    I made an account just to express my overwhelming disappointment with this game. I'm glad I didn't bother preordering it, because the effect it had on my copy of Warcraft III Classic was bad enough! There are a lot of things I don't mind and actually thought were pretty cool and could breathe some new life into an old favorite--the updated home main menu including a chat lobby, portraitsI made an account just to express my overwhelming disappointment with this game. I'm glad I didn't bother preordering it, because the effect it had on my copy of Warcraft III Classic was bad enough! There are a lot of things I don't mind and actually thought were pretty cool and could breathe some new life into an old favorite--the updated home main menu including a chat lobby, portraits to unlock, countless custom games up and running, man, it was great!

    ... And then I tried to play the campaign. Nowhere to be found were the second half of the Exodus of the Horde levels despite having had them as bonus maps from The Frozen Throne. Nowhere to be found was my old clan--luckily we stay in touch via Discord or that could have been the death knell for a decades-long group of friends. Nowhere to be found was my beloved Hard-mode save file commemorating my first time beating the game on, well, Hard.

    Screw me, never mind beating the game. The game is so ridden with bugs, glitches, and general reeking incompetence, I mean absolutely lousy with them (like a late-state syphilis patient), that I can't even play the campaign on Classic anymore. Nope--I get through the two tutorial levels they so magnanimously 'allowed' me to keep, then as soon as I start playing through the Human campaign (which I have to do to unlock the other campaigns) YOINK! I get through the cutscene where Medivh attempts to warn King Terenas... only to be greeted with the defeat screen. This persists through multiple attempts at reinstall.

    This is a level of "polish" I would expect from a developer on par with Digital Homicide, or perhaps mid-2010s Ubisoft.

    Hey, Kotick? This is why your QA teams are important, you sniveling toad. Go jump off a cliff and save the rest of us from dealing with your abject ineptitude.    … Expand

    Я так долго ждал этого ремейка, но Близзард все испортили, это ужасно. Игра моего детства, пала жертвой жадности издателя и невнимания со стороны разработчика. Надеюсь до них дойдет, что так делать не надо.

I just want to play the old game that I have paid my money for and that I love.     What Blizzard did to Warcraft 3 is unacceptable.
    Not only they failed to RECREATE Warcraft 3 with better graphics, but they also ruined multilayer that was great.

    This travesty deserves all the hate it gets. I did not even buy it, but Blizzard forced me to download 30 GB of trash in an update so that i can't use the new grafics i did not even pay for. Even worse this disaster removed features of my classic Warcraft 3 that worked for 15 years.

    Such a shame to see a once beloved company become so greedy. This is representative of the entire industry, where games lack the heart and soul they once had. You don't feel the love of the developers but instead a cold, calculating brains of the management.

    I'm sad to see Blizzard go down this path as I have been a fan since the original Warcraft lll and for a long time I regarded them as one of the few trustworthy game developers - I see that time is now behind us and they're turning into a corporate machine with little regard for their fans. I hope they can turn around from this.

The landscapes on your maps have empty textures: no flowers on the grass, no stones, no stumps when the original game has it all. Trees has no shadows... Just wow, how it happened?     Missing scenes, terrible graphics. When corporations put money ahead of usability, this what you get. Even Doom got remastered, and they did a better job.

I have no idea what Blizzard were thinking to put out a highly competitive game like WC3 without a ladder. It makes no sense. Also the outrageous custom games policy! For what, merely some money from purchases? The original version should definitely remain in its state, since no rational user will accept the changes made to some mechanics like clan, chat or UMS. Абсолютно по всем фронтам взять и обдристаться с брызгами по всем возможным проектам. Причем я далеко не искушенный игрок, и часто закрываю глаза на мелочи, да даже был готов мириться с "даунгрейдом" графики, на фоне    ЗЫААА ДААЛАААРАААНН!!!111!!

