this is without doubt the best wrpg i have played so far.
Im completly obssesed with it, and i obssese over a game like once a every 5 years.
Also you dont need a very powerful pc to run it, which is great.
    great writing.
I would love for it to have a radio tho, i just mute the bgm and play a fallout 24/7 radio on youtube

Really solid... Engaging characters, a cool story/premise and fun combat!

Look, in TODAY'S climate of gaming... This is a very welcomed 9/10. A 7/10 during the peak of gaming, but today I will deserve it more for not succumbing to the vile practises and laziness of the standard used today. Very very solid, worth the money...

It is a nice gdr, nice and irreverent but not trivial, the political plots, often based on a critique of extreme capitalism, are well built, even if the choices to be made often respond and will be a dichotomy between being good or bad. The shooting system is good, nothing exceptional, but the possibility of slowing down time for critical hits on the joints, the variety of weapons, the special moves of the comrades and an absent lag is one of the best among the RPGs. The technical comparison is instead just enough, when you open the game for 30 seconds it lags and graphically seems to see a game released in 2012, moreover the faces of the various characters are almost all similar; all in all, however, it is forgivable given the low budget and however a valid impact of the whole. The dialogues are very well organized and dubbed, which manage (often even in the most minor missions) to let us get to the heart of the story and never let us get bored. Ultimately I would definitely recommend it despite certainly not lacking in flaws

This game is making me not miss playing Fallout New Vegas. And that is a good thing, seeing as FNV is my favorite game of all time. But we'll see if this is just new car-smell or if it really will last. I think it'll be the latter, because the writing, the characters and the gameplay is just marvellous. I do miss the free-roaming open landscape of FNV though.

The game is very good and well polished. My only complain is that I don't like the graphic too much because colors are very saturated and bright and I just can't get used to it. Everything else is just good. I saw a lot of people comparing this to fallout but to be honest this is just a new Kotor in a different universe.

I'm actually blown away by how much character this game has, and I was really skeptical of another borderlands-like sci-fi/wild west frontier hybrid.

Bioware we love is gone. Obsidian and CDPR have taken their honorable place as creators of serious, well crafted, superbly written RPGs made with passion.

