Nie przesadzajcie. The Sims 4 to całkiem niezła gra.

Unnecessary amount of updates. The Sims is only a game I play intermittently and only for an hour or two at a time. Every single time I want to play I have to wait. Sometimes it's just not worth it and I end up going months without playing.

No começo é divertido. How do you say so? And so, the developer decided that focusing on weak computers is cool. But after some add-ons, I took my words back, increasing requirements, but at the same time, everyone, in each addon, has a smaller, fewer lots, no animations of cars as in the creative part, fewer lots than in the second part, less animations and elaboration than in the second parts. Business is worse than the second part, and worse than the second part, children are worse than the second part. Everything is WORSE. BETTER GAMES FROM 2005. And the most disgusting, downloads of 15 minutes, in a game focused on old PCs, on the damn 2070 and 7700k. WTF. Reloading stories is a separate spit in the soul. No more mysticism, istria. empty generic NPCs dressing random clothes and looking awful, without history, there are no more NPCs and their dynasties of stories, there were Goths and died, there is nothing more after them, but it's ordinary to say nothing about ordinary NPCs, they are just dummies.

It was a big step back from TS3. Yes, now with all the patch and expansions we have some of that but it's really not enought if we compare it to the 3rd chapter or even the 2nd. I like the CAS, expecially the direct mouse manipulation and there are some big improvement with the build mode. For these reason and also because I like the new graphic I continued play The Sims 4 instead to go back to TS3. But even now with same good packs and dlc I miss these things expecially the color whell because, (I don't know why, maybe just to troll us players), EA can't put colors consistent with each other. For a build/buy enthusiastic like me this is really, really, annoyng. What's the point of put a bed in wood color that doesn't match with the bedside table? It's a mistery. Anyway I resigned myself to play with what we have and I try to see also the improvement and make the most of it. But I cannot say that TH4 was not a big missed opportunity to make a great game (with all the good aspects of TS2 and TS3 combined). Expand

You can't officially change the language of the game. The game publisher assumes you only ever speak one language and want to play your games in one language only. The steam version doesn't seem to have a similar issue so if you want to pay a second time for a mediocre experience that's one way out of this impas.

Otherwise, the previous game is either better, or at least not worse. Removing many things really disappointed me. Not everything was returned even at the time of 2020. And it seems it will not be returned. Most offensively for:

    - An open world (what prevented it from being turned off - an optional option for weak PCs and consoles?)

    - Transport, those cars that are present - it's just a visual effect

    - The remote mode of changing the city, and what is connected with this - the lack of the ability to place the desired site in the desired location

    - Cut the functionality of pets. The inability to hire them or directly manage them. Cat training has not yet been returned.

    - Lack of elaboration of trifles, as in the Sims 2. For example, what prevented the characters from getting kitchen appliances from the cabinets? Or did chess really move during the game?

    - Even more fragmentation of the game into paid addons. For example, if in the Sims 3 with the expansion “Pets” you received a whole bunch of possible pets and items for them, then in the Sims 4 they managed to break it into two separate additions.

    - The possibility of free painting objects

This is not a complete list. Personally, I think that the new parts of the games should get better, not improve only some things, taking away many interesting features in return.

The developing team clearly cares only about the profit, not the content they are providing for a quite solid price. This lack of love and passion for their product is showing in everything: lackluster DLCs and an absence of details make a sloppy game overall.

