    Played a few custom games, works well enough but nothing seems to have changed. Went to play the campaign and I couldn't continue past the second level. Kept Crashing. Went to get a refund and the customer service was rude pricks about it. Blizzard are just a **** shell of their former self.

    This is not the same company it used to be. Just very very sad. Blizzard needs to stop treating their playerbase and fans like this. It's morally corrupt what they've done not just with the custom games but also removing features and not giving what was shown and promised. They blatantly and unabashedly lied to all of us and its absolutely disgusting.

    What Blizzard made with Wacraft 3: Reforge is beyond tolerance. They removed already bought Warcraft 3, now you need to download 20+GB, look at simpler 2D menu and other things. They completely removed classic version. Now it's a Classic mode in this awful Reforged abomination.
    Remade cinematics were a complete scam. Just a lie for preorders. After mobile Diablo, ultimate monetization of    What Blizzard made with Wacraft 3: Reforge is beyond tolerance.     I bought it, played it and promptly returned it after seeing that it's just a $30 graphics mod that plays far worse than the original release. Save your money.

Again look this up for yourself. They latter back-pedalled but it was to late. This is already the lowest rated game on Metacritic. Blizzard please don't become the next EA.     I pre-ordered this when it was first announced. No idea how this game could of possibly been delayed so long, because the results are awful. Luckily I was able to get a refund.

    The optimization is horrible, with laggy menus (probably because it's a chrome web app, I'm serious....), the new UI is a nightmare, the intro cinematic made me think I was having a stroke it was so choppy, most of the updated visuals look like garbage, including basically no diversity in their ground templates, and spells that look like someone gave up half way though making them (Bladestorm......).

    The soul of blizzard finally died when Mike Morhaime left. And this game is all the proof we need of that.    … Expand

    - New models are nice but don't fit with their surroundings (Cartoony terrain & buildings vs dark and gritty models)
    - Colouring in the game has been changed, much darker and harder to focus on.
    - Feels as if I'm playing the 2002 version, extremely hard to notice changes apart from the new models.
    - Sound seems the same, nothing improved? no new soundtracks, etc.
    - Copyright issues with lots of Custom Maps (Blizzard own all user-created custom maps and won't support anything that could lead to a copyright claim)
    - Camera Zoom still capped extremely close to the screen.
    - High $30-40 price compared to other 'Remasters & Definitive Edition' games also on the market which clearly had a lot more work put into them.
    - Terrain detail actually seems worse despite being higher resolution, when you compare the old WC3 terrain next to WC3:RF, the terrain in the old WC3 has a lot more detail. WC3:RF terraiin is very smooth and lacking detail.
    - Character Animations: This links to the cut-scenes again, the characters interact with one another like mannequins - mostly it's just the head that moves left and right, they look so stiff and awkward.

    • Summary:

    From someone who plays a lot of remasters (Final Fantasy, Age of Empires, Commandos, Company of Heroes, Resident Evil & more) I can safely say that this was a extremely lazy remaster by Blizzard, there simply wasn't enough passion or skill that went into this remaster, it literally feels like a cash-grab (and an expensive one at that)

    Since the new models in-game were produced by Lemon Sky Studios and this is really the only key improvement shown in WC3:RF, it makes you think - what exactly did I pay Blizzard $30-40 for? Surely I should of just paid Lemon Sky directly.

    WC3:RF is not a bad game since it's literally just 2002 WC3, the reviews are so low because of broken promises and expectations being shattered, this is just a really lazy remaster of a game.

    • Final Conclusion:

    I expected more. I always have high expectations for Blizzard but sadly after this, I will never have high expectations again. I've lost complete faith in Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 now as well.

    If you are looking for some excellent examples of what a good Remaster/Reforge/Definitive Edition should be - look to Microsoft and the Age of Empires series, they are owning that. They have done magnificent jobs and improvements across the board of both AOE1:DE and AOE2:DE. Then you compare the level of work that went into those Definitive Editions and you look at WC3:Reforged and you just feel completely let down by the level of work that did not go into Reforged.

    If you have never played WC3 then sure pick up Reforged and I'm sure you'll have a good time with it (but) it does feel extremely dated still, it does not feel like a 2020 game. It feels as if you're still playing the 2002 game    … Expand

You can't recognise them, also you often can't connect to the game 1x1. Even load replay function disapears... The main function on competitive games right now, makes a tons of troubles(without bnet, bnet bring much more horrible user expirience).