Outer Worlds is an Open World RPG that balances REALLY well combat and game machanics, offers good dialog and an interesting, albeit not very unique, setting.
First let's talk about character creation and progression. It's really clear that a LOT of inspiration was taken from fallout games. There are skill points, perks, attributes and a background choice. There are three big differences between this process in Outer Worlds and other similar games. The first one is: Every stat, skill and background choice is clearly explained. Not like in most Bethesda games where there is just a vague explenation like "strenght increases your melee combat damage and carry capacity". Ok. But by how much? Or "perception makes you shoot better". Does perception gives me better acurracy, damage, or does it decrease gun spread? Second: Outer World goes into a lot of detail on how stats and skills affect your character, it is WAY easier to build the character you want. It is simplified without losing depth. This is not a complicated game, all skills have clear benefits and give you sepecial "mini-perks" every 20 points invested into it. You level up skills by group until a skill gets to level 50, then you have to invest points directly into it. That gives you the option to have a character that can do a multitude of tasks and gives you a LOT of choices on how to act on quests and problems, without giving you a complete useless character in combat Third: attributes, skills and perks have a REALLY big impact on how you play. They have meaningfull bonuses, if above average, and penalties, if below average. There is also a perk sistem, some perks are somewhat generic but some of them will change the way you'll play. Best of all, none of the perks are auto-includes, you'll have to think about what's better for you, depending on your playstyle. The combination of these three things makes creating a character simple, fast, satisfying and it doesn't punish you too much when you make "bad" choices leveling up, no min-maxing needed.
Combat: Well, it's the best combat a first person open world-bethesdalike RPG has. Guns are fun. They feel really good, from granade launchers to pistols. They have weight and good soundeffects. Melee feels way better than most first person RPGs, it'sl fun, but there is a lot of room to improve. That being said Outer Worlds melee it's WAY **** better than Skyrim's and all Bethesda Fallout games. Melee weapons feel like they pack a punch. In addition to that there is also bullet time, which makes shooting WAY more diverse and fun. It also gives some interesting options to melee characters.
Another very important mechanic is dodging. Dodging gives combat A LOT of depth, new ways to avoid attacks, new ways to aproach enemies and having mobility in a FPS is a BIG breath of fresh air. You don't just sit in your ass shoting from cover, ou just run up to your enemies with a big stick furiously pressing right-click. There are better and way more fun options. And considering that games like these usually hava a lot of bland, cookie cutter combat that feels way more like an afterthought than a core part of the game Outer Worlds shines on making combat fun.
Companions are just bullet sponges with passive perks for your squad, not a lot fun using them, but they can help. You can always go solo and gain bonuses for that!
Story and Setting: The setting is just Borderlands without the cartoon-like visuals, a grayer pallete and added capitalistic distopian theme. Some areas are dull, some are beautiful and some are average. It's not the game's biggest strength, but it's good enough. Grafics are average. Faces have way more expression than most open world games, this helps a lot with dialog.
The story is better than most of the open world games, choices don't matter a lot, it's a little too linear and short, but the dialog is awesome, companions have excelent character exploration, and good development. It feels a lot like what mass effect did with it's companion development. You go out, do quests for them, talk to them and that's it. It would be cool to have affection meters and a little conflict with your decisions by the companions, but the most important is there and is done really well.
About the humour. it's Blackadder in space. Snarky jokes and dumb people getting in dumb situations. A lot of the NPCs and characters act like stooges, but it's fun! Just don't go expecting a gloomy and serious game like Fallout 3, or a mix of gloomy and humour like Fallout New Vegas.
The last thing to add. The game is short compared to open worlds like Skyrim a and Fallout. But the content is more concentrated, there is way less downtime walking or doing other boring things and a lot of replayability.
If you like borderlands, the fallout series, mass effect series and snarky humour it's a game for you! If you want a serious game, with a serious story and grimdark characters don't even get close to Outer Worlds.

In my opinion the best RPG of the year. Dialogue system is as good as in Fallout New Vegas and for me it should be new Fallout. Outer Worlds reached my expectations and gave my marvellous experience in 2019.

The game hit all the right spots for me and i am extremely happy for the genre. Great dialog system, choices do matter and above all everything is so well made considering the budget that makes you wonder what Obsidian would have made if they had more money. The only downhill are the graphics and the optimize which seems luck-luster.
Overall an enjoying game with high potentials for the sequel!

It's a really enjoyable game regardless, but it has problems of it's own that prevents this game from being the amazing game we've been expecting for years.

Outer Worlds has great art-style with interesting colors that makes it real eye candy. Even though maps are small for the sake of not being empty, but they still feel empty regardless.

It has funny dialogue lines and a good story, as expected from obsidian studios. However, conversation skills are way overpowered in this game as you can mostly always use either persuasion, intimidation or lie in any dialogue or during combat.

Companions are below average, they're half hit and half miss. Without spoiling, favourite companion is the poster girl as she's one of the most unique characters Obsidian has ever created imo. There are 1-2 other companions which I kinda like (Ashley Burch? yes please) but the rest of them... They're simply boring and uninteresting. Which is a shame.

In combat, companions are not useful outside of being meat shields for the player. They each have special abilities with cutscenes, but they're all the same which deals some damage with cooldown. Also they're impossible to keep alive, but unless you're playing on survival difficulty they get back up after each fight.

Gameplay is the main problem with this game. Economy is broken and it's absolutely insane easy to get rich real quick. Enemies are very easy and stims (healing items) are everywhere so I recommend playing the game on at least Hard Mode. Melee is terrible and almost unplayable.

Leveling up lets you increase your skills and unlock perks, which give you stat boosts. They aren't quirky and character defining like in the fallout series, and leveling up isn't really that exciting other than having more hp and damage and stuff.