Sims 4 is boring. It’s the most painful and boring game. I guess you could argue that’s just how a life simulator is. But I remember having so much fun going to clubs and restaurants and bars in sims 3, at my own will. Call me a hater, but the fact we didn’t get open world in the “newer” sims is laughable. And yeah, this complaint has been beaten into the sims 4 developers minds but they certainly have a fun time defending their precious ugly a** baby from criticism. I found it so funny that when I was first watching video for the Sims 4, they praised the character creator for its amazing abilities. Instead we got some cool sliders on the bodies and nothing else. What happened to the customization? Sims 3 let’s me pick accurate and unashey POC skin colors, and now I get absolutely disgraceful skin tones that people have complained about since they appeared. But it’s been a good few years, and alas no improvement! Because the Sims team and EA doesn’t care about its fans. It’s so heartwarming to look at these amazing surveys and actually get excited before remembering, oh right, it’s EA, it won’t happen. I looked at the website and saw school, accurate relationships, improved babies, and I got tears. I was finally going to get the sims 4 we all deserved. Instead they come out with the WORST pack I’ve seen. A eco pack. For 35 DOLLARS. If you are spending 35 of your hard earned money for rehashed ideas from two other packs fluffed with stinky old cheese.... I’m sorry but please save it for something else. I’ve never been more embarrassed for a company. The fact it passed so many people and they looked at it and thought “This won’t look like an obvious cash grab at all!” Because that’s all they think. They don’t care about us. Why would they when people still throw money at the company like h*rny straight me. I also find it soooo hysterical that there are literal fans, working for no money or limited money from patreon, are making BETTER packs and expansions for FREE or for cheap, better than the f*cking devs. I could not be more proud of a community for actively owning the sh*t out of this team that constantly uses “non realistic/ impossible” as a reasonable excuse. The fans give us matching furniture, realistic teens/babies with skin problems and moody days, actually good and relevant clothing other than the disgusting style Maxis gives us, beautiful skins colors and amazing hair. It’s so sad these people work so hard to make the game actually enjoyable content that is being eaten up by EA. I can’t get over the blandness and ugly and boring Sims 4. We’ve gotten unfinished packs, unmatched devs, awful buildings, horrendous packs, all for what. We have suffered so long and I just. This is the last **** straw. I can’t kept waisting my money on a game I know won’t improve. It’s heartbreaking to me that I put so much hope only for EA to piss and sh*t all over my dreams. I genuinely hope that people on the Sims team learn to read feedback. It would be beautiful to see actually good builds, good packs, and content that makes even 15 bucks f*cking worth it. Expand

The only problem I have with this game is the pay gap with male bodies vs female bodies.

I have both male and female working in the space unit--they are currently at the module cleaner level. M is getting paid 37/hr while FM is getting paid at 33/hr. Seriously???? How hard is it to get equal pay FOR THE SAME JOB? I'm going to bet it happens with other careers(I'm not sure though).

A base game should be fun and enjoyable and not feel so empty and lacking and not need eps that end up costing a lot. And because of being so bland I wont be spending another $ on Sims 4 and I worked out all EP's game and stuff packs bought at full price cost $910AUD total. I could buy so many good complete games for that price.

A EP should enhance and add to the game play not make the game feel boring and unplayable without it.

I bought sims 3 Ep's most at full price and didn't mind as I enjoy the game so much.

The only good thing is the game doesn't crash at all.

I wanted black curtains for my emo sim but nope that is not an option, it's so limited I can't make and decorate the house the way I want. And you can't play multiple sims efficiently. I wanted to have 1 sim stay at home and write books while I sent the other sim off to make friends. But nope when you go somewhere else the sims at home stop doing what you assigned them to do and are instead wasting time watching TV.

You have to keep your sims all together to be able to control them all.

So many steps back. There is so much I miss from Sims 3, the open world, CAS, vehicles, horses being able to control multiple sims at different locations at the same time, story progression.

    Never played the first sims.

    Sims 2 was alright.

Still absolutely love sims 3 and it's the only one worth playing and bought every EP for it. And will still keep playing it.

Sims 4 is not even as good as sims 2 and will not buy any more ep's for it as it's not going to change what I hate about it. Not going to play it again.

Terrible money grabbing game that is not fun and so much content needed to buy that should be in the game already. It doesn't even deserve a 1.

Oh boy, EA ruining another Maxis game here we go again. Now I know it is rather late to be expressing my concerns with the series after this game's release 5-6 years ago but I just want to talk about how this series has gone terribly wrong ever since EA introduced the fourth instalment.

