Well this is one of those games! This game, called undertale, gave me a mix of happiness, sadness, and joy! It’s a story game that is about humans and monsters, Frisk/your character fell down a holeA tale that whispers friendship, forgiveness, and story-changing choices in every corner. It’s a game that brings back all your childhood memories! Remember all those pixelated games? Well this is one of those games! This game, called undertale, gave me a mix of happiness, sadness, and joy! It’s a story game that is about humans and monsters, Frisk/your character fell down a hole underground and ends up finding friendly and evil monsters.

    Undertale’s graphics fit the game pretty well! It meant to be like a old like game, with the pixels and moving very little. There are some animations like when you're in Undyne’s house and Papyrus jumps out the window. The background music is very peaceful and can turn intense VERY fast. My favorite music is the snowden music because it's peaceful and calming.

    I fell in love with the story line in Undertale and not just that, EVERYTHING! The music, characters, sound effects, and more! Everything they did just fits the character so well. For example, Flowy! Flowy looks like a nice kind flower but on the inside he is a evil monster. He tries everything to get Frisk to kill every monster, but other monsters persuade you to take the better path! You can take the good path or the evil path, What will YOU choose?    … Expand

    Highly recommended game with great story telling, characters, and amazing music. The developer's even caring enough for people who prefer version 1.0 on the steam version and give an option to allow you to use it. Go in blind if you can.

    No words for this game. One of the best games i have played in my entire life (if not THE best). I liked everything: characters, soundtracks, mechanics. The game is almost completely clean from bugs. I really cried playing this game.

    I have no regrets playing this game.
    This is not THAT thing of review but that's ok.

    I Enjoyed the story with the unforgettable characters like sans and papyrus the humor is perfect and the story is amazing with all the theories the only game I've seen with this many theories is five nights at Freddy's, I won't hate on the graphics but yes they could be better I give a 9 out of 10 on them I enjoy the gameplay and how it's not a normal combat system I like how you can spareI Enjoyed the story with the unforgettable characters like sans and papyrus the humor is perfect and the story is amazing with all the theories the only game I've seen with this many theories is five nights at Freddy's, I won't hate on the graphics but yes they could be better I give a 9 out of 10 on them I enjoy the gameplay and how it's not a normal combat system I like how you can spare your enemies and there are different endings on how much you do and do not kill I think the people who hate this game just don't really like it I loved the music like 10000 out of 10 on music and how easy you can remix the songs making them even better!     UNDERTALE is my favourite game. IMO it's a masterpiece.

    First of all, if you would like to play this game, don't spoil it for yourself, you should do at least your first playthrough "blindly" for the best experience. You won't regret it... UNDERTALE's "motto" is "The friendly RPG where nobody has to die!", because you decide who you want to kill (or who you don't = ) ). You can even    UNDERTALE is my favourite game. IMO it's a masterpiece.

    One of the best from the many things that make the game great is that its creator, Toby Fox (it's mostly made only by him) thought of almost everything, even the littlest details. For example, you can hear a character's theme's leitmotif in the location's theme where they appear, etc etc... (10/10 explanation (/s))
    Another great thing is that even players who have already finished the game many times (*cough* replayed *the* "routes" many times *cough*; like me) can discover/hear new things, new mysteries (solved) about the game.

    Boy, I could write a long and detailed list on the things that make UNDERTALE great.

    Also, this game is the perfect example on how videogames' graphics doesn't matter that much.

    I rate this game and its soundtrack tem out of tem! ((seamless reference))

    BTW, people say that the fanbase is "cancerous", but most of the time you can only meet cancerous fans if you are looking for them "intentionally"...

    All it takes for me to remember what a great game Undertale was is one song. I cared about every character so much and now just hearing some of their themes makes me tear up a little. I have always been a completionest when it comes to these story based games. Always going back and doing the opposite of what I had the first play through. It's a simple retro RPG on the surface with graphics more at home a couple decades ago, but once it gets going, it becomes quite the experience. It's clever writing ranges from light-hearted fun to tearjerker material. It's lovable cast of characters can become like family. It's soundtrack is one of the best I've heard yet. Jesus, for the first time in my life I have not complaints, or criticism. It's a wonderfully imaginative romp through a rich a kookie world.     I played this game with my girlfriend, we both really loved it.

    What a surprising game. Every step of the way it keeps playing with what you think a game should be, and keeps giving you something else completely different, yet better. If you are bored with every game being the same, this will wake you up.