Apparently there's a crafting system in the game, but the game is designed so that you don't need to do so. Wherever you go, enemies with higher levels drop better items and loots which is similar to Borderlands in that regard. You could craft a really good weapon for your level, and 2 levels later a random average weapon that a bandit drops will be superior.

Story is okay but very short. You can choose sides with various companies, and there's a reputation system but it's only for getting discounts on whoever you sided with. Lack of 3rd person view bothered me considering the depth of character creation but it's acceptable.

Overall it's definitely an enjoyable game, don't let all the 5 ratings discourage you, and don't make up your mind without giving the game a shot as it deserves it. Final rating: 7/10

Side quests are interesting, but are utterly pointless as they reward you with nothing but more currency, which you won't really need a lot of by the time you finish the game. Plus, there aren't many things to spend it on, either then weapon mods, which you can completely ignore using or buying if you want. Being a game with open areas, I expected there to have been a larger variety of environments, but they were overall somewhat boring. There is not a lot of content in these environments. In other RPG games, such as Fallout and Skyrim, there are plenty of small details put into the world that makes the player want to explore. In this game, I personally didn't feel that there was any point in exploring. There is no endgame. This game is an adventure RPG, so there are quests to do, things to find, areas to explore. So not being able to leave the final area after completing the game, like in Undertale, is a highly questionable decision. This game does a lot right, but is overall somewhat underwhelming, especially since my expectations had been set to the standards of Bethesda's open-world RPGs, where I feel there is much more depth to the RPG elements and where exploration is rewarding. Where The Outer Worlds lack in when compared to these games, they shine in performance. NO BUGS. Every single open world RPG Bethesda title has always been well thought out worlds that were built by highly creative and imaginative individuals. These worlds have captured millions of hearts in such away that people fan over them despite the absolute horrendous performance of these games. Skyrim launched a broken mess, and yet is now considered to be one of the best games to have ever existed. But The Outer Worlds? All the bugs squished. Of course I have ever encountered a few minor issues, but nothing overwhelmingly game breaking. Overall the experience was enjoyable, but not the best RPG that I have played in my opinion. Many elements of the game are simply "eh", from the shooting, to the quests, to the worlds and are simply outshined by games that I have already played. I am unable to vouch for whether or not you will enjoy this game, but I feel like there are other games that you can buy for $60USD that are simply more enjoyable. The Outer Worlds is an average game, but it's writing is charming and interesting enough to land it a 7/10 Expand

To start; yes the weapons and enemies are quite boring and indiffirent. This is clearly the biggest flaw to the game. The weapons are really not unique, there are a couple of "science weapons" but they were very unviable and could barely be used. Most of the time I just went with a plasma rifle as it was extremely op to humans, which brings me to the next point.

There is an extreme difference between humans and robots when it comes to fighting. I never had any problem what so ever when it came to fighting human opponents, but as soon as a couple of robots were involved the fight suddenly became quite hard. This might be an intentional design, but at the moment the difference is frankly too much.

The game does of course not disappoint when it comes to RPG and storytelling. The story was compelling and I felt empathy for the characters as most of them were quite likeable. The story had several tough choices which I had a tough time deciding at the time, there was sadly too little consequences to the choices I made. The RPG was good, I played as a "scientific" character which specced into science and medicine. These skills were often used in dialog, but neither these or persuasion could be used to affect the ending like you can in New Vegas.

The game was also sadly too short for the price in my opinion, but I eagerly await the dlcs and updates.

Summary: the game is fun and I absolutely recommend getting it while it's on sale. The RPG and story is the main elements while the combat is sadly lacking. And as fun as it was, it is not close to the level of New Vegas.