This game is the prime reason as to why fans are losing faith in the developers because they feel the need to turn the product into a cash cow. Some how this has succeeded but it isn't because of EA but it's because EA is now involved in very dodgy influencer marketing. As a marketing student, while EA is doing an amazing job at inflating profits by doing so, the problem is that in the end they will have no source of credibility or a positive reputation to continue the series after this instalment. I'm always keeping up to date with what they do with the sims 4 because it is a marketing lesson but it seems that to have any source of fun with this game you need to purchase a few of the many expansion packs on offer (32 of them). To get this game with all the expansions you'd be paying over £400, how generous! and what's criminal about what they've done is that this DLC only adds very little to the game. With other games, DLC will usually add a whole new plot or chunk to the game but not with the sims 4 because pets and a weather system has to be separate.

Now why are people throwing money at EA when they know this is a ludicrous money making scheme? it's because of the marketing. It has nothing to do with EA being EA. YouTubers are promoting this game the same way Ninja promotes Fortnite only difference being is that Epic's Fortnite is FREE and probably offers more fun to a consumer when comparing it to the sims 4. YouTuber's who promote the sims 4 get all the expansions from EA for free because they know that these opinion leaders will encourage their followers to buy the game and that's what it all boils down to. Then, because of the strength of these opinion leaders, their followers will anticipate the next money grabbing DLC that EA throws out to them because the opinion leaders are going to make a radical cool video expressing how excited they are for all the new features that their audience has to pay for while they get it for free.

Even when YouTuber's criticise EA's money making schemes, the opinion leaders will of course, defend EA the same way that politicians defend companies involved in bad schemes.

It is clear now that EA Is ruining the sims as a series and its gotten so bad that people are still playing the sims 3 and 2 even though they are no longer supported. They aren't ruining it through "forgetting to add Toddlers at base game", they are ruining it by being extremely greedy and somehow their marketing works. But if they make a next sims game, it will not make as many profits due to the amount of DLC available for this game and that fans will go into an uproar of buying the same old DLC all over again.

I've had all 4 games and this is the worst. Dont like the controls at all. Also i absolutely adored being able to customize everything in the other game but u cant do that here its horrible. Fortunately I still have the sims 3 so I've been playing that instead. Love that game.

Not a bad game itself, probably would have given it a 6 or such, but the amount of dlc’s should tell you how much is missing from this game. I got this game for free, and I still feel bamboozled. Unless you **** money, it’s not finished or original, it’s a rehash from the others, but putting interesting stuff as an 20 part expansion

I LOVED The Sims 2. I banned myself from playing because I was addicted, so I never played Sims 3. Recently allowed myself to play Sims 4. I'm glad that it wasn't as addictive as Sims 2 because that made it easy to give up. I'd give it 5 stars if I had never played The Sims before, because, overall, on its own, it's not bad. I'm glad that it wasn't as addictive as Sims 2 because that made it easy to give up. I'd give it 5 stars if I had never played The Sims before, because, overall, on its own, it's not bad. But there are tweaks they made to v4 that made it not as gripping.

The CAS was pretty cool. Even though it lets you move shape vectors around (to design the curve of a cheek, for example), somehow I wasn't able to create the avatars I wanted. In Sims 2 I used to be able to make myself and my friends pretty easily, and it was fun to play with all these people who really looked like people in my life. You could do funny things with them. But in Sims 4, despite the advanced tech, I couldn't make avatars that were recognizable as me or my boyfriend. The one thing better about Sims 4 was that you could design your avatars' bodies with more variation. For example, it was nice to be able to use the contour manipulator to give my females smaller breasts, and to make all the characters' body shapes more realistic.

It's difficult to say what was less compelling about the game, all around. The aspirations part changed. It should have been better, but somehow it wasn't. There wasn't a feeling of, "I want to accomplish THIS" or "I must accomplish THAT" ... the whole thing felt a little more apathetic than v2. I suppose that's realistic, because the world has become averse to rewarding accomplishments for fear of making the underachievers feel bad. Somehow The Sims 4 has captured this new "We're ALL blue ribbon winners!" feeling.

