Oct 16, 2015Developers are liars and treat there players as garbage, and turned the game into a microtransaction game. You can't play this game withouth microtransactions.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS! -
Oct 16, 2015I have 500 + hours in in Payday 2. This game was once my favorite co-op. Ever since the Crimefest update (10/15/15), to me this game became more of player competition than teamwork.

More skins
More balance
More bugs
More dlc
More pay2win content pls
Thank you for the unique incomparable example of the annihilation of the game that everyone loved so much , I suspect that the next step will be paid UNIQUE glow in the dark mask which will need to make a unique achievement in the unique maps of DLS using weapons of DLS .Oh wait , it already is -

Oct 17, 2015They went on record to say that they would not add microtransactions.
So what did they do?
They added microtransactions.
Good job.
One point, because when the game didn't suck, it was pretty good.
But that's all in the past.
They did an excellent job screwing the pooch. -
Oct 17, 2015Payday2 used to be a good game. Then I got screwed over many times by the developers. This time it was the last time. Adding microtransaction in a game allready full with dlc? overpriced p2win skins? Lying? hell no not going to play this game anymore untill overkill is going to revert their microtransactions
-
Oct 18, 2015p2w skins RIP
A game filled with bugs, DLC's and now micro-transactions.
Avoid buying this, just buy anything else, it's better.
Falsely advertised. I still love Payday, but moneywhoring Overkill is dead to me. -
Oct 19, 2015Stay the hell away from this game AND Overkill. It's really not worthy of your time or attention dear Customer, unless you like being deceived, lied to, ripped off and then politely asked to shut up about it.

Oct 20, 2015progression from an amazing coop shooter to a pay2content
in the beginning free and paid dlc were balanced now its garbage
with the original game itself you dont have access to like 75 % of the weapons ? with some of them being game changing (he shotguns, sniper etc...) -
Oct 20, 2015Look, a lot of us got over the fact that Overkill decided to spam mediocre DLC every couple of weeks, but micro-transactions? Screw you, not only did you promise from the start that there will never have micro-transactions. Disgusting, absolutely disgusting.
I'm not even angry with Overkill anymore, I'm just straight up disappointied. -

-
Oct 21, 2015If Crimewave safes and drills were 100% free, dropped every match, this would still be bad, because the safes are not smart loot. Game is now pay to play, pay to dlc, and pay to win.

Oct 26, 2015**** MT's... and all the **** that they bring, it's just utter bull****.. No one in the gaming world likes MT's other than the bull**** game companies that see their loyal fanbase as nothing more than wallets... I would have given 0 as a score, but since I have hundreds of hours playing up till now i'll give them 1
-
Oct 26, 2015no borderless window option, cloakers wallhack to get you down, weapon balance is a disaster, stealth is boring after first run, explosive ammo is overpowered for shields and dozers, good developers left this boat and the ones staying lie to the community, tons of bugs being pointed since years and not solved, mods are unusable, this gaem is a shell of what it was
-
Oct 27, 2015Twas good in the beginning. But more and more "buy it" options spoiled the game. It was kinda OK when those options included unnecessary things, like new skins, but introducing microtransactions, that change balance... nah.

Oct 27, 2015Game was great, now this microtransaction crap? 100+ dollars in dlc? dont make enough money? bull. I bought this game on sale last year durning crime fest. Was great put in 200 hours with in 1 month. Now, now I barely touch it cause all the dlc that came out made it more pricey. I go out of my way to look for key sites to buy dlc.
-
Oct 27, 2015way too many dlc's and with the adding of micro-transactions it just put a colossal strain on the community. they from a sell point with pre-orders, said there would be no micro-transactions yet now there is. players constantly lose connection to hosts and game can also crash, I wouldn't even recommend this game to my worst enemy.
-
Oct 28, 2015One there was a great game. Then it got stuffed with ton of DLCs. But that wasn't enough, so they added microtransactions. Now it's just a money vacuum.
-
Nov 13, 2015why overkill? I wasted so much on hope for something good in the cop and you giving me just a chance 1/25 that I would get only 1 bloody skin? I used to play and love ur game, but this bs with cop... no more ovk. no more dlc's. that would be great life.

