    Its truly sad to see such a grand legacy being spat upon, but this game fails to meet the standards of the original, let alone surpass them. Blizzard, just stop making games, if you're not going to put the effort in to really make something special, then just stop.

    My score for this game is 0, allow me to give proper context as to why this scam of a "game" deserves so little in my eyes.

    Let's start with the game's nature: a remaster. If it was a remaster that's just the base game with revamped graphic, it'd be between 5 and 7 (depending on the graphic quality). Changes that enhance the game and changes that make the experience worse decide the    My score for this game is 0, allow me to give proper context as to why this scam of a "game" deserves so little in my eyes.

    Let's start with the game's nature: a remaster. If it was a remaster that's just the base game with revamped graphic, it'd be between 5 and 7 (depending on the graphic quality). Changes that enhance the game and changes that make the experience worse decide the rest...and, oh boy, this game has taken a turn for the worse.

    Pros are few and minor (like the graphics).

    Cons:

    -The graphics while being a huge improvement on the original are still dated compared to graphics from games from 2020 and 2019. They look more like the graphic quality that Heroes of the Storm has, rather than Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls or more recent games like Walcen (that came out just a month later from a much smaller studio).

    -The UI, has not received enough attention and many people would've liked it to be more optimized insted of being clutteredconfusing.

    -The animations. Having a release for PC with 30 FPS animations is unacceptable, especially since the new graphic (while dated still) allows to see how choppy some of the animations look.

    -Bugs, the game is still riddled with many bugs and Blizzard itself had to issue a statement on the forums that the game will receive more polish in the upcoming months...this is incredibly unacceptable since this game (even more since it's a remaster of a game that is almost 20yo) should've been functional (maybe with just some minor bugs) at day 1. I guess, we can't expect this level of quality anymore from AAA companies with billions on their hands.

    -Re-Used Units, some of the units have just been copy-pasted with minor changes. An example would be the model for the Male Death Knight which is clearly Arthas's model.

    -Less functionsmodes than the original, the original game had a plethora of modes that allowed it to shine, especially in multiplayer. Many of those modes were created by a dedicated community of modders who created lots of fun modes and maps (with the more prominent being the one that spawned what would become DOTA 2, starting the MOBA genre).

    -Incredible Restrictions over created content, with the inability to use 3rd party IP inspired assets which makes creating maps, mods and modes very limited being usable only the assets approved by Blizzard or assets who are completely unique created by the modders.

    And now, the 4 Most Unforgivable Cons that this game has, because being them part of the TOS or the behaviour of the company towards the players make them part of the overall experience with the game and its possessions, which are:

    - The Lies, for weeks Blizzard still had on this game's website, videos depicting the cutscene for Blizzcon 2018, depicting the beginning of the mission "The Culling of Stratholme", that was done in a completely different way to the final released product. This goes well with the intentional (until proven otherwise) lack of clarity of Blizzard about how much the game was downgraded compared to what was presented and what came to be expected back from that Blizzcon, until several days from the game's launch which was the usual - I'm paraphrasing - "We thought of making the game like the Blizzcon, then we decided to make the game the closest possible experience to the original" which was done by downgrading the cutscenes and downgrading other features that were better even in the original.

    -Customer Support, for days Blizzard kept denying customers the right to refund their games, even though they were from countries were the laws allowed them to have said refunds without clarifying what was that made them unable to get the refund in the first place. There were examples of an Australian player who played the game for bit and whose refund application was turned down because he had played the game for an unspecified amount of hours without the assistant checking his refund, at any point, disclosing what was the minimum amount of hours to get the refund.
    At the same time, others that purchased the games but didn't even play it were also denied refunds. In the meantime, players that were explaining the refund procedures to others were banned for no reason. This trend kept going until there were rumors of lawyers being involved from which, all of a sudden, everybody was able to get a refund. What a coincidence!

    -The treatment of modders in the game's initial agreement. I've never seen a contract claiming that every content you -modder- create in it is not only intellectually and automatically Blizzard's property to lucrate on it as much as they want to but also MORALLY theirs, which means you don't even get to be mentioned as to original creator besides not getting any compensation...just WOW!