    Differences that I noticed are:
    - there are no cars - that bit was fun before
    - there are no diving boards - realistic to life now ... no biggee, really
    - there is no private school, and no doing homework - your kid just all of a sudden is at school and it's treated the same way going to work is. This was kind of a bummer, because I thought schmoozing with the headmaster was kind of fun. I presume that the designers wanted to abolish social caste distinctions, but The Sims was a world where anybody COULD get to private school and get a nice house and a maid and a helicopter if they worked for it. That was fun. Now it's lame.
    - The first kiss, first woo hoo, and proposals used to trigger a little close-up movie scene, which was fun. Now they don't.
    - The neighborhood doesn't seem to be as big. There were less empty lots to choose from.
    - House-building and decorating used to be my favorite thing. It's still pretty good in v4, but they made it more complicated.
    - The characters now spend way too much time talking to each other. They're always gabbing, gabbing, gabbing. When you want them to get stuff done (like eating when they're starving) it's annoying to have to keep trying to control them from talking. On the plus side, the animations are well done. It's kind of cool how a character can take a plate of food, sit on a bed, and talk to a toddler playing nearby. Even though I can appreciate the tech, I don't like the result in the game play.
    - The characters have a lot more options now. I understand how this would seem like a good thing, but it's not. Too many options slow the game down. For example, when you clicked on a character in v2 you had, I dunno, maybe 12 options for ways to interact with them. Now, in v4, you have a ton more options. While I do like the color-coding and the grouping them in motive categories, I think having this many options actually makes the game less fun. Similarly to how you have to constantly control your Sims from talking to each other, the multitude of character action options forces you to spend too much time clicking in order to get them to do what you want.

All in all, I think The Sims 4 is a fun game to try if you've never played The Sims before. However, for me, I was hooked for about a week, and then I hated it. There was a lot of work required for not much reward. I liked Sims 2 better.

First, it gets rid of the open world and Create-A-Style present in The Sims 3. Second, the game was missing a ton of content at launch including pools and toddlers which is all content that should be in the base game. Despite the launch, this game in The Sims franchise has to have the worst DLC, the game is oversaturated with stuff packs and most of the other packs, expansion and game packs, don't add much noteworthy to the game either. Even though the updates have added necessary content, there is some additions that have annoyed me during gameplay: mostly the monster under the bed and death notifications. Fortunately, this game does make building easier, but it also isn't clear on how to place foundations on your household, something very easy to do in The Sims 3. Also, the Create-A-Sim mode has improved greatly and the emotions system, although too easily manipulated, is a great addition. Although the game is much better since its launch, The Sims 4 still has to be the worst game in the franchise. At this point, I'm ready to move on from this game and I'll instead play the previous versions as they were more fun, had more content, improved on the gameplay with expansions and don't annoy me with unnecessary gameplay additions from new updates. The Sims is one of my favorite video game franchises and it's very unfortunate that this game in The Sims franchise is a major disappointment. Expand

This is truly the worst Sims game ever created by EA. They are destroying Will Wright's legacy in my opinion. The gameplay is extremely superficial and shallow. The Sims, originally a fun, witty and detailed life SIMULATOR, is nothing more than a doll house where the simulation aspect only happens in your imagination.

Different skills and activities are also very poorly balanced - among the creative skills writing is basically a money printing license while music is basically useless even though they take similar amounts of time and effort. This really limits what your sim can do if you're aiming to be as successful as you can. Of course, there's also the trait system which can turn your sim into a perfect inhuman cyborg with no needs beyond fun and bladder in relatively short order.
If you're not a fan of The Sims I would not recommend starting now. If you are you're probably already playing this so whatever.

The base game had me playing for only 10 hours before dropping it. Sims 3 had me on for weeks. There isn't even that much to do in Sims 4 and if it is, it's the most boring thing ever.

This is basically Sims 2.5. It's not even good enough to be 4 and even with all the DLC included, it's still a boring game especially compared to 3. I mean this game was like it was made with 2004 standards with somehow less content and more to pay for. The only people I'd recommend this game to is people with low end PCs. That's all it's for. Everyone else might as well skip over this and go back to grabbing 3 or 2.

The sims themselves are two-dimensional and lifeless, and only have 3 traits each, which mostly just give them random buffs instead of adding personality to the game.