    This game is an absolute masterpiece. This game illustrates perfectly how amazing indie games can be. (toby fox made this game almost completely by himself).

    If you haven't played this game yet, then I strongly suggest you do so! you will NOT regret it! Make sure though that you don't search anything about Undertale, as it will ruin the experience.

    Know that this game exist, it fills you with determination.
    The music is comparable with Zelda: Ocarina of time, in other words, is wonderful

    Uno de los juegos mas ÚNICOS que he visto, no lo considero perfecto ni considero que tenga gran jugabilidad (Se acerca en ambos sentidos), sinó que rompe muchos esquemas en los videojuegos, como lo de no matar a gente, ser amigos de jefes, el juego te habla y se comunica contigo y rompe muchas veces la cuarta pared, si sale un juego que arme tanto revuelo como esté,    SPANISH/STEAM REVIEW.

    Normalmente no le pondría puntuación ya que si es único no podría compararlo con los otros videojuegos en sus aspectos, esa es la razón por la que muchos consideran -perfecto- el juego :p .

    -Le pongo un 10/10 en dialogo e historia (Si no lo evaluara como indie le bajaría a 7/10)
    -En apartado técnico nose, es que cada acción que hagas creas un algoritmo donde ese acto toma consecuencias en el futuro (EJ: Le dices a la rana que odias los textos amarillos y luego esos textos aparecen botado en la basura) y cientos de cosas más, pero mas allá de eso no hay mucho, le doy un 6/10 sin la interaccion entre hechos-consecuencias y un 9/10 con ello y lo de la cuarta pared (si lo evaluara como un juego triple AAA, le daría un 3/10 y un 7/10 respectivamente)
    -En diseño y originalidad le pongo un 9/10
    En total le pondría un 8/10, ya que no se puede hacer mucho en las batallas y en el mapa en sí, mas que puzzles, interactuar con personajes y llamar por teléfono, cosas que en el lado del diseño y arte esta excelente pero en lo tecnológico esta cutre para ser un rpg.    … Expand

    The best indie type game. Nostalgic a little bit, but with humour and incredibly addictive plot. You can really identify with main character, feels what she feel. In my opinion, this game is the best ive ever played. Really.

    Undertale est juste un fabuleux RPHG d'aventure, je ne peux pas tout détailler mais je peux dire que vous en avez pour longtemps avant de le terminer et je vous dit bonne chance ;)

This has good character,good jokes,and it can make you cry even. The on;y real way you can enjoy the game is to play it for yourself and connect with the characters.     So me and pretty much everyone else on the planet love this game. What else is new? Is it perfect? No. But I don't care, cause it's been about 5 months since I played it and I still think about it. But then, I was one of the lucky ones to play this game before it got massively popular and inevitably over hyped. It is one of the few games that deserves the hype though. I'm also royally pissed that they gave game of the year to freaking Rocket League instead of this game. That feels a bit like the Oscars snubbing Singing In The Rain.

    Now, I'm not interested in convincing any of you that this game isn't overrated (its not) because if that's how you feel, I probably can't change your mind. But I am concerned that some of y'all have been told that there's a right way to play this game. That you have to get the good ending to have a fun time. That is a lie. Play the game however the hell you like, and you will have fun. It's impossible for you to get the worst ending without trying too. Making mistakes is part of the experience and part of the power in the story. And if your told that you have to get it right the first time, then yeah, you'll probably be a little bit annoyed at the game. And that's no way to go about your free time.     This is a game that *needs to be a game* to tell the story the way it's intended. It uses the medium to its advantage in crafting the narrative. It would lose a lot in translation to a book or movie. It's funny, sad, thoughtful, and heartfelt. Every character is brilliantly written. Gameplay is fun and very different from most other RPGs.     This is the best game I have never played ; MAGNIFIC songs, GREAT history, and the most important thing, the combat mechanics.
    It's a FUNNY game too.

    This game changed my point of view of this world.

