    Listen, Blizzard. This wasn't a difficult one. Everyone loves Warcraft.
    All you had to do was try... put some people on the project that have a passion for the original game.

    But you cut back funding, outsourced it & removed the original game.
    Good job. Not even an inbred troglodyte could've ruined something this badly.

    Game doesn’t even come close to what they promised on blizzcon 2018, they promised almost a new game, with tons of added cinematics and fully upgraded graphics but actually it’s just a bunch revamped character models, I barely see any difference between old 2002 and the new reforged terrain, new models become awkward sitting on top of the old 2002 graphics, it feels like just a half-done job to grab some money since they are charging almost what a new game nowadays cost. If it were just for that, but no, they also killed the modding community, responsible for the success of the old game with games like DotA, Tower Defenses and other thousands of mods that people only bought the game to play them. They imposed intellectual property over any mod made using their platform, so they could milk more any players that is doing something to make the game better.. a Along with that, they removed some features from the old game and forced the old client to update to a “reforged lite” version of this, killing the joy from from those still playing the original Reign of Chaos and The Frozen thrne Collapse    … Expand

    The game is really choppy while playing, the game wasn't as advertised with the cut scenes and more content. It's sad that they removed the Classic launcher for this piece of garbage they called a "remastered".

    Terrible game fake advertising at blizzcon 2018 pre ordered the open beta it ran terribly but thought it's just a beta should be ok at launch and it launched easy just as bad played 1 mission and refunded the game

    I specifically made an account just to write this review. I am shocked and appalled by some of the decisions Activision-Blizzard made and the lack of foresight as to their consequences. Deleting the fully functional old client and replacing it with the new client is not tolerable.

    I will just name what the biggest disappointments for me are:
    -ladder has connection issues (cant find a match sometimes)
    -no stats page for wins /losses (in a highly competitive game, seriously???)
    -old character portraits are gone (you played 1000 games just to have that nice portrait? guess what it's gone now)
    -interface is not intuitive and laggy (why change the old one ?)
    -Removal of LAN (wc3 was THE game that was played at LAN parties, which i grew up with. I will never be able to go back to those memories)
    -custom games are not working (really bad ping or disconnect in lobby)
    -friends of mine can't even start the game
    -no Quality of Life improvements to the UI (like Control Groups or hero lvls and item overlays. Commonly used by war3 streamers)
    -no QoL improvements to Observer or Replay UI (like in SC2)
    -no Hotkey Editor ingame
    -other QoL features missing for custom games ( Custom games stats (implemented in SC2), or maybe a feature to restart a custom game (it took 40mins to get a full lobby in wc3 and then the game only took 20 minutes so a quick restart button would have been very nice)
    -no Introduction to Competitive 1v1 play (In SC2 there is a complete training course which teaches you the fundamentals of sc2. I have some friends which would really learn at least the basics of wc3 and start laddering now with the release . Unfortunately they are new to the game. How are they expected to learn?)

    Conclusion:
    if Activision-Blizzard at the very least doesn't rerelease the classic client the warcraft 3 community will have a really hard time to hold on. Maybe reforged singleplayer is really nice, i dont really care. However, it speaks volumes that War3 RoC (from 18 years ago!) provided a better multiplayer experience.    … Expand

    I didn't buy this game but I still feel like I can review it due to the fact that the release of Reforged automatically applied changes to the non-Reforged Warcraft 3 client to literally remove features and also force you to use the new menus, which are both less nostalgic and actually worse looking stylistically despite the higher fidelity.

    I am upset about this game. I mainly played for the custom game scene and the custom campaigns(don't exist anymore). The EULA is joke, flash doesn't own my games and solidworks doesn't own my models. And banning the ability to add perks to donors is stupid, donations from working on maps was nothing it just gave the push/feeling of obligation to fix/improve stuff.     Couldn't play the campaign, too choppy, broke immersion. Constant boots. Unfinished graphics in 2020. Maybe they just looked unrendered because the framerate anytime I could play was so low. Don't know, don't care. Got my refund.

Triste que a empresa que mais amava e considerava alta qualidade ter se transformado nisso. Faz uns 5 anos que tem so trazido decepção mas agora esse game acabou com tudo que eu amava nela.

    I was unable to "link" my old account because if you have not played for +3 months then all the stats are gone, nobody ever told me back that after playing it day in and day out for 4 years and having a "shadow hunter" picture of 750 + wins, lost every thing same applies for my friend that had 1500+ wins (Illidan picture) all gone because we didn't "come" online anymore and now we can LINK it but we CANNOT any more because we did not play for a long time and suddenly we could "link" it WHO can link it ? almost nobody of the old players base since all did not play for less then 3 months ago....

    I am really unhappy about the current game state and i never write reviews but this is really needed blizzard sucks and me and my friends won't preorder their **** any more, all they think about is $$$ they are the new EA    … Expand

    Sadly, I didn't even know W3R was out. I looked at all of it and this saddens me. Warcraft was my childhood and it made me fell in love with Knights. I love the new models to some degree but everything is just broken. Like my broken heart for this game, please at least fix it.