Positives- The create-a-sim is heavily improved from The Sims 3, and uses clicking and dragging to sculpt sims bodies, rather than vague and confusing sliders. The loading screens have been drastically shortened, and are only a few seconds long. Build mode has also been improved, since you can now click and drag rooms and walls easily. The UI is streamlined and far nicer looking than in previous games.

Negatives- Many features from previous games in the series have been excluded from The Sims 4. This includes cars, open worlds, ponds, create-a-style, movable babies, editable worlds, 5 traits, and memories. The sims themselves are have far less personality than they did in TS3 and especially TS2. The "emotion" system that was heavily advertised for the game is broken and unbalanced. The worlds have been drastically shrunken down, and there are loading screens between literally every lot, even lots in the same neighborhood. The huge, beautiful worlds from previous games have been replaced with tiny neighborhoods with 2D backdrops. The worlds cannot be edited at all, and feel very lifeless and tiny. The game is plagued with "simulation lag" issues, meaning that sim interactions are delayed for up to hours on end, and time frequently skips, which can sometimes make the game nearly unplayable. Babies are now just objects, and can no longer be picked up or moved out of their crib. Teens are now identical to adults, both in height and appearance, aside from going to school and being unable to get married/have children. Due to the closed worlds, cars, which had been in every other sims game since TS2, have been excluded, and sims now teleport EVERYWHERE, which quickly breaks immersion. Many NPC characters from previous games have been removed, including burglars, police officers, firefighters, and the social worker. Starving children now disappear in a burst of sparkles since there are no social workers. The Cats and Dogs expansion pack, which, as it's name suggests, only includes cats and dogs, was very devoid of features when compared to previous Pets packs. Whereas The Sims 2: Pets and The Sims 3: Pets included many small pets along with cats and dogs, small pets are a completely separate pack in TS4- My First Pet Stuff, which may very well be the first ever DLC FOR A DLC! This goes to show how greedy EA has become, and how they only care about money at this point.

A lot of user reviews are criticizing certain features for not being there, but a lot of those features are among those added by expansion packed **even in the Sims 3**. When is the Sims ever finished in the base game? Never! That being said, I think that the base game for the Sims 4 is still a great starting point. The way that they've evolved sims' dreams, desires, and emotions adds a whole new aspect to the game that I will never have spent enough hours delving into. I run into glitches and bugs from time to time, but I've been playing the Sims since the beginning and, from what I can recall, sims games have always been that way. It just comes with the territory of a game that's constantly evolving. When I'm playing the Sims 4, I feel like my sims have fuller lives than they ever did before. It's easy to dream up dialogue in your head while you're playing because of all the different emotions and the way that sims engage one another. 4 is personally my favorite installment. Expand

I love this game. This is my first The Sims PC game, I don't know why so many people hate it?. I have found the other The Sims PC games a bit hard but this is easy to pick up and play. The worst The Sims game ever, at least at my opinion, without the free roaming that you already have on the others games, and without many things, like cars. for me, this game is ridiculous, and btw it's fully of loadings.

Stop supporting EA, stop buying their games and encouraging this behavior. Every time you do, the gaming industry takes one more step towards the edge and when it comes around for Sims 8 Deluxe, you're buying DLC just to build a house or put on a shirt. Remember Sim City.

The worst entry of this legendary title. A lazy, shameless and greedy move by EA. Not only the game feels incomplete, but they also butchered the world mechanics that once made this title great in other entries. They expect me to pay for expansions? Hell no!

The Sims games have been part of my life for a long time. I started playing the first one when it was released in 2000 and have played every new release after that. The Sims games have been part of my life for a long time. I started playing the first one when it was released in 2000 and have played every new release after that. Every game in the series have made big improvements, compared to previous versions, and made it a more enjoyable game with new and exciting mechanics. Every game… except The Sims 4.

The Sims 4 takes a few minor steps forward in some areas but takes giant leaps backwards in others. The positives are not many, tough they are worth mentioning. The best change is that it’s now easier and simpler to create a sim and you have greater control over the appearance. And when you play the game your Sims can now multitask, which is a nice change, but not a huge change and don’t make a big difference. Besides that the game runs much smoother than The Sims 3 and you don’t need a good computer to play the game. But that’s about it when it comes to the positives. Sure there are some other new changes like the graphics and the new mood system. But those are neither better nor worse than previous games. They are simply just different and don’t change the game in any meaningful way.