Really, I had never seen a game this good. A game that, no matter how many times I play, I can never say that "I've seen it all" or that "I know it all", because it would be a huge lie. Fun fact, they compliment the music I usually listen to, which is from the soundtrack of the game. The fandom is also really entertaining. All the alternate universes people make, the comics and the fanart... Even fanmade songs. I think Undertale is one of those gems that only appear once every something years, and that everyone should give it a shot and try to see past the graphics. Definitely my favorite game ever in all platforms.… Expand

    Undertale is a game close to my heart. I went in with no idea what to expect and after a single day in which I completed the games main route, I left with a new favourite game. This is the only game aside from Papers, Please that I would consider literally perfect. I'm serious. Even Crash Bandicoot 2, my previous favourite game, is flawed in certain areas. (Hitboxes, certain brokenUndertale is a game close to my heart. I went in with no idea what to expect and after a single day in which I completed the games main route, I left with a new favourite game.     Whereas a normal game would make me say "That was fun" and leave it at that, Undertale changed how I view video games. Seeing as I'm in the process of making my own, this is a great thing. Seeing as I was a pacifist, I actually hesitated to kill in other games. A lot of negative reviews here say that the combat is too simple, but don't realise that it's simpler to select an attack and receive damage. All the bullet hell is is a was to negate damage should you avoid everything.

    No game has had an effect as huge as Undertale has on me, even ignoring things like the only soundtrack I religiously listen to outside the game. Even Hotline Miami didn't have a soundtrack that strong. The reason for this is that Toby Fox, the lead dev, primarily made music beforehand. He was responsible for a lot of Homestuck's soundtrack.

    Some people think that people who rate 10 are simply fanboys, but it's not easy to get a 10 from me. I recommend this heavily to literally everyone. I only ask that you don't use a walkthrough. Being blind is a big part of the experience.

The gameplay itself is very creative, with a little heart moving around to dodge white shapes.     Unlike many titles of the present day with techniques that encourage you to grind so you waste more time on sub-par parts of games Undertale doesn't make you waste any of your time and makes the game totally engaging when it does for the sake of anticipation, and remains brief.

    Many titles now feel like they are inherently missing content because of things like day-one-DLC that encourage the player to spend more money on content that should have been in the game in the first place. There is nothing missing in Undertale, period. The game is a complete and memorable experience. Unless you are an irrational person who believes all the hype and literally thinks that this game will cure cancer, YOU WILL ENJOY THIS GAME.

    The game does the job correctly of being a video game by actually being fun. It seems like we've forgotten that competition doesn't inherently equal fun, and this is something I think games like Super Smash Bros. and League of Legends easily forget.

    The characters are memorable and lovable the soundtrack is clever and thematic and the story easily surpasses anything thought up by the likes of the video game creation community for a long time.

    10 is not even a high enough score, if it were up to me I would give this game an eleven because I've never played a game like it, and probably never will again…

    You would do well with your $10 in buying Undertale, and even better with your $20 buying both it and the soundtrack.    … Expand

Toriel, the motherly character who will do anything to protect you. Sans, a skeleton armed with bad puns and bad times. Papyrus, the brother of Sans who will do anything to join the Royal Guard and loves cooking spaghetti. Undyne, the leader of the Royal Guard with a hotheaded personality. Alphys, the Royal Scientist with a dark secret and a passion for Anime. Mettaton, the Killer Robot TV Host. Asgore, the king of all Monsters. Not to mention each Monster in a battle has a personality.

    -The Endings: Neutral, Pacifist, and Genocide. The Three endings. I can't spoil to much, except that each ending accomplishes very different things. For Example, while Pacifist gives you a feeling of happiness, Genocide is physically and Mentally exhausting. In Genocide, you're gonna have a bad time.

    -The Music: Oh My Days, the Music. Beatiful in every way.

    I like games that "change the formula".In RPG games you expect to kill enemies to gain more XP.But not in Undertale.Also not to mention all the good messages we learned from this game...

    gives me Earthbound vibes, as well as an amazing story/stories. The alternate paths,characters,charm,bullet hell battle system,and ESPECIALLY the godlike soundtrack make this perfect. Takes me back to my SNES rpg days.