Nov 16, 2015Good game.
Used to be. Before Overkill introduced microtransactions and skins that boost guns' stats. Despite claiming they hate them and that they will NEVER cripple their game with MTs. Dick move, OVK, dick move.
Oh, and there are also DLCs with owerpowered weapons like flamethrower, minigun or RPG.
1/10 just because it's still fun. Sort of. -
Nov 28, 2015Game's not unpleasant, but shockingly overpriced and unbalanced. Fun mechanics buried under too many updates.
Shooting's fun, special enemies are decent. Matchmaking isn't dreadful. Unlocks, microtransactions and DLC work like a free-to-play MMO. Payday 2's turned into the sort of game you need to make your full time job. -
Dec 27, 2015There is not much more that I can say that hasn't already been said by those more eloquent than I. My opinion is of the same line of thought as what TotalBiscuit and Jim Sterling having said in several of their videos.
-
Jan 3, 2016Okay; Payday 2 IS a super cool game. BUT it was AWFULLY RUINED by the f*****g developers' greed that led to f*****g microtransactions.
I'll change this game's score once the microtransactions will be gone. -
May 26, 2016Game has very small areas in each location and the game get you to do the same thing over and over to level up e.g. get 4 bags of loot and move it to truck but you can only carry 1 bag at a time . Very boring .Story is also weak and boring .
-
May 22, 2021Thankfully i didn't have to buy this as I played it at a friends , why this game took so long is anyone's guess it just has so many bad point's both with bugs and the playability of the game itself.
-
Sep 23, 2022voice acting all right .
game soo monotony.
have worst animation.
a ton bugs and unoptimized.
lore is awful.
have many useless dlc.
worse character design.

Nov 1, 2015For a $20 game it is pretty nice...until you factor in the $110 of DLCs which isn't even the worst part since they decided we should pay them more money to buff our weapons with skins that contribute stats values.
$2.50 to open the new crates that will give you a skin for a weapon you might not even have. -
Oct 18, 2015I've had it with this company. The shame is, this game has/had insane potential.
I play this game on pc and xbox one (which is still broken since release date, they released a HUGE patch that fixed nothing)
They keep churning out content without fixing what's broken first.
And now, micro transactions.
It's like they're trying to commit developer suicide. -
Oct 29, 2015Would have recommended this game heartily in the past. Not any more. Game's been changed into an enormous fee-2-pay game, with a hefty asking price, an enormous amount of DLC, on top of one of the most annoying implementations of microtransactions, a pay-to-win one at that. Avoid.
-

-
Oct 26, 2015This game has been ruined by pure greed on the developers and their refusal to listen to to the community. Excessive DLC and Micro transactions. Stay away. I will never give another penny to these developers.
-
Oct 25, 2015After Almir's recent unflinching stance on the horrid microtransactions and the Completely OVERKILL pack content being untruthful to the description, along with other offenses Overkill has made, I see no reason to support them further. Here's my farewell to the devolving studio - I look forward to their future projects, and wish their reputation a bitter end.

Oct 18, 2015Welcome to Payday 2, land of DLC's and microtransactions upon microtransactions. I put in over 1000 hours into this game and believed in OverKill. Now our reward for being loyal customers is the option to pay more money for what was promised as free content. Considering PD2 has more DLC than any other FPS Multiplayer out there today is this really necessary? I think no.
-
Oct 18, 2015$100+ worth of DLC, cross-franchise promotions, and yet they still need to ruin their game further with microtransactions. If you continue playing this game despite this, you are part of the problem, not the solution, and I sincerely hope you regret putting money down on Payday 2.