The negatives on the other way are plentiful. Simply put there is less content in every area. There are less traits, less careers, less customizable settings (can’t for example customize how many days every age period should be), less furniture’s/stuff, no open world (which is a HUGE step back), can’t customize clothes, no cars/transportation and on it goes. There is simply less of everything.

But my BIGGEST complaint about the game is the removal of story progression. In this game your neighbors don’t do anything with their life except grow old and die. They don’t get new jobs and promotions, they don’t marry and have kids, they don’t move out and new Sims move in, they don’t make new friends and live an active life. This makes the world feel bland and boring. The only thing that happens is that when a whole family is dead the game generates a new one and move them in. And the way the other Sims in the world act in public areas feels extremely fake and forced. When you go to a public location a lot of Sims spawn in and join in the activities, which is how the game should be. But if you choose to leave and go to another location the majority of the people in the previous location have now also decided to follow you and go to the same place. Which makes it feel like that the only reason other Sims are there is to fill up the background and that they are there for your amusement and not because they want to. Which makes the whole game feel fake and chatters the illusion of a life simulation with real individuals.

This game is a huge disappointment and the only reason I could recommend someone to buy this over the Sims 3 is if their computer can’t handle the Sims 3. Overall it feels like the developers didn’t even try to make a new and exciting game. If they at least would have tried to make something new I could understand that it lacks content compared to previous titles. For example if they made it into an online game or changed the mechanics completely, then I at least could understand the reasoning. But there is no excuse for what has happened to this game and in the end it feels like a money grab without any vision or passion.

Build up the whole collection, and you'll see how charming and entertaining this game could have been, had they not broken it up across a hundred expansions that make the game experience you wanted cost a fortune. There are a few unforgivable features as well, no doubt, such as the loading screens replacing open worlds, as well as the complete inability to edit or create your own maps, which limits those of us who buy this game to build worlds. It also forgets that its target audience was pretty diverse - those who build, for example, were cut right out of the game. City Living brought apartments, but you can't build your own. There isn't even an option to place your own lot size on a map, as you have to work within the confined plots they give you, which are at a minimum as is. And even if you do buy expansion packs, many don't exceed what we already had in past iterations of the series. I really like Sims 4, but it is held down by its limited vision and won't have the longevity Sims 3 had. Expand

A very addictive game. Maybe it isn't as good as the previous Sims releases, however it is definitely worth a play.
However, the base game doesn't come with much content, and if you want the full game experience, you have to pay hundreds of dollars for all the expansion, game and stuff packs they release. While they are worth getting if you play the game lots, they are really overpriced.

I was very wary of this game and kept noticing things that were missing. I started playing because I had nothing else to play and then next thing I knew I had spent 40 hours on the game. Eventually I got a bit bored and eventually was gifted Get Together and Get to Work and that added to the game but definitely not worth the $50 asking price (Get to Work only has 3 careers) . I say this is a pretty good game to eat up some hours but definitely not worth full price. I do love the improved graphics and flow of the game. Sims can now talk while eating and they can walk through each other rather than getting stuck or insisting they can't get past. I think the get to work and get together dlc should have been included in the base game because $89 for sims 4 plus $50 for get to work plus $50 for get together is an absolute joke (just like the 'Australia tax' on games in general).

Edit: (score dropped) EA should quit making games and go into the casino business. They know what they did. Loot boxes and micro transactions can go to hell, EA is destroying gaming. This is too far and it's time to make a stand.