    -Last but not least, the fact that these downgrades were unilaterally carried also into the original game. Never seen a bad remaster also ruin the original game, like no more shadows.    … Expand

    I looked forward to this game introducing a massive new player base to WC3 multiplayer. This new version has THE WORST matchmaking I have ever seen in a game; and with no levels or ranks, new players are consistently matched against pros and every match feels like a roll of the dice with no strategy or reaction mattering at all.     Le gameplay est vraiment cool, je suis fan de l’univers depuis que l’original est sorti. Sincèrement, l’original est bcp mieux et a plus de contenu que reforged. Je suis complètement déçu du travail fait pour ce remake.

    I paid $60 for the deluxe package expecting the "re-imagined and high definition graphics" that it was advertised as, but it turned out to be (after the latest updates to the original game) identical apart from slightly higher DPI zoom. If it was $10-20 i think it would be more reasonable to be sold as a HD DLC but not as a $40-60 stand alone game.

    Actual trash. Why waste your time. I couldn't believe that they would really require you to download this instead of being able to enjoy the classic Warcraft 3. They had to release this and ruin what was an incredible experience back in the day. Just spitting on its now grave

    I personally expected that Blizzard would make a sharp processing of the graphon from 2002-2004, all the more so as we all loved Warcraft. But no, they completely crap with their resources, gave them for revision to Lemon Sky Studios in Malaysia, and they also did not give all the best. It is simply unforgivable.     The ONLY thing you needed to do is : 1. Prevent map hackers 2. System to prevent Team Killers to play with others 3. A proper ladder basically a copy of starcraft2 ladder. that is all we ever wanted. Nobody cares, ok nobody cares about your graphic designers new shoulder pads ...     I'm not giving my appreciation for the original game, but for the Reforged version only. Well it would be a nice free upgrade, but for that kind of money, it sucks quite a lot. Bugs, crash missing features and so on.

    Game doesn’t even come close to what they promised on blizzcon 2018, they promised almost a new game, with tons of added cinematics and fully upgraded graphics but actually it’s just a bunch revamped character models, I barely see any difference between old 2002 and the new reforged terrain, new models become awkward sitting on top of the old 2002 graphics, it feels like just a half-done…Game doesn’t even come close to what they promised on blizzcon 2018, they promised almost a new game, with tons of added cinematics and fully upgraded graphics but actually it’s just a bunch revamped character models, I barely see any difference between old 2002 and the new reforged terrain, new models become awkward sitting on top of the old 2002 graphics, it feels like just a half-done… Expand… Expand

    Was happily playing TFT over LAN with my kids on my Surface Pro at home. Never bought the Reforged version. But I can no longer do that because when I start my TFT it tries to download the new Reforged client and my surface pro run out of disk space. The original TFT client is only 2 GB and I bought them for $99 over a decade ago. I know is it a long time but it does not mean BlizzardWas happily playing TFT over LAN with my kids on my Surface Pro at home. Never bought the Reforged version. But I can no longer do that because when I start my TFT it tries to download the new Reforged client and my surface pro run out of disk space. The original TFT client is only 2 GB and I bought them for $99 over a decade ago. I know is it a long time but it does not mean Blizzard should take it away from users.… Expand

    Perfect example of how a company's greed can ruin a beloved classic. Blizzard missed the mark completely with this one, and broke numerous promises they made in promotional materials and at conventions. Save your money for now, and hopefully at some point Blizzard will update this game to a point where it even comes close to delivering on what was promised.

    This game has complete "False Advertising" with cutscenes completely removed from what was shown at Blizzcon 2018. Consistent bugs throughout the game while features that have either been removed or missing.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is an absolutely an amazing nostalgia trip for me, unlike WoW classic which immediately bored the crap out of me after 5 minutes.

    Music is improved, visuals, cinematics, etc. This is exactly what I expected and it was delivered.

