang background. A game that is fun and lets you play the way you like, when you like, and that is precisely what I got. If they had made the "hacking" any more complicated, the game would not have been accessible to the "normal user", to someone who doesn't necessarily need an understanding of how networks, computers and mobile devices work together. It all works well, and I have probably a good 25 to 30 hours under my belt so far, without even so much as having completed ACT 1, let alone the DLC content that's available. If a game is that much fun, that I can spend hours playing it without actually doing any of the campaign missions, that means it's entertaining and a good game to me.

I find the missions fun, the combat satisfying and interesting, the city feels alive and even the driving makes for a fun diversion. Sure, there could have been a bit more damage to the cars and I would have liked an option to repair and/or customize cars, but then maybe that would be overkill. I'm glad Ubisoft combined elements from their other games and to me personally it's definitely a nice addition to my game collection.

I think people need to stop being so ridiculously whiny about releases, and the developer can't be blamed for not meeting people's expectations. I watched the demo videos of Watch_Dogs months ago and knew then I would love this game. So far there was nothing shown in the early gameplay videos, that the game does not allow you to do. Watch_Dogs delivers what it said it would, no more, but definitely not less. If you don't like the game, that's one thing, but it does not deserve the 0-5 score marks it has been getting. Definitely not.

There's hardly anything good about this game. The AI is absolutely horrid, the hacking isn't even all that interesting, and nearly all of the missions are the same. It's kinda fun for about 2 hours, but then things get repetitive. The city isn't that interesting and doesn't look that good either. It's a good game to pick up if you manage to find it for $5 or less.

The stuttering occurs even more frequently when driving fast which only adds on to the horrible driving mechanics. I've tried downclocking everything and I've tried the latest WHQL and Beta drivers to no avail. Two months after release and they still haven't fixed the stuttering. What a joke, Ubisoft. - Runs poorly even on high-end systems with the most annoying stuttering (sinuous frame rate). Tested both "High" and "Ultra" @ 1080p on a Core i7-3770K with 32GB DDR3 memory, R9 290 4GB GPU, HW RAIDED SSDs, felt like my computer was seriously outdated.

    - Uninnovative control scheme... One too many individual binds. For example, the cover system is a frustratingly awkward mess -- press one key to take cover, another to exit?! Why not a single key for both, like Mass Effect 3's cover system? This is only made worse by the inability to bind other keys in that area of the keyboard...

    - Forced (negative) mouse acceleration... when you're trying to "fine aim" the crosshairs at your target, it feels like you're moving your mouse in thick mud. The GamerProfile.xml "fix" doesn't really help that.

    - Can't adjust/change mouse wheel up/down ("next weapon"/"previous weapon"). I use the mouse wheel too but I need it inverted.

At least it never crashed on me, for which I give it 1 point out of 10.

All in all, games are supposed to be fun but I experienced frustration for much of the play through so...

The game looks like a AAA game from two or three years ago. Some people often compare it to another GTA-like with a neat but underdeveloped gimmick that also happens to have "dogs" in its name... And that also happens to look better. However, the optimization was left to two starving interns to do and the game suffers from every optimization problem you could imagine : a whole lot of input lag, a huge memory leak on most configs, lots of stutter, terrible FPS even at the lowest settings, no DX9 support...

The game itself is an average GTA-like built around a gimmick that is very limited in use. Whereas the game could have been an open-world Hitman with lots and lots of ways to get around an enemy or kill them directly using your environment as a weapon, most of the hacking is either mandatory or unnecessary (because a run and gun approach is just much simpler). You can't use a combination of hacks to kill an enemy (say, reversing the escalators time and time again to make him panic before he decides to take the elevator that you then proceed to drop a few hundred feet). It just ends up feeling like an other way of killing civilians when you get bored looking at the amazing trench coats physics.

It's overall a very shallow game with a badly integrated gimmick that is just gonna end being a dumb franchise that will slowly die off.

Ubisoft should stop with the lazyness and the re-branding of their Assassin's Creed games.

Well, I find it more enjoyable than Ubisoft's Far Cry 3 and the combat mechanics superior to Sleeping Dogs.