Its then up to you to fulfill your sims needs based on their characteristics and traits you choose at the start…
I was an athletic romantic husband with a smart and crazy wife, and a charming toddler..
Eventually my wife and child would signal they needed certain items so it was up to me to get a job to afford entertainment for them to keep them preoccupied and happy..
As my mai n character didn’t need too much.. he just needed to workout to keep his mind clear..
But my wife needed mental support, she needed help with our child, cleaning the house, repairing items, while she took breaks to be with herself.. hide from the world a little bit, talk to herself to calm herself down, she had a need to make friends and discover, she has a dork so she needed to play video games to stay happy, another thing for me to take care of…
I was surprised how invested I ended up being in my sim family, of making sure my wife was happy, that I gave her just the right amount of attention and free time…
That I took her on dates and cheered her up by being dumb…
Ending our days occasionally making sweet love…
Which brings me to baby making.. your sims can get pregnant and have babies..
And youll check on your wife constantly, feel her tummy, make her feel beautiful and wanted while you you wait for the baby to come out…
this is how I chose to live my sim life, but you can live yours any way youd like.. you can start out single and go out into the world.. just focus on earning cash to build a massive house…
    Its all up to you..
And you can go back and forth between the different members of your family and interact with eachother any way youd like, you can roll play, make them fight, or keep them happy… or just let the sims do their thing on their own..
I enjoyed my first sims experience..

I won't go into all the nitpicky details of stupid design choices. The bottom line is: this is an extremely unfun game. Everything feels clunky and awkward, I'm not sure if that's due to the general empty vibe the game gives off, but there is very little flow to gameplay. It's hard to describe how the sims4 base game is inferior to the sims3 base game. It's not the lack of open world (though that is a feature I sorely miss), I think it's just the depth of gameplay and little fun details. The sims3 felt fun, light hearted, and playful, but very complex. The sims4 just feels very flat, there's very little depth to gameplay. I gave sims4 a chance and played about 10 hours, but I have already uninstalled the game and just wish I could get my money back.

I am literally counting down the days until they make a REAL sims game, so here's to hoping sims5 will receive the time and care to properly produce it, to make it an improvement on the already established game concepts that work in sims2 and sims3. In the meantime, I'll be playing sims3, even if it causes my computer to kill itself.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Expand

It's no longer a "life simulation" game but (per EA's own words) the Sims franchise is now a "time management" game... a shallow, wrist-slitting, boring, truncated, iPad-oriented, numbing, braindead-and-drooling-pools-of-saliva stupid... "time management" game. EA has gleefully destroyed this franchise and scraped it flaming and wavering in stink on our faces.

    Disappointed.
I was hyped about sims 4 CAS and new build mode options, but when the game actually came out, a lot of things were unnecessarily removed.
First of all: Open world. I loved the fact we had open world in The Sims 3, it made the game more realistic (it is a life simulation game after all) and it was a huge step forward. And now with better graphics and all, we got back to,

Second of all: Freestyle modifications like Create a style tool in build and CAS mode were removed. After all these years it's impossible they didn't notice we like to create our own style and for example, be able to create L type stairs. If you don't want us to do this, AT LEAST import it in game and give us more options/designs to choose from. EA couldn't care less about their fans opinions and wishes.
Third: Prices. Base game doesn't have cars, toddlers or anything and it is instead added in patches? Base game is basically like bread, and if u want a burger you are forced to buy all expansions (which are about the same price as the base game?). There is NO discount if you buy more expansions, so if you like the game and want to play it, you will end up spending at least $300 for all expansions.
I don't know what the point of giving us a few upgraded things and removing all the awesome stuff was, but to me it seems terribly greedy, since I believe all of this will be added again in the sims 5 so people will think "oh, wow we have open world with great graphics and so many options i need this", which should've been there in the first place.
Everyone hates EA for a reason(s). Extremely greedy and don't care about their fans wishes at all

It's not a bad game, But way too expensive

The base game it self is OK, i spent hours on end playing it and it was decent But if you expect to have fun without paying here and there, it's definitely Not going to last very long.
if you'll consider buying expansions and modding the game will be playable

