    False advertising of new cutscenes, graphics even worse than the original version, preventing players from playing original game (even those who didn't buy it)... In other words: a real slaughter made by Blizzard.

    It's a worse version of the original game. I remember as a kid waiting for a blizzard game to come out, and not caring how long it took, because I knew when it did launch it would be a polished work of art. This game.... this was something EA would release. You know what.... EA does a better job than this.

    The game models and thick fonts look like they beling to a mobile game. I dont play mobile mobile games but I get the feeling that this is it.
    And everebody has already said about deleted features and even the classic WC3 has some features blocked until you buy Disgorged... sorry, reforged.
    Well, there goes my hope for getting any good product from Blizzard ever again.

    Unfortunately I am very disappointed with this game. I loved the original content, I was so happy when I saw they make a remake of the game. Most of all the cutscenes were really promising for me.
    To be honest it's not that it just remained the same, but it's actually worse than that.
    I didn't see any of the new cutscenes, new dub. Most of the features are missing, the user interface    Unfortunately I am very disappointed with this game. I loved the original content, I was so happy when I saw they make a remake of the game. Most of all the cutscenes were really promising for me.
    To be honest it's not that it just remained the same, but it's actually worse than that.
    I didn't see any of the new cutscenes, new dub. Most of the features are missing, the user interface stayed the same - and not pleasant to look. The game is not stable, it crashes for me (OSX). There are some lag issues too.
    My problem is that the price is just too high for the product - it looks much more like if the content is a Testing-Tech-Demo but they mention it as a final product. It is surely not.    … Expand

    This whole project just reeks of greed and a quick cash in, proven by the fact that any custom games is the undisuputable property of Blizzard **** and co. You really think they would've let another DOTA flourish from the community and they wouldn't be at the forefront of that dollar waterfall?

    Plenty of bugs, missed content gone from the original 2003 and poor graphics update. This game is a scam, also I can't even keep playing the campaign as it has a bug that makes you lose the game once the load screen is done in some level, not even restarting or reinstalling the game fixes it.

    Was so excited about WRC3, now i'm more excited to see blizzard burn. They butchered almost everything i loved about wow, they butchered diablo, now even butchering WRC3.. This is absolutely disgraceful at best

    I like how Critics give this game a average 60 points while 10k users give it an absolute 0. This whole market got commercialized to the point businessmen actually do game development. The results are crystal clear.

    Blizz killed classic client and forced classic players to use 30GB's garbage UI. Im from PL and they also forced me to listen to new voiceline (which sounds really bad) I've paid for W3 ROC+TFT and i was enjoying fun.     Models have duplicate animations in order to look like they have same amount of animations as the original. Bad unwrap. Models themselves look like they were made by somebody who had never seen warcraft or wow. It would be better to just slap WOW models there with wc3 animations.     Una pietra miliare, non c’è molto da dire. È vero le aspettative son state in parte tradite e gli errori di comunicazione si pagano, ma rimane certa l’eccellenza di un prodotto che ha fatto la storia.
    Si poteva/doveva fare di più viste le acque in cui naviga l’immagine di Blizzard? Assolutamente si.Il prodotto è da 0? No.

    ...Releasetag - 25 GB an GameData waren spontan extrem vielversprechend - und nach meiner ersten Berührung mit dem Spiel: OMG OMG ... was ist denn mit "meinem alten" WC3 passiert?! Das Game spielt sich durchaus wie ein WC3... aber: es fühlt sich nicht mehr so an, wie ein WC3.
    Die Grafik fügt sich nicht so wundervoll ineinander, wie einst im Original... , die Sprachausgabe hat eine Rückentwicklung erfahren...., usw. ... hatte ich für die heutige Zeit zu viel erwartet?!
    Natürlich habe ich kein neues Warcraft erwartet. ABER: ich hab' ein WC erwartet, das es Wert gewesen wäre, nach all den vielen vielen Jahren wieder neu entdeckt zu werden. Davon ist das aktuelle Release aber meilenweit entfernt :-(
    Sorry, Blizzard... aber: was hier abgeliefert wurde, das entspricht bei Weitem nicht dem, was uns (alten) Fans in den Vorankündigungen versprochen wurde...

    Where is lighting ? Where is that nice shadows ? But we have oversaturated, badTextured environment, with no illumination !     I'm glad I was able to refund it before I got to hit "Play".

    I got sold on WC3:Reforged, because of the supposed 4 hours Reforged in-game cutscenes. But no, they decided to scrap that, so there's no new experience for me anymore aside from the re-skins, which would lose its novelty quickly anyways...

    Not only is this game an absolute pile of garbage, it also killed the much better game that was the original Warcraft 3, as well as Warcraft 3's vibrant map-making scene that was still alive all the way until the release of this piece of trash that killed WC3 map-making as a hobby.