For the most part, I'm like the game. Fictional Chicago feels real. The visuals and lighting are impressive. Although graphic quality is a sticking point with gamers lately, most are over zealous. Watch Dogs maintains high graphic fidelity while simultaneously pushing cool visual effects. When Aiden's profiler app is active, information is constantly streaming in about people and environments. Viewing Chicago thru a hacked camera takes mere seconds as the whole world is shifted to different perspectives. Even fast traveling is speedy. These seamless transitions are handled in true Ubisoft fashion. That's a good thing. Despite the huge world, it only takes up 22gb of space. THANK YOU UBISOFT!! I'm tired of 50gb+ games that offer less and look worse.

Hacking is easy, unlike the cumbersome minigames in Dues Ex HR. In combat, hacking can be combined with stealth to provide tactical advantages. Players can craft items that will distract opponents or knock out the power grid. Hacking bridges and stoplights while driving allows speedy getaways. So one touch hacking makes sense and keeps the pacing brisk. Or players can use lethals and blow up everything in sight. And focus mode slows down time long enough for players to pick off a few baddies. The cover system is perfect for stealth, and focus mode is a treat for those who like to place headshots. However, driving is clunky and cars handle horribly. Unfortunately, players are forced to complete dozens of frustrating chases.

There are side missions, but they don't feel quite as repetitive as Far Cry 3. There are different online game modes such as racing, and players can invade other people's games. Fortunately, the invasion mode can be turned off for those who only want to focus on the missions.

Unfortunately, the game is not PC optimized. There is micro stuttering, fps drops, and sound hiccups. Thankfully, ATI’s latest beta driver address those. Now, I generally only experience problems if textures are set to Ultra. For now, I'm forced to leave textures at High. Occasionally, the game force quits and frames still stutter. Without ATI's effort, Watch Dogs would be unplayable. The game is extremely RAM hungry. My system RAM will peak at 5gb but my GPU's VRAM won't go past 70% load. That's a console port legacy and explains the issue with Ultra textures.

Although gameplay is fun, there are frustrations. I can't tell Aiden which car door to exit. I've automatically exited the side of a car taking all the gun fire. Stupid. I wanted to exit the passenger door and use my car as cover while placing a few shots. Nope. And I agree with critics that hacking is superficial. It seems most beneficial while evading pursuers. However, I really think Ubisoft is trying to force players to use multiple play styles. If all enemies could be hacked, the game would be too easy. If hacking was complicated, then it becomes Deus Ex. The dilemma for Ubisoft was establishing the right balance. It wants players to engage in combat. So hacking is only advantageous for gaining intel, thinning out enemies, or escaping.
Aiden's carries every gun, lethal, and hacking device he touches. Also, his phone (the primary hacking device) has an infinite power supply. Even if the battery drains, recharges quickly. Need grenades? Just craft those on the go. Get the point? It’s way too easy. The missions can be challenging depending on the approach players take. But there is always the temptation to take the easy route: Blow everything up and shoot survivors. There is one huge annoyance. If Aiden dies during a mission, his car disappears. So players can be stuck with a POS clunker for one of the dozens of chases unless they restart the mission.

The story is OK. It doesn’t have the depth of Sleeping Dogs, but it’s more enjoyable than FC 3. The ceaseless propaganda is annoying . Even if car radios are disabled, advertising and "news" will still play conveying the same message over and over: Is technology evil? Are we giving up privacy for convenience? I'm tired of hearing that every 2 minutes. The lack of subtlety is irritating after the 10th time it plays. Dues Ex did a much better job conveying a similar message.

Watch Dogs is a great effort by Ubisoft into GTA's world. In fact, I say it’s a must own. Despite the gimmicky hacking, the game is fun. I'm disappointed by the buggy PC launch. The PC gaming market is much larger than big publishers acknowledge, just look at Steam's success. ATI did what it could, but Ubisoft needs to push more patches now. The game deserves an 8 out of 10, but poor optimization and poor driving mechanics are impossible to overlook.

How is it that enemies who don't know who I am are able to get alerted because they see me? This is in public, in broad daylight, and unless Aiden is wearing some invisible sign that only enemies can see that says "Shoot me I'm the main character", he looks just like every other joe walking around.
Nikki is broken out in a stealth sequence that you direct her in, kinda like in Blops 2 with the SR71 scene. Just shooting enemies would have been more fun.

Legend of Zelda-style zoom ins. Seriously I think every time a new enemy walked into the fray it required its own 10 second clip of me watching them enter. Hell there was one time in a campaign mission when the last remaining bad guy outside a warehouse was supposed to drive off, initiating a chase sequence. The game required me to watch him drive ~100 yards from the warehouse to the street before I could control Aiden again.

The game yelling at me to stay within the mission zone, with timers if I leave it. Seriously wtf.

