    PAYDAY 2 already have a lot of DLCs, now they introduced micro-transactions. Who speaks is a person that played that for 5 hundred hours.

    Last CrimeFest is the finish line for this wonderful and once our favorite game. We joked a half years ago. Even then, it seemed that the game is oversaturated with content breadth but not depth, a little more than full. We have predicted the emergence of bows, minigun, flame-throwers and machine guns of WWI times.     They didn't hold their annual gathering (usually a great party!) to announce this latest "big expansion we've worked months on!" because they *knew* that the    Went Pay2Win micro-transaction BS after most of us put $150 or more into the game and DLCs with the promise of no micro-transactions or pay to win. This game company is just another sack of lying garbage like so many others.

    They didn't hold their annual gathering (usually a great party!) to announce this latest "big expansion we've worked months on!" because they *knew* that the community would be so angry that the reps from Overkill would potentially be in physical danger of a few punches in the mouth.

    Buy & play something else, this community is quickly dying and the game in it's current state is crap.    … Expand

    Completely unprofessional company. Abusive to it's customers and incompetent in its content creation. They drove this game off a cliff and charged 4.99 a month the whole way. Now, after promising never to have micro-transactions, they've introduced them on the game's anniversary.

The weapon rebalance simply screwed up everything, Pistols being stronger than    Overkill ruined everything with the Oct. 15th update.

The atmosphere and challenge have become more and more diluted by power creep in DLC ever since however, and the developers have now decided instead of fixing that problem they want to embrace and monetize it. The entire system has been rebalanced with a massive nerf to player weapons/setups (This is arguably somewhat good), EXCEPTThis game was one of the gems on Steam even a year ago. The atmosphere and challenge have become more and more diluted by power creep in DLC ever since however, and the developers have now decided instead of fixing that problem they want to embrace and monetize it. The entire system has been rebalanced with a massive nerf to player weapons/setups (This is arguably somewhat good), EXCEPT for the DLC and new microtransaction system where players can gamble for skins like in CS:GO (Sometimes to unlock skins for guns in DLC you haven't bought yet), but these skins give added benefits so you can boost your guns back to pre-nerf. The original developers of Payday are a dying breed, and the few who remain have turned it fully into a "Pay for the game, so you can pay for a chance to pay to win".

You pay a base game, and if you want more heists or have more weapons (even ammunition for shotguns) you have to pay dlcs...well all base heists and weapons are great, and i love it...and i dont complain about the dlcs...but adding microtransactions its a bit    It was all fun and games until they added microtransactions...

    At this current moment Payday 2 introduced Micro-transactions for an already paid game with numerous paid DLC packs in their annual Crimefest (a celebration that the developers promised only would add FREE content as a reward for its community) on Day 1 of the Celebration. The only means as of now, to get that added content (paid weapon skins with stats) was paying    +/- 400h played here

    At this current moment Payday 2 introduced Micro-transactions for an already paid game with numerous paid DLC packs in their annual Crimefest (a celebration that the developers promised only would add FREE content as a reward for its community) on Day 1 of the Celebration. The only means as of now, to get that added content (paid weapon skins with stats) was paying real money. Making it become something like Pay-to-Win.

    Should it become obtainable with ingame means, whether through unused offshore money (the ingame currency) or through the already implemented reward card system (for completing a heist). I presume the community would probably cease the hostilities towards Almir and his Crew and resume to 'normal'.

    I like playing the game though (it's a masterpiece aside from this current mess, I own ALL DLC - including Limited ones) and would do so again if they change the P2W scheme and appeal the community, but not like this.. It's no fun now.. :-(

    Also, I do not agree with the current changes (added micro transactions) I still love how it used to be, and I don't wish to see it Burn and Completely die out. I love playing Payday 2.. But not the Micro transactions..

    EDIT: Drills just became an infamous card drop with Day 6 of Crimefest, it's an improvement, but still waiting if OVERKILL can go one better, my rage is tempered for now, but I remain cautious.. You get the thumbs up back for now, because it is a step in the right direction, but let's see how it ends..

    What now must follow is the complete removal of the steammarket integration and OVERKILL's public apologies.. But let's see if that will happen.. No high hopes though    … Expand

    Payday 2 was ok until developers start adding microtransactions in a retail co-op game. it's not even MMO - all the game network mechanics is based on peer-to-peer. It looks stupid and money grabbing scheme - stay away. even other titles which has microtransactions have way to get items not spending a real money and those titles hosted on developers servers.