If anything in gaming history deserved a 0 rating, it's this. I find it more insulting than something like Fallout 76 or Anthem, as those are just standalone games you can skip and forget about them.     I have been playing this game since its launch way back in 2002, (a veteran player if you will), and after updating my game these days I was absolutely shocked by what I saw. First I couldn't even log in into the game because your app thought that I don't own the damn game. Ever since I heard youre gonna ramaster it I KNEW that your gonna f it up, because I knew you are not the same company that you used to be and that actually made THIS game, so WHY remastering it? So what did you do you morons? What did you improve? The graphics? The sound? I can be a female DK / DH now? But want gender neutral, not enough, aight? Forced me out of the old WC3 classic? Features that existed before the merge no longer exist? Gave me a laggy main menu? Everything that I now create in the editor belongs to you? I have an even better idea, why not everything that I create in real life is all yours too? I say, implement that. The 'new' classic version looks worse then the old one? Oh, you did that on purpose didnt you? You sneaky little brats. You mother ****ers. Youre gonna mess with me?! I couldn't find clans, don't think you even have a profile. Custom campaigns are poof, gone.     My advice, if you're looking for a good game with nostalgia. This ain't it, doesn't even feel like the original game. Just boot up the old wc3 and not through battlenet. Don't even open it on there. Move it away and never let it update. Also they removed support for the old game completely. battlenet isn't even working. So yeah they also destroyed your ability to play the old game like you use to before wc3r. So did i also waste my money on the old game?     I've been buying and playing Blizzard games since the first Warcraft back in early 90s. I have every single one of them, all Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo, then Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, Overwatch, played WoW for more than 10 years too. Not a fanboy though. For the first time I asked and obtained a refund. This is complete garbage, an insult to almost 30 years of successful Blizzard games.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Only hating the whole product doesn’t change anything. And discussions / threads like this are the reason nobody is taking us serious.

    In my opinion they also did things right:

    -Model grafics are great
    -New voices are good
    -Retro Feeling as I was playing in 2002 again

    Sure, I’m also really unhappy to pay at least 40 Euros (spoils of war edition) expecting all they promised and showed in the demo without getting this in the final game, but giving the metacrit to 0.1 isn’t fair at all.

    Let’s take 10 points asking ourselfes if they’re fulfilled or not:

    1) Modern Models (graphics)
    2) Modern “HD” sounds / voices
    3) Retro Feeling
    4) New promised Cutscenes
    5) Modern Gameplay (Strategie Games) (compared to Starcraft 2 for example)
    6) New or redesigned Story
    7) Modern Online Gameplay Modes
    8) Redesigned Maps fitting to WoW universe
    9) New “modern” Menu for easier navigation
    10) Map Creator (incl. user terms and conditions)

    Thinking about this, I’ll give it a 4/10 and I just made a “FAIR VOTING” so hopefully Blizzard will somehow see which users to take serious and which ones are just crying kids.

    You ruined a 17 year old game completely so you could have the money Blizzard is dead. Has been a great run but at this point it is clear that their investors have claimed complete control (creative and not) and it shows.     This is NOT what Blizzard advertised, this is a reskined WC3 that was NOT done tastefully, it somehow looks worse than the original game that was released 17 years ago, and have LESS feature than it. This game also deleted my original WC3 without my consent, advertising and selling a game like this should be illegal

    The bugs and the performance issues might be forgivable, if Blizzard can fix them quickly. I hope they do, but my faith in the company is so low at this point that I only expect the very worst from them. But the one thing that makes this product truly unacceptable is the client, and also the fact that they forced everyone into this client, even those who didn't buy Reforged.     I can only hope that Blizzard fixes this mess. If they do, I might have respect for this remake. But as of right now, this game is 1 step forward and 10 steps backwards. This game will not draw new people in, nor will it likely keep veterans around.

    I'm not another person just zero bombing to bandwagon like some of the other people here are, this is a genuinely bad game. Its a stripped version of the old warcraft 3. They actually managed to ruin an old game by stripping off features.

    They couldn't even properly remaster an old game.

    I preordered it early in 2019 and have been patiently waiting, this was suppose to be released no later than 12/31/2019. The original Starcraft was delayed for a long time but in the end it was we’ll worth the wait. I Expected great things especially when this was pushed back another month into 2020.

    Portraits are awful with too much gamma or something, the shadows are white. The sound dubbing is almost as bad as the original. How hard is it to make a gif? It’s hard to look at. I’d prefer no animation to bad ones. There are no options to fiddle with they’re just awful. The cinematic scenes are the originals or sure appear to be. They’re down right lame if they’re new. Some of the original units even look better then the new ones. I could live with most of that if what was reforged was done well. It feels unfinished. Sloppy!

    They promised newer and higher definition graphics, they didn't

    They promised much more and never delivered.
    I encourage anyone to torrent warcraft 3 or diablo 2 and enjoy Blizzard when they cared for their consumers and not just use them as a skin atm.    … Expand

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