Gears of War slow walk. Remember how in GoW Marcus has to walk super slow to talk on the phone. This game does that... a lot.

Zoom in on vehicle kills. If you take down a vehicle using your hacks, it zooms in on that vehicle in slo-mo, which since their often behind you, causes an inordinate amount of car crashes/civilian deaths when the camera returns to your perspective.

Story from a high level is awesome, but the details make no sense. Literally everyone in the city knows you're the vigilante before your sister does. Hell during one mission where you need to prevent some dudes from telling on your identity (even though they only saw your face and don't know your name) I had a lady on the street say "Hey you're Aiden Pearce, the vigilante". Wtf.

Also, despite the fact that the FREAKING RADIO says Aiden's the vigilante but has the support of the people, when your nemesis posts that to public tv, everybody goes bat **** crazy and tries to call the cops on Aiden.

Side note, somebody deserves a medal for Lucky Quinn's character design. He's perfect.

I am a fan of Ubisoft, I love the Assassins Creed games.

Watch Dogs was misleading from the get go. It lured players into a fall sense of what type of game this was going to be. It turns out this game was restricted by the very thing that apparently made it fresh Hacking - while being able to hack into things is a cool concept, other than pressing a button at the right time, it in no way felt like a hack from a players 'gaming' perspective. (The game attempts to deal with this by giving what I think are supposed to be puzzles to break into networks, but are to easy to be granted that title.)

Hacking then directs the story. The story is what really lets this game down. A single Uncle putting his sister and her kid in danger, whilst in the process of trying to avenge the death of the other kid . It''s the dumbest story for a video game I have ever seen. To the point I stopped caring about why I was killing people and breaking into places.

What's worst is the games only difficulty is avoiding the police. That's it. And this doesn't matter what setting you are on. You use hacks to get away from them. This can be very difficult later in the game and may ruin the enjoyment for some.

I feel if the development team during the making process consulted players and asked for feedback during; they could have or would have made a very decent game.

Instead. If Sleeping Dogs was about Kung Fu to rip off Grand Theft Auto, then you have to think Watch Dogs was about Hacking to do the same. You cannot try and innovate by coping another working model and editing it. People will see right through this.

I think that's what is going on with all these mixed reviews. The "bugs" and low scores are just peoples way of venting frustration. I didn't have any bugs during the process of playing this game. The overtly high scores are I think other peoples way of combating the stupid low scores people are giving. This game is a solid 7.

Buy this game once its reduced in price. It was and is not worth the full RRP. Play it for the gaming experience that it is. It is not a horrible game and does not deserve the score of 4.6 by users.

Ubisoft should learn from this failure. Invest in better programmers, artists, story writers. They need to connect more with the people they make games for. Otherwise they risk repeating the same mistakes with future titles. Failure is hard on anyone, Especially a large company, but you come from a position of strength by admitting you didn't get it right.

GTA would never be like Watch Dogs due to its lack of sophistication and obsession with gang violence. Walking the streets of Watch Dogs' Chicago might initially look and feel like GTA, but it is quite different. For a start the game provides you with the names, occupation, salary and some random bit of information (maybe they are into dog grooming) of all the citizens you walk past on the street. This humanises the citizen a little, but the citizens will help you in a minor way if you don't kill them on purpose. Because if your reputation is good with them then they won't immediately report you when they see you with a gun or when driving recklessly. This means that you start to respect the lives of the people around you, something that I haven't experienced in an open world game before. Normally my favourite thing to do is to drive down a pavement and kill as many joggers as I can, but in Watch Dogs I haven't done this because I don't want the hit to my reputation. I actively avoid killing people in car chases and avoid using explosives and causing collateral damage.

Many reviewers have complained about the unnecessary stealth sections, but in a similar way to the encouragement to not kill civilians, I found this to be a refreshing change to both GTA's gang warfare and Saint Row's madness. It encourages more of a Splinter Cell style of gameplay where you explore the area, setup your encounter and then execute a plan, often with gadgets to aid you. Watch Dogs is not about killing hookers or running around naked. It is about exploring a more realistic city and manipulating its systems.

The hacking in Watch Dogs is more limited than I would have liked. I really wanted to steal from the rich and give it to the poor, but this isn't possible as you can't give money or dig into a civilian's life like that. The citizens exist, but not beyond their name, age, occupation and income value. These aren't people you can follow home to meet the family. It would be overly to be able to be more intrusive into the civilian's lives, but obviously this shows the limitations of the current game simulation. Hopefully in sequels Ubisoft will start opening this up, but at the moment you are limited to playing with traffic lights, blowing stuff up, changing traffic lights, controlling automatic bollards and playing with computer controlled bridges.