But sooner or later you will start noticing that the game lacks content, although while gametime wise it can be a fine 30-40 hours or more, but there's really not much.
The game has like 10-15 generic NPC faces (what is slightly change by hair color and such), and maybe only some story related character's face can be remembered.
The goomd soon falls in the boring, because you meet with the same enemy, the same loot, the same buildinds, structures, the same animals on every planets, the loot is also starts to be boring because there are like 10 different gun and the rest is the same, just the name and properties differ.

It would be a good game, you can choose between the better and the worse side what is casual but at least you have a choice, but soon you will just do the missions for achievement or completion wise, not because you care. The planets are abandoned, plain, After a while you just jump from fast travel point to another to do fetch quests, watch loading screens half the time. The skill tree is lacking creativity. After choosing 2-3 perks i didn't care about it anymore because none of them made too much usefullness, and the fighting system is very weak, the AI is not soo bright.

I recommend it to those who likes discovering and adventures in places or just the Fallout feeling, but those who looks for complicated story, RPG it's not the game you are looking for.

This game will obviously be compared to fallout new vegas because the whole pitch of the game was that it was made by the guys that created fallout, so in coming in I expected I will have to make hard choices and carefully choose who i align myself with, for instance in new vegas you knew that both factions had good and bad qualities and you had to live with what you choose, in this game there's no such a thing.

Very uneven writing. Very disappointing for Obsidian. It's ok. Barely. But not great, or even good.

    Cons:

    1. Graphics are AWFUL. I have no idea what people are talking about when they say it's a beautiful game. The artwork is nice but this is graphically on par with KOTOR or maybe Fallout 3. It's so bad it's beyond distracting. And I like retrogames like Wasteland 2 but it doesn't work as well in a FPS.

    2. Writing is very uneven. Some things are very funny, others are painful to read through, especially a lot of the "relationship" quests.

    3. Crashes frequently. Hard crashes, that require full restart.

    4. On Hard, I had unlimited money, just didn't feel that challenging overall.

    5. 30 Hours in, still disappointed with all the corporate intrigue. Maybe it gets better but not very exciting so far. Also, missions themselves are usually very simple and boring.

    6. Monsters respawn too quickly making walking through the same areas unnecessarily annoying. There's no reason to respawn them at all.

    7. Companions always run into your line of fire. Awful AI.

    8. Interface is far wonkier than it should be. I'm looking at armor at one character, switch to another, and instead of seeing their armor, it goes back to the default inventory screen, sigh.

    9. Some of the stat options are confusing. They hit you with a lot of info early without going into it. And then you realize that enhanced stats (like from a character boost) do not trigger special stat bonuses (i.e. you actually need a hard number in the stat to get the bonus like seeing what's in a container from lockpicking, before you add in bonuses from armor etc.).

    Pros:

    1. Fallout in space. AWESOME concept. Would have loved for this game to be well made.

    2. Sometimes the writing is very funny.

    3. Surprisingly fluid gun play, with occasionally good voice acting.

    4. Cute companion interplay.

    5. Quick load times.

While keeping reality at a distance is an acceptable literary form, TOW doesn't know how seriously to take itself. I can't tell if it's a satire of its subject matter or of the type of person who would be entertained by it. It hits you over the head with it's anti-corporate theme until you suffer a concussion, or otherwise start wondering if the employees at Oblivion are trying to tell us something about their working conditions. The target audience of this game is in the early teens, has a pigeon's attention span and is going through a really embarrassing communist phase. Another reviewer likened it to Bioshock: Inifinite, and that's a very apt comparison. It's full of useless power ups, bells and whistles designed to stimulate the reward centre of the brain, campy vending machines at regular intervals, fights that mostly feel the same, and moody and aloof characters who don't suit their dire scenery. The artistry in the game is a visual stomachache that repeats itself ad nauseam because the enemies respawn and the quest markers make you go back and forth across Monarch around thirty times. To give the game credit, it does actually give you some level of choice. I finished it twice, and the second time I sided with the Board all the way to the end. At least a pro-board playthrough is possible, even if there are no grand revelations to be had by doing so. That playthrough was also done on the hardest mode, where your stiff and dull companions can die permanently. The hardest part was keeping them alive to the end. I'm not sure if I'll keep my fondness of Obsidian alive though. I'll think twice before I buy another Obsidian game.

