    Broken promises and lots of shady corporation techniques. Instead of making a good remaster, they tried to revamp the whole thing however they ruined everything and forced players to play what they want, instead of giving us choice.

    It used to be better, I was very disappointed in the new version. I don't like localization, I don't like recycled characters. The game wasn’t improved in any way, just wrapped in a beautiful wrapper

    They have totally broken this game. Graphics are now worst than the original. They remove some options, no more ladder, or mods. And worst of all, you can't even play the original...
    Most epic fail of all time, they make you pay for a downgrade, and make the original game pure ****

While they are all serious and valid concerns, I'd like to share some of the things that were added/modified with WC III: Reforged.

While they are all serious and valid concerns, I'd like to share some of the things that were added/modified with WC III: Reforged.

    Most cut-scenes have indeed been modified, often featuring additional units, rearrangements of the terrain and camera alignments.
    These changes are mostly beneficial in highlighting the reworked buildings, character models and their animations.
    Unfortunately, not every cut-scene has received the same level of attention and polish, resulting in a loss of background action, coherency and some cute little extras along the way.

    The cinematics from the original game have now been re-rendered in high resolution. With the intro, "The Prophecy" being completely reworked.
    Despite being 18 years old, the cinematics now look just as stunning as I remember them from the early blizzard days.

    On a rather sad note, they decided to create a entirely new cinematic for the final fight of Arthas vs. Illidan.
    This fight, previously being one of the most gorgeous cutscenes of the entire game, has now turned into what looks like a badly animated 3D kids show.

    An incredible amount of effort went into recreating every single graphical asset for the game, and let's be real: in a vacuum, they look amazing.
    Especially the known heroes from the Warcraft Universe have received much attention in their redesign.
    Playing the game however shows that the models weren't engineered to be playable at all, and as a result, the battles in-game feel like a mess rather than an epic war.
    It's a shame that these new models completely lack the charm of the original installment, as is mostly evident in each characters avatar frame.

    It feels as if all of the changes that come with WC3: Reforged have sucked out the life from the original title, which ironically further plays into the accusations that "Blizzard has killed Warcraft III".
    Experiencing the campaign with the reworked graphics has generally left a good impression on me, although most of it comes from the solid foundation it is built on.

    Without many signs of competent art direction, developers and polish from Blizzard's side that we have come to expect from this company, the added features of this game are simply not worth the demanded price.
    Factoring in all the ways that this release has screwed over veteran WC3 fans, I give this game a solid 2 / 10.    … Expand

    This is by far the laziest and ugliest remake I’ve ever seen. The original was a great game. It could compete with the best. But this is nothing like the original. So many promises were broken. In the early 2000’s it was completely understandable for characters to be the size of buildings and trees. It was completely fine the way they moved and talked. The cutscenes were ok too. And Then there’s the fact dat the original game is practically unplayable since this release. Many functions of Reforged don’t even work. I am really disappointed with this game and with Blizzard and Activision. It really hurts me to see what has become of Blizzard. I played their games with much love because of their amazing atmosphere and eye for detail. But not this turd. Blizzard has been falling apart for years, but this is a new all time low.     I have never bought Reforged. What I have bought is the original Warcraft to play with my buddy online about a year ago cause the only option was to get both the original and this one. Little did I know that I'll actually lose the original one upon Reforged release.
    The game itself probably deserves more than a zero, so I'll change my vote once I get the original Warcraft 3 back.

    Warcraft III reforged was advertised, to be a great remaster with upgrades in many areas but was just a poor execution game that cost over 30$

    The only good thing is that Blizzard decided to refund those who want to return the product.

    Ce jeu est une blague de bien mauvais gout et un peu chère, comment peut-on réussir à faire un remake d'un jeu moins bien que l'original... Entre pub mensongère (Cinématique remastérisée absent du jeu), jeu instable avec des latences et lags et la suppression de certaines fonctionnalités du jeu original ... je ne vois pas comment on peut mettre une bonne note à ce jeu actuellement.     Even that I don't mind the non-implementation of promised features, I can't accept all the bugs. The game is extremely buggy. Skyrim was also buggy but at least the gameplay experience was amazing.

    To all the **** that keep saying "what's the big deal", well , how about my classic warcraft game that I have been playing since 2007 being ruined by Greedzard and forcing on us this **** version even though we didn't wan't anything with it ? **** UI is ugly, game menu is ugly, everything is so **** now.
    Thank you greedzard for ****ing up a game i played for the bigger chunk of my life.

    It's so sad. Blizzard want to make money, not make good games. I don't know what we see on BlizzCon 2020, because they simply have nothing to show, and if they show it, it will most likely turn out to be not what the players will expect. Shame on you Activision Blizzard.

No matter what you say, you can't ever defend at all since there have been games that were remastered way better than reforged: Age of Empire, Halo, Homeworld, and even Starcraft. Do you think Warcraft III is more difficult to remaster than other RTS games? Does Blizzard have limited number of designers and resources like Age of Empire? (They only had 51) Stop defending Blizzard. It is just so obvious that they did not spend enough time and resource for remastering the game. I have been also a fan since 1998 but you guys who defend Blizzard on this are just completely blind. I remember paying less than 20 dollars for buying remastered Age of Empire II that had crazy amount of contents(dubbed voices, new campaigns and civilizations, etc) How much Blizzard is charging you to buy the reforged? Does the reforged have anything better than the other cheaper remastered game? The answer is no. Oh, and by the way. For people who think outsourced company ruined the game(Lemon Sky Studios), Lemon Sky had been doing another awesome job of remastering Command and Conquer series. So I'm just saying. You fans who blindly defending Blizzard on this remastered Warcraft III, just be quiet since you guys don't know what the hell you are talking about.     Even after patch 1.32.1 where this should have been adressed I still dont get credited for my campaign wins. It either starts over on the same mission or just freezes in loading. Greatly anticipated but unfortunately impossible to play in both multiplayer and singelplayer... The biggest letdown of loooong time ;(

    The game is fantastic and a well thought out remastering of the classic. You can play in either reforged mode(best) or in classic mode. it's as simple as a switch in the options screen. new graphics and animations are great.     - Character avatars look very scary - Arthas' voice acting is terrible - Worst of all, scenes on the engine (not cinematic) are worse than in the previous version of the game, very cheap, boring, bad - Even if you decide not to animate the scenes completely, you don’t even change the viewing    This version has a lot of problems, I’ll list what hit me the most

    I play warcraft 3 from the beginning and I was delighted with this redesign but my god, it's a disaster, the menu that heats up my processor, repeated multi-planting etc ... all this for 30 $ c ' is a real shame

    Reforged butchered the classic Warcraft and made it unplayable without pirating it or keeping a backup before updating. My disappointment is immeasurable and my childhood is ruined.

    Downgraded broken game. IGN gave this a 7 out of ten. If ign ever praise a game you know something is up. Don’t waste your time with this game. Sad since the original Warcraft game was amazing.

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