For the PC version you need to get the graphics patch as Ubisoft has purposefully changed and degraded the graphics on the PC version of Watch Dogs to make it look similar to the console releases. To achieve this they removed a few shaders, changed the fogging effects, the lighting, shadows and degraded the texture quality. Get the community graphics mod, trust me. Plus it runs better with the mod.

Some of the side quests are a little lame, but it is a big game with many different side missions, Chess puzzles, drinking games, poker that you can partially cheat on, slot machines that you can't hack, gang racing matches, gang hideout missions and random crimes to stop. One of the unique Watch Dogs experiences is driving around and then having another player invade your game. This takes the form of another player connecting to your game and you having to find them before a progress bar reaches its limit. Then when you find them, you have to chase them down. This is a fun and sometimes an annoying surprise, but refreshing and different as it doesn't feel scripted or forced. Hacking is the central theme of the game and this enforces that theme more than anything else that Watch Dogs does.

There is an Android and iOS app that allows tablet and phone users the ability to connect to games and play a cat and mouse game where the app user tries to control the city resources to catch the hacker, but as the hacker I had so many disconnects that it wasn't worth my time to play. I suspect players were disconnecting before I won the matches because Watch Dogs takes experience points from players for poor performance.

Some of the characters in Watch Dogs lengthy story are cool like his sister and nephew, and his ex partner Damien, but Pearce himself is very bland and although given a reason to hunt down the people who tried to kill him, the game never shows why he is drawn to hacking as an individual or why he is called a vigilante and not just a normal hacker or criminal by the police. I would have liked to see more motivation and more demonstration on the vigilante part of his character. Or even an explanation of how he got the vigilante label.

The whole "fake E3 demo" thing doesnt show that this game is bad, it shows that some guys at ubisoft are liars. You know what? welcome to the world kiddoes, because it is common knowledge to not believe everything you see or hear !
And it's not the first time there are blatant differences between an E3 demo of a game and the published game itself.
There are, I'll admit, some issues with the game performance wise, I had some lag spikes myself, however, Skyrim has lag spikes too, do you see me giving it a 0/10 because of that? no!
I haven't had any other problems apart from some very rare crashes (only three times during my playthrough of the game).
If you had any more than that, considering the average age of the people who reviewed, I'm guessing you didn't check to see if your PC had the minimum specs for running the game.

This was my message to the +1000 who came here just to give this game a 0/10

    Now to my review.
The game is quite good, the gameplay is innovative and interesting, though there are some problems like the fact that police can sometimes be evaded too easily with the use of a boat.
The game comes loaded with side content: the girl rescue missions, the Augmented Reality mini games the High-on-drugs mini-games.
It's definitely a fun game to play, even if it doesnt last very long.
Gunplay wise, I appreciate the fact that you can use cover everywhere and stealthily approach your enemies, though I believe that maybe having access to 20 weapons at once is a bit exaggerated.
I personally thought that Aiden Pierce was quite a realistic character (obviously not many people think the same way), he shows that he has human emotions and throughout the game he has difficulties coming to terms with his actions.
I personally love the way cars handle, I might as well remind you that this is NOT a racing game.

Would I recommend this game for purchase? Absolutely, if you like GTA-like games that is, However I strongly recommend you try out Saints Row and Sleeping Dogs first if you haven't already because those two games deserve more praise than this one.
Still, this game is far from bad and shame on the people who say otherwise.

The graphics downgrade was disappointing, but at least it could be re-enabled through a mod for PC.

The cut scenes are some of the best I've seen in a video game, very cinematic. Animations are really good, especially of that of NPCs, disregarding some.

Side missions, at first, seemed nice, but they get really repetitive later on.

Overall, the hype surrounding the game kinda made it a disappointment, but it was definitely enjoyable.

    -Hide'n'seek
-Hide'n'seek (just a little bit different)
    -Car Race
    -Team Coop
I played the game for two days and got bored of it pretty quick. Alot of things in the game doesn't make ANY sense at all, not just lorewise but technically (Yeah I hack the phone of my sister, she stands right next to me and she sounds like she is talking trough the phone, there is no 2nd voiceover for her while standing next to her - NPCs attack you but ignore passengers, for not a damn reason and so on.)
The missions seem pretty repetativ and so does the gameplay.
I would not recomment this game to anyone, expect people who LOVE GTA games. But even though there are much better games.
What bothers me the most is the schedule they got and the game is still buggy and stuff. (So it was just for marketing reasons as far as I assume)

People haven't dreamed about a game like this. This is beyond the doubt, the most intense world-open game I have ever played.