I disagree with the negative reviews. Money well spent. Thoroughly enjoyed to the game. It really put the hook in me. Art, textures, voice acting and dialogue all met or exceeded my expectations. Please continue developing this as a series.

So boring. I'm shocked this got so many good reviews. I follow Obsidian for the amazing storytelling, but every singe character in this game is 1 dimensional. Every line is about how **** the system is and how the character is shallowly reacting to the situation. Nobody feels like a real person reacting to a real situation. The gameplay is basic af, but that would be fine if the story was any good.

Pirated this, played it for two hours and deleted it.

The worst dialogue I've seen since Mass Effect Andromeda. No idea how it has so many positive reviews.

A solid action RPG from Obsidian. While impossible to live up to the hype and expectations from previous games, this is an enjoyable game while maybe missing some of the charm of similar games in the genre. Worth playing, but at times feels forgettable.

There is plenty of fun to be had in The Outer Worlds, but the game has some seriously annoying flaws that really keep it from being a great game. Below I have outlined just the parts of the game that I think could have brought this game into an 8-10 category if they had been executed better.

I'll start with the worst part. The atrocious dialog. The writers seemed singularly focused on

I'll start with the worst part. The atrocious dialog. The writers seemed singularly focused on one thing, get the 'f' word in there as much as possible. The uses of the word become so laughable and it doesn't nothing but distract from every character in the game. The character voices also seem flat, as if there are just two or three voice actors trying to sound like different people. There's hardly any variety in the voices or expressions of the characters. Dialog trails can go on forever if you want them to with really no purpose. I guess if you really want to play the game much longer than necessary you can follow the dialog rabbit trails that usually end up with the same outcome. The dialog alone brings this game down so much more than anything else.

Next up is combat. Nothing about the combat is memorable. It's always the same kind of thing. Run backward and keep shooting until the enemy dies. Sure there are some sniper rifles in the game and some of the weapons are actually kind of interesting. But the combat itself just doesn't have any flare. Where are the grenades? Where are the weapons that could really change how the game plays by setting up traps or at least planning a little combat strategy. The only combat strategy here is do I attack and run backward and shoot, or take another route where I don't have to attack. It gets the job done, but don't expect combat strategy.

Performance could be better. I won't go into detail, but there is a lot of texture pop in that should not be there considering my system specs. I run the game in ultra and most of the time the game is running at +60 fps (outdoors much faster indoors), but there are time the fps dips into the 40s. That doesn't bother me so much, but it seems like when I try to compensate, like turning shadows down to high instead of ultra, I get weird results. There also seems to be this glitch with some of the screen effects (the one that makes things look hot) where I get this weird bright shiny lights and black dots. I'm still trying to figure out what is causing it. I have made it go away by adjusting my resolution down and then back up. But also by turning shadows from high back to ultra. I don't really know what the problem is. I haven't seen it yet running the game fully in ultra settings.

The most interesting part of the game is that your choices really do seem to have some weight. They make a difference in how the game story goes and turns out. And you can off any character in the game, essentially that most just leads to closed story threads. But the game does have a lot of freedom of choice.

I had just finished Fallout New Vegas and was looking for a new single player rpg. Over the last years "outer worlds" was constantly recommended and I always saved it back in my mind for later. When I saw, that the same company that did Fallout New Vegas, also developed outer worlds, I knew I had to play it and I was not disappointed.

I hate lukewarm uncreative unfunny story driven

I hate lukewarm uncreative unfunny story driven games. If the gameplay isn't saving the game for me, I won't play it. Outer worlds thankfully has an interesting universe. Capitalism in it's end state. I had to read every worker log I could fine, because the interactions between corporations and it's workers were so damn funny. Everything is over the top in an ironic fun way.