    Мне бесконечно грустно это признавать, но Близзард действительно сдохла, как компания, которая делала упор на комьюнити, а не на монету    … Expand

    Newer seen remaster that is so much worse than original, even base game seems broken now. Many bugs in unit movement, path finding, sound glitches, graphic glitches, constant crashes etc. Memories of great game of 2003 are completely overwritten by this abomination. Worst thing is claisc game also is gone. Blizzard is gone as good game developers.

This reforge is a huge middle finger from Blizzard to all of the loyal fans of the franchise. Not only did they downright downgrade the game, they falsely advertised many new features which are still being advertised on the main warcraftI grew up playing the original game and playing the hundreds of custom maps ranging from DoTA, Vampire modes, Tower Defense, Footman and other great maps. This reforge is a huge middle finger from Blizzard to all of the loyal fans of the franchise. Not only did they downright downgrade the game, they falsely advertised many new features which are still being advertised on the main warcraft 3 reforged page. The new "improved graphics" are just better looking models and to be frank the old game graphics look even better than the new counterpart. The new one give off a cartoon-ish vibe and do not add to the feel of the game. There is no local game hosting, you can't rebind hotkeys, the game features missing textures on launch and many other bugs and frequent crashes and in my case the game audio would crash 50% of the time forcing me to restart the game just for the audio to work. The new voice lines sound weak and just worse than the old ones. The game menu(as one debugger found out) is laggy because it is basically a web interface running on chrome inside the game. Blizzard now owns all custom mods and maps you create and also owns the moral rights to it. They refuse to give out refunds in some cases and censor their forums and users that try to help others/ or are just looking for a way to get their refund. The game is poorly optimized running at horrible framerates and they managed to cut costs even on some secondary animations that old WC3 units had and just used a single same one. Blizzard it's time to WAKE UP and address this mess. Not to mention you made the original multiplayer unplayable.… Expand

This bug was present in the beta and it wasn't fixed before release, that on itself is pretty disappointing but it's not the worst thing about this whole fiasco.

    Apart from the game being ridden with bugs, performance issues and it being an incomplete work (there are HD skins completely absent from the game, ridiculous), the game has an instant defeat bug. Yup: AN INSTANT DEFEAT BUG. That means that the lazy *** developers had the amateurish mistake of not setting their winning condition variables right. Every amateur game dev faces that problem as soon as he starts learning and testing his own code; this is unforgiveable for a company such as Blizzard. That alone leaves you with the poorest impression of the game and a rating close to 1.
    On top of that, the company has incurred in false advertising and has sold a game that barely holds itself, without any community feature whatsoever.

    This kind of service is a disgrace and should never be repeated.    … Expand

    +30 fps on high-end PC
    +High price
    +Laggy low rez textures and unpolished landscape
    +2d animated main menu screens made by a 3rd grader
    = complete disappointment.

    If you like all of them features above then join blizz-apologist army and buy this grand designed product. You deserve it.

    Otherwise - avoid at all costs.

It was made by BLIZZARD a company that is worth US$7.5I'm one of those people that pre-purchased this game and let me tell you in not doing that for any other game no matter the publisher. I trusted Blizzard because I played their games for 15 years so I did not expect that Blizzard could release something as broken as this, they are not a indie developer nor was this game crowd funded. It was made by BLIZZARD a company that is worth US$7.5 BILLION with total assets of US$14.746 BILLION. Could you even imagine the money they would earn if they released even a half dissent game?
    By now you must be asking why am I talking about finances and where is the review?
    Well there isn't one. Due to constant crashes and in-game bugs I could not get past the prologue and can't connect to any custom game (did not expect that from a Blizzard product). The only nice thing I can say it that the new models look dissent, not great but dissent, from what little I saw before the game crashed again and again and again....
    So to sum up "My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined".    … Expand

    The game is laggy, I thought first it was only a beta problem, but no, I can't get to 144 fps even in low settings, the game often freezes or crashes it's almost unplayable for me, of course I could use the old graphics but then why did I pay for this ?