It struggles when you're driving to bigger city points, the frame-rate drops when you're using low settings, although I have no problems when using high textures. I have no problems with the story-line, it's takes a while to complete but yet fine.

Bought the game played it for a good 3 days to give it a good chance but had to re-sell it on cragislist.

The multi-player hacking adds excitement to a single player story game. The side-missions like the QR Code solving make you really think compared to other open-world games trying to find those hard to find cameras. Makes you think outside the box.

Yes, there is some things that are not great about it... the driving at first felt like I was driving a semi-truck... now I figured it out better and treat it as a drifting game. I can easily win any get away missions or multi-player races. People... think outside the box. I do agree having a pipes game is a horrible add to hack into security. It just doesn't make sense. Also, there is some minor 3D building issues I have run across... but just minor. Not the hype problems the video game media is saying.

I highly recommend if you want a problem solving, mini multi-player open world game. I'm hoping that the DLC is as good in the future.

...And a note, if you are having technical issues with the game not working, Upgrade Your Machine! I haven't had one problem and I'm running on a 30" Dell Monitor at 2560x1600 with a single NVidia 770 GTX.

Lazy works can be clearly observed in this game. There are great deviations in lighting from various environment, either too dark or bright. Vehicles or NPCs get jammed in street. Crazy physic like people or vehicle flying like a rocket when being hit, is also present in this game.

The game mechanic is also an epic failure. The character animations and control are apparently direct clones from AC4 and Splinter Cell Blacklist. The hacking and driving mechanics are both laughable, you can just play the game as a mediocre TPS without any compromise in mission objective, in the ways limited by the developer, e.g. can't shoot when driving vehicle.

I won't talk more about the technical issues of this game, as it is mentioned by other reviewers many times already.

Basically, PC players are doomed due to some "nice" works by their "beloved" developers.

A game of such low quality with intention to play trick on PC players, can even break the sales record of the developers. Do you think that it is ridiculous? This presents a serious problem in the game community. Buyers, please learn to read the reviews, don't believe the trailer blindly and just pre-order. And most importantly, do not forget what the unethical companies have done to you, and boycott them in future.

Watchdogs = only GTA with Hacker's theme... Graphics are good, story correct but gameplay is awful. Driving is painful, especially when you need to drive like a mad to avoid police car or winning a race but you also need to avoid killing civilians with a limited time to do the mission... the stealth part is just useless, just take a gun and shoot people... disappointing

It has hideously outdated particle effects and shadows. Yes, the water looks great, but that doesn't count when there is no setting in the entire game that makes it run at at least 60fps on my high-end PC. In some places I felt like I was playing GTA IV. The pop-in in the open world is so terrible that it interferes with gameplay, especially when driving at high speeds. Weeks after its release there's still no patch out.

Now for the gameplay, the hacking is has turned out to be a gimmick that becomes tired in the first few hours you actually get to play with it. There are some interesting things you can do with it but those become boring after you've seen them a few times and most things you do with it are executed by just holding down a button for a second. Other than that, there are serviceable driving mechanics in place, but there's very little to do with it, as everything in the gameworld just has nothing interesting to offer you, not to mention that the graphics are so bad that it doesn't even have the entertainment value of just looking at the scenery, like you could do if it was just a boring game with great visuals.
Also it has semi-cover-based shooting mechanics, but there's just no punch to it and it's usually just frustrating to "play", especially when the framerate runs like a turtle.

The story is clichéd and the main "character" is not even just unrelatable, he's boring and hasn't got a single sign of a personality or character trait, but it's not presented in any way in which we could roleplay as our own. The game clearly thinks it's got an interesting character loaded with personality and a heavy emotional story, but it just falls flat on its face, because there is no character or actual strong emotional development to any of it.

This game would have been a huge dissapointment, if I would have been invested in the hype, so at least it didn't hurt me there, but what we have is still a hugely boring and noticeably overhyped "Triple-A" game, with a terrible PC version.

A lot of people have already mentioned sh** physics and and disappointing graphics so I will mention a few things a lot of people haven't said...