    Look, If you want to play this game, DON'T SPOIL IT FOR YOURSELF. Don't look at screenshots, descriptions or trailers. Maybe you want to do that so you can be sure that you are going to get your money's worth out of it, but just take my advice and buy it. It's not just 4th wall breaks, or the character cast, or the few bloopers in the game, or the easter eggs that seem to be very fun. It's also the way the game plays out too. Also, considering there's only one way to delete your save file(Not a "Reset"), it really adds to the gameplay. And personally, if someone criticizes that the game does not have violence, I think they need to have a second thought. This game even has the violence to satisfy a T+ gamer's needs. You guys should try the game itself, otherwise, you won't know what kind of game this is. The reason Toby Fox didn't want the game to be posted on youtube was not because of spoilers, but because people would think they got spoiled and miss an oppurtunity of pure golden gameplay in a 16-bit retro style pack. Usually a step back in graphics allows a step forward in gameplay from what I seen from Toby Fox and his helpful studio.… Expand

    One of the best games EVER. The graphics are old, but who cares! About 3 endings. Not just one. There is an very interesting story. There are lots of enemies. Instead of just beating them, you can spare them. Only one minus; the genocide route. BUT WHO CARES! The genocide route is so hard. The soundtrack is good, too. This is worth it.

He has made another game before, Hacked version of Earthbound. SO, with that, let's review the game itself. So you're a kid who fell to the underground. You learn that the humans and monsters had a war many years ago. But you also learn about the monsters and some really good life lessons like "Treat others with kindness and they will (probably) give you kindness back" or "Always stay determined and never give up on yourself!" We should probably talk about these really cool characters. Let's start off with the character you first meet, Flowey! He's evil but with a purpose. Toriel loves humans (for a reason that is a HUGE spoiler~) Sans is a smart but lazy skele (Also SPOILERS) Papyrus, an over working INNOCENT skele because he is a GREAAAAT PAPYRUS after all. There's undyne. She's the head of the royal guard, and REALLY hot headed. She thinks humans are anime and is over all innocent (besides killing you) Alphys is a weeb scientist. Asgore is the king (and a WHOLE LOT of spoilers) And there are two other main characters but they are also spoilers~ I love this game because
    of there's no going back. If you do something, like killing EVERYONE, there's no going back.

Can’t wait for Toby fox to make another game already, although I do hope it isn’t Undertale, it has a satisfying ending and should stay that way, but definitely can’t wait for another game by him.

Every soundtrack is unique and cool. Maybe this game the only one where all soundtracks are really cool. Every single one. Some tracks really inspire you in the battles. Some of them are just relaxing, and some even have made my friend cry o.o Even now I’m listening to the soundtrack which fills me up with determination to write this review :) You can find music -here and here
    Story
    What can be better than an interesting story with 3 routes . Pacifist, Genocide, Neutral.
    1.Pacifist is a whole game of emotional positivity, the best jokes from skeletons (♥♥♥♥ I love their jokes). Interesting and unbelievable shows from mettaton and alphys. The coolest time spending with Undyne and others. After Undertale you will still keep in your mind all character because each of them is unique. You will love all of them because how to not love so funny, kind , interesting friends to who you will prove that not every human brings the chaos in the underground. Maybe from the start you will think how to get to home because all game is about how you are trying your best to reach the point like with every save you are filling yourself more and more with the determination like you meeting so many enemies on your way but you trying to prove them people are not bad you gain more and more friends, fans and just people who want to stay with you. And that’s it you reached the point you filled on full with determination you see that you almost reached the end and after you doing that you understand that you don’t want to leave all those friends you gain, you don’t want to lost all those love you earned from them and you understand that you heart is here and it’s belonging to them. But things going even more better in the true pacifist ending you are not just reaching the point but you not even leaving your friends, family. And all happy together.
    2. Genocide: But you see that there is not only one way to use your determination, you think you should become stronger to raise your LV and HP . But with every lv up you see that you are losing your self and something other controlling it now but this is already too late to stop you killed everyone there is no way back. Everyone told you:” You gonna have a bad time”, but you didn’t listen. The whole game trying to say you that to be bad it’s not that easy and there is no profit from it. But you are filled with determination again and you are going further because you know you can do it and you are doing it and what happened next it doesn’t matter for you any more you just want to do it and that’s all.
    3.Neutral: Sometimes you kill sometimes not, but still you will be forced to choose bad or good ending.
    At the end I will say that this game can really go deep in your heart. Be careful thro to not hurt yourself by choosing routes. This game will also go deep in your memory with all good moments you passed in. Of course I recommend this game and wish to everyone have fun in it. I will see you in the next review and stay determined!

    It wasn’t around late August, 2015, that I discovered this game, almost a year after its release. Even so, the overwhelmingly large and amazing fan base I had stumbled into was still going strong. I was overcome by the kindness and diversity of the community and had to play the game for myself. I got the game for Christmas of that year and “finished” it in only two days. The game had been even better than I had anticipated, and I couldn’t put it down.