Oct 19, 2015they gone and made a really good game about killing cops robbing banks into a dlc micro transaction nightmare i used to love payday 2 but then it turend into the typical EA transaction moar i would under stand if thye had servers to cost upkeep but its all done local host so like whaat
-
Oct 26, 2015Really? Microtransactions? In a full priced game? Clearly the devs don't care about the players or community. And that AMA was a spit in the face. Your money grabbing is going to ruin your career, oh the irony.
-
Oct 26, 2015Overkill promised no pay to win.
People threw bundles of money at a great game including my friends and I.
Then it was made pay to win. Stay the hell away! -
Oct 20, 2015
-
Oct 25, 2015The game released and had solid updates, but the developers are did their best to ruin the game with obnoxious DLCs and the recently added microtransactions. Payday 2, as the only notable game of its genre, is now plagued by the worst of the worst business practices. Shame on OVERKILL for cashing in, delivering a surefire middle finger to the whole community.
-
Oct 16, 2015The developers broke their promises. They said they would not add micro-transactions, but they did. Shame. Now the game is ruined, and the company is corrupt from the inside. They did some pretty bad things to modders too, all very shady.
-
Oct 20, 2015Used to be good until they sold out, John Wick DLC? Alesso DLC? and now micro-transactions.
Stay away from this garbage, they'll just pump out DLC after DLC without caring about the game at all. -
Oct 16, 2015The game costs 20$. There are 17 DLC at 5$ a pop. The game just got "rebalanced", aka all weapons nerfed into the ground and skins with stat boosts added that you also must pay for. This game is now just a money making machine for the developer. It was good when it come out, but they have subsequently ran it into the ground with their shoddy dlc and nickel and diming tactics. This has to stop.

Oct 17, 2015Added microtransactions by lying SOBs. Pay 2 win. Don't support lying developers who is more interested in their bottom line than customer satisfaction.
-
Oct 26, 2015Said they'd never add microtransactions (on several occasions).
Added microtransactions (with stat boosts).
We (the consumers) shouldn't encourage this kind of toxic, greedy behaviour, as Overkill was once a respectable developer that truly cared about their games. They let Payday 2 turn into a DLC-fest with, of course, the DLC weapons being unbalanced. -
Oct 28, 2015Overall a fun game but I honestly can't get behind a game where the devs promised not to **** the community in the ass, and then announced they are ****ing their community in the ass, and then proceeding to **** every bodies asses for those sweet, sweet dollarydoos.
-
Oct 16, 2015What was supposed to be an alright coop game riddled with DLCs they just decided to add a microtransaction scheme in the game to unlock content that probably shouldn't even exist on the way they released it. I'm not a walking wallet and I'm done spending money on your game.
-
Oct 17, 2015Adding microtransactions as a reward for the 4th anniversary after 17 days of goals reached by the community.
Overkill cupidity got no limits.
I paid the game 40€, I paid each of the more than twenty DLCs, and now I should pay for weapons skins which provides ingame bonus ? I say no, RIP this game, it was fun but Overkill'cupidity kills it.
I'll never bought another Overkill game. -
Oct 17, 2015Ive been playing for awhile and really did enjoy the game. And usually updates are a great thing, but they kept adding $5 after $5 after $5 dlc's, that really shouldve been free. Now microtransactions? No thanks.
-
Oct 16, 2015
-
Oct 26, 2015Grossly amount of DLC's and micro transactions, not even a decent game since you have to grind over 600 hours to have decent equipment and pay for dlcs that has majority of weapons that the base game lack
-
Oct 25, 2015
-
Aug 19, 2013Since developers are not answering on the bug reports pages and not fixing big issues like:
- crashing steam
- crash to desktop due to LUA unhandled exceptions
- sound bugs
- permanent connection issues for a lot of people at rush hour (you can't play more than 5 minutes, sometimes even 20 sec)
Well I guess a big negative score on metacritic will do the trick, simcity style. -