    -No more LAN.
    -No Clans
    -No Profiles
    -No Ladder
    -Where are the 3D animated campaign backgrounds ?
    -Campaign is not finished (during one of the cinematic, there is a completely black screen with just a bunch of text for like 30 seconds, no voicing, no images just a white text sitting on a black screen...)
    -Art style doesn't feel like W3 anymore, it's so off it looks like a bad Unreal Engine fan remake.
    -Blizzard game policy about customs maps/models is horrendous.
    -You can't play the classic game anymore.
    -Lobbies crashes all the time.
    -Copyrighted user created custom mods ?
    -RoC balance seems off.
    -They didn't remake all the cinematics.

    And for me the worst thing overall, is that I lost the ability to play the classic game.
    First when I bought the game, I knew that the game was full bugs, and it would be the same for the release (due the release date being so close), but I wanted to be supportive yes, I wanted to support Blizzard development. I am not impatient, I was going to wait until they bug fix the game and I had hope that they will take the time to finish it properly(adding cutscenes and the missing features) meanwhile I would have played the original.
    But no, now I can't wait and I don't want to wait because I can't play the original game, is it even leagal ? I mean, I bought RoC + TFT which is one package, and then I bought a separate game Reforged (another package) which are two separate products, and then because I bought reforged they decided that they can delete my access to the original game ? Something I payed for ? Something I OWN ? How can a compagny this big, which used to be so great, make such a bad move...

    First off, which dummkopf decided it was okay to alter the original game's functionality to require people to purchase Warcraft 3: Reforged in order to even have access to the classic version? That was what turned me off, first of all. I don't trust Blizzard as a company anymore after this and other experiences.

    You people that are in the corporate meetings to discuss the next bold move for your games. You think you're funny and clever by making people buy the game twice. You think, sitting on your pile of slowly diminishing profits and company assets, that this won't have consequences later for your company. People are going to remember this "delight" of a commercial release and will refuse to buy from anything you own or manage ever again because of experiences like this; obviously there are other complaints about the game being a giant steaming pile of dung that aren't restricted to having to buy the game twice.

    Cash cows have hooves and they're not afraid to kick the milker if the cow is being abused. This is the lesson to learn today. Start respecting the needs of your customers, start living up to your big, fancy, corporate promises, and start releasing complete, finished, functional games, or us players are going to tank your entire business one game at a time.     Extremely disappointing. I was really looking forward to this updated version of one of my favorite games. The technical issues coupled with the false promises forced me refund this game. I expect better from a Blizzard product.

    Unpolished, false promises, buggy, looks and feels unfinished. Can't revert to the old version. May as well build a computer specifically for the older version and NEVER connect to the internet. Blizzard you lost my trust. I stopped hyping about Diablo 4. I'd rather put Diablo and Diablo 2 now in a Zip compressed folder in fear for nostalgia.

When this remaster was announced with modern cut-scenes bug fixes and the like i was ecstatic. A chance to finally play one of those big childhood dream games remade for modern audiences.     The UI is ok, but the game crashes so frequently on the campaign. Blizzard has straight up lied about the in game cutscenes, they've all mostly been turned into gameplay stills, which is hardly the same.

    - Graphics (reflections, shadows, ambient, terrain are terrible, models are ok but lack of every other graphic thing excepture the textures and models wich are fine but look dead.)
    - 30hz animation, this is one of the worst things
    - Single core optimization, yeah there is no new optimization, the game run terrible too.

    The game should used the sc2 engine and make a much better wc3 and keep the wc3 TFT look the same but with new battle net things and nothing more, this would be much better for new people and normal people too, when the people look the game say meh and also feel very old because of the 30hz and the single core optimization, the game is a disaster.
    - Tons of bugs and unfinished, they delayed the launch but ????

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