    I had started playing the game only a day after I got it, and was immediately thrust into the story. Although there wasn’t much on the surface, game creator, Toby Fox, left cracks specifically for the community to tear into caverns. The game’s characters made me feel like a had a real relationship with a real person, and when it came to killing or sparing, I could never pick the first. I decided first to play the pacifist route, the preferred first of itself, neutral, and genocide. In pacifist, when giving the choice, you spare every single NPC, and don’t kill, or eat, a single one. In neutral, you kill side characters, and spare every main character. In genocide, you brutally murder everything in sight. It is the only gamemode I couldn’t bring myself to play. I did watch gameplay of the gamemode, however, but watching every character be mercilessly murdered, brought me to literal tears.

    I absolutely loved the game. It was, by far, my favorite gaming experience of all time. The community was the most immersive, kind, and compassionate I’ve ever seen. The game itself was definitely a 5-star experience, and I’ve never felt so emotionally attached to a game and its story. Its characters felt so real, and they made me genuinely want to help them with their struggles. I felt like I wanted to cry when a character was sad or hurt, and I felt excited when I character was happy or accomplished something.

    Do yourself a favor and keep it that way. This is a game you play for the experience rather than just gameplay (although it's fine in its own right and adds an unique twist to what otherwise would be a generic turn-based RPG combat,) so if you have any interest in it, try to avoid    Since you are here looking up the reviews of this game, I assume that you know barely anything about it.
    Do yourself a favor and keep it that way.     Every single character is memorable, the soundtracks alone are already worth the money you get from it. The game changes drastically depending on how you play it and, there are mysteries, romances, nightmare-fuel segments and vivid dialogues that makes you care about each and every of those characters. If you're a good person at heart, chances are, you might cry before you even get through the tutorial. What you do or not have a tremendous change on the world around you, unlike many other titles out there.

    Despite not having a great variety of attack choices (like magic, limit breakers or whatever), the game allows you to interact much more with each monster you encounter, by allowing you to dodge, time your attacks (you could also not attack at all or miss on purpose), mixing RPG mechanics with Platforming, Bullet hell and dating sims. No joke.

    If you're expecting an action RPG or a hack n slash with AAA graphics, then dude... You're at the wrong side of gaming here. This is a experience unlike any other game and... if you don't get any spoilers, then, it is NECESSARY to play the game more than once. Seriously, DO NOT JUDGE THIS GAME AFTER ONLY ONE PLAYTHROUGH. Make different choices, spare, kill, see what changes, this game's songs and humor are only not even the tip of the iceberg. Toby Fox's work is DENSE and you should take it in a personal level, not taking choices to get Ending A or Ending B, but doing what you would do if this WASN'T a game. But after 1 hour playing the game I got a bit fed up and turned it off. After some weeks, I gave it another go, and after 20 minutes I was SUPER ENGAGED!     A beautifully original take on the RPG genre, with a compelling story that will bring you to tears. It's humour is on-point, with the best set of characters in any RPG. It's fanbase can be cringey and annoying, but don't let that stop you from one of the greatest games ever made. It goes straight to my second favourite game of all time.

    Un juego con una banda sonora impresionante, unos personajes muy carismáticos y una personalidad que habla por si sola. Un indie que da un aire fresco a los RPG y que se quedará con Final Fantasy y Chrono Trigger como uno de los mejores. Le doy un 95/100.

    The strengths of this game include the writing, characters, story, and all the quirky easter eggs that the player can discover through searching. No two playthroughs are exactly alike and your choices really matter. I won't give away too much, but be careful what you say and do because your actions have consequences. ;)

    This game prides itself on breaking the violent mold of traditional RPGs where the main character leaves a trail of monster corpses in their wake. It is about mercy, love, forgiveness and bravery. The gameplay is pretty fun and the soundtrack is amazing. This is a purchase you will not regret.     With multiple endings based on how you choose to play out your run, set pieces that can play out very differently based on your actions and so many incredible moments that we’d love to share but daren’t do so for risk of spoiling anything, Undertale is easily one of the indie standouts of last year.

    Through a combination of often relaxed but sometimes tense gameplay, a dreamy atmosphere, and genuine characters that feel like they’re actually alive and all living together in this isolated society of longing, Undertale transcends its medium and becomes a genuinely moving experience I would recommend to anyone who is open to a sometimes sorrowful, sometimes hilarious, always bizarre and engaging emotional journey.