I really don't recommend the Sims 4. I never played any of the Sims (1,2, or 3) and I had watched some humorous Youtube videos that gave me a false sense of the enjoyment/fun I'd have playing so I went ahead and bought it when Origin offered a sale. I never played any of the Sims (1,2, or 3) and I had watched some humorous Youtube videos that gave me a false sense of the enjoyment/fun I'd have playing so I went ahead and bought it when Origin offered a sale. I regret that purchase. For one, they're offering it even cheaper now, so at least if I bought it now, it would have been less money to have wasted. But mostly, I would have not bought it at all had I known then what I know now. First off, I hadn't had the game that long and I didn't play it that much and I tried to get a refund, but Origin never acknowledged me. Then the time I would imagine elapsed so instead of having the game on my computer taking up space, I played it. It was fun at first because I like building the houses and creating the families, but after that, the game play was hollow. It was literally doing tasks over and over and hardly anything I would maybe have found fun. Send your sim to work, make them eat, make them cook food, send them to the bathroom, take care of the endlessly needy baby sims that don't do anything aside from lay in their cribs. Then I added in some content like different houses but many houses I found to download required expansion packs I wasn't ready to pay for. It's already expensive to play the base game, to add in all these other packs would be well over $100. Unless you get a sale and even then, you could buy 5 packs at $20 and still spend an arm and a leg. This game is a hollow shell. You get lured in setting it up. You waste an hour or more setting up the family , the house, getting it all going. Then if you add in more Sims and houses and maybe some mods for different things, the game starts to malfunction. One baby I had was invisible. You have to load a new screen to visit anything. A neighbors house, the park, whatever, it's all waiting. This game is set up so that you're wasting so much time. I thought this would be fun and stupidly I bought the game and now I know that the Sims isn't for me. Maybe you'll like it, but if you never played it before like me, it's not that fun. I'd rather get some other type of game than this, or invest in a console. Not at all pleased with my purchase, not happy with Origin's customer service. I thought I had x amount of time and game play to test it before I had to let them know I wanted a refund, and even though I thought I fell within those ranges I still was never refunded or even acknowledged with an explanation as to why I didn't receive a refund. There are more fun games. This is playing house if you want to act out real life. I don't want to feed Sims all day long. I don't want to play for 3 hours and only get a house built and regular tasks like showering or using the bathroom done. Sometimes my Sims wouldn't do as I was playing them to do and they'd have a bladder failure or get really tired. Oh well. I will chalk this up to a waste of money. I hate this game now. Expand

The games is alright. Most of the UI is an improvement and things like dating have been dramatically improved, even interactive. The AI is much better, my sim's date actually shows up on his own fairly often. At the moment the neighborhoods are just too small and without more content the game is just mediocre. There isn't really anywhere to go or anything to do.

It should be called loading screen simulator. There is no town, nothing really. Not even CC can save this mess. Overpriced on all levels. Why does this even exists on the shelves it's a greatest mistery. Talking about anything else or about it's halfassed overpriced expansions is pointless. Sims series are dead for me EA games is finished forever. I will care again for Sims games when itIt should be called loading screen simulator. There is no town, nothing really. Who ever plays this and praises this game or EA is an lost idiot not sure what else to say about them. Sadly looks like there will be always some amount of clueless people trowing money at EA and EA will ofc milk them with their unfinished products. So congrats to those people being idiots and funding the broken corporate world. Hope you're proud of your self, being an lost idiot.

While an enjoyable title that has been polished up and seems generally very modern, it cannot be expected that The Sims 4 is not going to be compared to The Sims 3. In this respect, it seems that while the game took a few steps forwards, it also took a few steps backwards by abandoning features that were very helpful and appreciated in the previous versions. It does have new features that people have been waiting for, such as emotions and more personality for the Sims. As for now, for some players it may not quite be worth to abandon The Sims 3 for it, but for new players looking for a first experience with the franchise, they may have an easier time navigating than former The Sims 3 players. People that have previously enjoyed the latter may be disappointed by the menus (Sim creation, building, or navigating town), as they have been so massively oversimplified that they are now actually confusing.

The Sims 4 is just a foundation of a game. How would you react if you bought a new Elder Scrolls game and realized that half of the cities are unavailable (because TES6: World Adventures is around the corner), there are only 4 weapons (TES6: Accessories), you can’t ride horses (TES6: Pets), there are only 12 quests (TES6: Careers), 2 guilds (TES6: Friends) and 3 spells (TES6: Supernatural)?