    On the 3rd missions in the campaign and already addicted just as I was when the game originally released. You know you have another gem when you can't turn off the game even after mythic/LFR Ny'alotha come out on the same day! Way to go Blizz!!!! Now all we can hope for is Warcraft 4 and a great new storyline. I CANNOT wait to get to the frozen throne expansion already!!!!! Almost 70 missions of single player content and can't wait to try some multiplayer after I'm done with the campaign. This is awesome. NO ONE does RTS like Blizzard.    … Expand

The graphical changes were outsourced and seem out of place, for example arthas as a death knight looks like a drunk. This means that the game failed as a remake and furthermore, it destroyed and scrapped many features that the originial game had. This is a downgrade were Blizzard were every aspect isTheres not much new to say.. This reforge of warcraft 3 fails in every aspect. The EULA changed so that blizzard can steal map-makers ideas (blizzard mad about DOTA) and the game is a bug ridden unplayable mess for many people. Blizzard have lost it completely and i find the sheer audacity of treating one of the most iconic games they made this poorly is proof of this sad fact. This game deserves nothing more than 0 as its a downgrade (costing 30 bucks) of a game from 2003. Do NOT listen to the critics giving it 60 or more, nor the fanboys defending it. This game is an absolute zero and it would without a doubt be better if it werent made at all.… Expand

    Por cierto, no lo adquiri porque planeaba comprarlo al dia, pero al verlo en accion me tire para atras.

    Activision/Blizzard lo ha vuelto a hacer, no me sorprende que estemos a estas alturas con la mierda hasta el cuello. Les deseo lo peor y que en paz descanse la vieja Blizzard. Suerte con el juego, yo hasta aqui llego.

    Hero dialogues in Mandarin Chinese are full of bugs. Sometimes words are random and overlapping and make funny nonsense jokes translated into English like Mal'ganis says I don't want a dick and Jaina calls Thrall a dumbass.
    I felt like my childhood best game is ruined thanks to Reforge. Zero points must be given.

    Didn't even buy the game and it damaged the screen of my Mac. Also didn't fix any of the bugs on the original and had to remove it to stop spreading more damage. Makes me so sad to say this but this is officially my last straw with blizzard

And the "reforged" art work is horribly designed with 0 intention of the "Game" aspect in mind. You cannot differentiate between the units, the buildings, or even find the units on the terrain. And of course, they take, the relatively bug free,I rather play classic Warcraft 3 TFT than this garbage. The game is so buggy, you constantly get players including myself dropped from game. And the "reforged" art work is horribly designed with 0 intention of the "Game" aspect in mind. You cannot differentiate between the units, the buildings, or even find the units on the terrain. More restrictive ToS is implemented to make sure nobody has motivation to be creative anymore, features stripped away left and right for literally no reason, game is somehow less optimized than the original, none of the updated visuals look well together, many things in this game fall into the uncanny valley. The original was deleted so that an arguably inferior clone in literally every way could be issued out. Waste of money.… Expand

    The pure, unadulterated measures aimed at using players like a resource to be strip-mined, rather than provide them with entertainment, are in full-swing here. Activision's corporate philosophy has spread more corrupting tendrils into the Blizzard side of things than Yogg-Saron. A 2020 remake of a 2002 game that looks like something made in China from 2010.

    What a utter disgrace! I was so hyped for this game. I absolutely loved playing the original back in the days. I was also a long time player of World of Warcraft and I even read the books.     Not only does the new graphics look significantly worse and make it harder to make out what is happening they also somehow managed to break the old game. So even if you do not buy this game you will still suffer from it as they removed the old BNet and force you to merge your old installation of Warcraft 3 with the new Reforged version.

    Blizzard lied with the cutscene stuff, the 1080p graphics, the character models, really anything. This game was blizzard stealing money from me with false promises.

    A huge disappointment. I was forgiving of a lot of the initial issues, but finally gave up trying to play it due to the bugs, crashes, freezes, etc. Got a refund. Don't get this game.

    After refunding it, Blizzard sent the money to the Visa I used to pre-order the game. But unfortunately, that account was closed. I repeatedly contacted them trying to get my money back, but they told me that it was out of control. I ended up having to go to the bank I used to be with, explaining the situation.     This is worse than MoP and WoD combined, whomever thought about "Reforging" the game was an imbecile.

    The Old client (Game) had like 1.7 gb with some maps at almost 3 gb with my most favorite maps. And in between it had like 2.5 gb. The New client (game) has roughly 30gb of nothingness with 0 new improvements and NO **** NEW CUTSCENE.     Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