The gameplay is okay, not what makes you love the game, but it's good enough to go on with the quests and story. The balancing is pretty bad. Playing on hard, I was a pure glass canon, which meant that up until the very last boss fight, I was killing everything within seconds. No real challenge. I never ran out of meds or ammunition. I was picking everything from the ground, didn't even have to steal stuff and still didn't need to buy ammunition or meds. That's why this game "only" get's a 9 instead of 10.

The Outer Worlds' stellar writing takes the spotlight as the game's narrative and the emphasis on choices shine brightly amidst other aspects that are slightly more than mediocre at best.

Is a good game, a good FPS game, as an RPG I found it most lacking in content. There is no reason to go back to previous planets as there is nothing more to do. Cities are small and mostly 3 or 4 quests and you're done, up to the next.

Exploring is almost non existent, only one or two planet is big enough to explore, but there are not secrets or anything really interesting to see out of

Exploring is almost non existent, only one or two planet is big enough to explore, but there are not secrets or anything really interesting to see out of the normal questing areas.

Campaign is good, Story goes very fast but is interesting enough, the characters are nice, but as everything goes so fast you really didn't know them to dept, maybe one or two of the companions. for most of NPC, you see them 1 or 2 times and that's it.

I really like the looks of the game, there is a good variety of weapons looks, even if many play the same. Armors not so much, the major part are just recolors, so there are like 2 armor models, some clothes and that's it. That really doesn't matter at the end because the game is mostly FPP so you never see your character, only in equipment window (And if you're using a helmet, you will never see his/her face or hair for the rest of the game).

As an RPG it lacks a lot, is too short, there's nothing to do outside of the main and some secondary quests (not much of them), replayability is very low, (maybe experience the two of the most different endings), and you will complete everything in 20-25 hours, including secondary quests and going unhurried.

So, i'm giving the game the score as an FPS guided with some nice story, is enjoyable, and very fun to play (Love the humor).

I love all the Fallouts (well, I haven't played 76) and was hoping for some coherent story, evolved game mechanics, meaningful interactions with consequences and emotional involvement. I was disappointed. I value humor in a game, but this game does not take itself seriously to the point that there is no immersion (at least for me). Well this game sucks... The story is uninteresting, the combat is bad and boring. the companions are not interesting except Parvati. Theres a lot of dialogue but is not good i ended up skipping it all the time and the performance on pc is horrible. i guess that the people who liked this game and overlooked the million of flaws it has are die hard fallout fans.

It's a good game and you can see where the idea came from as it's basically a story with many Fallout and Bioshock ideas but it's one of those games that will bore you quickly unless you play it for 2-3 hours, stop then come back to it another day to put in another 2-3 hours.

I really can't see anyone giving this a favourable review if they played the full 30 hour campaign in one or two

Outer World is like fun mix betwen Mass effect done good and fallout done good
-combat is rl simple and melee attacks are hard to connect
-companions skills are okey, but only one for each character made open combat not so enjoyable -character models and npc ai dissapoint the most -female characters looks like trash all of them are so weird and just strange -every character have like

