A masterpiece. This is the way every software house should think and build a graphic "point & click" adventure game.

The company did a wonderful job incorporating design, characters, plots, and adventure into a well-designed adventure game that is leagues beyond its genre.

Silence offers a captivating mix of innocent delight layered over an undercurrent of wistful sadness, wrapped up in lovely art and music. The story could have done with a bit more flesh on its bones, but it’s filled with nuance and heart.

Silence is a beautiful game that combines emotional themes with breath-taking art and music. It works fantastically as a cinematic experience and takes its players on a concise yet fun adventure, integrating puzzles along the way. Daedelic have done an excellent job exploring the space between life and death, touching on dark and abstract feelings in a delicate and thoughtful way.

Silence sets new standards for the genre, simply looks fantastic and just kept us going - at least for five hours.

Silence is an great game with a very mature story, amazing art and beautifully executed. We don't mind waiting for another five years if the team manages to make another game like this.

A very entertaining and charming fantasy adventure with nicely constructed puzzles. It lacks the punch of the predecessor, though.

While The Whispered World, the successful predecessor to Silence, was a classic 2D-point-and-click-adventure, the developers now are heading into a more modern way of adventure-storytelling. This ends up in a most beautiful designed world with 3D-modelled characters. Using a brilliant way of camera-zooms and –angles, the presentation is a great cinematic-experience. The gameplay itself is focused on an emotional story and filled with more casual puzzles and dialogues than before. We’ve missed some more challenging riddles and more story-depth concerning the side-characters. Depending on how many in-game tips you’re using, Silence took you just about 5 up to 7 hours to complete.

Silence is a breathtakingly beautiful game. There are so many moments where I just stopped and stared at what was going on around me.

A bite-sized portion of melancholia topped with just enough sweetness to make the journey easier to swallow. It’s a cascade of metaphor, both obvious and subtle, that can wind you unexpectedly even as you delight in its beauty.

A delightful point'n click adventure with lots of deep characters and an interesting plot, decorated with an impressive artistic aspect. It may be too easy, but it's very enjoyable.

One does not enter a wonderland by good luck. Last time Noah came to Silentia, he was in deep coma. Now the journey will be triggered by a military-grade explosive. Fortunately, this wonderland is forgiving – it’ll be glad to see Sadwick back and it will welcome little Reny with open arms. But it doesn’t forget anything either – Noah destroyed it last time around, so now it’s time to face the consequences. [Issue#215, p.62]

Silence is an enchanting tale that will make you cry and laugh with its excellent atmosphere, storyline and graphics. Even though everything looks and feels great, the difficulty level is very low and there are no demanding puzzles. You need to ask yourself what kind of gamer you are and what you find most important.

Silence is a great follow-up to the Sadwick's Chronicles: Whispered World with a great story and awesome visuals. The gameplay is quite simple with easy enigmas and a short lifespan, but those drawbacks are nothing in comparison with the game's qualities.

Appropriately dreamlike with its narrative that shifts from one strange moment to the next, Silence bounds from powerful emotion to powerful emotion in its last couple of hours, and there's a sense here that these are the feelings that developer Daedalic wanted to stir the first time around.

A risky gamble of simplification and modernization from Daedelic, Silence might be a bit too simple, too easy and short to impress hardcore fans, but it is an excellent stepping stone into the genre for new gamers and one of the most incredibly looking games of all time.

Silence is a charming if challenging adventure in a world of dreams with inventive, if sometimes harder than necessary, puzzles. The setting and a gorgeous aesthetic add to the charm. Great voicework with interesting characters make this worth a look.

It’s more than obvious that “Silence” is some kind of experiment from Daedalic Entertainment. It will most likely disappoint fans of traditional point ‘n’ click adventure games, but at the same time it may prove attractive to a wider, more casual and mainstream audience, like fans of Telltale Games’ creations.

In order to get the most out of Silence, one must approach it as a narrative with light brain teasers that require patience. If that is in mind, then the time spent with this title is completely enjoyable.

Breathtaking graphics, beautiful soundtrack, poignant ending—unfortunately these are not enough to carry a game through to the end. Silence feels like an ambitious project that got cut short, and it's unfortunate considering the exponential room for growth in the game.

Good point and click adventure game with gorgeous visuals and deep emotional story set in a magical fantasy world. Sadly, the experience is way too short, the game mechanics are extremely simple, and it leaves you wanting for more in the end.

I would compare Silence to The Night of the Rabbit or Harvey’s New Eyes, which means it’s decent but lacks quite a bit to be superb. [01/2017, p.48]

After so many years, Daedalic still couples technical mastery with silly amateur mistakes. On one hand, there is a story that screams "Shoot me now!", ill-conceived puzzles, and awful QTE sequences. On the other hand, it's an audio-visual feast in an alluring world with cute characters that, sadly, do not have much to do in this story.

Successor to The Whispered World didn’t make it to the developer’s Hall of Fame. The game abandons the principles of a classic adventure game and tries to push on more action playing style like are games from Telltale Games studio – not very successfully to be honest.

I'll start stating that I really liked The Whispered World.
And I really wanted to love this. I really, really, did. I tried to close both my eyes in front of its shortcomings.
But at some point, I couldn't anymore.
Gameplay is bad. There's no way around it. There's no inventory, just clicks on the scenes and move the mouse. It's super easy. Just click, no brain required. No "classic" puzzles. Dumbed down interface designed for gamepads. Why the hell are we **** up potentially amazing adventure games so much just to accomodate them to consoles? Really pisses me off.
Every time you move from a location to another (and sometimes you have to do it quite often, repeatedly) there's a loading screen... and loading times are ATROCIOUS. They're WAY too long and happen WAY too often. It's exhausting. It's intolerable.
Game is quite slow. Like, annoyingly slow. You can't skip animations, and some of them (like the insect that flies on the mushroom at the beginning, or Spot that does an action that you may have to repeat many times to solve the puzzle) are kinda long and take control away from you for TOO MUCH TIME, it's extremely annoying. Which leaded to an exponential increase of the game's duration because I alt-tabbed A LOT out of sheer boredom... which only makes things worse because the game autopauses when you do it (I absolutely hate when games do this: *I* should decide when to pause).
The good things... I love the setting. I'm really intrigued by the story. The characters are interesting. It's well written. Artistically, I am really impressed by it. It's absolutely beautiful: the scenery is really amazing, the 3D models are well designed and - astoningshly - don't feel out of place in the 2D backgrounds (as a general rule, I still prefer 2D characters and animations, though), the animations are smooth. It's truly a beauty to behold and it has a poetic, heartwarming quality on itself. Some characters (like Kyra and her bizarre head) do have some weird proportions, though.
The musics are also good. Voice acting can be extremely dull and toneless, though.

I love it for the story and the characters. I hate it for the gameplay.

The bigges feature in TWW2 is its artstyle: the way Daedalic blends 2D and 3D is something I've never seen before. It definitely feels like the future of 2D, and I'm sure many other titles in the future will use that awesome technique.

So far, I'm loving the story and the characters are charming, despite the general dark tone. Everything's amazing!