    WELCOME TO PAY2WINDAY: GLOBAL OFFENSIVE!!! Microtransactions ad skins that give your guns stat boosts. Oh did I mention pistols do more damage than shotguns. Do our best to like this game after the new update because even Payday vets are dropping this. Te entire community is in a uproar with good reason. I loved this game so much, damn shame to see what it`s become.

    The latest update introduced microtransactions. The game has already been heavily monetized with DLC.

    The developer lied to customers and sold the game under false pretenses on Steam. Do not support them or their profit-mongering behavior. 0/10 for lying to loyal customers.

Almir stated that they increased their workforce by 300%, then needed more money to fund it all, therefor changing their previous business standards, and flat out lying to their customer base.     The developers lied and their business practices are very shady.

    Not only do you have to pay to open crates in the game but the skins give you stat boost effectively making the game more pay2win then it already is. Not only that but the crates also give you skins for DLC guns that you haven't even bought.

You and a four person crew work together to hold off police forces while accomplishing goals and gaining assets. There is also a fleshed out skills system in which you customize your characters abilities and fighting style. For a long time this was the best game for anyone who loves heist movies and wanted to experience the thrill of criminal enterprise without all the jail time.

    Now for the negatives. This game has always been buggy and the graphics are below average at best. The AI has always been awful, demanding that you play with other people; any hopes of playing by yourself will be quickly shut down. While these were relatively minor issues, because Payday 2 is constantly being updated, problems have cropped up. One can easily spend over one hundred dollars on DLC for this game, some of which is needed to stay competitive. DLC's show no sign of slowing with a new one being introduced nearly each month. Micro-transactions are also part of the game costing $2.50 for a gamble on a new weapon mod each time. One can't help but wonder if the studio has squandered all its profits on a hugely successful game and are now bailing out a sinking ship. The point is that Payday 2 certainly looks to be on the decline and isn't worth consumers' funding any longer.

    As another note, any potential buyers should understand that the older any reviews are, the more unreliable they get, due to the nature of this constantly updated game. The newest reviews are all going to be the most accurate to the game as is it right now.    … Expand

Never have holding off waves of enemies been such a fun experience. Usually doing that in games is boring and/or frustrating as all get out, but PAYDAY 2 found a way to make it work, and work REALLYOkay, so I put in a thousand something hours into this game, and I enjoyed it. It was great. Wonderful game. Really solid gunplay, amazing music, interesting theme, and engaging level design. Never have holding off waves of enemies been such a fun experience. Usually doing that in games is boring and/or frustrating as all get out, but PAYDAY 2 found a way to make it work, and work REALLY well.

    So what happened to get this negative review? Long story short: the updates. People began to note that with each passing DLC there was a sort of power creep going on. A pay to win system. Now the latest update promises weapon rebalances to fix this issue as part of this massive community event where we completed challenges for free rewards. What happened instead? Weapons were further nerfed and a microtransaction model was implemented. Get a safe at random and then pay a fee of real world money to get a drill to unlock the safe to get a random skin. Sounds familiar? CSGO and TF2 did the same thing with their key system. Only difference here is that the skins enhance your stats.

    So what did this update the community have to work for and were promised a free reward turn out to be? Your guns are rendered useless and the only way to buff them back to where they were before, which means still a power creep and paid DLC guns are still superior, is to spend even more money to have a CHANCE at fixing your loadout. That's BS. What is also BS is that prior to release the company stated in an interview when asked if PAYDAY 2 will have microtransactions, "No. No. God, I hope not. Never. No." But wait, that came from someone who left the company! I hear you, I understand. Here's a link to a statement from Almir Listo, who is still at Overkill and working as the unofficial PR guy because Overkill won't hire a real one for some reason. http://i.imgur.com/wQCwAyd.png This update has turned them into liars.

    "Wait wait wait," I hear you saying. "Not all the guns were nerfed. Some of them were buffed." Indeed, buffed to ridiculous extremes. For example, pistols are now doing three times the damage shotguns are. This is its own problem. As stated earlier, there was a powercreep going on. It has gotten so much worse now, with specific items at least. The balance has been thrown out the window. So how do you catch up your nerfed weapons to be back where to were, much less on par with the other weapons that were buffed to high hell? Skins! Pay up and MAYBE you'll see your gun marginally improve.