At least give us back our original game and stop running it on your useless garbage new engine... and why are you retroactively removing my shadows?     Poor attempt to enhance a beloved classic. New models and animations lack charm and style. Other “improvements” and bugs are damaging to both the old and new W3. Also, Bliizard owns all player made maps. Shame on you, Blizzard.

    C'est juste incroyable de déni de blizzard pour qui nous en demandons trop. Ce n'est pas normal de faire rêver les joueurs avec des fausses informations. Et un jeu non fini avec des images de développeurs (wtf ???) dans le jeu. Sans parler des options en moins....

    I remember WAR 3 with great, addictional interface, where you could see everyones LEVEL, everyones portrait and winratio, stats. You could be SOLO master, or do it other way in team games. But you still could build some respect and fight for something. Now its NOTHING to do.     The game itself is exactly like WC3 with different models. I do not want to say better or improved models as I find them kind a downgraded. It's nowhere near today's standards as they feel like from 2012. Animation of these models is almost nonexistent as original WC3 models had for some reason more life in them.     Well this has been a giant disappointment as most remakes/new games from big gaming companies that are now just trying to get easy money from fans and not even trying to make a proper remake or anything. i am baffled how can any company **** up a old game so much.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Blizzard is ready to be buried. I played Warcraft 2 Tides of Darkness back in the days of having to use a dial up modem to play with my best friend. With and without cheats. The mighty have fallen.

    What can I say that others haven't already.

    - Lack of ANY empathy from Blizzard brass.
    - Total disregard for false advertising laws.
    - Blatantly banning people asking for a legitimate refund.
    - Breaking the old game.

    I am so unbelievably angry. I wouldn't have minded as much if I could still play the original warcraft 3 games that i payed for. Turns out I can never play the originals again because blizzard merged reforged with the originals. Now i never have access to them again. Up yours blizzard. Also this version lacks a tremendous amount of features.

No ladder or tournaments, so that is a downgrade. Thanks to no ladder you will spend 15 minutes building up a base and army then players will randomly quit.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. War III reforged feels like an alpha version of the 90's, but we don't have the 90's and its not supposed to be an alpha version.

    Some reasons why this game starts to be annoying after 1 day playtime:
    - This game is very sluggish, every use of menu buttons or switching to a different UI takes a while, it is not very responsive and doesn't motivate to use or to switch to often. It feels heavy, heavy to navigate, heavy to use.
    - The menu and chat functions appeal often out of place, they are not well designed, they rather look like randomly embedded, and sometimes overlap each other.
    - Also the user has to click far to much to join, to change something or to leave the game, then it was necessary originally. Having no UI for Hotkeys is also not acceptable nowadays.
    - Warcraft III reforged has gameplaywise 2 big issues, for once: the usage of bad servers, and second: the requirement of having a very good gaming PC. Therefore the performance in general is mostly sluggish up to very bad. Custom maps start to lag as soon as there are some more mobs in sight, even 17 years ago the performance was a lot better then the reforged version now; but with reforged I would have expected some improvements, especially with all those modern powerful hardware, and not some worsening. I don't think it is a good game design to require such a high gaming hardware for a game little and old as this. And when custom maps are started, the server are randomly chosen by the game, sometimes acceptable, sometime the server are not even from the same continent with terrible ping and performance for everyone.
    -I tried a Dota map, and it was the most awful experience I ever had with a Dota map.

    My summery:
    This game is hardly playable, sluggish, featureless (I didn't mention them above, but a lot of important things are completely missing in reforged), and most (99%) of the custom maps ever created are not working with reforged, and those which work, look worse then 17y ago and are sluggish like hell.

    This game is Not recommendable, everyone who bought the game should claim a refund, possible via Support on Blizzards Website.    … Expand

    I'm only reviewing this game because it FORCED DOWNLOADED itself WITHOUT CONSENT and removed my WC3 classic installation and play through experience. A couple days back I noticed 'WC3 Reforged' was downloading updates through the battlenet client, so I canceled and removed the 30GB ongoing install not thinking too much about it. A day later, I go to play WC3 classic, and suprise suprise,I'm only reviewing this game because it FORCED DOWNLOADED itself WITHOUT CONSENT and removed my WC3 classic installation and play through experience. A couple days back I noticed 'WC3 Reforged' was downloading updates through the battlenet client, so I canceled and removed the 30GB ongoing install not thinking too much about it. A day later, I go to play WC3 classic, and suprise suprise, it's nowhere to be found! This game gets a 0 because it acted as malware by installing a 30GB update without my consent, and then deleting my WC3 classic installation and local save files.… Expand

    Сделайте нормальную графику, еще на бэте было понятно, что графика хуже чем в оригинале, спасибо поиграл... Покупать еще на бэте не видел смысла, если бы графика была хотя бы на уровне, то купил бы и играл, а так даже задумываться об этом нет желания... Была надежда, что после беты что то поменяется, но лучше играть в оригинал, нежели чем в это...Сделайте нормальную графику, еще на бэте было понятно, что графика хуже чем в оригинале, спасибо поиграл...     They destroyed everything that meant Warcraft 3 lore and gameplay. They promised so many things and they didn't deliver not even 1% of what they promised.
    No one should buy this game and give Activision money and should wait for the game to be cracked and play it like that.

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