There are so many inconsistencies with the story and the main character I don't know where to even begin. Clearly the game designers intended to create a "good guy", yet in many missions he's on a terrorist rampage. The side missions will drive you absolutely NUTS. You gather money and spend time acquiring guns, yet in many missions, you will fail unless you specifically just "knock out" the bad guy. Are you kidding me?
In one mission, you can hide from the cops by simply ducking in your car, yet in the rest of the game the cops magically know your position when they're looking for you. Even though you appear completely anonymous by the CTOS system.
The city itself feels like a clockwork machine rather than a real life city. The pedestrians are generic, the UI drivers are probably the worse coded drivers ever who don't react to anything. Oh an explosion? No problem, I'll just calmly driver around it.
I could actually go on a lot more, but unfortunately I've wasted my time enough on this game. NOT RECOMMENDED.

While the hacking is simple, it can be fun at times, and there is some enjoyment in using hacking effectively to get away from cops, or catch people you are chasing. And doing all the Watchtowers just using the cameras was a fun puzzle to solve.

    4. Firefights - gunning baddies, not necessarily fatally - shooting knees neutralizes them, for peaceful amongst us. You can avoid most of the combat through smart stealth. Cover system is solid.
    5. Puzzles
6, Minigames - lots of them, and fun ones!
    7. Narrative and voice acting
    8. The best multiplayer I have ever played - you have to see it to believe it, pairing people in different scenarious, even with players on mobile phones with a special app!

I can't say enough good things about that game - there are negatives too.

Main character is too .... two sided. Game is not sure whether it wants him to be good protector of innocent or just an **** murdering people for no reason. His character is a bit flat too, graphics is a bit average(google the worse mod - makes the game look 10 times better and stutter less), and some missions are bit repetitive.

This is not a "realistic" game, hacking did not involve searching memory for pointers and references, but a simple mini-puzzle. Cars where extremely resilient when you drove them, and the physics were definitely comic. However, that made it more fun.

Gameplay seemed most fun as I tried to sneak through the majority of the hostile areas, but then resulted in Max Payne slow motion gun fights towards the end. I found it very entertaining.

This was a fairly solid game, the worst thing I can say about it was the pre-release hype which was so obviously BS. I'm glad I bought this game, I really enjoyed putting down the main antagonists at the end. Why do we have so many Trolls?!?

Don't get me wrong, the singleplayer story isn't bad and it is some kind of fun, i mean you always feel like superman with all the powers you got (slow motion, hacking with one button, youcan buy every weapon/item at the start of the game).
Okay first i will say something about the positives.
The multiplayer is some kind of nice, no extra loadscreens, you sometimes doesn't even notice it at first.
The graphics are very nice at night, at day it is "okay" not really nice but it could be worse.
And i really like, that you really can move into a train, not just "press a button" and see the train in third person like in e.g. GTA IV.
The shops are very detailed, you have bunch of minigames, there really nice for a short time.
Also i like the diffrent informations and easter eggs about the people walking in the city.

But now the worst part of the game...uff where do i start, there is so many.
The whole world is boring, you can't do something, every building is CLOSED, you can only move into the few shops and THATS IT!? Even in GTA IV you could move in a LOT of Buildings, but in Watch dogs, it's like the whole city is just a background for a movie...and thats how it feel, empty city, just random people.
Oh and if i talk about people, the "dynamic" missions you can start with people are like 99% the same and totaly Random, only your reputation will increase or decrease if you hurt some civilian.
And thats the other point, why is there an reputation system? i hate it, it was annyoing in every other game...who decided what is good and what not? I mean cops can kill people and nothing happend.
Oh Cops, they have a aimbot, they hit you no matter what, but there also very stupid, i think it is because the Console is the lead plattform...
The weapon handling is not fun, it is way to much, the game really forces you to invest your poinst into the skills, so the weapons are not recoil so extreme.
The Car physics are worst, it is very arcadig, like some very old need for speed game, you have the feeling driving a box with like no kind of real physics.
Oh and the car-damagesystem you saw in the E3 presentation? forget it, even Saints'row games have a way better car-damagesystem.
This game is terrible...i am a big fan of open world games, i love to explore the city, driving arround, i loved to do this in the gta series, because the car physics, the npc physics and the car-damagemodel were amazing, watch dogs has something from the 90s..

Fun but forgettable. Very clunky controls with keyboard and mouse makes playing with a controller a must. Since UPlay is also attached to it I rated the game a point lower.