    Nerfing weapons to hell and putting buffs to them behind a gambling paywall is wrong.

    Buffing weapons to the point that the game is completely unbalanced and Bulldozers, this game's version of COD MW's Juggernauts, are able to be killed in 3-5 headshots and the effect where their mask flies off from the damage taken simply doesn't work anymore is also a game killer. You don't really have a game anymore. Just something to throw money at.

    Was this game great at one time? Absolutely.
    Is it worth your money now? Heck no. Stay away. You'll just end up having to spend even more of it anyways.    … Expand

    I used to like to play this game, but the direction the Overkill came taking is affecting the game.

    All we get are more and more paid DLC, some being totally clueless (maybe funny?).
    Now they added micro-transactions in the game and they had promised not to.

    If I could ask for a full refund, I would.

It doesn't worth anyones money, cause the only thing they want is to win more and more money and don't give any content for it. Promises for safe-house customization are being made since 2013. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.

However the first crimefest goals were to make people buy their DLC and different goals where how many people bought their DLC. The community made sure they reached their endgoal, making overkill a ton of money. The second crimefest goals where making people join their community, advertising the game for them.
    One of the rewards were that micro transactions that affect gameplay being implemented into the game.
    So people buying their game, buying their DLC, advertising for them are rewarded with microtransactions. That is not a rewards, that is being scammed and screwed over.    … Expand

    I loved this game... I got it cheap but still bought 40$ in DLCs... I never spent so much money in the game.. Eventually.. The game being repetitive.. Broken.. And pretty much annoying. However, the developers slowly pulled one of the worst business practices ever, worse than most of EA's stuff, instead of going the good guy route. The game could've been fantastic, but instead, the developers (OVERKILL) decided to release countless DLCs for the game. This was okay at first, because the paid DLCs were mixed in with aPAYDAY 2 was a game with LOADS of potential at launch. However, the developers slowly pulled one of the worst business practices ever, worse than most of EA's stuff, instead of going the good guy route. The game could've been fantastic, but instead, the developers (OVERKILL) decided to release countless DLCs for the game. This was okay at first, because the paid DLCs were mixed in with a bunch of free ones. But then, OVERKILL decided they should be greedy, and stopped releasing free DLCs for the most part. Then, there was a celebration to PAYDAY's success, called "Crimefest". Crimefest was a time where the community reached goals (users playing at one time etc.) in exchange for rewards in-game when Crimefest launched. OVERKILL stated on multiple occasions that everything in Crimefest was going to be free. However, on the first day of Crimefest (Oct. 15, 2015) the game came out with two new features. The first one was a huge weapon re-balance that really messed up the game, and made it way MORE un-balanced. But, the second thing was MICRO-TRANSACTIONS. After the developers said it was going to be free. So, the micro-transactions themselves make the game Pay To Win, because the things themselves are skins that offer weapon stat boosts. This ruins any trust the community had with OVERKILL, and is downright False Advertising, which is illegal in most places (except America of course). So no, don't get this game unless you want to be openly lied to, and get no response when almost the whole community including you confront the devs for lying.

    Been gaming since the 1970s, never seen something as atrocious as what Overkill pulled. CRIMEFEST are series of community challenges allowing players to get content for free. However what overkill did this time is the opposite. It wasn't free and created an micro economy full of traders.
    My son does indeed hate this update.

    I didn´t like all those not really cheap DLC´s, but I have always supported Overkill. This microtransactions move was a huge misstep which I am not going to tolerate. They lied to all of us.

    So Crimefest 2015 went, and Overkill mobs put MICROTRANSACTIONS. And Almir Listo said that they wouldn't. Bunch os liars. Worse, some skins can give advantage over other players. Well, run far away for this game, the devs are just big greedy liars. Put your money on other games,    Payday 2 was a good game.     The "rebalance" is **** and the microtransactions are terrible. I was such a fan of this game before the crimefest update.

    Devs get your act together, I've never seen such a great game die this fast.

    PayDay 2 is one of the nicest surprises of the year. Overkill Software understands the atmosphere of gangster movies and wisely improves these pieces of gameplay, that might have been disappointing in the first game. The sequel is better in almost every way - you can play a thief and enjoy good character development and shooting systems. I really hope, that PayDay 3 will be even better.