    And thank God I never paid a single cent, because this hame is almost as much of a fail if not equally bad as the notorious game release of No Man's Sky.     Remaster of games that actually removes things instead of adding them. I never give 0 but this one is well deserved as it is insane cash grab. LAN play removed. Do I have to say more? It is downgrade to good old game as original WC3 was basically removed. If you do not have reforged menu is grey which is clear split into my face from Lulzzard.

    While the game itself does not deserve a 0, I'll still give it this score because of everything Blizzard has done, and the way they've acted. It pains me that one of my favorite game of all time has such low rating, but I can only agree with the majority that Blizzard deserve all of this.

    Worst cash grab! And moreover they DESTROYED an original game! It became an abomination! 29.5 gb client instead of 3. No more old battle.net. Ugly reforged 2d menu instead of original 3d. Beautiful campaign selection 3d scenes were removed! No more LAN option. No more old localization available. And the main menu is Chroumium based browser! How is that even possible?

Warcraft 3 is a beloved masterpiece that holds a special place in my heart. It's near and dear to me just like my copy of Diablo 2 because it was made by a different company than Activision/Blizzard.     - Missing Game modes - Restricted Custom options - No Ladder - Bugs! Crashing and FPS performance problems - The artwork is beautiful,    I've been playing Blizzard games for 25 years. Launch day comes and I remembered that this isnt the same blizzard we had when this game came out. I played roughly 2 hours of this broken mess. And decided enough was enough, time to go back to the OG Warcraft. They merged the two games so thatI have played warcraft 3 since its original launch date, so naturally, I was giddy with excitement when I heard that it was getting a remaster.     I have to say this game is a complete disaster. They managed to ruin everything that made Warcraft 3 great. All their promisses weren't fullfilled either, such as new cinematics and custscenes. Avoid this game like the plague.

    The custom games that I would have loved to have played this game for, and also to have spent hours creating some, would have apparently only been food for the bottomless mouth of greed which Blizzard insists on aggressively enforcing upon their paying customers regardless if that would wipe away any, or all of their human rights.

    In the real world, if you create something, if you put something together yourself (outside of your contractual work) you own it because... you are the one who created it. This right apparently shall no longer be of value as it seems even the title you put on your custom game shall not be something you own as soon as you submit it in the game you payed to play.

    Cool Blizzard, when can I expect my next salary?

    2. Numerous bugs and false promises that others have been mentioning all along.

    I could honestly begin to start putting effort into understanding and somewhat accepting SOME of your beyond scummy aggressive new TOS rules if the game was flawless, polished and with a ton of features. But when you present us with a broken, low-effort mess and disgusting TOS like that on top of it, how could anyone in their right mind participate in this and be happy about it?

    Great job of putting your most loyal, long-time customers into a position to either miss out on their nostalgia-driven passion or be a part of some of the worst examples of awful, shameless and greedy industry problems.    … Expand

    I didn't bought this **** but they ruined the classic version of WarCraft 3. Not working in local games, not working the campaign, can't create and join to the custom games (rip classic dota).

    I hope this company will face massive layoffs and a complete reorganization of the management team.

    Warcraft II & III were some of my favorite games growing up. I was worried that blizzard wasn't going to be able to deliver and boy did they even do worse than I could have ever possibly imagined. They say gamers are hyperbolic... Well maybe they are! All this game did was make me want to play the original. And blizzard took that away from us too. Why blizzard? Why?

    The fact that you killed the original game and bnet to launch a half ass baked trash remake is beyond my understanding. This is the most disgusting and insulting thing i have ever seen a game company do to its core players. People deserve a flawless experiance becuase of their loyalty and love for the warcraft universe as a whole. This betrayal will be the start of your downfall Blizzard.

    As Arthas once say: "This entire company must be purged." Never agreed with this character, but i want to do it now.
    To be honest it is not like "didn't see that coming". Blizzard is changed long time ago and not to the good side. Just don't mistaken, those zero's scores are not from minds of hate, but from hearts of love.... whom feeling broken, scammed and betrayed.

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