Oct 26, 2015used to be a top notch game with a lot of reasonably priced extra DLC - now it's a game with pay2win microtransactions and a whole heap of DLC - save your money for something worthy of your time, your initial purchase in this game just wont be worth it.
-
Nov 18, 2015It used to be such a good game before developers decided to go full retard.
They added p2w skins to the game which for example makes pistols now stronger than most rifles.
At its current condition this game should no longer be played or supported in any way. Walk away don't look back. -
Oct 18, 2015Fight cops with your credit card! Full priced game with micro-transactions AND DLC that costs more than the main game! All-new dynamic Unboxing mechanics never seen before! The first heist game that steals from you!
-
Nov 21, 2015This dev has completely lost their mind and only cares about pinching their fans for every dime they can, This game went from decent to literally the worst game on earth. STAY FAR AWAY!
-
Oct 19, 2015How about instead of having access to all of the reviews, you instead pay $2.49 for a random review? Hell, if you're lucky, you might even get a Mint Condition "Helpful" Review! Go get 'em, tiger!
-
Oct 18, 2015Micro-transactions aren't free...
I mean, the addition of them was free. The unbalancing of weapons was free... But, free **** is still **** And getting the actual content behind the microtransactions isn't free. -
Nov 13, 2015Microtransactions and then the damage control you go for is making those microtransactions result in skins that not only stat-boost, but now provide XP and money boosts? Get out of here with that **** You won't ever see another cent from me.

Oct 18, 2015The most recent update added Pay2Win mechanics on top of already hilariously expensive DLC. Do NOT buy this game in its current form - it's disgusting and unethical behaviour.

Oct 16, 2015Broken promises by developers. Micro-transactions added to the game.
Absolutely ridiculous the extent these developers go, putting their greed above the game. -
Nov 15, 2015
-
Oct 18, 2015I only have 500 hours put into this game, but my desire to support Overkill is nonexistent at this point. They have followed the path of EA, and for that, **** them and their micro-transactions.
-
Oct 16, 2015
-
Oct 26, 2015This game is a piece of trash and so is Overkill. They are a group of downright scumbags who bring shame to the entire industry and deserve to go bankrupt and force their employees to go down a different career path in life, for the benefit of humanity.
-
Nov 15, 2015They promised to never add microtransactions to the game when they launched it. But Overkill's greed was stronger, and with the last update they added a microtransaction market. It's so easy to destroy a good game.
-
Nov 13, 2015Do not buy this game.... is a scam.... we paid 20 dollars for a dlc that was a scam (COP)....also they promised not to put microtransactions in the game.... was a lie, because they did... Payday 2 was a good game....

Oct 17, 2015Great game, if the developers didn't lie through their teeth and forcibly try to squeeze every dollar out of it's dedicated fans it may have gotten a positive review. Such a shame.
-
Oct 19, 2015I paid a large amount for this game and the DLC, and now they're screwing us over with paid skins and safes that you need to pay to open? I uninstalled this game and I would not recommend it to anybody. I have about 400 hours played and this is just a huge slap in the face to the dedicated fans of PAYDAY 2.
-
Oct 26, 2015Game implemented microtransactions, which actually gives stat boost. i do not recommend that game to anyone. Overkill claim that we love update, so they need to see more steam reviews (from 98 to 73% positive reviews in few days). Almir is just liar which claim that we want more updates like that. See what's happened when we all say NO to any more DLC.

Oct 17, 2015This game was great up until they decided to add weapon skins ala CS:GO. That'd be all fine and dandy on its own, if not for the fact that said weapon skins provide stat boosts to your guns, and cost real life moneydollars to get.
-
Oct 26, 2015I loved this game. Been playing since the first payday. When this game released, I was stoked that no micro transactions were implemented. Slowly the developers are going against their words and are starting to implement a micro transaction system.
You guys might as well move under SEGA's wing. I mean your headed that way anyways.

Oct 9, 2013PayDay 2 is one of the nicest surprises of the year. Overkill Software understands the atmosphere of gangster movies and wisely improves these pieces of gameplay, that might have been disappointing in the first game. The sequel is better in almost every way - you can play a thief and enjoy good character development and shooting systems. I really hope, that PayDay 3 will be even better.