You play as Aiden Pierce, a grey hat hacker and vigilante. After a tragic accident kills his niece Lena, Aiden seeks to bring his own kind of justice to the people responsible, all while protecting his sister Nicole and nephew Jackson. Honestly, the story here is your generic revenge story mixed in with a "Taken" style kidnapping plot. You'll be able to predict this story and there's no plot twist here. Another problem is that it takes awhile until the story begins to pick up some steam. The entire 1st act along with half of the 2nd act felt boring and actually made me stop playing the game for a few days because I'd rather play something else instead. The 3rd act is where things finally got interesting but the ending also felt like a disappointing conclusion to the 30 plus hour plot. Aiden is also a pretty boring hero. He isn't as boring as a mute protagonist but he has no interesting personality traits and he often does a poor man's Christian Bale Batman impression. The side characters are WAY more interesting than Aiden since they have more personality in them, more charm, and some of them have a good backstory. On a side note, why didn't they resolve Poppy's side plot well enough? It felt so unfinished to have an interesting character for only 1 mission then to just throw it away like that. Overall, the story here is bad and Aiden is a boring hero. If the sequel is being planned, give us a more interesting hero Ubisoft. 4/10

    Gameplay:
Watch Dogs's main selling point is in the hacking, and they did a solid job on delivering on that promise. With the help of some skills, you'll be able to hack objects like cameras, blockers, spikes, traffic lights, steam pipes, generators, and more. As said, you can unlock skill points via leveling up, or completing gang hideouts which are infiltrating a gang hideout and incapacitating the leader(s). You can use these skill points to unlock skills for hacking, driving, combat, and crafting. The crafting in this game contains a good variety of new gadgets to mess around with. You can craft devices that cause blackouts, jam nearby electronics (essential if you want to avoid the cops), IED mines, grenades, and pills that increase your focus. Focus is a feature that lets you slow down time while you're shooting, driving, or on foot. Think of Michael and Franklin's abilities from GTA 5 mixed together. Like with other Ubisoft games, there are a ton of activities to do outside the main story. You can hack cTOS towers to reveal items on your minimap (sound familiar?), take over cTOS control centers (also sound familiar?), solve crimes, complete gang hideouts and criminal convoys, hack into surveillance equipment and spy on other NPCs for a short period of time, and more. I also liked the stealth aspect of this game because instead of sneaking into a base and highlighting enemies as you infiltrate like in Far Cry 3, you can use cameras to highlight enemies, trigger noises and explosives, and generally mess around with the A.I. (go "Paranormal Activity" on them by making electrical objects go off around them). I also really liked the shooting in this game as it feels tactical compared to other open world games. Instead of going in guns blazing and shooting everything, you actually have to go behind cover and use your environment to your advantage. The driving in this game though sucks mostly due to how poor the handling is. I don't mind the arcade-y physics as it helps whenever your car crashes and trust me, you'll probably crash your car about a dozen times or more. I also DESPISED the cops in this game. They're way too accurate with their shots (I don't care about realism if it ruins the fun of a game), the helicopters are hard to get rid of unless you have the hacking skill or a grenade launcher, and since you can't shoot your gun while in a car, it can be a chore just to get away from them. There's also a lack of customization in this game as there's no gun or car customization, and the clothing options suck. There's also a reputation system if you're interested. The gameplay's fine, but its' missing some items. 7/10

    Graphics:
On max settings, the game looks good, but they seriously downgraded it from E3. I'd suggest getting "The Worse" mod if you want more from your game. 7/10

    Sound:
The sounds here are well made with the ACR gun sound probably being one of my favorite gun sounds in video games ever. The soundtrack is ok but it isn't as good as Saints Row or GTA. 7/10

    Multiplayer:
There are 6 available modes here: Online hacking and tailing which are my favorites as they create good tension for both sides, Decryption which I wasn't a fan of, races, free mode, and mobile challenges which are fine alternatives. At least the multiplayer here isn't tacked on BS for once. 7/10

Verdict: The game suffers from having too much hype and having an awful launch because of uPlay. I'd say lower your expectations and get this when the price drops.

The main character is as bland as they come. He's the usual brooding, violent and morally empty anti-hero with the personality of a turnip that Ubisoft love creating. The hacking is laughable, simply press 'X' and you're a l33t h4ck3r. And don't get me started on the driving, it's like trying to control a watermelon while juggling fine china and having rats nibbling at your genitals while going at 100 km/h.
That and the stutter makes it impossible.