-character models and npc ai dissapoint the most
-female characters looks like trash all of them are so weird and just strange
-every character have like 1 body model with same height and build its just off
-character creator is OKEY if you blink a little and ignore the fact that this is FPP game and you cant even seee your own face in dialogs with npcs :D
-NPCes barely move, some of them are patroling few of them might even visit hause and sleep for a while or just stand there and wait
-Dialogs are good, my character can alvays find fitting response for himself
-Choices in quests are real, 1st map dont give you mush sense of complexity in player choices, but they gets better later and can completly change your experience
    -finaly NPCes are mortal
-Defficulty is a joke, 1st 3 affect only how mush you wanna limit combat to use only most effective tactics/weapons (2x stunning companions and long range rifle)
Supernova offer this hardcore mode features from new vegas, but its all in, you cant just select Enemy dmg/enemy HP/survival elements/mortal companions, take it or swallow "normal" where fun builds are useable
-Grafix are outstanding, besides character models thats looks like sh*t, game areas are great
they looks absolutly stunning, every planet looks diferently and have own theme
-game is utilizing same enemies many times, i know we have it everywhere else, but fuk it i ll point that out everytime its happening as my sign of the protest
-Combat is avoidable/optional you can avoid many conflicts with dialogs or just being sneaky
it will cost you fair dose of experience, but PACIFISM is reward by itself
-You can respec your character quite easily in case if you are struggling to find fitting build to your playstyle - thats ok
-Flaws system is fine, during your adventures your character can gain negative traits that will create some sort of weakness in exchange for perk point, this is not fair deal for the most times, but it is a another choice to build unique character
-Game lack some sort of crafting system or something to utilize most of the loot, items just jump into your inventory and i bet you dont even need to pick up anything just rush thru the game
-Economy is quite solid in The Outer Worlds, selling your junk dosnt get you to the fortune like in most RPGes, but it can help to effort basic needs ammo/healing/drugs
-Dead characters stays dead and every character you meet can be killed
-Your companions and npces have few dialog options to dont say same things over and over
-Character build affect dialogs a lot, sadly for the quests not rl, maybe to unlock most hidden options during specific story path
-Character progression is good, you can feel like every level matters and push your limits, game encourage you to invest points mostly in out of combat skills if you wanna interact with the world, but aiming for combat skills is rewarding
-Perk system for main character and companions sux, some perks looks mandatory for any run, but the rest are like whatever, for companions its kind of worse they gain too few perk points to specialize them in anything fun and never gets 2nd ability which makes them repeat same move to the rest of your adventures
-solo play as lone wolf have pretty mush only downsides, game clearly says "strength in numbers"
companions works in the dialogs, have interactions with random npces, works in combat and are invisible to enemies if they cant see you lone wolf perk cant overcome all perks and sh*ts companions adds to the table
-Armor design is bad, all armours looks weird or okey for best and you cant change colors or customize them anyway, just throw bonus upgrades to weapons and armour and play
    >Unreal engine 4:
--game is optimized rl well wasnt like that for launch exacly, but current state of the game is amazing and enjoyable, game works smothly and have a lot of charm, its easy to alt+tab or get screenshots/quicksaves/stream/anything
-Being UE4 game made The Outer Worlds unmodable - no fun allowed
you wanna have all characters remodeled? NOPE, no fanmade models, no fanmade DLCes
    >Being EGS exclusive
-i cant blame Obsidian for taking this deal, taking off 20% of the costs and getting extra founds alvays helps, just 60$ for Epic game is not something for my stomach and i would strongly advise to think about buying it on epic twice
I played it with Microsoft gamepass, for 1$ and as mush as i dont like such gamepass model, for pearls like Outer Worlds it was worth it, i ll totaly hunt in on Steam or GOG if it will be possible, preferably cheaper than EGS price

The problem with this isn't that it is a bad game (far from it), but the fact that it failed to reach its true potential… or maybe the expectations were simply too high, because there's nothing here that anyone can point to and say that it is terrible. Sadly, there's almost nothing that's great either, apart from the role-playing element and the quality of writing. The gunplay? Ok. The exploration? Decent. The plot? Fine. The dominant feeling here is of a game that is good enough so that you won't hate it, but also not as good for it to be the flawless classic that it could definitely be - but again, that's probably those darn high expectations speaking, because flaws or no flaws, The Outer Worlds shouldn't be missing from any RPG collection.

An excellent effort from Obsidian, and though The Outer Worlds doesn’t surpass its predecessors by offering a world worth visiting over and over, the adventure it presents is more than worth the time spent.

Usually, a planet has just one or two settlements and a bit of wildlands to explore. But that’s for the best – instead of exploring miles of filler content, Outer Worlds keeps you moving from planet to planet, from one tense situation to another. [Issue#241, p.34]
