Bethesda promissed exploration and a next gen game but they lied to us (as always )

Maybe the most boring Bethesda game I've ever played, The main story is uninteresting and most of the characters you meet are beyond generic. Also having you do most of your "exploration" through menus and loading screens is a baffling decision to me. If you liked Fallout 3 you'll love this game because it plays the exact same if there's one thing you can commend Bethesda for it's sticking to their roots for better or in this case for worse, the creation engine needs an overhaul.

Very disappointed with the game. Shallow, boring, uninspiring. Very lazy work from the company I used to respect a lot. Bethesda, you can't just slap a new wallpaper on Fallout 4 and claim you worked on that for 7 years.

Sloppy details, space games where you can't travel in space, and freedom that you don't have. You can see completely degraded producers from previous works such as Skyrim and Fallout 4.

Since they are announced. They sold it as the greatest novelty in the era of gaming, and simply a common RPG but in space and with which you cannot navigate in freestyle or in any style. It has many bugs and on Xbox series S and is poorly optimized and takes a long time to load resources, and its stories are simple. It is simply a $1 Dollar game pass game.

If the game was sold for 20 dollars, if it was made by an indie studio like Spiders and if it can ran without problems on a 1650Ti video card, I would give it somewhere around 4-5 points based on the sum of its advantages and disadvantages. But... this is a product from Bethesda, and Todd says that this is not a broken game, but that you have a bad PC.

Even worse these tiny maps are just random generation environments with the same 3 or 4 dull activities randomly scattered across the map/planet. Scan, scan some more, scan some more and occasionally do dome shooting and lasering same thing and the enemies just run at you and stand in front of you. Or just randomly run from random points. At first I was enjoying the game learning the system , but after 10 hours I was just doing the same thing over and over on similar looking areas. This all might be OK if the story and characters carried you through, but its all modern cringe writing with this ugly unappealing characters we find in so many modern games. After not long I was just skipping dialogue in hopes I could enjoy the game systems..But its just shallow. Leveling is just picking perks, that's it! and then there are few generic crafting chores. Basic stuff where you can't build nothing until you pick the perk then you can use some of that useless junk that weighs you down to make more useless junk cause the game still has to be fair if you dont do crafting.
At first I liked the combat but after not long your just fighting the same red human dudes and handful of alien animals that a spread across all the planet/maps.
Off course then there the woke stuff. Yeh it's all there and it's and crap as it always is.Ugly unappealing chicks everywhere , female empowerment with all leaders being butch and manly woman.. Averting the male gaze. Even the one attractive girl that is your companion is made unappealing by sounding like an irritating posh 70 year old.
I got 15 hour and could go any further, it's just boring.

I wasn't expecting a revolutionary RPG here ... but I was expecting a beautiful one. There is nothing beautiful about this game. The characters, the environments, the buildings, the landscapes.... each as bland and uninspired as the atmosphere is itself.

By far the worst game Bethseda have ever made, and that includes Fallout 76.

World building - wholely unconvincing: Everyone shares one American culture and acts like they are from the 1950's. In many cases the bloody Wild West. And not even the real Wild West but that of John Wayne movies. People wear spacesuits from the 1960's, yet have interstellar travel. Computers run some version of Windows 95. Robots have worse voice simulation software than your iphone. The future is full of hokey morality vending machines, and interstellar coffee shops. Ridiculous. None of the cutting areas of science are explored. It spams out other peoples tropes badly when they were outdated half a century ago. But golden age of sci fi this is not. It is clearly not written by people with any knowledge of sci fi or science.

Writing: I don't want to talk to anyone - including main characters. the writing is juvenile and patronising. Like it was written by a complete amateur.
Graphics. Apart from the pretty character creation, the graphics are rubbish. This is acceptable to some degree with a big RPG, but it extends to the characters who fail to convince as human beings let alone compelling characters.
Gunplay. I can't even see most of the enemies - thankfully there is a label over them, so I shoot that. There is absolutely no sense of connection either hitting someone or being hit. I only know I am being hit when a pop up tells me to use a medipack. The AI is so stupid it doesn't even notice you are there as you fire 20 shots into it.
Exploration: You can't take off and land. Fair enough. But you can't even orbit a planet or plot a course outside a menu. If you try and explore you are confronted by a barren plane, with about as much charm as filler zone in a MMO.
Roleplaying: There is none. You get a few trite options for saying variations of the same thing, that don't seem to do anything at all. I guess you just have to use your imagination.
Everything about it is worse than any previous Bethseda release. I don't see how even mods can save it. At leasrt there previous games had dense interesting starting locations and atmosphere. There is none of that here.
I'm bored. That's it. I can't in all fairness score it more than a 1 - my lowest score ever by at least 5 points. It does almost everything worse than games they made 12 years ago, and has no character, no decent story, no roleplaying options, no decent worlduilding. The much maligned Cybperpunk was light years ahead even at launch.

Arguably the worst single player Bethesda game ever made. Terrible soapy graphics with a green filter that makes your eyes tired. NPCs are terribly stupid, quests are not interesting and there are a lot of loading screens, outdated graphics, the game is not optimized. Terribly boring game and it's not an RPG.. So, this Space Skyrim/Fallout has turn out to be the biggest disappointment of the year. The WORST optimization I've seen since Batman Arkham Knight, coming from a game that has been developed for almost 10 years, and worked with this graphic engine for 20y. Makes no sense.

Despite the performance, the game looks good aesthetic, but not appealing enough.

This is F4 level graphics that lags a lot on my 1080ti (which is 2 years younger than F4).
    Also no russian =(

Game content itself is boring af; I couldn't make myself sit out another finding artifact quest and chase lights in another generic temple. The game is overwhelmingly GENERIC and that's the worst part.

Better go play Skyrim or Mass Effect

The textures are good on characters imho but the lack of shading of shadows especially in the first planet it's just non existent it's really looking bad for a game that runs like a potato on an I7-13700k, Rtx3080, Ddr4 32gb 3200mhz. I fell in love with Starfield. It's my cup of sci-fi and I can't wait to spend the next thirty, fifty, maybe seventy hours here. I enjoy the exploration, the shootouts, the art style, the ship building, and the diverse worlds. I gratefully acknowledge the good optimization and the absence of major bugs. But I can't overlook the flaws. There are bad animations, ugly faces and repetitive moments.[Issue#329]

In a year dominated by sequels to franchise favorites, there was a hope that Starfield would carve its own path to success. While the team at Bethesda should be commended for taking such a big swing, there’s no denying that the game doesn’t feel like a cohesive work. Maybe continued support and future sequels will make something more meaningful out of a work that is clearly deeply enamored with both science fiction and space exploration. Unforunately, this first launch has had far more mixed results than desired.