No. The game is a technical mess, the story and motivation of the main character are childish and considering it was released by Ubisoft, you know it will never get fixed.
    Avoid like the bubonic plague.

Watch_dogs. A beatiful and detailed world with nothing interesting to do. The story is bad, the controls even worse, and missions lack proper design. I don't know what Ubisoft tried to pull with this one, but it wasn't anything that I liked, other than the graphics.

This game really gives up around halfway through. The missions make absolutely no sense at all and the gameplay, although fresh and interesting, really gets stale when they repeat the same mission types over and over again just with increasing difficulty. The graphics are decent but performance suffers on PC.

Sound & Music: OK, not special.
Gameplay: Perfectly functional for me. Hardly groundbreaking, but OK.
Car controls: Not good, but doable, especially with a controller. Hope they'll patch this up.

I hesitated buying Watch Dogs after the onslaught of complaints, but now that have it, I do not regret the purchase (for PC). AMD apparently has problems, so I can understand the frustrations there, and I hope this will be sorted out. My setup works without a hitch. Also, the PC version looks better than PS4, I've seen both. This is a decent game - not a great one, but certainly not the disaster some people make it to be!

Nothing like the graphics shown in E3 shows of the previous years.
Multiplayer is awesome in how many games have you been to other people's game and beat the **** out of them(This new concept is definitely a cult concept).

    Pros:
    * A LOT of work has gone into the design of "Chicago". And it's clear that there's a lot of affinity for the place; one set of collectibles is about city hotspots, that tell some story about Chicago (often involving Al Capone and other gangsters).
    * There are little things that add nothing to the gameplay, but so much more to the atmosphere. For example, somebody is playing with a football, trying to keep it up and losing it; somebody else is welding a pipe; a third guy is painting over graffiti. It makes the place much more alive, more real.
    * The puzzles are, by and large, fun. You have to try to hack something, and follow lines to where there's something you can unlock. Sometimes it's visible, sometimes you need one or more cameras. You then get treated to scene that can be fun, or disturbing, or anything in between.
    * The way you can control the world with the "hacking" is endless fun. I could spend hours watching cars crash because I hacked traffic lights.

    Cons:
    * Performance is not all there. Before the Geforce Experience set the optimal settings for my card (an ageing GTX580) it was almost unplayable, especially when driving. Now it's OK, although there's still the occasional glitch.
    * The game forces you into a certain way of playing, and that's annoying. I can very well decide for myself how I play. Case in point: gang hideouts.
    * Some (side) missions you fail time and again, especially if you don't play the way the game wants you too. There's an incredibly high annoyance factor at times, especially when you need to melee (not shoot) someone, or even three, while his mates will shoot at you, call reinforcements, and do all sorts of things to make you fail the mission.
    * Uplay. I don't want yet another pointless launcher on my PC. I've got Steam and that's all I need. I don't want to have to create an account either.
    * Server availability. In the first few days it was terrible; now it's OK. But why do I need to connect to their servers if I want to play?
    * Online elements. There's this thing called "online invasion", switched on by default, where some random player breaks into your session and steals your points. It took me three or four times before the settings understood that I really didn't want this. Helloooo! There's a reason why I play single player games: I don't WANT to play with others. But even after you switch off Online Invasion, you still get constant requests for races, hacking or whatever from other people. And this you can't switch off. Worse, you need to do some of these things in order to unlock weapons and such.

So for an open-world game, it's pretty pedantic in thinking that it knows what's best for you. And that's its major weakness, together with the sometimes nigh impossible side missions.

I found the game to be a general letdown. The story was refreshing, although dry and hard to follow. The biggest flaws aside from graphics is the Mission Design and the Game Controls. The 3rd person game-play barely functions, and vehicles feel like bumper cars on ice. I purchased the game and would like to finish it but am finding the game generally unplayable.

I absolutely refuse to support this game after the way ubisoft sold everyone on the games graphics last year, only to fail to deliver them. On top of which, it was recently discovered that the graphics for PC were limited on purpose - this is completely unacceptable, and I will not support a company that abuses its fan base so readily.

Nothing could have realistically lived up to the immense level of hype that Ubisoft stirred up for this game, and while I value strong narratives and envelope-pushing technological advancements, I place just as much importance in the ability to enjoy the gameplay that's being offered to me. Watch Dogs is one of the more exciting sandbox games of the last few years, and if this is to become Ubisoft's next big franchise, I'm excited to see where they take it.
